Eighth New Moon 5845

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shalom Brethren and Hodesh Sameach, Happy New Moon Day.

I have had many of you wondering if I made it home OK. The Answer is yes. And just so you know I had an awesome Feast. So did the other 150 people or so, who were with us. I will share more of this unbelievable Sukkot with you this Shabbat.

I have to say something which will upset some of you. So I will say it now rather than with this week’s News Letter on Shabbat.

Here in Southern Ontario Canada the Leaves are turning yellow and red and orange and fall is in the air now. The farmers are racing to get in the last of the oats and grains, and wheat and corn crops. The hay is all gathered and the potatoes are being stored. The winter wheat is already sprouting up. It is a good time to harvest. Oh ya, while most people have forgotten, this year is still a Sabbatical year. From Aviv 2009 until Aviv 2010. Yahweh has not forgotten, nor has he put away his punishments that are about to come upon us all. He may be resting during this Sabbatical year, but come Aviv 2010, the third curse of Lev 26 will begin to be given out.

So although many are rejoicing about the harvest they now have, Yahweh is about to begin to give them something else to chew on. Read carefully what is in store for those who will not obey.

Deuteronomy 28:45-68
45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you. 46 And they shall be upon you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever. 47 “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The Lord will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you. 52 They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you at all your gates throughout all your land which the Lord your God has given you. 53 You shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom the Lord your God has given you, in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you. 54 The sensitive and very refined man among you will be hostile toward his brother, toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the rest of his children whom he leaves behind, 55 so that he will not give any of them the flesh of his children whom he will eat, because he has nothing left in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates. 56 The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and sensitivity, will refuse to the husband of her bosom, and to her son and her daughter, 57 her placenta which comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of everything in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates. 58 “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, 59 then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues–great and prolonged plagues–and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60 Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed. 62 You shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven in multitude, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. 63 And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess. 64 “Then the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known–wood and stone. 65 And among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and anguish of soul. 66 Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. 67 In the morning you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Oh, that it were morning!’ because of the fear which terrifies your heart, and because of the sight which your eyes see. 68 And the Lord will take you back to Egypt in ships, by the way of which I said to you, ‘You shall never see it again.’ And there you shall be offered for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”

Le 26:29 You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters.

Jer 19:9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and everyone shall eat the flesh of his friend in the siege and in the desperation with which their enemies and those who seek their lives shall drive them to despair.” ‘

This is a Sabbatical year and just like the Holy Days, and just like Shabbat, we need to be obeying Yahweh and keeping this year as a rest year for the land. We have 4 more months to go before we can plant and then reap. But until then stay the course.

We can eat now or we can eat later something else; you get to choose which one you will eat.

Here is the New Moon sighting from Israel.

New Moon Report
October 2009
Eighth Biblical Month

On October 20, 2009 the new moon was sighted from Israel. The moon was first sighted from Tzfat at 17:11 by John Zecca, from Jerusalem at 17:13 by Aryeh Levy, Nehemia Gordon, Devorah Gordon, and Adam Kinghorn, and from Kefar Eldad at 17:17 by Maya Khalturina and Bruce Brill. The moon was not sighted from Israel on the previous evening (October 19).

Hodesh Sameach!
Happy New Moon!

One short note.

One Monday October 5th, 2009 I was speaking about the Prophecies of Abraham. For those of us who keep the sighted moon this would have been the 1st day of the Feast of Tabernacles. As I spoke the moon came up over the Dome of the rock. It was exceptionally beautiful, with the gold Dome in the foreground.

Everyone was commenting on how it was a full moon and how it was yellow and orange and so large. I had to remind everyone that this was a full moon and it was on the first day of the Feast of Sukkot according to the Sighted Moon calendar. These same people had said the day before that the moon was not full for the Conjunctured people nor was it full for those who are following the Rabbinic calendar which had Sukkot on Saturday.

So many people say it cannot be a sighted moon calendar because the moon will not be full on Sukkot nor on Passover. Well this evening of Sukkot just proved this statement wrong. Many said they will have to rethink which calendar they follow.

That was so special to see the moon so full on the Sighted moon calendar with three groups keeping the Feast together. Those who follow the rabbinic calendar and those who follow the conjunctured calendar, and those of us who go by the sighted moon. Only those who use the sighted moon had a full moon on the first day of the Feast of Sukkot.

So if you’re still in doubt , go out and look for it tonight, and each month between now and Passover. Then learn by doing why no man can know the day or the hour. It is because it is the Feast of Trumpets and it is determined by the first sighting of the new moon which tells you when the Feast of Trumpets starts.

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. Bottom Line. May Yahweh bless you and show you His truths as you begin to keep His commandments. All of them and not just the ones you think are important. All of them are important.
Shalom
