What Pagan Sign Represents your Faith

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

News Letter 5844-040

21st day of the Ninth month 5844 years after creation

December 20, 2008

Shabbat Shalom Brethren,

Greetings, to the many new readers who are reading this News Letter for the first time.

Sightedmoon.com is dedicated to bringing you the scriptural truth about the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. Where most people go to the scriptures to learn about how Yahweh will bless them for going to church, I tend to show you where Yahweh has said He will curse those who do not keep His commandments. In particularly Lev 26 where He lays out these curses in order of how they will happen and when they are to fall upon man.

I do this by showing you the nightly news which confirms the scriptures. Then I also go off and show you the reader where you may have strayed from Torah. This is often painful. Many over the past few weeks are very upset and have unsubscribed from the News Letter. They enjoyed reading those things I have to say on many subjects until I came to one that they held in high regard. That was the one they would not change on.

Some of them were Jewish who objected to the Shabbat candles article. Next were the Messianic who objected strongly to the Chanukah article. Last week we had many of the Christians unsubscribe because of the Molech teaching on sacrificing babies on Dec 25th. I have also had many write who agree with what I have said. You see brethren I favor no one group. I point out those things that are not kosher no matter what group they are in. I am interested in getting back to Torah and it alone.

This is an extensive study and has taken a great deal of research on my part. I hope you all will take the time to read to the very end. I know this one is long. It had to be to cover all the bases. So what symbol represents your faith?

Is it the Fish, or the Cross? Or is it the Star of David? Maybe event he crescent moon with the star in it. Which ever one it is, can you prove it is not a symbol of a pagan god? If you can not, then why do you use it to show your faith? Read on if want to know what is what and why it is so.

In spite of those who leave the number of readership has grown to over 9300. The web site has surpassed 250,000 hits. Those who read this News Letter are from all over the world and from places I never heard of.

We have just three months until the Sabbatical year begins. We have just over 1 year until we are in the sabbatical cycle of years of famine and pestilence and just over 8 years until the war cycle. Please add as many friends and relatives and brethren to the email list or send the list to me and I will add them for you. I know many of you use these teachings to share with you home group or meetings. Others print it out and mail it to many of the brethren. As you can see I do not sell Yahweh’s word. It is free, so share it freely with those you care about.

Now that many have already exited this web site we shall shake the tree even harder this week and we will see how many will not change and leave and how many will prove these things true or false and then know for fact what is right or wrong.

And Brethren, lest any one think I am a hard-ass, let me assure you I do empathize with those who have been mislead. If I could I would I go after those who have left and reason with them. The whole reason I am saying these things is because I do care. This upcoming Sabbatical year, which starts at Aviv, 2009 has blessings for those who keep it. I do not want you to miss those blessings because you are worshiping another god.

Before I get into this weeks teaching here is an article from the Financial Times warning of a wheat shortage in 2009. For those who are new, this is part of the second and third curse of Lev 26 being played out in real life on the nightly news.

Financial Times | December 9 2008

Sharp drop in Argentine Wheat output forecast

Wheat output from Argentina, the world’s number-four exporter, is set to fall by more than 37 percent in 2008-09 as slumping commodities prices, state regulation and a combination of drought, frost and searing heat in farming regions have battered prospects for the agricultural sector.

The area sown with wheat will be at a 30-year low and producers’ groups say this will be compounded by a drop of up to 25 percent in the 2008-09 harvest of corn, of which Argentina is the world’s number-two exporter.

The drop in Argentina’s cereals exports will have ramifications not only at home-farming is the top foreign exchange earner but also beyond, as it is a key supplier to countries across the globe. Although this year’s world wheat harvest is much better than last, Pedro Peretti, a director at the Argentine Agriculture Federation, predicts the fall in output will have an :enormous impact, especially on Brazil.: Brazil imports more than half its wheat from Argentina. …

Last week in my introduction I had an article from the news about the avian bird flue which had killed 113 out the 139 confirmed cases. A few weeks ago I also wrote to many of you about falling prey to the conspiracy teachings and how they are false teachings and rumors mixed in with the truth. Satan is the tree of good and evil.

It was not one week after writing that article that I began to receive many story’s about President elect Obama, being the anti Christ. This was amazing because before Obama was even nominated President Bush was the anti Christ and was going to create totalitarian government and he was going to stay on for ever. Will in one month he is out of office. I find it hard to believe that so many of you are so gullible, that you continue to believe such non biblical nonsense. It clearly does show how shallow your understanding of scriptures truly is.

The reason I say this is because of how these conspiracy teachings will mislead you and blind you to the truth. They fill your mind with so much garbage that you have a hard time to distinguish fact from fiction. I reluctantly share this email I received this past week. I am reluctant because some of you may believe what they say.

The Avian (bird) flu is a hoax. The false threat was manufactured to get unsuspecting people to their Dr’s and health clinics to be inoculated with more Government inspired poisons. And not just the evil Gov’t of the USA is involved. However America was the guinea pig to see if the hoax would work. For the most part it was fairly successful. Old people and babies were brought in by the millions to get their toxic shots. Then the hoax was taken to the world. Maybe you should be asking what was really in those shots?

This faked flu is not the danger… The danger is Your Government and the people who trust it.

Sporadic and unrelated deaths is not a reason to plant lying seeds in the minds of those who read your stuff.

How long has the Avian Flu Scare been pushed on people… 5 years? !0 years?

There have been Flu epidemics but there has never been any Avian Flu outbreaks or epidemics among humans.

I believe you are desperate to make a name (prophetic?) for yourself and you are behaving in a very irresponsible manor.

Here we have an article telling us that wild animals, birds, carrying H5N1 avian influenza virus have infected and killed some ones children. Will I be writing the same things about your children being robbed of their lives very soon?

Avian influenza “situation in Indonesia“ update 45

9 December 2008 — The Ministry of Health (Government Agency) of Indonesia has announced two new confirmed (Confirmed by WHO?) cases of human infection with the H5N1 avian influenza virus. A 9-year-old female from Riau Province developed symptoms on 7 November and was hospitalized on 12 November. She recovered and was discharged from hospital on 27 November.

Brethren, as many of you know I would be very happy to be sitting here at home drinking a beer and chasing my wife around the house, rather than sending out these emails and teachings about the Jubilee and the false teachings that some are following. I have no desire to do this. But I see no one else teaching the Sabbatical and Jubilee message and the curses that are now already upon us. For that reason I keep going.

I had a perfectly fine name in Pipelines and the last thing I wanted was to be associated with any type of religious activity. No this is not my choice to do this, but I fear Yeshua more than I fear the reproach of men.

The third curse of Lev 23 is going to rob you of your children. Yahweh is going to send pestilence. Whether it is the bird flue or something else does not matter. It is coming and will be here during the next 8 years. Are you ready?

I have also been blessed this week to receive many emails form those who have profited from the News Letter. The first one is from someone who studied the five long articles I wrote about Noah’s Ark and read the Article Conjunction or sighted Which? Which tells you from scriptures exactly when Yeshua was born. Sept 11, 3 BC and not Dec 25.

I am back to studying – Sept. 11, my , my.
I hope members of my family will accept THAT one!
Well, Truth is truth, and then there’s everything else.
Back to the Books!!!
Later- Sharon

ps: THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR STUDY ABOUT ALL THIS!
GOD BLESS YOU. (I tell people; God blesses RIGHTEOUSNESS, get that straight.
Usually this comes in response to the generic statement of “God Bless America”- well, HOW is He supposed to bless
infanticide/pornography/corruption/satanism??? He’ll BLESS us if we do RIGHT. Then, and ONLY then.)- anyway-back to the books for me!

Sharon

Good Evening Joseph!
I’ve been reading your articles for about a year now. Father has truly given you wisdom with understanding concerning the Jubilee and Sabbatical years. Your latest article on Chanukah is long over due. If we are truly going to follow the ways of our Father then we must lay man’s feasts to the
side. Personal info Edited
I know that our Father has given you much wisdom with understanding concerning so many things. I’ve grown much from reading your articles and I know that I will
continue to.
Elaine

I enjoy the weekly emails from Sighted Moon. Thank you, and may God bless you.
Jason

Dear Mr. Dumond:
As always, thank you for your newsletter! I am sorry you lost subscribers. Yes, the last one was very hard hitting. I always wondered where God commanded to light candles, thought it had to be somewhere!
God Bless you Joseph Dumond.

Hello Joe,
I don’t think you’re taking any prisoners here. It’s interesting how some people fight harder for the traditions they like and hold than the real religious beliefs they hold. Keep trying to do right, just make sure the server doesn’t get attacked by people with pitch forks (I mean this as a joke).

My last comment comes from some one I hold in high regard. A Pastor from a group I used to attend. I was thinking of quitting the News Letter, and he said to me, I do not agree with everything you have to say. In fact I strongly disagree with you on some subjects. But each week you write things and teach many people, truths that most people never hear in any church group. Even I get a precious pearl almost every week from something you have studied into. Some of the teachings you show us are most amazing. Keep doing what you are doing and do not stop.
name withheld

With that said let us now begin to once again shake the tree.

This week we will look at what ever symbol you use to identify your faith. They all have the same meaning when we peel back history and examine them. Are you ready to be shook again?

Let me begin by repeating some of what I said in last weeks News Letter.

In Ezekiel 14: 19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land and pour out My fury on it in blood, and cut off from it man and beast, 20 even though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, says the Lord God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.

Psalm 119: 172 My tongue shall speak of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness.

Unless you have the righteousness of Noah Daniel and Job you and your children are in grave danger. Righteousness is obeying the commandments. All ten, and that means the 4th commandment as well.

The Fourth commandment tells us to keep the weekly Sabbath. It tells us to keep the Holy Days as told to us in Lev 23 and no others. This same fourth commandment tells us to keep the Sabbatical years as well, and we have the opportunity to keep the next Sabbatical year this spring of 2009-2010.

The question is, are you going to obey? You have to answer this to your self. The wager is your children and grand children.

For the past three News Letters I have been pointing out another commandment that is being broken.

The first and second one which say in Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other gods before Me. 4 You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. We showed you how the Shabbat candles and the lighting of the Hanukiah as well as the Yule log are all different forms of the same worship of Nimrod.

I have had many emails in protest and objection from Rabbis and brethren alike and others who have left the email list in protest. Many of them defiantly stating they will not change.

Today we continue to expose the false traditions that so many have set up thinking they are worshiping the true Creator, when in actual fact they are
worshiping the false one. The one who uses good and truth and mixes it with evil and traditions to deceive you. He is the same one who set up the tree of good and evil, Satan.

Re 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

He has deceived the whole world, and so many of you think that you are not deceived. The only way to tell is by reading the scriptures and proving it from there.

This week again in spite of the many emails that are upset at the things we have shown we will continue to expose the false teachings of Satan.

Ezekiel 14:1 Now some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me. 2 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them? 4 Therefore speak to them, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols, 5 that I may seize the house of Israel by their heart, because they are all estranged from Me by their idols. 6 Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Repent, turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations. 7 For anyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who separates himself from Me and sets up his idols in his heart and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, then comes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I the Lord will answer him by Myself. 8 I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of My people. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. 9 And if the prophet is induced to speak anything, I the Lord have induced that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel. 10 And they shall bear their iniquity; the punishment of the prophet shall be the same as the punishment of the one who inquired, 11 that the house of Israel may no longer stray from Me, nor be profaned anymore with all their transgressions, but that they may be My people and I may be their God, says the Lord God.

Yahweh’s curses are coming, whether you want them or not. Those who obey will be saved. Those who hold to their emblems and false gods and will not obey, have brought this evil on themselves.

Today we continue to expose the evil teachings that people believe in. 1 Kings 19: 13 So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, What are you doing here, Elijah? 14 And he said, I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life. 15 Then the Lord said to him: Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. 16 Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place. 17 It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever
escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. 18 Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.

We continue this week to show you who this Baal is and how you may be bowing down to him by the things you do unknowingly.

I was accused of causing division when I began to ask about my catholic faith 26 years ago. I was accused of causing division in the Church of God when I began to question the Hebrew Calendar and the Jubilee years.

This past week I have once again been told I was causing division amongst the Messianic Brethren by speaking up against the keeping of Chanukah and the lighting of the Chanukiah and also of the Shabbat candles. As well this past week our teaching about how Dec 25th is the annual remembrance of when we sacrificed our children to Molech. This is why this time of year is for children. In all the emails I have received this week, not one provided scriptural information to justify their keeping of these practices. Just warm fuzzy traditions that they wanted to hang on to.

Yes, I am causing division, and I will do so again this week. I stand in good company; Lu 12:51 Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.

Joh 7:43 So there was a division among the people because of Him.

Joh 9:16 Therefore some of the Pharisees said, This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath. Others said, How can a man who is a sinner do such signs? And there was a division among them.

Joh 10:19 Therefore there was a division again among the Jews because of these sayings.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2Ti 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Eze 34:17 And as for you, O My flock, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I shall judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats.

Mt 25:32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.

Mt 25:33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

We have been pointing out certain things that some of you keep as a tradition. The Christmas story is well documented in scripture and yet it is so polluted with pagan customs and traditions that most of us know enough to avoid it. Chanukah is not documented in scriptures.

Yet many are fighting mad about me pointing out its pagan traditions. The story of the dedication of the Temple by the Maccabbes is not what I am against. It is the time of the year, when fires are lit in remembrance of Nimrod. The Yule log and candles and chanukiahs. It is these traditions that are associated with Nimrod that are wrong.

If your insisting on keeping Chanukah then you should also keep the dedication of the Temple by Solomon which was done in the seventh Month at the Feast and you should keep the dedication of Ezra when he dedicated the restoration of the Temple.

Ezra 6:15-18 15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king. 16 And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites , and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept The Dedication of this house of God with joy

No we do not celebrate this Dedication. Why?

What about when Moses dedicated the Altar and then went in and talked to Yahweh when HE sat on the mercy seat? No we do not remember this important day. Instead we keep those days which can easily be confused with pagan teachings and traditions and call them something out of the torah to sanctify keeping it.

What is the difference between you and those who are keeping pagan traditions? You point your finger at them but forget that you have three fingers pointing back at you. You say there is a great deal of difference. I say there is none. Each one in their own group whether Christianity or Jewish or Messianic place a false god in front of them and by their own sanctimonious self righteous attitude delude themselves into thinking they are the only true worshipers of which ever god you are following.

Which symbol represents your faith?

The Cross, or is it the Star of David, also known as the Magen David which is some times confused with Solomon’s seal which is both the six pointed star and the five pointed star. Maybe the symbol of the fish represents your faith. Or maybe it is a combination all of them.

To Learn the real meaning of each of these, please read on if you have the courage.

I have the following article from a forum but I do not have the source of information. I know this article is long. I do hope you will take the time over the next week to digest it all. You also need to read until the end.

THE MAGEN DAVID…..THE STAR OF DAVID

The evolution of the six-pointed Jewish star, the “Magen David,” literally the “Shield of David.” also known as the hexagram, or more rarely, Solomon’s Seal, is long and complex. Although it is now the most common and universally recognized sign of Judaism and Jewish identity, both within and outside of the Jewish community, it has only achieved this status in the last two hundred years. Before that it was chiefly associated with magic or with the insignia of individual families or communities. Yet despite its equivocal history, Jews have long been attracted to this design and have sought to ascribe to it venerable origins. In our own day, its universal Jewish popularity, especially as the symbol of the State of Israel, has made the question of its origins moot.

The 6 pointed Magen David is talked about in Amos 5:26. It is symbolic of 666 because it is comprised of a 6 within a 6, within a 6, (6 points, 6 triangles, 6 sides of the hexagon in the middle). Solomon brought it into play when he married the Pharaohs daughter and took after witchcraft and magic as he built an altar to Ashtoroth and Moloch.

Because of its geometric symmetry, the hexagram has been a popular symbol in many cultures from earliest times. Anthropologists claim that the triangle pointing downward represents female sexuality, and the triangle pointing upward, male sexuality; thus, their combination symbolizes unity and harmony. In alchemy, the two triangles symbolize “fire” and “water”; together, they represent the reconciliation of opposites. Some medieval alchemists even borrowed the talmudic pun – ish mayim, fiery water, and shamayim, heaven – to demonstrate the interpenetration of the two realms.

1) Because of this symbolism, the hexagram was even used occasionally as the emblem displayed above a brandy shop.

The earliest known Jewish use of the hexagram was as a seal in ancient Palestine (6th century B.C.E.) and then eight centuries later in a synagogue frieze in Capernaum. But these early hexagrams may have been only ornamental designs; ironically, a swastika, another popular ancient motif, appears alongside the hexagram on the Capernaum synagogue wall. In the Middle Ages, hexagrams appear frequently on churches, but rarely in synagogues or on Jewish ritual objects. It was the *menorah that served as the primary Jewish symbol from antiquity until the post-Renaissance period, not the ” Jewish star.”

{Note; in the article News Letter 5843-052 The Hammer of Thor Which Breaks in Pieces- The Swastika  tells of the Jewish star and the swastika on an ancient temple. See the symbol below.}

Although scholars have attempted to trace the Star of David back to King David himself; to Rabbi Akiva and the Bar Kokhba (“son of the star”) rebellion (135 C.E.); or to kabbalists, especially Rabbi Isaac Luria (16th century), no Jewish literature or artifacts document this claim. Rather, all evidence suggests that the early use of the hexagram was limited to “practical Kabbalah,” that is, Jewish magic, probably dating back to the 6th century C.E.

Legends connect this symbol with the “Seal of Solomon,” the magical signet ring used by King Solomon to control demons and spirits.

2) Although the original ring was inscribed with the Tetragrammaton, the sacred Four-Letter Name of God, medieval amulets imitating this ring substituted the hexagram or pentagram (five-pointed stare), often accompanied by rampant lions, for the sacred Name. The star inscribed on these rings was usually called the “Seal of Solomon.”

In addition to such legends about Solomon’s ring, medieval Jewish magical texts spoke of a magic shield possessed by King David which protected him from his enemies. According to these texts, the shield was inscribed with the seventy-two letter name of God, or with Shaddai (Almighty) or angelic names, and was eventually passed down to Judah Maccabee. The 15th-century kabbalist, Isaac Arama, claimed that Psalm 67, later known as the “Menorah Psalm” because of its seven verses (plus an introductory verse), was engraved on David’s shield in the form of a menorah. Another tradition suggests that Isaiah 11:2, enumerating the six aspects of the divine spirit, was inscribed on the shield in the outer six triangles of the hexagram.

3) In time, the hexagram replaced this menorah in popular legends about David’s shield, while the five-pointed pentagram became identified with the Seal of Solomon.

The hexagram was also widely regarded as a messianic symbol, because of its legendary connection with David, ancestor of the Messiah. On Sabbath eve, German Jews would light a star-shaped brass oil lamp called a Judenstern (Jewish star), emblematic of the idea that Shabbat was a foretaste of the Messianic Age. The hexagram was also popular among the followers of Shabbatai Tzevi, the false messiah of the 17th century, because of its messianic associations.

Among Jewish mystics and wonderworkers, the hexagram was most commonly used as a magical protection against demons, often inscribed on the outside of mezuzot and on amulets.

Another use of the hexagram in medieval times was as a Jewish printer’s mark or heraldic emblem, especially in Prague and among members of the Jewish Foa family, who lived in Italy and Holland. In 1354, Emperor Charles IV of Prague granted the Jews of his city the privilege of displaying their own flag on state occasions. Their flag displayed a large six-pointed star in its center. A similar flag remains to this day in the Altneuschul, the oldest synagogue in Prague.

From Prague, the “Magen David” spread to the Jewish communities of Moravia and Bohemia, and then eventually to Eastern Europe. In 17th-century Vienna, the Jewish quarter was separated from the Christian quarter by a boundary stone inscribed with a hexagram on one side and a cross on the other, the first instance of the six-pointed star being used to represent Judaism as a whole, rather than an individual community.

With Jewish emancipation following the French Revolution, Jews began to look for a symbol to represent themselves comparable to the cross used by their Christian neighbors. They settled upon the six-pointed star, principally because of its heraldic associations. Its geometric design and architectural features greatly appealed to synagogue architects, most of whom were non-Jews. Ironically, the religious Jews of Europe and the Orient, already accustomed to seeing hexagrams on kabbalistic amulets, accepted this secularized emblem of the enlightened Jews as a legitimate Jewish symbol, even though it had no religious content or scriptural basis.

When Theodor Herzl looked for a symbol for the new Zionist movement, he chose the Star of David because it was so well known and also because it had no religious associations. In time, it appeared in the center of the flag of the new Jewish state of Israel and has become associated with national redemption.

During the Holocaust, the Nazis chose the yellow star as an identifying badge required on the garments of all Jews. After the war, Jews tried to turn this symbol of humiliation and death into a badge of honor. It is a grand theory, but you can’t change what is.

Today, the Star of David is the most popular and universally recognized symbol of the Jewish People. In his seminal work entitled the Star of Redemption (1912), Franz Rosenzweig framed his philosophy of Judaism around the image of the Jewish star, composed of two conceptual “triads,” which together form the basis of Jewish belief: Creation, Revelation, and Redemption; God, Israel, and World. On the popular level, Jews continue to use the Jewish star as it was used for centuries: as a magical amulet of good luck and as a secularized symbol of Jewish identity.

Whether people want to believe it or not, the Nation of Israel is cursed because of the Magen David symbol on their flag. What part of “no graven images” don’t they understand? This occult symbol can also be used very well as a WATCHER!

This article above and below was taken from an online forum. http://aroodawakening.ning.com/forum/topics/symbols-1

FISH SYMBOL

The fish symbol is from the dagon god of the Roman Catholics, it is occultism. Lets look at the symbol of the fish that so many think and teach is Christian from the caves in Rome. This, again, is a myth. The fact is, the Christians did not worship nor hide in the catacombs of Rome as was taught a number of years ago. In recent years it has been proven that this myth was created by the church of Rome and archaeologists have seen that this was not correct. When in Rome a guide can show you the catacombs and explain the story and show you how this error is not really possible to have been right. One of the main points is that if they had really been in these catacombs they would have all been slaughtered by the Roman legions. All the tunnels and chambers were mapped out and well known.

Also the fish symbol was not used by Christians then, it was used in the religion of Mithras. It was brought forward from the Persians of the god Dagon with his fish hat. It was the same as what you see on the heads of the Pope and other top men of the Roman Catholic Church even today. When you see the tall hat, look at it from the side and it appears to be a fish head with the long cape the fish body and tail.

DAGON HAT OF THE POPE

The “mitre” shaped hat that is frequently worn by the Pontiff is the same symbol as that of the “fish” god “Dagon” of Babylonian times. The god name “Dagon”, is just too close to “Dragon” for coincidence.

The Temple of the Dagon god is referred to by Jonathan in (1Maccabees 10:84,11:4/1Sam. 5:2-5)

It is not a coincidence that he “tiara crown”, which the Pope often wears is identical to the crown worn by gods and fallen angels shown in Assyrian tablets.

1Chr. 10:10 “And they put his armor in the house of their gods and fastened his head in the house of Dagon.”

Jgs. 16:23 “Now the lords of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice, for they said, Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hands.”

Josh. 15:41 “and Gederoth, Beth-dagon and Naamah and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages”

Josh. 19:27 “And it turned toward the east to Beth-dagon, and reached to Zebulun, and to the valley of Iphtahel northward to Beth-emek and Neiel; then it proceeded on north to Cabul,”

The Pallium garment which the Pope wears over his shoulders is the same as the
one worn by the pagan priests of Greece and Rome before Christianity was ever heard of.

The Papal procession with the Pontiff sitting in a chair being carried by men is another duplication of what the heathens did when they celebrated with their high priests and Kings in Egypt. Even the fans used to comfort the Pope in these processions are the same “flabellum” fans (mystic fan of Bacchus), the heathen Egyptians used.

Again another brother in the same forum has said the same thing I have stated on this web site. I include it because it shows the truth about the cross.
He begins with;
But first we have to look at a few scriptures. Deuteronomy 21: 22 “If a man has committed a sin deserving of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, 23 his body shall not remain overnight on the tree, but you shall surely bury him that day, so that you do not defile the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance; for he who is hanged is accursed of God.

Take note; there is no commandment to hang a person on a tree for any sin. The reason this law was given is found in how Yeshua was killed.

Ac 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.

Ac 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree.

Ac 13:29 Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.

Ga 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree“*),

1Pe 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.

We are responsible before the Master of Heaven for what we believe and what we do, and every idle word we speak. It is your duty to look into every matter and decide and take the path you understand ELohim approves, even if it seems hard, it is not too difficult.

The discussion of the Cross and Yeshua’s death requires we investigate the record. Such an investigation cannot be presented in the sound-bite manner so popular in today’s distracted minds. This cannot be presented with 3-bullets on 4 or 5 briefing slides. However, if you take the time to read what is offered below, and search the matter, you might discover the true cost Yeshua paid which causes the feint of heart to faint with broken heart and renewed appreciation. And, it gives cause to reconsider the appropriateness or the inappropriateness of the Cross.

The Talmud has an account of Yeshua’s very death (in the Talmud the name we believe to be Yeshua is written as Yeshu):

On the eve of Passover Yeshu ha-Notzri (Yeshua the Nazarene) was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, “He is going forth to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy. Any one who can say anything in his favor let him come forward and plead on his behalf.” But since nothing was brought forward in his favor he was hanged on the eve of Passover. — Sanhedrin 43b.

The word “hanged” in this instance does not refer to being hung by the neck, but to being affixed to a tree “not a Crux” [Latin: Cross] but in the Greek σταυρός/stauros, stake, pole, plank, or post. However, from the Hebrew ×¢×¥ /‛eÌ‚tz, Tree. The thing at Mat 27:32 the man of Cyrene, Shim`on by name, was compelled to carry, was the limb, or plank Yeshua was to be affixed to the tree by.

( That is Yeshua was nailed to the piece of wood that went across from one hand to the other. It was this cross piece that was carried to the crucifixion site. And it was this piece of wood upon which Yeshua was nailed to and then hoisted up in to the tree. This cross piece was then affixed to the tree. His feet were nailed on either side of the tree.)

And as is further stated, Yeshua was hanged, for stoning, on the eve of the Passover, a High Shabbat.

This provides information to explain a number of issues:

1) Mat 27:39 People passing by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads

The insults they were hurling were sharp stones which cut his flesh to the bone causing him to bleed profusely, to bruise and crush him beyond recognition.

2) The stoning recorded at Sanhedrin 43b and alluded to at Matthew 27:39 explains John 19:31-33 31 It was Preparation Day, and the Judeans did not want the bodies to remain on the stake on Shabbat, since it was the High Shabbat [Passover]. So they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies removed. 32 The soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been put on a stake beside Yeshua, then the legs of the other one; 33 but when they got to Yeshua and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.

Once it is understood people were throwing sharp stones (such as those found on the Mount of Olives) at Yeshua’s naked body for almost six hours, we can easily understand how he died so quickly. Isaiah 52 and 53 were fulfilled. His flesh was torn away from the front of his body so bystanders could hardly tell he was a man, he was disfigured beyond recognition, “His visage was so marred, more than any man, and his form more than the sons of man.” (Isaiah 52:14).

There is no doubt; stones struck his head causing severe concussion, causing neurologic injury, deafness and an inability to speak. Stones undoubtedly struck his eyes and blinded him. All this fulfilling Psalm 38:

1  Y*H*V*H, don’t rebuke me in Your wrath, neither chasten me in Your hot displeasure. 2 For Your arrows have pierced me, Your hand presses hard on me. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation, neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin. 4 For my iniquities have gone over my head. As a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me. 5 My wounds are loathsome and corrupt, because of my foolishness. 6 I am pained and bowed down greatly. I go mourning all day long. 7 For my waist is filled with burning. There is no soundness in my flesh. :8 I am faint and severely bruised. I have groaned by reason of the anguish of my heart.9 Y*H*V*H, all my desire is before You. My groaning is not hidden from You. 10 My heart throbs. My strength fails me. As for the light of my eyes, it has also left me. 11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my plague. My kinsmen stand far away. 12 They also who seek after my life lay snares. Those who seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and meditate deceits all day long. 13 But I, as a deaf man, don’t hear. I am as a mute man who doesn’t open his mouth. 14 Yes, I am as a man who doesn’t hear, in whose mouth are no reproofs. 15 For in You, Y*H*V*H, do I hope. You will answer, Y*H*V*H my Elohim. 16 For I said, “Don’t let them gloat over me, or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips.” 17 For I am ready to fall. My pain is continually before me. 18 For I will declare my iniquity. I will be sorry for my sin. 19 But my enemies are vigorous and many. Those who hate me without reason are numerous. 20 They who also render evil for good are adversaries to me, because I follow what is good. 21 Don’t forsake me, Y*H*V*H. My Elohim, don’t be far from me. 22 Hurry to help me, Adonai, my salvation.

His body was truly broken for us, though not a bone was broken, he was himself broken; and it is this terrible stoning that we commemorate when we break the matzos during the Passover Seder. The Passover Service will have much greater significance for us now that we understand this crucial truth about the death of Yeshua HaMashiakh. He died to turn Israel and all who would be dwell with Israel and become part of the Covenant, to turn back to the Torah by his death which came primarily as a result of the terrible stoning he endured.

The Cross has no place in the history of this record. The Cross is a pagan icon confusing the facts and used by Greco-Roman paganism in their Sun-g-d worship.

The Cross is a religious symbol of Mithraism signifying the two solstices and two mid cycle solstices. With “Jesus” affixed to the Mithras Cross, it becomes a carved image, an idol, a violation of Y*H*V*H our Elohim’s commandment at Exodus 20:3-5

3 You shall have no other gods before me. 4 “You shall not make for yourselves a carved idol, nor any carved image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, the Y*H*V*H your Elohim, am a zealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,

Making and having carved images is iniquity which Elohim equates to those who do so as hating Y*H*V*H Elohim.

From http://www.thewordsofeternallife.com/cross.html

A tradition of the Church which our fathers have inherited, was the adoption of the words “cross” and “crucify.” These words are nowhere to be found in the Greek of the New Testament. These words are mistranslations, a “later rendering,” of the Greek words stauros and stauroo. Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words says, “STAUROS denotes, primarily, an upright pole or stake…Both the noun and the verb stauroo, to fasten to a stake or pole, are originally to be distinguished from the ecclesiastical form of a two-beamed cross. The shape of the latter had its origin in ancient Chaldea (Babylon), and was used as the symbol of the god Tammuz (being in the shape of the mystic Tau, the initial of his name)…By the middle of the 3rd century A.D. the churches had either departed from, certain doctrines of the Christian faith. In order to increase the prestige of the apostate ecclesiastical system pagans were received into the churches apart from regeneration by faith, and were permitted largely to retain their pagan signs and symbols. Hence the Tau or T, in its most frequent form, with the cross piece lowered, was adopted…” [1]

Dr. Bullinger, The Companion Bible, appx. 162 states, “crosses were used as symbols of the Babylonian Sun-god…It should be stated that Constantine was a Sun-god worshipper…The evidence is thus complete, that the Lord was put to death upon and upright stake, and not on two pieces of timber placed at any angle.” [2]

Rev. Alexander Hislop, The Two Babylon’s, pp. 197-205, frankly calls the cross “this Pagan symbol…the Tau, the sign of the cross, the indisputable sign of Tammuz, the false Messiah…the mystic Tau of the Chaldeans (Babylonians) and Egyptians–the true original form of the letter T–the initial of the name of Tammus…the Babylonian cross was the recognized emblem of Tammuz.” [3]

In the Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th edition, vol. 14, p. 273, we read, “In the Egyptian churches the cross was a pagan symbol of life borrowed by the Christians and interpreted in the pagan manner.” Jacob Grimm, in his Deutsche Mythology, says that the Teutonic (Germanic) tribes had their idol Thor, symbolized by a hammer, while the Roman Christians had their crux (cross). It was thus somewhat easier for the Teutons to accept the Roman cross. [4]

Greek dictionaries, lexicons and other study books also declare the primary meaning of stauros to be an upright pale, pole or stake. The secondary meaning of “cross” is admitted by them to be a “later” rendering. At least two of them do not even mention “cross,” and only render the meaning as “pole or stake.” In spite of this strong evidence and proof that the word stauos should have been translated “stake,” and the verb stauroo to have been translated “impale,” almost all the common versions of the Scriptures persist with the Latin Vulgate’s crux (cross), a “later” rendering of the Greek stauros. [5]

While it is true that stauros means stake or pole, it does not rule out that a cross piece was not attached to it. Look at modern times for example. A post often has something else attached to it like a wire fence, a mail box, or even a sign. The Greek word “stauros” itself does not explain whether anything is, or is not attached to it. Even early Christian writers spoke of the cross as having four limbs pointing above, below, and to both sides. Irenaeus mentioned the cross as “two in length, and two in breadth.” Justin Martyr spoke of the cross as having “one beam placed upright” and “the other beam fitted on to it.” [6]

Historical evidence points to Constantine as the one who had the major share in uniting Sun-worship and the Messianic Belief. Constantine’s famous vision of “the cross superimposed on the sun,” in the year 312, is usually cited. Writers, ignorant of the fact that the cross was not to be found in the New Testament Scriptures, put much emphasis on this vision as the onset of the so-called “conversion” of Constantine. But, unless Constantine had been misguided by the Gnostic Manichean half-Christians, who indeed used the cross in their hybrid religion, this version of the cross superimposed on the sun could only be the same old solar cross, the symbol of the Sun-deity, the centre of cosmic religion, the astrological religion of Babylon. [7]

The fact remains: that which Constantine saw, is nowhere to be found in Scripture. We read in the book of Johannes Geffcken, The Last Days of Greco-Roman Paganism. p. 319, “that even after 314 A.D. the coins of Constantine show an even-armed cross as a symbol for the Sun-god.” [8]

Many scholars have doubted the “conversion” of Constantine because of the wicked deeds that he did afterwards, and because of the fact that he only requested to be baptized on his death-bed many years later, in the year 337. So, if the vision of the cross impressed him, and was used as a rallying symbol, it could not have been in honor of our Savior, because Constantine is attested of by his persistent use of images of the Sun-deity on his coins that were issued by him up to the year 323. Secondly, the fact of his motivation to issue his Sunday-keeping edict in the year 321, which was not done in honour of our Savior, but was done because of the “venerable day of the Sun,” as the edict read, is proof of his continued allegiance to Sol Invictus. We shall expand on this laster on. [9]

Where did the cross come from, then? J.C. Cooper, An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Traditional Symbols, p.45, aptly summarizes it, “Cross–A universal symbol from the most remote times; it is the cosmic symbol par excellence.” Other authorities also call it a sun-symbol, a Babylonian sun-symbol, an astrological Babylonian-Assyrian and heathen sun-symbol, also in the form of an encircled cross referred to as a “solar wheel,” and many other varieties of crosses. Also, “the cross represents the Tree of Life, the age-old fertility symbol, combining the vertical male and horizontal female principles, especially in Egypt, either as an ordinary cross, or better known in the form of the crus ansata, the Egyptian ankh (sometimes called: the Tau cross), which had been carried over into our modern-day symbol of the female, well known in biology. [10]

As stated above, the indisputable sign of Tammuz, the mystic Tau of the Babylonians and Egyptians, was brought into the Church chiefly because of Constantine, and has since been adored with all the homage due only to the Most Hight. The Protestants have for many years refrained from undue adoration of, or homage to, the cross, especially in England at the time of the Puritans in the 16th and 17th centuries. But lately this un-Scriptural symbol has been increasingly accepted in Protestantism. We have previously discussed “the weeping for Tammuz,” and the similarity between the Easter resurrection and the return or rising of Tammuz. Tammuz was the young incarnate Sun, the Sun-divinity incarnate. This same Sun-deity, known amongst the Babylonians as Tammuz, was identified with the Greek Adonis and with the Phoenician Adoni, all of them Sun-deities, being slain in winter, then being “wept for,” and their return being celebrated by a festivity in spring, while some had it in summer–according to the myths of pagan idolatry. [11]

The evidence for its pagan origin is so convincing that The Catholic Encyclopedia admits that “the sign of the cross, represented in its simplest form by a crossing of two lines at right angles, greatly antedates, in both East and the West, the introduction of Christianity. It goes back to a very remote period of human civilization.” It then continues and refers to the Tau cross of the pagan Egyptians, “In later times the Egyptian Christians (Copts), attracted by its form, and perhaps by its symbolism, adopted it as the emblem of the cross.” [12]

Further proof of its pagan origin is the recorded evidence of the Vestal Virgins of pagan Rome having the cross hanging on a necklace, and the Egyptians doing it too, as early as the 15th century B.C.E. The Buddhists, and numerous other sects of India, also used the sign of the cross as a mark on their followers’ heads. “The cross thus widely worshipped, or regarded as a ‘sacred emblem,’ was the unequivocal symbol of Bacchus, the Babylonian Messiah, for he was represented with a head-band covered with crosses.” [13]

After Constantine had the “vision of the cross,” he and his army promoted another variety of the cross, the Chi-Rho or Labarum. This has subsequently been explained as representing the first letters of the name Christos, But again, this had a pagan origin. They were found as inscriptions on rock, dating from the year ca. 2500 B.C.E., being interpreted as “a combination of two Sun-symbols, known as the Ax- or Hammer-symbol of the Sun- or Sky-deity, and the + or X as the ancient symbol of the Sun, both of these signs having a sensual or fertility meaning as well. Another proof of its pagan origin is found on a coin of Ptolemeus III from the year 247-222 B.C.E. [14]

{Note again; in the article News Letter 5843-052 2441 The Hammer of Thor Which Breaks in Pieces- The Swastika which can be read at https://sightedmoon.com/sightedmoon_2015/?page_id=203 tells how the double edged axe or maze is symbolized in the sign of the swastika.}

A well-known encyclopedia describes the Labarum (Chi-Rho) as, “The labarum was also an emblem of the Chaldean (Babylonian) sky-god and in Christianity it was adopted…” Emperor Constantine adopted this Labarum as the imperial ensign and thereby succeeded in “uniting both divisions of his troops, pagans and Christians, in a common worship… [15]

According to Suicer the word (labarum) came into use in the reign of Hadrian, and was probably adopted from one of the nations conquered by the Romans.” It must be remembered that Hadrian reigned in the years 76-138 C.E., that he was a pagan emperor, worshipped the Sun-deity Serapis when he visited Alexandria, and was vehemently anti-Judaistic, beign responsible for the final near-destruction of Jerusalem in the year 130 C.E. [16]

Another dictionary relates the following about the Chi-Rho, “However, the symbol was in the use long before Christianity, and X (Chi) probably stood for Great Fire or Sun, and P (Rho) probably stood for Pater or Patah (Father). The word labarum (la-baar-um) yields everlasting Father Sun.” [17]

Let me give you one last thing to dwell on. In Ezekial 9, it speaks of a mark that was placed upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof (Eze 9:4). The Pulpit Commentary says that According to the best interpretation of the text the mark seems to have been a cross. According to Harper’s Bible Commentary the letter tau in Near Eastern languages could be written as “+” or “T” and so it was not unnatural for early Christian writers, such as Origen and Tertullian, to see in this a type of the cross of Christ. Now remember, it was the Lord who had commanded that the mark (or “T”) be placed on the forehead of the righteous. If this was a symbol of Tammuz which God despised, then why would He have this mark put on the foreheads of those men? If the pagans who worshipped Tammuz whose symbol was a cross, as Hislop tells us, then placing this mark on the righteous would be inconsistent when looking at the context, for only eight verses earlier (Eze 8:14) Tammuz worshipped was condemned! [18]

WE have now identified the symbols of the cross and the fish and the Magen Star of David. The three symbols used by many who claim to follow the one true God. And as we have learned they all come from one source by different roads. Nimrod. Let us continue to look at the symbols themselves and see where they have come from and what they mean.

26:8 • The circle with a point at its center is ancient. This ideogram seems to have been used in every cultural sphere on earth. Wherever it appears, it has the same meaning: the sun or something that is closely associated with the sun, such as hydrogen (in Dalton’s nineteenth-century chemistry). It can mean sunshine in a meteorological system, gold in alchemy, plant with a one year life cycle (one sun cycle) in botany, driving wheel on locomotives as a railway ideogram, and here live bad-tempered people in both the British and the US systems of hobo signs. On nautical charts this image is used for chimneys, towers, and high structures in general, visible from the sea.

The sun sign is one of the oldest gestalts in Western ideography. See “Basic western ideographic structures” in the Appendices. The scholars of the Middle Ages, who with their narrowminded authoritarian belief system confused the roles of the earth and the sun in the galaxy, used this image as a sign for the earth surrounded by the great ocean. For a sign with a similar meaning, see 2404.gif in Group 24.

In Cabbalistic mysticism, the archangel Michael was related to the sun and the day of the sun, Sunday. Thus this image was the sign used to represent that archangel.

When this image is not used in direct association with the sun or gold, in modern ideography it most often indicates a center. This is the case in cartography and blueprints of different types. In the same way the Swedish boy-scouts use it to mean I have gone home (the center for a child is home).

Although this image is found in practically every type of culture and in all periods of history, there are exceptions. In Babylon, for example, the sun was represented by the ideogram 2530.gif , a four-pointed star with wavy radiation lines emanating from its center. In other regions the sun was represented by a disc with outstretched wings on both sides. Count d’Alviella claimed, in his famous book on the migration of symbols throughout the world, that both signs from ancient India, such as 4630.gif , and pre-Columbian American signs such as 2936.gif , the three-leg, 3213.gif , and the swastika, were sun symbols .

In esoteric astrology this image represents the creative spark of divine consciousness that exists in every individual linking him or her to the source and origin of life, and making him or her the co-creator of the world. This spark of consciousness is the self (“I think, thus I am,” as Descartes expressed it). In astrological psychology this image stands for the desire to live and the individual’s life energy. This life energy is “coloured” by the zodiac sign in which this image is positioned at the moment of the individual’s birth, according to astrologers.

In the body this image symbolizes the heart, the blood circulation and the backbone. As a symbol for people in an individual’s life in the birth chart it represents men in general, people in positions of authority, and political and religious leaders. It is also related to the image of the father. This image rules 5002a.gif , the zodiac sign Leo. See Group 50 for data about that zodiac sign.

Other sun symbols are 3032b.gif , 2901.gif , 2904a.gif , 5041.gif , and 1501.gif .

0901.gif09:1 • The cross with arms of equal length is an extremely old ideogram used in most cultures. It is also one of the basic gestalts in Western ideography (as opposed to the basic elements, which are derived entities). The cross is found in every part of the world, in prehistoric caves and engraved on rocks.
In pre-Columbian America the sign seems to have been associated to the four points of the compass and the weather gods. In the earliest Chinese ideography it appears as a sign for perfection and 10, the most perfect number. In astrological symbolism 0901a.gif is the graphic symbol for matter, the earthly life, the plane of physical existence.

Compare this with k1304.gif , which in early Chinese ideography meant ground.

The alchemists used 0901a.gif as one of the signs for the four elements represented by the four arms. Their point of intersection they perceived as coniunctio, quinta essentia, the fifth element, etc. But the cross was much more often used as a sign for acids, vinegar and soot by the alchemists and early chemists.

The alchemists of the Middle Ages also used to append a cross to most of their signs for chemical elements and compounds.

Semiotically the stem of the cross, the vertical beam (see 1001.gif in Group 10) stands for the heavenly or spiritual, whereas the transverse beam (see 1003.gif in Group 10) represents the material plane of existence.

The cross as a closed sign, and with arms of equal length, 2829a.gif , and the Latin cross, 2287.gif , are the ideograms most closely associated with the Western world and thus also appear on many Western countries’ flags.

The cross with arms of equal length was common in the neolithic age. The so called Ice Man, a man who died on the top of an Alp pass at 3000 meters about 3200 B.C., had this sign tattooed on one of his legs. Read about him and his death in Der Mann im Eis, 1993, by prof. Konrad Spindler.

Many of the first cross structures were those of the wheel cross, which was used in e.g. Assyria (2699.gif ) and ancient Egypt (2623.gif ). In Assyria, at least, it clearly is a symbol for the sun. On the other hand it also is a graphic representation of the centralizing revolution of the ancient societies’ social structure that was associated with the invention of the wheel, as the meaning town of the Egyptian hieroglyph just showed suggests. The great semiotician Marshall McLuhan wrote that all media and inventions are extensions of some basic human faculty. The wheel, as an extension of the foot, was a powerful centralizing force. By foot you can walk in faraway places where a cart would have great difficulties in getting through. But near the center of a society the swamps become fields, and the paths become roads. Thus transport successively becomes more easy the closer you get to the center of a human society. It is easy to get to the center, but gradually more difficult to travel and transport the longer from the center you get. That is the rationale behind McLuhan’s words about the centralizing effects of the invention of the wheel.

For more data about the cross and its history as an ideogram, see 0301.gif in Group 3. In Western ideography the cross, and its graphic opposite, the circle, are the most common basic gestalts, and appear in many different Western ideographic systems. Here are some of the meanings of 0901a.gif in different systems: death, end and beginning (on coins and medals with reference to inscriptions), boundary (rows of crosses on maps), shoal (maps and nautical charts), church, chapel (maps, charts), north (astronomy), positive pole or terminal or charge (electricity), clockwise rotation (optics), and positive ions (chemistry).

In dualistic systems of signs 0901a.gif represents the positive pole: positive charge, increase, and the hemisphere north of the equator.

In the sixteenth century 0901a.gif began to be used in mathematics, and we know it as the plus sign meaning addition.

The law of the polarity of meanings of elementary graphs is well illustrated by 0901a.gif , which is both a sign that unites, as in logic, mathematics, and chemistry, and a sign that separates, as in numismatics and cartography; and is positive in many systems, but negative in the French hobo or gypsy system: here they give nothing.
For 0901a.gif as a Christian symbol, see 0301.gif in Group 3, and “The sign of the cross in Western ideography” in the Appendices.

http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/03/031.html

0301a.gif03:1 • The Latin cross, crux immissa, crux capitata. The latin word crux is derived from “cruciare”, meaning to torture. This cross since at least one thousand years has been the Western world’s symbol par excellence. It is chiefly associated with the torture and killing of Jesus Christ, and thus with the Christian religion and Christianity.

Before the time of Jesus, 0301.gif represented, among other things, the staff of Apollo, the sun god, son of Zeus, and appeared for instance on ancient coins.

Crosses with arms of equal length were used frequently since time immemorial in pre-Columbian America, the Euphrates-Tigris region, and other parts of the world. That cross seems to have been associated with the sun and the powers that controlled the weather. In Babylon, the equal arms cross was considered one of the attributes of Anu, god of the heavens. In the mighty Assyrian empire, which seems to have originated as a Babylonian colony in the second millennium B.C., the sun cross in the wheel cross form of 2699.gif and 24101.gif was one of the attributes of the national god, Assur. When 0901a.gif was used as the staff of Apollo it lost its ring, and one of its arms was lengthened to form 0301.gif . That seems to represent the first use of the Latin cross form in the Hellenic sphere. However, variations of crosses of the Latin type are fairly common elsewhere in Europe during, or even before the Bronze Age period, as witnessed by for instance such rock carved signs as 41a61.gif .

Sometime during the first centuries of the Western calendar the Latin cross was adopted by the Christian ideology. Still being associated with heavenly, almighty lords, both 0901a.gif and even more so 0301.gif , the sun god’s staff, gradually became symbols for death, sin, guilt death, sin, guilt, and burial. But, and in accordance with the law of the polarity of meanings of elementary graphs the cross also came to mean resurrection, rebirth, salvation, and eternal life after bodily death.

On gravestones and in genealogy the sign 0301.gif means dead, deceased and date of death. Compare with six-pointed and five-pointed star signs for born, or date of birth, on tomb stones and in genealogy.

http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/29/291.html

2901a.gif29:1 • The wheel cross, sun cross, Odin’s cross or Woden’s cross. Nordic Odin and Teutonic Wuotan or Woden was the supreme god of the Nordic religion before Christianity. Odin was the god of art, culture, warfare, and the dead; depicted as an old, one-eyed man with two ravens as his intelligence agents and messengers.

The structure 2901.gif is one of the first non-pictorial graphs to appear when humankind was on the threshold of the Bronze Age. It is common on rock carvings. It appears in ancient Egypt, China, pre-Columbian America, and the Near East. From the facts available it seems as if 2901.gif is associated with the wheel, not so much with its invention as with its revolutionary effect on the existing society. In ancient China this sign was associated with thunder, power, energy, head, and respect.

In ancient Babylon the similar structure 2530.gif symbolized the sun god, Shamash.

When the first ideographic writing systems were developed, 2901.gif was included among the signs. It appears in the earliest systems of writing used by the Egyptians, Hittites, Cretians, Greeks, Etruscans, and Romans.

In ancient Greece 2901.gif signified a sphere or globe. It was also used as a natal chart pattern in ancient astrology. In modern astrology it is the sign for the planet Earth, the astrological element earth, and Fortuna, the Part of Fortune, an important position in the natal chart related to progress and hindrances in the material aspect of an individual’s life. (Compare with 3907.gif in Group 39.)

In astronomy it is also used as a symbol for the planet Earth, and is therefore synonymous with 41a01a.gif .

It is easy to trace a shift in this sign’s meaning over time. In earliest times 2901.gif was a symbol for the highest power, the sun, and its counterpart, the king. It represented power and control. This meaning changed so that 2901.gif more and more adopted the meaning of 0901a.gif and 2805.gif , i.e. the points of the compass, the earth, and the land.

As has been its custom the Christian Church has included this ancient pagan sign among the crosses of its symbolism. It is known as the gamma cross, the Roman Catholic cross, the consecration cross and the inauguration cross. At the inauguration of a church, the bishop, using blessed water or oil, draws the wheel cross at 12 different places on the church walls. Its use as a halo or gloria, i.e. the spiritual power or energy that holy persons emanate, is associated with its original meaning as a sign of power. During the Middle Ages the alchemists used 2901.gif to signify copper alloys (from the Venus sign, 41a07.gif , which also meant copper) and sometimes yleaster or stardust, possibly also meteorite iron.

2901.gif appears in about 15 modern ideographic systems. In some US meteorological systems it has been used to indicate that visibility is worsened by fog or dust. In some British meteorological systems it can mean a solar halo, i.e. a ring around the sun. In modern ideography 2901.gif is often related to visibility and signalling. Thus on modern German maps it can stand for radar station.

In the US, British, Swedish and French hobo sign systems we find that 2901.gif (as well as 2902.gif and 2903a.gif ) means here you will find food, work, and money, or here live generous people.

Sometimes 2903a.gif is given the same meaning as 2901.gif , and in such instances should be viewed as a stylized version of 2901.gif.

This sign was in use already 5,000 years ago by the Sumerians. It is said to have meant sheep. For the Aztecs 2903a.gif was known as the shield of the God of Dawn.

2859.gif28:21 • The fourpointed star, or sun star, denotes, according to Koch (see bibliography), a serious and solemn warning. Compare with 5461.gif , the logotype for NATO. In this logotype 2859a.gif was combined with 1501.gif , the symbol used by the recently defeated German Wehrmacht. (NATO was formed in 1949.) But the Americans used the mirror image of the Hakenkreuz and straightened it out a bit to 1540.gif .

In the Euphrates-Tigris region 2859a.gif in the form 2530.gif represented the highest god, the sun god Shamash. Assyrians all over the world recognize a fourpointed star sign as their ethnic symbol. As such it is often drawn with a circle in its middle and with wavy lines emanating diagonally from between the star’s points. See 3099.gif in Group 30.

In Christian symbolism 2859a.gif is the crux stellata, the star cross.

Note also that 2859a.gif in the form 3058.gif was the logotype of the biggest bank of its time in the United States, Citicorp.

2713.gif27:21 • The pentagram or pentacle belongs to the group of some 20 basic gestalts in Western ideography. Despite the fact that 2713a.gif consists of five straight lines it is still a single entity, a holistic design. It is quite unlikely that this design was discovered by chance. (For a discussion of this, see “The mystical pentagram” in the Appendices.) Here are other gestalts with which to compare it: 2601a.gif ,2801.gif , 2805.gif , 0901a.gif , 0419.gif , 1408.gif , 0215a.gif , 3704.gif , 3209.gif .

The pentagram was probably discovered as a result of astronomical research in the Euphrates-Tigris region about 6,000 years ago. For a derivation of this structure, see 2911.gif in Group 29.

Isolated pentagrams have been found on broken fragments of burned clay in Palestine, in layers dating from around 4000 B.C. It was a common sign among the Sumerians around 2700 B.C. Some of those who have conducted research of symbols believe 2713a.gif was used by the Sumerians as a cosmic symbol representing the four corners of the earth and the vault of the heavens. This, however, seems a bit far-fetched. The sign 0901a.gif would have been better suited for this particular purpose. After the Sumerian time there is no clear evidence as to what the pentagram might have meant until the sign appears in Pythagorean mysticism. There it is said to have symbolized the human being. The points of 2713a.gif represent the head, arms, and legs of the body. Yet this interpretation seems to underestimate the intelligence and knowledge of the Pythagoreans. They did, however, use the sign extensively and are believed to have used it when signing their letters to each other around 400 B.C.

What we do know with all certainty is that 2713a.gif was the main ideogram in the logotype or official seal of the city of Jerusalem during the period 300-150 B.C.
The pentagram has been called the seal of Solomon or Solomon’s shield in medieval Jewish mysticism.

The fivepointed star has appeared in pre-Columbian America, although not in the form of the pentagram, but as 2643.gif . This makes it unlikely that the high cultures existing at that time, for example, the Mayan culture, had succeeded in discovering the design 2713a.gif despite their advanced knowledge of the timing of the appearances of the Morning star and the Evening star, that is, the orbit of the planet Venus.

After the Sumerian epoch in the Euphrates-Tigris region the Venus goddess seems to have been symbolized by 2532.gif , the eightpointed star. The pentagram fell out of use and did not appear in this region until some 1,000 years later.

Count Goblet d’Alviella suggested in his book La migration des Symboles (see bibliography) at the end of the nineteenth century that certain graphic symbols for powerful mythological entities exclude each other. Thus 2532.gif , for Venus as the goddess of fertility and war, excludes the sign 2713a.gif . The two do not appear simultaneously in the same political, economic, and cultural spheres. The same applies (an example from d’Alviella) for the sun god symbolized by 1501.gif and by the winged globe, 2026.gif . We could refer to this as the law of the graphic exclusiveness of symbols of dominating power.

The pentagram is sometimes known as the Eastern star and is apparently then identical with the Morning star and the planet Venus as the war goddess Ishtar or Astarte. Note that 2825a.gif is very popular with the military. All officers in modern armies have a number of fivepointed stars on their uniforms. These stars are also found painted on the sides of tanks and fighter planes in the United States, Russia, China, and some other countries.
See 2825a.gif in Group 28.

In Western ideography 2713a.gif appears on some of the crusader knights’ coats of arms. During the Middle Ages, however, 2713a.gif began to be associated with magic and the Devil. In Nordic countries it was drawn on doors and walls as protection against trolls and evil. When the sign was turned so that two of its ends were pointing upward, like 2714d.gif, it represented the Devil. Today, some hard rock groups still use the sign in this way and meaning.

Today 2713a.gif is mainly used as a sign signifying favorable opportunities (for example, in advertisements for sales), parties, and joyful togetherness. In comic strips, however, it has retained its old association to warfare in that it is used to indicate the mental state resulting from a blow to the head (to “see stars”) or the pain resulting from a blow or injury.

In the Japanese Art of Warfare, 2713a.gif stands for forts and fortresses, as does 2730.gif .

As a mark of cadency 2713a.gif stands for the third son (see 2217a.gif in Group 22).

Except for in comic strips the sign 2713a.gif is not used in modern Western ideographic systems. The filled variation, 2825d.gif , or the empty variation, 2825a.gif , however, is occasionally found in fire prevention contexts, as a sign indicating a source of light on nautical charts, and for unpostmarked stamps in philately.

For 2713a.gif as a plaited sign, turn to Group 34.

2911a2.gif 6602.gif 6603.gif29:14 • This ideogram nowadays represents the Wiccan religion. For Wiccan believers the five points of the star sign in the circle represent spririt, earth, air, fire and water, or love, wisdom, knowledge, law and power. A version of this sign with the fivepointed star filled and with a small circle in its center, 3013a.gif , has been used on tanks and fighter planes in the USA as a war sign.

This sign can be called a construction-iconic symbol for the planet Venus. This planet is the only one in our system that can clearly be identified with a simple graphic structure unambiguously derived from a plotting of its astronomical movements in space. As the orbit of 41a071.gif , Venus, is closer to the sun than is the earth’s, it is never seen more than 48 degrees from 2609.gif . This means that 41a071.gif is visible as the Morning star or Evening star in the immediate vicinity of 2609.gif . Thus Venus can only be seen from earth just before sunrise in the morning or just after sunset in the evening. During a period of 247 days 41a071.gif is visible as the Evening star. Then Venus comes too close to the sun to be visible from earth. Venus remains invisible for 14 days, to reappear as the Morning star, Phosphoros, Lucifer, the Bringer of Light, the Eastern star, 3013a.gif , immediately before the sun rises in the east. For 245 days we can see 41a071.gif each morning at dawn before it again disappears into the sun’s light by getting too close to the sun. The planet is now invisible for 78 days. On the 79th evening it appears once again in the west immediately after the setting of 2609.gif . Venus is now the Evening star, Hesperos, Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, fertility, sex, and peace.

If one knows the ecliptic (see 3805a.gif in Group 38) and can pinpoint the present position of the planets in relation to the constellations of fixed stars in the zodiac (see 3502.gif in Group 35), it is possible to mark the exact place in the 360 degrees of the zodiac where the Morning star first appears shortly before sunrise after a period of invisibility. If we do this, wait for the Morning star to appear again 584 days later (the synodic orbital time of 41a071.gif ) mark its position in the zodiac, and then repeat this process until we note 41a071.gif back on point one again (six notations on five different positions in the zodiac) as the Morning star, we will find that exactly eight years have passed. If we then draw a line from the first point marked to the second point marked, then to the third, and so on, we end up with a regular pentacle or pentagram.

The following lines are taken from Zehren (see “An annotated bibliography” in the Appendices):
“It was only the planet Venus that possessed the fivepointed star sign. Not one of the innumerable stars above us can by its orbit form this sign …

“Moreover, the points of the pentagram pointed to five different groups of stars or constellations which were easy to remember; each had a given name … It was only later discovered that the five points moved slowly throughout the vault of heaven as if they were hands of a giant clock … Over a period of four years each point of the pentagram was displaced one day, a 365th part of the zodiac circle … After 1,460 solar years the `hands’ stood at their original places. This unit of 1,460 years is the Egyptian Sothis’ year and belongs not only to the god Seth-Sirius, but much more to the goddess Sothis. And this goddess was no other than … Venus herself.

“The space of time between the first appearance of the planet Venus and its reappearance at the same place is exactly 1,460 days, i.e. four solar years, which was the calendar used in antiquity by the Greeks to measure the Olympiades (and also is the time interval between the modern Olympic Games).

“But after 1,460 days Venus becomes the Morning star if it was the Evening star at the beginning of the four years, and vice versa.”

The pentagon, 2822.gif (see Group 28), can also be produced by the above procedure, with the difference that one takes into account Venus’ first appearance irrespective of whether it is the Morning or the Evening star.

Among those peoples who do not know that the two appearances represent one planet, we thus get two gods or divine powers, both related to the number 8 in two ways. First 41a071.gif is visible in one of its two appearances during a period of 245 or 247 days, which is equivalent to eight cycles of the moon. It was possible to see the brightest star in the heavens together with the new moon (or waning moon) eight times before it eventually was “swallowed by the sun”, i.e. made invisible by the sun’s light. Later, when those peoples had learned to draw a map of the ecliptic (called the zodiac), it became possible to draw 2713a.gif , and then each of the two divinities got another close association to the number 8: it took eight years for 41a071.gif as one of the two gods to complete a full cycle of the zodiac and return to its initial starting point.

It was only when humans realized that the Morning star and the Evening star were the same planet that the pentagon, 2822.gif , and the four-year period could be linked to 41a071.gif .

The Akkadians were the first to realize this. Inanna, the Sumerian queen of the heavens and the daughter of the moon for the Semitic Akkadians became the contradictory Ishtar. Still the queen of the heavens, Ishtar (Astarte) was the holy virgin but also “she who accomodates men”, the goddess of battle and war, but also the goddess of beauty, peace and sex.

Three were the highest divinities in the EuphratesTigris region. Their symbols can be seen in almost every ancient mythological representation. They are 2530.gif , the sun god; 2007a.gif , the moon god; and 2676.gif , Inanna, Ishtar, Astarte.

Yet despite the fact that the true nature of 41a071.gif had been discovered and established in the Euphrates-Tigris region, the barbaric priests and medicine men of the Greek tribes continued to believe that the Morning and Evening stars were two separate entities. When the people in Greece developped more of a civilization the differences between the corresponding two divinities became more accentuated than in other cultures. With the overall development of their civilization these differences crystallized into Athena, the Morning goddess of hunt and battle, and Aphrodite, the Evening goddess of love and beauty. It was not until about 400 B.C. (some 1,500 years after the Sumerians) that the Greeks discovered the unity of 2713a.gif and 2636.gif . Diogenes Laertius writes: “… and it is believed that he [Parmenides, 400 B.C.] realized, as the first, that the Evening and Morning stars were one and the same star, which Favorinus relates to us in his fifth book of `Worthwhile thoughts’. Others claim that it was Pythagoras.”

Throughout history we find that one of Venus’ two aspects has always been overemphasized, and this has occurred in nearly all cultural spheres. The planet 41a071.gif as goddess of hunt, battle, and the new day is symbolized by the sign for the waning moon, “the dying snake”, 2002a.gif , plus the construction-iconic ideogram for Venus, 2713a.gif , that is 2437.gif . (From the Middle Ages and up to modern times Venus as the Morning star and goddess of battle was represented in the Near East by the eightpointed star or eight-petalled flower, as in 41b61.gif .)

No comparable graphic symbol for 41a071.gif as the Evening star goddess, embodying the divine qualities of beauty, peace, lovemaking, and sexual pleasures, seems ever to have existed. If we return to the Euphrates-Tigris region we find that Ishtar, the goddess of war, fertility, and sexuality, somewhere between 2000 and 1000 B.C. began to be symbolized by the sign 2676.gif , in which one fourpointed star structure is overlapping another. The Morning and Evening stars were thereby graphically united, which most probably meant that in the existing body of astronomical knowledge both stars were then known to be appearances of the same heavenly body. As far as the Greeks are concerned, even after they had realized that there was only one planet they continued to overemphasize one of its appearances. It was Athena, the goddess of war and special divinity of the warmongering and slave-holding Athens, who predominated at the cost of Aphrodite. In the later Odyssey, Aphrodite is hardly mentioned.

It has continued in this vein. The planet 41a071.gif as the Morning star, 2437.gif , has given us the symbol of war par preference: 2825a.gif . The other ancient Venus symbol, the rosette with eight petals, 2636.gif , is rarely seen. And the combination 2035.gif , which would have represented the planet as Aphrodite, the Evening star, together with the young bull, the new moon, is neither seen in Western nor in Eastern ideography.

Last, we should mention that 2532.gif , 2676.gif , and 2636.gif all represented a divinity of fertility and not only a goddess of war and of sexual pleasures. The most illustrative symbol for this particular aspect of the Venus goddess must be a young woman with her child. When a new, domineering and expansive ideology like the Christian faith discovers that it cannot wipe out an ancient and well-established mythological structure, almost as impossible to get rid of as is the brightest star in the sky of planet Earth, it can adopt this structure (“if you can’t beat them, join them”) and attempt to change it by giving the symbol new meanings. This is only partially possible, though. The new ideological establishment can try to emphasize and encourage those elements that agree with the new ideology, and at the same time suppress those that do not. The ardent advocates of the Christian ideology thus approved of fertility, but disapproved of its relation to sexual pleasures and tried to suppress this aspect of fertility. As a result we still have, after 2,000 years of ideological domination by the Christian faith, a holy female god, an Inanna, a goddess of fertility, albeit a very strange one, a fertility goddess who has managed to bear the best earthly fruit of all, a human child, without having engaged in un-Christian lustful and lecherous sexual activities with a man of flesh and blood.

The Morning and Evening star goddess continues to be a central role player in the mythology and lives of the peoples around the Mediterranean, but as the chaste Virgin Mary, a goddess in an ideology that emphasizes suffering, warfare, death, and martyrdom much more than intimate sexual relations, sensuality, and love between men and women. These 2,000 years have been characterized by the conflict between high but often stupid ideals and a hateful practice; by the conflict between the two fish bound together and forever trying to swim in different directions, 1107.gif ; by the sign of Pisces; by Jesus. From this comes the whore and madonna-complex and the worship of the virgin vulva, 4408.gif (see Group 44) which, instead of being a symbol for fertility and lecherous intimacy and pleasure, has been turned into a symbol for a man living without sexual relations, Jesus; for torture, for the degradation of one human by another, for the crucifixion of the son of the Venus goddess.

What, then, will happen in the new Aquarian Age? Will the two fish forever trying the impossible fade away? Will the 2825d.gif aspect of 41a071.giffinally be pushed into the background? Will 4408.gif regain its original meaning, and the aspect 2636.gif of 41a071.gif dominate from now on? The author of this work is happy to state that in spite of the recurring outbursts of collective insanity in the backyards of the global village this, in fact, is how it looks today.

3501.gifThis ideogram is used by several theosophic societies. See 2908.gif in Group 29 for more facts. The ideogram is a combination of the ancient Egyptian sign 4210a.gif , a gods’ staff sign that is a symbol for life and rebirth. This sign, the ankh, is placed at the center of the star of the two opposite elements, fire and water, 2714.gif , which is in turn placed in the circle of eternity. The whole structure is then crowned with the fylfot or gammadion, which is here used to signify the continual rebirth of metempsychosis.

2920.gif29:17 • This is a sign meaning boil according to an old German treatise. Semiotically the ideogram can be analyzed as 28011.gif for fire (the heat necessary for boiling), 2803.gif for the water to be boiled, and a dot or point in the center from the sign for the sun, 2609.gif , to stress the heating aspect and to distinguish the ideogram from the common representation of alcohol (fire-water, as the Native Americans used to say) in alchemy by the hexagram.

http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/15/151.html

1501a.gif15:1 • The swastika is a very old ideogram. The first such signs preserved to our days were found in the Euphrates-Tigris valley, and in some areas of the Indus valley. They seem to be more than 3,000 years old. Yet it was not until around the year 1000 B.C. that the swastika became a commonly used sign, first maybe in ancient Troy in the north west of today’s Turkey.

The Sumerians seem to have used the swastika, but neither their successors the Babylonians and Assyrians, nor the Egyptians seem to have used it. Most other ancient cultures in Eurasia, however, did use it. Count Goblet d’Alviella (see the bibliography), who at the end of the last century conducted research in the distribution and migration of sacred symbols, put forth the theory that certain symbols were mutually exclusive, i.e. they could not appear in the same country or cultural sphere. This seems to have been the case with for instance the signs 0906.gif and 2713a.gif as symbols for Jerusalem in Europe during the Middle Ages. According to this theory the swastika and the round disc with horizontally spread-out wings, 20261.gif , the circle with the four-pointed star, 2530.gif , and the four-armed cross in a circle, 2699.gif , are all symbols for the sun, the highest god, and the supreme power and lifeforce.

On the other hand both 0901a.gif and 15011.gif were common in Greece in the antiquity. If d’Alviella’s theory is correct, this means that none of these signs was the symbol of a dominating power or god. There probably was no all-dominating god worshipped there.

The swastika was used well before the birth of Christ in Iran, China, India, Japan, and Southern Europe. Whether it was also used that early in the Americas, however, is not known. There are no swastika-like signs on the oldest rock carvings there. Neither did the Mayans, the Incas, and the Aztecs use it. However, many of the Indian tribes in the southern parts of North America seem to have begun using the sign after the arrival of the first Spanish colonists.

The swastika is mostly associated with Buddha in India, China, and Japan. In early Chinese symbolism 341208.gif was known as wan, and was a general superlative. In Japan it may have been a sign for the magnificent number 10,000.

In India according to d’Alviella, the word swastika is composed by the Sanskrit su = good, and asti = to be, with the suffix ka. The arms of the Indian swastika were angled in a clockwise direction (from the center).

The sign was common among the Hittites (in what is now Turkey), and in Greece from around 700 B.C., where it was freely used in decorations on ceramic pots, vases, coins, and buildings in the antiquity.

In the rest of Europe swastikas and swastika-like structures were used by the Celts. They did, however, not appear in the Nordic countries until well after the birth of Christ, and then they do not seem to have been common. They can be seen on. few runic stones (from around 1000 A.D.), often combined with another cross structure, as in 3510.gif .

After the birth of Christ, maybe related to the disappearance of the Celtic culture from the European continent, 15011.gif seems to have lost its popularity in most of Europe, with the exception of the Nordic countries. Maybe it became known as a sign representing Buddha and therefore was considered anti-Christian. This disappearance might also have been due to its widespread use in ancient Greece, a pagan society.

Although not commonly used in Europe during the Middle Ages, it was wellknown and had many different names: Hakenkreuz in Germanic princedoms, fylfot in England, crux gammata in Latin countries, and tetraskelion or gammadion in Greece.

This sign is also Brigit’s cross for the Celtic goddess Brigit (Brig, Briga), nowadays also worshipped by the Wiccans.

The swastika’s spectrum of meaning is centered around power, energy, and migration. It is closely associated with 1302.gif and 1413.gif , thus with tribal migrations.

The sign was used in the nineteenth and twentieth century cartography to indicate electric power plants. It was part of the logotype used by the Swedish manufacturer of electrical machinery, ASEA, now the multinational ABB, until Hitler monopolized 15011.gif as a national symbol. The Danish brewery group Carlsberg used the swastika too, but also stopped using it to avoid association with the Nazis. In the section “The ideographic Struggle in Europe during the 1930s” in the Appendices you can read more about the way the swastika was introduced and used in Germany. See also 3412.gif in Group 34.

The swastika is still a common sign in Finland. The victory of the “Whites” during the civil war of 1918 was the victory of the farm-owners, the middle class, and the squires over the communist workers and crofters, the “Reds”. 15011.gif can be seen on the Finnish Cross of Freedom, an order decoration created by the winning side in 1918; as a sign for Finnish women’s voluntary defense; and on army unit standards. It was also the sign for the Finnish air force from 1918 up to the 1950s.

There is some confusion as to whether the clockwise (from the centre) angled swastika, 15011.gif , or the countercockwise angled variation, 1502.gif , is the sign with the most positive meaning. Both types have appeared in many different contexts, except when the sign is used as an official or national symbol, in which case 15011.gif is always preferred. The instances of use of 15011.gif are by far more numerous than those of 1502.gif .

http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/27/2722.html

2714a.gif27:22 • The hexagram is based on the gestalt 2801.gif . The earliest examples of 2714.gif found are dated back to around 800-600 B.C. If the structure had been designed by a process of random experimentation with the basic graphic gestalt 28011.gif , the hexagram as graphically simpler than 2713a.gif would have been created long before it. Present archeological and historical facts, however, indicate that 2714.gif first appeared at least 3,000 years later than 2713a.gif .

During antiquity 2714.gif was a symbol for the Jewish kingdom. When this kingdom was conquered in A.D. 70, and, in fact, already some 100 years before that, the Jewish people began to spread throughout the world, as did the symbol 2714.gif .

The hexagram is sometimes known as the shield of David or the Magen David. According to the late Danish semiotician S.T. Achen, the Muslims refer to 2714.gif as Solomon’s seal, whereas E. Zehren points out that the sign on Solomon’s seal was 2713a.gif . The hexagram is frequently used in the magic formulas in the old book of witchcraft, The Key of Solomon.

The alchemists of the Middle Ages used 2714.gif first and foremost as a general symbol representing the art of alchemy and secondly as a sign for combinations of 2803.gif, water and 28011.gif, fire. Combined these two triangles formed the symbol for fire water, the essence or spiritus of wine: alcohol. It was also used as a sign for quintessence, the fifth element. See the synonym 5009.gif in Group 50.

In some alchemical contexts, however, 2714.gif was used to mean drink! or swallow!

The Jews in Europe used 2714.gif during the Middle Ages on their banners and prayer shawls. When they were repressed by the Church and the princes, however, a pointed hat, and later a yellow ring, were used to identify them as Jews, thus facilitating their segregation, not 2714.gif .

The hexagram became more popular during the nineteenth century and was used to decorate newly built synagogues. The founders of the Zionist movement adopted the hexagram as a rallying symbol in their attempts to create a Jewish national state in Palestine.

On November 9, 1938, at the orders of Heydrich, the hexagram combined with the colour yellow, earlier used to symbolize the Jews, and on ships’ flags to symbolize that there was plague aboard, was introduced to mark all those of Jewish birth.

In blue 2714.gif appears on the flag of Israel since 1948.

It is interesting to note that 2714.gif also appeared in pre-Columbian America. In Uxmal, Central America, a plaited hexagram is found on a cliff engraving from around 1000 A.D. It has a “trailing” or “hanging” element, 271424.gif , under it, similar to structures used in the Phoenician cultural sphere around the Mediterranean during antiquity.

The hexagram, plaited and red, is used as a symbol for the Magen David Adom, a humanitarian organization similar to the Red Cross.

Like 2713a.gif the sign 2714.gif is hardly used in modern ideography except as a sign for electrical motors with 3-phase or 6-phase winding in engineering. The “empty” hexagram, without crossing lines, or the filled version, 2863.gif , is never used in Western ideography except as a form for a policeman’s badge in Iceland and in certain states in the US (the sheriff’s star). As form of a policeman’s badge 2825a.gif is also common in the United States.

The symbol of the fish we can show to be Dagon, again another symbol for Nimrod.

Is it then any wonder when Yahweh says the things he does in Amos.

Amos 5:21 “I hate, I despise your feast days, And I do not savor your sacred assemblies. 22 Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, Nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings. 23 Take away from Me the noise of your songs, For I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments. 24 But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream. 25 “Did you offer Me sacrifices and offerings In the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? 26 You also carried Sikkuth your king And Chiun, your idols, The star of your gods, Which you made for yourselves. 27 Therefore I will send you into captivity beyond Damascus,” Says the Lord, whose name is the God of hosts.

Acts 7: 37 “This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear.’ 38 This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, the one who received the living oracles to give to us, 39 whom our fathers would not obey, but rejected. And in their hearts they turned back to Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods to go before us; as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ 41 And they made a calf in those days, offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
42 Then God turned and gave them up to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the Prophets: ‘Did you offer Me slaughtered animals and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel? 43 You also took up the tabernacle of Moloch, And the star of your god Remphan, Images which you made to worship; And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’ 44 “Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, 45 which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, 46 who found favor before God and asked to find a dwelling for the God of Jacob. 47 But Solomon built Him a house. 48 However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says: 49 ‘Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. What house will you build for Me? says the Lord, Or what is the place of My rest? 50 Has My hand not made all these things?’
51 “You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, 53 who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.”
54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, 56 and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” 57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Remphan

(Acts 7:43; RSV, “Rephan”). In Amos 5:26 the Heb. Chiun (q.v.) is rendered by the LXX. “Rephan,” and this name is adopted by Luke in his narrative of the Acts. These names represent the star-god Saturn or Moloch.

Remphan

(Acts 7:43) and Chi’un, (Amos 5:26) have been supposed to be names of an idol worshipped secretly by the Israelites in the wilderness, difficulty has been occasioned by this corresponding occurrence of two names so wholly different in sound. The most reasonable opinion seems to be that Chiun was a Hebrew or Semitic name, and Remphan an Egyptian equivalent substituted by the LXX. This idol corresponded probably to Saturn or Molech. The mention of Chiun or Remphan as worshipped in the desert shows that this idolatry was, in part at least that of foreigners, and no doubt of those settled in lower Egypt.

The reason Yahweh hates their feast is because they have the star god Remphan who is also known as Ishtar and Saturn and or Molech as the one they hold up in front of them.

Israel throughout the bible is said to have her idols and was vomited out of the land because of them. Judah too had her idols. Now in our day in 2008-2009 we can clearly see how Israel who is Ephraim and Manasseh ( the United Kingdom and the USA respectively) still worships Molech and Ishtar by the keeping Christmas and Easter, and Judah still worships Molech or Saturn or Ishtar by the keeping of the star of Remphan or the star or Magen star of David.

Is it any wonder Yahweh does not hear their prayers. Repent from your idolatry and return to the Yahweh that Paul spoke of in Acts 17:22 Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; 23 for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: 24 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.

The unknown El, who has no emblem of sign. Yahweh has no emblem or badge to wear on our necks or to hold up in front of us. None! But He does have one sign that we are to follow. That is we are to keep His Sabbaths and Holy Days and Sabbatical years. This is the only sign we have. It is up to us to show Him we are obeying by keeping this one sign. Keeping His Holy Times Holy.

He had no emblem from Abraham Isaac or Jacob nor Moses, why do you insist on having one for him now? Satan has deceived you once again by causing you to put an object of worship between you and Yahweh. An object that represents Molech or Ishatar. When will you stop your idol worshipping and return to Yahweh?
