The Christmas Story-Understanding the Truth

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom to The Royal Family of Yehovah,

“Burundi Africa”

We are just over a month away from when James Relf, our website designer, travels to Burundi, Africa to teach about the Sabbath and Holy Days and Sabbatical years. He will be explaining to 65 churches, their leaders and some of their followers the Torah and the curses for not keeping the laws. We continue to ask you pray for James and the success of this trip. Other groups in other parts of Africa are now inquiring about our teachings, as well. We have no idea where Yehovah is going to take this, but we must be there in order for Him to open the doors for us. So, please continue to pray.

The cost of this trip is again being paid for by sightedmoon.com. To date, we have had very few donations specifically for this. We have not rented any buildings but will be meeting in some churches and or huts or fields to explain Yehovah’s teaching to those who have been misled by the churches for centuries. James is going to provide us with updates on his progress.

Once they begin to keep the Sabbath they will be cut off from any support their former church groups offered them. So our coming is a big deal to them as they want to know the truth and they hunger for it like they were in a famine, a famine of the word. In the West we have endless resources to use and learn from.  But even a projector and computer are rare among the leadership here.

Please join us in praying Yehovah moves in a big way and opens many doors for His word to go out.

Pray to Yehovah and ask Him to reveal to you the truth as to when the year began and when to keep the Feasts.

Again I am going to share with you the commandments for the Sabbatical year, maybe each week until you have it memorized. The Sabbatical year began with the sighting of the moon on the evening of March 10, 2016.

1)  Do not plant

2) Do not harvest

Lev 25:3  You shall sow your field six years, and you shall prune your vineyard six years, and gather in the fruit of it. 4  But in the seventh year shall be a Sabbath of rest to the land, a Sabbath for Jehovah. You shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard. 5  You shall not reap that which grows of its own accord of your harvest, neither gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It is a year of rest to the land.

3) You can eat what grows on it’s own.

Lev 25:6  And the Sabbath of the land shall be food for you, for you and for your servant, and for your slave woman and for your hired servant, and for your stranger who stays with you, 7  and for your cattle, and for the beast that is in your land, shall all the increase of it be for food.

4) Stock up on food in the 6th year.

Lev 25:20  And if you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow nor gather in our increase! 21  Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

5) Forgive any debts people owed to you by Sukkot.

Deu 15:1  At the end of every seven years you shall make a release. 2  And this is the manner of the release. Every man who has a loan to his neighbor shall release it. He shall not exact it from his neighbor, or from his brother, because it is called Jehovah’s release. 3  You may exact it from a foreigner, but your hand shall release that which is yours with your brother,

6) Read the Torah out loud at Sukkot so all can hear it being read.

We have linked you to the News Letter with the laws you are to read just by clicking the link above.

Deu 31:10  And Moses commanded them, saying: At the end of seven years, at the set time of the year of release, in the Feast of Tabernacles, 11  when all Israel has come to appear before Jehovah your God in the place which He shall choose, you shall read this Law before all Israel in their hearing. 12  Gather the people, men and women and the little ones, and your stranger who is within your gates, so that they may hear and that they may learn and fear Jehovah your God, and be careful to do all the words of this Law, 13and that their sons who have not known may hear and learn to fear Jehovah your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over Jordan to possess it.

And by now you should also have completed all your obligations to the widows, orphan, and Levites from your tithes for the 6th year that is now past.

Deu 14:28  At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up inside your gates. 29  And the Levite, because he has no part nor inheritance with you, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are inside your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

Ask Yehovah to bless you for having completed this task and then ask Him to bless your efforts as you keep the Sabbatical year and keep your food safe from decay or flood or hydro blackouts and from scavengers like rodents. Ask Him to protect it and to bless you for keeping His commandments.

Deu 26:12  When you have made an end of tithing all the tithes of your increase the third year, the year of tithing, and have given it to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow (that they may eat inside your gates and be filled), 13  then you shall say before Jehovah your God, I have brought away the holy things out of my house, and also have given them to the Levite, and to the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all Your commandments which You have commanded me. I have not broken Your commandments, neither have I forgotten. 14  I have not eaten of it in my mourning, neither have I putany of it away for unclean use, nor have I given of it for the dead. I have listened to the voice of Jehovah my God, and have done according to all that You have commanded me. 15  Look down from Your holy dwelling, from Heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land which You have given us, as You swore to our fathers, a land that flows with milk and honey. 16  Today Jehovah your God has commanded you to do these statutes and judgments. You therefore shall keep and do them with all your heart and with all your soul. 17  You have today said that Jehovah is your God, and that you would walk in His ways, and keep His statutes and His commandments and His judgments, and listen to His voice. 18  And Jehovah has taken you today to be His peculiar people, as He has promised you, and to keep all His commandments, 19 and to make you high above all nations which He has made, in praise and in name and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to Jehovah your God, even as He has spoken.

May Yehovah bless each and every one of you for keeping the Sabbatical year commandment and breaking the curses that are upon our nations because we have not kept them in the past.

I was asked about eating grapes during the Sabbatical year. I said you cannot eat grapes because the vines are untended. Others said you could eat the fruit of the land that year.

Let’s take a look at this for a moment.

Lev 25:4  But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest to the land, a sabbath for Jehovah. You shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard.

Notice the very next verse.

Lev 25:5  You shall not reap that which grows of its own accord of your harvest, neither gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It is a year of rest to the land.

It is when we examine this word ‘undressed’ that we get some meaning as to whether or not we should eat the grapes during the Sabbatical year.

H5139    na?z??yr  na?zir     naw-zeer’,naw-zeer’

From H5144; separate, that is, consecrated (as prince, a Nazirite); hence (figuratively from the latter) anunpruned vine (like an unshorn Nazirite). (The translation, Nazarite, is by a false alliteration with Nazareth.): – Nazarite [by a false alliteration with Nazareth], separate (-d), vine undressed.

H5144   na?zar    naw-zar’

A primitive root; to holdaloof, that is, (intransitively) abstain (from food and drink, from impurity, and even from divine worship (that is, apostatize)); specifically to setapart (to sacred purposes), that is,devote: – consecrate, separate (-ing, self).

A Nazarite vow is one in which the person cannot touch anything comes from the grape.

Num 6:1  And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 2  Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, When a man or a woman shall vow a vow, a vow of a Nazarite, to be separated to Jehovah, 3  he shall separate from wine and strong drink and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink; neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes or dried. 4  All the days of his Nazariteship he shall eat nothing that is made of the grapevine, from grape seeds even to a stem. 5  All the days of his vow to separate, no razor shall come upon his head. Until all the days are fulfilled in which he separates to Jehovah, he shall be holy. He shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.

Like a Nazarite who does not shave or cut his hair, the grape vine is allowed to run wild and shagged. It is not to be cut. And like a Nazarite who cannot touch the grape, it is my position that we are not to touch the grape during the Sabbatical year.

But some are saying this next verse is the one that says they can eat the grapes during the Shemitah year.

Lev 25:6  And the sabbath of the land shall be food for you, for you and for your servant, and for your slave woman and for your hired servant, and for your stranger who stays with you,

You who are to judge angels must now decide what you will do. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

We did receive the follow views about the grapes. I share it and will let you think on it.

Joseph

You asked me about the Nazarene vow aspect of the word for Undressed vine.  Well, in Leviticus 25:5 in Hebrew the main verb associated with the word “grapes” is “to gather”, then you have the alephtav which is an object marker pointing to the word “grapes”.  The word “nazir” is an adjective describing the“grapes”.  This verse is not telling us to “nazir” the vine.  If it was used as a verb, then you would be correct in what you say.  But it is merely used as an adjective to describe untended vines (they look like Nazirites who have not trimmed their hair – it is a picture or figure of speech), not the action we are to take.  The action is found in the verb “to gather”, which emphasizes the command not to gather in large quantities to process.

Also this would then be a contradiction of the next verse (v.6) to eat “the produce of the land”.  We can eat a bunch of grapes off of the undressed vine, or pick some grape leaves to make dolma for dinner; we just can’t harvest them to store up.  Also if the grape products were “nazir” during the shmittah year, then all the wine, juice, raisins, and other products of the vine that they had stored up from the last year would also be off limits.

These are just a few of my thoughts on the verse.  I am no expert and am open to correction.  I am just a humble student of Yah’s Word.

Blessings

“This Weeks Mail”

I just found your teachings and listening. It is an answer to my prayer that Yah show me any hidden sin! The Sabbatical year was a hidden sin till now. I , like many keep Sabbath and Feast days but the missing part was shown me in your very detailed video of the Blood moons! My Spirit has been vibrating within since I started watching and receiving these truths! May Yah bless you for not compromising and being a teacher of His truth WITH evidence!
Wendy Mixell

I want to watch your videos, yet it seems that they build upon each other. What would be the best order in which to watch them, so as to get the information presented in them in the most coherent fashion? I have been teaching the Torah for the past 8 years, and I feel the same urgency that you do to get the message out. I have ordered all your books, in e-book form and in print, and hope to begin to incorporate your findings in my blog – but as you say, I will test everything also. This is the same message I give my readers, not to trust me, but trust the word of Yah – to take all I say back to His word. It is refreshing to hear another teacher speak the same way I feel – that what I learn today may change as Yah reveals truth to me – I am teachable and correctable – as I believe we all must be – for we only know in part, yet each of us have a piece of the puzzle, and it is in the connecting of the dots that I get excited by what Yahveh shows me. Thank you for all you do, and may His Great Name be exalted, and may He continue to give you the passion that I see so evident in your videos – a man with a heart for Yah and Yeshua.

Be blessed and may His shalom be upon you,

David Robinson

Hello Mr. Dumond

I just had to write this morning about a very disturbing event I notice during the Sabbath yesterday. My home town had it’s first Gay Pride parade! Not only that but now the rainbow flag flies next to the areas town flag. The United Church’s (excuse term) pastor is gay here in Truro, Nova Scotia so he has organised the gay community . I never could have guessed the number of gay people in my home area. Very disturbing

It saddens me to see my community come to this. Makes me want to flee to somewhere less accepting of such behaviour. I never felt so scared for anyone as I do for those involved in desecrating a Sabbath with such abominations to God as what I am witnessing take place yesterday. The covenant made with many (UN.) has really done a number on the values of the western nations. I have a difficult time understanding how transgender and gay rights falls to them other than knowing this world is truly ruled by Satan.

When small towns tolerate such behaviour where can one hide from such? Of course God is the escape. With so many sick and deceived minds out here I understand why only a tithe live to the end.

It helped me a little writing this email to get my feelings out. I know whenever I voice my opinions I get attacked for being bigot or that I am too legalistic about my religious ideas.

The newsletter has been a highlight of the Sabbath since I subscribed on a more positive note to end with.

May God continue to bless your ministries message.

God be with you all.

I am very pleased to report the 2 books sent to me arrived a day and a half ago. Already well into ” Remembering Sabbatical years 2016…”.  So far everything makes perfect sense to me. Keeping the correct timing of Holy Days has to be important to God.

I am so very happy to be learning again. It feels like such a long time ago since God has served up such a spiritual feast of meat to glean from.

I intend to send offerings very shortly that will eventually pay for books Mr. Dumond. My deepest gratitude to you for your agape’. I have a feeling I will be making some great changes in the near future. Do you know of any groups around me that keep to your teachings. With the Internet making it possible for people to listen to same Sabbath message I wondering if there might be a link to regular Sabbath teachings?.

Thanks so much for everything.

God be with you

On Goodreads I had the following review from a lady named Jan.

This book examines primarily the prophecies in Daniel 9:24-27. The author goes into great detail as to WHO “Daniel’s people” are, where they are today, and what is prophesied for them in the last days. The book uses the Hebrew words that were used in the original writings, and the Strong’s Concordance to determine their meaning. In doing so, this passage in Daniel is completely turned upside down in meaning, compared to the primary Christian explanation.

The Ten Tribes of Israel were scattered among the nations. Where did they go? Where are they now? Are they today even aware of their ancestry? Are you descended from one of those tribes? If so, you are a blood descendant of the seed of Abraham.

If you are adopted into the nation of Israel due to your belief in the Hebrew Messiah Yeshua, then you, like the natural seed, are commanded to obey Yehovah. Do you? Are you sure? The End of Days may be sooner than we think, and we WILL be judged.

Among other things, Dumond shows that Shabuot (or Shavuot)the Hebrew word for weeks, is also the word used for Pentecost. He says that the seventy “weeks” we are to count are seventy Jubilee Cycles, or 70 x 49, NOT 70 x 7. If he is correct, this changes everything we thought we knew about Daniel’s vision and much of Revelation, and this is what the book is about.

She also wrote the following about Remembering the Sabbatical year of 2016 and she gave both a 5 star rating.

I read Joseph’s third book first, after a friend recommended it. I found “2300 Days of Hell” very hard to put down. So upon reading “Remembering the Sabbatical Years of 2016, 2023, 2030, 2037, 2044” there was some definite repetition. Some people may prefer this book. I am also reading “The Prophecies of Abraham” which also contains much of the same information, and many charts in color. All three books are excellent. I have put all of Joseph’s dates in an Excel spreadsheet and the numbers all come out just as Joseph says, on the 120 Jubilee timeline.

The review from Professor Liebenberg from Hebraic Roots Teaching Institute in South Africa, on the back cover of this book, says it best. Some snippets;

“Joseph F. Dumond is a phenomenal researcher…”

“The crowning blow came on a day when I read one of many convincing and inspiring newsletters Joseph sends to thousands of recipients globally. Breathlessly I told my wife I conclude that there are indeed curses on nations and individuals for not keeping YHWH’s Shmitahs….”

“To the casual reader, this book will be impressive purely of its sheer amount of topics, and practitioners of truth will be astonished by the book’s depth of detail and complexity. This book will challenge and provoke the reader to search the Scriptures. Joseph F. Dumond committedly walked through the ancient path of Torah in search of the truth. Some will read this challenging work with raised eyebrows, however the true Believer will gladly allow YHWH’s Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) to guide them to the truth.”

“Joseph as a world-class researcher has not only affected my approach to Scripture, but has painstakingly ignited the global Messianic Movement to have a fresh look at YHWH’s instructions on time. His work demanded attention and therefore it was nominated for a Nobel Prize.” (The Prophecies of Abraham)

And she also reviewed The Prophecies of Abraham. If only many of you would do the same on Amazon and Barnes and Noble and Good Reads. Your favourably comments do help others to get the books who would not otherwise hear of this message we are bringing to them. So please do write and share your reviews where ever you can.

There is so much in this book that it will require further study. There are a lot of similarities between this one and 2300 Days of Hell, which I liked better. This one is just full of charts and I had great difficulty with them. There is a tremendous amount of information here.

“Go in Peace”

I received the following email a couple weeks ago and want to share it with all of you and then comment on it.

I have a question. I started my garden in the spring I didn’t think about the Sabbath year. It is all planted, and growing. I am new to this Sabbath days and years, but the 4th commandment says to keep it holy. Anyway I believe what you are saying about the word of God. I brought this up at bible study they said go and join the 7 day ad. church. I need a little help because I believe the bible is the word of God. I miss the 1st month feast days I don’t want to miss the fall feast days. Should I walk away from the garden this year? I thank God for your wed site.

Thanks Lynn Jones

What would you answer? I shared this with my team at sightedmoon.com and was given sound advice. I prayed about it and was led to a teaching from Nehemiah Gordon & Keith Johnson on Naaman.

Here is the story and then I will add my comments after.

2Ki 5:1  And Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and exalted man with his master, because Jehovah had given deliverance to Syria by him. He was also a mighty man, but a leper. 2  And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and captured a little girl out of the land of Israel. And she waited on Naaman’s wife. 3  And she said to her mistress, I wish my lord were with the prophet in Samaria! For he would recover him from his leprosy. 4  And one went in and told his lord, saying, This and this said the girl from the land of Israel. 5  And the king of Syria said, Go, go in and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he departed and took with him ten talents of silver and six thousand of gold, and ten changes of clothing. 6  And he came in with the letter to the king of Israel, saying, And now when this letter has come to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you. And you shall recover him of his leprosy. 7  And it happened when the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to recover a man from his leprosy? For consider now, and see, for he is coiling himself toward me. 8  And it happened when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent to the king, saying, Why have you torn your clothes? Let him now come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. 9  And Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. 10  And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come to you, and you shall be clean. 11  But Naaman was angry, and went away. And he said, Behold, I said within myself, He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of Jehovah his God, and strike his hand over the place and recover the leper. 12  Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them, and be clean? And he turned and went away in a rage. 13  And his servants came near and spoke to him and said, My father, if the prophet had told you to do a great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, Wash and be clean? 14  And he went down and dipped seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God. And his flesh came again like the flesh of a little boy, and he was clean. 15  And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company. And he came and stood before him. And he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel. And now please take a blessing from your servant. 16  But he said, As Jehovah lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it, but he refused. 17  And Naaman said, Please shall there not then be given to your servant two mules’ burden of earth? For your servant will from now on offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to Jehovah. 18  In this thing may Jehovah pardon your servant, that when my master goes to the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he is supported by my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon; when I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, may Jehovah pardon your servant in this thing. 19  And he said to him, Go in peace. And he went away from him a little way.

When I first learned about the Sabbaths in 1982 I was working 7 days a week as a Pipeline Foreman. I had as many as 50 men working under my authority. We had the crew split up into three sections with straw bosses looking after each group of men, the Right-of-way and digging crew, the pipe gang and welding crew, the lowering in crew, and then the backfill and clean up crew. We used to go up and down four lanes of traffic in Quebec City and Trois Riviere digging up the one lane, cutting jackhammering and then doing all of our work and paving it by the end of the day. We would do about 1,000 meters every day. That was my crew.

In Quebec City I had 5 crews, all of about 50 men, each doing this throughout the city and we all worked 7 days a week.

I was both a Foreman and then a Supt. And yet I was being called to keep this Sabbath rest on Saturdays. I tried to prove it wrong and could not. Even my Catholic Church said if I went by the bible that I would have to admit that the Saturday Sabbath is the Sabbath.

With all of this responsibility I had and trying to build a name and a career, I now had to wrestle with this Sabbath question and working on Saturdays.

I was praying and reading and learning lots of things I was never taught in church.

So I decided to set up my crews and line them out with the days work each Saturday morning and then once they were going I would sneak away and drive the 3 hour drive to Montreal to attend Sabbath service. The people were so nice and so generous, inviting me to stay with them and to eat with them after Sabbath. But then when I went back to work the next day I was greeted with a disaster. the first week they hit a major electric line, shutting down over half of Trois Riviere. The next Sabbath I sneaked away they hit a major trans Canada Bell Line and then the third week they hit a major water line. During the week nothing went wrong but on the Sabbath when I was suppose to be there, disasters struck. Why God? I am trying to obey.

My boss and the owner of the company came to me and asked me what was going on. I thought I was about to be fired. My career was about to be destroyed. I explained to them why I was going to Montreal each Saturday. I walked out of the meeting with my head low and about to pack up my things and return home. I was working out of town. Monday they sent out a memo to all employees stating that this company would no longer be working on Saturdays. This upset many of the men who wanted the overtime and it stunned me as Yehovah had brought this about for my sake. I was happy and stunned at the same time.

Another story: A man has to plant rice in order to pay for his mortgage on his land or he will loose the land. It is the Sabbatical year and the man just learned about it. He plants the fields even though he know he should not. His prior commitments force him to do so, even though he does not want to. Should we condemn this man for having a lack of faith? No, not at all. Then other men in the faith have stepped in and offered to pay the mortgage so that he can keep the Shemitah year.

Other people use the name of Jesus and God when they first come into this walk. Should we jump right on them and tell then not to say it but instead to say Yehshua or Yehovah? No. Absolutely not.

Let us get back to Naaman.

Naaman became a believer in Yehovah after he was healed and wanted to obey Him. But he says in

As the Commander for the Syrian King Naaman had to hold the hand of King as he bowed in the Temple of Rimmon. If he did not bow along with the King it could mean his life would be killed. Naaman no longer believed in Rimmon as we have just read but was trapped in a situation he did not know how to get out of. Much like I was. Much like many of you are when you are called. You had no idea you were sinning when you first learned about the Sabbath and Holy Days.

But Yehovah is the one calling you and just as He did with me – He provided a door of escape for me and He will do the same for you.

What was Elisha’s response? Did he condemn Naaman for worshipping idols like many of you do to others who are still learning, like I was when I first started?

19  And he said to him, Go in peace.

All of us are on a learning curve. Some are just starting and others are well along on the curve. Many have forgotten how they once were when they first began.

To Lynn Jones I say share your garden with others. Eat some of it for yourselves. Do not put any away for the winter. And continue to study Yehovah’s word. Go in Peace.

What did the Apostles say in Acts?

Act 15:6  And the apostles and elders were assembled to see about this matter. 7  And after much disputing, Peter rose up and said to them, Men, brothers, you recognize that from ancient days God chose among us that through my mouth the nations should hear the Word of the gospel, and believe. 8  And God, who knows the hearts, bore them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit even as to us. 9  And He put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10  Now therefore why do you tempt God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples, a yoke which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11  But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, according to which manner they also believed12  And all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring what miracles and wonders God had worked among the nations through them. 13  And after they were silent, James answered, saying, Men, brothers, listen to me. 14  Even as Simon has declared how God at the first visited the nations to take out of them a people for His name. 15  And the words of the Prophets agree to this; as it is written, 16  “After this I will return and will build again the tabernacle of David which has fallen down; and I will build again its ruins, and I will set it up, 17  so those men who are left might seek after the Lord, and all the nations on whom My name has been called, says the Lord, who does all these things.” 18  All His works are known to God from eternity. 19  Therefore my judgment is that we do not trouble those who have turned to God from among the nations, 20  but that we write to them that they should abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. 21  For Moses from ages past has those in every city proclaiming him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

These new people would continue to learn and grow each week as they went to where Moses was taught. You do not have to perfect them all in one sitting. Let them have time to grow and digest and think. Yehovah called them, not you. Let Him work with them. Show them mercy as you were shown mercy. Plant your seed and let it grow.

Now go in Peace

“The actual birth day of Yeshua”

Each year when Christmas comes around many of us refuse to get involved because we understand the real meaning of this time of year. But in so doing we often never do relate the true birth of Yehshua and all that took place around that time. Yehshua was born on the Feast of Yom Teruah. This is the reason we now have party horns to blow on our birthdays today. Some people (I was once one of them, but not now) have taken a church teaching and no longer keep birthdays. They do this on the basis that every time a birthday is mentioned in the bible people die.

Nowhere in the Bible is it stated that observing birthdays is wrong. Those who do say it is wrong use four predominant lines of reasoning to prevent their flocks celebrating birthdays:

  1. People died at the two birthdays mentioned in the Bible
  2. Day of death better than birth – undue honour
  3. Not celebrated by Jews or Christians
  4. Pagan

When presented together, these may appear to provide solid defense against birthdays. However, when deconstructed each point shows poor logic.

This is based on comments such as the following:

“The Bible reports only two birthday celebrations, both of persons who were not servants of the true God. The first was that of Pharaoh of Egypt. It was marked by the hanging of Pharaoh’s baker, who had been in prison with Joseph. … The second, some 1,800 years later, was the birthday of Herod Antipas [during which the daughter of Herodias asked for] ‘The head of John the baptizer.’ … Is it just coincidental that they are mentioned and that both were for persons not having God’s approval? Or could it be that Jehovah deliberately had these details recorded in his Word, which he says is “beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight”?”

There is also the story of Molech and his birthday on December 25 the winter solstice. This is another proof not to keep birthdays.

Coming from the Churches of God I was one who would not keep birthdays. I regret this now for my family’s sake. I was just ignorant of all the facts. Don’t you be so ignorant also.

Nehemiah Gordon writes that most Jews have no clue what the meaning of the Blowing of Trumpets is about.

One of the unique things about Yom Teruah is that the Torah does not say what the purpose of this holy day is. The Torah gives at least one reason for all the other holy days and two reasons for some. The Feast of Matzot (Unleavened Bread) commemorates the Exodus from Egypt, but it is also a celebration of the beginning of the barley harvest (Exodus 23:15; Leviticus 23:4–14). The Feast of Shavuot (Weeks) is a celebration of the wheat harvest (Exodus 23:16; 34:22). Yom Ha-Kippurim is a national day of atonement as described in great detail in Leviticus 16. Finally, the Feast of Sukkot (Booths) commemorates the wandering of the Israelites in the desert and is also a celebration of the ingathering of agricultural produce (Exodus 23:16). In contrast to all these Torah festivals, Yom Teruah has no clear purpose other than that we are commended to rest on this day.

Many Messed up Messianic are now believing that Yehshua was born at Sukkot because of the faulty logic that He must have been circumcised on the 8th day. And that is the end of their research. Again do not be ignorant of the truth. Search all things.

This week I want to share what is normally called the Christmas story. It is not the Christmas story but it is the birth of the Messiah Yehshua. Yehovah would not send His son on just any old day. And most of you have never heard the whole story before. We are just weeks away from this momentous event in the lives of mankind. Do you not think you should know it, so you can teach your kids and grandchildren the truth? Now you can.
