Shavuot is the 8th Holy Day of Counting the Omer

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Day 49-The Seventh Sabbath in Counting the Omer

April 29, 2023

Shabbat Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,

The Wheat was Ready one week ago for Shavuot. This is despite all the rain and snow that has come, which some are saying is proof they are right. Please see our report in the section titled Three Months Too Late.

I want to invite you all to follow me on Telegram. Just click this link. Since I was removed from Facebook, I have been looking for a way to get my message out.  Trying to fit it all into one email is going to be challenging to read. I can post notices on Telegram and you will be able to share them with your own people.

Speaking Tours

I am adding a new line to the sign up forms so that you can add your state or province which you live in.

I am doing this because some are asking for fellowship in certain states. If I have this information I can send an email out to all those just in that one state or province if they would like to meet. Up until now we only wanted to know what country you are in. I will leave the state as optional.

I am also offering to come to various countries and speak. This way I can let all those in that state or country know when I would be meeting and where in their area.

So if you want to know these things then please fill in your state or province on the sign up form for the News letter. https://sightedmoon.org/newsletter-signup55469575

It is my hope to be able to speak in London England, Netherland, France, Switzerland, the Philippines and South Africa. And it is my hope to do so this summer before the abomination is set up.

We will be in Hong Kong May 16-17 and then in Manila Phillippines from May 18 to June 14. Let us know if your interested in joining us.

Here is what I need from those of you who want me to come. I need a hall with a minimum of 12 foot ceiling so I can put up our banner. It is 11 feet tall and 20 feet wide.  I need a minimum of 50 people. I need someone local to host me. That is, organize and set up the event and take care of all the details for the event and take care of me from the time I get off the plane until I get back on it again.

If you want me to present this to your group then time is fast running out. Organize it ASAP and make it happen.

The Shmita Year of 2023

Brethren find a way to obey. Stop finding excuses why you can’t do this or that.

If you just discovered this was the Shmita year, then stock up now for the remainder of the year. Don’t plant or harvest this year. Obey Yehovah.

The Shmita Year of 2023

Aviv 1 on February 21/22, 2023 began the 7th Year of Rest. You can prove this by understanding that 2 King 19:29 spoke about a 49th and 50th-year land rest. Knowing this was 701 and 700 BC, you can then count by 7 or 49 and land on every Sabbatical year or every Jubilee in history. All of our proof’s line up with this understanding.

We want to encourage you to watch and share this video of our teaching at GLC about the Sabbatical Year.

In this Sabbatical year, you are:

  1. Not to Plant
  2. Not to Harvest
  3. Stock up on Food in the 6th year
  4. Forgive Debts
  5. Read the Torah Out Loud on the 1st day of Sukkot.

These are the basic rules that you are to keep in order to be blessed by Yehovah. As of this writing, it is not too late to stock up for the year.

There are 365 days in the year. Let’s just say there are 400 days, in case there is an Adar Bet next year. You can buy 400 Cans of Soup to have one meal of soup each day during the year. One can of soup costs about $2, so for $800 you have a year’s supply of soup. But if you are not going to eat soup every day then take out half and buy canned beans, vegetables and fruits.

You can do this. Do not say you can’t do this. Find the will to find a way to get this done. Find excuses as to why you will obey. We are coming into the 5th curse over the next 7 years. That curse is famine and it will be so bad that people will eat their own children. So stock up on food now so you can obey Yehovah. And extra food will be a welcome blessing later.

Brethren, this is not that hard to do. What it takes is the willpower to do it: that and a little planning. You can buy meat throughout the year. It is not a ban on meat. You can also eat anything that grows of itself during the year. But do not plan on living off of those things that come from the ground. It they fail then you have no food. Stock up now, and if something grows, they are a bonus, but they are also free game for the neighbours and the animals. So they might eat it before you do. Plan ahead and stock up now. You still have time to get it done.

I received this email this week and want to share it and answer it with you all.

Message: Hello Joseph

I was wondering ‚Äď are we allowed to still buy ‚Äúold stock‚ÄĚ from the store up to 22 Feb 2023? Most products have Production dates and Sell by dates on them. I am staying away from fresh vegetables and fruit but if I can see on a canned item or on frozen vegetables that the Production date in well outside of the beginning of the Shmita year, I am allowed to buy it?

As you might know, we (South Africa) are sometimes without power for up to 8 hours, sometimes more, a day. I therefore did not invest in an extra freezer or fridge for we are expecting the collapse of the grid any day and all those frozen things will have to be thrown away. I have stocked up for the Shmita year, but still have this impression on my spirit that I have to keep doing it for as long as I can ‚Äď especially canned goods.

Personally I do not see why I can’t, because it is old stock. Nowhere do I read in the Torah that you are not allowed to buy the old stock in the Shmita year (provided of course that you can find a Production date on the can/container that is well outside the beginning of our Shmita year. But, my understanding of it may be wrong, so I would really appreciate your input.

Shalom

Melanie

South Africa

As I always do here is my standard answer as to what you are to do during the Sabbatical year.

  1. Not to Plant
  2. Not to Harvest
  3. Stock up on Food in the 6th year
  4. Forgive Debts
  5. Read the Torah Out Loud on the 1st day of Sukkot.

Each person is different. Each person has a different culture they live in. Some do not have electric power. Some are called and discover this information and the sabbatical year has already begun. Yehovah has called each of us from the walk we are in. Different races, different problems. But He HAS called you to begin NOW to obey. So, start to obey from that point on with all your might and all your ability. But Start!!!

Joe Dumond Rules

In answer to Melanie, these are now what I do. They are not written in Torah. This would come under Joe Dumond rules, which must be changed when found to be out of alignment with Yehovah’s Laws. Each of you will develop you own rules for you and your family. I might not agree with them but so long as we are all keeping the 5 rules of the Shmita year then do not judge others who are trying to obey. Let Yehovah judge them. Let Yehovah bless them according to what they do right and what they do wrong. But do not let us go around attacking each other, and especially those who are trying.

I have stocked up my food for the upcoming year. Here in Ontario, Canada, I will use Shavuot as another one of my benchmarks. I will explain in a moment.

Here in Ontario, I will continue to buy and eat apples that were grown in Ontario up until about Shavuot 2023. This means any apples marked as product of Ontario would have been grown and harvested in 2022. New Apples will not be available from Ontario until some time in the summer of 2023. So my cut off date will be Shavuot 2023. Potatoes grown here in Canada either from Ontario or Prince Edward Island, the main place potatoes are grown in Canada will not come on the market until about August. Again, I can use last years stocks up until my cut off date of Shavuot 2023.

Here in Ontario, our lettuce and most fresh fruit and vegetables comes from around the world and take about 7 days to go from being picked to the store. So for me, as of Passover 2023, I will not be eating any fresh greens from the stores. I will eat only what I have already bought before that date which is now passed. Most canned fruits and vegetables are from last years harvest. So canned goods I will continue to stock up on. I believe I will finish this the week after the Days of Unleavened Bread. I know there is no yeast in them, but I have had many problems to resolve with my wife about storing food here in the apartment, which is forcing me to be very precise in all I do.

Now if I am going to use Shavuot as my cut off date for those things grown here in Ontario, then next year when the Sabbatical Year ends at Aviv in 2024, then I also will continue to not eat those things grown in Ontario, until they come into season here locally. For example, I will wait until August before eating Apples again. I will wait until August before I eat new potatoes.

After Aviv 1 in 2024, when fresh strawberries begin to arrive on the store shelves in Ontario I will wait until around the 1st of the second month before I eat them. I am doing this because the shelve life is about a week or two. So if I wait until the 1st of the 2nd month, then those fresh products will have been harvested in 2024 after Aviv, when we can then again harvest. In the past I have waited and to set the date at Shavuot.

Here is an example from the Bible you need to understand and once you do then can decide what to do for yourself. It is upon this understanding that I set the date for myself of Shavuot.

Lev 25:20 And if you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow nor gather in our increase!

Lev 25:21 Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

Lev 25:22 And you shall sow the eighth year, and eat of old fruit until the ninth year; until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old fruit.

The Barley was sown around Sukkot in the fall. It is harvested after Passover. In a Sabbatical year you could not harvest the barley in the Sabbatical Year. You would not be able to plant in the Sabbatical year in the fall. This then meant you would not have a barley crop the year after the Sabbatical year at Passover. This is now the 8th year. In the fall around Sukkkot in the 8th year, you could plant but would not be able to harvest until Passover in the 9th year.

What ever the crop or food you are desiring to plant or harvest, in what ever part of the world you you live in, you must plant and harvest according to the Sabbatical Year rules from Aviv to Aviv.

So each person must figure out when Strawberries are planted and harvested according to this understanding. When Potatoes are planted according to this understanding. Our society does not obey Yehovah. So each of us must read the labels and decide if this is kosher or not. To this day, I do not drink any wine harvested in the year 2016 or 2009 both Sabbatical years I have kept.

We all must obey. Do the best you can and pray Yehovah helps you to understand and to be able to obey.

If you want to use aquaponics or soilless planting then you must decide if this is kosher or not. I am not going to come up with an entire Targum or set of Tamudic do’s and don’ts. Read the rules or read Lev 25 and then you decide. You are called to be a King and Priest in the Kingdom of Yehovah. As a King and Preist you must uphold the Law of Yehovah and enforce it. As a King or Priest in the Kingdom, is what you are going to do, upholding those laws? Is what you are going to do pleasing to Yehovah? You must decide. I am not your judge.

Php 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, cultivate your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Php 2:13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

Php 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings,

Php 2:15 so that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. Among these you shine as lights in the world,

Php 2:16 holding forth the Word of Life, so that I may rejoice with you in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain nor labored in vain.

Some are asking how to do you travel? When you go to someones home what do you do? YOU can assume that those people are obeying Yehovah and you eat. Or you can pull out your own food from your purse and eat it in front of them. Again I am not your judge. You must decide what to do.

Joshua crossed the Jordan in the 50th year.  He did not plant anything the year before or this year. And yet he ate everything they captured from the cities of the Caananites. They did not obey Yehovah. Joshua ate their food.

There is not commandment telling you you cannot eat. I have given you Joe Dumond rules above. They are not Yehovah’s rules. You must decide what you are going to do.

Three Months Too Late

Three months ago we declared the Barley to be Aviv. We sent Randy Cates to Israel, to assist Becca and to be another witness to the Barley being Aviv.

All the nay-sayers came out in droves condemning us once again. We kept Passover March 8, 2022. Then Devorah began to waffle in how she was reporting to the point where Michael Rood and Arthur Bailey have broken from her reports to keep Passover this past month on March 22nd. Even Nehemia and Keith were to my knowledge low keyed about Passover this year. Devorah is saying the barley is not Aviv and will keep Passover next month on May 4th or 5th. We have updated all of Devorah’s reports in our Newsletter YOU WILL BE A JUDGE! DO YOU KNOW HOW TO JUDGE?

And here now is a follow-up report created before the 2nd Passover on March 22. The barley we showed you last month is gone. It is shattered and reseeded itself. There is nothing left there to make a wave offering on March 26 if we had to.

Any doubts I may have had are now 100% put at ease. We are indeed in sync with Yehovah’s timing.

Thank you Becca once again for following up on the field to show the world it was indeed Aviv last month and now there is nothing left.

One of the takanots that have been put forward is that you cannot harvest the barley if it is still raining. After we kept Passover on March 8, there was more rain. That would seem to justify those who kept Passover on March 22, which was the majority. But now we even have the JP reporting of heavy snow in the north and flooding in the south on April 12, 2023. This does not change the fact the barley we reported has reseeded itself. Those keeping Passover in May will be two months too late.

Roads blocked in South as floods, heavy rains surprise Israel

Mount Hermon closed to visitors due to heavy snowfall ‚ÄĘ Highway 90 closed off, Health Ministry issues warning against bathing in Tel Aviv beaches

Here is anotehr Jerusalem Post fro APril 13, 20223 https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-739144

Why is it hailing in Israel in April?

“Everyone is talking about democracy, but we must react to the climate change crisis,” said Professor Hadas Saaroni.

He said that Israel and the rest of the region ‚Äď Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait and Iraq ‚Äď have all been experiencing increased bouts of heavy rain and major floods, which ‚Äúmight be connected to a trend that is predicted to appear in a warming world.

With all the bad weather in Israel, you will be told it is not possible for the farmers to harvest. Whether that is true or not is irrelevant. Because as you are about to witness, the wheat is ready to be harvested. And this is one week before we keep Shavuot. How can people still deny the Barley was Aviv in March? We now have wheat ready to harvest just before Shavuot. Do any of these other groups search for wheat? Have you asked them? And if Michael Rood, or  Arthur Bailey and others are not trusting Devorah for her barley reports, then who are they going to listen to next year?

Once again you get to judge if the wheat is now ready to be harvested in time for Shavuot. You judge. Are we keeping the Holy Days at the right time?

THE SABBATH 101

The Sabbath 101

I have been asked a number of times for the basics of keeping Torah. I have told those asking where to look but still more come and they are overwhelmed by the amount of articles, videos and books to go through. I never set out for it to be like that. But we have been posting a weekly newsletter since 2005. That is about 938 newsletters which have been viewed 9,701,688 times. We have written 8 books selling 5,439 copies as of this week. We have created about 552 videos, which have had 2,778,234 views as of today.

Just looking at these numbers tells me we are doing something right. And at the same time we continue to dive deeper into the things we are teaching. But for the new people it can be over whelming.

I had the great opportunity to visit Batman, Bat-woman and Alfred, and I even stayed in the Bat-cave. Batman has compiled a number of teachings that are geared for the new person and those just starting out in this walk. He also put together three of the books we now offer at Sightedmoon. I want to make all of these available for you to take advantage of, but you can’t tell Batman.

Here is the video section.

You can order one of two books. Scripture Lessons for the Kingdom & More Scripture Lessons for the Kingdom

Scripture Lessons for the Kingdom is exactly that, short lessons for those new to Torah. We have taken many of the lessons from the website and condensed them down into one to two-page lessons. While these do not cover everything, they will cover the basics and give you a good starting place for your journey into the Word of YHVH. We hope you enjoy this book and look forward to hearing back from you and your stories about this journey.

AND

We also have a third book about the covenant titled I Do. It is an e-book only format.

The servants of the groom are announcing the wedding, but will the bride prepare herself properly to say ‚ÄúI do‚ÄĚ?¬† I do is a short book that both teaches and challenges one who has accepted the betrothal to the Lamb to do that which will prepare them for that great day when the groom arrives.

TORAH PORTIONS

Torah Portions

We read through the entire Torah along with the Prophets and the New Testament, once over the course of 3 1/2 years. Or according to the Sabbatical Cycle which means we read it all twice over a 7 year period. This allows us to cover more in-depth rather than being rushed to cover as much as is covered on an annual basis. We allow all to comment and take part in the discussions.

Septennial Torah Portion

If you go to Torah Portion at our archived section, you can then go to the 7th year which is the 7th year of the Sabbatical Cycle, the one we are in now, as we state at the top of every News Letter. There you can scroll down to the proper date, and see that this Shabbat we could very well be midrashing about:

Numbers 23

Joel 1-3

Lamentations 1

1 Corinthians 1

If you missed last week’s exciting discoveries as we studied that section you can go and watch past Shabbats on our media section.

SABBATH MEETINGS

Sabbath Meetings

There are many people in need of fellowship and who are sitting at home on the Sabbath with no one to talk to or debate with. I want to encourage all of you to join us on Shabbat, and to invite others to come and join us as well. If the time is not convenient then you can listen to the teaching and the midrash after on our YouTube channel.

What are we doing and why do we teach this way?

We are going to discuss both sides of an issue and then let you choose. It is the work of the Ruach (Spirit) to direct and to teach you.

The medieval commentator Rashi wrote that the Hebrew word for wrestle (avek) implies that Jacob was ‚Äútied‚ÄĚ, for the same word is used to describe knotted fringes in a Jewish prayer shawl, the tzitzityot. Rashi says, ‚Äúthus is the manner of two people who struggle to overthrow each other, that one embraces the other and knots him with his arms‚ÄĚ.

Our intellectual wrestling has been replaced by a different kind of struggle. We are Wrestling with Yehovah as we grapple with His Word. It is an intimate act, symbolizing a relationship in which Yehovah and I and you are bound together. My wrestling is a struggle to discover what Yehovah expects of us, and we are ‚Äútied‚ÄĚ to the One who assists us in that struggle.

Today, many say Israel means ‚ÄúChampion of God‚ÄĚ, or better ‚ÄĒ the ‚ÄúWrestler of God‚ÄĚ.

Our Torah sessions each Shabbat teaches you and encourages you to constantly challenge, question, argue against, as well as view alternative views and explanations of the Word. In other words, we are to ‚Äúwrestle with the Word‚ÄĚ to get to the truth. Jews worldwide believe that you need to wrestle with the Word and constantly challenge Dogma, Theology, and views or else you will never get to the Truth.

We are not like most churches where ‚ÄúThe preacher talks and everyone listens.‚ÄĚ We encourage everyone to participate, to question and to contribute what they know on the subject being discussed. We want you to be a champion wrestler of the Word of Yehovah. We want you to wear the title of Israel, knowing that you not only know but are capable of explaining why you know the Torah to be true with logic and facts.

We have a few rules though. Let others talk and listen. There is no discussion about UFO’s Nephilim, Vaccines or conspiracy-type subjects. We have people from around the world with different world views. Not everyone cares who is the President of any particular country. Treat each other with respect as Fellow wrestlers of the word. Some of our subjects are hard to understand and require you to be mature and if you do not know, then listen to gain knowledge and understanding and hopefully wisdom. The very things you are commanded to ask Yehovah for and He gives to those who ask.

Jas 1:5  But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.

We hope you can invite those who want to keep Torah to come and join us by hitting the link below. It is almost like a Torah teaching fellowship talk show with people from around the world taking part and sharing their insights and understandings.

We start off with some music and then some prayers and it’s as though you were sitting around the kitchen back in Newfoundland having a cup of coffee and all of us enjoying each other’s company. I hope you will grace us with your company someday.

Sabbath services begin at 12:30 PM EDT where we will be doing prayers songs and teaching from this hour.

Shabbat Services will begin at about 1:15 pm Eastern.

On the Holy Day, Shavuot, we will be having two meetings. One at 10 AM Eastern and the afternoon will be 2 PM Eastern. Look forward to seeing you all there.

We look forward to you joining our family and getting to know us as we get to know you.

Joseph Dumond is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Counting the Omer

Counting the Omer

Someone is surely going to ask you or say it publicly, where are we commanded to count the omer?

When you are asked this then you will take them to Lev 23:15

“You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of new grain to the Lord.

Lev 23:15¬†◊ē◊°◊§◊®◊™◊Ě‚ÄäH5608‚Ää ◊ú◊õ◊Ě ◊ě◊ě◊ó◊®◊™‚ÄäH4283‚Ää ◊Ē◊©◊Ā◊Ď◊™‚ÄäH7676‚Ää ◊ě◊ô◊ē◊Ě‚ÄäH3117‚Ää ◊Ē◊Ď◊ô◊ź◊õ◊Ě‚ÄäH935‚Ää ◊ź◊™‚ÄäH853‚Ää ◊Ę◊ě◊®‚ÄäH6016‚Ää ◊Ē◊™◊†◊ē◊§◊Ē‚ÄäH8573‚Ää ◊©◊Ā◊Ď◊Ę‚ÄäH7651‚Ää ◊©◊Ā◊Ď◊™◊ē◊™‚ÄäH7676‚Ää ◊™◊ě◊ô◊ě◊™‚ÄäH8549‚Ää ◊™◊Ē◊ô◊ô◊†◊Ē◊É‚ÄäH1961

Lev 23:15 And ye shall count H5608  unto you from the morrow H4480 H4283  after the sabbath, H7676  from the day H4480 H3117  that ye brought H935(H853) the sheaf H6016  of the wave offering; H8573  seven H7651  sabbaths H7676  shall be H1961  complete: H8549

Counting is the word Saphar or H5608 omer is the word for sheaf or H6016.

This mitzvah (“commandment”) derives from the Torah commandment to count forty-nine days beginning from the day on which the Omer, a sacrifice containing an omer-measure of barley, was offered in the Temple in Jerusalem, up until the day before an offering of wheat was brought to the Temple on Shavuot. The Counting of the Omer begins on the morrow after the weekly Shabbat during Passover, and ends the day before the holiday of Shavuot, the ‘fiftieth day.’

Here you are told that there are different methods of counting the 50 days. The first was to count 7 full weeks and the second was to count out the full 50 days.

Again in Deut 16:9 you are told to again COUNT. It is a commandment to count the days and or weeks. And you start from the time when the sickle is first put to the Barley grain which was done after sunset after the weekly Saturday Sabbath. This counting began with Wave Sheaf Day.

“You shall count seven weeks. Begin to count the seven weeks from the time the sickle is first put to the standing grain.

According to some the commandment ‚Äėand you shall count for yourselves fifty days‚Äô means to simply observe the 50th day as¬†Shavuot¬†while others actually declare out loud the number on each of the fifty days. A medieval Karaite Jewish practice combines two different methods of declaring the daily count. The first method is the counting of seven weeks. Each day, the number of the week and the number of the day in the week are declared. So for example, the first day is ‚Äėfirst day of the first week‚Äô. The second counting method used is an overall number for each day. In this method Day one is ‚Äėthe first day‚Äô and Day 25 is ‚Äėthe twenty-fifth day‚Äô. These two methods are used to satisfy the commandment to count seven weeks (Deuteronomy 16:9) as well as the commandment to count fifty days (Leviticus 23:16).

During each one of these days of Counting the Omer to Pentecost, Jewish tradition has developed around reading the Psalms on certain days. I find this to be very beneficial. It is customary that following the ‚ÄúCounting of the Omer,‚ÄĚ one recites Psalm 67, for according to tradition, that Psalm has forty-nine words, which corresponds perfectly to the forty-nine days of the ‚ÄúCounting of the Omer.‚ÄĚ

And as you meditate on and do these readings, which includes the Counting of the Omer command, keep in mind what this symbolizes. It is the counting of the Sabbatical and Jubilee Years and where we are in that cycle. We are in the twenty-eighth year in 2023, which corresponds to the twenty-eighth day of the ‚ÄúCounting of the Omer.‚ÄĚ

Wave Sheaf day is so exciting to understand and so amazing to believe because it forebodes the time when we will be changed and raised up. If you want to call this the Rapture then I can except that if you are obeying Yehovah. If you’re not obeying Yehovah and you think the laws are done away with, then you will not be in this resurrection or raptured. You will be told to be gone you workers of lawlessness, I never knew you.

Order the book The Mystery of the Jewish Rapture 2033 at this link.

We will speak more about this as Pentecost draws closer. The Feast of Oaths, the 8th day and the Jubilee year. Think about how they are all connected to each other.

When you count from the Wave offering of the barley to Pentecost it is called the counting of the Omer. You are to count each day up to the 50th day. This Sunday, March 12, 2023, is day one. We are to count the Omer.

As I said, this is the most special time of year for me and in years past I couldn‚Äôt put my finger on exactly why, other than it had something to do with Yehshua‚Äôs resurrection and waiting in anticipation for Shavuot. While I cannot put into words how my understanding of this has grown, all I can say is that ‚Äúit clicked!‚ÄĚ and ‚Äúnow I get it!‚ÄĚ, at least more than before. Understanding follows obedience. So OBEY and learn. You learn by doing as we are told in James.

James 2:18¬†But someone will say, ‚ÄúYou have faith and I have works.‚ÄĚ Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe‚ÄĒand shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, ‚ÄúAbraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness‚ÄĚ‚ÄĒand he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

All 50 days and each of the Psalms can be found at the back of our book Remembering the Sabbatical year of 2016

Psa 78:1   My people, give ear to my Torah, Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
Psa 78:2  I open my mouth in a parable; I utter riddles of old,
Psa 78:3  Which we have heard and known, For our fathers have related them to us.
Psa 78:4  We do not hide them from their children, Relating to the generation to come the praises of Yehovah, And His strength and His wonders which He has done.
Psa 78:5  For He raised a witness in Ya?aqo?, And set a Torah in Yisra’?l, Which He commanded our fathers, To teach them to their children;
Psa 78:6  That it might be known to a generation to come, To children who would be born, To rise up and relate them to their children,
Psa 78:7  And place their trust in Elohim, And not forget the works of ?l, But watch over His commands,
Psa 78:8  And not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation which did not prepare its heart, Whose spirit was not steadfast to ?
Psa 78:9  The children of Ephrayim, armed bowmen, Turned back in the day of battle.
Psa 78:10  They did not guard the covenant of Elohim, And they refused to walk in His Torah,
Psa 78:11  And they forgot His deeds And His wonders which He had shown them.
Psa 78:12  He did wonders in the sight of their fathers, In the land of Mitsrayim, in the field of Tso?an.
Psa 78:13  He split the sea and caused them to pass through, And He made the waters stand up like a heap,
Psa 78:14  And led them with the cloud by day, And all the night with a light of fire.
Psa 78:15  He split the rocks in the wilderness, And made them drink, as from the great depths,
Psa 78:16  And brought forth streams from the rock, And caused waters to come down as rivers.

Psa 67:6  The earth shall give her increase; Elohim, our own Elohim, blesses us!
Psa 67:7  Elohim blesses us! And all the ends of the earth fear Him!

Day Thirty-One | Yehovah & His People (Part II) Psalm 78:17-31

Psa 78:17  Yet they sinned still more against Him To rebel against the Most High in the desert.
Psa 78:18  And they tried ?l in their heart By asking food according to their desire.
Psa 78:19  And they spoke against Elohim. They said, “Is ?l able to set a table in the wilderness?
Psa 78:20¬†¬†‚ÄúLook, He struck the rock, So that the waters gushed out, And the streams overflowed. Is He able to give bread also? Would He provide meat for His people?‚ÄĚ
Psa 78:21  Therefore Yehovah heard, and He was wroth; So a fire was kindled against Ya?aqo?, And displeasure also came up against Yisrael?
Psa 78:22  Because they did not believe in Elohim, Neither did they trust in His deliverance.
Psa 78:23  Yet He had commanded the clouds above, And opened the doors of the heavens,
Psa 78:24  And He rained down manna on them to eat, And He gave them the grain of the heavens.
Psa 78:25  Men ate bread of the mighty; He sent them provisions to satisfaction.
Psa 78:26  He made an east wind blow in the heavens; And by His power He brought in the south wind.
Psa 78:27  And He rained meat on them like the dust, And winged birds like the sand of the seas,
Psa 78:28  And let them fall in the midst of His camp, All around His Dwelling Place.
Psa 78:29  So they ate and were completely satisfied, For He brought them what they desired.
Psa 78:30  They had not turned away from their desire, Their food was still in their mouths,
Psa 78:31  When the wrath of Elohim came against them, And He killed among their fat ones, And He struck down the choice ones of Yisra’?l.

Psa 67:7  Elohim blesses us! And all the ends of the earth fear Him!

Day Thirty-Two | Yehovah & His People (Part III) Psalm 78:32-39

Psa 78:32  In spite of all this they still sinned, And did not believe in His wonders.
Psa 78:33  So He ended their days in a breath, And their years in trouble.
Psa 78:34  When He killed them, then they sought Him, And they returned and did earnestly seek ?l.
Psa 78:35  And they remembered that Elohim was their rock, And the Most High ?l their redeemer.
Psa 78:36  But they flattered Him with their mouth, And they lied to Him with their tongue,
Psa 78:37  For their heart was not steadfast with Him, And they were not true to His covenant.
Psa 78:38  But He, the Compassionate One, Pardoned crookedness, And did not destroy them. And many a time He turned His displeasure away, And did not stir up all His wrath.
Psa 78:39  For He remembered that they were but flesh, A passing breath that does not return.

Day Thirty-Three | Yehovah & His People (Part IV) | Psalm 78:40-55

Psa 78:40  How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness, And grieved Him in the desert!
Psa 78:41  And again and again they tried ?l, And provoked the Set-apart One of Yisra’?l.
Psa 78:42  They did not remember His hand, The day when He redeemed them from the adversary,
Psa 78:43  How He worked His signs in Mitsrayim, And His wonders in the field of Tso?an.
Psa 78:44  He turned their rivers into blood, And they could not drink their streams.
Psa 78:45  He sent among them swarms of flies which devoured them, And frogs which destroyed them,
Psa 78:46  And gave their crops to the caterpillar, And their labour to the locust.
Psa 78:47  He destroyed their vines with hail, And their sycamore trees with frost,
Psa 78:48  And gave their beasts over to the hail, And their livestock to bolts of fire.
Psa 78:49  He sent on them the burning of His displeasure, Wrath, and rage, and distress, A deputation of messengers of evils.
Psa 78:50  He made a path for His displeasure; He did not spare their being from death, But gave their life over to the plague.
Psa 78:51  And He struck all the first-born in Mitsrayim, The first-fruits of strength in the tents of ?am,
Psa 78:52  Then made His own people go forth like sheep, And led them in the wilderness like a flock.
Psa 78:53  And He led them on safely, And they did not fear, But the sea covered their enemies.
Psa 78:54  And He brought them to the border of His set-apart place, This mountain which His right hand had gained,
Psa 78:55  And drove out nations before them, And allotted them a measured inheritance, And made the tribes of Yisra’?l dwell in their tents.

Psa 78:56  Yet they tried and rebelled Against the Most High Elohim, And did not guard His witnesses,
Psa 78:57  But they turned back And acted treacherously like their fathers; They twisted like a treacherous bow.
Psa 78:58  For they enraged Him with their high places, And moved Him to jealousy with their carved images.
Psa 78:59  When Elohim heard this, He was wroth, And greatly despised Yisra’el,
Psa 78:60  And He left the Dwelling Place of Shiloh, The Tent which He had set up among men.
Psa 78:61  And He gave His strength into captivity, And His comeliness into the hand of the adversary.
Psa 78:62  And He gave His people over to the sword, And He was wroth with His inheritance.
Psa 78:63  His young men were consumed by fire, And His maidens were not praised.
Psa 78:64  His priests fell by the sword, And their widows could not weep.
Psa 78:65  Then Yehovah awoke as one asleep, As a mighty man who shouts because of wine.
Psa 78:66  And He struck His adversaries backward, He put them to an everlasting reproach.
Psa 78:67  Then He rejected the tent of Yoseph, And did not choose the tribe of Ephrayim,
Psa 78:68  But chose the tribe of Yehudah, Mount Tsiyon, which He loved.
Psa 78:69  And He built His set-apart place like the heights, Like the earth He founded it forever.
Psa 78:70  And He chose Dawi? His servant, And took him from the sheepfolds;
Psa 78:71  He brought him in from tending the ewes, To shepherd Yacaqob His people, And Yisra’?l His inheritance.

Psa 103:16  For the wind blows over it, and it is no more, And its place no longer remembers it.
Psa 103:17  But the loving-commitment of Yehovah Is from everlasting to everlasting Upon those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children,
Psa 103:18  To those who guard His covenant, And to those who remember His orders to do them.
Psa 103:19  Yehovah has established His throne in the heavens, And His reign shall rule over all.
Psa 103:20  Bless Yehovah, you His messengers, Mighty in power, who do His Word, Listening to the voice of His Word.

The Hidden Meaning of Pentecost

In the Old Testament, the word Pentecost is not there. This feast day was referred to as ‚ÄúFeast of Weeks‚ÄĚ( Ex. 34:22; Duet. 16:9-10) because it was celebrated seven weeks after the offering of the barley sheaf. Also know as the ‚ÄúFeast of the Harvest‚ÄĚ ( Ex. 23:16), because it came at the end of the barley harvest, and it was also known as the ‚ÄĚ Feast of First Fruits‚ÄĚ ( Ex 34:22 ; Num. 28:26), because it marked the beginning of the first-fruits of the wheat harvest being offered at the temple. It is referred to in the New Testament as ‚ÄúPentecost‚ÄĚ, a term derived from the Greek pentekoste (meaning fiftieth).

The counting of the fifty what?

In ancient Israel, the grain harvest lasted 7 weeks, beginning with the barley harvest right after Passover and ending with the start of the wheat harvest seven weeks later on, Pentecost. The barley harvest was key to the whole religious calendar because Passover could not be observed until at least some of the barley was ready for harvest. The offering of the first barley wave offering took place on the day after the weekly Sabbath during the days of Unleavened Bread. This meant that if no barley was ready for harvest, the celebration of Passover had to be delayed by intercalating a month in the lunar calendar. Since barley ripens a few weeks before wheat, the ceremony of the barley wave sheaf offering, which fell on the day after the weekly Sabbath during the days of Unleavened Bread, marked the starting point of the fifty-day countdown to Pentecost.

This point is often not understood as to its importance and is also often confused or mixed up, thereby causing some to start their counting of the fifty days on the wrong day. I am going to spend some extra time here. Please bare with me.

The term ‚ÄúFeast of Weeks‚ÄĚ refers to the entire period of the grain harvest of about seven weeks from the first cutting of the barley to the completion of the start of the wheat harvest. A feast that extends over seven weeks. But it was only the beginning and the end of the feast that were marked by a wave offering (a Tenuphah ) .

The date of the Feast of Weeks was reckoned by counting seven weeks from the first putting of the sickle to the barley: “You shall count seven weeks for yourself; begin to count the seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the grain. (Duet. 16:9). The problem was to determine which day the first sheaf of barley, known as Omer, was to be cut and presented as a wave offering before Yehovah.

This determination was based on the instructions given in Leviticus 23:15-16 ‚ÄėAnd you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed. Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to Yehovah.

We are to count from the ‚Äėday after the Sabbath‚Äô. Since the term Sabbath is used to refer to both the seventh day of the week and to the annual Feast mentioned in the same chapter (Lev. 23:8, 21, 23, 32, 34), the question is ‚ÄúWhat is the meaning of ‚ÄúSabbath‚ÄĚ here, the seventh day of the week or festival day?‚ÄĚ

If you look up the word Sabbath in the concordance you will see the weekly Sabbath and Atonement are Strong’s #7676 (shabbath ). The other annual Sabbaths are Strong’s #7677 (shabbathon ). So there is a difference in the word, but many have missed this little clue.

The Pharisees, as well as Philo and Josephus all, claim it was the day after the 1st day of Unleavened Bread. The Sadducees, Boethusians, Karaites and Samaritans all took the word Sabbath to mean a weekly Sabbath and not an annual one due to the fact that the word Sabbath by itself was never used to denote an annual Festival. So who is right?

I believe we should allow Yehshua to show us. We all know He was killed as the Passover Lamb on Nisan 14. We know He died in 31A.D and that Nisan 14 was a Wednesday. The sign of Jonah had to be completed in all of its phases. The only sign that was given to us that Yehshua was the Messiah was the sign of Jonah. Yehshua said that the function of three days and three nights in the belly of the whale or great fish of Jonah was the same as his ministry, and he would be three days and three nights in the belly of the earth (as the great fish). That was the only sign given to prove His ministry. So Thursday was the 1st day of Unleavened Bread, Friday was the Preparation day for the weekly Sabbath. Saturday was the weekly Sabbath. Three days and three nights. So Yehshua rose from the grave on the Sabbath just before sunset, just as He was placed in the grave Wednesday late afternoon just before sunset. Three days and three nights as prophesied.

Matt.28:1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

Luke 24:1Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them,* came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, ‚ÄúWhy do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‚ÄėThe Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.‚Äô ‚ÄĚ 8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles.

But it is in John 20 that we learn more.

1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, ‚ÄúThey have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.‚ÄĚ 3 Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. 4 So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. 5 And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7 and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. 9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went away again to their own homes. 11 But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 Then they said to her, ‚ÄúWoman, why are you weeping?‚ÄĚ She said to them, ‚ÄúBecause they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.‚ÄĚ 14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, ‚ÄúWoman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?‚ÄĚ She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, ‚ÄúSir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.‚ÄĚ 16 Jesus said to her, ‚ÄúMary!‚ÄĚ She turned and said to Him, ‚ÄúRabboni!‚ÄĚ (which is to say, Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, ‚ÄúDo not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‚ÄėI am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.‚Äė ‚ÄĚ 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her. 19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, ‚ÄúPeace be with you.‚ÄĚ

I have marked out in bold that it was the first day of the week, before dawn, Yehshua had not yet ascended to heaven but was about to. It was the first day of the week. I have presupposed that you understand that the wave sheaf offering is Yehshua. Let me back up a little.

The Wave Sheaf Offering seems to have been waved at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning within the feast of the Passover. The general wave offering was brought by the worshipper and made in conjunction with the priest (Ex. 29:24-25). We know that the Samaritans and the Sadducees kept a Sunday Wave Sheaf and a Sunday Pentecost. That is an important factor in history. The Jews do not keep the Wave Sheaf because they keep a Sivan 6 Pentecost, which came from the traditions of the Pharisees in rabbinical Judaism after the Temple was destroyed. We know that the Samaritans keep the 14th and 15th and the concept of the Wave Sheaf and count the Omer from Sunday within the feast. So from the Temple period and right throughout, including the Samaritans, Pentecost has been kept on a Sunday. The early church kept Pentecost on a Sunday. Only the Jews kept a Sivan 6 and only after the Temple was destroyed.

The Wave Sheaf Offering needs to be kept in order to understand the full implications of Yeshua’s sacrifice and the power that he was given in terms of his resurrection from the dead. The Wave Sheaf Offering is an ancient requirement of Israel within the Torah. The ordinance is found in Leviticus 23:9-14 and also in Exodus 29:24-25 and other texts. It is poorly understood by scholars and ignored by many. It is a mandatory ordinance associated with the feast of the Passover and controls both the timing of Pentecost and the consumption of the new harvests (Lev. 23:9-14). To put it in its modern perspective, we should look at the significance of the timing of Yeshua’s death.

The Wave Sheaf Offering was known as sfirat haomer, that is, ‚Äúthe counting of the omer‚ÄĚ, because on this day we begin to count the fifty days to Pentecost. It is described in

Lev. 23: 10 ‚ÄúSpeak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‚ÄėWhen you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest. 11 He shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 And you shall offer on that day, when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering to the Lord. 13 Its grain offering shall be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to the Lord, for a sweet aroma; and its drink offering shall be of wine, one-fourth of a hin. 14 You shall eat neither bread nor parched grain nor fresh grain until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

This cutting of the first barley sheaf was a lively ceremony. The sheaf was cut the evening before on the edge of the city in front of a small crowd of worshippers. And they would do as they are told in

Duet. 26:1 ‚ÄúAnd it shall be, when you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it, 2 that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground, which you shall bring from your land that the Lord your God is giving you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide. 3 And you shall go to the one who is priest in those days, and say to him, ‚ÄėI declare today to the Lord your God that I have come to the country which the Lord swore to our fathers to give us.‚Äô 4 Then the priest shall take the basket out of your hand and set it down before the altar of the Lord your God. 5 And you shall answer and say before the Lord your God: ‚ÄėMy father was a Syrian, about to perish, and he went down to Egypt and dwelt there, few in number; and there he became a nation, great, mighty, and populous. 6 But the Egyptians mistreated us, afflicted us, and laid hard bondage on us. 7 Then we cried out to the Lord God of our fathers, and the Lord heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labor and our oppression. 8 So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. 9 He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, ‚Äúa land flowing with milk and honey‚ÄĚ; 10 and now, behold, I have brought the first fruits of the land which you, O Lord, have given me.‚Äô Then you shall set it before the Lord your God, and worship before the Lord your God. 11 So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the Lord your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you.

But it should be duly noted that the wave sheaf had to be prepared before it was waved in front of the Lord. Because it reads in

Leviticus 2:11 ‚ÄėNo grain offering which you bring to the Lord shall be made with leaven, for you shall burn no leaven nor any honey in any offering to the Lord made by fire. 12 As for the offering of the first fruits, you shall offer them to the Lord, but they shall not be burned on the altar for a sweet aroma. 13 And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt; you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you shall offer salt. 14 ‚ÄėIf you offer a grain offering of your first fruits to the Lord, you shall offer for the grain offering of your first fruits green heads of grain roasted on the fire, grain beaten from full heads. 15 And you shall put oil on it, and lay frankincense on it. It is a grain offering. 16 Then the priest shall burn the memorial portion: part of its beaten grain and part of its oil, with all the frankincense, as an offering made by fire to the Lord.

So here we see that the first fruits were a grain offering; an offering of Green Ears, or green heads. It was to be roasted. The grain was to be beaten from the husks of the barley. And it was to have salt added to it, as well as Frankincense.

If we ignore the wave sheaf offering we are missing out on a significant part of the Passover Sacrifice. Yes, we all understand that Yehshua was the Passover Lamb. And we can connect the dots in this. But answer this question. When was the Lamb ever beaten? When did the lamb have its body beaten so badly that the flesh was exposed so that the bones of the ribs could be counted? It was not. Not a bone was to be broken. But the Barley Sheaf was to be beaten. It was to be beaten until the grain was exposed and fell from the husk. The Lamb was never beaten. The lamb in one sense represented Yehshua and in another sense the Barley also represented Yehshua. Yehshua would then have to be killed as the lamb and beaten as the barley and presented before Yahweh.
Each and every detail that was foretold in scriptures was to be fulfilled on that Passover day. Beaten is foretold in

Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has borne our grief’s And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

The consecration of the first-fruits sanctifies the whole harvest since the part stands for the whole. As Paul puts it,

‚ÄúIf the dough offered as first fruits is holy, so is the whole lump‚ÄĚ ( Rom. 11:16)

By the symbolic gesture of consecrating the first fruits, the whole of the harvest was consecrated to Yehovah.

The idea that the consecration of a part exercises a sanctifying influence on all is applied in the Bible to the plan of salvation.

‚ÄúIsrael was holy to the Lord, The first fruits of His harvest‚ÄĚ (Jer. 2:3 Hos. 9:10 )

Because it was called by Yehovah to exercise a sanctifying influence on all nations. Similarly, as Christians, we are ‚ÄĚ a kind of firstfruits of His creatures: (James 1:8), because we are called to be a sanctifying influence in the world. Those who arose from the dead at the time of Yeshua‚Äôs resurrection became the first fruits, that is, the pledge of all those who will rise at the time of Yehshua‚Äôs return ( Matt. 27:52-53; Eph.4:8; 1 Thes. 4:13-18). The 144,000 saints who follow the Lamb are the first fruits for Yehovah and the Lamb‚ÄĚ ( Rev. 14:4).

Paul specifically calls Yeshua’s resurrection the first fruits of those who will rise from the dead.

¬†‚Äú20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ‚Äôs at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.‚ÄĚ (1Cor.15:20-24)

In this passage, Paul speaks of Yehshua twice as ‚Äúthe first Fruits,‚ÄĚ not only to indicate that He was the first to rise bodily from the grave, but also that by so doing He fulfilled the offering of the first fruits. At Passover and Pentecost. We have noted that the Omer of the Sheaf of Barley was waved before Yehovah, by the priest as a pledge of the full harvest that would follow. The ceremony was performed on the day after the weekly Sabbath at about 9 AM, Sunday Morning. ‚ÄĚ The wave sheaf offering, specifically the roasted omer of grain, with salt and frankincense, was a type of Christ, the ‚Äúfirst fruits‚ÄĚ or pledge, of the great harvest that will follow when all the righteous dead are raised at the second coming of Yehshua ( 1Cor. 15:23, 1 Thes. 4:14-16). Yehshua rose from the dead on the eve of the very day that the wave offering was presented in the Temple ( Lev. 23:14, Luke 23:56, 24:1) As the first sheaf was a pledge and assurance of the ingathering of the entire harvest, so the resurrection of Yehshua is a pledge that all who put their trust in Him will be raised from the dead.

Please take note. The Priest did not present before Yehovah just one head of grain, but a whole Omer of Barley. Salted and Frankincense were also added. Similarly, Yehshua did not come forth from the grave alone, for ‚Äúmany bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised‚ÄĚ (Matt. 27:52) Paul tells us that when Yehshua ‚Äúascended on high he led a host of captives‚ÄĚ ( Eph. 4:8 RSV). Those who were raised at Yeshua‚Äôs death and came ‚Äúout of the tombs after His resurrection‚ÄĚ (Matt 27:53) ascended with Yehshua to heaven as trophies of His powers to resurrect all who sleep in the grave. Just as the Omer of Barley was a pledge of the coming harvest, so the saints that Yehshua raised at the time of His death are a pledge of a future harvest of Saints.

We must pause here and ask the question. It says in John 3:13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. This was Yehshua speaking to Nicodemus, and when Yehshua said it, it was true. No one but Yehshua had gone to heaven. Not until Yehshua died, and was raised up from the grave. Then He took a host of Saints to Heaven for the very first time.

I have just quoted many scriptures that prove this, and Paul himself says so. But look at what John is shown in his vision in

Rev 4:1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‚ÄúCome up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.‚ÄĚ 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 And from the throne proceeded lightning‚Äôs, thundering, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.

8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: ‚ÄúHoly, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!‚ÄĚ 9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 ‚ÄúYou are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.‚ÄĚ

There are now 24 elders in heaven sitting on thrones, wearing white robes. These are the saints that ascended to heaven with Yehshua at His resurrection. If this is beyond your comprehension then stop here and reread all that I have said up until now. These are the first fruits. Yehovah is showing us that He is going to do as He said and raise us up from the dead. This is so unbelievable: Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses and the prophets. All the scriptures say first fruits. Never first Fruit in the singular. Never Yehshua alone, but with others.

Who are these elders again?

Elder is in Strong‚Äôs Concordance #4245 originally spelled presbuvtero√ÉŇł and means -elder, of age, the elder of two people, advanced in life, an elder, a senior , forefathers , a term of rank or office.

Note that it means forefathers-humans who were born and lived before us. These 24 elders were not created by Yehovah but were born on earth and lived and died having not received the promise. But now John is telling us they are now in Heaven with Yehovah and have now received that promise. How great is this? How unbelievable?

Also note that in Matt.5:13 Yehshua told the apostles that they and we are the salt of the earth. We are the salt of the wave offering.

Pentecost

The meaning of Pentecost is found not only in the offering of first fruits which took place on the first and fiftieth day, but also in the fact that it lasted fifty days, that is to say, seven times seven weeks, plus a day. From this characteristic the usual titles are derived, the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost (fiftieth).

Meaning is found through reasoning about the meaning of the seventh day Sabbath, which is the basis for the seven weeks structure of time. The Sabbath provided release and liberation from the hardship of life and social inequalities, not only every seven days but also every seven years (sabbatical year-Lev. 25:4) and every seven weeks of years (Jubilee year-Lev. 25:8).

The common denominator between the seven weeks of days and the seven weeks of years is the number 50, which was the symbol of remission of debts.

As with other great feasts, a special offering was made in addition to the daily burnt offering. The main offering of Pentecost was a special cereal offering consisting of ‚Äútwo loaves of bread ‚ÄĚ

( Lev. 23:17) 15 ‚ÄėAnd you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed. 16 Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the Lord. 17 You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the first fruits to the Lord. 18 And you shall offer with the bread seven lambs of the first year, without blemish, one young bull, and two rams. They shall be as a burnt offering to the Lord, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma to the Lord. 19 Then you shall sacrifice one kid of the goats as a sin offering, and two male lambs of the first year as a sacrifice of a peace offering. 20 The priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits as a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to the Lord for the priest. 21 And you shall proclaim on the same day that it is a holy convocation to you. You shall do no customary work on it. It shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

The loaves were made with flour milled from the new wheat crop and baked with leaven. The loaves were presented as a wave offering on behalf of all the people. None of the bread was placed on the altar because it was baked with leaven. Along with the two loaves, two lambs were offered as a wave offering. Pentecost was an offering of loaves with leaven as a wave offering, just as the omer of barley was a wave offering of firstfruits. Pentecost’s wave offering had leaven in it and it too was a first fruits offering. It was also accompanied by a sin offering.

Although we all know that on Pentecost Yehovah gave to Israel the Torah by His very own voice, with thunder and trumpets blasting (Ex. 19,20) and also of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles (Acts 2:3), do we realize Pentecost holds yet another secret? It is the day the second crop of saints is to be raised up from the grave, and even those that are still alive at that time. They are the second wave offering of leaven loaves.

John 4: 32 But He said to them, ‚ÄúI have food to eat of which you do not know.‚ÄĚ 33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, ‚ÄúHas anyone brought Him anything to eat?‚ÄĚ 34 Jesus said to them, ‚ÄúMy food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‚ÄėThere are still four months and then comes the harvest‚Äô? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‚ÄėOne sows and another reaps.‚Äô 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.‚ÄĚ

Yehshua said the fields are already white for the harvest. When he said don’t look ahead and say four more months He was saying don’t look to the harvest at the fall feast days. Look now at Pentecost, which is four months before the Feast of Trumpets (the day the Messiah Returns), The Day of Atonement (the time when Satan is put away) and The Feast of Tabernacles (The Wedding Feast)

Matt. 13:24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: ‚ÄúThe kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‚ÄėSir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?‚Äô 28 He said to them, ‚ÄėAn enemy has done this.‚Äô The servants said to him, ‚ÄėDo you want us then to go and gather them up?‚Äô 29 But he said, ‚ÄėNo, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, ‚ÄúFirst gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.‚ÄĚ

Pentecost is the start of the wheat harvest and the wheat is lost amongst the many false followers of the Messiah. The tares are then separated. By their works, you’ll know them, and the wheat is then saved in the King’s barn.

See how Yehshua himself explains it.

Matt 13: 36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, ‚ÄúExplain to us the parable of the tares of the field.‚ÄĚ 37 He answered and said to them: ‚ÄúHe who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. 39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

When Yehshua told the Apostles about the end time, and in particular, Matt.24:22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, those days will be shortened.

How could he shorten the time for the elect, unless, instead of our redemption taking place on the Feast of Trumpets as we have always been taught, it takes place on the Feast of Pentecost? He must do all things in relation to the Holy Days that He has had Israel performing since Mount Sinai. The Holy Days are a rehearsal of future events.

Conclusion

Yehshua was the wave sheaf of Passover or First Fruits, with an ‚ÄúS‚ÄĚ for more than one, and ascended to heaven with a host of captives, as Paul has said. The apostle John says that there are 24 elders in heaven today wearing crowns and worshipping Yehovah. These are those Yehshua led with Him on that Sunday that the wave offering of barley was presented in the Temple. The wave offering of Pentecost, the two wheat loaves, are those that have followed this way of life and obeyed the laws of Yehovah. Although not perfectly as is represented by the leaven in the offering. All those that have died since Yehshua‚Äôs death in 31 AD up until His return and those who are still alive at His return will be raised up at Shavuot or Pentecost.

1 Cor15:50-58¬†Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed‚ÄĒ in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‚ÄúDeath is swallowed up in victory.‚ÄĚ
“O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?‚ÄĚ
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

1 Thess 4:13-18 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Now compare these verses above to those that follow.

Isaiah 27:12-13 And it shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord will thresh,
From the channel of the River to the Brook of Egypt;
And you will be gathered one by one,
O you children of Israel.
So it shall be in that day:
The great trumpet will be blown;
They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria,
And they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt,
And shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

Exodus 19:16-19 Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice.

This is not a second resurrection, but it is part of the First Resurrection that began on the day Yehshua was raised from the dead. Just as the Wave Sheaf offering during the Days of Unleavened Bread is the beginning, so is Pentecost the conclusion of the Wave Offering 50 days later. Those raised with Messiah in 31 AD were the beginning and those alive at His return along with those that have died in His name will be raised up at Shavuot, Pentecost if they are keeping the Torah and the commandments. The one that those under the altar await.

Rev. 6:9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, ‚ÄúHow long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?‚ÄĚ 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

They are given white robes just as the 24 elders were dressed in white, representing righteousness, in preparation for the wedding. Matt 22. Where we must come dressed in righteousness in order to be a part of the wedding party.

Psalm 119:172 My tongue shall speak of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness.

Empty Handed

Honouring Yehovah

Many of you have come to know and understand the Holy Days.

Exo 23:14 You shall keep a feast to Me three times in the year.

Exo 23:15 You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. You shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, in the time appointed of the month Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. And no one shall appear before Me empty.

Exo 23:16 Also the Feast of Harvest, the first-fruits of your labors, which you have sown in the field. Also the Feast of Ingathering, in the end of the year, when you have gathered in your labors out of the field.

Exo 23:17 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God.

You are now working on perfecting your walk and being an active member of the Royal Kingdom as a future King or Priest. But do we only give Yehovah lip service? We often wonder why things are so tough all the time. And yet we are commanded to do certain things so that we can be blessed.

Deu 16:10  And you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to Jehovah your God with a measure of a free-will offering of your hand, which you shall give according as Jehovah your God has blessed you.

Deu 16:11  And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your slave girl, and the Levite inside your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, those among you, in the place which Jehovah your God has chosen to place His name there.

Deu 16:12  And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt. And you shall be careful to do these statutes.

The Feast of Booths

Deu 16:13  You shall keep the Feast of Tabernacles seven days after you have gathered in your grain floor and your wine press.

Deu 16:14  And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male slave, and your slave-girl, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow inside your gates.

Deu 16:15  Seven days you shall keep a solemn feast to Jehovah your God in the place which Jehovah shall choose. Because Jehovah your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.

Deu 16:16  Three times in a year shall all your males appear before Jehovah your God in the place which He shall choose: in the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and in the Feast of Weeks, and in the Feast of Tabernacles. And they shall not appear before Jehovah empty,

Deu 16:17  but each with his gift in his hand, according to the blessing of Jehovah your God, which He has given you.

Each Holy Day you are commanded to appear before Yehovah and to do so with your first fruits in your hands. How many of you actually obey this commandment? How many of you stop reading those articles that talk about tithing and do not read them at all? You get to choose how much you are to bring. You are told to do so according to the blessings Yehovah has already given you.

And you are told to do so rejoicing.

Giving to Yehovah or those doing His work is a way of expressing our thanks to Yehovah, who allows us to make any income at all. All of us are to set aside tithes for His work and His Holy Days. When we return to Yehovah what is already His, He promises abundant blessings.

Pro 3:9 Honor Jehovah with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase;

Pro 3:10 and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine.

Many want the blessings from Yehovah, but they do not understand it is a two-way street. You have obligations to do yourself.

The word “tithe” literally means “a tenth,” ¬†10¬†percent of one’s increase. Tithes are to be given on an ongoing basis as one receives income.

Offerings are different from tithes. A tithe is a tenth of your increase but offerings vary in the amount to be given and are determined by the person presenting the offering. They are only done at each of the Holy Days.

Psa 96:8 Give to Jehovah the glory due to His name; bring an offering, and come into His courts.

.Each crop was basically determined by Yehovah. You were to give back to His work a tenth part of what He had already given to you. Yehovah blessed you with that crop, He blessed you with that job, that source of income as already quoted in Deut 16:17

Lev 27:30¬†And all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Jehovah’s. It is holy to Jehovah.

Lev 27:31 And if a man will at all redeem anything of his tithes, he shall add to it the fifth part of it.

Lev 27:32 And all the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, all that passes under the rod, a tenth shall be holy to Jehovah

Lev 27:33 He shall not search whether it is good or bad, neither shall he change it. And if he changes it at all, then both it and the change of it shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed.

Lev 27:34 These are the commandments which Jehovah commanded Moses for the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai.

Week after week you wonder why Yehovah is not blessing you and you do not understand. Yet you continue to ask for the things you desire or need. Why does He not answer your prayers?

Hag 1:5 And now so says Jehovah of Hosts: Set your heart on your ways;

Hag 1:6 you have sown much and bring in little; you eat, but you do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you dress, but no one is warm; and he who hires out himself hires himself for a bag full of holes.

Hag 1:7 So says Jehovah of Hosts: Set your heart on your ways.

Hag 1:8 Go up the mountain and bring wood, and build this House; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, says Jehovah.

Hag 1:9 You looked for much, and behold, little! And when you brought it home, then I blew on it. Why, says Jehovah of Hosts? Because of My House that is waste, and you, each man runs to his own house.

Hag 1:10 Therefore the heavens above you have held back the dew, and the earth is held back from her produce.

Hag 1:11 And I called for a drought in the land, and on the mountains, and on the grain, and on the new wine, and on the oil, and on that which the ground brings forth, and on men, and on cattle, and on all the labor of your hands.

How many of you have redeemed your firstborn? A lady insisted I take her five pieces of silver as a redemption price for her firstborn child. I did not want to do it. I did not feel I was qualified. I have since discovered our family name McGowan used to indicate they were from the Kohen or the High Priest. On another family line, I have learned that our family name Le Master was another name for the High Priest. Does this qualify me? No.

That lady mailed me those five silver pieces as her redemption for her child. She sent them to me because she did not know where else to send them and she sees us doing a real work in these last days. They are for the House of Yehovah. They are not used coins but brand-new ones.

Exo 34:19 All that opens the womb is Mine; and all your male livestock, a firstling of ox or sheep.

Exo 34:20 But the firstling of an ass you shall redeem with a lamb. And if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. All the first-born of your sons you shall redeem. And none shall appear before Me empty.

Exo 34:21 You shall work six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

Exo 34:22¬†And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year’s end.

Exo 34:23 Three times in the year your men shall appear before the Lord Jehovah, the God of Israel.

Exo 34:24 For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders. Neither shall any man desire your land when you shall go up to appear before Jehovah your God three times in the year.

Exo 34:25 You shall not slaughter the blood of My sacrifice with leaven. Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left to the morning.

Exo 34:26¬†The first of the first-fruits of your land you shall bring to the house of Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.

You are commanded to bring an offering at each of the three Feasts. Passover, Shavuot and Sukkot. These are over and above the tithes you make. You do not know how Yehovah will bless you. But years from now you will look back and see that you were indeed blessed in ways you had not planned on.

Ecc 11:1 Cast your bread on the waters; for you shall find it after many days.

Ecc 11:2 Give a share to seven, and also to eight; for you know not what evil shall be on the earth.

Ecc 11:5¬†As you do not know what is the way of the spirit, as how the bones grow in the pregnant woman’s womb; even so you do not know the works of God who makes all.

Ecc 11:6 In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand; for you do not know what shall be blessed, either this or that, or whether they both shall be fruitful in the same way.

Are you helping to do this end-time work, or are you robbing Yehovah of His dues?

Mal 3:1 Behold, I will send My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And Jehovah, whom you seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of Hosts.

Mal 3:2¬†But who can endure the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fuller’s soap.

Mal 3:3 And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. And He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may be offerers of a food offering in righteousness to Jehovah.

Mal 3:4 Then the food offering of Judah and Jerusalem shall be pleasing to Jehovah, as in the days of old and as in former years.

Mal 3:5¬†And I will come near you to judgment. And I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those who extort from the hired laborer’s wages, and turning away the widow, and the orphan, the alien, and not fearing Me, says Jehovah of Hosts.

Robbing God

Mal 3:6 For I am Jehovah, I change not. Because of this you sons of Jacob are not destroyed.

Mal 3:7 From the days of your fathers, you have turned aside from My statutes, and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you, says Jehovah of Hosts. But you say. In what way shall we return?

Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering!

Mal 3:9 You are cursed with a curse; for you are robbing Me, the nation, all of it.

Mal 3:10 Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. And test Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, to see if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you, and pour out a blessing for you, until there is not enough room.

Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke your devourer, and he shall not decay the fruit of your ground against you; nor shall your vine miscarry against you in the field, says Jehovah of Hosts.

Mal 3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed; for you shall be a delightful land, says Jehovah of Hosts.

Mal 3:13 Your words have been strong against Me, says Jehovah. Yet you say, What have we spoken against You?

Mal 3:14 You have said, It is vain to serve God; and, What profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked as mourners before Jehovah of Hosts?

Mal 3:15 And now we are calling the arrogant blessed. Not only are the doers of wickedness built up, they also test God, and escape.

The Book of Remembrance

Mal 3:16 Then those fearing Jehovah spoke together, each man to his neighbor. And Jehovah listened and heard. And a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who feared Jehovah, and for those esteeming His name.

Mal 3:17 And they shall be Mine, says Jehovah of Hosts, for the day that I will make up My treasure. And I will pity them as a man has pity on his son who serves him.

Mal 3:18 Then you shall again see the differencebetween the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God, and him who does not serve Him.

If you feel that the things you have learned here at sightedmoon.com, through our weekly Sabbath teachings on zoom, or our weekly Newsletters, or our many books, articles and videos are a blessing to your spiritual growth, then why not help us to reach others and support this work. The tithes were collected for the Levites to do the work. To teach the Torah to the people.

Num 18:21 And behold, I have given the sons of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

The Cheerful Giver

2Co 9:6 But I say this, He who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully.

2Co 9:7 Each one, as he purposes in his heart, let him give; not of grief, or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that in everything, always having all self-sufficiency, you may abound to every good work;

2Co 9:9¬†As it is written, “He scattered; he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever.”

2Co 9:10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, may He supply and multiply your seed, and increase the fruits of your righteousness

2Co 9:11 you being enriched in everything to all generosity, which works out thanksgiving to God through us.

2Co 9:12 For the ministry of this service not only supplies the things lacking of the saints, but also multiplying through many thanksgivings to God,

2Co 9:13 through the proof of this ministry they glorify God for your freely expressed submission to the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of the fellowship toward them and toward all,

2Co 9:14 and in their prayer for you, who long after you, because of the exceeding grace of God on you.

2Co 9:15 Thanks be to God for His unspeakable free gift.

When Judah came back from the captivity they determined to take care of the Levites who took care of the business of Yehovah.

Neh 10:31 And if the people of the land should bring goods or any food on the Sabbath day to sell it, that we would not buy it from them on the Sabbath or on the holy day, and that we would leave the seventh year, and the interest of every debt.

Neh 10:32 Also we put commands upon ourselves, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God,

Neh 10:33 for the showbread, and for the continual meal offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.

Neh 10:34 And we cast the lots among the priests, and the Levites, and the people, for the wood offering, to bring into the house of our God, according to the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year, to burn upon the altar of Jehovah our God, as it iswritten in the Law

Neh 10:35 and to bring the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, to the house of Jehovah;

Neh 10:36 and to bring the first-born of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the Law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God;

Neh 10:37 and that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all kinds of trees, of wine and of oil, to the priests, to the rooms of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites, and they, the Levites, might have the tithes in all the cities we farmed.

Neh 10:38 And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes, and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the rooms, into the treasure house.

Neh 10:39 For the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi shall bring the offering of the grain, of the new wine, and the oil, to the rooms where the vessels of the sanctuary are, and the priests who minister, and the gatekeepers and the singers. And we will not forsake the house of our God.

Even though they said they would take care of the Levites, after a while, they stopped supporting them. Many of you do the same thing today. You are blessed to learn the Sabbatical and Jubilee Years. You make a $5 donation and move on to the next teacher hoping to glean new things from him, and then you keep on moving from one to the next. You do realize there are 354 days in a year? That the research and understanding comes from spending hours and months studying various books to learn what you took and left with.

Ephriam has few good teachers because they do not invest in supporting them and all the research the must do learning. Ephriam does not invest research and development into their teachers. Judah has done this the past 2000 years. They have sages to consult about most scriptures. We do not have these sages because we do not invest in them.

Many of you value the great understandings you have learned here. The Jubilee Cycle, the Daniel 9 revelation, the Abomination revelations, the Lev 26 understandings and much much more. Yet there are very few you who have supported this work these past 18 years in which it took time and effort to study and learn and to be available for Yehovah to reveal them to us.

When the support stopped coming in for the Levites they still had to eat and ended up supporting themselves and not teaching the people. Nehemia rebuked the rulers for not supporting them.

Neh 13:10 And I saw that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them; for the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled each one to his field.

Neh 13:11 And I contended with the rulers and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together and set them in their place.

Neh 13:12 And all Judah brought the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil into the treasuries.

Neh 13:13 And I made treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah. And next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah. For they were counted faithful, and their office was to distribute to their brothers.

Neh 13:14 Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds which I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices of it.

Many people have said to us why don’t you do this and why don’t you do that. The simple reason is we can’t afford it. We can’t afford to hire the people who could make those things happen. In years past, one lady gave us the proceeds from her selling the firstborn calves of her herd. That year we could afford to pay for the videos to be made and edited in 2013. Another family gave us a tithe of the inheritance they just received. That made it possible for us to publish The 2300 Days of Hell, which we did through a publisher. This was before I knew about Amazon. Everything you want for free costs a lot of money to research and produce in a way you can use it. Videos and books are not free. Considerable time and effort go into all of them on your behalf.

Right now, We are working to change all our funnels from an external source to one inside our website. It will save thousands of dollars each year and work much better. At the same time, we are streamlining all our accounting procedures into one automated process.  Everything we do here has to be relearned by James and myself. It takes weeks, months and years for us to figure some of these tech things out. There is a lot of time put into learning these things that are not seen by the public. And once it is seen, it is taken for granted. Too many people say it should always be free. No, there is a ton of work going on behind the scenes all the time, which has to be paid for by someone. The research and development of the 10 Days of Awe book, is going to stun many of you. It has taken two years to develop it into what is now the Elijah Trilogy.

If you are telling yourself you can’t afford to tithe, then you are lying to yourself. What you need to be saying is You can’t afford NOT to tithe! You can’t afford to no longer be blessed by Yehovah. Like Nehemia, determine in your mind what you are going to do and stick to it. If you are saying you are a ministry and do not need to tithe, then you need to understand that the Levites tithed to Aaron, as you just read in Neh 10:38.

Duties of Priests and Levites

Num 18:1¬†¬†And Jehovah said to Aaron, You and your sons, and your father’s house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary. And you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.

Num 18:2  And bring your brothers also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father with you, so that they may be joined to you and minister to you, you and your sons with you, before the tabernacle of witness.

Num 18:3  And they shall keep your charge and the charge of all the tabernacle. Only they shall not come near the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, so that neither they nor you also may die.

Num 18:4  And they shall be joined to you, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle. And a stranger shall not come near you.

Num 18:5  And you shall keep the charge of the sanctuary and the charge of the altar, so that there may be no wrath any more upon the sons of Israel.

Num 18:6  And I, behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from among the sons of Israel. They are given to you as a gift by Jehovah, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Num 18:7¬†¬†Therefore you and your sons with you shall keep your priests’ office for everything of the altar and inside the veil. And you shall serve. I have given your priest’s office as a service of gift. And the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.

Num 18:8  And Jehovah spoke to Aaron, Behold, I have also given you the charge of My heave offerings of all the holy things of the sons of Israel. I have given them to you for the anointing, and to your sons, by an ordinance forever.

Num 18:9  This shall be yours of the most holy things, reserved from the fire, every sacrifice of theirs, every food offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which they shall give Me. These are most holy for you and for your sons.

Num 18:10  You shall eat it in the Holy of Holies. Every male shall eat it. It shall be holy to you.

Num 18:11  And this is yours, the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the sons of Israel. I have given them to you and to your sons and to your daughters with you, by a statute forever. Everyone that is clean in your house shall eat it.

Num 18:12  All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the first-fruits of them which they shall offer to Jehovah, I have given them to you.

Num 18:13  The first fruits of all that is in the land, which they shall bring to Jehovah, shall be yours. Everyone that is clean in your house shall eat of it.

Num 18:14  Everything devoted in Israel shall be yours.

Num 18:15  Everything that opens the womb in all flesh, which they bring to Jehovah, of men or animals, shall be yours. Nevertheless, the first-born of man you shall surely redeem, and the first-born of unclean animals you shall redeem.

Num 18:16  And those that are to be redeemed from a month old you shall redeem, according to your judgment for the silver of five shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.

Num 18:17  But the first-born of a cow, or the first-born of a sheep, or the first-born of a goat, you shall not redeem. They are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shall burn their fat, an offering made by fire, for a sweet savor to Jehovah.

Num 18:18  And their flesh shall be yours, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are yours.

Num 18:19  All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the sons of Israel offer to Jehovah, I have given you and your sons and your daughters with you, by a law forever. It is a covenant of salt forever before Jehovah to you and to your seed with you.

Num 18:20  And Jehovah said to Aaron, You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any part among them. I am your part and your inheritance among the sons of Israel.

Num 18:21  And behold, I have given the sons of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Num 18:22  Neither must the sons of Israel come near the tabernacle of the congregation from now on, lest they bear sin and die.

Num 18:23  But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity, a statute forever throughout your generations, that among the sons of Israel they have no inheritance.

Num 18:24  But the tithes of the sons of Israel, which they offer as a heave offering to Jehovah, I have given to the Levites to inherit. Therefore I have said to them, Among the sons of Israel they shall have no inheritance.

Num 18:25  And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,

Num 18:26  And you shall speak to the Levites, and you shall say to them, When you take tithes from the sons of Israel, which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up a heave offering of it for Jehovah, a tenth of the tithe.

Num 18:27  And your heave offering shall be credited to you as grain of the threshing-floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.

Num 18:28¬†¬†So you also shall offer a heave offering to Jehovah of all your tithes which you receive from the sons of Israel. And you shall give from it Jehovah’s heave offering to Aaron the priest.

Num 18:29  Out of all your gifts you shall offer every heave offering of Jehovah, of all its fat, the holy part of it out of it.

Num 18:30  And you shall say to them, When you have lifted up its fat, then it shall be credited to the Levites as the increase of the threshing-floor, and as the increase of the winepress.

Num 18:31  And you shall eat it in every place, you and your households. For it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.

Num 18:32  And you shall bear no sin because of it, when you have lifted up the fat of it. Neither shall you defile the holy things of the sons of Israel, lest you die.

Shavuot is the 8th Holy Day of Counting the Omer

Shavuot is the 8th Holy Day of Counting the Omer

Preamble to this weeks Study

This week once more let us summarize what we have covered thus far in our study of the Eighth Day Feast.

Firstly that Yehshua kept the Eighth Day Feast, as we are told in John 10:22 and that this Eighth Day Feast was also known as the Feast of Dedication which came at the end of Sukkot. Although dedication means chanukah in Hebrew, this day was in no way connected to the feast currently known as the Feast of Chanukah kept around Christmas (The false feast of Hanukkah is about 13 Days from now).

Next you learned that in order to understand this Feast Day you had to ask for wisdom, knowledge and understanding to gain the righteousness you need to be in the Kingdom. All of this is given to you as you obey the commandment and this is how we show Yehovah we love Him, by keeping the commandments. These are the laws of that Kingdom, which you as a Priest are going to teach, or as a King you’re going to enforce those laws.

Next you were shown that Yehovah desires to dwell with us. But we must keep the rules of the Kingdom, which are the Ten Commandments. We are to put sin out of our lives in order to be a part of that Kingdom as shown to us in the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Yehshua was the first fruit to come back to life from the grave, defeating Satan who had the power of death and the grave until that time. The 24 elders are part of those first fruits who were once human beings on this earth and came out of the grave when Yehshua did, as we read in Matthew 27. This is represented by the barley wave offering each year. The 7 days of Unleavened Bread are represented in the 7 millennial days leading up to the 8th Day Feast or the 8th Millennium; the 7 Millennium of man represent putting sin out of our existence in the same way as does the Days of Unleavened Bread.

The First Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread we likened to when Adam was killed for sinning on the first millennial day, in the same way the first born of Egypt died on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, otherwise known as Passover night.

The Seventh Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is represented by the time when the Egyptian armies were destroyed when the frozen walls of water came crashing back down on them after Israel had crossed over the Red Sea. This represents the time at the end of the 7th millennium when Satan will be cast into the lake of fire along with the grave and death. This 7th day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread also represents all of those who are going to keep the Torah also known as the Holy Spirit represented by the water, cross over from sin in Egypt under Satan to rule under Yehovah. This is like a mikveh or baptism of water. The 7th Millennium we will be washed with the spirit of Yehovah for the entire millennium

The 7th Day weekly Sabbath is then compared to the 7th Millennial Rest. Again, in all of this we are learning about the 8th Day Feast.

We then had to stop our teachings about the Holy Days in comparing them to the millenniums and address the false teachings about hell, which cloud and confuse people about the Eighth Day Feast. Once you remove these false teachings from your mind, then the truth will be more readily visible and the Eighth Day Feast easier to understand.

Heaven and Hell go hand in hand and the false teachings about you going to heaven abound just as they do for you going to hell. Once again Satan is confusing the truth of Yehovah’s plan of Salvation in order to keep you from being a part of it. So we had to look at Heaven and whether or not you or anyone goes there. Once we remove the false teachings, only then can we understand the truth of the Eighth Day Feast and the awesomeness of Yehovah.

We had to look at these two subjects as we had just started to look at the 7 days of Unleavened Bread, which are our first clues about the plan of Salvation.

Having covered Unleavened Bread we are now going to look at Shavuot or the Feast of Pentecost and the Feast of Trumpets and the Jubilee year. Again we have another big study covering a lot of ground as we look at the Eighth Day and the Plan of Salvation.

Every person in his own order

In our article on Heaven we quote the following;

The fact that Yehshua was resurrected as a forerunner of the future resurrection of His followers is understood by many Bible readers. What is not so clear to many is that the Bible describes more than one resurrection.

In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul writes: ‚ÄúBut now, Christ is risen from the dead, the¬†first-fruit¬†of those who have fallen asleep . . . For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ¬†all¬†will be made alive.¬†But each in his own order;¬†Christ the first-fruits, then those who belong to Christ at his appearing. And then the end, when he shall hand over his kingdom to God his Father‚ÄĚ (verses 20-24, Montgomery New Testament).

The reference to firstfruits indicates that¬†other¬†fruits are to follow‚ÄĒYehshua here followed by those who are His at His return. Paul specifies that Yehovah has set an order in His plan by which He will bring up everyone‚ÄĒ‚ÄĚall,‚ÄĚ as it says‚ÄĒin a resurrection. And in this order, not everyone will be resurrected¬†at the same time.

Notice that Yehshua is here called the firstfruits. Yet His followers are elsewhere called firstfruits themselves‚ÄĒand firstborn (James:1:18;¬†Revelation:14:4;¬†Hebrews:12:23). Thus Yehshua is the first of the firstfruits. The implication is that yet others will follow as later fruits‚ÄĒat ‚Äúthe end,‚ÄĚ as we saw in¬†1 Corinthians:15:24. And other scriptures confirm that, as we will see.

Those who believe that people go to heaven or hell at death have been troubled at the indications they see in Scripture that comparatively few will be saved. They frequently base this assumption on such passages as¬†Matthew:7:13-14: ‚ÄúEnter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.‚ÄĚ

In these verses Yehshua explains what happens in ‚Äúthis present evil age‚ÄĚ (Galatians:1:4), in which Yehovah¬†is not calling everyone to be converted¬†now.¬†We read in¬†Revelation:12:9¬†that Satan ‚Äúdeceives the whole world.‚ÄĚ John writes,

‚ÄúWe know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one‚ÄĚ (1 John:5:19).

Mankind as a whole is deceived‚ÄĒ¬†for the time being.¬†Yehshua states,

‚ÄúNo one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day‚ÄĚ (John:6:44).

Yehshua plainly indicates here that only certain ones will be in the resurrection to which He refers‚ÄĒthose who are specifically called by Yehovah. The Bible teaches that in this particular age‚ÄĒthe age preceding the 7th¬†millennium‚ÄĒYehovah is calling only a small portion of mankind to enter and partake of His Kingdom.

We saw part of this in the first wave offering in our study about Yehovah dwelling with us, when we looked at The Days of Unleavened Bread.

I would like you all to now go and read our article from 2005 titled Pentecost’s Hidden Meaning.

Having now read Pentecost’s Hidden Meaning consider the purpose of this day of Shavuot.

In Exodus 19 and 20 it is the day Yehovah gave Israel the Ten Commandments from His own voice. This was the very day Israel saw the cloud on the Mountain of Sinai and heard Yehovah speak these words Himself. This is also the very same day that the Holy Spirit was given to the Apostles in the book of Acts.

If you have read the article on Pentecost as I have asked you to, then you will also understand that on this day is the second wave offering which represents    when all those who turned back to Yehovah in keeping His commandments, from the Apostles down to us today who will be alive at that time, will be raised back to life or changed to spirit beings. We are the wheat in that bread that is waved before Yehovah.

Now consider the following verses in chronological order.

We read of the first Passover Yehshua went up to Jerusalem in John.

Joh 2:13 And the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Joh 2:23 And as He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, at the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the miracles which He did.

After Passover comes Shavuot or Pentecost. And it was as this Feast day approached that Yehshua stated the following, warning HIs apostles not to look at the harvest of Sukkot which was 4 months away, but to look to the harvest at hand, the Wheat harvest of Shavuot.

Joh 4:35 Do you not say, It is yet four months, and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are white to harvest already.

Again before Yehshua said that He was talking to a woman at the well about water.

Joh 4:13  Jesus answered and said to her, Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again, 14  but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

But He was giving us a veiled hint at the meaning of the Feast of Shavuot, which came to pass just 3 years later when the Apostles were given this Holy Spirit on Shavuot.

Water is a symbol, a ‚Äútype,‚ÄĚ of the spirit of Yehovah, and is often used analogously to represent the holy spirit. In Scripture, Yehovah¬†is also known as ‚Äúthe Holy Spirit‚ÄĚ, the ‚Äúspring of living waters.‚ÄĚ

Jer 2:13  For My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, to hew out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.

Isa 44:3  For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground. I will pour My spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring; 4and they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water-courses.

After Yehshua spoke with the women at the well we read of this Feast that Yehshua went up to Jerusalem to keep.

Joh 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

John 6:35 is a key verse in the record, and it reads:

‚ÄúThen Jesus declared, ‚ÄėI am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.‚Äô‚ÄĚ

In John 7, he proved it by referring to the Old Testament, of which he himself is the subject. The promised Messiah was Yehovah, the eternal fountain, the spring of living water, sent to give drink to a dying world. And what is that ‚Äúliquid‚ÄĚ refreshment? As verse 39 emphasizes, it is the holy spirit, again analogously referred to as water. But this time, it is at the end of Sukkot and just as the Feast of the Eighth Day was about to begin.

Joh 7:37¬†¬†And in the last day of the great feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.¬†38¬† He who believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, ‚ÄúOut of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.‚Ä̬†39¬† (But He spoke this about the Spirit, which they who believed on Him should receive; for¬†the¬†Holy Spirit was not yet¬†given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

That Holy Spirit was given as promised on the Feast day of Shavuot in 31 C.E.

Act 2:1  And in the fulfilling of the day of Pentecost, they were all with one accord in one place. 2  And suddenly a sound came out of the heaven as borne along by the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3  And tongues as of fire appeared to them, being distributed; and it sat upon each of them. 4  And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Act 2:33  Therefore being exalted to the right of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this which you now see and hear.

When John the Baptist came as a forerunner to the Messiah, many people asked him if he was the Messiah. Look closely at his reply:

Luk 3:15  And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts concerning John, lest perhaps he was the Christ, 16  John answered all, saying, I indeed baptize you with water, but He who is mightier than I comes, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to loose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire, 17  whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor and will gather the wheat into His storehouse. But He will burn the chaff with unquenchable fire.

When each of us are baptized into the family of Yehovah by complete immersion in running or live water, we are in fact stating publicly our death to the flesh or the old man, and our rebirth or impregnating of the Holy Spirit in us. We are not yet spiritual beings but we are growing in spiritual knowledge and understanding the same way a fetus grows but is not yet born.

The Holy Spirit, like water, is used to wash us of our sins of our uncleanness.

Hebrews 9:10 mentions ‚Äúvarious ceremonial washings‚ÄĚ in the Law, and the Greek word for ‚Äúwashings‚ÄĚ there is ‚Äúbaptisms.‚ÄĚ Yehovah¬†could have easily used one of several other Greek words, such as¬†pluno, which is used of washing inanimate things;¬†nipto, used of washing a part of the body; or¬†louo, which means ‚Äúto bathe‚ÄĚ or ‚Äúto wash the entire body.‚ÄĚ Instead, He chose ‚Äúbaptisms‚ÄĚ to refer to the Old Testament washings.

Exodus 30:17-21 mentions the bronze basin that was placed between the door of the Tabernacle and the altar so the priests could wash their hands and feet, thus ceremonially purifying themselves so they would not die in the presence of God. Water baptism under the Law was also representative of the one baptized going down into the grave and then being re-born unto life.

According to Exodus 40:12, Aaron and his sons were brought to the Tabernacle and washed with water. When Solomon built the Temple in Jerusalem, he had a basin cast of bronze that was so large the Bible calls it ‚Äúthe Sea.‚ÄĚ Scholars estimate that it held about 12,000 gallons of water and was a source of water for bathing, which was sometimes done by pouring the water over the man, and sometimes by putting it in a different container (2 Chron. 4:6).

The Mosaic Law was full of regulations about washing. There were many different things that a person could do that would make him unclean, and often the Law said that he then had to wash in water in order to re-enter the congregation. Compare Leviticus 14:9; 15:7,8,11,13,21,22,27; 16:26,28, and note the following similar verses:

(Lev 17:15) And any soul that eats a dead body, or a torn thing, whether a native or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening. Then he shall be clean.16But if he does not wash, nor bathe his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.

Now that we understand the relationship of water and the Holy Spirit from the scriptures let us get back to those thing Yehshua was saying in John leading up to Shavuot. In John 5 this mysterious Feast of the Jews is Shavuot which was approaching.

Joh 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Now listen carefully to what Yehshua was saying. This is huge, especially now in hind site. Especially now because we know what took place at Passover on the first wave sheaf day. Shavuot is the next time or the completion of the second wave sheaf which began to be counted from the first wave sheaf during Passover.

Joh 5:25 Truly, truly, I say to you, The hour is coming and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they who hear shall live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has given to the Son to have life within Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves shall hear His voice, 29 and shall come forth, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have practiced evil to the resurrection of condemnation.

A few short years later Yehshua would rise up from the grave and lead a host of captives with Him.

Eph 4:8¬†¬†Therefore He says, ‚ÄúWhen He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive and gave gifts to men.‚ÄĚ

Psa 68:18  You have gone up on high; You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts for men, yes, for the rebellious also, that You might dwell among them, O Jehovah God.

1Co 15:20  But now Christ has risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruit of those who slept. 21For since death is through man, the resurrection of the dead also is through a Man. 22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in his own order: Christ the first-fruit, and afterward they who are Christ’s at His coming; 24then is the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He makes to cease all rule and all authority and power.

Again these first fruits were raised from the grave when Yehshua rose during Passover 31 C.E. Before that date no man had gone to heaven except the son of man who came down from heaven. Those captives are those held captive by the grave which is what Satan had control over until that time.

2Ti 2:26  and that they awake out of the snare of the Devil, having been taken captive by him, so as to do the will of that one.

Being a servant of Satan is sin which leads to death and captivity.

Those 24 Elders or ancestors in revelation were raised up at that time with Yehshua. They were part of that wave offering done Sunday Morning which is also when the count to Shavuot begins from.

Mat 27:52  and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep arose, 53 and coming out of the tomb after His resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

Again returning to the Apostle John about this Feast of the Jews we now know that this is the Feast of Shavuot. Another thing that Yehshua says at this time about this Feast is that only those whom the Father is calling will be raised up at this special time.

Joh 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

That last day is the last day of the counting of the Omer, the 50th day, Shavuot. It is on this day of Shavuot that those of us who are alive and all of those who have lived and died believing in the Messiah and Yehovah, the same person, since Passover 31 C.E. up until this time, (WHich I beleive to be 2033 in our near future), will be changed and or raised up.

1Co 15:51  Behold, I speak a mystery to you; we shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed; 52  in a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed. 53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

It is at this time and this time only that you will be born again as a spirit being as Paul has just told you. Only then do you put on immortality.

Isa 12:1  And in that day you shall say, O Jehovah, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, turn away Your anger, and You shall comfort me. 2  Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also has become my salvation. 3  And with joy you shall draw water out of the wells of salvation. 4  And in that day you shall say, Praise Jehovah! Call on His name; declare His doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted. 5  Sing to Jehovah; for He has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. 6  Cry out and shout, O dweller of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst.

Remember what we showed you in John 7. Yehovah is salvation and Yehshua is Salvation. He is the wells of

Now we just read in 1 Corinthians about being raised at the last trumpet and many just assume this to be speaking of the Feast of Trumpets. But the Feast of trumpets does not teach us about us being raised from the dead. Instead it teaches us about the coming of Yehshua’s birth in 3 BC and of His coming at the end of the 7th Millennium just before the 8th one is to begin. So what is Corinthians telling us?

Look at the examples of Trumpets on Shavuot that we already have.

Exo 19:16  And it happened on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mountain. And the voice of the trumpet was exceedingly loud, so that all the people in the camp trembled. 17  And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God. And they stood at the lower part of the mountain. 18  And Mount Sinai was smoking, all of it, because Jehovah came down upon it in fire. And the smoke of it went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. 19  And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and became very strong, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice. 20  And Jehovah came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain.

Eze 43:2  And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. And His voice was like the sound of many waters. And the earth shone with His glory.

Psa 93:4  Jehovah on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Rev 19:1  And after these things I heard a great sound of a numerous crowd in Heaven, saying, Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and honor and the power to the Lord our God! 2  For true and righteous are His judgments. For He has judged the great harlot who defiled the earth with her fornication, and He has avenged the blood of His servants out of her hand. 3  And secondly they said, Hallelujah! And her smoke rose up forever and ever. 4  And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God sitting on the throne, saying, Amen! Hallelujah! 5  And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all His servants, and the ones fearing Him, the small and great. 6  And I heard as the sound of a great multitude, and as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of strong thunders, saying, Hallelujah! For the Lord God omnipotent reigns! 7  Let us be glad and rejoice and we will give glory to Him. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has prepared herself.

Whenever the King or the Queen is about to enter there is the blasting of Trumpets and the crowds shouting out. This earthly act is the same as when Yehovah is going to come and each time He has come to earth there were loud long blasts as we have just read.

The Feast of Shavuot is when we will be changed to spirit beings. So, how is this all tied into the Eighth Day Feast?

First of all it is showing us the second phase of Yehovah’s Plan of Salvation. Phase one was when the Saints were raised to life during the first wave offering. The second phase is when the rest of the Saints up to that time, when this happens in a few short years, will be changed to spirit beings. The third phase is at the Eighth Day and we have yet to talk about it and will not at this time.

The Feast of Shavuot is the 8th Sabbath.

Lev 23:15  And you shall count to you from the next day after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete. 16 To the next day after the seventh sabbath you shall number fifty days. And you shall offer a new food offering to Jehovah.

This is the exact same thing for the Jubilee year which is also the eighth Sabbatical year.

Lev 25:8  And you shall number seven sabbaths of years to you, seven times seven years. And the time of the seven sabbaths of years shall be forty-nine years to you. 9Then you shall cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth of the seventh month; in the day of atonement, the trumpet shall sound throughout all your land. 10And you shall make the fiftieth year holy, one year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee to you, and you shall return each man to his possession, and you shall return each man to his family. 11  That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee to you. You shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself in it, nor gather in it of your undressed vine. 12For it is the jubilee. It shall be holy to you. You shall eat the increase of it out of the field.

When we examine this word Jubilee we learn a few more things about it. Notice that the word for Jubilee is Teruah. This is the same word used for the Feast of Teruah or the Feast of Trumpets. Also notice these Teruah are used for both joy and a battle cry.

H3104      ???    ????     yo?be?l  yo?be?l    yo-bale’, yo-bale’

Apparently from¬†H2986; the¬†blast¬†of a horn (from its¬†continuous¬†sound); specifically the¬†signal¬†of the silver trumpets; hence the instrument itself and the festival thus introduced: ‚Äď jubile, ram‚Äôs horn, trumpet.

H2986     ???     ya?bal     yaw-bal’

A primitive root; properly to¬†flow; causatively to¬†bring¬†(especially with pomp): ‚Äď bring (forth), carry, lead (forth).

H8643     ???????     teru??a?h     ter-oo-aw’

From¬†H7321;¬†clamor, that is,¬†acclamation¬†of joy or a¬†battlecry; especially¬†clangor¬†of trumpets, as an¬†alarum: ‚Ästalarm, blow (-ing) (of, the) (trumpets), joy, jubile, loud noise, rejoicing, shout (-ing), (high, joyful) sound (-ing).

H7321     ????    ru?a?   roo-ah’

A primitive root; to¬†mar¬†(especially by breaking); figuratively to¬†split¬†the ears (with sound), that is,¬†shout¬†(for alarm or joy): ‚Äď blow an alarm, cry (alarm, aloud, out), destroy, make a joyful noise, smart, shout (for joy), sound an alarm, triumph.

The Feast of Trumpets and the Jubilee year are an announcement. But not just any announcement. They are announcing the arrival of THE KING, of Yehovah. This is beyond my ability to adjectively say how huge this is. But the Feast of Sukkot is symbolic of what is to come just before the Eighth Day Feast. It is at the end of the 7th Millennium that the Jubilee year will announce the coming of the GREAT KING YEHOVAH in that 8th Millennium.

We are commanded to keep Sukkot with Joyfulness. It is known as the Feast of Joy.

Deu 16:13  You shall keep the Feast of Tabernacles seven days after you have gathered in your grain floor and your wine press. 14 And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male slave, and your slave-girl, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow inside your gates. 15 Seven days you shall keep a solemn feast to Jehovah your God in the place which Jehovah shall choose. Because Jehovah your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.

It is the Feast of Trumpets that warns us of war and judgment leading into the 10 days of Awe and concluding on the Day of Atonement. These are the Trumpets of battle cries. But those trumpets of Shavuot and leading up to the Eighth Day are not battle cries but ones of Joy. We will cover more in upcoming articles on the Eighth Day and the great meaning it represents in Yehovah’s plan of Salvation for all mankind.

Num 10:1  And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying, 2  Make two trumpets of silver for yourself. You shall make them of beaten work. And they shall be used for the calling of the assembly and for causing the camps to go forward. 3  And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall gather themselves to you at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 4  And if they blow with one, then the rulers who are heads of the thousands of Israel shall gather themselves to you. 5  When you blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall pull up stakes. 6  When you blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall pull up stakes. They shall blow an alarm for their journeys. 7  But when the congregation is to be gathered, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm. 8  And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets. And they shall be to you for an ordinance forever throughout your generations. 9  And if you go to war in your land against the enemy who fights against you, then you shall blow with the trumpets. And you shall be remembered before Jehovah your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies. 10  Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings. And they shall be to you for a memorial before Jehovah. I am Jehovah your God.

    I read this

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora_Mardiganian

Aurora Mardiganian recalled sixteen young Armenian girls being “crucified” by their Ottoman tormentors. Auction of Souls showed the victims nailed to crosses. However, almost 70 years later Mardiganian revealed to film historian Anthony Slide that the scene was inaccurate:

The Turks didn’t make their crosses like that. The Turks made little pointed crosses. They took the clothes off the girls. They made them bend down, and after raping them, they made them sit on the pointed wood, through the vagina. That’s the way they killed – the Turks. Americans have made it a more civilized way. They can’t show such terrible things.

Why do you say ‚ÄúNotice that the word for Jubilee is Teruah.‚ÄĚ?

These are two different words in Hebrew, the Hebrew for ‚Äėjubilee‚Äô is ‚Äėyovel‚Äô, and the Hebrew for ‚Äėtrumpets‚Äô as in the Feast of Trumpets is ‚Äėteruah‚Äô.
