Be Brave & A Land of Milk and Honey

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

The First Month in of the first year of the third Sabbatical Year
The Third Sabbatical Year of the 119th Jubilee Cycle

March 27, 2010

Shabbat Shalom Brethren,

I am writing to you from Israel at this time. I have some small points to share before we get this weeks study.

The Kinneret currently stands at 212.81 meters below sea level, 19 centimeters above the recommended red line. Israel’s rainy season is nearing its end. This is occurring as there is already a water shortage in the land of Israel.

On another note I have had premonitions of an earthquake coming to the land of Israel on a High Holy Day. I do not believe in premonitions and I am reluctant to mention it. Many of us have not been able to find accommodations after Passover, forcing us to leave Jerusalem and stay elsewhere. I have found a room at the Maison de Abraham which is at the very spot where Yeshua was murdered and buried in the Tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. Yes this is near the Red heifer and sin altar spot. But I can only stay there until Nisan 14 and must leave after that. As of this writing we are all wondering where we will stay. It is a very strange and wonderful feeling learning to depend on Yahweh as He guides us all to where He wants us to be.

In the news in Jerusalem when I got here on March 21 were reports of two small earthquakes in the North of Israel. As we have said in the past two News Letters, this third cycle is Pestilence and famines and earthquakes. This third cycle began with Aviv 1 on March 17, 2010 at Sunset.

I had to fly to Zurich from Toronto and I was sitting beside an investment advisor. We got to talking and before I knew it I was teaching him about the Prophecies of Abraham and the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles. He had his seat belt on and kept asking questions. I kept trying not to answer them and ended up explain the book for 4 hours of our trip. He is now going to buy it and read it. Good thing he had his seat belt on.

Then from Zurich to Tel Aviv I sat beside a US Marine coming from Germany to speak to Israel Intelligence about certain matters. We again ended up talking about the end of days. I did not bring it up but I did end up explaining these things. Should be an interesting week for sure.

Now that I am here I am hearing of riots at the Damascus gate and how the Temple Mount faithful Movement is in court seeking permission to sacrifice on the Temple Mount the Passover Lamb. If they do this I will be staying in East Jerusalem where the Messiah was killed as I mentioned above. Last year this was the area that erupted when the Temple Mount Faithful stormed the Al Aksa Mosque. That was just days before I was trying to lead a group of tourist up there to show them why the Temple was never built in this area, but in the City of David. We are living in interesting times, that’s for sure. Keep me in your prayers and those whom are her with us.

If you have read the book the Prophecies of Abraham then you will not be surprised by this next news clip. The book can be bought at the: Sightedmoon Marketplace

Germany: World’s Third-Largest Arms Exporter

The total value of German arms exports has more than doubled since 2005, making Germany the world’s third-largest weapons exporter, behind just the United States and Russia. German weapons sales now make up 11 percent of world arms trade according to the 2009 annual report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

Most of these exports are armored vehicles, with submarines and warships also making up a large percentage. Turkey is the largest importer of German weapons, followed by Greece—despite its economic troubles—South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Austria and Italy.

As we approach the final days leading up to Passover there has been a great deal of talk on the internet about Passover being next month. Many of these people do not realize that you need to have Barley to make a wave offering. If you wait too long the Barley will re-seed itself and then there will not be enough left for the farmers to harvest. This is why we take the first of the Barley to use when it is ripe so that once this is done on the wave sheaf day then all of Israel can go and begin to harvest the Barley. Some of it is now ready in other places it will ripen soon. If we waited then those whose fields were ready now would lose their crops.

Also in these emails has been a lot of abusive slandering of those who teach that the New year begins now with the first barley being available, namely Michael Rood and Nehemiah Gordon.

I must remind you of the one of the 613 laws we just look at last week. Exodus 22:28 28 “Do not revile Elohim, nor curse a ruler of your people. When you slander or defame someone you are speaking as Satan does. Think about it next time you go to bad mouth someone.

Now others are saying they will not follow Nehemiah Gordon because he is a Jew who does not believe in Yeshua. I find this to be the height of hypocrisy. King David and King Solomon were also Jewish and they did not know Yeshua. Yeshua Himself said He did not come to the house of Judah but to the LOST sheep of the house of Israel. Why did He come to find them? Because they were so messed up in pagan teachings. What was it that He has shown us in the past few years? The Torah. Yeshua told us to pray to the Father not to Him. Yeshua told us to keep the Torah not the things that are being taught in most churches today.

What does Nehemiah Gordon teach, the literal Torah. The exact same thing Yeshua said to keep. Those who say they will not follow the crescent moon or the barley because of Nehemiah Gordon are showing their Christian anti Jewish prejudices. This is exactly where this thinking comes from. Instead of realizing that this Jew by the Name of Nehemiah Gordon is willing to teach you dumb ass Ephramites about the Torah without all the additional things that the rabbinic teachings have added. I believe in Yehshua and I have learned much from Nehemiah.

So if this is your excuse for not keeping the sighted moon and or the barley for the start of the year, then may Yahweh help you because none of us can? But if you can get past the prejudices that we are taught in Christian churches then you can learn much from those who speak Hebrew and have such great credentials as those like Nehemiah and there are many others who want to share with us Ephramites if we would only listen.

We are now ready to begin our week two of the Triennial Torah Readings which you can copy and print off your own.

Gen 2 Here at the beginning of the bible Yahweh Sets in place the Sabbath The seventh day of the week. As we do our torah readings for the days of Unleavened bread I would like all the new people to take special note of the number of times the first day of the week is mentioned and then remember what we have just read in Gen 2.

In Gen 2 Yahweh has blessed the Seventh Day, The Sabbath, which is Saturday. This week I heard on the radio a number of preachers trying to justify not keeping Saturday the Seventh Day of the week in favor of Sunday the first day of the week.
You will read many times during the Days of Unleavened Bread how it was on the first day of the week for this and for that. This was Sunday. But what so many Christians do not grasp and do not understand is that on this first day of the week it was the morrow after the Sabbath. We get this expression from Lev.23 where we are told that on the morrow after the Sabbath we are to make a wave offering.

It is this wave offering, that is the very first of the Barley, which represents Yeshua as He ascended to Heaven as the first of the first fruits and he also led a host of captives with Him. These captives are the other grains of Barley. It was not just one grain that was offered.

They are saying that because Yeshua ascended to heaven on this First day of the week that this is why they now keep Sunday instead of Saturday as the Sabbath.

These false teachers then go on to use the Day of Pentecost as their other proof for the keeping of Sunday as the Lords Day; Pentecost being the day when the Holy Spirit was given to the Apostles. Pentecost is also the day when Yahweh Himself gave the Ten Commandments to Israel from His own mouth and over two million people heard it. What these false teachers refuse to acknowledge is that Pentecost is the fiftieth day and is also the day after the Sabbath. It too is commanded in Lev 23. As is the weekly Sabbath and all the other Holy Days that they selectively refuse to keep. I believe we are going to read the Hidden Meaning of Pentecost at some point. So you can safe that article for later.

What these false teachers are saying is that Yahweh made a mistake by making the Sabbath the day of rest and after Yeshua was murdered He changed it to Sunday. But what they can’t show you is where Yahweh plainly states that the First day is to be kept as the Sabbath, because when Yahweh spoke from Mt Sinai, He made it very plain which day was Shabbat. Leviticus 23 also tells us to keep the Sabbath and many other annual Holy Days Holy. He also tells us to keep the Sunday which falls during the Days of Unleavened Bread as a wave sheaf day and not as a Holy Day. But again in Leviticus 23 we are told to keep the 50th day after this day Holy which is a Sunday.

Do not be fooled any longer by these lying vipers, who twist the truth in order to keep you from the truth of the scriptures. Stand up to their lies and begin to study and prove the truth which is overwhelming at times.

Also here in Chapter 2 Yahweh tells us of the Garden of Eden. When I was at Noah`s Ark in 2007 I was at the western end of Eden where the water gushes out of the Ground. This would represent the Holy of Holies in the Temple when we compare Eden with the Temple. Just as the Gihon Spring in Jerusalem gushed up from below the Temple and was piped to the Solomon’s Laver, so too in the western end of the Garden of Eden, a river gushed up out of the ground and still does so today. I have drunk from this water. That river was the Gihon but today is known as the Aras. You can read all about the Garden in this article at https://sightedmoon.com/sightedmoon_2015/?page_id=26 This is a great study for all you Moms who are doing Home schooling. A great lesson in geography and how to read your bibles.

At the end of Chapter 2 woman is made and the world has never been the same since. I am so thankful for women, most of the time. LOL.
As I read Joshua 5 I find it interesting after we just did the study last week to once again be talking about circumcision.

I have to jump in here with this one verse at this time. Joshua 5:11 And they ate of the stored grain of the land on the morrow after the Passover, unleavened bread and roasted grain on this same day.

It is this one verse that many people use to justify keeping the wave sheaf the day after Passover. Which is exactly what this verse says. But as you read the rest of this study you will see that this is a ploy that Satan will use to deceive you. Using a scripture and ignoring others. When people say that the wave sheaf is the day after Passover they ignore other scriptures.

Lev 23: 9 And ???? spoke to Mosheh, saying, 10 “Speak to the children of Yisra’?l, and you shall say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest. 11 ‘And he shall wave the sheaf before ????, for your acceptance. On the morrow after the Sabbath the priest waves it.

These people say that this verse in Lev 23 proves that the Wave sheaf is after the Passover or after the15th of Nisan which is the first Holy Day of Unleavened Bread. If we just had these two verses then they might have a case. But first the word for Sabbath here is Strongs # 7676 which means a weekly Sabbath. If it was a High Holy Day the word would have been Strongs # 7677 Sabbathon which it is not. But then we have the next section in Lev to also read.

15 ‘And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you shall count for yourselves: seven completed Sabbaths. 16 ‘Until the morrow after the seventh Sabbath you count fifty days, then you shall bring a new grain offering to ????. 17 ‘Bring from your dwellings for a wave offering two loaves of bread, of two-tenths of an ?phah of fine flour they are, baked with leaven, first-fruits to ????.

You are to count 7 Sabbaths; that is 7 Saturdays, and then the next day after the 7th Saturday is this next wave offering of Pentecost.
As we all know Passover can come on any day of the week and in the days of Joshua that Passover just so happened to fall of Saturday and so the next day was the Wave Sheaf day because it was always to fall on Sunday. The wave sheaf represents Yahshua who rose from the dead Saturday afternoon and ascended to heaven Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon Yahshua was allowing people to touch Him where as when Mary saw Him she could not touch Him. Why? John 20: 16 ????? said to her, “Miryam!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). 17 ????? said to her, “Do not hold on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Elohim and your Elohim

If the wave sheaf is on the 16th of Nisan and can fall on any day of the week, then do the count to fifty from this day, whether it be Monday or Thursday, fifty days later would be on either the Tuesday or the Friday, yet in Lev 23 we are told to count 7 Sabbaths and on the morrow after the 7th Sabbath or the 49th day is the day of Pentecost. But in the example I have used Monday or Tuesday or Thursday or Friday are not Sabbath days.

So the wave sheaf is on Sunday after the weekly Sabbath and not after the High Holy Day unless the High Holy day is on the Weekly Sabbath.
In verse 6 it speaks of a land flowing with milk and honey. Have you ever thought on this; that is on the land flowing with Milk and Honey? What does this mean?

In Numbers 11 the Israelites were grumbling again and yet for 40 years Yahweh gave them Manna to eat. 4 Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? 5 We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; 6 but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” 7 Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium. 8 The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones or beat it in the mortar, cooked it in pans, and made cakes of it; and its taste was like the taste of pastry prepared with oil. 9 And when the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it. 10 Then Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, everyone at the door of his tent; and the anger of Yahweh was greatly aroused; Moses also was displeased.

The Manna was the size of Coriander seeds and it was white in colour. And note it came after the Dew fell on the camp. It came in a mist or even in a cloud.

Exodus 3: 8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.

Exodus 16: 1 And they journeyed from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came to the Wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they departed from the land of Egypt. 2 Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. 3 And the children of Israel said to them, “Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.” 4 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not. 5 And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.” 6 Then Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, “At evening you shall know that Yahweh has brought you out of the land of Egypt. 7 And in the morning you shall see the glory of Yahweh; for He hears your complaints against Yahweh. But what are we, that you complain against us?” 8 Also Moses said, “This shall be seen when Yahweh gives you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to the full; for Yahweh hears your complaints which you make against Him. And what are we? Your complaints are not against us but against Yahweh.” 9 Then Moses spoke to Aaron, “Say to all the congregation of the children of Israel, ‘Come near before Yahweh, for He has heard your complaints.’ ” 10 Now it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of Yahweh appeared in the cloud. 11 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 12 “I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am Yahweh your Elohim.’ ” 13 So it was that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay all around the camp. 14 And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground. 15 So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “This is the bread which Yahweh has given you to eat. 16 This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.’ ” 17 Then the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less. 18 So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one’s need. 19 And Moses said, “Let no one leave any of it till morning.” 20 Notwithstanding they did not heed Moses. But some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them. 21 So they gathered it every morning, every man according to his need. And when the sun became hot, it melted. 22 And so it was, on the sixth day, that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. And all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. 23 Then he said to them, “This is what Yahweh has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to Yahweh. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.’ ” 24 So they laid it up till morning, as Moses commanded; and it did not stink, nor were there any worms in it. 25 Then Moses said, “Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to Yahweh; today you will not find it in the field. 26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, there will be none.” 27 Now it happened that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, but they found none. 28 And Yahweh said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My laws? 29 See! For Yahweh has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.” 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. 31 And the house of Israel called its name Manna. And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. 32 Then Moses said, “This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded: ‘Fill an omer with it, to be kept for your generations, that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.’ ” 33 And Moses said to Aaron, “Take a pot and put an omer of manna in it, and lay it up before Yahweh, to be kept for your generations.” 34 As Yahweh commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept. 35 And the children of Israel ate manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan. 36 Now an omer is one-tenth of an ephah.

Notice that the Manna tasted like honey. 31 And the house of Israel called its name Manna. And it was like coriander seed in size but white in colour, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. In verse 4 Yahweh said He would rain bread from heaven which is what this manna was. It came in a mist like rain in a cloud and was the size of coriander seed and was white.

Now Wafers are told to us in Exodus 29:2 NKJ
“and unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil (you shall make them of wheat flour). So they would appear to be white just as unleavened bread is basically white.”

Now when the spies went into the land they reported back Numbers 13: 27 Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

In Deuteronomy 32: 13 “He made him ride in the heights of the earth, That he might eat the produce of the fields; He made him draw honey from the rock, And oil from the flinty rock;

Who is the rock? Is it not Yeshua?
Now read Psalms 119:103 NKJ How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!

It is His words which are as sweet as Honey. And when we read Ezekiel 3:3 NKJ And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness.
We can see that the Torah Scrolls which are His words taste as honey.
This is very similar to what John wrote in Revelation 10:9 NKJ So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”
As we approach this Passover season then the words of Yeshua in Matthew 26:26 NKJ will take on a whole new meaning.
And as they were eating, Yeshua took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
This land of Israel, this land to which we are to return is Yeshua our rock and it is Yeshua who flows with milk and honey as the bread of life. Another study you could do is to read all the scriptures on the cloud and see how marvelous a picture this gives you.
Another subject shown to us in Joshua 5 is the end of the manna once they ate of the parched grain from the land. In Lev 25 we are told that when you enter the land, which is now what Joshua was dong that the land would have a rest. This year that Joshua crossed the Jordan was a Sabbatical year. It was not just any Sabbatical year it was the 50th year Jubilee.

We know that it was a Jubilee year for two reasons. One was that from this year they were to begin to count out to the next Sabbatical year in 7 years time. So the first year is a Sabbath year and then the 7th year is also a Sabbath year.

And ???? spoke to Moshe on Mount Sinai, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Yisra’?l, and say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall observe a Sabbath to ????. 3 ‘Six years you sow your field, and six years you prune your vineyard, and gather in its fruit, 4 but in the seventh year the land is to have a Sabbath of rest, a Sabbath to ????. Do not sow your field and do not prune your vineyard. 5 ‘Do not reap what grows of its own of your harvest, and do not gather the grapes of your unpruned vine, for it is a year of rest for the land. 6 ‘And the Sabbath of the land shall be to you for food, for you and your servant, and for your female servant and your hired servant, and for the stranger who sojourns with you, 7 and for your livestock and the beasts that are in your land. All its crops are for food. 8 ‘And you shall count seven Sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years. And the time of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years. 9 ‘You shall then sound a ram’s horn to pass through on the tenth day of the seventh month, on the Day of Atonement cause a ram’s horn to pass through all your land. 10 ‘And you shall set the fiftieth year apart, and proclaim release throughout all the land to all its inhabitants, it is a Jubilee for you. And each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you return to his clan. 11 ‘The fiftieth year is a Jubilee to you. Do not sow, nor reap what grows of its own, nor gather from its unpruned vine. 12 ‘It is a Jubilee, it is set-apart to you. Eat from the field its crops. 13 ‘In the Year of this Jubilee let each one of you return to his possession. 14

Now, I explain this in detail on the DVD which you can watch at https://sightedmoon.com/sightedmoon_2015/?page_id=251 where I show you how the 1st year is also the Fiftieth year the same as Pentecost is the 50th day and is also on the first day of the week as you count to the Sabbath.
On this DVD I also show you that this year the Joshua enters the land of Canaan is the 2500th year after the creation of Adam. And this is a Jubilee year. All you have to do is add up all the chronological information in the book of Genesis and you too can arrive at this conclusion.
Now in Joshua 6 we read of the destruction of Jericho, and in Chapter 7 of the trouble of Achan. I want to share this study I was doing with you at this time.

The Cross and the Tree

At this time of year many pilgrims travel to Israel to walk where Jesus walked and to watch the passion where he is to carry that heavy cross.
Now as many of us cross over as true Hebrews, which means to cross over, we who are now trying to learn of our Hebraic roots and to keep Torah and be obedient to our Father Yahweh, we all have many things that we must discard from our former teachings.
This week we must look at one that is the most recognized symbol of Christianity; the Cross. Was Yeshua killed on a cross?
Here is a list of all the scriptures which say the word cross and I am going to use the NKJV and compare it to the scriptures and the Peshitta. We are going to examine them and get down to the real meaning of this word.
• Matthew 10:38 NKJ And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
• TheScriptures1998: “And he who does not take up his stake and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
• Peshitta And anyone that does not take up his staff and come and follow me is not worthy of me.

The foot note in the Peshitta says that this word staff ; “To take up your staff and follow means to exercise your personal authority. A staff is a symbol of authority that is used for mobility and protection (numbers 17:16-25) Christian versions insert “cross” here which does not appear in either Aramaic or Greek texts.

The Peshitta is a bible written from the original Aramaic letters of the apostles which were kept in the Eastern Orthodox churches and never translated. They were copied in the original Aramaic down through the centuries.

• Matthew 16:24 NKJ Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
• TS1998: Then ????? said to His taught ones, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me
• The Peshitta says again that it was a staff. Take up your authority and follow Yeshua.

• Matthew 27:32 NKJ
Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross.
• Matthew 27:40 NKJ
and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”

• Matthew 27:42 NKJ
“He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him.

The word cross in each of the scriptures above is stake in both the Pehitta and TS. This stake is the piece of wood that went across from one hand to the other. It is this stake that Yeshua was nailed to. It was to this stake that the sign above Him was also nailed. Each of the remaining verse which the NKJV says is the cross is in actual fact from the word which means stake or piece of wood.

From the Peshitta on page 572 in the footnote #64 Andrew Roth states ‘The Greek Stauros (which is the word translated as cross) also denotes upright stake; the verb stauroo means to drive stakes. The Greek xulon denotes a timber or a log or any piece of dead wood. Bullinger’s Companion Bible notes that “Our English word cross is the translation of the Greek word crux; but the Greek strauros no more means a crux than the word stick means a crutch.
Now lets see what the bible has to say about what Yeshua was killed on by the very people who were there.

• Acts 5:30 NKJ The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.
TS1998: “The Elohim of our fathers raised up ????? whom you laid hands on, hanging Him on a timber.
Peshitta The Eloim of our forefathers, raised Yeshua, He Whom you killed when you hung Him on the tree.

• Acts 10:39 NKJ And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree.

TS1998: “And we are witnesses of all He did, both in the country of the Yehud?im and in Yerushalayim, whom they even killed by hanging on a timber.

Notice that they are witnesses to the fact that Yeshua was hung on a tree not a cross.

• Acts 13:29 NKJ
Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.
• Galatians 3:13 NKJ
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”*),
TS1998: Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Torah, having become a curse for us – for it has been written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree.”
• 1 Peter 2:24 NKJ
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.

Deut 21:22 KJV: And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
Deut. 21:23 KJV: His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

TS1998: “And when a man has committed a sin worthy of death, then he shall be put to death and you shall hang him on a tree.
23 TS1998: “Let his body not remain overnight on the tree, for you shall certainly bury him the same day – for he who is hanged is accursed of Elohim – so that you do not defile the land which ???? your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance.

Here in Deuteronomy we are told that we are not to leave someone hanging on a tree over night. Yet in all of the Torah there is written nowhere that we are to hang someone on a tree. Yet the Apostles tell us Yeshua was hung on a tree and He was taken down from that tree and buried in a tomb close by.

Now that we know Yeshua was hung on a tree and not a cross, you should now understand why He became accursed as Paul says in Galatians.

Let’s look at what an accursed thing is.

Deuteronomy 7: 24 “And He shall give their sovereigns into your hand, and you shall destroy their name from under the heavens. No one is going to be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them. 25 “The carved images of their mighty ones you are to burn with fire. Do not covet the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, lest you be snared by it, for it is an abomination to ???? your Elohim. 26 “And do not bring an abomination into your house, lest you be accursed like it. Utterly loathe it and utterly hate it, for it is accursed.

Anything that is associated with false gods was accursed and to be loathed and not touched.

Deuteronomy 13: 12 “When you hear someone in one of your cities, which ???? your Elohim gives you to dwell in, saying, 13 ‘Some men, sons of Beliya?al, have gone out of you midst and led the inhabitants of their city astray, saying, “Let us go and serve other mighty ones” ’ – mighty ones whom you have not known – 14 then you shall inquire, search out, and ask diligently. And see if the matter is true and established that this abomination was done in your midst, 15 you shall certainly smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, putting it under the ban, and all that is in it and its livestock, with the edge of the sword. 16 “And gather all its plunder into the middle of the street, and completely burn with fire the city and all its plunder, before ???? your Elohim. And it shall be a heap forever, never to be built again. 17 “And none of that which is put under the ban is to cling to your hand, so that ???? turns from the fierceness of His displeasure and shall show you compassion, love you and increase you, as He swore to your fathers, 18 when you obey the voice of ???? your Elohim, to guard all His commands which I command you today, to do what is right in the eyes of ???? your Elohim.

The abomination of trying to get others to serve foreign gods makes one accursed. In this translation ‘under the ban’ means accursed. Notice what was to be done to the accursed thing. Not just the people who did this but all their belongings, all those in the city and all the animals too and the whole city burned.

As we just read Yeshua became this accursed thing. He was to be burned because He was hung on a tree.
Now after the Israelites had marched around the city of Jericho 7 times they were warned by Joshua in Joshua 6: 18 “And you, by all means guard yourselves from that which is under the ban, lest you come under the ban when you take of that which is under the ban, and make the camp of Yisra’?l a curse, and shall trouble it. 19 “But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are set-apart to ????, they go into the treasury of ????.”

But in Joshua 7 we read of what happened when someone took of the accursed thing.

1 But the children of Yisra’?l committed a trespass regarding that which is under the ban, for Ak?an son of Karmi, son of Zab?di, son of Zerah?, of the tribe of Yehud?ah, took of that which is under the ban. And the displeasure of ???? burned against the children of Yisra’?l. 2 Now Yehoshua sent men from Yerih?o to Ai, which is beside B?yth Awen, on the east side of B?yth ?l, and spoke to them, saying, “Go up and spy out the land.” And the men went up and spied out Ai. 3 And they returned to Yehoshua and said to him, “Let not all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai. Do not make all the people toil up there, for the people of Ai are few.” 4 And about three thousand men went up there from the people, but they fled before the men of Ai. 5 And the men of Ai smote about thirty-six men, for they pursued them from before the gate as far as Sheb?arim, and smote them on the descent. So the hearts of the people melted and became like water. 6 And Yehoshua tore his garments, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of ???? until evening, both he and the elders of Yisra’?l, and they put dust on their heads. 7 And Yehoshua said, “Oh Master ????, why have You brought this people over the Yard?n at all, to give us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? If only we had been content to stay beyond the Yard?n! 8 “O ????, what do I say when Yisra’?l turns its back before its enemies, 9 and the Kena?anites and all the inhabitants of the land hear, and shall surround us, and cut off our name from the earth. What then do You do for Your great Name?” 10 And ???? said to Yehoshua, “Rise up! Why are you lying on your face? 11 “Yisra’?l has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. And they have even taken some of that which is under the ban, and have both stolen and deceived, and also put it among their own goods. 12 “And the sons of Yisra’?l shall not be able to stand before their enemies. They are going to turn their backs before their enemies, for they have become accursed. I am not with you any more, unless you destroy that which is under the ban from your midst. 13 “Rise up, set the people apart, and you shall say, ‘Set yourselves apart for tomorrow, because thus said ???? Elohim of Yisra’?l, “That which is under the ban is in your midst, O Yisra’?l. You are not able to stand before your enemies until you put away that which is under the ban out of your midst.” 14 ‘And you shall be brought near in the morning, according to your tribes. And it shall be, the tribe which ???? takes comes according to clans. And the clan which ???? takes comes by households. And the household which ???? takes comes by men. 15 ‘And it shall be that he who is taken with that which is under the ban is burned with fire, he and all that he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of ????, and because he has committed wickedness in Yisra’?l.’ ” 16 So Yehoshua arose early in the morning and brought Yisra’?l by their tribes, and the tribe of Yehud?ah was taken, 17 and he brought the clan of Yehud?ah, and he took the clan of the Zarh?ites. And he brought the clan of the Zarh?ites by men, and Zab?di was taken. 18 And he brought his household by men, and Ak?an son of Karmi, son of Zab?di, son of Zerah?, of the tribe of Yehud?ah, was taken. 19 Then Yehoshua said to Ak?an, “My son, now give esteem to ???? Elohim of Yisra’?l, and make confession to Him. And please declare to me what you have done, do not hide it from me.” 20 So Ak?an answered Yehoshua and said, “Truly, I have sinned against ???? Elohim of Yisra’?l, and this is what I did: 21 “When I saw among the spoil a lovely garment from Shin?ar, and two hundred sheqels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty sheqels, I coveted them and took them. And see, they are hidden in the ground in the midst of my tent, with the silver under it.” 22 And Yehoshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent. And see, it was hidden in his tent, with the silver under it. 23 And they took them from the midst of the tent, brought them to Yehoshua and to all the children of Yisra’?l, and laid them out before ????. 24 Then Yehoshua, and all Yisra’?l with him, took Ak?an son of Zerah?, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his donkeys, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had, and they brought them to the Valley of Ak?or. 25 And Yehoshua said, “Why have you troubled us? ???? does trouble you today!” Then all Yisra’?l stoned him with stones. And they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones. 26 And they raised over him a great heap of stones, which remains to this day. Then ???? turned from the fierceness of His displeasure. Therefore the name of that place has been called the Valley of Ak?or to this day.

His wife and sons and daughters and all his livestock and possessions were brought together and stoned to death and then burned.
This place where Achan was stoned is also a place of future prophetic expectations.

Hosea 2:14 “Therefore, see, I am alluring her, and shall lead her into the wilderness, and shall speak to her heart, 15 and give to her vineyards from there, and the Valley of Ak?or as a door of expectation. And there she shall respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Mitsrayim. 16 “And it shall be, in that day,” declares ????, “that you call Me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer call Me ‘My Ba?al.’

We can now see that when someone or something is accursed it is abhorred to Yahweh and to be stoned and burned. This is why I say Yahshua was stoned to death hanging on a tree. You can read this article at https://sightedmoon.com/sightedmoon_2015/?page_id=28 This is also why Joseph of Aramathea hurried to Pilot to claim the body.

Let’s get back to the tree.

We read In Mathew 21: 18 And returning to the city early in the morning, He became hungry. 19 And seeing a single fig tree by the way, He came to it and found naught on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” And immediately the fig tree withered. 20 And the taught ones, seeing it, marvelled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither so soon?” 21 And ????? answering, said to them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have belief and do not doubt, you shall not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ it shall be done. 22 “And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.”

Mark 11: 19 And when evening came, He went out of the city. 20 And in the morning, passing by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 Then K?pha, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered.” 22 And ????? answering, said to them, “Have belief in Elohim. 23 “For truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says, shall be done, he shall have whatever he says

Take special note of these verses. In Mathew 21:17 we read 17 Then He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and He lodged there. In verse 18 Yeshua is returning to the Temple from Bethany.

Bethany (Arabic: al-Azariyya) is a Muslim and Christian Arab village (pop. 3,600) on the southeast slopes of the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem. Bethany was the home of the Lazarus, Mary and Martha. It is directly east of the Temple about a 30 minute walk. The road from Bethany goes right over the Mount of Offence to the Bridge that crossed over to the Temple across the Kidron Valley. Today this road now turns north and descends down the Mount of Offence and goes down in front of what is today called the Temple Mount where this road crosses the Kidron. At the top of this mount the road goes into a circle which goes either east or north. But if you were to go to the west, that is where the Bridge to the Original Temple would be; And it is near this spot that Yeshua cursed the fig tree on His way back to the Temple.
Why did Yeshua have a hissy fit and curse this tree?
Stop and think. What time of year is this taking place in? It was just before Passover. So it was spring time. I have been to Israel for Passover. I have looked at the fig trees. There is no fruit on them at this time of year, so why would He expect to find some.
To help find the answer we have to go back to the Garden of Eden.

Genesis 2: the midst of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 10 And a river went out of ?d?en to water the garden, and from there it divided and became four riverheads. 11 The name of the first is Pishon, it is the one surrounding the entire land of H?awilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium is there, and the shoham stone. 13 And the name of the second river is Gih?on, it is the one surrounding the entire land of Kush. 14 And the name of the third river is H?iddeqel, it is the one which goes toward the east of Ashshur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates. 15 And ???? Elohim took the man and put him in the garden of ?d?en to work it and to guard it. 16 And ???? Elohim commanded the man, saying, “Eat of every tree of the garden, 17 but do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day that you eat of it you shall certainly die.”

Genesis 3: 1 And the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which ???? Elohim had made, and he said to the woman, “Is it true that Elohim has said, ‘Do not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We are to eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden, 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Elohim has said, ‘Do not eat of it, nor touch it, lest you die.’ ” 4 And the serpent said to the woman, “You shall certainly not die. 5 “For Elohim knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be like Elohim, knowing good and evil.” 6 And the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, and she took of its fruit and ate. And she also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made loin coverings for themselves.
Once they had sinned and eaten of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they knew they were naked and sewed what together to cover themselves? They reached for the closest thing and that was the large leaves of the fig tree. The fig tree was what represented the tree of knowledge of good and evil and it is for this reason that Yahshua cursed this tree on his way back from Bethany.
But there is more to this story. Location Location Location. You need to be there on the mount of Offence to understand this. The Temple is across the Kidron Valley over top of the Gihon Spring. It is directly across from this place where the road goes to the north and down the Mount of Olives and also at this juncture on the top of this mount the road also goes east to Bethany. The fig tree is near if not in the Garden of Gethsemane which is on top of the Mount of Offence and not where the tour buses take the Christian tourists today. This fig tree is very close to what used to be the Red Heffer altar and also known as the Sin Offering altar which was on the Mount of Offence.
Yahshua knows that He is to be arrested and is going to be hung in a tree at this very place. He does not want to be hung on the tree of Knowledge of good and evil so He curses the tree so that it withers and goes away.

This leaves the other tree which is the one He is hung on. What kind of tree is it? It is symbolic of the tree of life.

Let me suggest to you it was an almond tree. I base this on the following verse in Number 17: 6 So Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and each of their leaders gave him a rod apiece, for each leader according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. 7 And Moses placed the rods before Yahweh in the tabernacle of witness. 8 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.

We are also told in Exodus 25 of the building of the Menorah. Each of the 7 lamp stands was to have almond blossoms for the bowls.
If you were Yahweh and sitting in the temple watching Yeshua being hung on the tree with the other two thieves, it would look like a Menorah with their six arms in the air. Yeshua is the servant lamp or slave lamp and is in the middle and you would see him with an arm on both side and his head as the Shamash lamp.

There were not three crosses, there was one tree upon which the two thieves and Yeshua were hung. This tree and these men are now accursed. They are being stoned and when they are dead they will be burned. Is this not why the one thief curse Yeshua, because he is getting hit by stones that missed Yeshua? Yes this is pure speculation on my part.

As you are reading this, this weekend I will be sleeping on the Mount of Offence where Yeshua was murdered and hung on a tree and stoned. This is the most special place and the quietest place even though the whole city is hustling about around it. Whenever I bring people here they are transfixed with the serenity. At another time I will tell you of the treasure that is here, but this is enough for now.

As we now go to Mathew 2:19-4:25 we read of John the Baptizer. Last week we showed you about how men are compared to Trees. You are a tree and expected to bear fruit. Now we read in Mathew how every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
In order for you the tree to bear good fruit you must have the sap of the Holy Spirit flowing through you. We are told by Peter that once we are baptized we will receive this Holy Spirit. I would like to recommend you read the following booklet on the subject and then talk to an elder of your assembly about being baptized. http://www.beyondtoday.tv/booklets/tl/whybebaptized.asp

In Mathew 4 we read about how Yeshua went into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. When Satan asked Eve three questions eve tried to reason with him. We are now given an example of how to address Satan. You do not reason but you do quote correctly the right scriptures’.
The second time Satan addresses Yeshua Satan is now accurately quoting Scripture to Him. Satan quotes to Yeshua Psalm 91:12 They bear you up in their hands, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. Satan said this to Yeshua and told Him to jump of the pinnacle of the Temple. This Pinnacle was the corner of the temple and was 450 feet above the Kidron Valley. It was from here that James was thrown off.

But Notice what Yeshua does. He does not dispute the scripture for Satan has quoted it accurately. But like many of the brethren they quote scripture and leave out or forget other scriptures that also must be brought to bear upon a situation.
Yeshua then quotes Deuteronomy 6:16 “Do not try ???? your Elohim as you tried Him in Massah.

We can read about how Yahweh allowed a lying spirit to go out and entice Ahab. 1 Kings 22: 20 “And ???? said, ‘Who shall entice Ah?ab? to go up and fall at Ramoth Gil?ad??’ And this one said this, and another said that. 21 “And a spirit came forward and stood before ????, and said, ‘Let me entice him.’ 22 “And ???? said to him, ‘In what way?’ And he said, ‘I shall go out and be a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And He said, ‘Entice him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’

We can see that Yahweh will allow us to be tested. Yahweh test us each week with the Sabbath to see if we will keep it or not. He test us with the Holy Days and now He has tested us with the Sabbatical year, all to see if we will obey Him.

He has also other tests to see if we will choose the right scripture when we are tempted with adding another Holy Day which is not found in Leviticus 23. Some will say it is OK but is it.

1 John 4:1 Beloved ones, do not believe every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of Elohim, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Mathew 4 finishes with the selection of the apostles and making them into Fishers of men. We just did a study on the Hunters and fishers which you can read at:

Passover is on the Afternoon of March 31 when Yeshua is killed as the Passover lamb at 3 PM. (All leaven removed from houses)
First Day of Unleavened: Evening of March 31 thru evening ending April 1 (No work) This is the day the Death Angel passed over the Israelites and killed the first born of the Egyptian.

Wave Sheaf: April/4 Yeshua ascended to heaven about 8 Am when this offering is made at the Temple. This is the day that begins the Omer Count to Pentecost. This is a Sunday.
Last Day of Unleavened: Evening of 4/6 thru evening ending 4/7 (No work)
