Should You Fast on The Day of Atonement?

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom Family,

“In The Mail”

hello! I hope I can call you Joseph. I have been watching you on youtube and reading your latest book. My husband and I watched the lost 10 tribes today and 2300 days of hell for our Shabbat! I am beside myself! I understand what you are saying and believe you are on target. It would amaze you what the Father has been showing my husband and me to get us ready to accept these teachings. Do you have any videos on youtube that explains how we are to keep these Feasts when we are not in the land? We are doing the best we can and had practically backed off from doing anything besides reading about them because of the calendar conflict. I am growing very fond of you and am appreciating you more and more although I resisted listening to you for awhile. Thank you for accepting my friend request. I am sure you are very busy.
R.P.

Also this past week I had asked a number of people if they would write a short note to the host of an upcoming conference in Colorado in an effort that I might speak there next July 2016. As of today I have not heard back from them.

But the comments were such a blessing to me to read. I just wanted to save them and share them with you all.  I also want to thank those who took the time to write and share what sightedmoon.com has meant to you. Thank you so very much.

  • Wendy LaakesNo Prophecy Conference would be complete without Joseph Dumond of com. Literally thousands of people can attest to the fact that his insight and passion to leave no stone unturned boggles your mind. Scripture, history, time lines, and archaeology everything must fit seamlessly and it does. Joe has a father’s heart to warn the people, I have watched him time after time give away his books and videos to those who could not afford to purchase. The nightly news should be understood in its fullest context and Joe’s teachings make this possible.

Kyle Widmyer Joe Dumond Teaches Scripture from Scripture, You will not find any opinions or forced ideas. I have been learning from Joe for 3 years now. I have spent extensive time scrutinizing his teachings. I have yet to find an error. Mr Dumond himself challenges each and every person to prove him wrong. How many teachers actually do that?

Chris W. Clark A Prophecy Conference would not be complete without the man who has uncovered the Scriptural and Archaeological evidence for the cycles of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years from 2016 back to the beginning … Joseph Dumond

Peachy Pilar Belleza Daye I am from the Philippines and now residing in Canada. I have been a member of a Church of God denomination for more than 30 years and never learned about the real truth until about a year ago. I tried to prove everything from the Bible. And now I am a real Torah keeper, follow everything Joseph Dumond teaches and proving it through my Bible.

Judith Dennis No one else that I know of is more diligent in their studies of the Sabbatical and Jubilee Cycles than my friend and brother Joseph Dumond.
He has worked tirelessly to teach this critical message with the hope of warning the brethren of what is coming!
He has earned my utmost trust and respect as a true Prophet of the Most High!

This message IS the final warning to His people, Israel, and Yehovah has chosen Joseph to deliver it! Btw: I am located in the Central U.S. and have been learning about the Sabbatical and Jubilee Cycles since 2010!
Excellent choice!
Shalom

Laura Smith Every true prophecy conference must include the teachings and presentations of Joseph Dumond, who brings a powerful prophetic message that all need to hear. For ten years, I have been learning deep scriptural truths from his books, Sighted Moon website and weekly newsletters. Joseph Dumond’s historic and scriptural research is exceptionally accurate and thorough. He presents profound prophecy in a way that can be proven from your own bible. Joseph Dumond’s teachings bring a vitally important prophetic warning that must be shared.

Brian Patmore The teachings and research from SightedMoon (Joe Dumond) have for many years helped believers come to know scripture and their creator, recommend strongly !!!

Marie-Louise Muehlemann As a Swiss lady, living in Thailand, I got one morning in 2011 the News Letter of Joseph Dumond “sightedmoon.com” for the first time. What I read hear I had never heard of it before. I was taken aback of the detailed knowledge and understanding of Scripture. Is this man living what he is talking about? That was my question. We met in 2012 on Sukkot in Israel. His first book “The Prophecies of Abraham” was promoted for the Nobel Price in 2011. He has got what others don’t have: the scriptural, archaeological and history evidences of Biblical Truth. He proves it all, no guessing, no perhaps or may be…..
The Sabbatical years embedded into the 120 Jubilee cycles which he is telling us were supported by a sign from heaven. He planted with friends 120 vine plants in 2012 in the Negev. 2013 came from Egypt a huge number of locusts. They have eaten up the vineyards, all, except the 120 plants, symbol of the 120 Jubilee cycles. We started to be amazed.

The Prophet Conference – and all the world – needs to know this man, needs to hear him out and start to understand the true timeline our Creator has with mankind. The Sabbath Year begins Aviv 2016 – Aviv 2017. You have to see the proofs. It is not only about faith, it is also about knowledge. Hosea 4.6: My people have perished for lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge…….
That is why you, Mr Gary Stearman are of need of Joseph Dumond at the Prophecy Watchers Conference in 2016. He has been given the knowledge we all need. Thanks in advance for inviting this gifted man.

Lane Seal Seems like every corner has a prophet on it now days. There are people who have prophesied AN event correctly but I know Joe Dumond has prophesied multiple events over several years. He shows the past the future and the present all in the light of the word of Yahovah. I know this man, his heart is true, his desire is to warn, to educate and to elevate the minds of the people above the generic religion most of us were raised with. For over three years now he has been faithful standing in the gap for me and my son Cory and because of his faithfulness and devotion, Ya has used him to provide many of our needs. Lots of people prophecy and testify but with few actions to back them up. Not so with this man. I live in South Mississippi in what used to be the United States of America one Nation under the true God. Because of the revelation of Joes teaching hundreds here will not be caught unprepared.

Corette Buri What Joseph Dumond of sightedmoon.com teaches are just awesome/ authentic as he always proves his findings thru scripture.
Where can i find a teacher like him here in Thailand who could blow my mind about what prophecy in our bibles are really warning us?
Teachers/preachers around the world teach nothing but on Salvation thru grace…. all the Blessings & ignoring the Curses found in Lev.26 for disobedience to ???? commands.
I’m really so blessed to have met Joe in Israel in 2010 & since then i had the need to continue studying as his teachings has greatly increased my understanding of the bible. I’ve been also sharing his teachings. Infact, i worked it out hard that he could go teach about the Sabbatical & Jubilee years in the Philippines this coming Sukkot.
I felt my countrymen needed to listen of what Joseph Dumond has to say about the curses they’re reaping for not knowing/understanding ???? commands & His Sabbaths they are to obey & keep.

Ella Morgan If there is to be a conference on “Prophecy” I would expect to see Joseph Dumond, Nobel Peace nominee for his work in “The Prophecies of Abraham” to be at the top of the list. He, like David, is a man after Our Father’s heart and has been given the wisdom of Solomon to decipher the prophetic which is easily seen in current events. His book “Remembering the Sabbatical Year 2016” makes it easy to understand the Sabbatical and Jubiliee years and see just which Sabbatical year we are in and the importance of keeping them along with the coming consequences of obedience or disobedience. Bro Joe has not only proven from the scriptures just when the Sabbatical years have been but has over 30 historical proofs as well. His book “2300 Days of Hell” unlocks what in Daniel has been sealed until the end times – the times we are now in and shows the perilous times that are upon us. Surely no Prophecy conference would be complete without Joseph Dumond’s heart of Messiah to do only his Fathers will and the fire of John the Baptizer to call us to repentance and obedience. I am from Kentucky and have known of Bro Dumond’s teachings for approximately 4-5 years and have seen his heart to awaken a sleeping people and words that have come to pass.

Gail Petterson Hi, I live in England and have been following Joseph for about 6yrs, since reading his books (The Prophesies of Abraham and 2300 Days of Hell) the Bible has become much clearer to understand. Josephs explanations of End Time Prophesy is invaluable for knowing what is ahead and forewarned is forearmed. You will be blown away by the Revelations, Thank you Joseph, you will never know how much your teachings have blessed me

Barb Hemphill i was deeply surprised to notice that Joseph Dumond is not amongst your scheduled speakers at the upcoming conference. Joseph is the only person I know of who is teaching about the Sabbatical and Jubilee Years and he is doing it with urgency and passion and at a pace that would exhaust most of us even half his age. He is not about popular or monetary gain, he is about a sincere and genuine love and concern for all of the Israelites who are heading for disaster should they remain in ignorance of what is coming and WHY it is coming. All his teachings are straight from scripture and can be proven by each and every one of us if we just take the time to read and study them for ourselves. I live in Canada and I have learnt from Josephs teachings for 5 years now. He shoots straight from the belt, he is not out to win hearts, he is out purely and simply to WARN. To omit him from your Conference would, in my opinion, be a grave error and huge disservice to all those who are seeking truth.

Gregory Keith Cronkhite Gary,
Thank you for your moving words at Reid ‘s funeral last week. He was a great man and friend!

About a year ago, I began praying about the sabbatical year that I would know the truth on how to observe it. Less than 6 months later I found myself producing two radio shows with Joseph Dumond. He is THE expert on the sabbatical and jubilee year cycles and how they relate to everything in Scripture and today’s events. Listen each Tuesday night at 9CT on Messianic Lamb radio. Com, Wed nights at 9pm on Hebrew nation online. Com or listen to past archives on outcryministries.com

I will be traveling to Pennsylvania on labor day weekend to meet him in person and then traveling to the Philippines with him later in September to film him as he speaks on these important overlooked topics. His information is meticulously researched, thorough, and extremely interesting! If you want biblical prophecy at the Rocky Mountain Prophecy Conference, your meetings will be incomplete without Joseph there. If you need more proof there are many videos on YouTube as well! Shalom

Pamela Perrine I second all the good things that others have said about Joseph Dumond and his teachings. Rather than repeat any of that let me just add that one of the things I appreciate most about his work is that he doesn’t pull single verses out of Scripture….he uses CONTEXT, sections, sometimes chapters in order to properly present the information and connect the dots. Joseph doesn’t twist The Word to fit his beliefs ~ if an idea he is researching doesn’t fit The Word then he accepts that it is his idea that is wrong, not the Scripture!

Torah Truthseeker To Prophecy Watchers:

I am from Maryland. I am writing to introduce you to an outstanding speaker and author named Joseph F. Dumond. Mr. Dumond has spent numerous years researching a variety of topics that are of great importance to believers across all denominational boundaries. His subject matter, including but not limited to: the Lost Tribes of Israel, the Sabbatical and Jubilee Cycles, the Assyrians, Blood Moons, The 70 Shabua of Daniel, is very interesting and is sure to captivate those who seek truth with open minds and open hearts.

He is scheduled to speak, in the Philippines during the biblical feast of Sukkot this September, to share the message among dignitaries and the community as a whole. His message does not discriminate. It is for ALL who seek the will of our Creator.

Mr. Dumond prides himself on research and diligently attempts to prove his teachings before bringing them to the public. He has over 38 documented biblical and historical proofs that confirm his message. How many prophetic messages are backed by facts? Yet, Mr. Dumond does not label himself a teacher, preacher, or prophet. His only motivation is to share the messages of our Creator, with as many people and as often as possible.

People who want to understand what is happening in the world, what has happened, what will happen and WHY……need to hear his message!

I humbly ask that you please add Joseph Dumond as a speaker to your upcoming conference. He would be a great addition to your line-up of extraordinary speakers.

Thank you for your consideration of such an outstanding speaker.

“Next Weekend in Myerstown PA”

On September 5 & 6 we will be speaking in Myerstown, PA about the coming curses and how they can be broken by obedience. You must register for this event with Margaret Umble by calling 717-507-5149 for details. You need to register by August 22. Even though the deadline is now past, if you talk nicely to her, she might still let you come.

Joining us in Myerstown are Mitch and Krista Houston from our Radio show as well as Greg Cronkite, our producer. Our web producer, James Relf, will also be there so you can meet our whole team.

We look forward to seeing you there.

If you think you already know all that we teach on this subject, come and find out differently. We will be sharing 38 Sabbatical and Jubilee proofs and possibly as many as 50 if I find the time to get the research done. We will explain the Prophecies of Abraham and we will go over each and every Sabbatical and Jubilee year and compare them to every depression and recession and boom and bust so you can decide what is going to happen with our economy next. Or maybe not.

“Should you Fast on the Day of Atonement?”

Recently on one of our radios shows I mentioned that you must fast on the day of Atonement. We discussed how some are saying you no longer need to do this.

This show prompted a good friend of mine to write me, challenging me about fasting on Atonement.

As with almost every email, phone call and comment, it sent me back to rethink my position. As I contemplated on this, fasting or not fasting, a number of thoughts came to me.

Sometimes we need to step back and look at Yehovah’s bigger picture, and other times to go in closer to see the finer details. For this subject this week we will do both. The obvious then becomes very clear.

First let’s get some biblical background information.

Lev 23:26  And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 27  Also, on the tenth of this seventh month, this is a day of atonement. It shall be a holy convocation to you. And you shall afflict your souls and offer a fire offering to Jehovah. 28  And you shall do no work in that same day, for it is a day of atonement, in order to make an atonement for you before Jehovah your God. 29  For any soul who is not humbled in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30  And any soul who does any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31  You shall do no kind of work. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32  It shall be to you a sabbath of rest, and you shall humble your souls. In the ninth of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall keep your sabbath.

We then see this being acted out on the Day of Atonement in Lev 16. And it begins with a very serious Yehovah killing the two sons of Aaron.

Lev 16:1  And Jehovah spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before Jehovah and they died. 2  and Jehovah said to Moses, Speak to Aaron your brother, that he does not come at all times into the sanctuary within the veil before the mercy-seat, which is on the Ark, so that he will not die. For I will appear in the cloud on the mercy-seat. 3  Aaron shall come into the sanctuary this way: with a bull, a son of the herd, for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. 4  He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches on his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen miter he shall be dressed. These are holy garments. And he shall wash his flesh in water and put them on. 5  And he shall take from the congregation of the sons of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. 6  And Aaron shall offer his young bull of the sin offering which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself and for his house. 7  And he shall take the two he-goats and present them before Jehovah at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 8  And Aaron shall cast lots on the two he-goats; one lot for Jehovah and the other lot for a complete removal. 9  And Aaron shall bring the goat on which Jehovah’s lot fell, and offer it for a sin offering. 10  But the goat on which the lot fell to be the complete removal shall be presented alive before Jehovah, to make an atonement with him, to let him go for a complete removal into the wilderness. 11  And Aaron shall bring the young bull of the sin offering which is for himself, and shall atone for himself and for his house, and shall kill the young bull of the sin offering which is for himself. 12  And he shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Jehovah, and his hands full of fragrant perfumes beaten small, and bring it within the veil. 13  And he shall put the incense on the fire before Jehovah. And the cloud of the incense shall cover the mercy-seat that is on the Testimony. And he shall not die. 14  And he shall take of the blood of the young bull and shall sprinkle with his finger on the front of the mercy-seat eastward. And he shall sprinkle at the front of the mercy-seat seven times from the blood with his finger. 15  Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering that is for the people, and bring its blood inside the veil. And he shall do with that blood as he did with the blood of the young bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy-seat and before the mercy-seat. 16  And he shall atone for the sanctuary, because of the uncleanness’s of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins. And so he shall do for the tabernacle of the congregation which remains with them in the midst of their uncleanness’s. 17  And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goes in to make an atonement in the sanctuary, until he comes out and has made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel. 18  And he shall go out to the altar that is before Jehovah and make an atonement for it. And he shall take some of the blood of the young bull, and of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around. 19  And he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness’s of the sons of Israel. 20  And when he has made an end of reconciling the sanctuary and the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, he shall bring the live goat. 21  And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the sins of the sons of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send away by the hand of a chosen man into the wilderness. 22  And the goat shall bear on him all their sins to a land in which no one lives. And he shall let the goat go in the wilderness. 23  And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall strip off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the sanctuary, and shall leave them there. 24  And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself and for the people. 25  And the fat of the sin offering shall he burn on the altar. 26  And he that let go the goat for the complete removal shall wash his clothes and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp. 27  And the young bull for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall they carry forth outside the camp. And they shall burn their skins in the fire, and their flesh and their dung. 28  And he who burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp. 29  And it shall be a statute forever to you: in the seventh month, on the tenth of the month, you shall afflict your souls and do no work at all, the native and the alien who is staying among you. 30  For on that day an atonement shall be made for you, to cleanse you, so that you may be clean from all your sins before Jehovah.

Lev 16:31  It shall be a sabbath of rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls, by a statute forever.

Lev 16:32  And the priest whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest’s office in his father’s stead, shall make the atonement and shall put on the linen clothes, the holy garments. 33  And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar; and he shall make an atonement for the priests and for all the people of the congregation. 34  And this shall be an everlasting statute to you, to make an atonement for the sons of Israel for their sins once a year. And he did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

Yehovah is very serious about this day. So serious that he killed Aaron’s two boys and He warns us sternly in Lev 23 that He will do likewise to us who treat this day flagrantly.

29  For any soul who is not humbled in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30  And any soul who does any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. People say yep, uh-huh, and then they will go to Isaiah 58 and read it.

Yehovah is also very specific about when it is observed making no mistake as to when the Day begins and ends.

32  It shall be to you a sabbath of rest, and you shall humble your souls. In the ninth of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall keep your sabbath.

In the greater picture of this event we are shown how Satan is going to be locked away by a great angel in Revelation.

Rev 20:1  And I saw an angel come down from Heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2  And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years. 3  And he cast him into the abyss and shut him up and set a seal on him, that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years should be fulfilled. And after that he must be loosed a little time.

Again compare Revelation to Lev 16

21  And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the sins of the sons of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send away by the hand of a chosen man into the wilderness. 22  And the goat shall bear on him all their sins to a land in which no one lives. And he shall let the goat go in the wilderness.

We are being told that we must humble our souls on this day. We are also told that we must afflict our souls on this day. And this is what people are questioning today.

I urge you to now go and read our article from last year on this very same subject.

Day of Atonement – To Fast or not to Fast-That is the question.

In this article I show you how the day of Atonement is the end of the 10 days of awe. It is also the end of the 40 days of repentance. These 10 days are in fact 10 years or trials in which we will be starving for food and killed at the whims of our enemies. We will be begging for our lives. And this is the attitude we are to have when we afflict our soul, when we humble ourselves to Yehovah.

Far too many of you will not humble yourselves. Why?

Eph 5:21  submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of God. 22  Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23  For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24  Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it, 26  that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word, 27  that He might present it to Himself as the glorious church, without spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Many women have up and left their husband and families and say they are now going to serve and live with their true love Jesus. Many men have left their unconverted mate in search of a woman in the faith, as it were. All in pursuit of happiness and never finding it.

The answer as to why they cannot humble themselves, one to another, is pride and selfishness; women have the same problems as men do, as told to us in Timothy.

2Ti 3:1  Know this also, that in the last days grievous times will be at hand. 2  For men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3  without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good, 4  traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5  having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these. 6  For of these are those who creep into houses and lead captive silly women loaded with sins, led away with different kinds of lusts, 7  ever learning and never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth. 8  But as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so these also resist the truth, men of corrupt mind, reprobate concerning the faith. 9  But they shall proceed no further. For their foolishness shall be plain to all, as theirs also became.

I most certainly cannot solve the many various marriage troubles out there amongst the brethren, both men and women, but I do know this: Each of us must examine ourselves during these 40 days of repentance.

This Sabbath, the 13th day of the 6th month, is our 13th day of examination. Are you examining yourselves or not? Do you care or not? Have you forgiven those who offended you or not? What about your spouse? Really? What about your Dad or your Mom? When was the last time you talked to them?

Or are you in each of these cases holding on to that hate, that hurt that keeps you going? Holding on to that thing they did to you that you will not forgive nor forget?

Php 2:3  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. 4  Do not let each man look upon his own things, but each man also on the things of others. 5  For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6  who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, 7  but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. 8  And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Do none of you consider what you are told in Matthew? What is Yehshua saying when He says unless you are humbled like this child? What are we talking about in this News letter? Humbling yourself and repentance culminating with the Day of Atonement.

Mat 18:1  At that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven? 2  And Jesus called a little child to Him and set him in their midst, 3  and said, Truly I say to you, Unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven. 4  Therefore whoever shall humble himself like this little child, this one is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven. 5  And whoever shall receive one such little child in My name receives Me. 6  But whoever shall offend one of these little ones who believes in Me, it would be better for him that an ass’s millstone were hung around his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.

Then immediately after this Yehshua continues to expound on this notion of humbling yourself. Stop splitting the scriptures up into sound bites and read the whole chapter to get the true meaning of what He is saying. Pay attention, all of you self righteous people who have left your spouse for some sort of offense.

Mat 18:7  Woe to the world because of offenses! For it is necessary that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! 8  And if your hand or your foot causes you to offend, cut them off and throw them from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. 9  And if your eye offends you, pluck it out and throw it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.

Read the next verse and ask of whom is He speaking. Is not these little one your spouse? Is not one of these little ones your spouse that has offended you somehow?

If that is true then we all are just children, some older than others. Read what Yehshua says next in this very same chapter of Matthew.

Mat 18:10  Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I say to you that in Heaven their angels always behold the face of My Father in Heaven.

Many of you want to save the world or be part of this sort of thing, so long as you do not get dirty. Your spouse in the faith or your spouse who is not in the faith, are they not worth saving? You give up on the ones you once loved and yet you think you can help someone you do not know.

Again read what Yehshua is saying in this same chapter. It is all part of the same conversation and it is all related.

Mat 18:11  For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.

Mat 18:12  What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them strays, does he not leave the ninety and nine and go into the mountains and seek the straying one? 13  And if it happens that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety and nine which did not stray. 14  Even so it is not the will of your Father in Heaven that one of these little ones should perish. 15  But if your brother shall trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16  But if he will not hear you, take one or two more with you, so that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 17  And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he neglects to hear the church, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax-collector. 18  Truly I say to you, Whatever you shall bind on earth shall occur, having been bound in Heaven; and whatever you shall loose on earth shall occur, having been loosed in Heaven. 19  Again I say to you that if two of you shall agree on earth as regarding anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by My Father in Heaven. 20  For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst. 21  Then Peter came to Him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Until seven times? 22  Jesus said to him, I do not say to you, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.

Now as we come to the end of this chapter, pay close attention. This is speaking to each and everyone of us, specially now during these 40 days of repentance, of which there are just 27 days left until the day of Atonement. Pay attention because this is talking directly to you.

Mat 18:23  Therefore the kingdom of Heaven has been compared to a certain king who desired to make an accounting with his servants. 24  And when he had begun to count, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25  But as he had nothing to pay, his lord commanded that he, and his wife and children, and all that he had, be sold, and payment be made. 26  Then the servant fell down and worshiped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me and I will pay you all. 27  Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion and released him and forgave him the debt. 28  But the same servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. And he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe. 29  And his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, Have patience with me and I will pay you all. 30  And he would not, but went and cast him into prison until he should pay the debt. 31  So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry. And they came and told their lord all that was done. 32  Then his lord, after he had called him, said to him, O wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33  Should you not also have pitied your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you? 34  And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due to him. 35  So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also to you, unless each one of you from your hearts forgive his brother their trespasses.

You, ladies and gentlemen, you little children who once worshiped idols and committed all sorts of sins. No we are not going to see who has been the worst, for all of us have sinned. And all of us have been forgiven by Yehovah in the exact same way this King has forgiven this one servant.

But you are just like this one servant because you cannot and will not forgive your spouse the offenses they have done to you. You will not forgive your Mother or Father for something they have done to you a 1,000 years ago, or your sister or brother or your brethren or a past pastor from another church.

I do not care if they have had an affair, or committed a sexual crime on you or you were a victim of a pedophile. Each and everyone of you has sinned and is guilty of death, the same as they are.

You have been forgiven – will you not now forgive them? Except for the grace of Yehovah you could have been exactly the same as they are. Do not let your pride get in your way. Yehovah hates the proud. Will you forgive, or will you be the same as that ungrateful servant who is not forgiving those who owed him money?

One more story before we get back to the act of humbling ourselves.

Luk 7:36  And one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And going into the Pharisee’s house, He reclined. 37  And behold, a woman, a sinner in the city, knowing that He reclined in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster vial of ointment. 38  And she stood behind Him, weeping at His feet, and she began to wash His feet with tears and wipe them with the hair of her head. And she ardently kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment. 39  But seeing this, the Pharisee who had invited Him, spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, for she is a sinner. 40  And answering, Jesus said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he said, Teacher, speak. 41  There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42  And they having nothing to pay, he freely forgave both. Then which of them do you say will love him most? 43  And answering, Simon said, I suppose that one to whom he forgave most. And He said to him, You have judged rightly. 44  And He turned to the woman and said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, yet you gave Me no water for My feet. But she has washed My feet with tears, and has wiped them with the hair of her head. 45  You gave Me no kiss, but this woman, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet. 46  You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with ointment. 47  Therefore I say to you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, he loves little. 48  And He said to her, Your sins are forgiven. 49  And those reclining with Him began to say within themselves, Who is this who even forgives sins? 50  And He said to the woman, Your faith has saved you, go in peace.

Changing your name to some Hebrew version does not make you righteous. Humbling your heart does.

1Jn 1:6  If we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7  But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10  If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.

John is now going to call us his little Children. Each of us are as children. Are you the one preventing your spouse or parent or someone from coming to Yehovah by your actions or inaction? They too are looked at as children.

1Jn 2:1  My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2  And He is the propitiation concerning our sins, and not concerning ours only, but also concerning the sins of all the world. 3  And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commandments. 4  He who says, I have known Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5  But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of God is perfected. By this we know that we are in Him. 6  He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk even as He walked. 7  Brothers, I do not write a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the Word which you have heard from the beginning. 8  Again, I write a new commandment to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true Light now shines. 9  He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness until now. 10  He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no offense in him. 11  But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because darkness has blinded his eyes. 12  I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake. 13  I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father. 14  I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

Now let us go and read Isaiah 58 in this context. I am showing many of you your sins. And some of you are greatly offended by this and will send off an angry email to me. You are rebelling against the Kingdom of Yehovah yet you think you are apart of it, and those bad people aren’t and you will not forgive them even though they were once your family.

Isa 58:1  Cry aloud, do not spare, lift up your voice like a ram’s horn, and show My people their rebellion, and the house of Jacob their sins. 2  Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and one who did not forget the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in drawing near to God. 3  They say, Why have we fasted, and You do not see? Why have we afflicted our soul, and You take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and crush all your laborers. 4  Behold, you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness; you shall not fast as you do today, to make your voice to be heard on high. 5  Is it such a fast that I have chosen? A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast and a day pleasing to Jehovah? 6  Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed ones go free, and that you break every yoke? 7  Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, and that you should bring home the wandering poor? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8  Then shall your light break out as the dawn, and your health shall spring out quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you. 9  Then you shall call, and Jehovah shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from among you, the pointing of the finger, and speaking vanity; 10  and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday. 11  And Jehovah shall always guide you and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make your bones fat; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. 12  And those who come of you shall build the old ruins; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. 13  If you turn your foot because of the Sabbath, from doing what you please on My holy days, and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of Jehovah, honorable; and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words,14  then you shall delight yourself in Jehovah; and I will cause you to ride on the high places of the earth, and feed yourself with the inheritance of Jacob your father. For the mouth of Jehovah has spoken.

When you accuse your spouse or your parents of wrongs they do or did, you place them under the yoke of the law. The penalty that they deserve for that wrong is death and you are eagerly accusing them. You point the finger as Satan does, the accuser of the brethren. “If you stop speaking vanity’, Look up this word found in verse 9. If you stop wanting that spouse or parent annihilated and seek to forgive them and restore them as you have been forgiven, then, THEN will Yehovah hear your prayers and fight your fights.

I have kind of drifted away from this fasting point. Do we fast on Atonement or not?

Step back again and look at the big picture. We are putting Satan away on the day of Atonement. It is a very big deal. You are taking part in the putting away of the most powerful angel Yehovah ever created, an Archangel who stood over the mercy seat.

Mat 17:14  And when they came to the crowd, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15  Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and grievously vexed; for oftentimes he falls into the fire, and often into the water. 16  And I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him. 17  Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him here to Me. 18  And Jesus rebuked the demon, and he departed out of him. And the child was cured from that very hour. 19  Then the disciples came to Jesus apart, and said, Why could we not cast him out? 20  And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Move from here to there. And it shall move. And nothing shall be impossible to you.

Mat 17:21  However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

This word fasting is

G3521     ne?steia   nace-ti’-ah

From G3522; abstinence (from lack of food, or voluntary and religious); specifically the fast of the Day of Atonement: – fast (-ing.)

The casting out of this demon could not be done without fasting, as on the day of Atonement. The same thing we are told to do when we will be casting out Satan on the Day of Atonement.

Brethren, on this coming day of Atonement may your name be found in the book of life. It will be if you can forgive those who have hurt you and if you seek for them to be in the Kingdom as you are to be. They are possessed by demonic forces and could not help being the way they were. You can only cast those demonic forces out of your loved ones, or former loved ones, the same way we can only cast out Satan – on the Day of Atonement with prayers and fasting, the abstaining from food and water from sunset the 9th of the 7th month until sunset the 10th of the 7th month.

Will you now forgive those who have hurt you? Will you fast on the Day of Atonement? May your name be found in the book of life.
