News Letter 5846-024
18th day of the 5th month 5846 years after creation
The 5th Month in of the first year of the third Sabbatical Year
The Third Sabbatical Year of the 119th Jubilee Cycle
July 31, 2010,
Shabbat Shalom Family,
We now have just 9 more weeks until the Feast of Sukkot and the other fall Holy Days or Set apart days. Have you begun to plan to attend this year somewhere? For many of you this will be a new experience; Your first one. This is exciting. It also just so happens to be our weekly study of the 613 laws.
Leviticus 23: 23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying , 24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying , In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. 25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 26 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying , 27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. 29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. 33 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying , 34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying , The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. 35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein. 37 These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day: 38 Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.

What Does The Word “Convocation” Mean In Scripture?
by Steve Bruns, May 12, 2006
Edited, September 16, 2006
Strong gives this word, convocation (miqra), the number “H4744”
According to Strong’s Concordance it occurrences 23 times in the KJV, as follows:
âą convocation, 16:
o exo_12:16 (2), lev_23:3, lev_23:7-8 (2), lev_23:21, lev_23:24, lev_23:27, lev_23:35-36 (2), num_28:18, num_28:25-26 (2), num_29:1, num_29:7, num_29:12
âą convocations, 3:
o lev_23:2, lev_23:4, lev_23:37
âą assemblies, 2:
o isa_1:13, isa_4:5
âą calling, 1:
o num_10:2
âą reading, 1:
o neh_8:8
âThe New Strongâs Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of The Bibleâ states:
â4744 {23x} miqra, mik-raw; from 7121; something called out, i.e. a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal: — assemblies {2x}, calling {1x}, convocation {1x}, reading {1x}.
miqra means public worship service; convocation. (1) the word implies the product of an official summons to worship (âconvocationâ) for the reading and exposition of the law. the day was to be kept free from secular work and to be regarded as sacred by divine command. (2) in lev. 23:2 it refers to sabbaths as âconvocation daysâ: âspeak unto the children of israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of the lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feast.â see twot–2063d; bdb–597a, 896d.â
You are commanded to Miqra; to assemble together; to meet in a common place for the purpose of worshiping Yahovah and for reading and exposition of the Torah. You are to keep the Feast for 7 days and then there is the 8th Day feast after. So plan to attend for all eight days. The First day is Holy and the 8th day is Holy.
So again I ask you, have you made plans to attend with a group of people somewhere? Below are a couple of lists and a search phrase you can use to find a place online close to you all around the world.
If there is a group who is meeting near you then go and meet with them no matter which moon you use to determine the beginning of the month. In Jerusalem we have people using the conjunction moon and the sighted moon at the same Feast. We may discuss the topic but we most certainly do not let it separate us from meeting together. So on the list below are many of the Churches of God meeting places. Go and meet some new brethren and maybe you can share The Prophecies of Abraham with them. But go and keep the Feast the whole 8 days and have fun. Even Yahovah has planned for you to have an annual time where you forget about work and come and worship Him with like minded people. Isnât that awesome, we are commanded to have a holiday for a week.

Why is the USA having so much bad luck lately? 9/11, Katrina, The Gulf Oil Spill, and then this week another gas pipeline was ripped apart at the mouth of a river in Louisiana, then this week also an oil pipeline broke apart in Michigan spilling oil down the river there towards Lake Michigan.
There was also the following in the news this week; Forest fires in LA and in BC, another oil pipeline in China broke and the hottest recorded temperature in Moscow. Also Wildfires sweeping Russia kill at least 25, Massive flooding in Pakistan has killed at least 430 people as monsoon rains continue to bloat rivers, submerge villages and trigger landslides, according to rescue and government officials.

On top of this in the news on July 29, 2010 A new report by 300 scientists has flagged the past decade as the hottest on record and compiled 10 “unmistakable” indicators that the world is getting warmer. http://www.cbc.ca/mobile/text/story_news-topstories.html?/ept/html/story/2010/07/29/climate-change-study-noaa.html
Also in the news was this report this week; The study found that the world is losing an average of one per cent of its phytoplankton each year, and the northern hemisphere has lost roughly 40 per cent since 1950.
Microscopic marine algae called phytoplankton that produce half the world’s oxygen and support most ocean life have been declining dramatically over the past century, Canadian researchers say.

The installation of oil and Gas Pipelines is what my family has done now for almost 50 years. As many of the older pipeline rust out you can expect more and more breaks to happen all over. But each utility tries to fix them before you ever hear of it. It is bad publicity for them as BP has lost billions in the gulf and on the stock market. This is why Enbridge in Michigan is trying to cover itself in that oil break. But Enbridge has many more pipelines that will rupture due to age and lack of maintenance. It is a matter of when they will rupture not if.
In British Columbia in 2007 The B.C. Oil and Gas commission recorded 320 incidents last year, 10 per cent of which were a threat to people and the environment,

One lady wrote to tell me Joseph, I just watched the Jubilee DVD – EXCELLENT!
And another wrote to say Joseph – received Prophecies of Abraham, I haven’t been able to put it down.
These two and all of those who have read the book The Prophecies of Abraham and watched the DVD are coming to realize why the USA is so unlucky and what is coming next just by understanding the Sabbatical cycles and when they come and what the curses are for not keeping them. If you have not yet done so, then what are you waiting for? Watch the video online and order the book and stop guessing about Prophecy and begin to know. You are in the last days and you do need to know!
Last week I sent out a warning of the current financial mess of the world and US economy and how it is related to that of the Great Depression and the German Weimar hyperinflation of the 1920âs and 30âs. I was comparing what I could see from history with our current situation just from my vantage point.
Upon sending that out I received an email from Steven Collins author of a number of books about the lost ten Tribes of Israel. He wrote;
Joseph,
I agree with your analysis. Further evidence of the real state of affairs in our economy is available by looking at the “real” inflation and unemployment numbers posted at www.shadowstats.com. This site exposes the “official” statistics reported by government agencies as being very much in error. I have taken the liberty of including below my article on the need for believers to take seriously the biblical warnings about the latter days and prepare as best they can for what lies ahead of us.
Steve
http://www.stevenmcollins.com/html/hard_times.html
This week I would like you read the article Steven has offered on being prepared. I do not presume Stephen to agree with me on all things. But on this we do agree. You need to prepare now for what is coming.
www.sightedmoon.com has shown you the Sabbatical and Jubilee messages and the Chronology of Prophecies that this teaching shows you. Basically the curses Yahovah has told us about in Lev 26. We showed you the years they would come and what to look for. We are currently in the first year of third Sabbatical cycle. This cycle is to have Earthquakes and Pestilences and famines during the next 7 years.
The question above of why is the USA having such bad luck is answered in the DVD and the book The Prophecies of Abraham. Yahovah has removed His protective hedge from around us.
Then in the year of 2009 we learned about the Prophecies of Abraham  and had to publish this information in a book form so that you could understand it all. This book shows you from history as proof using the Sabbatical and Jubilee years that 2010 is the year to return home to Israel.
Last week I warned you about the soon coming hyperinflation and showed you an article where the Chinese are already spending huge amounts of US dollars to buy up key minerals around the world that are needed to keep every army up to date in modern technology. The Chinese now control these entire precious minerals.
I then asked you again to consider investing in farming and business investments in Israel to prepare for the coming time when you will need a place to stay and food to eat and a job to go to. I do so now again.
In the URL that Stephen has mentioned is another about Hyperinflation report which you can read at http://www.shadowstats.com/article/hyperinflation-2010
In this article is the following paragraph;
The intensifying economic and solvency crises, and the responses to both by the U.S. government and the Federal Reserve in the last two years, have exacerbated the governmentâs solvency issues and moved forward my timing estimation for the hyperinflation to the next five years, from the 2010 to 2018 timing range estimated in the prior report. The U.S. government and Federal Reserve already have committed the system to this course through the easy politics of a bottomless pocketbook, the servicing of big-moneyed special interests, gross mismanagement, and a deliberate and ongoing effort to debase the U.S. currency. Accordingly, risks are particularly high of the hyperinflation crisis breaking within the next year.
The article continues;
The U.S. has no way of avoiding a financial Armageddon. Bankrupt sovereign states most commonly use the currency printing press as a solution to not having enough money to cover obligations. The alternative would be for the U.S. to renege on its existing debt and obligations, a solution for modern sovereign states rarely seen outside of governments overthrown in revolution, and a solution with no happier ending than simply printing the needed money. With the creation of massive amounts of new fiat dollars (not backed by gold or silver) will come the eventual destruction of the value of the U.S. dollar and related dollar-denominated paper assets.
What lies ahead will be extremely difficult, painful and unhappy times for many in the United States. The functioning and adaptation of the U.S. economy and financial markets to a hyperinflation likely would be particularly disruptive. Trouble could range from turmoil in the food distribution chain to electronic cash and credit systems unable to handle rapidly changing circumstances. The situation quickly would devolve from a deepening depression, to an intensifying hyperinflationary great depression.
Further down the article it says the following;
While the official peak-to-trough contraction in the current downturn, per official real GDP is 3.8% (second-quarter 2009), most of the better economic series are showing contractions of greater than 10% (depression range), such as retail sales and industrial production, while others are showing contractions of greater than 25% (great depression range), such as new orders for durable goods and various statistics indicating the level of housing activity. Revisions to the GDP over several years eventually should show the current level of GDP activity to have been at depression level. The evolving depression quickly will move to great depression status, at such time as the hyperinflation hits, since that will be extremely disruptive to the conduct of normal commerce.
The Article further says that;
…the federal government and the Federal Reserve in untenable positions, where they cannot easily or rapidly address the underlying problems, even if standard economic stimuli would work. From the standpoint of the federal government, traditional fiscal stimulus in the form of tax cuts or increased federal spending have reached their practical limits, with the actual annual budget deficit running out of control at roughly $9.0 trillion per year. Yet, that likely will not keep political Washington from pushing its deficit spending until the markets rebel. After all, there is an election in 2010. It is that market rebellion, however, that will set the hyperinflation stage.
From the Fedâs standpoint, it can neither stimulate the economy nor contain inflation. Lowering rates has run its course and done little to stimulate the structurally-impaired economy, and raising rates may become necessary in defense of the dollar. Similarly, raising rates will do little to contain a non-demand driven inflation, such as seen developing in the current circumstance so heavily affected by oil prices. Continued efforts to debase the dollar should be successful, but not in stimulating economic activity, only in triggering an accelerating pace of inflation.
With the economy in depression, hyperinflation kicking in quickly should pull the economy into a great depression, since uncontained inflation is likely to bring normal commercial activity to a halt.
As to the fate of the developing U.S. great depression, it will encompass the fire of a hyperinflation, instead of the ice of deflation seen in the major U.S. depressions prior to World War II. What promises hyperinflation this time is the lack of monetary discipline formerly imposed on the system by the gold standard, a fiscally bankrupt federal government and a Federal Reserve dedicated to debasing the U.S. dollar. The Fedâs efforts at liquefying the system have been extreme, yet broad liquidity is in monthly â soon to be annual â decline. Where the Fedâs systemic actions have generated temporary apparent systemic stability, the weakening annual growth in the broad money supply, and continued extreme Fed efforts at systemic liquefaction, suggest that the systemic solvency crisis is far from over.
The following two graphs measure the level of consumer prices since 1665 in the American Colonies and later the United States. The first graph shows what appears to be a fairly stable level of prices up to the founding of the Federal Reserve in 1913 (began activity in 1914) and Franklin Rooseveltâs abandoning of the gold standard in 1933. Then, inflation takes off in a manner not seen in the prior 250 years, and at an exponential rate when viewed using the SGS-Alternate Measure of Consumer Prices in the last several decades. The price levels shown prior to 1913 were constructed by Robert Sahr of Oregon State University. Price levels since 1913 either are Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) or SGS based, as indicated.
The magnitude of the increase in price levels in the last 50 years or so, however, visually masks the inflation volatility of the earlier years. That early volatility becomes evident in the second graph, where the CPI history is plotted using a logarithmic scale. Seeing such detail is a particular benefit of using such a plot, although the full scope of what is happening may be lost to those not used to thinking log-based.
Indicated by the newly visible detail in the second graph are the regular periods of inflation â usually seen around wars â offset by periods of deflation, up through the Great Depression. Particular inflation spikes can be seen at the time of the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War, World War I and World War II (which lacked an ensuing, offsetting deflation).
Keep in mind brethren that in just seven years we will be in the Sabbatical cycle of war; A time when the USA and the UK will be defeated.
This article also said;
The governmentâs finances not only are out of control, but the actual deficit is not containable. Put into perspective, if the government were to raise taxes so as to seize 100% of all wages, salaries and corporate profits, it still would be showing an annual deficit using GAAP accounting on a consistent basis. In like manner, given current revenues, if it stopped spending every penny (including defense and homeland security) other than for Social Security and Medicare obligations, the government still would be showing an annual deficit. Further, the U.S. has no potential way to grow out of this shortfall.
U.S. federal obligations are so huge versus the national GDP that the countryâs finances look more like those of a banana republic than the worldâs premiere financial power and home to the worldâs primary reserve currency, the U.S. dollar. Total federal debt and obligations at the end of the 2009 fiscal year on September 30th, likely were close to $75 trillion, or more than five times total U.S. GDP. The $75 trillion includes roughly $12 trillion in gross federal debt, with the balance reflecting the net present value of unfunded obligations.[Keep in mind President Obama had to spend much more since 2009]
Even with the governmentâs spending, debt and obligations running far beyond the ability of the government to cover with taxes or the political willingness of the government to cut entitlement spending, the inevitable inflationary collapse, based solely on these funding needs, possibly could have been pushed well into the next decade. Yet, the printing presses already are running, and the Fed is working actively to debase the U.S. dollar. Actions already taken to contain the systemic solvency crisis and to stimulate the economy, plus the ongoing devastating impact of a severe economic contraction on tax revenues, have set the stage for a much earlier crisis. Risks are high for the hyperinflation beginning to break in the year ahead; it likely cannot be avoided beyond 2014.
It is this environment of rapid fiscal deterioration and related massive funding needs, the U.S. dollar remains open to a rapid and massive decline and to the dumping of U.S. Treasuries. The Federal Reserve would be forced to monetize significant sums of Treasury debt, triggering the early phases of a monetary inflation. Under such circumstance multi-trillion dollar deficits rapidly would feed into a vicious, self-feeding cycle of currency debasement and hyperinflation.
Last week we talked about the Weimer Hyperinflation. This week we are again warning you about what is coming the USA. For a more current nation that has had hyperinflation, take a look at Zimbabwe which just went through this very thing last year.
Hyperinflation in Zimbabwe, the former Rhodesia, was a quadrillion times worse than it was in Weimar Germany. Zimbabwe went through a number of years of high inflation, with an accelerating hyperinflation from 2006 to 2009, when the currency was abandoned. Through three devaluations, excess zeros repeatedly were lopped off notes as high as 100 trillion Zimbabwe dollars.
The cumulative devaluation of the Zimbabwe dollar was such that a stack of 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (26 zeros) two dollar bills (if they were printed) in the peak hyperinflation would have be needed to equal in value what a single original Zimbabwe two-dollar bill of 1978 had been worth. Such a pile of bills literally would be light years high, stretching from the Earth to the Andromeda Galaxy.
In early-2009, the governor of the Zimbabwe Reserve Bank indicated he felt his actions in printing money were vindicated by the recent actions of the U.S. Federal Reserve. If the U.S. went through a hyperinflation like that of Zimbabweâs, total U.S. federal debt and obligations (roughly $75 trillion with unfunded liabilities) could be paid off for much less than a current penny.
Once again in The Prophecies of Abraham I show you that in the fourth year of Abraham arriving in Canaan Nations from the North invade and attack all those around him. Yet Abraham is protected in the midst of this.
The next Sabbatical cycle starting in 2017 is prophesied to be the one when Israel is to be destroyed. By Israel I mean the USA and the UK and her commonwealth nations. That year is 2020.
Brethren you can read these scriptures I have shown you, which show you the Sabbatical Cycles from the Creation of Adam up to our time. You can read the curses of Lev 26 and then see on the nightly news how these things are coming to pass. Not everyone agrees with every aspect of my teachings on the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles or the Prophecies of Abraham, but almost all of them will admit they are hard to ignore; that I do make an extremely compelling case.
Having shown you these things and now having read what Stephen Collins has said about being prepared once you are warned, will you consider our request to invest in Israel now.
We read in Proverbs 31 of a woman and most people think of her as the wife we want to be or want our spouses to be. But stop and think, this is the bride of Yeshua, it is us who are Israel. So now read what we, Israel, are to be doing to help look after our Husbands family and children.
10 Who does find a capable wife? For she is worth far more than rubies. 11 The heart of her husband shall trust her, And he has no lack of gain. 12 She shall do him good, and not evil, All the days of her life. 13 She shall seek wool and flax, And with delight she works with her hands. 14 She shall be as the ships of Tarshish, She brings in her food from afar. 15 She also rises while it is still night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her girls. 16 She shall consider a field and buy it; From her profits she shall plant a vineyard. 17 She shall gird herself with strength, And strengthen her arms. 18 She shall taste when her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out by night. 19 She shall stretch out her hands to the distaff, And her hand shall hold the spindle. 20 She shall extend her hand to the poor, And she shall reach out her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is dressed in scarlet. 22 She shall make tapestry for herself; She is dressed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. 24 She shall make fine linen and sell them, And shall give girdles for the merchants. 25 Strength and splendour are her garments, And she rejoices in time to come. 26 She shall open her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the Torah of kindness. 27 She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children shall rise up and call her blessed; Her husband too, and he praises her: 29 âMany daughters have done nobly, But you have risen over them all.â 30 Loveliness is deceptive And prettiness is vain, A woman who fears ???? is to be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.
Let her works praise her in the gates. That means brethren that this woman which is a symbol of Israel does a work with her hand preparing wool and flax. That means she has sheep and fields of Flax to harvest, she also trades goods with merchants from other lands to acquire food. She purchases land to grow a vineyard and she makes her own clothes from the wool she has. Her children are protected in winter and she looks after the poor. We do not have the luxury to be idle, we need to be about our Fathers business.
In the movie Schindlerâs List, Schindler tells the Jewish business men to give him all their money so he can buy a factory before the war breaks out. These men are now trapped and cannot get out of Germany. If they keep the money for themselves what do they have? The Germans will take it and kill them; they can no longer do business in Germany after Kristallnacht. If they give it all to this stranger what assurances do they have? None.
They decide to give him the money and Schindler invested it in a factory. He employs all of those who gave him their money. As the factory profits Schindler buys more Jews and puts them to work in the factory. Those who gave the money worked in the factory and to the best of Schindlerâs ability he protected them all from the Nazi death machine. At the end of it all they were still alive and it was these same people who went to the newly created State of Israel in 1948.
Brethren you have the warnings of what is coming and if you watch the DVD of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years you will know when. You can see the writing on the wall about the current USA financial picture. If you read the article last week and the one this week you will see that hyperinflation is coming to the USA.
http://makewealthhistory.org/2009/02/13/the-worlds-most-indebted-countries/
The worldâs most indebted countries
Posted on February 13, 2009 by Jeremy
When you think of the most indebted countries, who do you think of? You probably think of African countries such as Ethiopia, Malawi or Chad.
Those countries are all on the IMFâs list of heavily indebted countries, all places that are struggling under a heavy burden of public debt.
If you add personal and public debt together, both government loans and private loans, credit card debts and mortgages, the results are a little different. The total amount owed to parties outside the country is called âexternal debtâ. The top ten most indebted countries in the world by external debt looks like this:
1. United States â $13,703,567 million
2. United Kingdom â $10,450,ooo
3. Germany â $4,489,000
4. France â $4,396,000
5. Netherlands â $2,277,000
6. Ireland â $1,841,000
7. Japan â $1,492,000
8. Switzerland â $1,340,000
9. Belgium â $1,313,ooo
10. Spain â $1,313,000
As the government regularly tells us, itâs not the amount of debt thatâs important, but the ability to pay. It does tell us something about our wealth however â it is created out of debt. For that wealth to continue or to grow, we will need to take on more debt, as weâve seen repeatedly over the last few months. (the figures above are October 08 and out of date already)
Does that sound like a sustainable way to run an economy?
Brethren you need to talk this over with your spouse. You will need to pray over this and weigh what I am saying. You will need to decide if you trust what I am saying and what I am trying to do.
Noah had 120 years to convince the people of his day. Only 8 went on the Ark. Jeremiah had 40 years to convince Judah. None of them would listen. Jonah went through Nineveh and these gentiles did listen; they repented. Strange isnât it. What are you going to do now? How will history record what you do now that you have heard and read the warnings? You have less than the seven years of this current Sabbatical cycle but even less than that before many of these crippling events take place. At the end of this cycle the Shepherds will be killed and the sheep will be scattered; after that we will be entering the Sabbatical cycle of war and the famine of the word.
Am I right in what I say? Have you proven it one way or the other? Have you read The Prophecies of Abraham or watched the DVD on the Sabbatical and Jubilee years? Are you still blindly following Danielâs Timeline? What are you going to do? Whatever it is, you need to start by praying and fasting and you need to do it now. If you take the wait and see attitude, then when you do see you will be unable to act. It will be too late. What are you going to do?
There was once a man who fell into the sea and was drowning. He prayed to God to save him. A life saver floated by and he did not grab it. He ignored it and prayed for God to save him even more. Then a boat came by and the man said he was waiting for God to save him and would not get in the boat. The man prayed more to God to save him as he began to sink in the water. A helicopter came by and again the man said he had faith that God would save him and he would not let the helicopter rescue him.
The man then drowned.
In heaven the man met Peter at the Pearly Gate and Peter said to him you are not supposed to be here. The man said I had faith in God and I prayed in faith for God to rescue me. Peter then checked the records and said, God heard you prayer and sent you a life saver, and then a boat and finally a helicopter, but you refused to accept them all.
Brethren what kind of message do you expect Yahovah to send to you, warning you of what He is about to do? Are you expecting it come from a great leader or great orator of some huge church organization? Maybe some well dressed slick talker. Who are you looking for to warn you? Will it be the guy in sackcloth unwashed and unshaven? Or will it be some horseâs ass speaking to you?
Brethren you have the scriptures; you can read them; I am only showing where to read. You have the nightly news telling you what is happening around the world. Yet many of you still do not believe it is happening. Many of you still do not think it is real. Religion is that thing you do on the weekend. Many of you are still planning the retirement package, and next weekâs sports game. The bible, the Torah, the messages from Yahovah that you have read are not real to you, they are some historic event that does not apply today.
It is about to get very real and very personal.
I have sent out the News letter last week about Hyperinflation. I have prepared this weekâs News Letter and then I get this next 54 minute video. I have been trying to warn you. Watch this video and you will be shocked and scared of where we are. Watch and then act before it is too late and you can do nothing. Act now. http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/meltup-beginning-currency-crisis-hyperinflation/
Triennial Torah Portion
We continue this weekend with our regular Triennial Torah reading which can be found
Gen 21
We now read of the birth of Isaac. We have written previously of why Isaac was named.
In verse 4 we read of the circumcision of Isaac. This is a commandment for all the children of Abraham.
When I was researching this subject I found the following quote. http://www.aish.com/ci/sam/48964686.html
There is a particularly meaningful reason given for why the bris mila is on the eighth day. Rabbi Moshe Isserles[3] describes the custom of having a “welcoming” party (commonly known as a shalom zachor) for a newborn baby boy on the Friday night after the birth. Many commentaries ponder the question of why the party is held specifically on Friday night. Rabbi David HaLevi Segal, known as the Taz, brings a midrash[4] to explain the choice of day. The midrash comments on the command of the Torah[5] that a sacrifice not be brought before the newborn animal is eight days old:
“Rabbi Levi says that it is analogous to a king who decrees that anyone who wishes to see the face of the king must first see the face of the queen. Similarly says Hashem: do not bring a sacrifice before me until at least one Sabbath has passed for there are no seven days without a Sabbath and there is no mila (circumcision) without a Sabbath.”[6]
Why the importance of the Sabbath? Keeping the Sabbath is compared to keeping the whole Torah and breaking the Sabbath is considered tantamount to transgressing the entire Torah, since the Sabbath is a testimony that God made the world.[7]
According to the Torah, the exact times of the Jewish holidays are determined empirically by observing the appearance of the new moon and are set by the Sanhedrin. However, the Sabbath occurs every seven days without the input of man. Therefore, we see that while the holiness of the Jewish holidays derives at least partially from man, the holiness of the Sabbath comes directly and exclusively from God.
In Judaism, circumcision is considered a symbol of the covenant between God and the Jewish people. In fact, bris literally means “covenant.” The bris is on the eighth day so that the newborn baby will by necessity live through a complete week which must include a Sabbath. Once the baby has experienced the “holiness” of the Shabbos, he may enter into the covenant of the Jewish people.
Take special notice of what this Midrash Mishneh Torah, Hilchos Shabbos 30:15 is saying. According to the Torah, the exact times of the Jewish holidays are determined empirically by observing the appearance of the new moon and are set by the Sanhedrin
They are confirming the necessity to visibly see the new moon to determine the beginning of the month right from the mishneh and to have witnesses go to the Sanhedrin. I hope you all take note of this and tell the conjunction people about it.
The other teaching I want to point out to you about circumcision is what the above quote also mentions.
The âBrisâ is a covenant between us and Yahovah. It is done on the eighth day for a reason. âThe bris is on the eighth day so that the newborn baby will by necessity live through a complete week which must include a Sabbath.â
What this is teaching you, is this. That Yahovah will make His covenant with mankind during the eighth Millennium. This is the whole purpose of the Eighth Day Feast which comes at the end of Sukkot in the fall. The great white throne judgment takes place for the whole world on the eighth Millennium after the Sabbatical millennium of rest with Yeshua as our King.
The world must first experience 980 years or a Millennial Sabbatical with Yeshua as our King. It has to be done to compare His ruler ship with the 6000 years of Satanâs ruler ship. Once we have experienced this then when we are offered the covenant at this time and then we will know what it is that we are turning away from and turning towards.
What an excellent picture.
In verse 8 of gen 21 we read of the great feast Abraham made for Isaac the day or the year he was weaned. I have said this is the very first bar mitzvah and because such great attention was given to Isaac, Ishmael becomes jealous.
The book of Jasher tells us this was a huge event. Jasher 21: 4 And the child grew up and he was weaned, and Abraham made a great feast upon the day that Isaac was weaned. 5 And Shem and Eber and all the great people of the land, and Abimelech king of the Philistines, and his servants, and Phicol, the captain of his host, came to eat and drink and rejoice at the feast which Abraham made upon the day of his son Isaac’s being weaned. 6 Also Terah, the father of Abraham, and Nahor his brother, came from Haran, they and all belonging to them, for they greatly rejoiced on hearing that a son had been born to Sarah. 7 And they came to Abraham, and they ate and drank at the feast which Abraham made upon the day of Isaac’s being weaned. 8 And Terah and Nahor rejoiced with Abraham, and they remained with him many days in the land of the Philistines.
It is at this point that the second prophecy given to Abraham in Genesis 15:13 startsâ Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.
Jewish tradition says that Ishmael was more than scoffing. Ishmael was at this time 25 years old, Isaac was 10 and was about to slay him with a knife. The book of Jasher claims Ishmael was 14 and Isaac 5 when in verse 14 we read And Ishmael came to Isaac and seated himself opposite to him, and he took the bow and drew it and put the arrow in it, and intended to slay Isaac. 15 And Sarah saw the act which Ishmael desired to do to her son Isaac, and it grieved her exceedingly on account of her son, and she sent for Abraham, and said to him, Cast out this bondwoman and her son, for her son shall not be heir with my son, for thus did he seek to do unto him this day.
This event took place 2058 years after creation. 400 years later in 2458 at the 1st day of Unleavened bread was the Exodus.
We then read about the covenant between Abimelech and Abraham and the seven lambs. Beersheba means Well of the Oath or Well of the Seven Lambs.
No longer can we do business with just a hand shake. Contracts are needed to detail what both parties are expected to do in almost everything. This is in fact showing us that we cannot trust anyone word anymore.
Abraham made a covenant with Abimelech and then both men did exactly what was promised. They fulfilled the deal.
Are you trustworthy? Will you do what you say?
Judges 18-19
In genesis last week we learned of the 1000 pieces of silver paid to Abraham. We covered Judges 18 last week and chapter 19 is a great study. In Judges 16 we learn that the Philistine lords promise Delilah 1100 silver pieces (each) if she will betray Samson. In Judges 17 & 18 we read the start of the story of Micah who steals 1100 pieces of silver from his mother. He lives in the hill country of Ephraim and engages a Levite to live with him and be his priest. In Judges 19 we learn of a Levite from the hill country of Ephraim. Why are these little clues there connecting each chapter to the next? I do not have an answer just the question.
The chapter opens with a Levite going to fetch His concubine who has played the harlot. But the father in law invites him to stay a few more nights. Why did this man allow his daughter to be a concubine and not the wife?
Do not profane your daughter by making her a harlot, so that the land will not fall to harlotry and the land become full of lewdness. (Lev 19:29) This is your first clue as to what is going on here. How bad a situation the land has become.
In verse 11 we learn of them not being willing to stay in Jebus which was still not taken for Israel.
In verse 15 we read of the party resting in the open square waiting for someone to come along and invite them to lodge at their home but no one came. I had not seen this before but this has to do with hospitality which we seem to be running into each week in our studies. Here we have an example of a lack of hospitality and now we will see where this leads to.
Then along comes an Epraimite who offers to take care of this travelers needs and houses him and looks after his animals too and even washes their feet.
Then in verse 22 we have our senses once again assaulted as they were when Lot had the two angels and the men of the town wanted them so they could do them harm. In Judges we are told they wanted to know him carnally. That is rape this man by men.
And again the host, as did Lot, offered the men the virgins of the house, instead of the men, so they could do to them as they pleased just so they would not do it to the men or angels. I do not see this as being a better solution at all in both instances. But the Levite pushes out his concubine and the men ravage her all night until she crawls back and dies on the front porch.
So letâs see what is going on here.
The concubineâs mis-demeanour is uncertain. The Hebrew has zanah which is consistently translated as harlotry or adultery by NAS, AV, NIV, JPS, NAB, New Living and others. However Douay, JB, RSV & NRSV have âbecame angry with himâ, apparently following LXX (Josephus says that she was averse to him and did not return his affection, which led to quarrels and her eventual departure).
To play the harlot is also used metaphorically to describe apostasy and turning away from Yahweh (Ex 34:15, 1Ch 5:25, Ps 106:39, Eze 6:9, etc.)
Gen 38:24âJudah says, âbring her out to be burnedâ when he hears of Tamarâs harlotry; suggesting the death penalty for such a crime in the family.
Le 21:9âââŠthe daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by harlotry, she profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire.â might also apply to Levites.
Thus she may have âdeservedâ to die according to law. Yet the Levite was not bringing her back to execute her. The Leviteâs compassion was not there because he was willing to sacrifice this woman. After which he went to have a good nights sleep.
The concubineâs death was thus in a sense natural justice; the manner of it perhaps âpoetic justiceâ. If this is true then why cut up her body and send it to the 12 tribes?
The Levite put her dead body on his donkey and took her home. Once there, he cut her body into 12 pieces and sent a piece to the leaders of each of the 12 tribes (not the coast) of Israel, demanding justice, since this had happened in a Jewish town. This created a great moral outrage in Israel, and each tribe recruited soldiers and marched on the Tribe of Benjamin, in whose territory it happened. They demanded that the men who had done this be turned over for punishment. The Benjamites refused and in the ensuing battle, the tribe of Benjamin was nearly wiped out.
Before we get into the war with Benjamin, we need to see what is really going on here.
This story parallels the one of Lotâs experience with the two angels in Sodom, and bears witness to the Lordâs abhorrence of illicit sexual behaviour whether homosexual or heterosexual. It also underscores what soon happens in a society that abandons Yahovah. This incident took place within one generation after the Israelites had conquered the land, and since the fathers didnât teach their children what Yahovah had done for them, the nation quickly sank into one of the most morally and spiritually corrupt states in its history.
The cutting up of the woman was a custom of the time. Shem did it to Nimrod as a warning to the rest of the earth that if you follow in Nimrodâs ways the same is going to happen to you.
Samuel also cuts up an ox and sent it to each of the tribes in 1 Samuel 11 as a warning “Whoever does not go out with Saul and Samuel to battle, so it shall be done to his oxen.”
What we have here is an account of the unacceptable abuse of power by kinfolk; a betrayal of all the acceptable modes of behaviour. The Leviteâs action in cutting up his concubine is extreme but certainly no less extreme than the injury done to her, to him and to the whole of Israel. Certainly the incident becomes a byword for the depths to which an Israel without Yahovah might sink:
âThey have gone deep in depravity as in the days of Gibeahâ (Hos 9:9, cf Hos 10:9)
Benjamin had gone deep into depravity in less than one generation after Joshua had died. When we again reach the depth of this depravity the end is very near. Joel speaks of this.
Joel 3:1 1 “For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. 3 They have cast lots for My people, Have given a boy as payment for a harlot, And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.
In our day and in our time a boy is now sold for prostitution and so are little girls. Yet what do we as a society do about it? This is the crime brethren. What do we as a society do about it? Nothing!!! And because we as a society do nothing evil prevails and when retribution comes we all will pay for our inaction as did all of Benjamin for the raping and murder of a woman by a small group of men.
The Gibeah story is really about heterosexual rape. The Levite is portrayed as a coward. In his eagerness to avoid getting raped himself, he pushes his concubine out into the street and so abandons her to the hoodlums who abuse her until she dies.
Leaders of groups, cities, and nations are often seen as being the representative of the whole. Leviticus 4:15 instructs the elders to represent the corporate body in the offering for corporate sins.
The Old Testament also presents corporate sin on larger levels of cities and nations. The book of Judges is an excellent case study on how the moral (or lack thereof) singularity of a people created the spirit of the age where “every man did what was right in his own eyes.” As mentioned Leviticus 4:13-21 speaks of the corporate sins of the people and how they were to make an offering for those sins.
Now if the whole congregation of Israel commits error, and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly, and they commit any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, and they become guilty, when the sin which they have committed becomes known, then the assembly shall offer a bull of the herd for a sin offering, and bring it before the tent of meeting.
This passage recognizes that the sin of the people was done in such a corporate manner that it was to be dealt with in a singular way. It is also important to recognize that there needed to be atonement for their corporate sins. Since no individual could be held responsible for the corporate sins, a single corporate offering had to be made after the offense was recognized and the people repented.
Several examples of the corporate sins of a city are found throughout the Old Testament. As noted previously, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because “the outcry against its people has become so great before the Lord.” (Gen 19:13) The book of Habakkuk deals extensively with the sins of the city of Babylon. All of chapter 2 is a poignant indictment of Babylonâs evils and sins. When the moral decay of a society leads to everyone doing what is right in their own eyes, characteristic sins of the society rear their head. In Judges 19, the “men of the city” act out their lusts and sinfulness upon the concubine of the traveling Levite.
The lack of moral structure within the city allowed the men of Gibeah to freely act on their sinful desires in a group context.
This brethren is why all of Benjamin was killed off as we will read in next weekâs study. All of them accept 600 men. Because the leaders of the tribe did not and would not stand up and execute justice and enforce the Torah; Because the men of Benjamin would not teach Torah to their children.
When hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, what took place; Anarchy? The people as a whole would not keep the laws. The police were overwhelmed. Everyone did what was right in their own eyes. No one stood up to enforce justice. This is the sin of Benjamin, no one stood up to enforce that the criminals are caught and executed. The whole society was complacent and the whole of Benjamin paid for it just as Sodom and Gomorrah did.
Evil Flourishes when Good Men do notihng.
Psalm 45-47
Mathew 26
In verse 6 And when ????? was in B?yth Anyah at the house of Shim?on the leper, 7 a woman came to Him, having an alabaster flask of costly perfume, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table.
The word leper here is a mistranslation.
According to Lev 13: 45 âAs for the leper who has the infection, his garments are torn, and his head is uncovered, and he has to cover his upper lip and cry, âUnclean! Unclean!â 46 âHe is unclean â all the days he has the infection he is unclean. He is unclean, and he dwells alone, his dwelling place is outside the camp.
According to this law if the man had leprosy he could not dwell in the city and because of his uncleaness he could not be with others.
The word translated as leprosy in Greek is from the aramiac word Garba leper. But the same word GRB is also the word Garaba for jar maker or jar merchant, and this ties perfectly into the story in verse 7 of a woman who has an alabaster jar coming to the home of a jar maker and not a leper.
This woman is revealed to us in John 11: 1 And a certain one was sick, El?azar from B?yth Anyah, the village of Miryam and her sister Martha. 2 (Now it was Miryam who anointed the Master with perfume and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother El?azar was sick).
Yeshua tells us that this woman would be remembered for ever for doing this kind act. 12 âFor in pouring this perfume on My body, she did it for My burial. 13 âTruly, I say to you, wherever this Good News is proclaimed in all the world, what this woman has done shall be spoken of also, to her remembrance.â And indeed she has been all these years.
Also note that Mary then took the jar and broke it.
There was a custom of the east that says when a glass was used by a distinguished quest, the glass is broken so that it could not be used again of lesser person.
The other custom was that once you anoint the dead with fragrant oils and once the oils had been used to break the containers and place them with the dead so that they could not be used again.
We next come to the subject of the 30 pieces of silver paid for turning Yeshua over.
14 Then one of the twelve, called Yehud?ah from Qerioth, went to the chief priests, 15 and said, âWhat would you give me to deliver Him to you?â And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from then on he was seeking an occasion to deliver Him up.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirty_pieces_of_silver
In Zechariah 11:12-12, thirty pieces of silver is the price Zechariah receives for his labour. He takes the coins and throws them “to the potter”. Klaas Schilder notes that Zechariah’s payment indicates an assessment of his worth, as well as his dismissal.[4] In Exodus 21:32, thirty pieces of silver was the price of a slave, so while Zechariah calls the amount a “handsome price” (Zechariah 11:13), this could be sarcasm. Webb, however, regards it as a “considerable sum of money.”[5]
Schilder suggests that these thirty pieces of silver then get “bandied back and forth by the Spirit of Prophecy.”[6] When the chief priests decide to buy a field with the returned money, Matthew says that this fulfilled “what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet.” Namely, “They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel, and they used them to buy the potter’s field, as the Lord commanded me” (Matthew 27:9-10). Although many scholars see Jeremiah’s name as included in error,[7] Jeremiah’s purchase of a field in Jeremiah 32 may indicate that both prophets are in mind. Craig Blomberg argues that Matthew is using typology in his quotation, rather than “any kind of single or double fulfillment of actual predictive prophecy.” According to Blomberg, Matthew is telling his readers that, “like Jeremiah and Zechariah, Jesus attempts to lead his people with a prophetic and pastoral ministry, but instead he ends up suffering innocently at their hands.”[8]
Blomberg also suggests that Matthew may also be saying that “Jesus’ death is a ransom, the price paid to secure a slave’s freedom,” and that the use of the blood money to buy a burial ground for foreigners (Matthew 27:7) may hint at the idea that “Jesus’ death makes salvation possible for all the peoples of the world, including the Gentiles.
Jeremiah 32:6 And Yirmeyahu said, âThe word of ???? came to me, saying, 7 âSee, H?anameâ?l son of Shallum your uncle is coming to you, saying, âBuy my field which is in Anathoth, for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.â â 8 âSo H?anameâ?l my uncleâs son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of ????, and said to me, âPlease buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Binyamin, for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption. Buy it for yourself.â And I knew that this was the word of ????. 9 âAnd I bought the field which was at Anathoth from H?anameâ?l, my uncleâs son, and weighed out to him the silver, seventeen sheqels of silver.
Matthew 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
The 30 pieces of silver were the ransom price paid to betray Yeshua. That same money was used to buy the potters field.
I would like to share with you a teaching from the Hebraic Roots Teaching Institute of South Africa about Peter and the Rooster.
EXAMPLE OF MESSIANIC STUDIES
A common problem that exists in our English Bibles is mistranslation of the original text. Sometimes this seems to be the direct result of translators who were attempting to remove all hint of âJewishnessâ from the New Covenant (Testament) in order to support their particular theology. Other times it appears to be caused by ignorance of the Hebrew idioms or expressions. A classic example of the latter can be found in the story concerning Peterâs denial of Yâshua on the night of the Covenant Meal (Last Supper):
âAnd the Lord said, âSimon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethrenâ. But he said to Him, âLord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to deathâ. Then He said, âI tell you, Peter, the rooster (âcockâ in KJV) will not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Meââ. (Luke 22:31-34)
Later that night the Temple Guards arrested Yâshua and took Him to the house of the High Priest. There Simon Peter was allowed admission to the courtyard in view of where they were questioning Yâshua:
âAnd a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said, âThis man was also with Himâ. But he denied Him, saying, âWoman, I do not know Himâ. And after a little while another saw him and said, âYou also are of themâ. But Peter said, âMan, I am not!â Then after about an hour had passed, another confidently affirmed saying, âSurely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galileanâ. But Peter said, âMan, I do not know what you are saying!â And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster (cock) crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, âBefore the rooster (cock) crows, you will deny Me three times. Then Peter went out and wept bitterlyâ. (Luke 22:56-62)
This is one of the more famous stories in the Gospel accounts; repeated in both Matthew and Mark as well. However, there is one problem with the translation; chickens were not allowed in Jerusalem during Temple times. The reason for this prohibition was because chickens are very dirty birds and they have the obnoxious habit of finding their way into places where they do not belong. Therefore, to assure that chickens could not gain access to the Temple and desecrate the Holy Place or, worse yet, the Holy of Holies, the Priests simply forbids everyone in Jerusalem from having chickens.
So, what about this famous passage of Scripture? It clearly says in the New King James Version, just quoted, that a âroosterâ crowed and it was heard in the courtyard of the palace of the High Priest.
The proper translation is really quite evident when the practices of that time are understood. The âroosterâ or âcockâ that Peter and Yâshua heard was not a bird at all, but a man. That man was a priest at the Temple. He was the one who had the responsibility of unlocking the Temple doors each and every morning before dawn. Every night this priest would lock the doors to the Temple and place the key in an opening in the floor of one of the Temple side rooms. Then he would place a flat stone over the opening and place his sleeping mat over the stone. He would literally sleep over the key to the Temple. In the morning this priest would arise at first light and retrieve the key. He would then proceed to unlock the doors to the Temple and cry out three statements in a loud voice: âAll the cohanim (priests) prepare to sacrificeâ. âAll the Leviim (Levites) to their stationsâ. âAll the Israelites come to worshipâ. Then he would repeat these statements two more times.
The priest in question was known as the Temple Crier, and he was called âalektorâ in Greek, which can either be a âcockâ or âmanâ (cock is Gever in Hebrew). âAlektorâ here was incorrectly assumed to be the âcockâ or âroosterâ instead of the Priestly Temple Crier. It was his obligation to rouse all the Priests, Levites, and worshippers and call them to begin their preparations for the morning sacrifice service. In the stillness of the early morning, sound carries well and since the palace of the High Priest was within a very short walk from the Temple, it was the Temple Crierâs cry that was heard in the courtyard where Yâshua was being questioned and not the cock/rooster. Josephus, the historian, confirms this by stating that no chickens were allowed inside Jerusalemâs walls at all as they flew into the Temple and defiled the Temple.
While this example does not change the meaning of the event (that Peter would deny Yâshua despite his bravado earlier in the evening), it does serve to illustrate how English reading Bible students as well as other languages have been shortchanged in their understanding of some of the events as they actually took place. Also, by knowing the true facts about the Gever oneâs attention becomes focused on the fact that Yâshua, the Son of God, was being questioned while standing within earshot of His Fatherâs House (the Temple).
I would also like to show you another teaching before we leave this chapter.
62 And the high priest stood up and said to Him, âHave You no answer to make? What do these witness against You?â 63 But ????? remained silent. So the high priest said to Him, âI put You to oath, by the living Elohim that You say to us if You are the Messiah, the Son of Elohim.â 64 ????? said to him, âYou have said it. Besides I say to you, from now you shall see the Son of Ad?am sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of the heaven.â 65 Then the high priest tore his garments, saying, âHe has blasphemed! Why do we need any more witnesses? See, now you have heard His blasphemy! 66 âWhat do you think?â And they answering, said, âHe is liable to death.â
Right here you have read that Yeshua is accused of blasphemy. What is the penalty for blasphemy?
Lev 24: 10 And the son of an Yisraâ?lite woman, whose father was a Mitsrite, went out among the children of Yisraâ?l. And the Yisraâ?lite womanâs son and a man of Yisraâ?l strove in the camp. 11 And the Yisraâ?lite womanâs son blasphemed the Name, and cursed. So they brought him to Mosheh. Now his motherâs name was Shelomith the daughter of Dib?ri, of the tribe of Dan. 12 And they put him in under guard, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of ????. 13 And ???? spoke to Mosheh, saying, 14 âBring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and all those who heard him shall lay their hands on his head, and all the congregation shall stone him. 15 âAnd speak to the children of Yisraâ?l, saying, âAnyone who curses his Elohim shall bear his sin. 16 âAnd he who blasphemes the Name of ???? shall certainly be put to death, and all the congregation certainly stone him, the stranger as well as the native. When he blasphemes the Name, he is put to death.
It is stoning until they die.
We read in New Testament that Yeshua was hung on a tree and not a cross.
Acts 5: 30 âThe Elohim of our fathers raised up ????? whom you laid hands on, hanging Him on a tree.
Acts 13:29 Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.
Galatiansâ 5: 12 And the Torah is not of belief, but âThe man who does them shall live by them.â 13 Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Torah, having become a curse for us â for it has been written, âCursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree.â
1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.
There is no penalty in which you are to hang a man on a tree. But there is a provision to make sure if one is hung on a tree that they not remain there over night. And anyone hung on a tree is accursed by Yahovah.
Deuteronomy 21:22 âAnd when a man has committed a sin worthy of death, then he shall be put to death and you shall hang him on a tree. 23 âLet his body not remain overnight on the tree, for you shall certainly bury him the same day â for he who is hanged is accursed of Elohim â so that you do not defile the land which ???? your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance.
We then read in Joshua 7 hove Achan became accursed for taking the accursed things from Jericho. The penalty for this was that he and his wife and his children and all their livestock were stoned to death and then burned with all their possessions.
When Yeshua became accursed as He hung on the tree the penalty for this was that He was to be stoned. He was also accused of blaspheming and the penalty for that is also stoning. Yeshua has in truth fulfilled the law. The law for Blasphemy and the law for being accursed were both fulfilled when Yeshua was stoned as the law requires.
So as you read this account in Mathew 26 and 27 of the death of Yeshua keep this in mind and understand just how great the that redemption price was. Although 30 pieces of silver paid for it, the cost was much much more.
We are also going to continue to study the 613 laws of Torah which we can read at http://www.jewfaq.org/613.htm
We are doing 7 laws each week and this week we shall study laws 135-141. We also have commentary, with editing from me, again from http://theownersmanual.net/The_Owners_Manual_02_The_Law_of_Love.Torah
135 Not to do work on Yom Kippur (Lev. 23:31) (CCN151). See Yom Kippur.
(135)Do not do work on Yom Kippur. âYou shall do no manner of work; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.â (Leviticus 23:31) Thereâs a subtle difference here from the normal Sabbath: usually, itâs âDonât do your customary work.â Now itâs âDo no manner of work.â
This is a very special Holy day in which Satan is locked away. It is very somber and different than other joyous festivals. It is also the last of the 10 days of awe. You can read more on this at https://sightedmoon.com/sightedmoon_2015/?page_id=255
136 To rest on the Yom Kippur (Lev. 23:32) (CCA31). See Yom Kippur.
(136)Rest on Yom Kippur. âIt shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath.â (Leviticus 23:32) Hereâs the converse of Mitzvah #135. Did you ever wonder why Yahweh begins the âdayâ at sundown? We see it described this way all the way back in the creation account, where we see the formula repeated: âThe evening and the morning were the nth day.â What separates nighttime from daytime? The defining factor is light. It was not by accident that Yeshua said, âI am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.â (John 8:12) John explains the connection: âIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend [i.e., overcome] it.â (John 1:1-5) Yahwehâs pattern is to move us from darkness into light, from chaos into order, from ignorance into knowledge, from slavery into freedom. And so as we see in His instruction to rest on the Day of Atonement, it is reiterated that the Sabbath is to take us from affliction into celebration.
137 To rest on the first day of Sukkot (Lev. 23:35) (CCA34). See Sukkot.
(137)Rest on the first day of Sukkot. âThe fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to Yahweh. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh.â (Leviticus 23:34-36) Here the Sabbath rest is back to being described as not doing oneâs âcustomary work,â that is, the type of work one normally does to earn his livingâto provide for his own needs. The rabbis, of course, arenât satisfied with this definition (and the grace of God that it symbolizes) and generally state that all work must cease on this day. So verse 40 must give them migraines: âAnd you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God for seven days.â Thatâs right: theyâre supposed to âworkâ on the first day of Sukkot, putting their temporary shelters together.
Although the rabbis have zeroed in on the things they can observe ritualistically (i.e., without thinking about them too much), there is a reason Yahweh instituted this Feast of Booths, or Tabernacles. (âTabernacleâ is admittedly a word we donât use much anymore outside of the technical description of the âtent of meetingâ used during the wilderness wanderings. All the word means, however, is a booth, pavilion, or tentâa temporary structure of some kind.) As Iâve said before, Yahweh doesnât do things on a pointless whimâHe invariably has some benefit or illustrative lesson in mind. So we must ask ourselves: why would God ask the Israelites to leave their comfortable homes and build these temporary huts to live in for a week every year? Itâs a picture of one of the most astounding concepts in all of scriptureâGod Himself is planning to leave His glorious heavenly abode and camp out personally among men for a seasonâa thousand years of perfect peace. Like the weeklong Sukkot celebration, itâs described as one big partyâa barbecue, if you will. In the ultimate permutation, the inhabitants of earth will enjoy a flawless world with King Yeshua on the throne for an entire Millennium.
Thatâs why John told us, âThe Word became flesh and dwelt [Greek skenoo: to tabernacle or encamp] among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.â (John 1:14)
138 Not to do work on the first day of Sukkot (Lev. 23:35) (CCN153). See Sukkot.
(138)Do not work on the first day of Sukkot. âOn the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. (Leviticus 23:35) Itâs annoying, isnât itâthis habit of Maimonides to restate everything as both an affirmative and as a negative. I should remind the reader that this practice wasnât quite so obvious in the original. There, the negative mitzvot were grouped together, and the affirmative rules were set aside by themselves. The order weâre using (that of Tracey Rich of Judaism 101) makes this childish propensity far more obviousâlike a seventh grader trying to stretch one page of research into a three page report. Whatâs not so obvious is what Maimonides (and the rabbis before him) left out. There are thousands of rule-worthy statements in the Torah that could have been codified but for the fact that they point directly to Yeshua in His role as the Messiah. For example: (1) Select the perfect Passover lamb on the tenth day of Nisan and bring him into your household until he is slain on the fourteenth. (Exodus 12:1-6); (2) Donât break any of the bones of the Passover lamb. (Exodus 12:46); (3) All firstborn who are males are dedicated to Yahweh (Exodus 13:12); (4) The pure gold lamps lighting the holy place must burn continually, fed with the oil of pressed olives, and tended by the High Priest. (Leviticus 24:1-4) I could go on ad infinitum, but since neither these nor thousands of other possibilities were listed by Maimonides, they are beyond the purview of this study, nor will I take the time to explain how they tie into the revealed plan of manâs redemption. My point is simply that what the rabbis left out is as revealing as what they put into the â613 Laws of Moses.â
139 To rest on the eighth day of Sukkot (Shemini Atzeret) (Lev. 23:36) (CCA37). See Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah.
(139)Rest on the eighth day of Sukkot. âFor seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.â (Leviticus 23:36) If the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles is prophetic of the beginning of the Millennial reign of Christ, then what in the world could the eighth day signify? Actually, itâs not âin the worldâ any more at all, but âout of this world,â if youâll excuse the lame play on words. The eighth day is predictive of what comes after the Millennium: eternity! Our life after the thousand-year reign of the King will be a completion of the process that was begun on the Feast of Trumpets. By this time, all believers of all ages will have received their immortal, spiritual bodies (see I Corinthians 15), and Yahweh will unveil a New Heaven and a New Earth (not to mention a New Jerusalem) in which we can enjoy His company forever.
Thatâs why itâs called a âsacred assembly.â There will be no one left who has not chosen to accept Yahwehâs love. Once again, itâs designated as a Sabbath rest. Thereâs nothing we can do to earn this eternal state of blissful communion with our Godâall we can do is relax and enjoy the gift.
140 Not to do work on the eighth day of Sukkot (Shemini Atzeret) (Lev. 23:36) (CCN154). See Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah.
(140)Do not work on the eighth day of Sukkot. âOn the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.â (Leviticus 23:36) Oy vey. Read #139 again.
141 To take during Sukkot a palm branch and the other three plants (Lev. 23:40) (CCA36). See Sukkot.
(141)Take during Sukkot a palm branch and the other three plants. âYou shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God for seven days. You shall keep it as a feast to Yahweh for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month. You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your God.ââ (Leviticus 23:40-43)
