The Darkness of Abraham’s Sleep

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom Brethren,

I have received a note from Dina and Avi who are now in New Zealand, “to let people know that the slots for our tour are fast filling up, and that anyone who wants to be added to the tour needs to sign up now.”

If you’re thinking that you would like to see the land of Israel then this is the tour to do it on. Avi Ben Mordechai, Stephen Spykerman and myself will be co hosting this tour with so many teachings your head will be spinning. You may even need a vacation just to digest it all. Please go to this URL below and read the itinerary and then sign up.

As many of you are aware Colorado has been struck by devastating wild fires this year. I asked a brother I met in Israel whom I have come to admire to update us on what was happening there with the brethren. And as you all know Yehovah does not hear the prayers of those who do not keep His torah. So a greater responsibility falls upon those of you who do keep the commandments to pray as Yehovah will hear you.

Here is my Friend Beaus report.

Shalom Brother,

Thank you for your concern for the brothers you know and don’t know in the area. While the Brothers that you know are on the east side of the highway, and at a minimum 5 miles from the affected area, others within our fellowship and much larger community are not as safe. Praise YHVH for keeping His people safe and out of harm’s way, at least those that I know of, as the fires burn.

As of right now, 360+ structures have been damaged or destroyed (primarily destroyed) and more than 30,000 have been displaced by the fire and evacuations required. Ongoing updates can be obtained at the following site: http://www.inciweb.org/incident/2929/ and a great time-lapse video of the first few days can be seen here that truly shows a good view of the fire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBA7eHY022k

From those of us on the ground, it is both a blessing to see how a community can come together to help those in need, but there is also a secondary picture that all of these resources were available – but not accessible to those prior to the crisis. This tells me, the general population is still not in touch with what is going on around them completely, but the community is still blessed by those who are willing to share available resources. I currently work for the consulting side of a large Fortune 100 company and we have a number of consultants in the area that are affected by this fire and several of them have been pulled back from their assigned sites so they could deal with the issues facing them at home – like mandatory/voluntary evacuations and asthmatic family members who are affected by the amount of smoke in the air; so the company has actually taken a revenue loss in pulling its employees off of paying projects, but has shown some care about its people and their families.

As for what I know of the Torah keeping community, a number of them have been burdened by a significant amount of smoke, but, to my knowledge, none have been displaced or directly affected by the fire. For the greater community, I personally know a several families that have lost their homes and everything in them. The greater community is looking for ways to support the affected families and the almost 1,300 personnel fighting the fires. At this point, prayer is the greatest weapon as these fires continue to burn and are only ¼ contained. We have had winds as high as 65 mph pushing these fires in all directions but over the last few days have had a much-needed light rain shower in the afternoon. These rains have allowed for the containment to go from 5% to over 25% all by the hand of the Creator, YHVH.
Please continue to pray for all those affected and that the Creator, YHVH, will be glorified in all things.

If some of you are still on the fence about buying The Prophecies of Abraham may I suggest you go to Amazon and read the reviews that are there. Some good and others not so good. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/The-Prophecies-Abraham-Declaring-beginning/product-reviews/1449047521/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

I urge you all to buy the book because there are so many things happening in the world right now that I am not able to always keep up with them on this News Letter for you.

India was in floods as well as China last week. India was also in a drought and heat wave.
This week as many of you know the USA was in a severe heat wave. And then just for fun as many as 2 Million people lost their power due to the severe storm that passed through. And a week later many of them still do not have power because of so many trees that are down on the roads and line. This also caused many of them to loose the food in the fridge and freezers and the stores too were closed. So food was being trucked in for these folks.

And as I write thousands of records are being broken this week as temperatures soar.
This is just one of the things we have for so many years now been warning people about. It is not global warming. It is not mother nature having a bad hair day. Not at all. This is Yehovah the Creator of all things in the entire Universe sending you a message to repent and return to His Torah and to do it now and not to postpone it any longer, as the next curses will be even worse.

You can read of these curses in the order He is sending them in Lev 26 for not keeping the Sabbath and Holy Days of Lev 23 and not keeping the Sabbatical years. Read them yourself and know. Stop being ignorant of what is going on around you.

Lev 26:18 ‘And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I shall punish you seven times more for your sins. 19 ‘And I shall break the pride of your power, and shall make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze. 20 ‘And your strength shall be spent in vain and your land not yield its crops, nor the trees of the land yield their fruit.

This Febuary we had temperatures in the 80 degrees F. Most of the buds began to grow on the Fruit trees. Then the winter came back for a few weeks and froze them off. Now we have no apples on our trees. Sure does look a lot like Lev 26 is coming true.

Get The Prophecies of Abraham and learn.

We almost finished the next book which will explain in detail all the questions about the Schmettah Year or the Sabbatical year and this will help you to be able to prove it. So stay tuned for the announcement coming soon.

Abraham darkest moments

When Abraham made the covenant with Yehovah we read of a strange incident just before Yehovah made the deal final.
Gen 15:10 And he took all these to Him and cut them in the middle, and placed each half opposite the other, but he did not cut the birds. 11 And the birds of prey came down on the carcasses, and Ab?ram drove them away. 12 And it came to be, when the sun was going down, and a deep sleep fell upon Ab?ram, that see, a frightening great darkness fell upon him. 13 And He said to Ab?ram, “Know for certain that your seed are to be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them, and they shall afflict them four hundred years. 14 “But the nation whom they serve I am going to judge, and afterward let them come out with great possessions.

After this then Yehovah confirmed the deal;

Gen 15:15 “Now as for you, you are to go to your fathers in peace, you are to be buried at a good old age. 16 “Then, in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the crookedness of the Amorites is not yet complete.” 17 And it came to be, when the sun went down and it was dark, that see, a smoking oven and a burning torch passing between those pieces. 18 On the same day ???? made a covenant with Ab?ram, saying, “I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Mitsrayim to the great river, the River Euphrates, 19 with the Q?ynite, and the Qenizzite, and the Qad?monite, 20 and the H?ittite, and the Perizzite, and the Repha’im, 21 and the Amorite, and the Kena?anite, and the Girgashite, and the Yeb?usite.”

Let’s deal with the second part first.

Yehovah said 16 “Then, in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the crookedness of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

The word Generation here has another meaning.

H1755 ??? ???? do?r do?r dore, dore
From H1752; properly a revolution of time, that is, an age or generation; also a dwelling: – age, X evermore, generation, [n-]ever, posterity.

A revolution of time then could also be a millennial day instead of a generation.

In The Prophecies of Abraham when you look at the charts at the back of the book you can see one chart with all the Jubilee years on it since Adam up to the end of the 7th Millennium. It is actually the last two pages of the book.

The Covenant was made with Abraham in the year 1809 BC or 2028 After the Creation of Adam. (AC) This is the 3rd millennial day since the creation of Adam.

Looking at the chart titled The 49 Year Millennial Week Gregorian Years
You will see that the year 1809 BC is in the very first Jubilee cycle of the third millennial day.
(-1828 A.C.)

In the chart titled The 49 Year Millennial Week the 3rd millennial day begins with the year 2009 AC. The Covenant was made in 2028 AC which is in this first Jubilee cycle of this 3rd millennial day.
Now count this third millennial day as day one which is what this prophecy in Gen 15:16 is talking about. Each of the 4 revolutions of time begins with this 3rd Millennium being the first revolution or the first millennial day.
It goes from 2009 AC up to 2940 AC.

The Second Millennial day is then from 2989 AC up to 3920 AC.
The Third Millennial day is then from 3969 AC up to 4900 AC.
The Fourth Millennial day that Yehovah was talking about with Abraham in verse 16 is then from the year 4849 AC up to 5880 AC.
I will now repeat this information using the Gregorian years.
In the chart titled The 49 Year Millennial Week Gregorian Years the 3rd millennial day begins with the year 1828 BC. The Covenant was made in 1809 BC which is in this first Jubilee cycle of this 3rd millennial day.
Now count this third millennial day as day one. It goes from 1828 BC up to 897 BC.
The Second Millennial day is then from 848 BC up to 84 CE. (Common Era)
The Third Millennial day is then from 133 CE up to 1064 CE.
The Fourth Millennial day that Yehovah was talking about with Abraham in verse 16 is then from the year 1113 CE up to 2044 CE.
And you should now realize that we are in the year 2012. This leaves 32 years until this millennial day is over and the 7th millennial day begins. But do not assume that you have 32 years. All of the prophecies must take place over this time that is left and it truly is as those who have read and understood The Prophecies of Abraham can attest to, a very short time.
After this Yehovah says;
17 And it came to be, when the sun went down and it was dark, that see, a smoking oven and a burning torch passing between those pieces. 18 On the same day ???? made a covenant with Ab?ram, saying, “I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Mitsrayim to the great river, the River Euphrates,

This covenant was made just as the sun set and the new day began. Symbolic in my opinion of the covenant Yehovah will renew in our hearts just before the 7th Millennium begins.
Let us now jump back to the verse I want to address.

Again it was just as the sun was setting, signifying the end of this fourth day. In other words this is prophecy that is about to take place at the end of this fourth Millennial day. Four Millennial days after the covenant was made with Abraham.
Abraham’s life was a prophetic prophecy to us in these last days of this age.
Let us now look deeper at this verse.

This deep sleep of Abraham is;
H8639 ??????? tarde?ma?h tar-day-maw’
From H7290; a lethargy or (by implication) trance: – deep sleep.
When we look at the H7290 we get an even deeper meaning.
H7290 ??? ra?dam raw-dam’

A primitive root; to stun, that is, stupefy (with sleep or death): – (be fast a-, be in a deep, cast into a dead, that) sleep (-er, -eth).
Abraham was going into such a deep sleep it was almost as if he was dead. So deep was this sleep you could not awake him; again as if he was dead.

The next word I would have you look at is the word afflict.
H6031 ??? ?a?na?h aw-naw’

A primitive root (possibly rather identical with H6030 through the idea of looking down or browbeating); to depress literally or figuratively, transitively or intransitively (in various applications). (sing is by mistake for H6030.): – abase self, afflict (-ion, self), answer [by mistake for H6030], chasten self, deal hardly with, defile, exercise, force, gentleness, humble (self), hurt, ravish, sing [by mistake for H6030], speak [by mistake for H6030], submit self, weaken, X in any wise.

I want you to focus on these meanings of this word;
abase self, afflict; chasten self, deal hardly with, defile, exercise, force, gentleness, humble (self), hurt, ravish,.
In Abraham’s loins at this time was Isaac and Jacob and the 12 sons and all the nations of Israel that were about to come out during these 4 millennial days, up until this very point in time in 2012 CE.

And yet at the very moment when Abraham was making the deal of a life time with the very Creator of the entire Universe, he falls into this death like sleep and is terrified.

Let us just look at this word before I continue. ‘ frightening ‘
H367 ??? ???? ‘e?yma?h ‘e?ma?h ay-maw’, ay-maw’
From the same as H366; fright; concretely an idol (as a bugbear): – dread. fear, horror, idol, terrible, terror.
H366 ??? ‘a?yo?m aw-yome’
From an unused root (meaning to frighten); frightful: – terrible.
Darkness
H2825 ?????? ????? cha?she?ka?h cha?she?yka?h khash-ay-kaw’, khash-ay-kaw’
From H2821; darkness; figuratively misery: – darkness.
H2821 ???? cha?shak khaw-shak’

A primitive root; to be dark (as withholding light); transitively to darken: – be black, be (make) dark, darken, cause darkness, be dim, hide.
You are being shown an awesome insight here. Do you see it?

Joh 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Joh 8:12 Therefore ????? spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but possess the light of life.”
Joh 11:9 ????? answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. 10 “But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”

Before the end of this current age; before the 7th millennium when the light of the world comes to rule over us, we will and are about to go into a great and terrifying darkness. This darkness is the ruler ship of Satan at the end of his 6th day; 6th millennial day; when his kingdom is about to be removed from him.

Let me now share some astronomy with you.
Each of the constellations represents one of the 12 tribes of Israel.
When you read them and know the names of the Stars in each constellation a story is told.

King David wrote of this story in the heavens.

Psa 19:1 The heavens are proclaiming the esteem of El; And the expanse is declaring the work of His hand.
Psa 19:2 Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge.
Psa 19:3 There is no speech, and there are no words, Their voice is not heard.
Psa 19:4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He set up a tent for the sun,
Psa 19:5 And it is like a bridegroom coming out of his room, It rejoices like a strong man to run the path.
Psa 19:6 Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end; And naught is hidden from its heat.

When you understand that the two fish of Pisces represent Israel to the north and Judah to the south and that they are both caught by the band and attached to the great monster and serpent of the sea, Cetus, which is Satan and his governments, you can also see that the Ram which is the Passover Lamb is the one to rescue them both as it reaches out to grab hold of the two bands that bind all the tribes of Israel to the beast. In Another constellation nearby is Perseus as a man and not a lamb and He comes to the rescue and cuts of the head of this beast (which is called Medusa) just as it was about to slaughter Israel who in this constellation is represented by Andromeda who sold all she had to give to the beast thinking it was her true love when in truth her love should have been given to Yehovah all the time and not this beast.

The fish to the north is Israel and it too is represented by Andromeda who is about to be killed. Judah the fish to the south may not be in as bad a shape as Israel, as it is not in the constellation of Andromeda.
Judah has had her holocaust but now it is the ten Northern tribes turn to suffer as Judah did in WW II.

There is so much more to explain so that you would understand all of this. But that is it in a nutshell. Sorry I do not have time to explain it all in detail.

We also add to these two understandings, that is the one coming from the Prophecy of Abraham and the other coming from our understanding of the constellations; the following parable.

Mat 22:1 And ????? responded and spoke to them again by parables and said, 2 “The reign of the heavens is like a man, a sovereign, who made a wedding feast for his son, 3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast. But they would not come. 4 “Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Say to those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened cattle are slaughtered, and all is ready. Come to the wedding feast.” ’ 5 “But they disregarded it and went their way – this one to his field, that one to his trade. 6 “And the rest, having seized his servants, insulted and killed them. 7 “But when the sovereign heard, he was wroth, and sent out his soldiers, destroyed those murderers, and set their city on fire.

When we combine all of the above understandings we arrive at the following conclusions.

Yehovah sends out people to invite them to the wedding but those who hear this invitation did not take it up. In fact they beat and killed those who came to invite them.

The children of Israel are so corrupted and so misled that they think the beast system is the one they are to worship and adore. Israel in this case is the USA and the UK countries. They are tied by treaties and laws to the beast and cannot get away from it.
This beast of Europe and the UN hate this woman that is in love with them and have her chained to the rock on the edge of the ocean. They have planned to kill Israel and have beaten and raped her and abused her. She has nothing left and is near the point of death. Abrahams deep sleep.

Just in the nick of time Yehshua will come to the rescue and cut off the head of this beast, Satan and destroy this government from off the earth.
To understand just how badly Israel, the USA and UK countries are to be destroyed all we have to do is examine the teachings of Daniels 70 weeks which most have gotten wrong. We have shown this to you a number of times in these News Letters and in the teachings we have been sharing with you on video.

Dan 9:26 “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off and have naught

Be Cut off
H3772 ???? ka?rath kaw-rath‘

A primitive root; to cut (off, down or asunder); by implication to destroy or consume; specifically to covenant (that is, make an alliance or bargain, originally by cutting flesh and passing between the pieces): – be chewed, be con- [feder-] ate, covenant, cut (down, off), destroy, fail, feller, be freed, hew (down), make a league ([covenant]), X lose, perish, X utterly, X want.

Israel, all 12 tribes which include the State of Israel and the USA and UK and her commonwealth will be cut off, cut down, destroyed and consumed. And this same phrase refers us right back to the very covenant we made through Abraham when He cut the animal pieces and laid them out. That was when Yehovah went between them and made the covenant with Abraham. A blood covenant.
When you break a blood covenant you pay for breaking it with your very life. What you are in fact saying is this, “May I pay with my life if this covenant is broken,”

Only those who do repent are then covered by the blood of Yehshua. Those who do not repent will have to pay that blood covenant penalty.
We read in Daniel the following prophecy;

Dan 9:26 “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off and have naught. And the people of a coming prince shall destroy the city and the set-apart place. And the end of it is with a flood. And wastes are decreed, and fighting until the end.
But here is the meaning. Read it and shudder.

H369 ??? ‘ayin ay’-yin

As if from a primitive root meaning to be nothing or not exist; a non-entity; generally used as a negative particle: – else, except, fail [father-] less, be gone, in [-curable], neither, never, no (where), none, nor (any, thing), not, nothing, to nought, past, un [-searchable], well-nigh, without, Compare H370.

Israel (The USA and UK countries) is going to be cut off, cut down, destroyed and consumed and they will be as if they did not exist. They will be no more; they will be gone and not exist.

What you’re reading is that the State of Israel, Along with the USA and the UK will be utterly destroyed so they will not exist. They will be gone!!!!
Back in the Parable in Mathew 22 we read Mat 22:7 “But when the sovereign heard, he was wroth, and sent out his soldiers, destroyed those murderers, and set their city on fire.

We are about to enter the 4th Sabbatical cycle of War. It is at this time that Yehovah sends His army; that is the Assyrians, who today are called the German nation and it is by them that he is going to utterly destroy Israel.

Now go back to the Prophecy of Abraham when he made the covenant. It was in the 5th year of the 3rd Sabbatical cycle. We are in the 3rd year of this Sabbatical cycle and that year is 2012. What we are being shown here is that in the 5th year you can expect persecution to begin and to increase until it results in the death of those who are inviting these Israelites to come to the wedding.

That year that this begins is 2014 at Passover. And this year of 2014 also will have the blood moons visible on the High Holy days of 2014 at both Passover and the Feast of Sukkot in both the year of 2014 and the year of 2015.

Having now explained all of this I want you to now look at the two videos that came to me last week.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysBJ5G4m67s

In five to seven years from when this video was made in 2008 is 2015; this video warns that in 5-7 years from then Islam will be the dominate religion of the world. The Prophecies of Abraham warn us that in 2014 persecution will be begin. Are you ready?

After I was sent that video I then received the following. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vnJBW49afzg
It is in Dearborn Michigan; After President Obama is elected President, again 2008 or maybe in 2009. Not sure. I do not support the Jesus group going to the Muslim day events and blow horning the crowd. But look at what happens and at what the police do. Listen to the teens that do all the yelling and swearing and throwing of objects while the parents stand nearby.

It is hard to fight against a kid. This same mentality is used in Israel. The youth insight the violence while the parents stand nearby encouraging them.

But this is Detroit Michigan. Just across the border from me. It is not in a far off country. It is right here in our own land in our own back yards.
Having read the things I have presented, the darkness of Abrahams dream and the warning of the invitation to the wedding and of the constellations, and the actual meaning of the words in Daniel 9; now seeing this in Michigan, can it be so hard to imagine the persecution that is going to grip the USA and UK countries. Is it really that far away or is it truly possible that in 2014 we will begin to see the truth of this and then watch it escalate.

Triennial Torah Cycle

We continue this weekend with our regular Triennial Torah Reading

Num 9      Job 22-25       Hebrews 10

Observing the Passover (Numbers 9)

In Exodus 12 we received the original instructions for the Passover. Now, however, because some men had become defiled by coming into contact with dead bodies, thus becoming ceremonially unclean, they would have to miss the Passover. They appealed to Moses because they really didn’t want to miss out entirely on this divinely commanded feast (Leviticus 23:5).

God reveals Himself in encounters like this one. He isn’t the harsh, heavy-handed, unreasonable God some would make Him out to be. This event gives us a glimpse at how compassionate and understanding He actually is in making it possible for us to follow Him. He is giving and serving, not willing that any should perish, but that all mankind should ultimately be in His Kingdom. Thus, He establishes the second Passover for those who, for reasons beyond their control, miss the first Passover.

It isn’t usually published on sacred calendars, so how can you tell when to keep the second Passover? There is an easy rule of thumb to use so as not to get confused. Just add four weeks and two days to the first Passover. For example, if the first Passover was on a Tuesday night the second Passover will be on a Thursday night.

Of course, we must never purposely skip the first Passover. God the Father literally gave up His Son Jesus Christ so that Christ could come to earth and die to take away our sin. Passover pictures this aspect of God’s incredible plan of salvation. By God’s good graces some have been called to be a part of that plan at this time. Moses explained that those who disregarded the Passover would be cut off and bear their sin. It is the same for us today. To skip, or treat the Passover lightly, is to say to our Savior, “Thanks, but no thanks.” We would remain in our sin (verse 13). Let us never drift down such a dangerous spiritual path. (To better understand the significance of the Passover, see “The Passover: Why Did Jesus Christ Have to Die?,” God’s Holy Day Plan: The Promise of Hope for All Mankind, pp. 10-19.)

“Is Not Your Wickedness Great, and Your Iniquity Without End?” (Job 22)

Eliphaz now responds for the third and last time, giving a renewed rebuke and a call to repentance. He opens by asking of what benefit or pleasure it is to God whether Job is innocent (verses 1-3). The question itself seems absurd. It is true that God does not need righteous servants, but He does desire them. From other passages, we know that God delights in the righteous and that He experiences joy when people repent. Eliphaz’s questions seem to imply that God doesn’t really care one way or the other—and that Job is an arrogant fool for thinking otherwise.

Yet Eliphaz sees this as really a moot point—since he believes Job is not innocent. In verse 4, Eliphaz mocks Job: “Is it because of your fear of Him that He corrects you…?” Eliphaz sees no evidence of a right fear of God on Job’s part. Instead, to him, all the evidence points to sinfulness.

In fact, as Eliphaz sees it, since Job’s suffering is great, his sin must be great too (see verse 5). Eliphaz then launches into a list of specific charges of particular sins. Where in the world did he come up with these? Probably from reasoning backwards. First of all, Job’s ongoing insistence regarding his own righteousness before God probably made it look like he was actually convinced of his faithfulness to God, which to Eliphaz means Job must have made a pretense of religion while neglecting important areas. The Expositor’s Bible Commentary suggests: “Eliphaz felt Job had deceived himself by trusting in his ritual piety (what he had done for God) while his real sin was what he failed to do for his fellow man” (note on verses 4-11). And since Job’s sufferings were the worst ever seen, his sins must have been particularly severe—social oppression and neglect being perceived as very serious in a society that viewed hospitality as one of the chief human responsibilities. It appears that Eliphaz fabricated these particular charges to fit the facts as he saw them.

There was one big problem though—these were not facts at all. They were baseless, made-up lies. Job was not like this at all, as we know from the testimony of God himself at the beginning of the book.

Moreover, Eliphaz accuses Job of thinking that God is so far off as to not be able to see what Job is doing (verses 12-14). Yet while it is true that Job has lamented God’s apparent indifference to the wicked, he has also directly complained of God’s overbearing watchfulness over him to pursue him with calamity. Job certainly did not think he could hide anything from God.

Notice verses 17-18. Eliphaz denounces hypocritical wicked people for rejecting God even though God has “filled their houses with good things.” Did you catch that? Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar have been contending that God only curses the wicked—but here we see Eliphaz saying that God has blessed them with their possessions. Which is it? Eliphaz could not see the contradiction in his own beliefs.

In verses 21-30, Eliphaz gives a wonderful call to repentance—for a person “to submit; to be at peace with God (v. 21); to hear God’s word and hide it in his heart (v. 22); to return to the Almighty and forsake wickedness (v. 23); to find delight in God rather than in gold (vv. 24-26); and to pray, obey (v. 27), and become concerned about sinners (vv. 29-30)” (Expositor’s, note on verses 21-30). The big problem with this statement is that Eliphaz is making it to the wrong person. Job is innocent of the charges leveled against him. He is in no way the uncaring, wealth-obsessed miser Eliphaz has painted him as. Indeed, this man whom God called upright was just the opposite. Job will in fact repent at the end of the story, but not for any of the false accusations of Job’s friends.

In its note on verse 30, The Nelson Study Bible states: “Eliphaz’s prediction that God would deliver one who is not innocent through the purity of Job’s hands would be fulfilled ironically through Job’s prayer for the three friends [at the end of the book] (42:8-10).”

“I Would Present My Case Before Him” (Job 23-24)

Job does not answer Eliphaz’s outrageous charges. Instead, he groans and wishes he could go to God and present his case before Him. In verse 5, the phrase “I would know the words which He would answer me” means “I would like to know His answer.”
In contrast to Eliphaz’s apparent contention that God did not really care whether Job was innocent (see 22:1-3), Job is convinced that God did care and that if he could reason with God, then he would at last be delivered.

While Job cannot travel about to find God, he realizes that God, in contrast, knows exactly where to find him because God is putting him through his current trial (verses 8-10). Job’s point in verse 10 about emerging from God’s test as gold compares to similar imagery in later passages where the purification of gold and silver are used to typify trials refining God’s people (e.g., Deuteronomy 4:20; Psalm 66:10; Isaiah 48:10; 1 Peter 1:6-7; 4:12; Revelation 3:18). However, in Job 23:10 it is not clear if Job is saying that his current trial will burn away his impurities leaving only gold, or pure character, remaining—or if he means that the test will reveal him as having had pure character all along. The latter seems more likely since, in the next two verses, he states that he has not departed from God’s commandments (indirectly refuting Eliphaz’s charges).

The precise meaning of Job 24:1 is debated. The phrase “Since times are not hidden from the Almighty” could also be rendered “Why are times not stored up [or reserved] by the Almighty?” The point of the entire verse might be: “Why does God not reserve particular times or days and make His servants aware of them?” These times could refer to God setting days for holding court or to meet with His servants in need (in conjunction with Job’s desire in chapter 23 to appear before God). Alternatively, the times could refer to set periods of judgment (to deal with the sinners Job describes in 24:2-17).

It seems that Job’s concern for his own unjust suffering has sparked the thought about the broader issue that many innocent people in the world are made to suffer at the hands of sinners who themselves do not have to pay for their crimes. How is that fair?

Verses 18-25 are disputed. Note how the New King James Version has added the italicized word “should” a number of times in verses 18 and 20. Without this, the verses are statements of fact concerning the fate of the wicked, as other versions render them. Many, including the NKJV editors, do not think Job would be saying that the wicked will get theirs, as this seems not to fit in context and agrees too much with his friends’ argument. However, Job could well be noting that the wicked will eventually receive punishment in the end—and is just upset that they seem to get off scot-free until then. Others see him as pronouncing a curse on the wicked here (because God doesn’t seem willing to) or stating what God should do as in the NKJV. Verses 22-24 may refer to not just the wicked but all men ultimately being brought low, seeming to show that God uses His power arbitrarily.

There is so much wickedness—so much of man hurting his fellow man. Why does God let it go on? Why doesn’t He bring immediate judgment? Why do the innocent have to suffer at the hands of cruel and wicked men? Why does God Himself bring terrible suffering on Job, who is innocent? This is the essence of what Job wants to understand in this passage—the case he would bring before God.

Chapter 25 (from http://www.easyenglish.info)
Verse 1
Bildad interrupted Job.
Bildad was not pleased to hear about the troubles of poor people (chapter 24). He knew that God is very great. So Bildad thought that God controlled everything.
Bildad also thought that people are unimportant. And he thought that people do not deserve God’s help.
Verses 2-3

These verses are correct. God is powerful. He is the ruler of heaven. Everybody should respect him. He has a vast army of angels. (Angels are God’s servants from heaven.) The angels obey God’s commands. They oppose the devil and his servants.
Verses 4-5

Bildad repeated the ideas in Eliphaz’s first speech (Job 4:17-19). Bildad was right that every person does wrong things against God (Romans 3:23). But Bildad did not say that God wants to forgive us (Romans 3:24). God forgives us when we confess our evil deeds to him.
So nobody is really perfect. But Job was a good man (Job 1:1). In fact, God himself said this (Job 1:8). So we know that Job confessed his evil deeds to God (Job 31:33).

Job trusted God. And God forgave Job’s errors.

Verse 6

These words are not correct. God appointed men and women to rule the animals. God made them in the ‘image of God’ (Genesis 1:26). This is, God wanted people to share his special character.

So Bildad did not really care about the poor people whom Job described in chapter 24. But God does care about them.
God protects people who are poor and weak (Psalm 12:5). Even the animals are special to God. But Jesus taught that people are more valuable to God than animals (Matthew 6:26).

Jesus became a man like us (Hebrews 2:6-9). He did this so that people could become the children of God. And he did it so that people can become members of God’s family (Hebrews 2:11-14).

Hebrews Chapter 10

The opening of Hebrews chapter 10 further confirms what has been studied in the previous weeks concerning some chapters in the Book of Hebrews, namely, that Paul is talking about the earthly and temporary priesthood (high priest) and not the covenant as so many wrongly teach. The instructions given to the High Priest concerning national atonement (along with the other slaughterings and offerings as a whole) were “pictures” given to us, to notify us of the “reality” of what was to come. These instructions for rituals were a similitude portraying later events, that when accomplished by Messiah, were true, final, and entirely Holy. The proof that these pictures that were being portrayed were not the “true reality” lie in the fact that they had to be repeated each and every year. Specifically speaking again of the Day of Atonement, and the cleansing and sacrificial duties of the High Priest. For if they were able to make perfect, they would not have had to be repeated, as Paul shares in verse 1.

“Because those who served, once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins.” Verse 2. These offerings were a continual reminder of the sins, and that sins were continually needing to be cleansed year after year. Why? It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

We see this even today, in that sins are being forgiven when someone simply asks the Father for forgiveness with a contrite heart and a determination to change their ways and walk rightly before Him. No slaughterings are done and yet, sins are forgiven. All Israel knew this. The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 40:6-7 “Slaughtering and meal offering You did not desire; You have opened my ears; Burnt offering and sin offering You did not ask for. Then I said, “See, I have come; In the scroll of the Book it is prescribed for me.” King Solomon also testifies to this fact in 1 Kings 8:46-50:

“When they sin against You – for there is no one who does not sin – and You become enraged with them and give them to the enemy, and they take them captive to the land of the enemy, far or near; and they shall turn beck unto their heart in the land where they have been taken captive, and shall turn, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, saying, ‘We have sinned and acted crookedly, we have committed wrong,’ and they shall turn back to You with all their heart and with all their being in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and shall pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the House which I have built for Your Name, then shall You hear in the heavens You dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You, and all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You? And give them compassion before those who took them captive, and they shall have compassion on them.”

Then He said, “See, I come to do Your desire, O Elohim.” He takes away the first to establish the second. Verse 9. Yehovah took away the sacrificial ritual of animal slaughterings for the covering of sin in order to establish the reign of our new and perfect Hight Priest Messiah Yeshua, who’s offering was perfect and once and for all. The Perfect High Priest is Yeshua.

He is now sitting on the throne in the heavenly Temple waiting until His enemies are made His footstool (v.13). The singular offering of Himself perfected for all time those who are being set-apart. The Holy Spirit is a definite witness to us of this truth. For it was written and prophesied “This is the covenant that I shall make with them after those days, giving My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I shall write them,” and, “Their sins and their lawlessnesses I shall remember no more.”

For there is no other explanation for a situation where a people would desire with their hearts, to do the Torah with joy and gladness. To choose to obey out of love and worship, an Elohim who has never been seen, but believed with the whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. This is the witness of the Holy Spirit. So Paul tells us to have boldness now, to enter in and draw near to the Holy One with the covering of the blood of Messiah Yeshua. Now each of our hearts are sprinkled and cleansed from a wicked conscience and our bodies washed with clean water (v. 22). A beautiful reflection of the offering of the red heifer.
