Pandemic -The First of the Three Curses in this 4th Sabbatical Cycle

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,

Barley Update
I have received a private email from Becca about the state of the barley. But as I go to post I have not been sent any pictures.
We have all read from others how this field Becca had found Aviv Barley in was being eaten by the sheep and trampled down. Those same reports then went on to malign
and discredit Becca and her reports. I do not agree with those who have to justify themselves by tearing down others. All I want are the facts. Just the facts.
So today Becca told me she had found some barley that the sheep did not eat and the heads were ready to shatter and going to self seed.
I trust Becca’s observations and I applaud her dedication to serve all of us with these reports.
Although each year I am never 100% sure until wave sheaf day if we have kept the Passover at the proper time, with this report from Becca, I am now 100% confident that we are following the cloud at the proper time. You are free to make up your own mind and do what your heart leads you to do.
In the Mail
Today as I go to finally post this News Letter, I received this email from my friend Stephen Spykerman. He came and met me at our Sukkot Festival in Jerusalem in 2009 and again in 2010. It was Stephen who wrote me and told me I had to put those things I was writing in the News Letter into a book. He absolutely insisted I do it without delay. This prodding from him resulted in The Prophecies of Abraham being published in 2010.
Dear Joseph, beloved brother in Messiah Yeshua,
Greetings from the Principality of Wales! I trust you are faring well and are high spirits in this glorious High Holy Day Season of  Unleavened Bread. I am forwarding a message from Todd Bennett of www.shemayisrael.net titled: PURIM – A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON AN ANCIENT STORY & if you click on this title you come to his video on this subject. Understanding the manifold pressures upon your valuable time, you only need to look at the bit just before the centre of the tape where he says that Haman chose the date the 13th of Adar by lot, which, as he puts it, fell “hours before Passover”, a time when the Jewish people should be in Jerusalem keeping Passover!
For me this was a revelation of double significance, as I marveled at the fact that Passover this year coincided with Purim! When Virginia told our son Julian that we are observing Passover, his response was, “But its Purim Mum!”  Since then another believer questioned why I was observing Passover on the same date as Purim? I had to explain to him that whereas Passover was a Commanded Assembly, as per Lev. 23 in the Torah, whilst Purim was merely a Jewish Festival based upon Jewish tradition. Most people who know us think we are crazy in keeping Passover now – yet nothing will shake us, as we are utterly convicted we got it right, as we did last year thanks to your inspired ministry. To me it is absolutely typical for the enemy to choose the 13th of Adar [e.g. the date of Passover that year], to kill all the Jews in the Persian Empire.
I would like to apologize to you for having argued with you in the past over the issue of celebrating Purim and Hanukkah, truth to tell you were right and I was wrong. I also repent over the fact that I too was one of those who reproached you in those early years about your marital relationship in so much that I did not support you at the time you were under vehement attack about the issue, I am ashamed of myself, as I behaved like a coward, and hence I beg your forgiveness for that too.
To make restitution, I pray for your wife and children with great fervour asking our Father to turn their hearts around. My prayers are that you may come to know and enjoy the warmth, love and comfort of a true marriage, as Yehovah intended. I am praying for a MIRACLE that will bless you out of your socks!
With much love in Messiah Yeshua,
Stephen

2 I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

My Fears Coming True

Last week I wrote you my reasons for not going to Israel and Kenya and then on the Saudi Tour I had been planning to do since October. This past week I was sent the following articles.

15 Americans quarantined in Bethlehem as Israel & Palestine struggle to stop coronavirus spread

7 Mar, 2020 09:36

Fifteen US tourists have been placed under quarantine in a hotel in the West Bank city of Bethlehem, a Palestinian authority spokesman has confirmed. The hotel was quarantined after seven tourists living there were suspected of having contracted the deadly novel coronavirus. Officially known as COVID-19, the Israeli media reported without specifying the nationalities of those under suspicion.

“There is a 15-member American delegation in the hotel. They are still there and they are being dealt with according to quarantine regulations like all the others who are there,” the spokesman, Ibrahim Melhem, told Reuters.

The Israeli authorities also put the entire city on lock-down, banning both Israelis and Palestinians from entering or leaving it. The Palestinian Authority meanwhile declared a state of emergency in the West Bank, closing schools, placing movement restrictions for the local population and barring tourists from coming to the area.

A Nile cruise boat carrying over 150 tourists and Egyptian crew is under quarantine in the southern city of Luxor after 12 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

Egyptian health authorities say a Taiwanese-American tourist on board the boat, the MS River Anuket, had tested positive for the virus upon returning to Taiwan late in February.

Local officials said there are Americans, French and Indians among the passengers. A health official said that the 12 who tested positive were isolated inside the boat while the rest of the passengers awaited test results.

The Nile boat was the latest to be put into quarantine and came as the luxury ocean-going Grand Princess was stranded off the San Francisco coast in the US after 21 passengers returned positive test results for Covid-19.

Globally, there are now more than 100,000 infected people, and nearly 3400 deaths.

I also have an email from a lady who wanted to go on the tour with us but cancelled write to say she is looking for a place to stay as she was now under quarantine in Israel due to the coronavirus.

This past Wednesday, USA President Trump shut down all air travel between the USA and Europe. This was immediately after the WHO declared the Corona Virus a Pandemic. This Wednesday in case some of you did not know it, was in fact Passover, Nisan 15, 2020. Also at this time, the National Basketball League shut down all future games for this season. Then The National Hockey League did the same and the National Baseball League is also considering postponing opening day. When I went back to work on Thursday, the guys at work were all over me asking me what was going on and saying just how bad this was. The same guys who just last week were poking fun at the future pandemic. The roughest and toughest of the bunch, came up to me and in all sincerity said it was because we as a people were sinning. But he did not consider what he was doing as sin. LOL.

I have been trying to get this news letter out to you now for over a month. Yes I have been trying to send it out for about that amount of time. But then Passover came 30 days sooner than I had ever expected and I have been in rush ever since trying to get ready and catch up.
I hope this is a blessing to you all.

Leaven and the 7th Millennium

We are now in the days of Unleavened Bread. Tuesday will be the 7th day of Unleavened Bread.

The Passover

Lev 23:4  These are the appointed feasts of Jehovah, holy convocations which you shall proclaim in their appointed seasons.
Lev 23:5  In the fourteenth day of the first month, between the evenings, is Jehovah’s Passover,
Lev 23:6  and on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to Jehovah. You must eat unleavened bread seven days.
Lev 23:7  On the first day you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no work of labor,
Lev 23:8  but you shall offer a fire offering to Jehovah seven days. In the seventh day is a holy convocation. You shall do no work of labor.

We have explained to you in other teachings how the 7 days of Unleavened Bread represent each of the 7 Millennium and how during those 7 millennium we are to be putting sin out of our lives in the same way we are to put leaven out of our homes during these 7 days.

Exo 12:15  You shall eat unleavened bread seven days; even the first day you shall put away leaven out of your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
Exo 12:16  And on the first day shall be a holy gathering, and in the seventh day there shall be a holy gathering for you. No manner of work shall be done in them, except that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you.
Exo 12:17  And you shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For in this same day I have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall keep this day in your generations by a law forever.
Exo 12:18  In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month at evening.
Exo 12:19  Seven days there shall be no leaven found in your houses. For whoever eats that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, among the aliens and among the natives of the land.
Exo 12:20  You shall eat nothing leavened. In all your dwelling-places you shall eat unleavened bread.

Deu 16:2  And you shall therefore sacrifice the Passover to Jehovah your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Jehovah shall choose to place His name there.
Deu 16:3  You shall eat no leavened bread with it. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of affliction, for you came forth out of the land of Egypt in haste, so that you may remember the day that you came forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.
Deu 16:4  And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you in all your borders for seven days. Nor shall any of the flesh which you sacrificed in the first day at evening remain all night until the morning.

What does the leaven represent? What was Yehovah teaching us that we still do not get today?

1Co 5:6  Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
1Co 5:7  Therefore purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.
1Co 5:8  Therefore let us keep the feast; not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

During these 7 days of Unleavened Bread we are to put out of our lives the evil that is agaisnt the Torah. We do this using leaven each year as an example of the greater struggle we are to be putting out of our lives always and that is sin that is against the Torah. That includes adding to the Torah things that are not in it as Yehshua pointed out to the disciples.

The Leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees

Mat 16:5  And when His disciples had come to the other side, they forgot to take loaves.
Mat 16:6  And Jesus said to them, Take heed, and beware the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Mat 16:7  And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It’s because we have taken no loaves.
Mat 16:8  And knowing Jesus said to them, Why do you reason among yourselves because you took no loaves, little-faiths?
Mat 16:9  Do you not yet understand, nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many hand baskets you took up;
Mat 16:10  nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many lunch baskets you took up?
Mat 16:11  How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you about loaves, but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
Mat 16:12  Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
In the Garden of Eden Yehovah walked with Adam and Eve. This is representative of the 1st Holy Day of Unleavened Bread or the first Millennium.

Gen 3:8  And they heard the voice of Jehovah God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. And Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Jehovah God in the middle of the trees of the garden.
Gen 3:9  And Jehovah God called to Adam and said to him, Where are you?

This was the day that sealed the fate of Yehovah who would give His own life for our debt of sin. The lamb that was slain on the 14th of Nisan and eaten at the beginning of the 15th, the Day the death Angel passed over Israel killing the first born of Egypt to begin the Exodus.

Rev 13:8  And all dwelling on the earth will worship it, those whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain, from the foundation of the world.

The 7th day of Unleavened Bread is represented by the time when Israel crossed the Red Sea and the entire army of Egypt, over 600,000 men were destroyed and Israel delivered from them. The army of Egypt represents Satan.

We have a similar event told to us in Revelation.

Rev 12:13  And when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who bore the man child .
Rev 12:14  And two wings of a great eagle were given to the woman, so that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the serpent’s face.
Rev 12:15  And the serpent cast out of his mouth water like a flood after the woman, so that he might cause her to be carried away by the river.
Rev 12:16  And the earth helped the woman. And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
Rev 12:17  And the dragon was enraged over the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

This takes place at the end of the 6th millennial day and not the 7th because Satan is locked away during the seventh Millennium. It is during this Seventh Millennium that King David will rule over us and the final removal of leaven from our lives and from the world will take place.

Hos 3:4  For the sons of Israel shall live many days with no king, and no ruler, and with no sacrifice, and no pillars, and no ephod, or teraphim.
Hos 3:5  Afterward the sons of Israel shall return and seek Jehovah their God and David their king. And they shall fear Jehovah and His goodness in the ends of the days.

The Valley of Dry Bones

Eze 37:1  The hand of Jehovah was on me, and brought me by the Spirit of Jehovah, and made me rest in the midst of a valley, and it was full of bones.
Eze 37:2  And He made me pass among them all around. And behold, very many were on the face of the valley. And lo, they were very dry.
Eze 37:3  And he said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord Jehovah, You know.
Eze 37:4  Again He said to me, Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the Word of Jehovah.
Eze 37:5  So says the Lord Jehovah to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.
Eze 37:6  And I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am Jehovah.
Eze 37:7  So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a noise. And behold, a shaking! And the bones came near, a bone to its bone.
Eze 37:8  And I watched. And behold! The sinews and the flesh came up on them, and the skin covered them above. But there was no breath in them.
Eze 37:9  And He said to me, Prophesy to the Spirit, prophesy, son of man, and say to the Spirit, So says the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O Spirit, and breathe on these dead ones so that they may live.
Eze 37:10  So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the Spirit came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Eze 37:11  And He said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones aredried and our hope is lost; we are cut off by ourselves.
Eze 37:12  Therefore prophesy and say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, and will bring you into the land of Israel.
Eze 37:13  And you shall know that I am Jehovah when I have opened your graves, O My people, and have brought you up out of your graves.
Eze 37:14  And I shall put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. And you shall know that I Jehovah have spoken and have done it, says Jehovah.
I Will Be Their God, They Shall Be My People
Eze 37:15  And the Word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
Eze 37:16  And you, son of man, take a stick and write on it, For Judah and for his companions, the sons of Israel. And take another stick and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and all the house of Israel, his companions.
Eze 37:17  And join them to one another into one stick. And they shall become one in your hand.
Eze 37:18  And when the sons of your people shall speak to you, saying, Will you not declare to us what these mean to you?
Eze 37:19  Say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions, and I will put them with him, with the stick of Judah, and will make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.
Eze 37:20  And the sticks on which you write shall be in your hand before their eyes.
Eze 37:21  And say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and will gather them on every side, and will bring them into their own land.
Eze 37:22  And I will make them one nation in the land on the mountains of Israel, and one King shall be king to them all. And they shall not still be two nations, nor shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.
Eze 37:23  Nor shall they be defiled with their idols, even with their filthy idols, nor with all of their transgressions. But I will save them out of all their dwelling places, in them where they sinned, and will cleanse them. And they shall be to Me for a people, and I will be to them for God.
Eze 37:24  And David My servant shall be King over them. And there shall be one Shepherd to all of them. And they shall walk in My judgments, and obey My Laws, and do them.
Eze 37:25  And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, the land in which your fathers have lived. And they shall dwell in it, even they and their sons, and the sons of their sons for ever. And My servant David shall be their ruler forever.
Eze 37:26  And I will cut a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them, and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever.
Eze 37:27  And My tabernacle shall be with them. Yea, I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Eze 37:28  And the nations shall know that I Jehovah sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be in their midst forever.

The anointed one, King David, who was anointed by Samuel as a boy and then by Judah when they made him King and then again by all of ISrael 7 years later when all 12 tribes were united under his Kingship. King David is the anointed one, the Mashiach that is going to rule over us during this 7th Millennium.

The Restoration of Israel

Amo 9:11  In that day I will raise up the booth of David that has fallen, and close up its breaks; and I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old;
Amo 9:12  so that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the nations on whom My name is called, says Jehovah who is doing this.

When does this take place? When is David going to be made King over us?

Jer 30:3  For, lo, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will bring again the captivity of My people Israel and Judah, says Jehovah. And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave their fathers, and they shall possess it.

When is that captivity going to take place?

We have been warning you since 2005 that this captivity was to take place starting in the year 2020, which we have now just begun. The captivity begins this year, the 2300 days of Hell when Israel, all 12 tribes will be hunted and slaughtered, by the millions. This is about to begin and still many laugh at our warnings. It is from this captivity that the remnant will be brought back out from and returned to the land of ISrael. Some call this the second exodus.

The Lord Will Restore Israel

Jer 16:14  So, behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that it shall no more be said, As Jehovah lives, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
Jer 16:15  but, As Jehovah lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands where He had driven them. And I will bring them again into their lands that I gave to their fathers.
Jer 16:16  Behold, I will send for many fishermen, says Jehovah, and they will fish them. And afterwards I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
Jer 16:17  For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity hidden from My eyes.
Jer 16:18  And first I will twice repay their iniquity and their sin, because they have defiled My land, they have filled My inheritance with the dead bodies of their abominable things.

Jer 30:8  For it shall be in that day, says Jehovah of Hosts, I will break his yoke from your neck and will burst your bonds. And strangers shall no longer enslave him,
Jer 30:9  but they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up to them.

Right now as you practice putting sin out of your lives by removing the leaven from your homes, you are acknowledging the day soon when King Daivd will rule and set up the Kingdom during the 7th Millennium where sin will not be tolerated and it will be put down in righteousness. Those days are directly in front of us. Pray you and your children can serve in this Kingdom for the next millennium.

It was during that first millennium that Yehovah said;

Gen 6:3  And Jehovah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, in his erring; he is flesh. Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

The word years is Shanah in Hebrew and means cycles of time. 120 Jubilee cycles later brings you to today, our time now. Once the 7th Millennium begins under King David, then Yehovah will not be striving with man but will be working with them and blessing them as He has promised He would do if and when we ever decided to obey. That is when we get the leaven out of our lives.

The Plagues of the 2nd Exodus

I have been trying to get this article out now for about a month of more. The world events keep changing and are hard to keep on top of. Then Yehovah took 30 days away from us and moved Passover ahead which meant the time I had planned to teach about Passover was rushed and I lost 4 weeks off of my schedule.

Becca said in her reports that it seemed like Yehovah was rushing spring along. Things were happening very fast. And we have said it now seems like Yehovah is rushing things along because Judgment upon Israel has been decalred and is about to be swiftly executed.

Ecc 8:11  Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

Job 21:11-15
11  They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
12  They lift up voice at the timbral and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the flute.
13  They spend their days in good, and in a moment go down to the grave.
14  And they say to God, Depart from us; for we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways;
15  what is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit should we have if we pray to Him?

Isaiah 5:18-19   (MKJV)
18  Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin with cart ropes;
19  who say, Let Him hurry and hasten His work, so that we may see it; and let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, so that we may know!

Since 2005, I have been telling people about the 5 curses of Lev 26. The curses that come in accordance to the Sabbatical cycles which we are told about in Lev 25. But the world laughed and made fun of me as a nut job. Even those that are called brethren laughed and mocked us.

Christians especially made fun of the things we said and stated that these laws were done away. Brethren said that they should keep the Sabbath and Holy Days but the Sabbatical years were just for the land of Israel and the Jews only.

People forget the commission given to Israel. They were to teach the whole world the Torah.

If they were not to that then why does John claim the whole world had sinned.

Joh 1:29  The next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Yehshua too told the disciples to go into the whole world.

The Great Commission

Mat 28:16  And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
Mat 28:17  And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him. But some doubted.
Mat 28:18  And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority is given to Me in Heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19  Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20  teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.

And today we are witnessing the whole world suffer one plague after another. We barely got time to show you each plague before the next one is upon us. This sure does sound like the events leading up to the Exodus.

We had the Mississippi River flood last year and the standing water in many of the fields prevented the bread basket of the world from planting a crop. California was plagued by wildfires of biblical proportions.

In preparing this article I asked Pauline for a list of each world disaster that has occurred. She sent me the following which is an excellent way to help keep a record of these world events and then to look back upon them to see if you see a pattern develop. Each of you could do the same to keep a record. You can download these charts from sightedmoon.com

In November and December of 2019 and January until March of 2020,  we had the following headline news stories.

We had the USA assassinate the Iranian general. Then Iran attacked two US bases in Iraq and the world held it breathe and prayed no Americans would be killed and justify the USA invasion of Iran. While we held our breath, Iran shot down a passenger airplane killing 176 on board.

As Australia was entering their summer, wildfires erupted which was the earliest they had had them. This then developed in whole cities evacuating and people running for their lives into the ocean for safety from the wildfires which raced across the land. This was then followed by flooding rains and softball sized hail destroying hundreds of cars.

Puerto Rico which was still trying to recover from the devastating Hurricane which flattened the island in 2018 now suffered an earthquake destroying the buildings that had survived the hurricane.

There were a number of earthquakes and volcano eruptions around the world including Mt Taal in the Philippines, which through a huge shadow over Manila.

There was an over abundance of rain and snow across the Middle East. Then we had what many News reports claimed was a biblical plague of locusts across Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, Pakistan Afghanistan and Iran. These locusts were eating all the vegetation and leaving nothing behind. This included the food crops.

Then we had the Corona virus break out in China and it is now spreading to every country around the world. And declared officially a Pandemic on Passover day March 10, 2020.

This little germ, this little virus is causing stock markets around the world to crash and countries to shut down flights and visitors from certain nations. Whole cities of millions are under quarantine and tour groups are being locked up on cruise ships around the world. Italy and Israel are closing down

It is becoming terrifying.

Best Case Scenario of Covid-19

15 MILLION people will die and the global economy will take a $2.3 TRILLION hit from coronavirus in the BEST-CASE scenario, new study predicts

Research by Australian National University lays out a range of virus outcomes In the worst case, the global death toll could reach a staggering 68million
Some countries’ economies could shrink by eight per cent in a global meltdown

The global death toll from coronavirus could reach as high as 15 million even in the best-case pandemic scenario, a new study says.
The research by the Australian National University also found that global GDP could shrink by as much as $2.3 trillion even in what they call a ‘low-end’ pandemic.
In the most disastrous scenario, the death toll could reach a staggering 68 million including hundreds of thousands of deaths in Britain and the United States.
In that worst-case pandemic, some countries’ economies would shrink by as much as eight per cent in a global meltdown.
The two researchers who published the paper, Warwick McKibbon and Roshen Fernando, warn that ‘even a contained outbreak could significantly impact the global economy in the short run’.
In the so-called ‘low-severity’ case, the death rate in China is estimated at around two per cent and adjusted for other countries.
The global death rate has been drifting higher than that in recent weeks, currently hovering around 3.4 per cent.
In that ‘low-end’ pandemic, the study estimates that more than 15 million people would die within the first year of the outbreak, which started in China last December.
The estimates suggest that India and China would each lose millions of people, with more than 230,000 people killed in the United States.
‘These estimated deaths from COVID-19 can be compared to a regular influenza season in the United States, where around 55,000 people die each year,’ researchers point out.
Britain – which has only seen one death so far – could expect to see 64,000 fatalities, with 79,000 in Germany and 60,000 in France.
South Korea and Italy, which have suffered particularly widespread outbreaks in recent weeks, would also be bracing for tens of thousands of deaths, the study says.
In that scenario, Britain’s GDP would drop by around 1.5 per cent, with America’s economy shrinking by 2.0 per cent.
The global economy would take a $2.3 billion hit, the researchers estimate, with Australia and Germany also forecast to slide into severe recessions.
In the ‘high-severity’ forecast, the coronavirus outbreak would cause a catastrophic death toll of more than 68million people around the world, researchers say.
The dead would include more than 12 million people in China alone, as well as 1.1 million in the United States.
Britain’s death toll would be a catastrophic 290,000, with Germany and France likewise losing hundreds of thousands of people.
Russia’s fatality count would also be approaching a million in that scenario, the researchers’ data shows.
In that disastrous outcome, the global economy would take a $9.2trillion hit with many countries facing very deep recessions.
The British economy would shrink by 6.0 per cent in 2020 in that scenario – worse than the 4.2 per cent drop it suffered at the depths of the global financial crisis in 2009.
Meanwhile the U.S. economy would suffer an 8.4 per cent drop in a recession which would reverberate around the world.
There is also a ‘mid-severity’ estimate, in which the global death toll would be around 38 million and the global economic hit around $5.3 trillion.
Researchers say that the probability of any of their projected outcomes are ‘highly uncertain’.
‘The goal is not to be definitive about the virus outbreak but to provide important information about a range of possible economic costs of the disease,’ they say.
They add: ‘Amidst the slowing down of the Chinese economy with interruptions to production, the functioning of global supply chains has been disrupted.’
‘Companies across the world, irrespective of size, dependent upon inputs from China have started experiencing contractions in production.
‘Transport being limited and even restricted among countries has further slowed down global economic activities.
‘Most importantly, some panic among consumers and firms has distorted usual consumption patterns and created market anomalies.
‘Global financial markets have also been responsive to the changes and global stock indices have plunged.
‘Amidst the global turbulence, in an initial assessment, the International Monetary Fund expects China to slow down by 0.4 percentage points compared to its initial growth target to 5.6 per cent, also slowing down global growth by 0.1 percentage points.’
The researchers say that a ‘range of policy responses will be required’ to prevent disaster.
The current global death toll is 3,383 out of 98,703 confirmed cases.
Most of them are in China, but the virus has been spreading faster in other hotspots such as Italy, Iran and South Korea in recent weeks.
Tokyo stocks ended the morning session more than three percent lower on Friday, as worries over the spread of the new coronavirus intensified.
Some countries have already announced an economic stimulus, with Italy yesterday unveiling plans to loosen its budgetary rules.

And Now Bird Flu H5N6

Even as I prepare this News Letter this article came across my desk. It is happening so fast I cannot keep up.

China now has to fight coronavirus AND bird flu: ‘Highly pathogenic’ avian influenza hits two Chinese provinces near Hubei

Some 1,840 fowl were killed by the H5N6 virus in Sichuan, China said yesterday 4,500 chickens had died of the H5N1 bug in Hunan, officials reported on Feb. 1
Four cases of bird flu outbreaks were also recorded in Xinjiang in January alone The news comes as Beijing drains all its medical resources to fight coronavirus
The disease has killed at least 910 people and infected over 40,640 globally

‘Highly pathogenic’ bird flu has broken out in two Chinese provinces near Hubei since the beginning of the month as Beijing struggles to contain the novel coronavirus currently ravaging the country.
Nearly 2,000 fowl were killed by the H5N6 strain of avian influenza on a poultry farm in Sichuan Province, Chinese agricultural authority announced yesterday.
Just eight days earlier, 4,500 chickens were reported to have died of H5N1 virus in the province of Hunan.
Four outbreaks of H5N6 bird flu were also reported in western China’s Xinjiang in January alone.

We Have Been Warning you since 2005

I have told you many times already how the Sabbatical and Jubilee year cycles were revealed to me once I repented and began to obey the Feast Days according to Yehovah’s calendar and no longer according to the Hillel calendar. The year 2005 I was tested as to whether I would keep the Passover 30 days ahead of when everyone else I knew was going to keep them. I was doing it according to the Barley and the crescent moon for the first time. It was at this same time, in fact this same day that I was shown the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles.

That year at Sukkot I was given the opportunity to teach on this subject and explain how the Jubilee cycles revealed end time prophecy. I had been trying to explain this to my United Church of God Brethren who did not want to hear it. After all, I had not gone to Ambassador Colledge, so what did I know. From Sukkot onwards I sought out any means possible to share this message and I kept trying to figure out how I could “break out” and have videos and regular teachings to do this by.

Then in March 2008 I was given the chance to do exactly this on the Prophecy Club and I toured 10 cities in 12 days across the entire USA. At the end, they made a video of my presentation. You can watch part one and part two at these links. By the end of Part one I have explained the first two curses of Lev 26 and begin the third curse which I then go into detail in part two. I encourage you all to go back 12 years ago to my first video and my first tour presenting this subject.

After this tour I then put my notes about this into our weekly News Letter in 2008 and again in 2009.

Those notes would then be taken and used in our first book The Prophecies of Abraham which was then published in 2010.

I am telling you this so that you can verify and so that you know I have not changed my message over the years. I have said the same thing consistently since the beginning. I have refined it over the years and I am now a better presenter than I was back then. But the message remains the same and it has all been coming true. Stunningly accurately true.

Who else is doing this? Who else is telling you about the Sabbatical and Jubilee years? Who is teaching you about the curses that come at certain times in that Jubilee cycle? Who else is showing you end-time prophecy by understanding the Jubilee cycles? WHO?

Sadly we are the only ministry doing this and we have done so alone since 2005. Will you now get behind this ministry and begin to support it with your hard earned finances? We have much to do and next to no time to get it done. We need you now to start to make monthly regular donations to help us get this work done and begin the next phase that is soon to begin. We want you to invest in your future the same as you would invest in your retirement funds. If you do not put into it then you can expect to get nothing from it when you need it. Stop putting it off. Do it now.

If you have not read our teachings in The Prophecies of Abraham, or Remembering the Sabbatical Year of 2016, or The 2300 Days of Hell or It was a Riddle Not a Command, or The Blood Moon, The Elephant in the Room and our study manual Lessons for the Kingdom, then I cannot urge you strongly enough to get them now and begin to study. Prove us wrong if you can. Many have tried and they are now working with us and supporting this work. But you might be the first to do so, so please do try.

I have next copied our teaching on this 3rd curse from I think it was 2008 and what I used in the Prophecies of Abraham. I have not edited anything. Tell me if this is accurate or not.

What I point out on my DVD is that Leviticus 26 explains two things. One is that there are blessings and the second pertains to what most people forget to read, which has to do with the fact that there are also curses for not keeping these Commandments of Yehovah. The amazing thing is that these curses are given out in seven year increments exactly in the same order of the Jubilee Cycle of seven year Sabbaticals. Here is a list of the curses found in Leviticus:

The 1st Curse I 14 But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. (Leviticus 26:14-17)

The 2nd Curse | 18 And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. 19 I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze.     20 And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit. (Leviticus 26:18-20)

The 3rd Curse I 21 Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins. 22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your highways shall be desolate. (Leviticus 26:21-22)

The 4th Curse I 23 And if by these things you are not reformed by Me, but walk contrary to Me, 24 then I also will walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins. 25 And I will bring a sword against you that will execute the vengeance of the covenant; when you are gathered together within your cities I will send pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 26 When I have cut off your supply of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall bring back your bread by weight, and you shall eat and not be satisfied. (Leviticus 26:23-26)

The 5th & Final Curse | 27 And after all this, if you do not obey Me, but walk contrary to Me, 28 then I also  will walk contrary to you in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. 29 You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters. 30 I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars, and cast your carcasses on the lifeless forms of your idols; and My soul shall abhor you. 31 I will lay your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the fragrance of your sweet aromas. 32 I will bring the land to desolation, and your enemies who dwell in it shall be astonished at it.  33 I will scatter you among the nations and draw out a sword after you; your land shall be desolate and your cities waste. 34 Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land; then the land shall rest and enjoy its sabbaths. 35 As long as it lies desolate it shall rest—for the time it did not rest on your sabbaths when you dwelt in it. 36 ‘And as for those of you who are left, I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; the sound of a shaken leaf shall cause them to flee; they shall flee as though fleeing from a sword, and they shall fall when no one pursues. 37 They shall stumble over one another, as it were before a sword, when no one pursues; and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies. 38 You shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39 And those of you who are left shall waste away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; also in their fathers’ iniquities, which are with them, they shall waste away. (Leviticus 26:27-39)

This is very tough and very difficult to understand for many of you who already think you’re saved and that you’re already good. I go into a lot of detail in my DVD and explain each one of these curses as they are laid out above, and I show from history how Yehovah has applied these exact same curses to the Nations of Israel and Judah in the same order that He has told us above. Again the Scriptures already quoted come to mind:

8 Yehshua is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

6 For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. (Malachi 3:6)

Yehovah does not change. Therefore His curses and the order in which they are meted out do not change either. He is the same as He was in the days of Adam as He is today with us. With this understanding I was able to make the following chart on the next page.

  • Column #1 pertains to the years of the Jubilee Cycles 1-50. Those years coloured in blue are the third and sixth year of a seven year cycle and are the years of tithing to the
  • Column #2 tells you which years are the Sabbatical
  • Column #3 is the current Gregorian years as we know
  • Column #4 is the counting of years 1-7 repeatedly throughout the Jubilee
  • Column #5 shows us which Sabbatical Cycle we are in
  • Column #6 shows us when the First Curse of Terror begins and when it ends. Notice that once it starts it continues, and each of the other curses is added to
  • Column #7 shows when the Second Curse of Drought and severe weather happens. Again, notice that it is added to the First Curse and each of the following curses are added to these first
  • Column #8 shows us the Third Curse of Pestilence and it is added to the previous two. Take note that this curse throughout the Scriptures is almost always mentioned in accordance with

You will also note that in this column are the fall Holy Days. They are listed here because the Eighth Day Festival, Pentecost and the Year of Jubilee all have a similar teachings or themes. It was in noticing this that I was able to count back by the number of years; in the same manner as there is the number of days between each of the fall Holy Days. By doing this I was able to fill in the rest of this Jubilee Cycle. Continuing on:

  • Column #9 shows us the Fourth Curse of the Sword or War. This is when Israel is defeated. Also in this column are the years of the Great Tribulation counting back from the year of Atonement when all the curses are
  • Column #10 shows the Fifth Curse of Captivity, which is a result of the Fourth Curse of War. Also in this column are shown the three and one-half years that Israel the woman goes into hiding at the end of the Great Tribulation

It was from understanding the chart on the next page and how these curses are being told to us on the nightly news each night that I came to understand the Prophecies of Abraham.

1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed. (Matthew 16:1-4)

It was by understanding Leviticus 26 and the nightly news that I was able to discern the signs of the times we are currently in.

Please do watch my DVD at: http://www.sightedmoon.com/?page_id=251 so that you too can know for sure exactly where we are in Bible prophecy. It was Yehovah who revealed all these things to me over time. Let Him do the same for you, but know that time is quickly marching on.

Chapter I

Abraham’s Famine & Chronology

Having now explained all of this, in order for you to understand the many things that simply are not being taught nearly to the extent they should be, I hope you will now be ready to grasp the significant teachings and insights into the Prophecies of Abraham as we set out to delve more deeply into this most amazing subject.

On January 17th of 2009, I sent out a newsletter to our largest ever mailing of over 10,000 readers.

You can review the entire article: Does Yahweh Change or His Punishments Change?

I wrote this article to show how the Third Curse of Leviticus 26:21-22 was in force even in Abraham’s time before the Land was ever given to him. This curse was applied to the world at that time, just as this Third Curse will apply to the whole world in our time. I did this in order to put to rest the one excuse many were using in order not to keep the Sabbatical Year. That excuse is found in Leviticus 25:2 where Moses was told to tell the people that ‘when they come into the Land‘, they shall keep the Sabbatical Years. People have reasoned-and done so wrongly, that this means the Sabbatical Years are only for when you are in the Land. Not so. They are for the whole world and for all people to obey everywhere.

That was why I wrote that article, but looking back, I now see how I was being directed to share this series of Prophecies given to us by our Father Abraham. I am also seeing how this famine, once it starts, will last for years right up until the end when one quarter of the earth’s total population will die of starvation (Famine) and the Sword. That is the famine will increase some years and decrease in other years. You should be aware that as of this writing in 2009, the current food supply is just one small disaster away from famine conditions. We no longer have amble supplies of food stored away for a rainy day. Those days are now historythe

This is a serious warning to each of you brethren. If you do not act on those things I am about to share here, then in a short time you will not be able to act on them at all due to the dollar no longer being of any value. Along with this hyper-inflation, you will also have to deal with the following curse in Leviticus:

22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your highways shall be desolate. (Leviticus 26:22)

I have been telling you since August 2005, that this Third Curse is going to rob you of your children. But take special note of the last part of the verse. It says that your highways shall be desolate.

Desolate is the word Shamen and it means the following: to be desolate, be appalled, stun, stupefy

  1. (Qal)
    1. to be desolated, be deflowered, be deserted, be appalled
    2. to be appalled, be awestruck
  2. (Niphal)
    1. to be desolated, be made desolate
    2. to be appalled
  3. (Polel)
    1. to be stunned
    2. appalling, causing horror (participle) 1c
  4. horror-causer, appaller (subst)
  5. (Hiphil)
    1. to devastate, ravage, make desolated
    2. to appal, show horror
  6. (Hophal) to lay desolate, be desolated
  7. (Hithpolel)
    1. to cause to be desolate
    2. to be appalled, be astounded
    3. to cause oneself desolation, cause oneself ruin

Your roadways will be deserted. This plague will cause all traffic to stop. No one will be driving, flying or going by trains for fear of catching this plague. And you can be absolutely positive that no country will let you in if you are coming from a place that has these out of control plagues ravaging the land.

From the Independent Paper in the UK of April 12, 2008 is a report talking about the newest development of the bird flu which could cause a pandemic killing millions. This is an epidemic being brought to us by wild beasts just as Leviticus 26 warns us.

Then in July 2009 the headline news from the UK is that the Government expects 100,000 new cases of Swine flu per day by the end of August 2009.

Then again in the papers comes the following article from Reuters of Hong Kong in November 25 of 2009 that China experts warn of a pandemic flu mutation where the H1N1 swine flu could mix with the H5N1 bird flu because both of these influenza are now present in China which if combine would be a fast transmittable virus with deadly results.

Brethren, I urge you to consider the times we are now entering and consider those things that Abraham is going to show us, and then act. These are the most serious of times. This is the Third Curse of Leviticus 26 which is explained in great detail on the DVD that I urge you to watch. Let me say it again, because Yehovahh does not change, neither do his punishments or the order in which He gives them out.

8 Yehshua is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

6 For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. (Malachi 3:6)

We have been emphasizing the Third Curse which is now here and is as follows:

21 Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins. 22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your highways shall be desolate. (Leviticus 26:21-22)

On my website I posted the following Newsletter 5844-008, which can be read at: http://www.sightedmoon.com/?page_id=246 In it, I show you as much as I can about this Third Curse and how it has played out in history repeatedly during this third cycle of the Jubilee Cycle.

We shall read it next.

1961-1975 | 1960’s Cholera called El Tor
Here is the last Jubilee Cycle. In it you can see the years that this plague took place in. It was the 3rd, 4th and part of the fifth Sabbatical Cycles. All this information comes from Wikipedia so as not to be influenced by my own thoughts.

1912-1926 | 1899-1923 Cholera and 1918-1920 Avian Flu

Leviticus 26:21

Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins.

:22 I will also send wild beast among you,

which shall rob you of your children,

destroy your livestock,

and make you few in number;

and your highways shall be desolate.

In 1918 the Flue epidemic killed 20 to 40 Million worldwide

20 to 40 Million

Also take note that the Cholera epidemic lasted until the year 1926 which I did not colour in this chart. Again these plagues cover two full Sabbatical cycles and the first year of the 5th Sabbatical Cycle.

1863-1877 Cholera

As we go further back in time we see that in the next Jubilee cycle there was another cholera plague starting in 1863 and going to 1877. Again I have retrieved my information from Wikipedia and not made up my own dates. Again the plague goes from the third Sabbatical cycle to the first year of the 5th Sabbatical cycle.

1814-1828 | 1816-1826 | 1829-1851 Cholera

Again in this Jubilee Cycle the plague begins 1814 and then subsequent plagues go all the way to 1851. I only recorded on this chart those years that matched what we are showing you from 1814-1828.

1765-1779 | 1775-1776 Influenza

We have now gone back 5 Jubilee cycles and we are seeing a clear pattern that in the third and fourth Sabbatical Cycles and the first year of the 5th Sabbatical Cycles plague are part of the life of the tribes of Israel.

1716-1730 | 1732-1733 Influenza

We have now gone back 6 Jubilee cycles with the same pattern.

When we keep going back and checking other plagues that struck the Israelite nations we can see that some hit during our time that we are looking at while others did not. I will highlight those that fit our observation.

1720-22 Great Plague; France,

1710-11 Plague; Sweden,

1668 Plague; France,

 1665 Great Plague; England,

1663-64 Plague; Holland,

 1636 Plague; England,

1603 Plague; England,

1574 Plague; Scotland,

1563-64, 1509-10, 1498 Plague; England,

1494-95 plague; Iceland,

1485 sweating; England,

 1428 Plague; England

The Corona Virus and Our Current Jubilee Cycle

We have now gone back 6 Jubilee cycles with the same pattern. Then when we look at our current and final Jubilee cycle for this 6th Millennial day we would expect to see the same pattern. this means that stating in the 3rd Sabbatical cycle of  2010 and going until 2024 should be dominates by the news of plagues. We were writing about swine flu in 2009 and showing you how Mexico was shutting down just a Lev 26 said the cities would. But then it died off and did not sweep the world as expected. We hear of Bird flu and H1N1 and H5 N1 in the subsequent years but nothing happened. There was and is still Ebola in Africa but it did not turn into a pandemic. But now in 2020 a pandemic has emerged. WHO has not declared it a pandemic but I am not afraid to call it that.

Let me now share with you a story you are all familiar with. And I want you to pay close attention to verse 13 and read it and think.

David’s Census
2Sa 24:1  And again the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and He moved David against them to say, Go count Israel and Judah.

2Sa 24:2  For the king said to Joab the commander of the army, who was with him, Go around through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beer-sheba, and count the people so that I may know the number of the people.

2Sa 24:3  And Joab said to the king, And may Jehovah your God add to the people however many they be, a hundred times as many, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king delight in this thing?

2Sa 24:4  But the king’s word prevailed against Joab, and against the commanders of the army. And Joab and the commanders of the army went out from the presence of the king to number the people of Israel.

2Sa 24:5  And they passed over Jordan and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that is in the middle of the Valley of Gad, and to Jazer.

2Sa 24:6  And they came to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtim-hodshi. And they came to Dan-jaan, and around to Sidon.

2Sa 24:7  And they came to the stronghold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites and of the Canaanites; and went out to the south of Judah, to Beer-sheba.

2Sa 24:8  And they went to and fro through all the land, and came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

2Sa 24:9  And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to the king. And there were in Israel eight hundred thousand strong men who drew the sword. And the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

The Lord’s Judgment of David’s Sin
2Sa 24:10  And David’s heart struck him after he had numbered the people. And David said to Jehovah, I have sinned greatly in what I have done. And now, I beseech You, O Jehovah, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.

2Sa 24:11  And David rose up in the morning. And the Word of Jehovah came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying,

2Sa 24:12  Go and say to David, So says Jehovah, I offer you three things. Choose one of them, so that I may do it to you.

2Sa 24:13  And Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him, Shall seven years of famine come upon you and on your land? Or will you flee three months before your enemies while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ plague in your land? And advise, and see what answer I shall return to Him who sent me.

2Sa 24:14  And David said to Gad, I am in great distress. Let us fall now into the hand of Jehovah, for His mercies aregreat. And do not let me fall into the hand of man.

2Sa 24:15  And Jehovah sent a plague upon Israel from the morning even till the time appointed. And there died from the people, from Dan to Beer-sheba, seventy thousand men.

2Sa 24:16  And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, Jehovah turned from the evil, and said to the angel who destroyed the people, Enough! And stay your hand. And the angel of Jehovah was by the threshing-place of Araunah the Jebusite.

2Sa 24:17  And David spoke to Jehovah when he saw the angel who struck the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? I pray You, let Your hand be against me and against my father’s house.

David Builds an Altar
2Sa 24:18  And Gad came that day to David, and said to him, Go up! Rear an altar to Jehovah in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

2Sa 24:19  And David went up, according to the saying of Gad, as Jehovah commanded.

2Sa 24:20  And Araunah looked and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him. And Araunah went out and bowed before the king, his face to the ground.

2Sa 24:21  And Araunah said, Why has my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshing-floor from you, to build an altar to Jehovah, so that the plague may be stayed from the people.

2Sa 24:22  And Araunah said to David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good to him. Behold, oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments, and instruments of the oxen for wood.

2Sa 24:23  All these Araunah, like a king, gave to the king. And Araunah said to the king, May Jehovah your God accept you.

2Sa 24:24  And the king said to Araunah, No, but I will surely buy from you at a price. And I will not offer burnt offerings to Jehovah my God of that which costs me nothing. And David bought the threshing-floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

2Sa 24:25  And David built there an altar to Jehovah, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And Jehovah was entreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.

Verse 13 is the describing the 4th curse as told to us in Lev 26.

Lev 26:23  And if you will not be reformed by Me by these things, but will still walk contrary to Me,

Lev 26:24  then I will walk contrary to you and will punish you seven times more for your sins.

Lev 26:25  And I will bring a sword on you that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant. And when you are gathered inside your cities, I will send the plague among you. And you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

Lev 26:26  When I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight. And you shall eat and not be satisfied.

David had the cjoice of famine or sword or pestilence, the very same three things that were to happen during the 4th curse of Leviticus. When David sinned it was during hte 4th Sabbatical cycle and this is exactly why Yehovah in HIs mercy gave Him the choice of one of the three.

Again I want you to note how the plague was ended by David. He made an offering to Him. rRead now 1 Chronicles.

David’s Census Brings Pestilence
1Ch 21:1  And Satan stood up against Israel and provoked David to take a census of Israel.

1Ch 21:2  And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go number Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan. And bring the number of them to me so that I may know.

1Ch 21:3  And Joab answered, May Jehovah add to His people a hundred times, but my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? Why then does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

1Ch 21:4  But the king’s word prevailed against Joab. And Joab departed and went up and down all Israel, and came again to Jerusalem.

1Ch 21:5  And Joab gave the sum of the census of the people to David. And in all Israel there were one million and a hundred thousand men who drew sword. And in Judah were four hundred and seventy thousand men who drew sword.

1Ch 21:6  But Levi and Benjamin he did not count among them; for the king’s word was evil to Joab.

1Ch 21:7  And it was evil in the eyes of God as to this thing. And He struck Israel.

1Ch 21:8  And David said to God, I have sinned greatly because I have done this thing. But now, I beseech You, remove the iniquity of Your servant for I have done very foolishly.

1Ch 21:9  And Jehovah spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying,

1Ch 21:10  Go and speak to David, saying, So says Jehovah: I offer you three things. Choose one of them so that I may do it to you.

1Ch 21:11  And Gad came to David and said to him, So says Jehovah, Choose for yourself:

1Ch 21:12  either three years of famine, or three months to be swept away before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtake you, or else three days of the sword of Jehovah, even the plague in the land, and the angel of Jehovah destroying throughout all the border of Israel. And now say what word I shall bring again to Him who sent me.

1Ch 21:13  And David said to Gad, I am in great distress. Let me fall now into the hand of Jehovah, for His mercies arevery great. But do not let me fall into the hand of man.

1Ch 21:14  And Jehovah sent a plague on Israel. And there fell seventy thousand men of Israel.

1Ch 21:15  And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. And as he was destroying, Jehovah looked. And He repented of the evil and said to the angel who destroyed, Enough! Stay your hand now! And the angel of Jehovah stood by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

1Ch 21:16  And David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of Jehovah standing between the earth and the heavens, and his sword drawn in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem. And David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.

1Ch 21:17  And David said to God, Did not I command to number the people? I am the one who has sinned and done evil indeed. But these sheep, what have they done? I pray You, let Your hand be on me, O Jehovah my God, and on my father’s house, but not on Your people, that they should be plagued.

David Builds an Altar
1Ch 21:18  And the angel of Jehovah commanded Gad to say to David that David should go up and set up an altar to Jehovah in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

1Ch 21:19  And David went up at the word of Gad which he spoke in the name of Jehovah.

1Ch 21:20  And Ornan turned back and saw the angel. And his four sons with him hid themselves. And Ornan was threshing wheat.

1Ch 21:21  And David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David. And he went out of the threshing-floor and bowed to David with his face to the ground.

1Ch 21:22  Then David said to Ornan, Give me the place of this threshing-floor, so that I may build an altar in it to Jehovah. You shall give it to me for the full price, so that the plague may be stayed from the people.

1Ch 21:23  And Ornan said to David, Take for yourself, and let my lord the king do what is good in his eyes. Lo, I give the oxen for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the food offering. I give it all.

1Ch 21:24  And King David said to Ornan, No, but I will truly buy it for the full silver. For I will not take what is yours for Jehovah, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.

1Ch 21:25  And David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.

1Ch 21:26  And David built an altar there to Jehovah, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on Jehovah. And He answered him from Heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering.

1Ch 21:27  And Jehovah commanded the angel, and he put up his sword again into its sheath.

1Ch 21:28  At that time, when David saw that Jehovah had answered him in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.

1Ch 21:29  For the tabernacle of Jehovah, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt offering, were at that time in the high place at Gibeon.

1Ch 21:30  But David could not go before it to ask of God, for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of Jehovah.

Comparing What Moses did with King David

The very next thing we read about King David is in 1 Kings when He was old and dying and then Solomon took over. The year was 971 BC. This is in the 4th Sabbatical Cycle.

We also have the story of the rebellion of Korah.

Korah’s Rebellion
Num 16:1  Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, took both Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben;

Num 16:2  even they rose up before Moses with some of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty rulers of the assembly, elect men in the congregation, men who were well-known.

Num 16:3  And they gathered themselves against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, You take too much upon you, since all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and Jehovah is among them. Why then do you lift yourselves up above the congregation of Jehovah?

Num 16:4  And Moses heard and fell on his face.

Num 16:5  And he spoke to Korah and to all his company, saying, Even tomorrow Jehovah will show who are His, and him who is holy, and will cause him to come near to Him; even him whom He has chosen, He will cause to come near to Him.

Num 16:6  Do this. Take fire-pans, Korah and all his company,

Num 16:7  and put fire in them, and put incense in them before Jehovah tomorrow. And it shall be the man whom Jehovah chooses, he shall be holy. You take too much upon you, sons of Levi!

Num 16:8  And Moses said to Korah, Hear now you sons of Levi;

Num 16:9  is it only a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near Himself to do the service of the tabernacle of Jehovah and to stand before the congregation to minister to them?

Num 16:10  And He has brought you near, and all your brothers the sons of Levi with you. And do you seek the priesthood also?

Num 16:11  For this cause you and all your company are gathered against Jehovah. And what is Aaron, that you murmur against him?

Num 16:12  And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab. And they said, We will not come up.

Num 16:13  Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land that flows with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but must you also seize dominion over us?

Num 16:14  Besides, you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance in fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up.

Num 16:15  And Moses was very angry, and said to Jehovah, Do not respect their offering. I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.

Num 16:16  And Moses said to Korah, Stand before Jehovah, you and all your company, you and they, and Aaron, tomorrow.

Num 16:17  And every man take his fire-pan and put incense in them, and let every man bring his fire-pan before Jehovah, two hundred and fifty fire-pans, you also, and Aaron, each with his fire-pan.

Num 16:18  And every man took his fire-pan and put fire in them, and laid incense on it, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron.

Num 16:19  And Korah gathered all the congregation against them, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the congregation.

Num 16:20  And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

Num 16:21  Separate yourselves from among this congregation, so that I may devour them in a moment.

Num 16:22  And they fell upon their faces and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin and will You be angry with all the congregation?

Num 16:23  And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,

Num 16:24  Speak to the congregation saying, Get away from the tent of Korah and Dathan and Abiram.

Num 16:25  And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram. And the elders of Israel followed him.

Num 16:26  And he spoke to the congregation, saying, I pray you, get away from the tents of these wicked men. And touch nothing of theirs lest you be destroyed in all their sins.

Num 16:27  So they got away from the tent of Korah, Dathan and Abiram, on every side. And Dathan and Abiram came out and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their infants.

Num 16:28  And Moses said, By this you shall know that Jehovah has sent me to do all these works, and that not from my own heart.

Num 16:29  If these men die the common death of all men, or if they are visited according to the examination of all men, Jehovah has not sent me.

Num 16:30  But if Jehovah makes a new thing, and the earth opens her mouth and swallows them up with all that they have, and they go down alive into the pit, then you shall understand that these men have provoked Jehovah.

Num 16:31  And it happened, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart.

Num 16:32  And the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who werefor Korah, and all their goods.

Num 16:33  They and all that they had went down alive into Sheol, and the earth closed upon them. And they perished from among the congregation.

Num 16:34  And all Israel around them fled at their cry. For they said, Lest the earth swallow us up.

Num 16:35  And there came out a fire from Jehovah and burned up the two hundred and fifty men who offered incense.

Num 16:36  And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,

Num 16:37  Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the fire-pans out of the burning, and scatter the fire yonder. For they are holy.

Num 16:38  The fire-pans of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them into broad plates, a covering for the altar; for they offered them before Jehovah, therefore they are made holy. And they shall be a sign to the sons of Israel.

Num 16:39  And Eleazar the priest took the bronze fire-pans, the ones with which those who had been burned up had offered, and they were made into broad plates, a covering of the altar,

Num 16:40  a memorial to the sons of Israel, that no stranger not of the seed of Aaron may come near to offer incense before Jehovah, so that he may not be as Korah and as his company, as Jehovah said to him by the hand of Moses.

Num 16:41  But on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron saying, You have killed the people of Jehovah.

Num 16:42  And it happened when the congregation was gathered together against Moses and against Aaron, they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation. And behold! The cloud covered it, and the glory of Jehovah appeared.

Num 16:43  And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.

Num 16:44  And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,

Num 16:45  Get away from this congregation so that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

Num 16:46  And Moses said to Aaron, Take a fire-pan, and put fire in it from the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly to the congregation and make an atonement for them. For wrath has gone out from Jehovah. The plague has begun.

Num 16:47  And Aaron did as Moses commanded and ran into the midst of the congregation. And behold! The plague had begun among the people. And he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.

Num 16:48  And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stayed.

Num 16:49  And those who died in the plague were fourteen thousand, seven hundred, besides the ones who died about the matter of Korah.

Num 16:50  And Aaron returned to Moses to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the plague was stayed.

The reason I am showing you about King David and the rebellion of Korah is simple. In both cases the plague was stayed once they made offerings to Yehovah.

Aaron offered incense verse 46 and then aaron made atonement for them.

David bought the altar place for 600 shekels of god and then made the offerings ready. Notice that it was Yehovah who provided the fire that consumed the offerings.

Incense Offerings

From the Jewish Encyclopedia, i have the following.

Incense

An aromatic substance which exhales perfume during combustion; the odor of spices and gums burned as an act of worship. In ancient times, on account of the extreme heat of the Orient, incense was used, as it is to-day, to a much greater extent in the East than in the West. “Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart,” says Prov. xxvii. 9. Garments were perfumed to such an extent that an old marriage song (Ps. xlv. 9 [A. V. 8]) could say of the royal bridegroom, “All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia.” Beds were perfumed with “myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon” (Prov. vii. 17). The bride in Cant. iii. 6 was perfumed with all sorts of incense; and noble guests were honored by being sprinkled with perfume or incense (Luke vii. 46; comp. Lane, “Manners and Customs of the Modern Egyptians,” iii. 8). It was customary among noble Jews to pass incense (“mugmar”) around on a brazier after meals (comp. Ber. vi. 6).

Sacrifices of Incense.

Under these circumstances the use, with sacrifices, of spices and perfumes that were burned as incense seems a matter of course. It is an open question whether the ancient Hebrews ascribed to this incense any special efficacy in banning demons (comp. Tobit vi. 1-7); but in any case the offering of incense was widely practised in the ancient Oriental religions. That it was a common adjunct of Egyptian worship is evident from the fact that in the representations of worship the king is nearly always pictured with a censer in his hand offering incense. Enormous quantities of spices were used for this purpose every year by the temples. According to one list, King Rameses III. presented during the thirty-one years of his reign 368,461 jars and 1,933,766 pieces of incense, honey, and oil (Erman, “Egypten,” p. 407). Incense is mentioned just as frequently in the Babylonian-Assyrian cult. According to Herodotus (i. 183), at the great yearly feast of Bel 1,000 talents (58,944 kg.) of incense were burned on his great altar.

In Israelitish Cult.

It might be inferred from the foregoing, as a matter of course, that incense was also used in the cult of Israel. The offering of incense is not, however, mentioned till a comparatively late date in the Old Testament. Occupying a prominent position in the sacrificial legislation of the middle Pentateuch, this sacrifice is mentioned seldom, if at all, in the historic and prophetic books. This is all the more remarkable since the Israelites must from early times have been acquainted with the ingredients themselves, the fragrant gums, etc. The caravans that carried the spices of Syria to the Egyptian markets went by way of Palestine (Gen. xxxvii. 25); and the spices of southern Arabia were brought by Solomon to Jerusalem (I Kings x. 10 et seq.). Nevertheless no trace can be found in Hebrew literature of the offering of incense in the time of the early kingdom; nor is it represented as a regular and especially important part of worship, as it became in later times. Although the noun “?e?oret” and the verb “?a?ar” (“ki??er,” “hi??ir”) occur, they do not designate incense burnt on the altar and its offering, as in the sacrificial legislation. “?e?oret” is rather a general term for the burning sacrifice and the sacrificial odor; and in the same way “?a?ar” is used as an entirely general term for the burning of any gift on the altar (comp. Amos iv. 5; Hosea iv. 13, xi. 2).

This can not be accidental; for there is likewise no mention of the offering of incense in those passages where it might be expected. The Prophets refer more than once to the vain endeavors of the people to gain Yhwh’s favor. They enumerate all the things that the people are doing, and all the gifts they offer, including even their own children; but nowhere is there an allusion to the holy sacrifice of incense (comp. Amos iv. 4 et seq., v. 21 et seq.; Isa. i. 11 et seq.; Micah vi. 6 et seq.). Jeremiah is the first to say, in such an enumeration, “To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba and the sweet cane from a far country?” (Jer. vi. 20; comp. ib. xli. 5). It is clearly evident that the offering of incense is here still considered as something rare and precious, because the material of the incense comes from a far country and is valuable. Similarly, Isaiah says (xliii. 23 et seq.), “I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.” From this time onward, however, the offering of incense is mentioned much more frequently, and especially often in Chronicles. In view of these facts it may be assumed that the incense-offering was not frequent in the time of the Earlier Prophets, becoming more popular only in the time of Jeremiah, and that it did not become important as the most holy of offerings until the post-exilic period.

Legal Ordinances.

In the sacrificial legislation of the Pentateuch the incense-offering is mentioned both as a concomitant of other offerings and by itself. As regards the former, every meat-offering (“min??ah”) required the addition of incense, which was burned, under the name of “azkarah,” on the great altar with a certain part of the flour. The sacrifice of the twelve loaves of showbread was also combined with an incense-offering; according to later sources (Josephus, “Ant.” iii. 10, § 7; Men. xi. 5, 7, 8), two golden bowls were placed upon the table of the showbread. When the stale loaves were taken away on the Sabbath, to be replaced by new ones, the old incense was burned in the fire of the great altar of burnt offering (Lev. xxiv. 7-9). The incense-offering was omitted only in two cases—with the sin-offering of the poor (Lev. v. 11-13) and with the meat-offering of the lepers (Lev. xiv. 10, 20).

The independent incense-offering (“tamid”) was brought twice every day, in the morning and in the evening, corresponding to the daily morning and evening sacrifices on the altar of burnt offering. The ordinance regarding the tamid prescribes that when the priest dresses the lamps in the morning he shall burn incense, and also when he lights the lamps at even (“ben ha-‘arbayim”; Ex. xxx. 7-9). This reference was considered obscure even in early times; the Samaritan and Karaitic interpretation, that it refers to the time from sunset to complete darkness, i.e., twilight, is most probably the correct one. An independent incense-offering was prescribed also for the Day of Atonement. On this day the high priest himself was required to burn the incense in the censer in the Holy of Holies (see Censer), not, as usually, on the altar of incense (Lev. xvi. 12).

Importance of the Sacrifice.

The importance ascribed to the incense-offering is evident from the special sanctity characterizing the sacrifice. It is the high prerogative of the priesthood to offer it. Uzziah is severely punished for presuming upon this prerogative (II Chron. xxvi. 16); and the Levites who attempt to bring this offering without being entitled to do so suffer death (Num. xvi. 6 et seq., 17 et seq.). But the two priests entitled to perform the service, Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihn, also perished when they committed an error in offering this most holy sacrifice by putting profane fire into their censers instead of fire from the altar of burnt offering (Lev. x. 1 et seq.). In the Law itself it is denounced as a sin deserving death if any one takes of the holy incensefor profane purposes, or even makes incense according to the special receipt for holy incense; and similarly if any one uses for the offering incense other than that prescribed by law (Ex. xxx. 34-38).

Composition of the Holy Incense.

The receipt for making the holy incense, given in Ex. xxx. 34-38, names four ingredients: (1) “na?af” (A. V. “stacte”), probably storax-gum, the Rabbis taking it to be balsam; (2) “she?elet” (A. V. “onycha”), the fragrant operculum of a species of shell found in the Red Sea, and still used in the East for incense and medicine; (3) “?elbenah” (A. V. “galbanum”), a species of gum, according to ancient authorities the product of narthex, and according to the modern view that of the ferula herb; (4) “lebonah” (A. V. “frankin-cense”), the resin of the olibanum-tree, i.e., one of the various species of Boswellia indigenous to Arabia Felix. The same quantity of each is to be taken and, mixed with salt, made into a confection.

In the later tradition (Ker. vi. a, b; comp. Maimonides, “Yad,” Kele ha-Mi?dash, ii. 1-5; on the Arabic words used by Maimonides see Bacher, “Aus dem Wörterbuche Tanchum Jeruschalmi’s,” p. 122) these four spices were not regarded as sufficient, and seven others were added, namely: myrrh (“mor”), cassia (“?e?i’ah”), the flower of nard (“shibbolet nerd”), saffron (“karkom”), kostus (“?osh?”), cinnamon (“?innamon”), and cinnamon-bark (“kinashah”). Josephus (“B. J.” v. 5, § 5) speaks of thirteen ingredients; this agrees with the fact that in other sources Jordan amber (“kippat ha-Yarden”) and a herb now unknown, which caused the smoke to rise (hence called “ma’aleh ‘ashan”), are mentioned. Salt is omitted in these lists, a very small quantity being added (ÂŒ kab to the incense used for the whole year). But only the salt of Sodom (“mela? Sedomit”) might be used.

Three hundred and sixty-eight minas of incense were prepared once a year, in the Temple, one for each day and three extra for the sacrifice of the Day of Atonement. Some of the ingredients had to be specially prepared, as, for example, the onycha, which was first soaked in Cyprus wine to take away the tartness. Great care was bestowed upon the comminuting of the ingredients, each of which was pounded by itself; and the man who performed that work incited himself by repeating the words, “hade? he?eb” = “make it very fine.” The incense was pounded in the mortar twice a year, and required care otherwise. On damp days it was piled up; on warm, dry days it was spread out for drying. In Herodian times the preparation of the incense was a kind of privilege retained in the family of Abtinas, which was thought to be in possession of special directions for making it. They were particularly credited with knowing how to cause the smoke of the incense-offering to rise in the form of the stem of a date-tree.

When it reached the ceiling it spread out and descended, and covered the whole space. The smoke from incense prepared by other apothecaries spread irregularly as it rose. The family would not divulge the secret of its art, and was consequently driven from office. Apothecaries from Alexandria were sent for who were proficient in incense-making; but they could not secure smoke which rose regularly. The Abtinases were, therefore, recalled, but they demanded double the pay they had previously received (Yoma 38b; Yer. Yoma iii. 9). They gave as a reason for their secrecy that, anticipating the destruction of the Temple, they feared the secret might be used later in idolatrous services (Yer. She?. v. 1). The Rabbis, however, severely criticized the Abtinases for their selfishness. The Mishnah records their name as infamous (Yoma iii., end). R. Johanan b. Nari tells of meeting an old man of the Abtinas family carrying a scroll containing a list of the ingredients used in the composition of the incense; the old man surrendered the scroll to R. Johanan, “since the Abtinases were no longer trustworthy.” When R. Akiba heard of this he shed tears, and said: “From now we must never mention their name with blame” (Yer. She?. v. 1).

The Ritual of the Offering.

Apparently incense was generally offered in a pan (“ma?tah”), which the priest carried in his hand. In such a pan Aaron carried the incense that he offered for the sins of the people (Num. xvii. 11-12 [A. V. xvi. 46-47]). Each of Aaron’s sons had his own pan (Lev. x. 1 et seq.); and the rebellious Levites also sacrificed incense on pans, which were subsequently used to cover the altar of burnt offering of the Tabernacle (Num. xvii. 4 [A. V. xvi. 39]). It would thus appear that every priest had his censer (comp. Egyptian illustrations). In the Jewish statutory sacrificial ritual, on the introduction of a special incense altar this custom was set aside, surviving only in the ritual of the Day of Atonement. On that day the priest entered the Holy of Holies, carrying in his right hand the pan for the incense, filled with live coals, and in his left hand a spoonlike vessel, called “kaf,” containing the incense. After placing both of these utensils on the floor, the high priest took the incense from the kaf with the hollow of his hand, not with his fingers, and heaped it upon the pan containing the coals. It was considered especially difficult to take the incense up thus without spilling any (Lev. xvi. 12; comp. Yoma i. 5, 47b).

In later times a special altar for the incense-offering was introduced, and this, more than anything else, shows the great importance that was ascribed to the offering. The assumption that the incense-altar mentioned in the Law is of later origin is supported by the passages quoted above, where it is expressly said that the holy sacrifice of incense was not burned on a special altar, but in the censers of the priests. It must, moreover, be noted that this altar is not mentioned in the account of the building and arrangement of the Tabernacle, being referred to only in Ex. xxx. 1 et seq. Reference to it was similarly added later in the account of the building of the Temple. Otherwise these points of criticism need not be discussed here. According to the description in I Kings vi. 20-22, vii. 48, the altar in the Temple consisted of a table of cedar-wood overlaid with gold. It stood in the sanctuary, near the entrance to the Holy of Holies. The fact that in theEpistle to the Hebrews (Heb. ix. 4) this altar was included in the Holy of Holies shows how sacred it was considered to be.

In the course of time the ritual became increasingly complicated. According to the Talmud (Tamid iii. 6, vi. 1-3), the ceremony was as follows: After completing the preparations for the morning’s burnt offering, such as the cleaning of the altar, etc., two priests removed the ashes from the altar of burnt offering and the lamps; then the sacrificial animals were killed; lots were drawn to decide which priest should offer the incense; and then followed the preparations for the sacrifice. A priest took live coals from the altar of burnt offering in a silver brazier (“ma?tah”) and placed them on the incensealtar. The officiating priest then entered the sanctuary, carrying the incense in a jar (“bazak”), which he held over a shallow spoon-shaped utensil (kaf) to prevent any grains from dropping on the floor from the heaped jar; and when the command “burn the incense” issued from the chamber of the priests he spread upon the coals the incense in the jar. An assisting priest held the spoon; he was also to pour into the hollow hand of the officiant any grains that might drop into the spoon. Both priests then left the sanctuary. It is expressly stated that none of the other priests was to be present, and that no other person might be in the sanctuary. After the incense had been consumed the pieces of the tamid were placed on the altar of burnt offering.

Significance of the Incense-Offering.

The importance of the incense-offering is evident from what has been said above regarding its origin. Whatever was pleasing to men was offered to the Deity also; and as men were honored with incense, to the Deity was paid similar honor. This explanation is entirely sufficient. It was natural that the rising smoke should be regarded as the symbol or vehicle of prayer (thus, perhaps, may be interpreted Ps. cxli. 2; comp. Rev. v. 8). But all other symbolical interpretations are far-fetched and not supported by the ancient sources, as, for example, the opinion of Josephus (“B. J.” v. 5, § 5) that the thirteen ingredients, which come from the sea, the desert, and the fertile country, are meant to signify that all things are God’s and are intended for His service; or the view of Philo, that the four ingredients mentioned in the Law symbolize the four elements, water, earth, fire, and air, which combined represent the universe.

Maimonides regards the incense-offering as designed originally to counteract the odors arising from the slaughtered animals and to animate the spirit of the priests (“Moreh,” iii., ch. 45, p. 69, ed. Schlosberg, London, 1851). The incense was also considered as an antidote against the plague. The reciting of the incense chapter ( ) after Psalm cxlv. prevents death from entering the house (comp. Num. xvii. 12, Hebr.; Zohar, s.v. “Pine?as,” p. 224a). This passage of the Talmud is now incorporated in some prayer-books.

Peace Offerings

The Peace Offering

by John W. Ritenbaugh
Forerunner, “Personal,” June 2003

Of all the offerings, the sin and trespass offerings are the best known and understood because of their clear association with Christ’s crucifixion for the sins of the world. At the other end of the spectrum, the peace offering is the least understood because its symbolism, while easy to grasp, is perhaps the most difficult to experience in actual practice. It is introduced in Leviticus 3:1-5:

When his offering is a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offers it of the herd, whether male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the Lord. And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of meeting; and Aaron’s sons, the priests shall sprinkle the blood all around on the altar. Then he shall offer from the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire to the Lord. The fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove; and Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is on the wood that is on the fire, as an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.

Biblical commentators have given this offering a variety of titles. “Peace,” “fellowship,” “praise,” and “thanksgiving” are the most common. However, the Keil-Delitzsch Commentary states that the most correct is “saving offering” (vol. 1, p. 298). Each title shows a somewhat different aspect of the teaching contained in it. Verse 5 informs us that this too is a sweet-savor offering, indicating that no sin is involved in it, and thus it is most satisfying to God. The word “satisfying” is important to understanding this offering.

Verse 5 also shows us an aspect of the ritual that teaches us about this offering’s purpose. It is burnt upon, that is, on top of, the burnt sacrifice, which in turn had the meal offering on top of it. They were not necessarily layered like a sandwich and then all burned at the same time. However, the daily burnt offering was always made first, and it was followed by the meal offering and the peace offering on the same fire (Keil-Delitzsch, vol. 1, p. 300).

The peace offering, then, had to be offered after the other two were already burning. How long after is lost to history, but it could not have been a long time if the same fire was used.

Peaceful Communion

Leviticus 7:11-18, 29-32 provides more information regarding the specific distribution of the various parts of this animal sacrifice:

This is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings which he shall offer to the Lord: If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer, with the sacrifice of thanksgiving, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, unleavened wafers anointed with oil, or cakes of finely blended flour mixed with oil. Besides the cakes, as his offering he shall offer leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offering. And from it he shall offer one cake from each offering as a heave offering to the Lord. It shall belong to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering. The flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offering for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day it is offered. He shall not leave any of it until morning. But if the sacrifice of this offering is a vow or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offers his sacrifice; but on the next day the remainder of it also may be eaten; the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day must be burned with fire. And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offering is eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, nor shall it be imputed to him; whoever offers it shall be an abomination, and the person who eats of it shall bear guilt.

. . . He who offers the sacrifice of his peace offering to the Lord shall bring his offering to the Lord from the sacrifice of his peace offering. His own hands shall bring the offerings made by fire to the Lord. The fat with the breast he shall bring, that the breast may be waved as a wave offering before the Lord. And the priest shall burn the fat on the altar, but the breast shall be Aaron’s and his sons’. Also the right thigh you shall give to the priest as a heave offering from the sacrifices of your peace offerings.

We need to understand the order followed here: The offerer brought his offering to the altar, laid his hand on it, and slew it. The priest sprinkled the blood upon the altar and around it. The animal was then cut up, and God’s portion—almost entirely fat, besides the two kidneys—was placed on top of the already burning burnt and meal offerings.

Then the priest received the breast and right shoulder for himself and his children, and the offerer received the remainder of the animal to eat. However, it had to be eaten within one day if it was a thank offering or within two days if it was a vow or voluntary offering. If any remained on the third day, it had to be burned. In this process, the major teaching of the peace offering is revealed.

Recall that the burning on the altar of the sweet-savor offerings pictures God consuming a meal and being satisfied. Likewise, the priest receiving his portion shows him being satisfied, and the offerer with his portion is also satisfied. “Filled,” “gratified,” “contented,” “accepted,” “convinced,” “supplied,” “persuaded,” “pleased,” and “assured” all capture the intent of the symbolism.

In addition, since all parties—God, priest, and man—share the same meal and satisfaction, it shows all in peaceful communion or fellowship. Because it was placed in sequence on top of the other two offerings, the peace offering is directly connected to them, and thus it depicts the effect of perfect devotion to God and man: peaceful satisfaction and fellowship, the fruit of devotedly keeping the two great commandments of the law.

In this sacrifice Christ symbolically plays all three parts: He is the offering, sacrificing His life in service; He is the priest, serving mankind at the altar as Mediator; and He is the offerer, bringing His sacrifice to the altar. The altar, the place of meeting for all three, represents sacrificial services and devotion to God that give Him satisfaction and result in our acceptance.

The peace offering shows man, as Christ, accepted, fed, strengthened, and satisfied by sacrifice, teaching that sacrifice is indeed the essence, the heart and core, the essential element, of love whether to God or man. More specifically, it shows us that sacrifice plays a major role in acceptance before God, spiritual feeding and therefore spiritual strength, and spiritual satisfaction. Devoted people sacrifice for those they love. Thus, sacrifice indicates devotion to God (burnt offering) and devotion in service to man (meal offering).

I have one point to share with you. Now that you know the 3rd Curse is pestilence some of you are saying, “Ya but we are now in the 4th Sabbatical Cycle”, and you are right. Now go and read the 4th curse.

Here is the 3rd curse which goes with the 3rd Sabbatical Cycle.

Lev 26:21  And if you walk contrary to Me, and will not listen to Me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.

Lev 26:22  I will also send wild beasts among you, who shall bereave you. And I will destroy your cattle, and make you few. And your highways shall be deserted.

We can see this now and we saw it with the swine flu back in 2009. But this time this one is different. Understand we are now approaching the middle of the 70th Jubilee Cycle spoken of in Daniel 9. We have explained this in our book The 2300 Days of Hell. And we are in the 120th Jubilee cycle at the same time which is the last one before the 7th Millennium. We have shown you how the Messiah was killed on the 4th day of the week and we have also shown you how the Temple was both built and destroyed in the 4th Millennium. And we are now in the 4th Sabbatical Cycle of this Jubilee Cycle.

With that preamble, now read the 4th curse of Lev 26.

This is the curse of war. And we have repeatedly told you that the Daniel 8 War between the King of the North and the King of the South was to take place in the middle of this 4th Sabbatical Cycle. The USA almost went to war with Iran, but it is prophesied that the EU would war with Iran and defeat her. This same prophecy in Daniel 8 also tells us it is the start of the 2300 Days of persecution upon the Saints.

And when you are gathered inside your cities, I will send the plague among you. And you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

It is also during htis 4th Sabbatical Cycle that a plague is going to come and take away many. We will then fall into the hands of our enemies. We will be defeated. This curse goes with the curse of war in this 4th Sabbatical cycle.

Lev 26:26  When I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight. And you shall eat and not be satisfied.

Now you have it. All three, in this 4th Sabbatical Cycle. War, plagues and famine. And this will carry over into the 5th and final curse. But I want you to understand what you are told in Isaiah.

Isa 17:4  And it shall be in that day, the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall become lean.

From Mathew Henry we have the following commentary.

Isa 17:4. The glory of Jacob was their numbers, that they were as the sand of the sea for multitude; but this glory shall be made thin, when many are cut off, and few left. Then the fatness of their flesh, which was their pride and security, shall was lean, and the body of the people shall become a perfect skeleton, nothing but skin and bones. Israel died of a lingering disease; the kingdom of the ten tribes wasted gradually; God was to them as a moth, Hos 5:12.

John Gill has this to say on Isaiah 17:1

Isaiah 17:4
And in that day it shall come to pass,
. It being much about the same time that both kingdoms were destroyed by the Assyrians:

that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin; the same with Ephraim and Israel, the ten tribes, whose glory lay in the superior number of their tribes to Judah; in the multitude of their cities, and the inhabitants of them; but now would be thinned, by the vast numbers that should be carried captive:

and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean: like a man in a consumption, that is become a mere skeleton, and reduced to skin and bones: the meaning is, that all their wealth and riches should be taken away; so the Targum,

“and the riches of his glory shall be carried away.”
