Proven Sabbatical Years and When You Come Into the Land

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

News Letter 5844-046
19th day of the Tenth month 5844 years after creation

January 17, 2009

On Jan 10 2009 Nazarene Israel (http://www.nazareneisrael.org/index.shtml) run by Norman Willis ran an article on the Jubilee Cycles. I found the article very good and concise but I disagreed with Norman on a few points. We ended up talking on January 11 for a couple of hours by phone. We had already talked by phone on Jan 6.

Now let me say right here at the beginning I am not in any way attacking my Brother Norman Willis. I found him very sincere and wanting to know the truth. I feel I have found a new friend. This is just a midrash on this subject and I welcome it. This is what I have wanted all Messianic groups and brethren to do. That is to talk about this very important subject. To learn how much it shows us about the rest of Torah. I do not expect everyone to agree with me. But to bring this subject into the discussion of the all the groups is of utmost importance.

I know for a fact that other groups are looking at the DVD and going through each of the scriptures I quote and considering the implications. Brethren I once again urge you to write or call your Pastor or elder or Minister or Rabbi, or group leader and again urge them to watch the entire DVD of the Chronological order of Prophecies as contained in the Jubilee. To get them to understand that by not obeying this command to keep the Sabbatical year which I am saying is to start this next Aviv, March 2009, will result in many people losing their children to death by famine and disease. This is the penalty of Lev 26 for not keeping the Sabbatical year.

Many after reading Normans News Letter last week emailed me and asked me for some answers. Norman and I have different opinions on this and I have failed to convince him of my point of view. I regret my communication skills are not able to make this subject as plain to everyone as it seems to be to me.

You must not forget after all that Yeshua has called you to be kings and priest in His Kingdom. As such you must be able to prove the law and know how to show it to others. And this difference is now going to become a test. Well you pass this test?

Ex 16:4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not.
You must know and understand. You cannot rely on those who teach you. You have to open your own bible and read and study and pray and ask Yahweh to show you the truth and then and only then will you know. It requires work on your part.

This is a way of life that requires you to do the Torah. Blessed are those who do the law.

Jas 1:25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
Jas 4:11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

Because Norman and I disagree on some things does not make me a judge over him or he over me. We are brothers and just do not see eye to eye on this point. I look forward to midrashing with him on other subject many more times.

In the emails some of you are struggling with the 49 or the 50 year as the cycle of the Jubilee. I teach the 49th and Norman is for the 50th .

In response to some of the emails, I sent out the following message to help answer this question.

You are not to follow any other men, but Yeshua only. I have provided repeatedly for the last two years all my evidence and biblical proofs. They are there for all to see. All you have to do is open your bible and read them and then either believe the bible or not.

Norman is a good and sincere man. I like him, but we disagree on this issue of when the Sabbatical year is. Therefore one of us is wrong. We both keep the sighted moon calendar and we both keep the Holy Days at the same time, but one of us is wrong concerning the Jubilee cycle. How are YOU going to prove it? After all if you choose one your children may be safe and if you choose the other your children may not be safe. This is indeed a very serious question, with serious overtones. The safety of your children is at stake.

What will you tell Yeshua at the judgement? Well, I chose to follow so and so and they were wrong. Yeshua is not going to accept that answer. You have the bible what more do you need.

You must not just believe either one of us. You must prove it to yourself beyond any doubt so that when someone comes along you will know. And right now you do not know.

Unfortunately there are many who read what I have said and it sounded true but never proved it beyond that. Now another teacher comes along and says something different. Yahweh is now testing the brethren. Prove all things!!!!!

I will not leave you hanging. This week’s news letter is another proof as to how to know when the Sabbatical and Jubilee years are. Read it and then prove it. Get out your bible and prove it.

Here is some more information I have sent to Norman. I do not know if he has read it. Norman believes the Jubilee years are counted by 50 and not 49. If they are counted by 50 then none of the years I am about to show you will work? If on the other hand they are counted by 49’s or multiples of 7 then each and every one of them works according to the cycle being 49 years, and with the 50th year being the first year of the next cycle. The same way Pentecost is counted by 7 days to each weekly Sabbath. The 49th day is also a weekly Sabbath followed by the first day of the week Sunday. Sunday is the 1st day of the next count to seven and Sunday is also the 50th day. The 1st day and the 50th day are the same day. It is the same for the Jubilee cycle which Pentecost is our annual reminder.

In order for you to know and decide you will have to read these links and sit down and prove or decide which is right.
Start this study by asking Yahweh to reveal the truth to you. You want to obey Him not me or some other man, but Yahweh and him only.

As you can see there is a ton of studying to do. I urge you to do so. But as this will take a very long time to do and absorb, I also urge you to let your brethren know to begin to prepare for the next Sabbatical year starting in the spring of 2009 at Aviv.

One of the other points people are having trouble is grasping the meaning of Leviticus 25:1 And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord. 3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; 4 but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord.

What this verse is saying is that the year you come into the land the land shall have a Sabbath. We have proven in other studies that this particular year when Joshua entered the land was in fact a Jubilee year.

This verse is also telling you that when you come into the land that you are to start your count. This is confirming what I have said many times. The first year is also the 50th year the same way that the 50th day of Pentecost is also the first day of the week. Sunday.

Some then argue that verse three tells us to plant on the first year. But it does not say that. It is telling you that for each of the remaining Sabbatical cycles you shall plant for 6 years letting the land rest on the seventh year. You are to do this up until the 7th time or the 49th year. But the first year that you are in the land of Israel is a Sabbatical year. You are to start counting to 7 from this first year not after it.

For example you count 48, then 49 the Sabbatical year followed by the 50th year which is also the first year in the next count to seven. This 50th year is then followed by year number 2, then 3, then 4, then 5, then 6 and then the Sabbatical year.

Exactly the same way Pentecost is followed by Monday the second day of the week, then the third day, then the 4th and then the 5th and then the 6th and then Sabbath the 7th day. From Pentecost until the Sabbath there are only six more days.

From The Jubilee year until the next or first Sabbatical year is only 6 years. This is why when you are looking for the Sabbath in history as we have shown above they are counted by 49’s or multiples of 7.

Now while we are on this verse of Lev 25 some people also use this verse as their reason for not keeping the Sabbatical year. They reason we don’t have to keep it because we are not in the land of Israel. You only have to keep the Sabbatical year when you are in the land. So is this logic logical?

This same saying of “When you come into the land,” is found in other scriptures, so lets look at them.

Leviticus 14:33-53
33 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: 34 “When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give you as a possession, and I put the leprous plague in a house in the land of your possession, 35 and he who owns the house comes and tells the priest, saying, ‘It seems to me that there is some plague in the house,’ 36 then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes into it to examine the plague, that all that is in the house may not be made unclean; and afterward the priest shall go in to examine the house.

Does this verse say that we are to only to tell the priest when we are in the land of Israel? I don’t think so. I believe this is to be applied where ever we are and our house has some plague in it.

Once again we read in Leviticus 19:23 ‘When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised. Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you. It shall not be eaten. 24 But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a praise to the Lord. 25 And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, that it may yield to you its increase: I am the Lord your God. 26 ‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying. 27 You shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you disfigure the edges of your beard. 28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord. 29 ‘Do not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry, and the land become full of wickedness.

Now is this saying that because we are not now in the land that we can eat the fruit of the tree in the first year after planting it? Or maybe we can also eat things with blood in them, and we can practice divination or soothsaying, because we are not in the land. So cutting our flesh and tattoos are OK and we could also prostitute our daughters because this only applies to WHEN YOU COME INTO THE LAND?

Of course not, we all know this is an insane question. Yet when it comes to Lev. 25 that sanity goes right out the window and then they say the Sabbatical years only apply to when you are in the land. This is not logical thinking or rationing. Yet this is what many teach, and many other believe.

Leviticus 23:9 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 10 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. 11 He shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 And you shall offer on that day, when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering to the Lord. 13 Its grain offering shall be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to the Lord, for a sweet aroma; and its drink offering shall be of wine, one-fourth of a hin. 14 You shall eat neither bread nor parched grain nor fresh grain until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

Are we only to keep the wave sheaf offering when in the land? Again the answer is no!

If you do not yet know the importance of this offering please read Pentecost Hidden Meaning

Leviticus 23:22 ‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the Lord your God.’ “

What about this command. Does it apply to us now no matter where we live? This law is for the poor, so they have something to glean for themselves. Are we only to look after the poor when in the land? Again of course not.

Leviticus 25:1-7
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord. 3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; 4 but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard. 5 What grows of its own accord of your harvest you shall not reap, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine, for it is a year of rest for the land. 6 And the sabbath produce of the land shall be food for you: for you, your male and female servants, your hired man, and the stranger who dwells with you, 7 for your livestock and the beasts that are in your land–all its produce shall be for food.

Numbers 15:1-21
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you have come into the land you are to inhabit, which I am giving to you, 3 and you make an offering by fire to the Lord, a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering or in your appointed feasts, to make a sweet aroma to the Lord, from the herd or the flock,

Numbers 15:14 And if a stranger dwells with you, or whoever is among you throughout your generations, and would present an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord, just as you do, so shall he do. 15 One ordinance shall be for you of the assembly and for the stranger who dwells with you, an ordinance forever throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the stranger be before the Lord. 16 One law and one custom shall be for you and for the stranger who dwells with you.’ ” 17 Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 18 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land to which I bring you, 19 then it will be, when you eat of the bread of the land, that you shall offer up a heave offering to the Lord. 20 You shall offer up a cake of the first of your ground meal as a heave offering; as a heave offering of the threshing floor, so shall you offer it up. 21 Of the first of your ground meal you shall give to the Lord a heave offering throughout your generations.

Here in Numbers 15 we are told at the beginning of in verse 2 and later in 18 When you come into the land. So all of this verse is referring to when you are in the land right, and only when you are in the land? So then those of us in other lands are free to disregard this commandment in verse 16 One law and one custom shall be for you and for the stranger who dwells with you? We can have another law for the stranger. Two different books, one for those who live in the land and one for those who live everywhere else. Again No we can not.

Numbers 34:1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Command the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance–the land of Canaan to its boundaries.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14
9 “When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. 14 For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you.

Now this one here in Deuteronomy Moses is saying that those of us outside the land of Israel are allowed to learn the abominations that Yahweh hated. In fact if we keep using the logic that some people use we can pass our children through the fire to Molech because we are not in the land. We could take all our kids on December 25th just like Israel used to do when they were in the land and pass them through the fire. Only now because we are not in the land we won’t get in trouble with Yahweh. This logic is absurd if you would only think about it.

Deuteronomy 26:1-11
1 “And it shall be, when you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it, 2 that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground, which you shall bring from your land that the Lord your God is giving you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide. 3 And you shall go to the one who is priest in those days, and say to him, ‘I declare today to the Lord your God that I have come to the country which the Lord swore to our fathers to give us.’ 4 Then the priest shall take the basket out of your hand and set it down before the altar of the Lord your God. 5 And you shall answer and say before the Lord your God: ‘My father was a Syrian, about to perish, and he went down to Egypt and dwelt there, few in number; and there he became a nation, great, mighty, and populous. 6 But the Egyptians mistreated us, afflicted us, and laid hard bondage on us. 7 Then we cried out to the Lord God of our fathers, and the Lord heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labor and our oppression. 8 So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. 9 He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, “a land flowing with milk and honey”; 10 and now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which you, O Lord, have given me.’ Then you shall set it before the Lord your God, and worship before the Lord your God. 11 So you shall rejoice in every good thing which the Lord your God has given to you and your house, you and the Levite and the stranger who is among you.

Brethren Lev 25 is not an excuse for not keeping the Sabbatical year just because you are not in the land. The truth is that this verse is telling us that the whole earth shall keep the Sabbatical year. But we as Israelites have never taught this truth to the rest of the earth. This is one of the reasons we are reaping the penalties right now, the curse of Lev. 26

Keep Studying, and keep asking Yahweh to reveal these truths to you. Never stop asking.
