Shanah Tovah! 5845 Years After Creation, The Sabbatical Year, The Year of Release

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

1st day of the First month 5845 years after creation
The Month of Aviv in the Sabbatical Year
The Second Sabbatical Year of the 119th Jubilee Cycle

March 29, 2009

Shanah Tovah!
Happy New Year!

Shabbat Shalom Brethren,

Shanah Tovah to you all as we now begin our New Year, Rosh Hashanah, The Sabbatical Year, the 2nd Sabbatical year in this the last Jubilee Cycle, according to the method Yahweh uses to determine time. Exodus 12:2 With no one calling in to report that the Crescent Moon was spotted, due to the cloud covering over Israel, the month is 30 days by default, making the evening of March 28th and the day of March 29th the first day of the New Year. The day is reckoned from sunset to sunset.

We now count 14 days from this day to arrive at April 10- April 11

  • Rosh Hashanah (Head of the Year): sunset March 28 thru sunset March 29 (day after Shabbat).
  • Pesach (Passover): Sunset April 10- Sunset April/11 (Shabbat).
  • First Day of Unleavened: sunset April 11 thru sunset April 12 (day after Shabbat).
  • Omer (Wave Sheaf): Morning of the First Day of Unleavened Bread April 12.
  • Last Day of Unleavened: sunset April 17 thru sunset April 18 (day of Weekly Shabbat).
  • Shavuot (Pentecost): sunset May 30 thru sunset May 31 (day after Shabbat, Sunday).

I have also just been notified by the host of my group where we have been meeting for the High days that they will be keeping the Spring Holy Days according to the Karaite method. This leaves me with no place to keep the Spring Holy Days at the time appointed. This is why I have asked for any in Israel to contact me if they would consider allowing me to attend with them.
Now let me explain briefly the methods used to keep the Holy Days.

The Hebrew Calendar as I have been explaining these past couple of months is a calculated calendar and is based on the moon when it is in conjunction. This method can be calculated years in advance and relies on no one sighting the moon.

The Dates those who use this method (Most Jews, and most of the Churches of God) will be as follows

  • New Year was March 26 2009
  • Passover is April 8, 2009
  • Days of Unleavened Bread April 9-15 2009
  • Pentecost May 31, 2009
  • Feast of Trumpets Sept 19, 2009
  • Day of Atonement Sept 28, 2009
  • Feast of Tabernacles October 3-9 2009
  • Last Great Day October 10, 2009
  • You can view their schedule at http://www.ucg.org/resources/calendar.htm
  • This is all nice and neat and you can plan you events quite easily.

With the Karaite’s potential visibility some of them begin the month when the New Moon was potentially visible even though it was not seen due to clouds as is the case this year. This effectively is another calculated method of determining the beginning of the month. We know it is calculated by the following statement, ‘the Moon may be visible from 18:58 till 19:03 and will be very easy to see’.

You only had a 5 minute window in which to sight the moon. As of this writing there have not been any witnesses to confirm the moon was there.

Based on the potential visibility of the moon the following dates are set for the spring Holy Days.

  • New Years day was March 27, March 28 2009.
  • Passover will be April 10, April 11, 2009
  • Dates taken from http://www.karaite-korner.org/holiday_dates.shtml
  • 1st Day of Unleavened Bread is April 11, 2009
  • 7th Day of Unleavened Bread is April 17, 2009
  • Shavuot is May 31, 2009

All of the Biblical Holy Days begin at sunset on the day before the date listed and continue for 24 hours until sunset on the following day. For example, if 1st Unleavened Bread is listed as April 11 this means that work is forbidden from sunset on April 10 to sunset on April 11.

With no witnesses to come forward and sight the New Moon on the 29th day of the month then the month automatically becomes 30 days in length. This is the method that Norman Willis of Nazarene Israel, and Michael Rood of Rood Awakening uses and others. As do I at Sightedmoon.com.

Using this method with no one having seen the New Moon, the month is now 30 days in length. This makes the 1st day of the New Year, from Sunset March 28, to Sunset March 29, 2009.

As Norman Willis has now stated in his latest letter, here are the official dates for the spring Holy Days.

Thanks to Joseph Dumond of www.sightedmoon.com for picking out a second small typo in the Spring Festival Dates chart. If YHWH wills, it is now corrected. Please discard the earlier charts, and use only the one marked “v1.2”. And thank you for proving all things.

Unless it turns out that the first crescent sliver of the new moon actually was sighted from the Land of Israel on 3/27 (which seems unlikely), this month defaults to the standard of 30 days. This means that the first Hebrew month begins at sunset 3/28 (close of Shabbat), rather than the evening starting Shabbat.

Counting 14 days (two weeks) from the close of Shabbat means that the Passover will also fall on the Shabbat. The First Day of Unleavened Bread and the Wave Sheaf Offering will take place the following day (on the first day of the week).

Unless new information comes in from the Land of Israel, the Spring Festival Dates for 2009 are as follows (v1.2):

  • Rosh Hashanah (Head of the Year): sunset 3/28 thru sunset 3/29 (day after Shabbat).
  • Pesach (Passover): afternoon of 4/11 (Shabbat).
  • First Day of Unleavened: sunset 4/11 thru sunset 4/12 (day after Shabbat).
  • Omer (Wave Sheaf): Afternoon of the First Day of Unleavened Bread.
  • Last Day of Unleavened: sunset 4/17 thru sunset 4/18 (Shabbat).
  • Shavuot (Pentecost): sunset 5/30 thru sunset 5/31 (day after Shabbat).
  • The dates for the Fall Feasts cannot be determined precisely until the new moon of the seventh month is seen from the Land of Israel.

For those who are wondering, the rabbis declare Rosh Hashanah in the seventh month due to a very complicated argument based in the Talmud. However, in Scripture, the Head of the Year always begins with the first month (and not the seventh). This is explained in The Torah Calendar study (attached), in the chapter titled, “Aviv Barley and the Head of the Year.”

Additionally, the Torah Calendar Study explains why the Equinox is irrelevant, and why only sightings from the Land of Israel count.

The Spring Festival dates on the Torah Calendar are ‘two days behind’ the Rabbinical Calendar dates, and ‘one day behind’ the Karaite Calendar. (In other words, the Rabbinical Calendar is two days early this year, and the Karaite Calendar is one day early.)

When Yahshua said in Mathew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
He was in fact telling us that you cannot know when the Feast of Trumpets will be, which is the Day of His return, because it is determined by the Sighted moon and you have an excellent example right now of just how unpredictable that time is, which in fact confirms which method you should be using. But you have to decide.

Again brethren you must prove all things. You must now decide which method you will use. And on top of this you must also decide if this is or is not a Sabbatical year as I have been claiming. You are not to believe any man. You must prove it to yourself beyond all doubts.

Your decision on what you choose for the Holy Days and the Sabbatical year will soon be the deciding factor in whether or not you live or die, so choose wisely. The Curses of Lev. 26 are coming whether you believe it or not.

Instead of saving this information until next week I will share these stories with you now and allow you time to consider how far along the prophecy chronology we really are. Stay tuned and after Passover I will show you even more detailed prophecies so that you will know with confidence exactly where we are in relation the to the coming tribulation and the return of Yahshua.

We have removed over 3000 names from the News Letter list. Now as we begin this New Sabbatical year would be the best time for your loved ones to sign up for the News Letters. What I am about to show you in the weeks and months to come, has not been taught to you by anyone else. Yet these prophecies are right there in your own bible to read, and we will read them and you will understand exactly where we are in the Chronological order of Prophecies leading up to the end. It is only by understanding the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles that these prophecies come to light.

Prophetic fulfillment of prophecies is happening all around you right now and many of you are missing them. It is now time to make them plain to you. Stay tuned as we reveal exactly how this final Jubilee Cycle is going to be played out. AS you see these things happen then you will know that those things which we will tell you about will also come to pass.

As you read the following keep in mind this scripture from Deuteronomy 15: 1 “At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release of debts. 2 And this is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called the Lord’s release. 3 Of a foreigner you may require it; but you shall give up your claim to what is owed by your brother, 4 except when there may be no poor among you; for the Lord will greatly bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance– 5 only if you carefully obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe with care all these commandments which I command you today. 6 For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.

What if Treasury Held an Auction and No One Showed Up?

by Mike Larson

Friday March 29, 2009
The U.K. Treasury held a bond auction on Wednesday morning. On the offer were 1.75 billion pounds ($2.55 billion ) worth of 40-year “Gilts” — the U.K. equivalent of U.S. Treasuries. There was just one problem …
Buyers went on strike! They offered to purchase just 1.63 billion pounds ($2.37 billion) of debt.
That was the first “failed” auction of traditional debt in the U.K going all the way back to 1995. And the market’s reaction was both swift and severe: Gilt prices plunged and interest rates surged.

Why should you care?
Well …
Like the U.S., the U.K. is bailing out its major financial institutions. It nationalized mortgage lender Northern Rock, bailed out Royal Bank of Scotland to the tune of $38.6 billion, and agreed to take as much as a 75 percent stake in Lloyds Banking Group.

Like the U.S., the U.K. is running huge deficits. It has racked up a record 75.2 billion pounds ($109.2 billion) in red ink in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year … more than triple the year-earlier 23 billion pounds ($33.4 billion). This puts the U.K. deficit on track to hit a whopping 11 percent of gross domestic product by 2010.

Like the U.S., the U.K. is borrowing gigantic sums of money as a result. The government wants to sell a record 146 billion pounds ($212 billion) worth of debt in the current fiscal year. That should drive the U.K.’s national debt to a record 1 trillion pounds ($1.45 trillion).

Like the U.S., the U.K. is engaging in a policy of “quantitative easing.” The Bank of England recently announced plans to print money and buy as much as 75 billion pounds ($108.9 billion) of corporate and government bonds.

In other words, the U.K. and the U.S. are doing many of the same things … making many of the same policy mistakes … and relying on the kindness of strangers to fund the biggest deficits of all time. Will the day soon come when the U.S. Treasury holds an auction, and no one shows up?
Bank on it!

“Dangerous Unintended Consequences”

That’s the title of the white paper Martin just presented to key media and policy makers in Washington. And it couldn’t have been better timed, given this week’s gilt auction failure.

As we first warned in a September 25, 2008, press release, the U.S. government is biting off way more than it can chew. The Treasury, Federal Reserve, FDIC, and Congress have now lent, spent, guaranteed, or committed roughly $13 trillion to bail out the financial industry and attack the credit crisis.
But policymakers are committing these enormous resources in a misguided way. They’re showing no willpower to make the difficult choices needed to properly resolve the crisis. They refuse to allow large institutions to fail and see them through the receivership process. Instead, they’re opting to prop them up with endless injections of taxpayer money.

As a result, they are prolonging the economic downturn. They’re also transforming a Wall Street debt crisis into a potential debt crisis in Washington. Already, the cost of insuring U.S. sovereign debt against default is surging. And while no U.S. debt auction has failed — YET — I believe it’s only a matter of time.
Look, the amount of money we’re planning to spend in the coming couple of years is simply astronomical. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is already estimating the deficit will total a whopping $1.85 trillion, or 13.1 percent of GDP, this year and $1.38 trillion, or 10 percent, next year. These are the worst readings recorded in the post-World War II era!

But we don’t have that kind of money in the kitty. So we have to raise it by selling debt — massive amounts of debt. In fact some weeks, including this one, Treasury is selling almost $100 billion in longer-term debt. That’s the most in U.S. history. And total net borrowing for the current fiscal year could rise as high as $2.5 trillion! That will drive our national debt load ($11,041,711,544,305.34 as of Monday) even higher.

What this Means
For Long-Term Bonds

Foreign investors have already started unloading “agency” debt — bonds sold by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In addition, China has warned that it’s getting nervous about its massive U.S. Treasury holdings.

So is it too much to imagine that U.S. bonds will soon have their day of reckoning? I sure don’t think so.

And yet, Washington and Wall Street keep whistling past the graveyard on this score. They figure: “Well, no auctions have failed yet, so none ever will. Full speed ahead!”

We all know how that dangerous, short-sighted thinking paid off during the housing bubble. Let’s hope our policymakers take a longer-term view this time around. We simply have to figure out a way to get us off this unsustainable debt treadmill … before it’s too late. In the meantime, continue to stay the heck away from long-term Treasuries.
Until next time,
Mike

Obama Introduces First Budget, to Make Health Care More Affordable

Posted on 26 February 2009 at 3:18 pm in Business by Hercules K

Obama today announced his first federal long term 10-year budget. The budget calls for $3.6 trillion in total spending for 2010, while it believes it will receive $2.4 trillion in revenue.

The budget forecasts the deficit will top $1.75 trillion (12.3% of U.S. GDP) in 2009 and hopes to slash that in half by 2013. The White House is forecasting unemployment to top 8.1% in 2009 and fall by about 5.5% by 2014. The budget also assumes real GDP to fall by 1.2% in 2009, but grow substantially by 3.2, 4, and 4.6% over the next three years respectively.

Obama recently said, “What I won’t do is sacrifice investments that will make America stronger, more competitive and more prosperous in the 21st century,”
Obama’s budget earmarks $634 billion for health care to make it more affordable, by increasing taxes on the wealthy. The budget also calls for increasing the current 15% capital gains tax substantially for hedge fund and private managers. The budget also commits $150 billion for renewable energy. It also calls to make the Making Work Pay credit provide up to $400 per worker and up to $800 per working family permanent.

Under the budget, Obama also hopes to generate up to $4.8 billion in revenue from wireless spectrum fees and up to an additional $1.4 billion in spectrum auctions.
The White House ambiguously estimates the plan will “generate or save” up to 3.5 million jobs.

The closing document agreed on by European Union leaders gathered in Brussels reads like a German wish list. Chancellor Merkel was able to convince the EU to focus on financial market regulation—and to resist new stimulus programs.

Chancellor Angela Merkel, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Finance Minister

Peer Steinbrück looked immensely pleased with themselves at the Friday press conference that closed this week’s European Union summit in Brussels. It’s remarkable how far the world has come in two years, Steinbrück said. Much of the agenda promoted in vain by Germany in early 2007—when Berlin held the rotating presidency of the G-8—has now become consensus, he pointed out smugly. …

The European Council makes its priorities clear in the 22-page document, especially when it comes to the financial crisis. Much of it is dedicated to the Europeans’ demand for increased regulation of the financial markets, with passages devoted to economic stimulus looking truncated by comparison. “Considerable fiscal stimulus,” worth €400 billion, has already been committed to the EU’s overall economy, the Council says—and placing this point high in the document seems intended to quell criticism from the U.S. that Europe has been too tentative. Merkel once again emphasized that Europe has “more than fulfilled” its aims.

But the EU has avoided pledging any further stimulus measures. Instead, the document asks the bloc’s 27 member states to return “to positions consistent with sustainable public finances as soon as possible.” That long-time obsession of Germany’s, the Growth and Stability Pact—which requires EU states to ensure that public debt does not exceed 3 percent of gross domestic product—is to remain the standard for European economies. …

The EU representatives will travel to London bearing what might be called German priorities. “We have the chance now to tame wild growth on the financial markets,” said
Foreign Minister Steinmeier. “We should not let it go by.” …

The USA and Britain are drowning in debt and looking for more, which they cannot service now. On the other hand Europe led by Germany is demanding for increased regulation of the financial markets, with passages devoted to economic stimulus looking truncated by comparison.

I have shared with you before and do so now again, that the USA and Britain are Israel. They are the leading tribes of the lost ten tribes that went into captivity. Below are the blessings and cursing of Deuteronomy 28 that you should read and see where we are in relation to what they say.

I have also been telling you that Europe is the Beast Power and is rising up even as we speak. When you consider what Germany is doing with the current crisis compared to the USA and Britain, you must stop and think of Rev.13:17. Add to this the news this past week from the

U.S. Backing for World Currency Stuns Markets

U.S. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner shocked global markets by revealing that Washington is “quite open” to Chinese proposals for the gradual development of a global reserve currency run by the International Monetary Fund.

The dollar plunged instantly against the euro, yen, and sterling as the comments flashed across trading screens. David Bloom, currency chief at hsbc, said the apparent policy shift amounts to an earthquake in geofinance.

“The mere fact that the U.S. treasury secretary is even entertaining thoughts that the dollar may cease being the anchor of the global monetary system has caused consternation,” he said.

Mr. Geithner later qualified his remarks, insisting that the dollar would remain the “world’s dominant reserve currency … for a long period of time,” but the seeds of doubt have been sown.

Revelation 13:11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Deuteronomy 28:1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. 7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you. 9 The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. 11 And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. 14 So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: 16 Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country. 17 Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 18 Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 19 Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. 20 “The Lord will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me. 21 The Lord will make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess. 22 The Lord will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish. 23 And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron. 24 The Lord will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed. 25 The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them; and you shall become troublesome to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 Your carcasses shall be food for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and no one shall frighten them away. 27 The Lord will strike you with the boils of Egypt, with tumors, with the scab, and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed. 28 The Lord will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of heart. 29 And you shall grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways; you shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you. 30 You shall betroth a wife, but another man shall lie with her; you shall build a house, but you shall not dwell in it; you shall plant a vineyard, but shall not gather its grapes. 31 Your ox shall be slaughtered before your eyes, but you shall not eat of it; your donkey shall be violently taken away from before you, and shall not be restored to you; your sheep shall be given to your enemies, and you shall have no one to rescue them. 32 Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall look and fail with longing for them all day long; and there shall be no strength in your hand. 33 A nation whom you have not known shall eat the fruit of your land and the produce of your labor, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually. 34 So you shall be driven mad because of the sight which your eyes see. 35 The Lord will strike you in the knees and on the legs with severe boils which cannot be healed, and from the sole of your foot to the top of your head. 36 The Lord will bring you and the king whom you set over you to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods–wood and stone. 37 And you shall become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all nations where the Lord will drive you. 38 You shall carry much seed out to the field but gather little in, for the locust shall consume it. 39 You shall plant vineyards and tend them, but you shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them. 40 You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olives shall drop off. 41 You shall beget sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours; for they shall go into captivity. 42 Locusts shall consume all your trees and the produce of your land. 43 The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. 45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you. 46 And they shall be upon you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever. 47 “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The Lord will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you. 52 They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you at all your gates throughout all your land which the Lord your God has given you. 53 You shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom the Lord your God has given you, in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you. 54 The sensitive and very refined man among you will be hostile toward his brother, toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the rest of his children whom he leaves behind, 55 so that he will not give any of them the flesh of his children whom he will eat, because he has nothing left in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates. 56 The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and sensitivity, will refuse F26 to the husband of her bosom, and to her son and her daughter, 57 her placenta which comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of everything in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates. 58 “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, 59 then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues–great and prolonged plagues–and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60 Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed. 62 You shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven in multitude, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. 63 And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess. 64 “Then the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known–wood and stone. 65 And among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and anguish of soul. 66 Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. 67 In the morning you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were morning!’ because of the fear which terrifies your heart, and because of the sight which your eyes see. 68 And the Lord will take you back to Egypt in ships, by the way of which I said to you, ‘You shall never see it again.’ And there you shall be offered for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”
Shalom
