1st Day of Sixth Month and 40 Days of Repentance

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shalom Brethren,

With the news about the sighting of the moon this month, this is an excellent example of the scripture in action. That scripture is No man shall know the day or the hour of the return of the son of man. Mt 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
Why??? Why can’t we know?

The answer comes from understanding that the Feast of Trumpets is when the Messiah is to come. This is the whole purpose to this Feast. This Feast is on the first day of the Seventh Month. It is the beginning of the Ten Days of Awe and the time of Judgment on the world.

If you keep this Feast according to the Hebrew calendar then you have postponed the actual day each year and based your day on calculated methods. When you do this the scripture in Mathew makes no sense when you compare it to what Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

No man can know the day or the hour and yet Paul says that this day shall not overtake you as a thief. Which means we will know about when, and not exactly at what hour or on which day.

We have this exact scenario happening this month with the calendar. We know about which day either Friday or Saturday, but we do not know at what hour the new sighted moon will be scene. If this happens in the first month or the seventh month, then all the Holy Days in that month will be changed by a day. If you keep the Sabbath on Sunday and not Saturday would this be breaking the 4th commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day? Yes it would because you kept it on the wrong day. It is no different when you come to the Holy Days. You must keep them on the correct day. This is determined by the moon and when it is seen.
So now I would like to share with you what Michael Rood has to say and Nehemiah Gordon. I have waited until late on Sunday to post this, to give any other witnesses enough time to come forward.

New Moon Report
Sixth Biblical Month
Part 1

On Friday August 21, 2009 observers looked for the moon from Jerusalem but did not sight it. Visibility was uncertain this evening. Further sighting reports will be posted as they arrive. Barring a positive sighting for Friday evening, new moon will be Saturday night.

Shalom New Moon and Aviv Barley Fans,
The evening of August 28th 2009 presents an interesting New Moon sighting situation. Historically, a 1% illuminated moon, standing 8 degrees above the horizon at 5 minutes after sunset, is our tried and true cut off point for naked eye visibility under ideal conditions. However, a large 2.32% illumination at a scant 4.73 degrees, above the horizon is a very rare occurrence and we do not know if it is possible to observe this terrestrial event even under ideal conditions. So, we wait and watch for the new moon that begins the 6th month of the 6009th year from creation. {Michael and I disagree as to which year we are in. I claim this is the 5845th year}

This new moon begins the traditional 40 Days of Repentance that leads up to the Day of Atonement. If your life has gone anything like mine, you have done things that you regret, have made decisions that you lament, and vividly rehearse vengeances that you repent for even thinking. As we enter the season of repentance, we all need to take the time to repent, forgive, forget, and move on toward the Feast of Tabernacles in the upcoming moon(th). If the truth be told; if we were judged half as harshly as we would judge those who have wronged us – would we not be in danger of roasting in the Lake of Fire for a very long time? I am thankful that a loving and merciful Messiah will be on the throne – but even he said that we will be judged by the measuring stick that we ourselves hew. We may not deserve it – but each one of us needs a break from the past and a clean fresh start in the Mikveh of repentance.

Whether the new moon is sighted at the beginning of Shabbat, or unseen until the next evening (which means that we will turn the calendar page to: 6th – 6009B) it is an excellent time to turn the page of our hearts and proclaim, “all things work together for good…” (Romans 8:28). We can transform our wretched old man by simply renewing our mind and thinking about ourselves and others in accordance with the Word of YHVH.

Since the new moon cannot be sighted before the Sabbath begins, and the rabbis in Israel rigorously restrict reporting the new moon on the Sabbath, we may not have an accurate report of the 6th new moon until the reports come in on Sunday. I will write you back then. I assure you, it won’t disturb the course of the universe if you start repenting a day early. Have a good Sabbath…

New Moon Report
August 2009
Sixth Biblical Month
Part 2

On Saturday August 22, 2009 the new moon was sighted from Jerusalem by Devorah Gordon at 7:02, by Johan Schutte at 7:10, and by Dina Marcus at 7:22pm. We are still waiting to hear from some observers whether or not they sighted it from Israel on Friday night.

Lo, and Behold!
According to all reports as of 0600 Sunday morning Jerusalem time, the new moon was not sighted in Israel at the beginning of the Sabbath on August 21st, despite the noble attempt of numerous veteran new moon observers. By default, the 6th month of the 6009th year from creation is reckoned from the end of the 30th day, which was at sundown, at the end of the Sabbath, August 22nd. Calendar page: 6th – 6009B is the official calendar for the month on the Astronomically and Agriculturally Corrected Biblical Hebrew Calendar.

Next month we will be introducing the new I Phone application: the Astronomically and Agriculturally Corrected Biblical Hebrew Calendar. I have tried it and it is an absolute hoot! The A Rood Awakening! theme song will be out soon as a new ring tone and wake up call – just before the global economic collapse!

Wishing you a plethora of reconciliation in the 40 Days of Repentance…
Michael Rood

P.S. Fourteen Arab countries declared that the month of Ramadan would start on Saturday August 22nd, after their legal moon sighting panels failed to produce new moon witnesses on Friday evening. It seems that none of Abraham’s descendants, even those who converted to pagan moon-god worship, were able to catch the rare new moon opportunity in any part of the land promised to the sons of Israel.

So Sunday August 23 and Saturday Evening the 22 will be the first day of the sixth month.

I pray you will meditate and ask our Father to show you the truth about the beginning of the month and help you to come to a clear understanding.
“If you love Me, keep My commandments. Bottom Line. May Yahweh bless you and show you His truths as you begin to keep His commandments.
Shabbat Shalom
