Shabbat Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,
We seemed to have stirred the pot a bit last week, as we explained the barley situation to you all. However, some people felt they had to speak up and defend their right to follow the wrong calendar. And in so doing, they are condemning me for pointing out this glaring error on their part to them.
You can read their comments in last week’s newsletter, where they said we are not to judge others for not keeping the same calendar we are. What they are saying when they do this is that we ought not to say anything to anyone who keeps Sunday as their holy day. Nor should we speak up when someone is keeping Easter or Christmas. We should not point out the complex and difficult facts that cause people to get upset when we point out their sins.
If I am not allowed to point out the fact that the Hillel Calendar is wrong and grows more wrong each year, or if I am not allowed to point out how those who follow the equinox are all in error, substituting the sun for the barley, then why would I have any rights to point out any religion at all? They are all right and God knows their hearts. They are all basically good. Those telling you not to judge a brother who is not obeying Yehovah are giving you the most prominent line of crap since Satan told the first lie.
Do not fall for it. DO NOT FALL FOR THE MODERN LIE.
Yehovah is not the God of Confusion, but Satan is. Yehovah has given us 3430 years to figure this out. These are the 70 weeks of Daniel. We are now coming to the end of that time. In fact, we are in the final 10 years of that 3430-year time period. And here we are with some people still thinking it does not matter. God knows your heart—the same heart we are told repeatedly is deceitful above all other things.
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
Jer 16:12 And you have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, you walk each one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, without listening to Me;
Gen 6:5 And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart wasonly evil continually.
Gen 8:21 And Jehovah smelled a sweet odor. And Jehovah said in His heart, I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. And I will not again smite every living thing as I have done.
Matt 15:19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies;
Proverbs 28:26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool; but whoever walks wisely, he shall be delivered.
In Numbers, we are given an example of a man who knew more than Yehovah and did not want to keep the Sabbath. His fellow men judged him for breaking the Sabbath, and he was locked up for breaking it. Then Yehovah had him executed, because He did know the mans lying heart.
Num 15:32 And while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day.
Num 15:33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation.
Num 15:34 And they put him under guard because it had not been clearly said what should be done to him.
Num 15:35 And Jehovah said to Moses, The man shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.
Num 15:36 And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died, even as Jehovah commanded Moses.
That man did not have the right to choose which days were holy and which ones were not, and neither do you or I.
You do not get to choose what or how you will worship Yehovah. He was unequivocal in telling us when to keep what days Holy. Lev 23 tells you exactly how to do it. And as we showed you last week, He tests you by sending those who can and will lead you away to worship at the wrong time. It is a test to see if you know or are even bothered to prove when to keep the Holy Days. Quoting Gen 1:14 and assuming it is the only verse on this matter is a deception.
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years.
I suppose it is okay to keep the Holy Days by whatever calendar you feel fits your personality. In that case, it is also okay for the Pope to change the Sabbath from Sunset Friday to Sunset Saturday to now being only on Sundays. We should not judge. And you all know this is a big, fat lie. But the moment I tell you how to know which calendar to use and how to prove which one is right, I am told not to judge those who are wrong and sinning.
On October 7, 2023, many young adults decided to have a Rave instead of keeping Shemini Atzeret. Was Israel blessed for this? Were the 340 people murdered on October 7, and who attended that Rave blessed for this? The fact that the Hillel Calendar has drifted further from the proper season by 19 days due to the error incorporated in the Julian calendar from which the Hillel was created does not phase some people. Yet this error is causing them to keep the Feasts a month late. Will Yehovah bless all of Israel for this worship of the Holy Days at the wrong time? After 1945, it was learned that 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust. Did they repent and fix what was wrong, or continue with the same errors that preceded 1939? Did Judah learn from the many pogroms where they were chased out of each place they were in for keeping the Holy Days at the wrong time?
We have had 3410 years (3430 years [70 X 49] less 20) to get it figured out; we still have no clue. Over the next ten years, from 2024 until 2033, all those on the wrong calendars, keeping the wrong days at the wrong times, will be killed off. There will be no more confusion in the Kingdom of Yehovah. We will all be doing things at the proper time according to His mandates and not any of our false or wrong misunderstandings. I understand that the things I am saying will offend people. But for those few who go out and check to see if I am stating the truth or not, then it is worth it.
Every year, two types of people write to me. Those who fight against everything we say, each step along the way and those who used to fight but decided to go and prove it using ALL the scriptures and not just cheery picking the few verses that fit their theology. The second group who went to prove this one way or the other wrote me to say thank you for sticking it out here in the front, not yielding or backing down, pounding home every point week after week, giving them time to figure it out. I am not here condemning or judging any of you. The Torah which all of you have does that.
Jhn 5:45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you, Moses, in whom you trust.
Jhn 5:46 For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed Me, for he wrote of Me.
Jhn 5:47 But if you do not believe his writings, how shall you believe My Words?
Last week’s Newsletter about the 6 days of John showed you what those 6 days looked like, which John spoke about. We showed you what Yehshua Himself said on that Tuesday and how He stated there were still two days until the Passover, proving beyond any reasonable doubt that Tuesday evening when they had the last supper was not and could not be the Passover meal. Jesus, Yehshua, told you with His own words that Passover was still two days away, and He said this on that Tuesday afternoon. If Passover were that evening, He would have said Passover was tonight, but He never said that. He said it was still two days away.
This week, we are also going to share with you, and especially for those who are stuck on the equinox calendar, our teaching that is revealed by the Tombstone of Zoar. As you read it, you should understand the Hillel Calendar was only created by Rabbi Hillel in 358 AD. He did so because all the Jews were being driven out of the land of Israel. I want you also to realize that it was created in 358. Three hundred 327 years after Yehshua was killed in 31 AD. Yehshua did not speak against the Hillel Calendar because it was not yet invented. Even though the Hillel Calendar was created in 358 AD, it was still not implemented until over 100 years later, and it was not adopted as the calendar by which all Jews were going to keep the Holy Days until Maimonides Rambam declared it so in the 12th century creating unity amongst all the Jews.
In the comments last week, you were told that you only have to remove leaven from your home on the 14th day of the month. Let me respond in this way.
You have two teenagers, both with filthy rooms. You tell them to clean the room before they can have the family car. One takes his smelly socks and throws them in the laundry and thinks he is done. The other cleans his room, putting clothes and things away, making his bed, and doing the laundry, not just adding to the pile of clothes to be done. Who would you give the car keys to?
You can be a minimalist and do the bare minimum, or you can go above and beyond what Yehovah expects.
Exo 12:19 Seven days there shall be no leaven found in your houses. For whoever eats that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, among the aliens and among the natives of the land.
Deut 16:3 You shall eat no leavened bread with it. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of affliction, for you came forth out of the land of Egypt in haste, so that you may remember the day that you came forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.
Deut 16:4 And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you in all your borders for seven days. Nor shall any of the flesh which you sacrificed in the first day at evening remain all night until the morning.

Remembering The Sabbatical Years of 2016: Breaking The Curses By Obedience
May 16, 2023
This book is a must have in your collection!
This man Joseph Dumond has devoted his life to getting the truths of Yehovah out to the lost sheep.
Truly a remarkable work in getting you to understand the Sabbatical and Jubilee years and where we are in our Creators timeline based on a mountain of evidence.
I can’t prove this wrong, and many have questioned me on this without them looking into it for themselves.
Please take the time and read this book along with Josephs other books if you’re able.
He is not in this to make a profit, he cares deeply for his fellow brothers and sisters in Torah and all God’s children that they would consider, repent, and return to the one who fashioned us in our mother’s womb.
Our Father in heaven has commandments and if you love him, you will keep his commandments.
One of the commandments people gloss over from Leviticus is keeping the Sabbatical and Jubilee years.
These can now be kept in the proper timing based on Josephs work that he has brought to the surface for everyone to see and prove for themselves.
Many will try and discredit this but can’t prove it wrong.
Many of the things you see on the news and what people attribute to climate change, and even Covid is really part of the curses from God in Leviticus because mankind has rejected God and his commandments, and we think we can do what we want on keep him out of our life.
In Leviticus 26 there are blessings for keeping his laws and his covenant but on the other hand there are curses for not following him and these curses stack up on one another and not only that they follow these Sabbatical cycles. Joseph presents this in his books, and you can find out more on his website: Sightedmoon.com.
Don’t harden your hearts this day but return to your first love and that zeal you have for your Father and Creator.
He wants you to keep moving, keep changing, keep refining your walk with him. He will draw closer to you as you draw closer to him.
Try this by keeping the Sabbatical year.
We are currently in the Sabbatical year of 2023.
It’s not too late to turn your heart back to your Father.
It’s a land rest this year no sowing or harvesting. Eat this year what grows of itself.
Let your land rest, forgive your debtors, Read the Torah (law) during the Feast of Sukkot with your family.
Pick up this book now and get wisdom, knowledge, and understanding!
Pray about it to the Father that he can help you understand. Seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.
My family and I are living proof that keeping his Sabbatical years and his other commandments do bring blessings! This is the 2nd Sabbatical year we have been keeping, the last one we kept was in 2016.
The Father is doing a work in my family and myself that people I have known all my life have trouble believing it’s even possible.
I was lost in my sins nearly unto death but continue to give up more of my flesh year after year and learn a remain teachable by his Holy Spirit.
Only by His Spirit and strength have I been able to do anything. All glory and honor to our Father Yehovah and Yeshua our savior.
Don’t harden your hearts. Just as it is written these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
Don’t forget your heart, let only the most high God of Israel, Yehovah be the ruler of your heart.
The last thing anyone wants to hear is: I never knew you! depart from me you who practice lawlessness.
They never took the time to get to know him! Get to know him, pray often not just when it feels convenient.
Get this book and these other masterpieces from Yehovah’s spokesman, The humble gentleman: Joseph Dumond. May Yehovah bless you!
Sincerely, Nick Caron

This book is a must read for the serious student of Torah. It contains absolutely vital information. But, do expect a spanking. He takes his frustration out on the saints a bit excessively, in my opinion.
Plus, having lost my eldest son to the SADS after an abominable so-called “covid vaccine”, and realizing that sorcery is a key feature of end time Babylon the Great, I see Mr Dumond overlooking how this fulfills prophecy, rather than the supposed plague itself.
And, I believe Biblically supported cosmology (aka flat earth, but not the society), simply because it is the truth, and that points to some serious conspiracy truths.
There are many more, such as the truth of the revisionists” point of view in the world wars.
However that may be, this author is still correct in calling us to concentrate on Torah. Yeshua our Savior did not concentrate on the evils of Rome, as was hoped of Him. He rather concentrated on false doctrine, and misrepresentation of Torah and Prophecy. He came to set us free.
So, today, we should be turning to The Father, to Yehovah, and making positive truth identity in keeping His Instruction.
This book will help you see where The Holy Place is and how to look for the Abomination spoken of by Daniel and reiterated by Yeshua. Invaluable.
I gave it four stars because of the Judgments passed on the believers that are coming to understand Yeshua and how He told us to follow Him (in obedience to His Father).
We are all on this journey, and at different stages in our growth. I just think this could have been done more thoughtfully, more gently.
But, by the same token, understand that Joseph Dumond is not your enemy. He has an amazing message, and astonishing research.
I found a few typographical type errors, but the E-book was a very nice edition. Enjoy, pray, apply.

All I can say is that I don’t worry about the math of the beast, it’s all about THE MARK OF YEHOVAH/YESHUA!
THE DECIPLES HAD THE SAME QUESTIONS AND HAD TO ASK YESHUA PRIVATELY BECAUSE THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND YESHUA’S PARABLES, YET THEY WALKED RIGHT ALONG SIDE HIM. 2000 YEARS LATER THIS BOOK GIVES US THE ANSWERS AND MAKES THE WORD A EASY READ AND UNDERSTANDABLE!

This was a hard read… because it is a book for grown-ups. Throughout history there has been a struggle between the church that guards the scriptures and the ones that rewrite their own version and interpretation of scriptures. Many people may not want to know the truth, but Joe Dumond tells you anyway.
Once you learn what has been lost, then you will see what is being restored. The author does a great job at not only covering this topic, but covering it in detail… there are footnotes on just about every page which not only back-up what the author presents, but give one the more-more-more follow-up resources that some people want.
I say that this book is an uncomfortable hard read, and it is… it’s long, it contains hard truths, and… well… it makes you hope the next book in the trilogy is just as long and contains just as much truth. Compared to this author’s other books, this one stands on its own like the rest do. Which to read first? Hmmm… tough question. Maybe checkout his “sightedmoon” website and ask him yourself.

1st Thessalonians 5:4
King James Bible:
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Proverbs 25:2
King James Bible:
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
Joseph Dumond is the only researcher of The Word that I know who found in II Kings a verse which proved a historical date to be a real Jubilee year. That is a tremendous feat. He has also found many sabbath years from even ancient stones, and they all correspond correctly. There’s so much to learn from his books.
I bought a digital copy of this book, and it was eye opening and I can see exactly why he would present that date for the harpazo.
I am happy to have read it. It presents a different feast of The Lord’s that I felt it would happen, but it makes sense it would happen during the particular feast Joseph presents.

The Mystery of the Jewish Rapture 2033!
December 21, 2021
As always, Joseph Dumond offers us much food for thought. This book is a good addition to his other books, setting forth his understanding of the Appointed Times of Adonai and their relation to the end times. I read the 2300 Days of Hell and the Sabbatical Years of 2016…. some years ago, and find here the same teaching about the 70 Weeks/70 Shavuot of Daniel. Readers may well find this teaching easier to understand here in The Mystery of the Jewish Rapture of 2033. Then for additional information, they will want to read his other books. Most of us have tainted belief’s we learned from the translations of Rome and I think I finally REALLY understood and absorbed Dumond’s teaching on the 70 Shavuot upon reading Mystery.
Look up and learn to walk in the Way of the Covenant so you will be a wise virgin!

This book is so easy to read, yet eye opening when it comes to understanding and connecting the dots of the “Words” spoken in Scripture. Every person who claims to “know” the Son of God needs to read this book and test all that has been taught in many churches for the last 2,000 years. Do you follow the “Truth” or a tradition handed down from past generations and just “church” dogma?
We are living in crazy and unsettling times. Grab hold of the expectation and be ready to have your eyes opened to see things that even the “prophets” longed to see!!

There just isn’t a better book on Christian prophecy than this! What an eye opener!
Of the many books and articles that I have read on prophecy in my personal search for truth, this is the only one that does not rely on old ideas that were developed hundreds of years ago when knowledge was minimal. So much more has been learned through historical and archeological research. The world has changed so much that before now no one could have clearly envisioned how prophecy might play out.
I think the average Christian doesn’t realize that recent developments in technology and huge increases in knowledge offer us a unique opportunity to raise the veil so that we might see clearly what was once hidden behind a dark glass.
After learning about these things and seriously considering the Bible, with a willingness to set aside my traditional beliefs about prophecy, I have come to the conclusion that this book is inspired by God. Mr. Dumond presents compelling information that overturns long held assumptions and unverified beliefs making the entire body of prophetic knowledge fully accessable. As a matter of fact I think that just about anyone with no previous knowledge of the Bible would understand things that scholars have devoted their lives to explaining.
I would like everyone to know what is being shown in the pages of this book. No serious truth seeker should pass up the opportunity to have their eyes opened through its revelations. I believe it is the most important book ever written,- next to the Bible itself.
Thank you Joseph Dumond.

Joseph Dumond (JD) has done it again!
Of all the teachers out there, none of them are sounding the alarm like JD is.
I read his other books, 2300 Days of Hell and Remembering The Sabbatical Years Of 2016 and they are compelling!
Absolute must reads!
I praise Yahuha God, that He has revealed this critically important information in these last days for those who are-in Spirit and in Truth, paying attention.
Give this book to your loved ones.
It could be the tool Yahuah God uses to finally wake them up to get them to ask the right/relevant questions.

I love the enormous amount of Scripture the author uses in teaching and making a point. Taking a single verse out of context can totally skew the understanding (case in point, Psalm 10:4 and 14:1 both say that there is no God). Instead of leading his readers to his belief system, Mr Dumond lets the Bible lead the way! He just connects the dots.
There were so many Bible verses I never understood, despite many years of Sunday School and Bible studies. Many actually seemed to contradict each other. Once I learned that the Bible uses idioms it made such a difference in my understanding. In English we say things like “killing time” or “kicking the bucket” and recognize that they express something other then the sum of the individual words. Turns out that Hebrew (the language the Creator chose to record His words) uses many idioms also. Recognizing what they mean opened up my understanding!
I’m about to go thru this book a 2nd time as there is SO much I didn’t get it all the first time!

This book will open up everything you thought you already knew, but surprisingly didn’t. From the first page to the last, you won’t be able to put this book down. It is truly an excellent book to reference over and over again due to the quantity of Scriptural references and topics explained.
Do you ever sit in church and think something is missing? Why are so many in the church becoming disillusioned and leaving? Why is the church so splintered? This book will cause you to step back and say, “Why didn’t I see this? It’s right there in black and white! Why isn’t this being taught?” The author brings forth a depth of Scripture that few have seen or understood since ancient times.
The abundance of Scripture will prove each point to you. Nothing is taught without Scripture to back it up. As Paul said, “Prove all Things”. And I hope each Christian will take the time to prove for themselves where they stand as I have. Parables and events are also explained including both the timing of His birth and His expected return.
Prepare to be shocked in what the author has dug out through his vast research.
I’ve purchased many copies to share with friends and family in both paperback and e-book.
It’s truly among the best books I’ve ever read. I think you’ll agree.

The Prophecies of Abraham: Declaring the End from the Beginning, and from Ancient Times Things That Are Not Yet Done
December 31, 2017
After reading this book the first time, I have purchased multiple copies for friends and family — so by action, I definitely give this book the highest review. To help you better make your purchase, I can say that this book is the first book by this author and is very well organized and has color pictures and charts. It is a physically high quality print, and is a good starting point for the materials presented by this author. After reading this book, I highly recommend searching for the other books by Joseph Dumond by his SightedMoon label and also hunting down his videos (free to watch online a lot of places, but can also be purchased on DVD).
Concerning the content/information presented in this book: One might assume that a book with the word “prophecies” in the title might be a hype filled book of baseless predictions; rest assured, this book is not one of those type of books. It is often said that to understand the future, one must understand the past. This book takes that approach and places the events of the Scriptures in the bible on a calendar. From this calendar, one can see the 120 forty nine year jubilee cycles of mankind’s history from creation up to this current last jubilee cycle that people often just refer to as “the end times”. From how the author depicts this information, one can see how prophecies of the past occur in very reliable patterns. One can better see how very well organized our Creator is. Old misunderstandings of well known prophecies in the book of Daniel, for example, are made much easier to understand; in addition, the author explains when to count by 49’s (as modeled by Shavuot/Pentecost and the Jubilee years) when placing prophetical events on the 49×120 year calendar of the time of man. This is all done with the understanding that this author presents of the blessings and curses due to obedience/disobedience to our Heavenly Father’s laws/statutes/commandments presented in the Scriptures. With this understanding, the author shows how the 7 year patterns (as modeled by the Sabbaths) of blessings and curses presented in Levitucus 26 have been repeating themselves over and over and over throughout time trying to get man back on track.
In the end, this author passes my personal one critic of ANY religious book: He puts out the call to repentance to the reader. Beyond that, he greatly surpasses my expectations of most religious teachings out there in that he helps our modern culture understand how they are sinning (as, some do not know how to identify sin) and how they have lost their identities of who and what our Heavenly Father expects them to be.

Stop trying to “guess” when the end times are… they will come when God commands it and not a second sooner. Since God has made it “abundanlty” clear that only HE knows when the curtain is coming down (even Jesus doesn’t know), I always find it amazing when yet another “prophet” rears their head up to tell us that, this time, they’ve really sussed it all out. Nope. Keep on guessing, because that’s all you can do.
if God has said that no one will know, then He means exactly that. He didn’t say “some” will figure it out… He said NO ONE will know. That seems pretty simple and straight forward to me.
What WE are told to do is to be ready at all times for when He returns. That is our SOLE duty with regard to the end times. Whether it be our “personal” end time (death) or His return doesn’t matter… JUST BE READY ALL THE TIME.

There are a lot of data points taken for granted in this book
The assertion that the 1972 UNEP convention is supposedly the “covenant formed with many” in Daniel. It is very hard to take seriously in light of a fair and reasonable reading of Daniel 9 in context. In fact the author even admits to working backwards to find any/some event that would meet his timeline criteria…and he found that so that *must* be it. Slippery slope that is. This is a classic study mistake in starting with the end/conclusion and then solving for support in the beginning to justify the pre-meditated conclusion. If this is wrong/forced then what else is wrong or forced?
The assertions on specific european/american countries as all being a certain tribe of Israel is just speculation. Looking at heraldry and cherry picking verses out of the bible to match them up based on pictures. Then he still says that, well if you follow Torah you are Israel, it doesn’t matter what country you come from. Inconsistent
Saying it is just math to add up the years to acquire the ancient Jubilees timeline is oversimplifying the matter. There are so many pitfalls in trying to come to a perfect or close to perfect date from narrative and genealogical texts about the ancient Jubilee’s to modern day. The author is excited and hopeful and trying to glue it all together, but inevitably has to resort to some creative/speculative conclusions, drill in on this, overlook that to make it all work and it is just too many holes. It is quite obvious.
It is not elegant scholarly work. Its not written concisely and liberties are taken left and right in the assertions that make up the foundation of the theology, possible predictions, and calendar.
This book has some good date, honoring the feasts, using the ancient hebrew calendar, sabbath’s, etc, but it jumps off the deepend quite a bit and overstates the true facts/assertions.

Remembering The Sabbatical Years of 2016: Breaking The Curses By Obedience
August 29, 2015
Before Messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn authored his 2014 blockbuster bestseller “The Mystery of the Shemitah,” Hebraic Roots teacher Joseph Dumond was already hot on the subject with his initial book, “The Prophecies of Abraham,” in 2010. That publication came after several years of lecturing and writing articles on the prophetic subject of the biblical Sabbatical (Sh’mitah in Hebrew) years. This book represents the sequel, essentially explaining his arduous and meticulous research as he sorted through a mishmash of dating truths and errors from centuries of historians and chronologists. Without getting caught up with tedium, he leads the reader by the hand in layman’s English to show how he arrived at his determination of where we are on the Almighty’s prophetic clock. As detailed in his prior book, prophetic events are based on the recurring seven-year Sabbatical cycles, especially during these times in what the Bible refers to as “the end of the age.”
As mandated in the Torah, primarily in Lev. 25, the Sabbatical years were a time to let the land lie fallow and rest from agricultural activity. This agricultural inactivity also was to occur during the Jubilee years. The Sabbatical years also were a time when debts were to be forgiven. The Sh’mitah cycles also were intended as a biblical system initiating national economic corrections through the elimination of debt. The ancient Kingdom of Judah was exiled in Babylon for 70 years, one year for each of the Sabbatical years that went unobserved, 2Ch. 36:21. From this judgment, it is evident that the Most High YHWH, to whom Mr. Dumond refers with the spelling “Yehovah,” takes the neglect of this commandment very seriously.
Citing Gen. 6:3, the author asserts that mankind was given 120 Jubilee cycles from the time of Adam onward. Following a succession of seven Sabbatical cycles, totaling 49 years, Scriptural Law mandates the observance in the 50th year of a Jubilee year, a time when people were allow to repossess their family inheritances. The Jubilee cycles follow the pattern of the “seven sevens” established for the correct counting from the Feast of First Fruits to the Feast of Weeks, also known as Shavuot or Pentecost. Correcting a misunderstanding that has occurred among some Jewish and Christian theologians, Mr. Dumond shows that the Jubilee year, or 50th year, actually falls on the first year of the subsequent Sabbatical cycle — just as Pentecost always falls on a Sunday, the first day of the week, when the 50-day count has been properly counted.
The most recent Jubilee was pinpointed to 1996, meaning that the last one will occur in 2045. Mr. Dumond maintains that each Sabbatical cycle leading up to the Jubilee year will transpire as a period in which specific biblical curses will play out in response to the people’s disobedience against His commandments. The remaining Sabbatical cycles in this Jubilee cycle will be a time like no other in devastations that are expected to occur. This is addressed more fully in his other books.
One of his other books is an ebook on the blood moons that takes issue with conclusions reached by Mark Biltz and John Hagee in their respective books on the current blood moon tetrad. Their books address the significance of the four consecutive blood moons occurring on spring and fall feast days in 2014-2015. Mr. Dumond shows that when the “dark moons” are included with the blood moon tetrads, an even greater picture is given.
Another prophetic interpretation Mr. Dumond refutes is “Daniel’s Timeline.” This teaching, which has gained considerable circulation in recent years, concludes that 1917 and 1967, years in which Jerusalem was liberated, were Jubilee years. As stated in the Torah, during Jubilee years captives were to be set free. This theory also holds that 2017 is the next Jubilee year and will be the time of “the restitution of all things,” apparently a reference to Isa. 61:2 and Acts 3:21.
The years 701-700 BC, the author maintains, are universally recognized by biblical chronologists as consecutive 49th-year Sabbatical and 50th-year Jubilee years. This event was heralded by the prophet Isaiah to King Hezekiah during the Assyrian siege on Jerusalem, 2Kg. 19:29. The author identifies at least 11 other Sabbatical years from biblical and other historical records. Thus, the correct Sabbatical and Jubilee years can be extrapolated. Evident from these calculations is that the current Jewish calendar year, 2014-2015, is not an authentic Sabbatical Year; neither is 2015-2016 a genuine Jubilee year — regardless of what the rabbis have declared or whatever the pope has proclaimed.
There is no Scriptural reference as to when the Sabbatical year is to begin. Traditionally, Judaism recognizes the beginning of the Sabbatical year on Rosh Hashana, called “the head of the year.” This high holy day also marks the beginning of the civil year and is the first day of the biblical seventh month. In the Hebrew Scriptures, this feast is called Yom T’ruah, the Day of Trumpeting. It also serves as a prophetic announcement of the Messiah’s birth and glorious return. The date one of release in which people could return to their former land possessions during the Jubilee year apparently was to occur on the national day of redemption:on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, Lev. 25:9, 23:27. This falls after Yom T’ruah and the intervening Days of Awe.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Cahn maintains that according to Jewish rabbinic tradition, the release of debts occurs on the last day of the Sabbatical year: on Elul 29 of the Hebrew Calendar. This is the day before Rosh Hashana, Ethanim (or, Tishri) 1. Yom T’ruah, or Rosh Hashana, is the first of a succession of high holy days known as the fall feast days, occurring every year in or toward the autumnal season. It makes more sense, though, for the release of debts to come at the beginning of the Sabbatical year, or just before, rather than at the end. We now know that the specific years declared as Sh’mitah years on the Hebrew Calendar are actually one year ahead of the true Sabbatical years, as established by the Bible and corroborated by historical records in connection with biblical events. Nevertheless, despite the problems with the Hebrew Calendar, it should come as no surprise that the momentous Elul 29 events Mr. Cahn documents are occurring at the point of transition from the 6th into the 7th years of the Sabbatical cycle.
Mr. Dumond, however, argues that the Sabbatical year begins in the spring on the first day of Abib (called Nisan on the Hebrew Calendar), the first month on the Biblical Calendar. He bases this on a certain scholarly online article on the Sabbaticals and Jubilees he came across in his research. Despite the article’s scholarship, the Scriptures indicate otherwise, as shown in Isaiah’s prophecy in 2Kg. 19:29, which is reiterated in Isa. 37:30: “And this shall be the sign for you: this year you shall eat what grows of itself, and in the second year what springs from that. Then in the third year sow and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.” (ESV)
This description of a back-to-back 49th and 50th years in the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles only works if a civil year, beginning in the autumn and ending in the summer, is used. Beginning on Tishri 1, the Jewish civil year corresponds with the Holy Land’s agricultural cycle, which begins with the “former and latter rains,” Deu. 11:14, falling in the late fall and late winter seasons respectively. Using a Sabbatical cycle in which each year begins in the fall generally enables farmers to plant their crops in the fall and winter and harvest them in the spring and summer. If the Sabbatical cycle begins in the spring, farmers would not be able to plant seeds the previous fall in time for the annual rains. Thus, there would be little that could be grown that spring and summer, which are typically dry. This essentially restricts the planting of crops for an additional year. That would mean two consecutive years without planting crops when each Sabbatical year occurs – three years without major harvests each time there is a Jubilee. As shown in Isaiah’s pronouncement above, that is not what YHWH intends.
In any event, it is not my intention here to quibble with Mr. Dumond’s perspectives. Rather, I wish to commend him for providing us with a well-researched and thoughtfully written warning that perilous times are coming soon as the Bible prophesies. May the Most High have all the glory! Whereas I presume not every reader will necessarily agree with all of his doctrinal positions and prophetic interpretations, that should not be a hindrance to embracing his overall message. Citing numerous supporting Scriptural passages, he does not mince words in demonstrating that our unwavering obedience to the Almighty’s laws would be in our best interests if we wish to persevere through what is prophesied to happen before the Messiah’s return. Commandment keeping is our way of showing our faithful loyalty and devoted love to our Heavenly Father, not by any means done to supposedly “earn” our salvation. It seems we had better wake up and pay attention.

Joe does exhaustive researching , is not afraid to tackle any subject matter or controversies. He is respectful of other points of view but challenges discrepancies via sound scripture and detailed history.
This is a book that I had to read slowly and carefully and prayerfully. Scriptures are beginning to line up , the news became clearer and most importantly my obedience to the Torah and the voice of the Spirit in my individual life has taken on a new meaning.
We all need to get the message in this book out.

Another British-Israelism wolf in sheep’s clothing. The man claims he loves history, so it’s sad that he has so little understanding of it that he gladly accepts myths and legends as legitimate history. It’s even worse that he speculates out of wishful thinking and total ignorance. For example, he claims that the French are modern day Reubenites because they sleep with anything that moves and have unstable politics. Well, so to do the Italians. And if the Dutch make up the Zebulonites because of their shipping, what about the Hanseatic League, or the British, or the Genoans/Venetians or the Greeks, or has Dummond never heard of a man named Onassis?
My bachelor’s degree in biology comes with 40 credit hours (10 semester courses) in college history. So, even though I accept that not all Israelites are Jews, I am not willing to speculate as to what modern day countries make up the non-Jewish portion of Israel. There is no bona fide documentary or archaeological evidence to say Britain or the U.S.A. or any other modern nation except Israel is part of Israel.
Furthermore, I do not know of a single follower of British Israelism that doesn’t demand that Christians adhere to Mosaic Law- even though Christ has released Christians from that law.

The point of what Mr. Dumond says is correct, about how we should obey these laws in the bible, but has anyone actually double-checked his math?….because I am finding errors in it. Here are three so far: 1) calculating the birth of Shem from Noah as 502 instead of 500, where he uses the verse from Gen. 11 speaking about the birth of Arphaxad, instead of the birth of Shem. 2) the time between the dates of Shem to Arphaxad is reckoned according to Noah’s age and the events pertaining to the deluge….which causes a year difference in his math as well 3) Mr. Dumond is trying to fit the years from this miscalculation….to his belief that the first year Israel enters into the promise land as being a jubilee year. However, Ex. 25:2 does not say that it will be a jubilee year, but a sabbath year….which is before a jubilee year….which makes it another year off……….and makes his calculations based on incorrect days on both sides, which he is trying to match up.
Has anyone else noticed this?
We should obey the sabbath years, and the jubilee, and I agree with most else I have read in his book so far; but I think if we pull together on this, we might find out the truth of this matter.
All the best.

Reading [[ASIN:147977037X Remembering The Sabbatical Years of 2016: Breaking The Curses By Obedience]]” will challenge you. You will be tempted to reject what is presented, and share your rejection and contempt with others. Or, you may find it compelling and exciting but when you try to share it with others you will face their contempt and rejection. Then you will have to decide to drop it all and return to the comfort of their fellowship with the established understandings, or stand alone and continue your pursuit of the truth. This is not a simple debate where the truth can be established with a couple of scriptures seen in new depth, or clarified with a trip to the book shelf to consult Strong’s. It is a commitment to study and understand truth or reject a lie.
The questions of sighted moon vs conjunctive moon, what is the mark that YHVH has placed upon His people vs what is the mark of the beast, what are the Sabbaths-all of them, what does it mean “if you love Me you will obey My commandments, which commandments are we to obey and which are for those “in the land”, who are the “lost sheep” and why does Messiah leave the 99 to search for the one? Why are any of these things important …all of this and more are wrapped up in understanding the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. It is all integral and it has to come together in your own heart and understanding before you can really be comfortable with it.
We all have the baggage of our own understandings and traditions which must be set aside to even consider these questions. It can leave you feeling untethered and alone to set so much aside and lean not on our own understandings… but when we do, wow! so much more is revealed.
I can say that everyone who comes to this point and begins to try to share the Sabbatical and Jubilee years with others will face this over and over, each time we are greeted with that “look”, the out of hand rejection, the restatement of established doctrine and tradition. But I am beginning to realize that this is good because if I believe it, I must live it and living it is always going to be challenged. If I am not prepared to give a defense, a proper defense from the truth of scripture I surely am not prepared to live it. So, my sharing this now, with you is my step forward in faith toward living what I say I believe. The Sabbatical and Jubilee years are foundational to knowing our Creator and obeying His commandments. This book will jump start your search, but then you must pursue it for yourself.

Just finished the book-astounding and amazing message for this time! For years I wondered how we could ever figure out when the sabbatical years were and prayed about it-here is the answer! Powerful, prophetic in the correct meaning of the word.
This generation NEEDS to know this information! It explains why all the curses are present in high measure right now in this time of history. It proves that the laws of YHVH are for EVERY NATION once spoken and enacted by YHVH and EVERYWHERE His people live!
It shows the importance of the 4 categories of sabbaths-weekly, yearly, on the 7 year cycle, and jubilees. It is bringing hidden knowledge back from the dead!
There is prophecy of repentance in the last times. This book will surely be one of many factors leading to this repentance.

While critically reading this book, what impressed me the most about is that 1). There is no one else doing groundbreaking research in this field on the level Joseph Dumond is. 2). Moreover, there is no one who is taking the pains to break it all down for us in the nuts & bolts sense of the term like he is. It really is true that his books read at a Ph.D. level given how well-researched they are & how Joseph Dumond leaves no stone unturned. Undoubtedly he is, beyond all reasonable & unreasonable doubt, the “Researcher’s researcher.”
It is refreshing, beyond good & a very great thing indeed to finally have a book one can refer to that enables a person to keep the Sabbatical Years & Jubilee Years based on a biblical calendar vs. any of the existing Orthodox Jewish calendars that, at best, have made many departures from the original biblical model & a book that gives more than a sound basis for steering us all away from living one’s life according to the holidays Christians are found observing which have no relation whatsoever to the Feasts, Festivals, solemn occasions, Sabbatical & Jubilee Years YHWH would have us all be found keeping.
This book not only enables those who have ears to hear to live their life in accordance with how YHWH laid it out in Scripture to be living out our days, this book takes keeping the Feasts, Festivals & solemn occasions Karaite Jews, Hebraic Roots devotees, Messianic Jewish adherents & Nazarenes are already found to be keeping, to a whole new level. For many have THIS part of it down pat, but what EVERYONE is overlooking not just to a fault, but to a faultline, is keeping the Sabbatical & Jubilee Years. And yet, this is a very grievous thing in YHWH’s sight!
For to be found just keeping some of the Law, but not ALL of it… we are then “weighed in the balance & found wanting” (mene, mene, tekel, parson). This book, therefore, enables & empowers us to keep ALL of the Law & is long overdue! Then again, according to the 70 Shabua of Daniel, it may be RIGHT ON TIME! But praise be to YHWH either way that it is finally, at long last, available to us all for public consumption. May we not defer or neglect to obtain this book & put it into practice in our everyday lives, where the rubber hits the road!

I picked up this book because I was interested in the topic of the sabbath year. However, I quickly discovered that, even though the author claims to just be a blue-collar worker with not much education, he has thoroughly researched all aspects of history and he has an incredible depth of knowledge of the Scriptures — and this book covers a lot more than just the sabbath year.
One thing I appreciated was the chronological listing of years and dates from creation to the present, with explanations of how to interpret the Bible’s history with secular history.
I thought the author’s explanation of why all Christians — no, all people in the world — should obey God’s commands, was one of the best I’ve seen.
This book personally convicted me, as it showed me areas where I’m careless in my obedience to God’s commands. In addition, he showed why it is so important for us to share this message with others. It is the very definition of “loving our neighbor as ourselves.”

Joseph may refer to himself in the humblest of manners, but I am not the first to say (& surely will not be the last) that he is, in truth, a very gifted speaker, researcher & writer. In fact, Joseph is the RESEARCHER’s researcher and he is to all things Hebraic that Ray Yungen, another gifted author I know & have edited for, is to the New Age & its relationship to mainstream, evangelical & protestant Christianity. Both are whistle-blowers & well-aimed, finely honed arrow whistle-blowers at that! We need more people like Joseph & Ray in these Last Days. May YHWH raise more up just like the two of them. Dave Hunt is another one. And he is very pro-Israel.
The exhaustive research Joseph has done would give any learned and seasoned Hebraic Roots scholar or Orthodox Jewish scholar a run for his money. The Jews who are well-respected, well-read & deemed highly learned, who find much of what Joseph has to say to be anathema to them are Jews, far more often than not, who have already departed grossly from the biblical model when it comes to keeping the appointed times (whether it be the feasts, festivals & solemn occasions throughout the year that YHWH ordained, or the Sabbatical Years & the Year of Jubilee–of which YHWH also sanctioned) & do not wish to be weighed in the balance & found wanting.
So, rather than do that, they take potshots at Joseph & take so much of what he has to say out of context & make him ‘guilty by association,’ because of his religious background that was once a big part of him before YHWH began revealing the hidden & deep things to be found in the Word of God within an entire new framework (with YHWH being the bold new frame of reference & YHWH doing the work in Joseph) that Joseph’s prior background didn’t allow for. For when YHWH does a NEW thing in us, it cuts across everything we’ve learned thus far & opens up an entire new spiritual & panoramic vista to us we never would’ve known existed before. When YHWH decides to blow our minds & blow the lid off of things, He does it like no one & nothing else can.
It has been said there are seven layers to the paleo-Hebrew language–which is being rediscovered and history in the making as we speak. It was once thought to be entirely destroyed by anti-Semitic groups throughout history, but archeological findings & scholarly discoveries that have been made relatively recently in the broad scheme of things are proving empirically that this simply could not be further from the truth. We are living in exciting times as a result. But also in a time in which we must be more flat out for YHWH than ever if we are to survive what is to come & live to tell–or die for YHWH’s glory. May we not die for all the wrong reasons, in other words. I thank YHWH then for people like Joseph who obey His call, are watchmen in the spirit of the Book of Ezekiel who are willing to go above & beyond the call of duty–way more so than can be said for most of us. And… who warn us repeatedly, so that we will not see disgrace–whether we live or die.
That being said, Joseph is in it for all the right reasons & only cares about getting the truth out there so that we may no longer be “perishing for a lack of knowledge.” The Prophecies of Abraham could not be a more excellent example of this. But also Joseph’s online eBook, Time’s Up, No Excuses & taking things even deeper still, his up & coming book, Remembering the Sabbatical Year 2016. There is more to come even beyond that. But one must leave something to the imagination. I am amazed at all the colorful charts & graphs in this book as well that really lay it out for a person visually for those who are visual learners to better be able to connect the dots. Joseph really outdid himself chart & graph wise in this book & not just textually, given how RICH this book is in content.
This book is the first of its kind to provide the reader with a WEALTH of information both textually & visually to better understand why all the time, effort, blood, sweat & tears Joseph puts into his books & online newsletters in getting the information out to his readership, is so VITAL for anyone who comes in contact with his teachings to be aware of & be mindful of. Its also the first of its kind to WAKE PEOPLE up–both Jew, Israelite & Gentile alike–to what YHWH would have us know with regard to how hasatan (satan) has changed the times & the seasons & just how much that puts us in spiritual danger if we are not diligent in uncovering YHWH’s true, established times & seasons. We have been in the dark far too long on this matter & we must start realizing that unless we begin to hate what YHWH hates & love what YHWH loves, we are in serious trouble. We can’t just show our devotion to YHWH in a way that FEELS right to us. We must do it His way & on His timetable, forsaking our own ways & our own timetable! We must worship Him in spirit & in truth on His terms vs. on our own terms & in a way that is, never again, based on the traditions of men. Amen? Amen! Selah (pause & calmly think on that)
p.s. For those who prefer and enjoy teachings which plummet the layered depths of YHWH’s Word in an audio-visual format, Joseph’s DVD, The Chronological Order of Prophecies In the Jubilees is a very good place to start before going into all the heavy but absolutely ESSENTIAL reading Joseph’s books afford his readers.
The Prophecies of Abraham: Declaring the End from the Beginning, and from Ancient Times Things That Are Not Yet Done
September 11, 2012
I, too, like most of the “believers” in our present world, was asleep. Asleep to much of the Truth- and most definitely asleep to the Truth contained within this book! It is time to awaken from our sleep and put on Strength! We will need it as we close out this final chapter in the History of this world as we know it.
Joseph Dumond has written an excellent study on the Sabbath and Jubilee Cycles as they are contained in Scripture- uncovering many mysteries that have been hidden from YHVH’s people for many centuries.
This book has opened my understanding of Scripture and the world around us like no other book than perhaps Scripture itself. The detail and charts within this book are stunning to say the least- they completely remove any and all doubts of where we are in our Father’s Timeline. The details are stunning to see when they are laid out so plainly. I have never read a book as succinct at explaining a Biblical Truth as this one. The charts are many- and they are necessary for your understanding. So much documentation to back up the premise of this teaching!
It is beyond time to Wake Up! It is time to see what is staring back at us through the pages of Scripture and know that this very Divine plan that YHVH has orchestrated on our behalf is proceeding just as He saw it would.
We must begin at Genesis 1:1 all over again with this knowledge and apply it to all Scripture to uncover this mystery of 120 Jubilee Cycles that our Father implemented long ago after the Great Flood of Noah. We must come to understand the importance NOW of observing His Cycles of time which will include the next Sabbath Year of 2016. There is no time left to assume, to play church games or to trust that our “leaders” will lead us into all Truth. They have not done so nor can they. It is YOUR responsibility to seek out the Truth! It is then your responsibility to ask the Holy One to send you His Spirit TO lead you into that Truth, just as Scripture promises us He will! Once you read this book and grasp it’s content, you will then, in fact, be able to “prove all things, hold fast to that which is good.” (1 Thess. 5:21) This book? This book is GOOD!
My life has been changed by 3 books so far. The first being Scripture itself. The second being one in which I learned my identity. But this one- it shows me why and what to do about it like no other! It has forever changed my life!
I will forever be thankful for Mr. Dumond’s many endless sacrifices in bringing The Prophecies of Abraham to us; to those who hunger and thirst after Righteousness. For those who needed more than what had been offered thru the rituals of all the current “movements” be they the “church” or within “messianic-ism.” The Truth presented in this book has been there all along- waiting for someone with the right heart, strength and perseverance to uncover it. That person has been found and he has done a most excellent job in presenting that Truth thru The Prophecies of Abraham.
Few things in life change your perspective- This book has changed my perspective. I will never view Scripture the same way- nor our responsibility to our Father’s Loving Commands ever again.
Truly, you never know you’ve been asleep till you wake up- it’s time to wake up, folks. NOW is the time to know and understand these things. Now may be your last opportunity to do so.
Don’t wait- order this book now.

Torah Portion
Torah Portions
We read through the entire Torah along with the Prophets and the New Testament, once over the course of 3 1/2 years. Or according to the Sabbatical Cycle which means we read it all twice over a 7-year period. This allows us to cover more in-depth rather than being rushed to cover as much as is covered on an annual basis. We allow all to comment and take part in the discussions.
Septennial Torah Portion
If you go to Torah Portion at our archived section, you can then go to the 7th year which is the 7th year of the Sabbatical Cycle, the one we are in now, as we state at the top of every News Letter. There you can scroll down to the proper date, and see that this Shabbat we could very well be midrashing about:
Deuteronomy 28-29
2 Chronicles 17-25
Revelation 8-12
As we approach the end of the year we are doubling up on our Torah Portions so that we can fit them all in before the year ends. We thought we had an Adar Bet and four more weeks. I am not sure we do so we are going to double up.
If you missed last week’s exciting discoveries as we studied that section, you can go and watch past Shabbats on our media section.

Join Our Sabbath Meetings
There are many people in need of fellowship and who are sitting at home on the Sabbath with no one to talk to or debate with. I want to encourage all of you to join us on Shabbat, and to invite others to come and join us as well. If the time is not convenient then you can listen to the teaching and the midrash after on our YouTube channel.
What are we doing and why do we teach this way?
We are going to discuss both sides of an issue and then let you choose. It is the work of the Ruach (Spirit) to direct and to teach you.
The medieval commentator Rashi wrote that the Hebrew word for wrestle (avek) implies that Jacob was “tied”, for the same word is used to describe knotted fringes in a Jewish prayer shawl, the tzitzityot. Rashi says, “thus is the manner of two people who struggle to overthrow each other, that one embraces the other and knots him with his arms”.
Our intellectual wrestling has been replaced by a different kind of struggle. We are Wrestling with Yehovah as we grapple with His Word. It is an intimate act, symbolizing a relationship in which Yehovah and I and you are bound together. My wrestling is a struggle to discover what Yehovah expects of us, and we are “tied” to the One who assists us in that struggle.
Today, many say Israel means “Champion of God”, or better — the “Wrestler of God”.
Our Torah sessions each Shabbat teaches you and encourages you to constantly challenge, question, argue against, as well as view alternative views and explanations of the Word. In other words, we are to “wrestle with the Word” to get to the truth. Jews worldwide believe that you need to wrestle with the Word and constantly challenge Dogma, Theology, and views or else you will never get to the Truth.
We are not like most churches where “The preacher talks and everyone listens.” We encourage everyone to participate, to question and to contribute what they know on the subject being discussed. We want you to be a champion wrestler of the Word of Yehovah. We want you to wear the title of Israel, knowing that you not only know but are capable of explaining why you know the Torah to be true with logic and facts.
We have a few rules though. Let others talk and listen. There is no discussion about UFO’s Nephilim, Vaccines or conspiracy-type subjects. We have people from around the world with different world views. Not everyone cares who is the President of any particular country. Treat each other with respect as Fellow wrestlers of the word. Some of our subjects are hard to understand and require you to be mature and if you do not know, then listen to gain knowledge and understanding and hopefully wisdom. The very things you are commanded to ask Yehovah for and He gives to those who ask.
Jas 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.
We hope you can invite those who want to keep Torah to come and join us by hitting the link below. It is almost like a Torah teaching fellowship talk show with people from around the world taking part and sharing their insights and understandings.
We start off with some music and then some prayers and it’s as though you were sitting around the kitchen back in Newfoundland having a cup of coffee and all of us enjoying each other’s company. I hope you will grace us with your company someday.
Sabbath services begin at 12:30 PM EDT where we will be doing prayers songs and teaching from this hour.
Shabbat Services will begin at about 1:15 pm Eastern.
On the Holy Day, Shavuot, we will be having two meetings. One at 10 AM Eastern and the afternoon will be 2 PM Eastern. Look forward to seeing you all there.
We look forward to you joining our family and getting to know us as we get to know you.
Joseph Dumond is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

The Sabbatical Year Ends Aviv 1
The Sabbatical Year Ends Aviv 1
This means that once we know when the 1st day of the New Year is, you can begin planting. But because we do not know whether or not the barley will be ripe at any particular time, we must wait to discover if we have a 12th or 13th month this year. It does not matter whether you are in the southern or northern hemisphere. Aviv 1 is the same date around the world. Yehovah’s laws do not change and we all must be diligent in obeying them if we desire to break the curse that are now upon the world. Obey so you and your family can be free of the chains of sin and know His Freedom.
The Year goes from Aviv to Aviv.
Exo 12:2 This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.
You are not to plant or harvest in this Sabbatical year from Aviv 1, 2023, to Aviv 1, 2024.
You are not to plant.
Lev 25:4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest to the land, a sabbath for Jehovah. You shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard.
You are not to harvest.
Lev 25:5 You shall not reap that which grows of its own accord of your harvest, neither gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It is a year of rest to the land.
You are to stock up on food in the sixth year.
Lev 25:20 And if you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow nor gather in our increase!
Lev 25:21 Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.
Lev 25:22 And you shall sow the eighth year, and eat of old fruit until the ninth year; until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old fruit.
You are to read the Entire Torah on the 1st day of Sukkot in the Sabbatical Year.
Deu 31:9 And Moses wrote this Law and delivered it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and to all the elders of Israel.
Deu 31:10 And Moses commanded them, saying: At the end of seven years, at the set time of the year of release, in the Feast of Tabernacles,
Deu 31:11 when all Israel has come to appear before Jehovah your God in the place which He shall choose, you shall read this Law before all Israel in their hearing.
Deu 31:12 Gather the people, men and women and the little ones, and your stranger who is within your gates, so that they may hear and that they may learn and fear Jehovah your God, and be careful to do all the words of this Law,
Deu 31:13 and that their sons who have not known may hear and learn to fear Jehovah your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over Jordan to possess it.
You are to forgive debts in the Sabbatical Year.
Deu 15:1 At the end of every seven years you shall make a release.
Deu 15:2 And this is the manner of the release. Every man who has a loan to his neighbor shall release it. He shall not exact it from his neighbor, or from his brother, because it is called Jehovah’s release.

What was Yeshu’s Ministry like?
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
What did he commands us to do?
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them… 20: Teaching them to observe all things
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. :16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; :17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; :18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yeshua for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. :39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
FEEDING AND TENDING THE FLOCK
Joh 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
Joh 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Joh 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

DEFINATIONS
LOVE:
25 Godly Love agapaō ag-ap-ah’-o
Perhaps from ἄγαν agan (much; or compare [H5689]); to love (in a social or moral sense): – (be-) love (-ed). Compare G5368.
5368 Friendship Φιλέω phileō fil-eh’-o
From G5384; to be a friend to (fond of [an individual or an object]), that is, have affection for (denoting personal attachment, as a matter of sentiment or feeling; while G25 is wider, embracing especially the judgment and the deliberate assent of the will as a matter of principle, duty and propriety: the two thus stand related very much as G2309 and G1014, or as G2372 and G3563 respectively; the former being chiefly of the heart and the latter of the head); specifically to kiss (as a mark of tenderness): – kiss, love.
FEED:
G1006 βόσκω boskō bos’-ko
A prolonged form of a primary verb (compare G977 and G1016); to pasture; by extension to fodder; reflexively to graze: – feed, keep.
4165 ποιμαίνω poimainō poy-mah’ee-no
From G4166; to tend as a shepherd (or figuratively superviser): – feed (cattle), rule.
SHEEP
G721 ἀρνίον arnion ar-nee’-on
Diminutive from G704; a lambkin: – lamb.
G4263 πρόβατον probaton prob’-at-on
Properly the neuter of a presumed derivative of G4260; something that walks forward (a quadruped), that is, (specifically) a sheep (literally or figuratively): – sheep ([-fold]).
The Three Questions
- lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love (REPLY) Feed my lambs.
Godly Love? Brotherly love. Tend my Lambs!
- lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. , (REPLY) Feed my sheep.!
Godly Love? Brotherly Love. Feed my Sheep!
- lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? … that I love thee. (REPLY) Jesus saith unto him, Tend my sheep.
Do you really have Brotherly Love? Tend my Sheep!
Feeding and tending Yeshua’s lambs and sheep is the function of the Pastor. So how d we do that?
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
:12 For the 1.)perfecting of the saints, for 2.)the work of the ministry, for the 3.) edifying of the body of Yeshua:
:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Yeshua:
:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Yeshua:
:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Now, Sooner or later you either have to deal with John 15 or totally ignore it.
I Am the True Vine
Joh 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. :3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. :4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. :5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. :6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. :8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. :9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. :10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. :11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. :12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. :13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. :14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
This may be crude but the summation of John 15 is to bear fruit or burn.
So, what is our ministry really all about?
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
The function of the 5 fold ministry, especially the Pastor is to be Anointed to:
- Preach the gospel,
- Heal the brokenhearted,
- Deliverance for the captives,
- Sight for the blind,
- Set at liberty them that are bruised,
I think this should be our focus. Blessings
Aviv Barley
Aviv Barley
As reported last week, Becca Biderman, on January 11, 2024, shared the following report about the state of the Barley. The heads have just popped out. Watch the video again and learn to begin to be the watchman you are. As of this posting on January 27, 2023, we now have either 4 or 5 more weeks until Wave Shead Day. That is 28-35 more days from the time the heads first popped out. This is day 79 or 86. Will we have ripe barley ready in time for Wave Sheaf Day? This is the question.
Let me now share with you the grain growth chart so you can see just how many days are needed until the barley is ripe.
In the video you can see the barley is just heading. It is approximately in the day 51 range on our charts. We cannot state categorically that the barley will be ripe in so many days.
But….
We cannot run around with our heads in the sand, ignoring the obvious.
Shabbat January 13, 2024, was day one of the 12th month. When we look at the calendar, this next month will be a 30-day month by default.
Knowing this 12th month is 30 days long makes it easier to know potentially when Passover will be if next month is indeed the 1st month. Passover will be on the 15th day beginning the night before. The 15th day is February 26, 2024. This all depends on the Barley being Aviv.
From this Sabbath until the potential Wave Sheaf Day on March 3, 2024 is 43 days. We have 43 days for the barley to be in the state of Aviv, ready to be roasted and offered as the first fruits of the land on Wave Sheaf Day March 3, 2024. Looking at our charts above if we add these next 43 days to just the 45 day mark when the barley is booting or in the in the ear then the barley would be in the dough stages at 88 days.
But if the state of the barley this next month is not Aviv, then we must wait until March 31, 2024, to make the Wave Offering. That is 71 days from Shabbat, January 20, 2024. If we do that, then the barley, according to our charts, would be 71 + 45 = 116. This would be 17 days past the ripening stage on the charts. Will there be enough barley to make an offering? That is the next question. An omer is about the size of a dry measure of grains to fill a large salad bowl.
2023 was the hottest year on record. 2024 is expected to be even hotter. This will affect the growing seasons, making them earlier than before.
It is time to read the instructions again for the Wave Offering.
The Feast of Firstfruits
Lev 23:9 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
Lev 23:10 Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When you have come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap the harvest of it, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.
Lev 23:11 And he shall wave the sheaf before Jehovah to be received for you. On the next day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
Lev 23:12 And you shall offer that day when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering to Jehovah.
Lev 23:13 And its food offering shall be two-tenths part of fine flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to Jehovah for a sweet savor. And the drink offering of it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin.
Lev 23:14 And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor green ears, until the same day, until you have brought an offering to your God. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
It is crucial to get this right because the day you begin to cut the barley is the same day you start to count to the Feast of Shavuot.
Deu 16:9 You shall count seven weeks to yourselves. Begin to count the seven weeks from the time you began to put the sickle to the grain.
We also know that the barley was not harvested until after the Sabbath was over. At sunset Saturday evening, they would go out to harvest the first fruits of the barley. It was a big deal and the whole community took part in it. Read what is stated in the Babylonian Talmud. But as you read, know it was the Pharisees who wrote the Talmud and the Sadducees are portrayed as the bad guys. The Sadducees today would be called the Karaites. The Pharisees were pushing for the start of count to begin on the first day of the 7 days of Unleavened Bread and not the first day of the week. So keep that understanding as you read the following.
1 Lev. 23:10
The process itself is elaborated at length in the Talmud, which states,2
How do they do [it]? Delegates of the Beit Din go forth on the eve of the festival day (Yom Tov) and make bundles while [the sheaves] are connected to the ground so that it will be easy to reap. All the residents of the adjacent towns assembled there, so that it will be reaped with great affair. As soon as it was dark, [the reaper] says to [the people], “Has the sun set?” [The people] say, “Yes!” “Has the sun set?” [The people] say, “Yes!” “This sickle?” [The people] say, “Yes!” “This sickle?” [The people] say, “Yes!” “This basket?” [The people] say, “Yes!” “This basket.” [The people] say, “Yes!” On the Sabbath, he says to [the people], “This Sabbath?” [The people] say, “Yes!” [He says to the people], “Shall I reap?” And [the people] say to him, “Reap!” [He says to the people], “Shall I reap?” And [the people] say to him, “Reap!” [He asks a question] three times for every thing, and [the people] say to him, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” Why so? Because of the Boethusians (Sadduccees) who would say that the omer is not reaped on the conclusion of the festival day (i.e., after Nisan 15).

Moshe ben Maimon (Maimonides) wrote,3
How was [the offering] brought? On the day before the festival of Pesach, the agents of the court would go out [to the field] and tie [the barley] into bundles while it was still attached to the ground so that it would be easy to reap. [On the evening after Pesach,] all [of the inhabitants] of all the neighboring villages would gather so that it would be reaped with much flourish. They would have three men reap three se’ah of barley in three baskets with three sickles.
When it became dark, the reapers would ask those standing [in attendance]: “Has the sun set?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Has the sun set?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Has the sun set?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Is this a sickle?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Is this a sickle?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Is this a sickle?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Is this a basket?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Is this a basket?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Is this a basket?” They would answer: “Yes.” If it was the Sabbath, they would ask: “Is it the Sabbath?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Is it the Sabbath?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Is it the Sabbath?” They would answer: “Yes.” Afterwards, they would ask: “Should I reap?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Should I reap?” They would answer: “Yes.” “Should I reap?” They would answer: “Yes.”
Three [questions and answers] were given regarding each matter. Why was all this necessary? Because of those who erred who departed from the community of Israel in the Second Temple [era]. They maintained that the Torah’s expression [Leviticus 23:11]: “From the day following the Sabbath” [should be understood literally, as referring to] the Sabbath of the week. Nevertheless, according to the Oral Tradition, [our Sages] derived that the intent is not the Sabbath, but the festival. And so, was understood at all times by the prophets and the Sanhedrin in every generation. They would have the omer waved on the sixteenth of Nisan whether it fell during the week or on the Sabbath.

Alfred Edersheim wrote,4
When the time for cutting the sheaf had arrived, that is, on the evening of the 15th of Nisan (even though it were a Sabbath), just as the sun went down, three men, each with a sickle and basket, formally set to work.
But in order clearly to bring out all that was distinctive in the ceremony, they first asked of the bystanders three times each of these questions: ‘Has the sun gone down?’ ‘With this sickle?’ ‘Into this basket?’ ‘On this Sabbath (or first Passover-day)?’—and, lastly, ‘Shall I reap?’ Having each time been answered in the affirmative, they cut down barley to the amount of one ephah, or ten omers, or three seahs, which is equal to about three pecks and three pints of our English measure. The ears were brought into the Court of the Temple…

The Jewish Encyclopedia notes,5
The reaping was done with much ceremony. Messengers, sent by the bet din to the chosen field on the day preceding the Passover Feast, drew the heads of the stalks together in sheaves and tied them in order to facilitate the work of the reapers. Then when the hour for gathering came the reapers thrice asked permission to reap; this was done in order to impress upon the Boethusians that this was the proper time for the gathering of the ‘omer (Men. vi. 3).

Long story short, the Beit Din assigns a trustworthy delegate (or three delegates) with the task of reaping the grain on Nisan 16 and bringing it to the Temple.
The Feast of Unleavened Bread is seven days long, so unless I am mistaken, one could appear at the Temple at any point during that period to fulfill the mitzvah. Furthermore, one did not have to remain in Jerusalem during the entire seven days after fulfilling their obligation.

In fact, all the Holy Days are determined by this singular event, declaring which month is the month of Aviv.
To help us know at what stage the barley is to be harvested we must look at the laws for making a grain offering. In them, we are told what to do with the grain and what stage of growth is acceptable to an offering. Green ears of grains are not yet fully ripe, so they must be roasted in order to bring to that stage when they can then be ground into flour and then offered as a Wave Offering.
Laws for Grain Offerings
Lev 2:1 And when anyone will offer a food offering to Jehovah, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it.
Lev 2:2 And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. And he shall take out of it his handful of flour and its oil, with all its frankincense. And the priest shall burn the memorial of it on the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Jehovah.
Lev 2:3 And the rest of the food offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’, most holy of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire.
Lev 2:4 And if you bring a sacrifice of a food offering baked in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.
Lev 2:5 And if your offering is a food offering on the griddle, your offering shall be of fine flour unleavened, mixed with oil.
Lev 2:6 You shall break it in pieces and pour oil on it. It is a food offering.
Lev 2:7 And if your offering is a food offering in the frying pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.
Lev 2:8 And you shall bring the food offering that is made of these things to Jehovah. And when it is presented to the priest, he shall bring it to the altar.
Lev 2:9 And the priest shall take from the food offering a memorial of it, and shall burn it on the altar. It is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Jehovah.
Lev 2:10 And that which is left of the food offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons: it is most holy of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire.
Lev 2:11 Any food offering which you shall bring to Jehovah shall not be made with leaven. For you shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of Jehovah made by fire.
Lev 2:12 As an offering of the firstfruits, you shall bring them to Jehovah. But they shall not be burned on the altar for a sweet savor.
Lev 2:13 And every sacrifice of your food offering shall you season with salt. And you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your food offering. You shall offer salt with all your offerings.
Lev 2:14 And if you bring a food offering of your firstfruits to Jehovah, green ears roasted by fire, grains of a garden, you shall bring near for a food offering your firstfruits,
Lev 2:15 And you shall put oil on it and lay frankincense on it. It is a food offering.
Lev 2:16 And the priest shall burn it as incense with its memorial offering from its grains and from its oil, besides all its frankincense, a fire offering to Jehovah.
If you are new to the barley teachings then I encourage you to read the following.
Norman Willis of Nazarene Israel wrote the following, and I encourage you all to go and read it and understand why we have the current barley wars. He is correct that one of the witness groups changed their understanding of what Aviv is barley. Starting in 2016, when Nehemia retired from searching for the barley, those who took over decided you must have fields of barley before you could wave it. Since then, they have begun to teach everyone that they must have ripe barley so everyone can make the wave offering. That is why in 2023, Devorah was two months later than we were in keeping the Holy Days. Michael Rood, Nehemia and Keith Johnson all kept the Holy Days one month later than we did, breaking from Devorah’s idealogy.
Determining the new month in the Mishnaic period
Between 70 and 1178 CE, the observation-based calendar was gradually replaced by a mathematically calculated one.
What was the original method for determining the calendar? It obviously was the sighting of the moon and the barley, which was slowly, over time, replaced by the calculated calendar in the 12th century. In 1178, Rambam published the Mishneh Torah, promoting unity amongst all the Jews worldwide. In order to get that unity, some had to give up sighting the moon and looking for the barley and use only the calculated method.
You will also read how various person wrote advising that the Feast of Trumpets not land on a certain day. This is the development of the postponement rules.
Determining the new month in the Mishnaic period
The Tanakh contains several commandments related to the keeping of the calendar and the lunar cycle, and records changes that have taken place to the Hebrew calendar. Numbers 10:10 stresses the importance in Israelite religious observance of the new month (Hebrew: ראש חודש, Rosh Chodesh, “beginning of the month”): “… in your new moons, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt-offerings…”[98] Similarly in Numbers 28:11.[99] “The beginning of the month” meant the appearance of a new moon, and in Exodus 12:2.[100] “This month is to you”.
According to the Mishnah and Tosefta, in the Maccabean, Herodian, and Mishnaic periods, new months were determined by the sighting of a new crescent, with two eyewitnesses required to testify to the Sanhedrin to having seen the new lunar crescent at sunset.[101] The practice in the time of Gamaliel II (c. 100 CE) was for witnesses to select the appearance of the moon from a collection of drawings that depicted the crescent in a variety of orientations, only a few of which could be valid in any given month.[102] These observations were compared against calculations.[39]
At first the beginning of each Jewish month was signaled to the communities of Israel and beyond by fires lit on mountaintops, but after the Samaritans began to light false fires, messengers were sent.[103] The inability of the messengers to reach communities outside Israel before mid-month High Holy Days (Succot and Passover) led outlying communities to celebrate scriptural festivals for two days rather than one, observing the second feast-day of the Jewish diaspora because of uncertainty of whether the previous month ended after 29 or 30 days.[104] It has been noted that the procedures described in the Mishnah and Tosefta are all plausible procedures for regulating an empirical lunar calendar.[105] Fire-signals, for example, or smoke-signals, are known from the pre-exilic Lachish ostraca.[106] Furthermore, the Mishnah contains laws that reflect the uncertainties of an empirical calendar. Mishnah Sanhedrin, for example, holds that when one witness holds that an event took place on a certain day of the month, and another that the same event took place on the following day, their testimony can be held to agree, since the length of the preceding month was uncertain.[107] Another Mishnah takes it for granted that it cannot be known in advance whether a year’s lease is for twelve or thirteen months.[108] Hence it is a reasonable conclusion that the Mishnaic calendar was actually used in the Mishnaic period.
The accuracy of the Mishnah’s claim that the Mishnaic calendar was also used in the late Second Temple period is less certain. One scholar has noted that there are no laws from Second Temple period sources that indicate any doubts about the length of a month or of a year. This led him to propose that the priests must have had some form of computed calendar or calendrical rules that allowed them to know in advance whether a month would have 30 or 29 days, and whether a year would have 12 or 13 months.[109]
The fixing of the calendar
Between 70 and 1178 CE, the observation-based calendar was gradually replaced by a mathematically calculated one.[110]
The Talmuds indicate at least the beginnings of a transition from a purely empirical to a computed calendar. Samuel of Nehardea (c. 165–254) stated that he could determine the dates of the holidays by calculation rather than observation.[111] According to a statement attributed to Yose (late 3rd century), Purim could not fall on a Sabbath nor a Monday, lest Yom Kippur fall on a Friday or a Sunday.[112] This indicates that, by the time of the redaction of the Jerusalem Talmud (c. 400 CE), there were a fixed number of days in all months from Adar to Elul, also implying that the extra month was already a second Adar added before the regular Adar. Elsewhere, Shimon ben Pazi is reported to have counselled “those who make the computations” not to set Rosh Hashana or Hoshana Rabbah on Shabbat.[113] This indicates that there was a group who “made computations” and controlled, to some extent, the day of the week on which Rosh Hashana would fall.
There is a tradition, first mentioned by Hai Gaon (died 1038 CE), that Hillel II was responsible for the new calculated calendar with a fixed intercalation cycle “in the year 670 of the Seleucid era” (i.e., 358–359 CE). Later writers, such as Nachmanides, explained Hai Gaon’s words to mean that the entire computed calendar was due to Hillel II in response to persecution of Jews. Maimonides (12th century) stated that the Mishnaic calendar was used “until the days of Abaye and Rava” (c. 320–350 CE), and that the change came when “the land of Israel was destroyed, and no permanent court was left.” Taken together, these two traditions suggest that Hillel II (whom they identify with the mid-4th-century Jewish patriarch Ioulos, attested in a letter of the Emperor Julian,[114] and the Jewish patriarch Ellel, mentioned by Epiphanius[115]) instituted the computed Hebrew calendar because of persecution. H. Graetz[116] linked the introduction of the computed calendar to a sharp repression following a failed Jewish insurrection that occurred during the rule of the Christian emperor Constantius and Gallus. Saul Lieberman argued instead that the introduction of the fixed calendar was due to measures taken by Christian Roman authorities to prevent the Jewish patriarch from sending calendrical messengers.[117]
Both the tradition that Hillel II instituted the complete computed calendar, and the theory that the computed calendar was introduced due to repression or persecution, have been questioned.[118][119][120] Furthermore, two Jewish dates during post-Talmudic times (specifically in 506 and 776) are impossible under the rules of the modern calendar, indicating that some of its arithmetic rules were established in Babylonia during the times of the Geonim (7th to 8th centuries).[121] Most likely, the procedure established in 359 involved a fixed molad interval slightly different from the current one,[t] Rosh Hashana postponement rules similar but not identical to current rules,[u] and leap months were added based on when Passover preceded a fixed cutoff date rather than through a repeated 19-year cycle.[51] The Rosh Hashana rules apparently reached their modern form between 629 and 648, the modern molad interval was likely fixed in 776, while the fixed 19-year cycle also likely dates to the late 8th century.[51]
Except for the epoch year number (the fixed reference point at the beginning of year 1, which at that time was one year later than the epoch of the modern calendar), the calendar rules reached their current form by the beginning of the 9th century, as described by the Persian Muslim astronomer Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi in 823.[122][123] Al-Khwarizmi’s study of the Jewish calendar describes the 19-year intercalation cycle,[124] the rules for determining on what day of the week the first day of the month Tishrei shall fall, the interval between the Jewish era (creation of Adam) and the Seleucid era, and the rules for determining the mean longitude of the sun and the moon using the Jewish calendar.[122][123] Not all the rules were in place by 835.[110]
In 921, Aaron ben Meïr proposed changes to the calendar. Though the proposals were rejected, they indicate that all of the rules of the modern calendar (except for the epoch) were in place before that date. In 1000, the Muslim chronologist al-Biruni described all of the modern rules of the Hebrew calendar, except that he specified three different epochs used by various Jewish communities being one, two, or three years later than the modern epoch.[45]
In 1178, Maimonides included all the rules for the calculated calendar and their scriptural basis, including the modern epochal year, in his work Mishneh Torah. He wrote[125] that he had chosen the epoch from which calculations of all dates should be as “the third day of Nisan in this present year … which is the year 4938 of the creation of the world” (22 March 1178).[126] Today, these rules are generally used by Jewish communities throughout the world.
Other calendars
Outside of Rabbinic Judaism, evidence shows a diversity of practice.
Karaite calendar
Karaites use the lunar month and the solar year, but the Karaite calendar differs from the current Rabbinic calendar in a number of ways. The Karaite calendar is identical to the Rabbinic calendar used before the Sanhedrin changed the Rabbinic calendar from the lunar, observation based, calendar to the current, mathematically based, calendar used in Rabbinic Judaism today.
In the lunar Karaite calendar, the beginning of each month, the Rosh Chodesh, can be calculated, but is confirmed by the observation in Israel of the first sightings of the new moon.[127] This may result in an occasional variation of a maximum of one day, depending on the inability to observe the new moon. The day is usually “picked up” in the next month.
The addition of the leap month (Adar II) is determined by observing in Israel the ripening of barley at a specific stage (defined by Karaite tradition) (called aviv),[128] rather than using the calculated and fixed calendar of rabbinic Judaism. Occasionally this results in Karaites being one month ahead of other Jews using the calculated rabbinic calendar. The “lost” month would be “picked up” in the next cycle when Karaites would observe a leap month while other Jews would not.
Furthermore, the seasonal drift of the rabbinic calendar is avoided, resulting in the years affected by the drift starting one month earlier in the Karaite calendar.
Also, the four rules of postponement of the rabbinic calendar are not applied, since they are not mentioned in the Tanakh. This can affect the dates observed for all the Jewish holidays in a particular year by one or two days.
In the Middle Ages many Karaite Jews outside Israel followed the calculated rabbinic calendar, because it was not possible to retrieve accurate aviv barley data from the land of Israel. However, since the establishment of the State of Israel, and especially since the Six-Day War, the Karaite Jews that have made aliyah can now again use the observational calendar.
Deleavening Your Home
Here is a reminder from Chabad.org about how to go about cleaning your house of leaven.
Cleaning the House
Simply stated (though not so easily done) — give your home a thorough, top-to-bottom, cleaning. Vacuum the carpets and floors, wipe clean the cupboards and bookshelves. Make sure you get into all those hard-to-reach places: under the sofa cushions, the spaces between the floorboards. Move aside furniture and kitchen appliances to get behind and underneath. Bottom line: if that proverbial cookie crumb could be hiding there, go after it!
As each area of the home gets cleaned, make sure that everyone knows that it’s “kosher for Passover” and absolutely off-limits for any food to be brought in there. Practical advice: start with the bedrooms, then proceed with the living room and other common rooms, leaving the dining room and kitchen for last, so that you can use these spaces for eating chametz as close as possible to the “deadline.”
Other places that need to be cleaned: office, car, pocketbook — any space that is yours by ownership, lease, or right of use.
Places you don’t have to clean: a) Rooms and areas where you’re absolutely certain that no food was ever brought. b) Rooms and areas that will be sold (see step 5).
Cleaning Checklist
The following is a checklist of all areas that should be searched well and thoroughly cleaned from all traces of chametz.

Deleavening Your Home
It is now just past the full moon. In two months time we will begin to celebrate Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread. We read in Mt 24:45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
So with the Passover season approaching and with many new people learning the Torah and wanting to keep the Holy Days we shall begin now to teach on these.
Once again I am telling you to turn off Oprah and Dr. Phil and to start to read you bible. There is nothing on TV worth watching. Many of you are sharing this News letter and encouraging others to read it and to prove those things said here true or false. I do thank you. But in reality it is those who have come here and learnt the truth that are thanking you. You have saved their lives.
But once you have been turned on to the truth, do not just read what is written here. Search other sites and other groups and learn also from them, what is true and what is not true.
I keep telling you how little time is left and so I am trying to give you as much information as I can without you being over whelmed. Turn off the TV and this will help.
We now have just two months to Passover.
Immediately after the Passover comes a festival that shows us the next step in the plan of Yahweh. After Yahshua is sacrificed as the Passover Lamb, and we have been forgiven for our sins, how do we continue to avoid sin, since we must go on living in newness of life? How do we live as Yahweh’s redeemed people? We find the remarkable answer in the symbolism of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
When Yahweh freed Israel from slavery in Egypt, He told His people that for “seven days you shall eat unleavened bread” (Exodus 12:15). Verse 39 further explains: “And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for themselves.”
The leavening process, which makes bread rise, takes time. The Israelites had no time to spare when they left Egypt, so they baked and ate flat bread. What started out as a necessity continued for a week. Yahweh appropriately named this time the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Leviticus 23:6), or Days of Unleavened Bread (Acts 12:3).
When Yeshua came to earth as a human, He observed this seven-day festival’ sometimes called the Feast of Passover by the Jews because of the proximity of the Passover to the Days of Unleavened Bread. Yeshua kept it as a child and later as an adult (Luke 2:41; Matthew 26:17). The early Church, kept it as well.
Yahweh gave His earliest instructions concerning this festival to the Israelites as they prepared to leave Egypt. “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD’ a lasting ordinance. For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut off from Israel. On the first day hold a sacred assembly, and another one on the seventh day. Do no work at all on these days, except to prepare food for everyone to eat-that is all you may do” (Exodus 12:14-16, New International Version).
This is where we get the expression of spring cleaning from De leavening our homes.
Each year as the Israelites observed this feast, it reminded them of Yahweh’s deliverance of their forefathers from Egypt. The Creator instructed, “Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because it was on this very day that I brought your divisions out of Egypt” (verse 17, NIV). The exodus from Egypt remains as a foundational reason for observing this feast today. Just as Yahweh delivered ancient Israel, He delivers us from our sins and difficulties.
Now notice Yeshua’s teaching about leaven, which expands the meaning of this feast.
During Yahshua’s ministry He performed two miracles in which a few fish and loaves of bread fed thousands of people. After one of these incidents, when His disciples had gone around the Sea of Galilee, they forgot to bring bread with them. So Yeshua told them, “Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
The disciples thought Yeshua was referring to their lack of bread. However, He was using the occasion to teach them by calling on the symbolism of leaven. Yeshua asked them, “How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then the disciples “understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees” (Matthew 16:5-12, NASB).
Some of the members of the religious establishment of Yeshua’s day appeared to be righteous, yet they secretly practiced sinful behavior. Yeshua let them know He knew their hearts. They may have appeared righteous to other people, “but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness” (Matthew 23:28).
The Days of Unleavened Bread remind us that with Yahweh’s help we must remove and avoid all types of sin “symbolized by leaven” in all areas of our life.
Symbolically we do this by cleaning our homes and our places of business and our cars and removing any bread or bread products that contain leaven or yeast from them.
During the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the apostle Paul taught the same spiritual lessons as Yeshua, invoking the comparison of sin to leaven. In the context of reprimanding the Corinthian congregation for its divisions, jealousies and tolerance of sexual misconduct, Paul wrote: “Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Yeshua, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth” (1 Corinthians 5:6-8).
The church at Corinth was obviously and unmistakably keeping the Feast of Unleavened Bread, to which Paul repeatedly alluded. However, Paul used the Corinthians’ faithful obedience in keeping the feast physically (removing leaven from their homes) as a basis to encourage them to celebrate this feast with proper understanding of its spiritual intent.
Today removing leaven from our homes for seven days reminds us that we, too, through prayer and Yahweh’s help and understanding, must recognize, expel and avoid sin. The Feast of Unleavened Bread is thus a time of personal reflection. We should meditate on our attitudes and conduct and ask Yahweh to help us recognize and overcome our shortcomings.
Paul spoke of this much-needed self-reflection in 2 Corinthians 13:5 when he told the Corinthian church: “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Yeshua the Messiah is in you, unless indeed you are disqualified.”
Paul explained the significance of the phrase “Yeshua the Messiah is in you” in Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Yeshua; it is no longer I who live, but Yeshua lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of Yahweh, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
These seven days of self-examination prove invaluable in helping us to devote our lives to Yahweh and Yeshua. This week-long period also pictures our eventual triumph over sin. As Yahweh delivered the ancient Israelites from enslavement to Egypt, so He delivers us from our enslavement to sin (Romans 6:12-18).
We learn by doing. We learn spiritual lessons by doing physical things. Performing the task of deleavening our homes reminds us to vigilantly watch for sinful thoughts and actions so we can avoid them. Yahweh knows that, in spite of our good intentions, we all sin.
Many years after his conversion, Paul described the powerful human tendency to sin. “I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of Yahweh according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank Yahweh-through Yeshua the Messiah! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of Yahweh, but with the flesh the law of sin” (Romans 7:21-25).
Paul knew life itself is a battle with sin. The Bible speaks of “the sin which so easily ensnares us” (Hebrews 12:1). We have our own part to play in struggling to overcome sin. Yet, paradoxically, we must rely on Yahweh to help us. Paul explained this to the Philippians by telling them to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is Yahweh who works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:12-13, King James Version).
Our observance of the Days of Unleavened Bread helps us realize our need for Yeshua’s help in overcoming our weaknesses. Yet this feast is certainly a time for rejoicing because Yeshua freely gives us the help we need. Yeshua, the Lamb of Yahweh, was sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins, thus unleavening, or cleansing, our lives. He continues to help us live obediently through Yahweh’s Spirit dwelling in us.
Paul tells us in Ro 2:13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified;
James tells us it is the doers of the law who will be justified. Jas 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Let’s read what James also has to say about doing things.
James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your F6 works, and I will show you my faith by my F7 works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? F8 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” F9 And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Some brethren do not believe we should keep the days of Unleaveded bread. Some do but they say you do not have to remove the leaven from your homes.
The bible says we do have to keep this time for ever, and that you do have to remove the leaven, and that by doing so you are acting out your faith by your works.
I am sharing this message now with you, so that you have time to begin to clean one room or two a week before the Days arrive in about two months time. You will see as you move your frig and stove how the crud has piled up over time and how hard it is to remove. This is the same as sin sneaking in to your lives and you not knowing it until one day it is exposed. Then you see how hard it is to remove or correct that sin. It is not easy.
You will learn by doing. Please consider doing the necessary work in cleaning your home so that you will be ready for the Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread.
Always remember that as you move closer to Yahweh, He moves closer to you. When you stop so does He and he waits for you to make the next move.
The more you learn and practice the more that will be revealed to you. But if you do nothing you learn nothing.
So may your spring cleaning be bountiful in teaching you many lessons from the scriptures.
Waiting on Yehovah
This article is reposted from January 9, 2021 with some updates. After we posted this article we discovered 100 more tombstones. Many of them we already had on our list and many were not usable. But we did find another 16 that were. Even some of these newly discovered tombstones prove that Passover was being kept before the equinox and that the equinox had nothing to do with the calendar and determining the Holy Days. We hope to have all the tombstone published with all our proofs for the Sabbatical and Jubilee years this year Yehovah, willing.
Waiting on Yehovah is Always Exciting
Yehovah is doing it again. Are you watching? Are you even aware?
We are commanded to make a wave offering of the first fruits of barley during Passover. We are to cut it and prepare it that Saturday evening at the start of Wave Sheaf Day. We can roast it if we need to. But we must make that wave offering with the very first fruits. It is important to understand that as it determines when the Holy Days are to be kept.
If the Barley is not ripe then we ad an extra month called Adar Bet. But if the Barley is ripe and we add an extra month then the barley will reseed itself and we will be keeping the appointed times at a time when Yehovah will not be there.
The importance of watching for the Barley cannot be stated loud enough. And this year Becca Biderman has sent us some pictures of Barley that is already in bloom and out of the boot.
Barley in Bloom on December 24, 2020.
Barley out of the Boot on December 24, 2020.
Some of you also think of Israel as a desert land but look at the picture Becca has sent where anemones, Israeli wild Iris, lupine (bluebonnet), daffodils, mandrakes, and many many more are in FULL glorious blooms covering the land with bright colours January 6, 2021.
We are about 6 days away from the start of the 12th month starting on January 15th. When you look at the chart below and see that when the barley is flowering, it can be ready for harvest in just 30 days time. What does this mean?
It means that we could have the New Year February 13, 14th and keep Passover February 28, 2021. Unbelievable!!
So to demonstrate when the Jews kept Passover in the 3rd, 4th and 5th centuries we are once again going to review the Tombstones of Zoar and learn the many things they reveal to us.
The Glory of the Lord
Exo 40:34 And the cloud covered the tabernacle of the congregation, and the glory of Jehovah filled the tabernacle.
Exo 40:35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tabernacle of the congregation because the cloud stayed on it, and the glory of Jehovah filled the tabernacle.
Exo 40:36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel journeyed on in all their journeys.
Exo 40:37 But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey until the day that it was taken up.
Exo 40:38 For the cloud of Jehovah was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, in all their journeys.
Can you imagine getting up each day and quickly opening the flap of your tent to see if the cloud was there or if it had moved to some other place? Each day you would check before you made any plans to do the things you wanted to get done that day.
You are all psyched to go and plant a garden and get dressed and gather the tools and go out the door and only then see the cloud is missing. You have to rush back and gather the kids and take down the tent and load it on the cart and then round up the flocks and herds and start to head in the direction of the cloud. The kids are asking where we are going and you say I do not know. The wife asks how much longer and you say I do not know. You ask yourself if there will be fields of grass and water for the herds and then say you do not know.
Can you imagine?
How exciting and how much it forces you to have faith in Yehovah. How awesome that would be?
Well, last week I was that guy going out to do my own thing and I had my plans for March to go to Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia. I was just about to book my flight and found one that leaves on a Wednesday and is half the cost of flying on Thursday so I can arrive there before Sunset on Friday and be checked into my room. I had my plans and had worked them all out and then bam, out of the blue I got the reports from Becca Biderman about the current state of the Barley. I was stunned like a deer in the headlights, frozen in my tracks.
So I quickly added her postings to the News Letter after already sending it out. I then was in panic mode for the rest of Thursday night and Friday.
I was absolutely positive we would have a 13th month this year. That is what I was sharing with you and taught you about last week. This has completely caught me with my pants down. Flights leaving on Thursday arrive in Riyad on Saturday. So I cannot do that. Leaving on Wednesday I would arrive early Friday and that was perfect, but now the Wednesday is potentially the High Holy Day of Unleavened Bread. What do I do? What do I do?
Then I began to reason that there was no way Passover could be before the Equinox. I never go by the equinox even though that seems to be an unwritten rule. Brian Hoecke even had a chart he showed me showing each year since 2000 how Passover was always after the equinox. I had disagreed but forgot where my proof was which showed me Passover could be before the equinox. And then I got busy with other things and forgot about it until now.
Here is the information courtesy of Brian Hoeck and I thank him for going and finding this and then for sharing it with us. Note that Passover will be 14 days after each of the New Moon sightings below and in each case was after the Equinox.
Here’s the info you requested:
“In the month of Xanthicus, which is by us called Nisan, and is the beginning of our year, on the fourteenth day of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries, (for in this month it was that we were delivered from bondage under the Egyptians,) the law ordained that we should every year slay that sacrifice which I before told you we slew when we came out of Egypt, and which was called the Passover; and so we do celebrate this passover in companies, leaving nothing of what we sacrifice till the day following.” (Flavius Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Book III)Please note that Josephus did not say the New Moon that starts the year occurs in Aries, but rather he said the Passover was sacrificed (i.e., the ending of Aviv/Nisan 14) while the Sun was in Aries. In his day, the Sun was in Aries circa March 20/21 through April 19/20. IF the Passover sacrifice had to occur in Aries, then it would have to fall in between March 20/21 and April 19/20, which would mean then that the New Moon must be sighted between the evening of March 7 (which would produce an Aviv 14 on March 21) and the evening of April 6 (which would produce an Aviv 14 on April 20).
Here is New Year info for years 2000-2019 via Aviv inspections and New Moon watches:

There are 4 years above marked with an asterisk. These mark years of split views of aviv inspectors.
* In 2005, there was debate over the start in the Aviv camps. The date in the chart is derived from the Karaite Korner crew, whereas abibofgod declared a 13th month and began the year with the 1st New Moon visible Sunday, April 11, 2005. If the abibofgod determination is correct, it would be evidence against the Josephus parameter.
* In 2008, the Karaites & abibofgod both declared a 13th month and began the year with the New Moon sighted the evening of April 7, thus an April 21st afternoon Passover sacrifice. This would put it one day outside of Aries (which ended April 20).
The folks at torahcalendar declared that the barley was ready for March 8, 2008 to begin the year: https://torahcalendar.com/PDF/2008_Abib.pdf* In 2016, the Karaite group declared a 13th month, and thus their day of Passover sacrifice (April 23) fell outside of the parameter given by Josephus by 3 days. (There was a split amoungst the groups this year Some not adding a 13th month)
* In 2019, the Karaite group declared a 13th month, making their Passover sacrifice occur the afternoon of April 20 (still fitting the Josephus parameter).(There was a split amoungst the groups this year Some not adding a 13th month)
*In 2020 all the groups kept the Passover on April 8th while we at Sightedmoon.com and a few others small groups went with Beccas’ report and kept Passover March 11, the same day WHO declared a worldwide pandemic. This year again it was a split amongst the crescent moon group.
Since 2016, those of us at Sightedmoon.com have been one month earlier than the Karaite groups. In 2023, Devorah went even one month later than most Karaites and was two months after us here at Sightedmoon.com. Michael Rood and Nehemia Gordon both split from Devorah and kept Passover the month before her which was a month after us.
Let me share my experience here now that I have this record above. My first year was in 2005 and we kept the Passover via the Karaite view 30 days before the Hebrew Calendar. I have written about this many times. In 2016 with much debate, sightedmoon.com kept Passover earlier that the Karaite view which added a 13th month that year. We did not. In 2019 once again sightedmoon.com kept Passover 30 days before the Karaite groups again with much debate and much scorn. In both instances, Nehemia and I remained friends and still do to this day. And in both instances, sadly others stopped following us and talking with us. So we are well aware of the divisiveness of this subject and controversies it brings forth.
If Passover can be before the equinox and I can prove it then Becca has a case. Ha, Becca has a case no matter what I say. She has the barley and Yehovah is guiding that process. Yehovah is in charge and we must never forget that. And even as I say that my human reasoning is denying it. But Becca showed that some Barley was already in the head stage and flowering. Which means we could be just 40 to 30 days from it being ripe enough for Wave Sheaf day. It is most certainly going to be a very close year this year and we all must be ready either way.
I have not even begun to deleaven the house or the cars and…… Man, I am just not ready. Is the cloud actually moving? Arghhh I have to catch up.
But here is the thing. Yehovah is in control. He is in charge. If the rains continue and it remains cool then the husks do not develop and the milk does not gather so the seed does not begin to form. But once the dry warm winds come, then the process begins. When will that be?
According to the chart in exactly so many days. But in reality, only Yehovah knows.
Once again we are being shown this parable, this Hebrew idiom.
Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not the angels of Heaven, but only My Father.
Those who do not keep the Holy Days will not and cannot know when He is to come. They will not know the seasons. Paul said;
The Day of the Lord
1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I write to you.
1Th 5:2 For you yourselves know accurately that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety! Then sudden destruction comes on them, as travail upon a woman with child. And they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the Day should overtake you like a thief.
1Th 5:5 You are all the sons of light and the sons of the day. We are not of the night, or of darkness.
1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be calm.
1Th 5:7 For those sleeping sleep in the night, and those being drunken are drunken in the night.
1Th 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be calm, having put on the breastplate of faith and love and the hope of salvation for a helmet.
1Th 5:9 For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
1Th 5:10 who died for us, so that whether we watch or sleep we should live together with Him.
1Th 5:11 Therefore comfort one another, and edify one another, even as you also do.
Yehovah is demonstrating to us that we cannot know when but once we know the season then we can know about when.
Can you Have Passover Before the Equinox?
In all this thinking and my mind racing, I remembered where I had seen the proof that Passover was indeed possible to be kept before the Equinox. It was in the Tombstones of Zoar. The very same ones that had shown me many references to the Sabbatical and Jubilee years.
When I got home from work Friday I immediately began to go through every single tombstone once again and to see just how many had more evidence to give up. Things I had just read over and not valued.
Almost all of the Tombstones give you the year in reference to the year the Temple was destroyed. They give the name of the person deceased, and most give the month. And some even give the day of the week and the date of that day and the month. This was pure gold which I had not realized I had nor had I thought to use it before now.
With this weekday and the date and month, I could now go back and see when that year began and if indeed it was before the Equinox when they kept Passover. But then Friday night as I was going through each of these Tombstones, I also realized that they were telling me consistently when they had changed from the Crescent moon calendar to the Conjunction to begin the month. What an exciting find I had tripped over. It is with this understanding of the two systems used for the calendars that you must have in order to understand these 30 or so tombstones. This is why when many “authorities” looked at them like Marcus and Wacholder, Zuckerman and Shurer, they dismissed them because they did not line up with their theories or understanding. This is why they are hardly mentioned.
So let me now share each one at a time and learn if in fact you can keep the Passover before the Equinox.
Proof # 24-Tombstone # 3 – 393 CE-Naveh’s # 7
Just so you understnd the listing above. This is my 24th proof of the Sabbatical Years. It is the 3rd Tombstone chronologically and Naveh who is the authority on the Tombstones has it listed in his list as #7.
Tombstones # 3 – 393 CE Naveh’s # 7
This is the tombstone of Jacob
Son of Samul, who died on
The second day (Monday), forty
years old, on the third day
of the month of Iyar (2nd month), on the first year
of the Shemitah
year three hundred and twenty

323 + 70 = 393 CE
This tombstone is telling us the 3rd of Iyar was a Monday. Just so you know what each month is in name and number here is a chart for you.

Now we go to Torah Calendar (https://torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y393M2) for the year 393 CE and look at the 2nd month to see if it was a Monday. And what we see is that Monday in the 2nd month was indeed the 3rd of Iyar. Then when we check the 1st month we see that Passover was after the Equinox.
Now you must take special note here. This was a very simple check. That is because Torah Calendar goes by the Crescent moon to begin the month and this is why I use them so often. But… They also use the Equinox to determine when the first of the year is. It is always after the Equinox according to them. They also use the Metonic cycles to determine the leap years. We wrote about them last week and will not repeat them here now. You must keep this in mind in our search.
The other thing that jumps out here is the fact that this Tombstone in the year 393 CE was using the Crescent Moon to begin the month. I will show you another that proves they also were going by the Barley to begin the year in a moment.

This man died on the 10th day of Shevat, the 11th month, which was a Monday, the second day of the week in the year 416 CE. This again matches exactly what Torah Calendar is showing us (https://torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y416M11) And when we then go back to check the 1st month of this year, Passover is found to be after the Equinox.
Once again in this year of 416 CE., they are still going by the Crescent Moon Calendar and the Barley being Aviv.

Adar Bet/Baiz (Second Adar 13th)
Thursday the 17th day of the 6th month in the year 432 CE.
When we look at the 17th day of the 6th month in the year 432 it does not come up on a Thursday but on Tuesday (https://torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y432M6 ). What is going on now? Torah Calendar does not go by the barley but it does go by the Metonic cycles.
The Only way you can get the 17th of the 6th month to be on a Thursday is for there to be an Adar bet for the preceding year making this 6th month what Torah Calendar is saying is the 7th month.(https://torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y432M7)
This Tombstone proves that these Jewish people in Zoar at this time in the year 432 CE were still going by the Barley and they added a 13th month, an Adar Bet to the preceding year. When they did that then what Torah Calendar calls the 7th month is, in fact, the 6th month and matches the date on the Tombstone exactly. Remember Torah Calendar is going by the Metonic cycles and the Equinox. These people were going by the Barley and the Crescent moon.
This is exactly what I am looking for only going the other way so that Passover would then fall before the Equinox.
Proof # 31 Tombstone # 10 – 439 CE-No Naveh #
“This is the tombstone of Hannah, daughter of Ha[niel] the priest, who died on the Sabbath, the first festival of Passover, on the fifteenth day of the month of Nisan,[JD1] in the fifth year of the sabbatical cycle, which is the year three hundred and sixty-nine years after the destruction of the Temple. Peace. May her soul rest. Peace” 369 + 70 = 439 C.E.
When we look at the 1st month in the year 439 we see that Passover the 15th day is on a Sunday and not the Sabbath as the Tombstone has said.
I then checked the visibility of the moon to start this month and see if it could have been seen the day before which would then move the 15th back to the Sabbath and match what the Tombstone says. Here is the day it could be seen.
And here is the day before when it could not be seen.
When I then look at what Torah Calendar is saying is the 13th month of the preceding year I see that it was a 30 day month because the moon could not be sighted. But I also see that if the moon was not sighted the month before and 30 day month declared then this month would put the 15th day on the Sabbath and match what the Tombstone said if indeed this was the 1st month and not the 13th.
This is HUGE
The year 438 is Adar Bet according to Torah Calendar. But if the month Adar bet was the 1st month and the moon was not seen on the first day then Sabbath would be the 15th day. Passover would be before the Equinox.
https://torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y438M13
This Tombstone proves a few things that you need to make note of. It is a very important tombstone to note.
- That Passover is on the 15th at the end of the 14th. The 15th is when Passover is and it is the First High Holy Day. The 14th is not Passover as some claim today.
- When you check the calendars the only way you can have a Passover on a Saturday in that year is if you go by the Crescent moon to begin the month, not the conjunction.
- The only way you can have a Passover on a Saturday and to go by the crescent moon is if you do not have an Adar Bet. The Hebrew Calendar with the Metonic cycles makes you add a 13th month. But the Biblical calendar that goes by the barley to start the year and then by the crescent moon to begin each month does not use the Metonic cycles and therefor what Torah Calendar is calling the 13th month can, in fact, be the 1st month and this tombstone proves it.
- This Tombstone shows you that the Jewish People in Zoar at this time were still going by the Barley determine the years and the Crescent moon to begin the month.
- This Tombstone shows you that they were not going by the Equinox and that Passover this year was before the Equinox.

We now come a very important junction.
Hillel II Hillel the Nasi, also known simply as Hillel, was an amora of the fifth generation in the Land of Israel. He held the office of Nasi of the Sanhedrin between 320 and 385 CE. He was the son and successor of Judah III. He is sometimes confused with Hillel the Elder, as the Talmud sometimes simply uses the name “Hillel”.
He is traditionally regarded as the creator of the modern fixed Jewish calendar. This tradition first appears in a responsum of R. Hai Gaon (written in 992[3]) cited by R. Abraham bar Hiyya in his Sefer Ha’ibbur (written in 1123).[4] The citation explicitly refers to the year that this event happened, 670 of the Seleucid era, which corresponds to 358/9 CE.
However, a number of documents have been found that indicate the calendar was not fully fixed in Hillel’s time; most famously a letter found in Cairo Geniza (from the year 835/6) indicates that the holidays were observed on different dates from those predicted by the current calendar.[3][5] The calendar did not reach its exact modern form until at least the years 922-924.[6] According to modern scholar Sacha Stern, Hai Gaon only attributed the establishment of a 19-year cycle, and not other details of the calendar, to Hillel.[3]
The fixed calendar was of great benefit to Jews of his and subsequent generations. The Jewish calendar is lunisolar. That is, its months are synchronized with the phases of the moon, but its average year length approximates the mean length of a solar year. The Sanhedrin declared new months based on observations of the new moon, and added a 13th lunar month to certain years to ensure that holidays would continue to fall in the same seasons of the solar year. But Constantius II, following the precedents of Hadrian, prohibited the holding of such meetings as well as the vending of articles for distinctly Jewish purposes. The worldwide Jewish community depended on the calendar sanctioned by the Judean Sanhedrin to observe Jewish holidays on the correct dates. However, danger threatened the participants in that sanction and the messengers who communicated their decisions to distant congregations. Temporarily, to relieve the foreign congregations, Huna ben Abin once advised Rava not to wait for the official intercalation: When you are convinced that the winter quarter will extend beyond the sixteenth day of Nisan declare the year a leap year, and do not hesitate.[7] But as the religious persecutions continued, Hillel decided to provide an authorized calendar for all time to come, though by doing so he severed the ties which united the Jews of the diaspora to their mother country and to the patriarchate.
You are about to see the first time that I have discovered of the calculated calendar being used next.
May rest the soul of Rabbi Simon Binabi, who died the fourth day (Wednesday) the third day of the month Adar in the seventh year three hundred and eighty and five years after the destruction of the Temple. We have here now the first proof I have that the Conjunction moon is now being used. The conjunction took place Monday making it the first day and thereby Wednesday is now the 3rd day when you start to count from the conjunction moon. This explanation now matches what the Tombstone has said. And it shows us that Passover that year was on the day of the Equinox.

Shabbat the 25th of Tevet 456 CE
The day of conjunction is Thursday, December 13th so this month does not match our day for Shabbat being the 25th day of the 10th month.
In order to have the 25th day on the Sabbath, you must begin the year one month earlier and use the conjunction moon and not the sighted one. This would make the 9th month according to Torah Calendar the 10th month which matches the tombstone date with the Sabbath being the 25th day of the month. The Conjunction would begin the month on the 4th day.
Because we have now pushed the calendar back one month according to Torah Calendar, changing the 13th month of the previous year and making it the 1st month. This would make Passover March 9th if using the Conjunction and March 10th if using the crescent moon. But now have no way of knowing if they are using the Barley to begin the year because they are now using the calculated calendar. This is over one week before the Equinox.

of the month of Kislev (9th month) in the sixth year of the Shemitah, which was a leap year, year three hundred and ninety-eight to the destruction of the temple 398 + 70 = 468 Nissan / Pesach (Passover) 1st
Iyar 2nd Sivan / Shavuot/s 3rd Tammuz 4th Av 5th Elul 6th Tishrei Succot/s 7th (Mar)Heshvan 8th Kislev 9th Tevet/s / 10th Shvat / 11th Adar Aleph (First Adar 12th) Adar Bet/Baiz (Second Adar 13th)
Friday the 3rd of the 9th month 468 and it was a leap year. When we look at the 9th month according to Torah Calendar it does not match so we then look at the 8th month.
Wednesday, October 2 was the conjunction of the moon making it day 1 and Friday day 3 just as the tombstone states.
This now means that the first month would be what Torah Calendars is calling the 12th month of the previous year. This would then make Passover fall on the 26th of February in that year of 468. I am not saying this is correct. I am saying that once they stopped using the barley as a reference to begin the year they began to keep Passover in February on the 26th day in the year 468 CE.
Proof # 37-Tombstone # 16 – 468 CE-Naveh’s # 14
We now have another Tombstone for the year 468.
This memorial of the deceased Mati (son of) Sabah, who died on the fifth day, twentieth of the month of Elul on the fifth year of the Shemitah year three hundred and ninety eight to the destruction of the temple May he rest in peace 398 + 70 = 468 CE
Thursday the 20th of the 6th month in the year 468. So if we follow the pattern as the previous tombstones have shown us. We should be one month earlier.
Nissan / Pesach (Passover) 1st, Iyar 2nd, Sivan / Shavuot/s 3rd, Tammuz 4th, Av 5th, Elul 6th, Tishrei Succot/s 7th, (Mar)Heshvan 8th, Kislev 9th, Tevet/s / 10th, Shvat / 11th
Adar Aleph (First Adar 12th), Adar Bet/Baiz (Second Adar 13th)
The Conjunction is on August 5 which makes the 20th move back by just one day and it does not land on the Thursday as the tombstone says.
The Conjunction is on July 5 which makes July 6 day one, and the 20th move back by two days and it does land on the Thursday as the tombstone says. So this is a second witness that this year of 468 CE. the months began one month earlier that Torah Calendar has them and that Passover was on February 26, weeks before the Equinox.
Proof # 38-Tombstone # 17 – 470 CE-Naveh # 24
May the soul of Yoseh son of Ofi who died in the city of Tefar in the land of Heymar and left to the land of Israel and buried on the sixth day the twenty sixth of the month of Tamuz on the first year of the Shemitah, which is identical to the year [400] to the destruction of the temple, Shalom
Peace on you in your resting place 400 + 70 = 470, Friday the 26th of Tammuz 470 CE, Nissan / Pesach (Passover) 1st, Iyar 2nd, Sivan / Shavuot/s 3rd, Tammuz 4th, Av 5th, Elul 6th, Tishrei Succot/s 7th
(Mar)Heshvan 8th, Kislev 9th, Tevet/s / 10th, Shvat / 11th, Adar Aleph (First Adar 12th), Adar Bet/Baiz (Second Adar 13th)
When we look at the 4th month for the year 470 CE. we see the following from Torah Calendar.
You can only get Friday the 26th of Tammuz if you use the conjunction moon. Passover would be on April 4th. Passover was after the Equinox this year.
Proof # 39-Tombstone # 18 – 472 CE
This is the tombstone of Hannah, daughter of Levi, who died on Thursday on the 19th day of the month of Sivan, in the third year of the Sabbatical year, four hundred and two years since the destruction of the Temple. Peace upon Israel Peace. 402 + 70 = 472
Thursday the 19th of Sivan 472 CE.
Nissan / Pesach (Passover) 1st
Iyar 2nd
Sivan / Shavuot/s 3rd
Tammuz 4th
Av 5th
Elul 6th
Tishrei Succot/s 7th
(Mar)Heshvan 8th
Kislev 9th
Tevet/s / 10th
Shvat / 11th
Adar Aleph (First Adar 12th)
Adar Bet/Baiz (Second Adar 13th)
Torah Calendar did add a 13th month in the year 471. Using the Crescent moon has not helped me to find the 19th on a Thursday in the month of Sivan. If I use the Conjunction then the only month that has Thursday as the 19th is what Torah calendar is calling month one.
This then makes the 12th month of the year 471 the 1st month and Passover would then be February 11th.
Proof # 40-Tombstone # 19 – 476 CE-Naveh’s #16
This is the memorial of Ya’akov (Jacob) son of ‘awid who died on the 2nd (day), on the 10th days of… Marcheshvan (8th month), on the first year of the Shemitah which is the year four hundred and six to the destruction of the temple. May he rest in peace. Shalom Shalom Shalom
406 + 70 = 476
Monday the 10th of the 8th Month 476 CE, Nissan / Pesach (Passover) 1st, Iyar 2nd, Sivan / Shavuot/s 3rd, Tammuz 4th, Av 5th, Elul 6th, Tishrei Succot/s 7th, (Mar)Heshvan 8th, Kislev 9th, Tevet/s / 10th
Shvat / 11th, Adar Aleph (First Adar 12th), Adar Bet/Baiz (Second Adar 13th)
The pattern continues to hold that the only way to get the 10th of the 8th month to be on a Monday is to go to the preceding month and we have our match.
This then makes February 27, 576 CE Passover and it was before the Equinox.
Proof # 43-Tombstone # 22 – 505 CE-Naveh’s # 3
May rest the soul of Haifu the daughter of …, who died on Tuesday, the eleventh day of Elul, in the …year of the Sabbatical cycle that is the year four hundred thirty-five after the destruction of the Temple. Peace Peace Upon Israel, Peace! 435 + 70 = 505
Tuesday the 11th of 6th month 505 CE, Nissan / Pesach (Passover) 1st, Iyar 2nd, Sivan / Shavuot/s 3rd, Tammuz 4th, Av 5th, Elul 6th, Tishrei Succot/s 7th, (Mar)Heshvan 8th, Kislev 9th, Tevet/s / 10th, Shvat / 11th
Adar Aleph (First Adar 12th) ,Adar Bet/Baiz (Second Adar 13th)
The only way to have Tuesday as the 11th is by using the conjunction moon and starting one month earlier.
This would make Passover on March 8th 505 CE. Which is before the Equinox.
Proof # 44-Tombstone # 23 – 515 CE
“May the soul of Hasadiah the Priest son of Dematin rest, who died on Thursday, the fifth of Av, in the fourth year of the Sabbatical cycle, which is the year four hundred and forty-five after the destruction of the Temple. Peace on Israel. Peace.” 445 + 70 = 515
Thursday the 5th of 5th month 515 CE, Nissan / Pesach (Passover) 1st, Iyar 2nd, Sivan / Shavuot/s 3rd, Tammuz 4th, Av 5th, Elul 6th, Tishrei Succot/s 7th, (Mar)Heshvan 8th, Kislev 9th, Tevet/s / 10th, Shvat / 11th
Adar Aleph (First Adar 12th), Adar Bet/Baiz (Second Adar 13th)
The Conjunction this year was on July 26 which then makes Thursday the 5th of the 5th month. Passover this year was on April 15 515 CE. This was after the Equinox.
Conclusions
Based upon our findings using all the Tombstones at our disposal we have concluded that the ancient community of Jews in the town of Zoar, did not ever use the Equinox to determine when Passover would fall. They used the Crescent moon and the Barley to begin the year and then about 455 CE, which is the first record I have, they then began to use the Conjunction moon, also today known as the Hillel Calendar to govern the Holy Days and months.
Out of 13 Tombstones with the Day of the death and the date, we have checked each one to see if they kept the Passover before the Equinox.
We had 1 using the Barley and the Crescent moon to begin the month and they were before the Equinox. And we had 3 that were after the Equinox.
We had 6 using the conjunction moon to begin the month and they were before the Equinox. We also had 3 that were after the Equinox.
Therefore, is it possible to have the Passover before the equinox? Yes. Ancient history written upon the tombstones of Zoar, proves this to be the case. It is entirely possible for Passover to come this year of 2020 on March 11 with the 14th and preparation day being on March 10. This would then make the last Day of Unleavened Bread, March 17. But we must wait upon Yehovah to bring the warm winds to create the heads in the Barley to know for sure. What we have done with this technical study is to demonstrate that the equinox is irrelevant as to when Passover will be.
Shalom Joe
I pray all is well in your home and you’re being blessed…
I have a question, would I be right in asking did you say Yeshua wasn’t killed in Passover if it was still two days for Passover from when He had the last supper meal and died the next day ?
Just to share with you where I am so there is no misunderstanding
The pattern from exodus and Yeshua fulfilling Passover – Shavuot must align with scripture and He is the sinless Passover Lamb…
Sabbath Shalom to you Joseph Dumond and to everyone
thank You Joseph for keeping us updated.
God’s Calendar is under the control of God the Father, He chooses when to start His New Year, and when to set the timing, of when His annual Feast days are to be kept. The start of every year of God’s Calendar, starts by having enough barley for the wave sheaf offering, during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, as written in Leviticus 23:9 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Leviticus 23:10 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.
Leviticus 23:11 He shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.
This was the correct and true system kept, and as followed by Jesus Christ Himself, and sure enough Jesus Christ kept His Father’s annual Feast Days at the right times. I hope that this makes it very clear to the reader of this article, that to start God’s Calendar Year, by any other method, at any other different times, will end up keeping God’s Annual Holy Feast Days, at the wrong times of the year, and making – changing God’s Feasts, and making your own Feasts, by dictating to God by your decisions, and by setting your own timing when to have your Annual Feasts. You will be making and creating Holy Time, that which is not Holy, making yourself more righteous than your God.
If we follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ, of how He kept His Father’s Calendar, we cannot go wrong, and we will be keeping The Holy annual Feasts at the right times, same as Jesus Christ did. And this is the correct way.
It is God who sets up the appointment times, of when you are to appear before Him, three times during the year, as written in Exodus 23:14 “Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year: Exodus 23:15 You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt; none shall appear before Me empty);
Exodus 23:17 “Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
If you decide to start God’s Calendar, any other way, and by doing so, you set up the timings, of when to go and appear to your God, by making your own appointment times, God says to you the following, as written in Isaiah 1:12 “When you come to appear before Me, Who has required this from your hand, To trample My courts?
In other words, you went to appear before your God, at a time when you was not invited, and trampled God’s Heaven.
Your God continues on to tell you not to go to him, He does not want to see you, and He hates your set Feasts, He does not want to hear your prayers, He cover His eyes, because He does not want to see you, as written in Isaiah 1:13 Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies—I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting.
Isaiah 1:14 Your New Moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; They are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them.
Isaiah 1:15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.
I hope that I have made it clear enough for you, that this is a very serious matter, of when to appear before your God, three times a year, on the appointment times, when God invites you, and the times, that He wants you to appear before Him. If you choose your times to go and meet Him, He will not be there for you, and you will not find Him.
Also during the time, when Jesus Christ lived in Jerusalem, the moon months started when the first crescent moon was visible. We have a written record of this by the historian Philo, who lived at the same time of Jesus Christ.
If you start the moon month by a calculation method, and you don’t see the crescent moon in the sky, you lie to yourself, and if within that moon month, there is an Annual Feast day, you will be keeping the Feast Day on the wrong day.
Then when Jesus Christ returns, you go complaining to Him because you are still in a physical, flesh and blood body. You was not changed to an immortal body. Sad to say the following answer you will receive from Jesus Christ, as written in Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
Matthew 7:23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
It is the Barley that starts to ripen at that time to be waved. We wave to someone to say goodbye. In Malta to this very day, the barley is called XEJR, which translates into the English language as WAVES, like when waving to someone. In this ritual the first of the ripened barley is waved to God the Father.
God the Father controls the weather, and He is able to control the growth and the ripening of the wild barley, growing in Jerusalem, with the rain and the temperature. And the first month on God’s calendar, is when the new crescent moon is seen from Jerusalem, provided with a handful of ripened barley, enough to perform the Wave Sheaf Offering. This first moon month sets out the timing of God’s annual Holy Feasts during the whole year.
Only enough ripened barley, for the Wave Sheaf Offering, is required, to start the first moon of God’s Calendar year. This is a handful of ripened barley, to be offered to God in Heaven, also representing the handful of the resurrected saints, who resurrected at the same time when Jesus Christ was resurrected, whom Jesus Christ took up to Heaven with Him, to offer them to His Father in Heaven, as written in Matthew 27:52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
Matthew 27:53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
Also the Apostle Paul mentions these saints, led by Jesus Christ, as written in Ephesians 4:8 Therefore He says: “WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVITY CAPTIVE, AND GAVE GIFTS TO MEN.”
Ephesians 4:9 (Now this, “HE ASCENDED”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?
Ephesians 4:10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)
The entire world is living in the captivity of Satan. These saints, also were captives of Satan, and by their resurrections became free, and were led by Jesus Christ, and received their gifts in Heaven, with crowns were placed on their heads, as recorded in the Book of Revelation.
This handful of saints are still there in Heaven, and these saints are the 24 Elders mentioned in Revelation 4:4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.
Well put about being on His Calendar according to His signs.
George, consider that you have used Isaiah 1:13-15 to suggest God’s wrath was kindled against Israel because they were observing His appointed times at the wrong dates. please read verses 16,17 & 23 to understand the blatant reasons why God was upset with them, and it had absolutely nothing to doing with timing. of course, i’ve heard this before and it is a perfect example of twisting the scriptures.
It is interesting to note. Rabbi Chiam Richmond in Isarel. Was interviewed last year about the Hillel calendar. He agreed with the interviewer that the Jews should be waiting for the Barley harvest to show before keeping the Passover, and not keeping the Hillel calendar. Amazing.
And awesome good news! It’s been long enough that they have been back in the land.
I take my instructions from scripture, not from Joseph Dummond. Does the Bible say that the month begins with the sighting of the moon? Yes. Does it say the month has to always be 29 or 30 days long? No. Does the Bible say that the Feast of First Fruits requires ripe Barley to be offered? Yes. Does it say to deleaven your homes for more than one day? No.
I agree with you on most things Joe, because we are reading the same scriptures. But I don’t agree with you when you start adding your own requirements like the scribes and pharisees in order to try and PROVE yourself to God rather than just being OBEDIENT. I don’t think anyone has been saying you can’t present your own interpretations, we’re just looking for some humility rather than you assuming authority over YHVH’s word.
Regarding the particular issue of ridding our homes of leaven, scripture is quite clear it is for ONE day only. And it also implies that it is simply so that we will not EAT anything with leaven, not that every single unedible particle needs to be removed.
Exo 12: 15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the FIRST DAY ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever EATETH leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
Exo 12:16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.
Exo 12:17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this SELFSAME DAY have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe THIS DAY in your generations by an ordinance for ever.
Exo 12:18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
Exo 12:19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever EATETH that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
Exo 12:20 Ye shall EAT nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
Does the Bible say we have to wear clothes? No.
I agree with you. I see the beauty of having a clean home, but am quite wary of Chabad.org as any kind of authority for walking out Torah, as a Christian believer in Yeshua.
That organization does tend to tradition, and that of man. And though they are friendly enough toward our kind, would fall more into the category of anti-missionaries, in my book. I would not like to see people new to the faith led in that direction.
Not all traditions are bad, but sometimes they are pervasive, and pushy, and in that sense can give especially people new to the faith, the wrong impression, that it is about earning our way, rather than a sincere heart.
And just so I’m clear myself, I do try to obey the Commandments and keep the Statutes. So, I am certainly not still in Sunday school, so to speak. I pray that we are all in obedience to the truth. And I appreciate Brother Joseph a lot, but am myself wary of going back on a road I’ve already been down, like with that organization.
Thank you for your heartfelt post. It is sincere, and I believe accurate as to what we are being asked to do, in Torah.
“I don’t think anyone has been saying you cant present your own interpretations, were just looking for some humility rather than you assuming authority over YHVHs word.
AMEN to that! upon reading this newsletter, i’ve decided to request removal from Jospeh’s email list. he has gone way overboard to accuse fellow brethren of sinning because they understand the determination of God’s appointed times slightly differently. i’m just done with these types of pharisees.
Shalom Joe,
I am struggling with how the calendar could be determined by the first omer of barley gathered in the entire land of Israel when YHVH says that no man shall come before Him empty handed?
Exodus 23:15
Exodus 34:20-23
Deuteronomy 16:16
In their full context, these verses seem to indicate that the first fruits offerings are not just brought to the festival by one person but by all the men of Israel. It sounds chaotic to trigger the start of the ascending feasts by the field of only 1 man and then have everyone else on the clock to prepare for the journey.
Any help here is appreciated!
Here is what you bring, so you are not empty handed:
Deu 12:6 And there you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offering of your hand, and your vows, and your free-will offerings, and the first-born of your herds and of your flocks.
Deu 12:11 then there shall be a place which Jehovah your God shall choose to cause His name to dwell there. There you shall bring all that I command you, your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Jehovah.
I’m not an expert, but it has to do with the time, the two week + interval after the Aviv moon is announced. By then everyone should have some barley ready in their fields, maybe not a whole crop, but a whole crop is not required.
I currently follow the calendar Michael rood publishes How do I obtain a printed calendar that you follow. Please help
I may be wrong, but I believe you need to print it yourself, still, but it is available on this website to do that.
Another option would be to use a standard calendar and write in the date approximations according to what is available on this website.
And you could even do this with a Rood or Lion and Lamb calendar. I have used all these methods. Hope this helps.
Brother Joseph, I agree with you that the correct date is a serious thing. And I thank you for your diligent work proving that Passover can be before the spring equinox.
I did wish to make a point though, that leaven in the Bible represents “growth” and not “sin” at all times. Yeshua used leaven to represent how the Kingdom of Heaven grows. This to me proves that all the illustrative preaching that exists that leaven represents always sin, is just wrong.
Also, on Shavuot, the bread to be brought was leavened. Made from the new leaven grown since the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
This leads me to believe quite sincerely that leaven represents growth, and not sin. As the new leaven was a good thing, and the growth of the Kingdom of Heaven being hidden in the lump was of course good.
I’ve studied these two points for many years. I know it is a popular theological position to take, but consider that it may be mistaken as well.
Here are scriptures:
Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
Matthew 13:33
Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
Leviticus 23:16-17
Bonus — sacrifice of thanksgiving:
Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings.
Leviticus 7:13
This point about leaven not always representing sin, per se, but rather growth — is not to imply that it cannot be used to represent sinful growth, as it clearly is used to represent this as well — or else there would not be this entrenched theological position that it IS sin.
It is not sin, and it is not not sin. It is a tool, used to symbolize and illustrate growth — for better or worse.
Clearly, the Israelites coming out of Egypt were Egyptianized, and needed a clear object lesson to help them see to get Egypt out of their systems. This much is certain.
But leaven itself is not sin, no more than a glass of wine is the devil. Hope you see what I mean by this.
Thank you for all that you do! And most especially for keeping us posted on the barley development.
Shalom!
“They wrote it in stone but is that enough for some to repent and change?”
Joseph,
please consider that within this call for repentance, you are asserting that observing God’s sacred calendar in any way other than your understanding is sinning and not recognized by God. this is as much as a condemnation against fellow brethren as is anyone asserting observing Passover before the equinox is sinning and not recognized by God. it is no wonder why some of these brethren you’ve accused in such manner respond to you with some degree of anger.
please also consider the possibility that so long as we strive to observe His appointed times in their due season God recognizes the observance. it appears that most, if not all, methods of determining sacred time wind up placing God’s appointed times within their due season.
if you disagree with this possibility, please indicate which Biblical scriptures explicitly state that unless God’s children follow one specific method of determining sacred time they are sinning in doing so. while at it, please also indicate where to find this explicit Biblically prescribed method in such precise detail.
if the precise timing of God’s appointed times were somehow the key to salvation, then Christ would not have slammed those within the manmade religion of Judaism, for they would have passed the “test” (as you refer to it).
sadly, someone commented suggesting that it is due to inaccurate timing in observance of God’s appointed times why God said He would not hear them in Isaiah 1:13-15. apparently brethren in this camp elect to not continue reading verses 16, 17 & 23, and therefore ignore the reasons given for the kindling of God’s anger: committing various evils including dispensing with taking care of widows & orphans — thus, twist the scriptures.
some brethren believe the calculated calendar has been a blessing inspired by God in order for His children to assemble in observance of His appointed times while living anywhere on the planet, knowing full well that the gospel was to be sent out to people throughout the entire world. the timing of ripened barley crops vary widely even within 50 miles of Jerusalem, let alone across the planet, and for thousands of years there was no instant form of communication. yet, brethren elect to debate over their barley harvests as well and occasionally wind up observing at different dates as well.
many serious Biblical students have searched for such explicit instructions, yet have discovered that every single method employed by God’s children uses extra Biblical data to determine His appointed times — this is a fact. therefore, how can anyone claim to have the authority to accuse fellow brethren of sinning for merely striving to accurately observe these appointed times to the best of their understanding?
you seem to routinely conflate believers who are striving to observe God’s Biblically appointed times, with believers who remain ignorant about Sunday, Easter, and Christmas observances having pagan origins which God considers “sin”… and even then, God has to open their minds to such understandings, as He did for you & i.
sadly, too many Sabbatarians become prideful and think that just because God opened their eyes to more of His truths, they now have the authority to accuse all other believers as “sinners”, and determine for God which resurrection they will be in. thankfully, there is the account of Jesus forgiving the repentant thief during the crucifixion — does it matter whether or not that repentant man observed any appointed times?
apparently not, but rather because Jesus saw that his heart was changed. i pray more Sabbatarians will grow weary of playing the accuser in like manner as does satan, and concentrate more on repenting of real sin within their hearts.
