Joseph and the Hyksos

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,

We watch and wait to see if today is the day the USA attacks Iran. We hold our breath, wondering if Iran is going to be able to harm the USA and or Israel? We watch the Strait of Hormuz and wonder if we have enough gas for the spike that is coming. Do we have sufficient food for the anticipated increase? Are we as a people ready? Are you ready?

The second great exodus is about to take place in these last days. It will be so great that the first one will be forgotten or not mentioned. But before you can be brought out of slavery, you have to go into it. Slavery, captivity, and Egypt represent the sins that enslave you. Each year as we enter the Passover season, we have to work to remove those sins that enslave us out of our lives. When you vacuum the house, do you realize what you are doing? You are symbolically removing the sins of your lives that hold you back.

We are also going to share a teaching that is new to me and got me excited to hear it about who the Hyksos people are. I loved this teaching, and I hope you enjoy it as well.

The festival dates have all been updated at https://sightedmoon.com/holy-days/. If the barley is Aviv by Wave Sheaf Day on March 8, 2026, then all these dates are very close, depending on when the moon will be seen. Once again, this confirms the Hebrewism Yehshua said, that no one would know the day or the hour. We are just not sure until we actually see the barley and sight the moon; then we will know for certain.

We also launched Sightedmoon Radio in December 2025, with Ryan Nall as our host and manager.  https://live365.com/station/Sightedmoon-Radio-a64763 We need your help. Please go to your Apple iTunes and find Sightedmoon.com Radio. Listen to at least one podcast; only after you have listened will you be able to rank the podcast. Please help us by giving it a five-star rating and leaving a favourable comment. You can do the same for iHeart and Spotify. It is a small thing that you can do to help ITunes then share our podcast with others looking for religious content. And we are getting reports religious content is bombing on the podcast channels. But we need your help from around the world so that we get a broad base favouring our podcasts. Please do this small thing to help us get the word out.

You can also now go to the app store and download the Live365 app onto your iPhone and then search for Sightedmoon Radio and start to listen to us whenever you want to hear wholesome Messianic music, or some old-time country gospel, or an interview as we continue to add to our program.

I would also like to encourage you to subscribe to our podcasts at sightedmoon.com. Please share these podcasts on your social media platforms and let others know what you are learning here. I want to encourage you all to give the gift that keeps on giving. Give your loved ones a copy of It Was A Riddle, Not A Command and tell them it shows precisely which day Jesus was born on. Let this book do for them what you cannot do yourself. Let it convict them. Then you can have that conversation you have been praying Yehovah will grant you by having your family in this walk with you. Get a copy and give it to them today.  https://sightedmoon.com/riddle-lp/. We read this book at the Shabbat meetings a few years ago and have recently published videos that include the readings and the midrash that followed.  Please have a look in order to whet your appetite to share this book (YouTube Link).

We also need your support and ask that you consider buying us a coffee each day this month. Just that little bit of help on your part will help us cover the ads, website costs, and promotions so others can learn as well. Our ad campaigns are in full swing as I write and will be for the next two months. Join us and be part of this work at the end of this age. I also want to thank everyone who has supported us each month for many years. You have paid it forward and made it possible for those new people Yehovah is now calling. I hope others will join us and help carry this torch to the next level.

The Stones Cry Out Part 1 & Part 2

The Stones Cry Out Part 1 & Part 2

Do you want to know how to prove the Zadok Calendar, the Enoch Calendar, and the Book of Jubilee Calendar false?

Do you want to know how the calendar issue became so confusing?

I got this awesome endorsement and I want to share it here now. with you.

In The Stones Cry Out, I walk you through the history of each change and why those changes came about, starting with the Maccabean days. Yes, it all began around 164 B.C. When Yehshua was here, he was dealing with two schools of thought. The Sadducees were all but wiped out when the Temple fell in 70 C.E. This left only the Pharisees, who began to be persecuted after the failure of the Bar Kochbah Revolt in 134 C.E.

The truth began to become out of focus around 160 C.E. when Rabbi Jose wrote the Seder Olam. This work originally was written to proof Simon Bar Kochbah was the Messiah. When that did not pan out the history was later revived and then redacted as the truth into the Mishneh Torah by Rabbi Judah ha Nasi in 180 C.E. After this the Jerusalem Talmud begins to debate these issues. It was then during this time as the Jerusalem Talmudist are forced to flee and the Babylonian Talmudist continue to grow until the 6th century that Hillel came up with a solution to help them keep the Holy Days at the proper time while they were out of the land of Israel. He did this in 358 C.E. This work was then modified and adjusted over the next 800 years with additions added and other rejected. Until it was finally redacted once again in 1177 by Rambam. And with that we now have the modern Hillel calendar which includes the errors passed on during each redaction. These errors included the time of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years.

Once the Temple was destroyed in 70 C.E., the Jews recorded time by counting from the time It was destroyed. This is why the 40 tombstones of Zoar, which record this information, are crucial to understand.

When you understand why the Postponement rules were first created so that the crescent moon would not be seen in another part of the world before it was seen in Israel then you can understand how they were still trying to follow the crescent moon to begin the month. The Tombstones show us this exact thing. The tombstones also show us when the Jews changed from a crescent moon to a Conjunction moon to begin the month. They also show us when the Jews changed the year from the month of Aviv to the Tishri to begin the year.

I really want you to understand these things so you know why you do what you do as far as following a calendar to keep Yehovah’s moedim.

I would like to add this recent comment to encourage you all to get this book and learn these truths. And the Book is FREE. You have no reason not to get it.

Most people assume that Hillel created the calendar in 358 C.E. They then assume that because it was a Sanhedrin, they are not allowed to change in order to obey Yehovah. The Hillel calendar has been changed many times since 358 C.E. up until 1177 C.E. Few people talk about these changes but we do in our latest Book The Stones Cry Out Part 1 which is free on our website. The Hillel calendar was changed on many occasions and many sought to make other changes during this time. They never needed a Bet Din to approve those changes. They just did them. So this excuse that we do not have the right to obey Yehovah because the Bet Din has not approved it is a crock of crap.
You have the obligation to obey Yehovah. You have the duty to prove which calendar you are to go by. You must prove it beyond all doubt. Yehshua never followed the Hillel calendar. Nor did any of the Apostles.
The reason no man can know the day or the hour is because it refers to a crescent moon to begin the 7th month. That is the day He was born on and the day He comes to judge on. At a day and hour no one can know. Using the Hillel calendar predicts Yom Teruah years in advance so every one knows when to keep it. But even in the Hillel calendar they keep two days of Yom Teruah reckoning back to the sighted moon. Also in the postponement rules developed long after Hillel, they again state that if the conjunction is at a certain time then the day begins at such and such, in order that the moon will not be seen in another part of the world before it is seen in Israel. That was rule number 2.
Everyone has to choose. You have the right to be wrong. But if you choose to be wrong then you also must live with the consequences that come with sin. And that is the death penalty for not keeping the Holy Days, these Sabbath at the proper time. It is your choice.
Just because you write in to me to justify your position does mean it is right. It just means your sounding off.

Allow me to share this endorsement of our latest book again. If you have read our books, please share your thoughts about them with us in the comments below or email me.

And yes, many observe the Equinox.  There are many who are deceived, improperly educated.  And this is why Joe puts out a newsletter every week, why he writes books, why the SightedMoon Zoom Shabbat service started, why he travels to places like England and the Philippines to share this message and why were are going to the NRB in February.  The calendar is always a divisive issue in social circles because the details are many, that’s why there are so many books Joe has written.  I’m not looking to put Joe on a pedestal here.  This is not about Joe worship.  But Joe has tenaciously studied out the calendar from every angle, not to prove himself right, to to seek to find and share what Yehovah is telling us about His Calendar.

In The Stones Cry Out, Joe has shared the history of all the different groups within Israel, and the beliefs they had about the scriptures and the feast days and the calendar.  When you line it all up, you can see for yourself the how and why these misunderstandings and arguments about how and where and why  they came about.

This is my new favourite book and I’m only 60-70 pages in.  And I encourage you to read the footnotes in this one.  Sometimes there’s more footnote on the page than Joe’s words.

When I wrote Stones Cry Out, I wanted it to be one of our FREE books so everyone would have it. It is more of an encyclopedia than a book to read. It will be your quick resource book; you will have access to every question about any calendar, how it got started, and who started it. You will also learn the history of how the Mishnah was assembled, when it was assembled and why. Then, you will learn how that information was transferred into both the Jerusalem and the Babylonian Talmud until it reached its final stage in the Mishneh Torah. Along with this progression, the calendar also progressed and changed long after 358 C.E. when Rabbi Hillel first published it. But…what was before the Hillel calendar? What does the Mishnah record about those things?

The Stones Cry Out was originally going to be one book explaining all the various proofs we have discovered, demonstrating when the Sabbatical and Jubilee years are throughout history.

You can know; it is not a mystery.

As I began to write The Stones Cry Out, I quickly found myself going back, time and time again, to explain how the calendar is behind the confusion of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. The Rabbis, as they began to write the Mishnah, incorporated wrong understandings, and those errors were written into what became known as the Talmud and then the Mishneh Torah. The expulsion from the land and subsequent persecutions in trying to send out messengers to report the barley being found or the crescent moon being seen, proved to be more and more dangerous over time. All of these things took place over 14 centuries.

Then as I was working on The Stones Cry Out, I discovered that many people were now accepting the Zadok calendar as factual. This is when we pivoted to include all the details of the various calendars that have crept back into public knowledge today and are being used to mislead new people who are just starting to learn about the calendar. All of this was directly connected to the period starting with the Hasmonaeans, up to the destruction of the Temple. Then, with the compiling of the Mishnah, the studies that led into the writing of the Jerusalem Talmud, then the Babylonian Talmud and finally the Mishneh Torah, each error that was added is compounded over time.

The Stones Cry Out, Part 1 explains the history of how each compilation of the Oral Torah incorporated errors, leading the followers thereof away from the actual Torah. In understanding these facts, it is then possible to understand more readily how the Sabbatical and Jubilee years were then mixed and later changed. By explaining all this history, I will be able to help you the reader understand the tombstones when most authorities do not. They have assumed, to their error, the Hillel calendar to have always been in use since Mount Sinai. Not understanding the history of the calendars is why most authorities dismiss the tombstones as too confusing to use. Once you understand The Stones Cry Out Part 1, Part 2 will be very easy to grasp.

Daniel 7:25 tells us he will change the appointed seasons and commandments. Many assume Constantine did this when he made Sunday the Sabbath. Few have considered the calendar’s many changes and how they relate to us today. Hidden in this proverbial swamp of confusion is the truth about the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. The Sabbatical and Jubilee years reveal the truths about the calendar that have been hidden for almost 2000 years.

We are in the very last days and Yehshua warned us that during this time:

Mat 24:10 And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another.

Mat 24:11 And many false prophets will rise and deceive many.

Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will become cold.

Mat 24:13 But he who endures to the end, the same shall be kept safe.

Paul also warned Timothy about these last days, warning that some would leave the truth and begin to follow demonic teachers:

1Ti 4:1 But the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,

Paul again warned the Thessalonians that the Great Falling away would take place in the last days. How can you fall away if you have never come to know the truth? So who is Paul talking to? Those who are called and answer that calling begin to walk this road of restoration back to Yehovah, and then at some point along that walk, they change and leave this walk following the teachings of demons to false calendar.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, my brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,

2Th 2:2 that you should not be soon shaken in mind or troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word or letter, as through us, as if the Day of Christ is at hand.

2Th 2:3 Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition,

2Th 2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.

We must endure until the end. We must not let ourselves become offended by personalities and leave the faith once given.

Join Our Sabbath Meetings

There are many people in need of fellowship and who are sitting at home on the Sabbath with no one to talk to or debate with. I want to encourage all of you to join us on Shabbat, and to invite others to come and join us as well. If the time is not convenient then you can listen to the teaching and the midrash after on our YouTube channel.

What are we doing and why do we teach this way?

We are going to discuss both sides of an issue and then let you choose. It is the work of the Ruach (Spirit) to direct and to teach you.

The medieval commentator Rashi wrote that the Hebrew word for wrestle (avek) implies that Jacob was “tied”, for the same word is used to describe knotted fringes in a Jewish prayer shawl, the tzitzityot. Rashi says, “thus is the manner of two people who struggle to overthrow each other, that one embraces the other and knots him with his arms”.

Our intellectual wrestling has been replaced by a different kind of struggle. We are wrestling with Yehovah as we grapple with His Word. It is an intimate act, symbolizing a relationship in which Yehovah and you and I are bound together. My wrestling is a struggle to discover what Yehovah expects of us, and we are “tied” to the One who assists us in that struggle.

Today, many say Israel means “Champion of God”, or better — the “Wrestler of God”.

Our Torah sessions each Shabbat teaches you and encourages you to constantly challenge, question, argue against, as well as view alternative views and explanations of the Word. In other words, we are to “wrestle with the Word” to get to the truth. Jews worldwide believe that you need to wrestle with the Word and constantly challenge Dogma, Theology, and views or else you will never get to the Truth.

We are not like most churches where “The preacher talks and everyone listens.” We encourage everyone to participate, to question and to contribute what they know on the subject being discussed. We want you to be a champion wrestler of the Word of Yehovah. We want you to wear the title of Israel, knowing that you not only know but are capable of explaining why you know the Torah to be true with logic and facts.

We have a few rules though. Let others talk and listen. There is no discussion about UFO’s, Nephilim, Vaccines or conspiracy-type subjects. We have people from around the world with different world views. Not everyone cares who is the President of any particular country. Treat each other with respect as fellow wrestlers of the word. Some of our subjects are hard to understand and require you to be mature and if you do not know, then listen to gain knowledge and understanding and hopefully wisdom. The very things you are commanded to ask Yehovah for and He gives to those who ask.

Jas 1:5  But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.

We hope you can invite those who want to keep Torah to come and join us by hitting the link below. It is almost like a Torah teaching fellowship talk show with people from around the world taking part and sharing their insights and understandings.

We start off with some music and then some prayers and it’s as though you were sitting around the kitchen back in Newfoundland having a cup of coffee and all of us enjoying each other’s company. I hope you will grace us with your company someday.

Sabbath services begin at 12:30 PM EDT where we will be doing prayers, songs and teaching from this hour.

Shabbat midrash will begin at about 1:15 pm Eastern.

We look forward to you joining our family and getting to know us as we get to know you.

It Was A Riddle Not A Command

It Was A Riddle Not A Command

Listen to this Podcast discussing one of Joseph’s most popular books.

You Can Learn the Secret Meaning of:

No One Knows the Day of the Hour

Why does no One Know When Jesus was born?

When Does the Thief in the Night Come?

Why Are the Foolish Virgins Rejected?

No One Knows The Day or The Hour is a Hebrew idiom or parable.

Jesus spoke in parables to conceal His message which He later explained to the Apostles.

No One Knows The Day or the Hour is telling you the very day He will come back on!

The exact opposite to what you thought it said!

This is the very same day when He first came.

The Book of Revelation Tells you the very day and hour He was born.

You are given clues in Revelation about the thief that comes in the night, about being caught naked and ashamed. All of these clues tell you about the very day He is coming back.

Paul wrote to the Thessalonians telling them they had no need to write them about the Day of the Lord

FOR THEY KNEW FULL WELL THE MOEDIM!!!

Knowing the Moedim shows you the Day and Hour No Man Can Know.

We are also told about the Two Witnesses in the Book of Revelation…
What revelations do the Two Witnesses show you about the birth of Jesus?

There was a heavenly Host praising God when Jesus was born.
This, too, tells you the Day He was born.

Are you aware that the 5 Foolish Virgins did not understand what the Thief in the Night was?
Do You?

All these questions and so much more are explained in detail.
It was a Riddle for us to figure out.
It was not a command that we could not know.
We can KNOW.
YOU Can Know!

Thoroughly researched and profoundly significant!

5.0 out of 5 stars

There just isn’t a better book on Christian prophecy than this! What an eye opener!

Of the many books and articles that I have read on prophecy in my personal search for truth, this is the only one that does not rely on old ideas that were developed hundreds of years ago when knowledge was minimal. So much more has been learned through historical and archeological research. The world has changed so much that before now no one could have clearly envisioned how prophecy might play out.

I think the average Christian doesn’t realize that recent developments in technology and huge increases in knowledge offer us a unique opportunity to raise the veil so that we might see clearly what was once hidden behind a dark glass.

After learning about these things and seriously considering the Bible, with a willingness to set aside my traditional beliefs about prophecy, I have come to the conclusion that this book is inspired by God. Mr. Dumond presents compelling information that overturns long held assumptions and unverified beliefs making the entire body of prophetic knowledge fully accessible. As a matter of fact I think that just about anyone with no previous knowledge of the Bible would understand things that scholars have devoted their lives to explaining.

I would like everyone to know what is being shown in the pages of this book. No serious truth seeker should pass up the opportunity to have their eyes opened through its revelations. I believe it is the most important book ever written,- next to the Bible itself.

Thank you Joseph Dumond.

Doomsday Clock Moved to 85 Seconds to Midnight

Doomsday Clock Moved to 85 Seconds to Midnight

The Doomsday Clock, maintained by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists since 1947, was just updated today (January 27, 2026) to 85 seconds to midnight—the closest it’s ever been in its nearly 80-year history. This is a move of 4 seconds closer from last year’s setting of 89 seconds to midnight (announced in January 2025).

The Bulletin has been setting and updating the Doomsday Clock annually (or sometimes more frequently in earlier years) for 79 years, starting in 1947. It began as a visual metaphor created by artists and scientists (including Manhattan Project alumni) to warn about nuclear risks during the early Cold War. The clock has been reset 26 times total, moving forward (worse) 18 times and backward (better) 8 times.

  • Farthest from midnight: 17 minutes in 1991, after the Cold War ended and major arms reduction treaties were signed (e.g., START between the US and the Soviet Union).
  • Previous closest points: Tied at 2 minutes in 1953 (H-bomb tests) and 2018, then it shifted to seconds in the 2020s—100 seconds in 2020, 90 seconds in 2023, 89 seconds in 2025, and now 85 seconds in 2026.

More Information on Today’s Update

The Bulletin’s Science and Security Board announced this during a live event in Washington, D.C., citing a “failure of global leadership” to address escalating existential risks. Key factors include:

  • Nuclear dangers: Weakened arms control (e.g., fraying treaties like New START), aggressive rhetoric and actions by major powers (Russia, China, and the US), and ongoing wars (Ukraine and the Middle East) that raise miscalculation risks in an interconnected world.
  • Artificial intelligence (strong new emphasis this year): Unregulated AI integration into military systems, command decisions, and disinformation tools, with almost no global oversight.
  • Biological threats and pandemic preparedness: Still unresolved vulnerabilities.
  • Other factors: Climate change, rising nationalism/adversarial behaviour among nuclear states, and misinformation amplified by technology.

Quotes from the announcement:

  • Alexandra Bell (Bulletin president/CEO): “Humanity has not made sufficient progress on the existential risks that endanger us all.”
  • The Board stressed it’s not a prediction of doom, but a warning — risks created by human decisions that can still be reduced through urgent action like limiting nuclear arsenals, creating international AI guidelines, and multilateral agreements on biological threats.

The clock is symbolic, not literal — midnight represents global catastrophe (often nuclear annihilation, but now broader). It’s meant to spur public and leader action, not fear.

Joseph and the Rise of the Hyksos

Joseph and the Rise of the Hyksos

The following video is from BLK SHP Bible Talk. And he has explained something that was amazing for me to learn. I thank Shawna Sowers for bringing this to my attention.
I have revised the transcript and attempted to make it more of a coherent narrative.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTAUsgwMAZ0&list=PL-CEytk-Dk16ysEU6Nq4Iqp72rdVSH_FH&index=1

Mainstream scholars view the Joseph-Hyksos link as intriguing but speculative and unproven; no direct evidence confirms Joseph existed or that the Hyksos were Israelites specifically (they were a broader Semitic/Canaanite group). The Hyksos period involved gradual infiltration and rule over Lower Egypt, rather than a violent conquest, which aligns with some of the points here. I do not agree with most mainstream scholars, and as such, I want to share this quite plausible understanding.

The Biblical Joseph and the Rise of the Hyksos: A Compelling but Controversial Theory

Deep in the Nile Delta’s mud at Tell el-Dab’a (ancient Avaris), archaeologists have uncovered layers that challenge traditional views of Egyptian history—and spark debate over biblical connections.

For centuries, critics have dismissed the patriarchs as myths, claiming no evidence exists for Semitic shepherds in Egypt during the Middle Kingdom (c. 2050–1710 BC) or for the Exodus. They search for a gentle, forgiving figure in a colourful coat, but the Joseph of Genesis was a shrewd strategist. Psalm 105 describes him as “lord of [Pharaoh’s] house” and “ruler of all his substance,” binding princes and teaching senators wisdom—a brilliant political operator who centralized power in a fractured Egypt. (I have recorded in the Jubilee charts the year Joseph was sent into captivity at 17 and the years of the fat cows and 7 years of the famine.)

Around the late 12th Dynasty (c. 1800–1700 BC), severe Nile low floods caused famine. Egypt was decentralized: regional nomarchs (governors/warlords) controlled private granaries, armies, and taxes, paying lip service to the pharaoh. As hunger deepened, these lords surrendered land and autonomy for grain, per Genesis 47: “Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh… so the land became Pharaoh’s.” This centralized the economy, dismantled feudalism, and laid the foundations for a more absolute monarchy—echoing the shift toward the New Kingdom centuries later.

The Hyksos (15th Dynasty, c. 1650–1550 BC) are often called “invaders,” but archaeology shows no widespread destruction at Avaris—no burned layers, mass graves, or siege evidence (per Manfred Bietak’s decades-long excavations). Instead, there’s gradual Semitic infiltration: Canaanite-style pottery, housing, burials, and a growing Asiatic population. Manetho (3rd century BC) described them as conquering “without a battle,” then turning hostile—likely a later Egyptian propaganda account.

Linguistically intriguing: Manetho’s first Hyksos king, Salitis (or Salatis), matches the Hebrew shalit (“governor/ruler”), the exact title for Joseph in Genesis 42:6 (“Joseph was the governor [ha-shalit] over the land”). Manetho notes Salitis measured corn obsessively—mirroring Joseph’s grain strategy.

His successor, Bnon/Beon, aligns with Hebrew Benoni (“son of my sorrow”), Rachel’s dying name for Benjamin (Genesis 35:18), Joseph’s full brother. This suggests a familial succession in the “shepherd kings” (Hyksos = heqa khasut, “rulers of foreign lands”).

At Avaris, Bietak uncovered a massive Syrian-style palace (Middle Bronze Age, late 12th/early 13th Dynasty) with a garden cemetery of 12 prominent tombs—evoking Jacob’s 12 sons. One was a unique pyramid tomb (rare for non-royals), containing fragments of a colossal limestone statue of an Asiatic man: yellow skin (Egyptian code for Semites), red mushroom hairstyle (Levantine style), holding a throw-stick (shepherd/foreigner symbol), and traces of a multicoloured striped coat (red, blue, black, white). The statue was deliberately smashed in antiquity, and the tomb was empty—no bones, though grave robbers typically left skeletons.

This fits Exodus 13:19: Moses took Joseph’s bones during the Exodus. Some (e.g., David Rohl, a popular interpreter whom I highly regard) link it to Joseph, though mainstream Egyptologists regard it as a high-ranking Asiatic official (possibly a vizier under Amenemhat III or a similar figure) rather than as a direct biblical figure. No inscription names Joseph.

Politically, Joseph’s actions (collecting money and livestock, then land/freedom for grain) created a centralized state—saving lives but building an “iron furnace” (Deuteronomy 4:20) of absolute power. While it protected Jacob’s family initially (in fertile Goshen), later pharaohs (who “knew not Joseph”) exploited it for oppression.

The Hyksos era ended with Ahmose I’s expulsion (c. 1550 BC), launching the New Kingdom—potentially echoing the Exodus for some interpreters, though timelines and evidence don’t fully align (most scholars date any Exodus-like event later, if historical). (Sightedmoon dates the Exodus to 1379 BC. We also show in the 2300 Days of Hell, that some of the brothers of Joseph fled Egypt to found Athens, Greece, Crete and Troy at the time of Joseph’s death in 1528 BC.)

This narrative reframes the Hyksos as administrators (possibly including Jacob’s descendants) who rose peacefully amid crisis rather than as barbarians. It’s a powerful synthesis of the Bible, Manetho, and digs—but remains fringe in academia due to a lack of direct proof (no “Joseph” inscriptions, debated dates). Genesis 50:20 (“You meant evil… but God meant it for good”) highlights divine providence, yet warns against clinging to blessings that become cages.

If you’re exploring this for faith, history, or debate, check Bietak’s publications or the Bulletin’s site—no, wait, that’s unrelated. For visuals of the statue or Avaris, reliable sources show the reconstructed Asiatic figure with its striking features.

De-Leavening Your Homes and Why

De-Leavening Your Homes and Why

This Sabbath is just 4 days away from the full moon of this 12th month. In one month, we could begin celebrating Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread if the barley is Aviv. We read in Mt 24:45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?

So, with the Passover season approaching and many new people learning the Torah and wanting to keep the Holy Days, we shall now begin teaching about them.

Once again, I am telling you to turn off Oprah, Dr. Phil, and any and all distractions and to start to read your Bible. There is nothing on TV worth watching. Many of you are sharing this newsletter and encouraging others to read it and to prove those things said here true or false. I do thank you. But in reality, it is those who have come here and learned the truth that are thanking you. You have saved their lives.

But once you have been turned on to the truth, do not just read what is written here. Search other sites and groups, and learn from them what is true and what is not.

I keep telling you how little time is left, so I am trying to give you as much information as I can without overwhelming you. Turn off the TV, and this will help.

We now have just over one month until Passover. As we showed you last week, the Passover meal is eaten on the 15th, which is also the 1st day of Unleavened Bread. Passover is eaten with unleavened bread, and there are only 7 days of unleavened bread. From the 15th until the 21st day.

Immediately after the Lamb is killed at the end of the 14th day, the 7-day period of Unleavened Bread begins, a festival that shows us the next step in the plan of Yehovah. After Yehshua is sacrificed as the Passover Lamb and our sin debt is paid for, how do we continue to avoid sin, since we must go on living in newness of life? How do we live as Yehovah’s redeemed people? We find the remarkable answer in the symbolism of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

When Yehovah freed Israel from slavery in Egypt, He told His people that for “seven days you shall eat unleavened bread” (Exodus 12:15). Verse 39 further explains:

“And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for themselves.”

The leavening process, which makes bread rise, takes time. The Israelites had no time to spare when they left Egypt, so they baked and ate flat bread. What started out as a necessity continued for a week. Yehovah appropriately named this time the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Leviticus 23:6), or Days of Unleavened Bread (Acts 12:3).

When Yeshua came to earth as a human, He observed this seven-day festival, sometimes called the Feast of Passover by the Jews, because the Passover was part of the Days of Unleavened Bread. Yeshua kept it as a child and later as an adult (Luke 2:41; Matthew 26:17). The early Church kept it as well.

Yehovah gave His earliest instructions concerning this festival to the Israelites as they prepared to leave Egypt.

“This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD’ a lasting ordinance. For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut off from Israel. On the first day hold a sacred assembly, and another one on the seventh day. Do no work at all on these days, except to prepare food for everyone to eat-that is all you may do” (Exodus 12:14-16, New International Version).

This is where we get the expression “spring cleaning” from de-leavening our homes.

Each year as the Israelites observed this feast, it reminded them of Yehovah’s deliverance of their forefathers from Egypt. The Creator instructed,

“Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because it was on this very day that I brought your divisions out of Egypt” (verse 17, NIV).

The exodus from Egypt remains a foundational reason for observing this feast today. Just as Yehovah delivered ancient Israel, He delivers us from our sins and difficulties.

Now notice Yeshua’s teaching about leaven, which expands the meaning of this feast.

During Yehshua’s ministry, He performed two miracles in which a few fish and loaves of bread fed thousands of people. After one of these incidents, when His disciples had gone around the Sea of Galilee, they forgot to bring bread with them. So Yeshua told them,

“Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

The disciples thought Yeshua was referring to their lack of bread. However, He used the occasion to teach them by invoking the symbolism of leaven. Yeshua asked them,

“How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then the disciples “understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees” (Matthew 16:5-12, NASB).

Some of the members of the religious establishment of Yeshua’s day appeared to be righteous, yet they secretly practiced sinful behaviour. Yeshua let them know He knew their hearts. They may have appeared righteous to other people, “but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness” (Matthew 23:28).

How many of you let the leaven of other people’s mouths enter your mind? You dwell on their words and let them percolate, producing leaven in your mind.

The Days of Unleavened Bread remind us that with Yehovah’s help, we must remove and avoid all types of sin “symbolized by leaven” in all areas of our lives.

Symbolically, we do this by cleaning our homes, our places of business, and our cars and removing any bread or bread products that contain leaven or yeast from them.

During the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the apostle Paul taught the same spiritual lessons as Yeshua, invoking the comparison of sin to leaven. In the context of reprimanding the Corinthian congregation for its divisions, jealousies, and tolerance of sexual misconduct, Paul wrote:

“Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore, purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Yeshua, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth” (1 Corinthians 5:6-8).

The church at Corinth was obviously and unmistakably keeping the Feast of Unleavened Bread, to which Paul repeatedly alluded. However, Paul used the Corinthians’ faithful obedience in keeping the feast physically (removing leaven from their homes) as a basis for encouraging them to celebrate it with a proper understanding of its spiritual intent.

How many people have we seen, brethren, who have not guarded their mouths and shown us all the leaven in their lives?

Today, removing leaven from our homes for seven days reminds us that we, too, through prayer and Yehovah’s help and understanding, must recognize, expel, and avoid sin. The Feast of Unleavened Bread is thus a time of personal reflection. We should meditate on our attitudes and conduct and ask Yehovah to help us recognize and overcome our shortcomings. Each of us must ask for help in removing all those things we have syncretized to the Torah. It is those syncretisms that cause the divisions, and because people can’t understand this, they get upset and leave in a huge huff. Syncretism is SIN.

Paul spoke of this much-needed self-reflection in 2 Corinthians 13:5 when he told the Corinthian church:

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Yeshua the Messiah is in you, unless indeed you are disqualified.”

Paul explained the significance of the phrase “Yeshua the Messiah is in you” in Galatians 2:20:

“I have been crucified with Yeshua; it is no longer I who live, but Yeshua lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of Yehvoah, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

These seven days of self-examination prove invaluable in helping us to devote our lives to Yehovah, our Redeemer. This week-long period also pictures our eventual triumph over sin. As Yehovah delivered the ancient Israelites from enslavement to Egypt, so He delivers us from our enslavement to sin (Romans 6:12-18).

We learn by doing. We learn spiritual lessons by doing physical things. Performing the task of de-leavening our homes reminds us to vigilantly watch for sinful thoughts and actions so we can avoid them. Yehovah knows that, in spite of our good intentions, we all sin.

Many years after his conversion, Paul described the powerful human tendency to sin.

“I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of Yehovah according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank Yehovah through Yeshua the Messiah! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of Yehovah, but with the flesh the law of sin” (Romans 7:21-25).

Paul knew life itself is a battle with sin. The Bible speaks of “the sin which so easily ensnares us” (Hebrews 12:1). We have our own part to play in struggling to overcome sin. Yet, paradoxically, we must rely on Yehovah to help us. Paul explained this to the Philippians by telling them to

“work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is Yehovah who works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:12-13, King James Version).

Our observance of the Days of Unleavened Bread helps us realize our need for Yeshua’s help in overcoming our weaknesses. Yet this feast is certainly a time for rejoicing because Yeshua freely gives us the help we need. Yeshua, the Lamb of Yehovah, was sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins, thus unleavening, or cleansing, our lives. He continues to help us live obediently through Yehovah’s Spirit dwelling in us.

Paul tells us in

Ro 2:13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified;

James tells us it is the doers of the law who will be justified.

Jas 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Let’s read what James also has to say about doing things.

James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your F6 works, and I will show you my faith by my F7 works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”  And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Some brethren do not believe we should keep the days of unleavened bread. Some do, but they say you do not have to remove the leaven from your homes.

The Bible says we must keep this time forever, that you must remove the leaven, and that by doing so, you are acting out your faith through your works.

I am sharing this message now so you have time to begin cleaning one or two rooms a week before the Days arrive, in about one month. You will see, as you move your fridge and stove, how the crud has piled up over time and how hard it is to remove. This is the same as sin sneaking into your lives and you not knowing it until one day it is exposed. Then you see how hard it is to remove or correct that sin. It is not easy.

You will learn by doing. Please consider doing the necessary cleaning in your home so that you will be ready for Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread. Do not give your bread to your kids or neighbours. Eat it now or throw it out. Get rid of the yeast. Stop arguing about which types and splitting hairs. For one week, just get rid of it all and do not worry about whether it is or is not. leaven. Just get rid of it. Make sure to empty your vacuum and dispose of the waste so it isn’t sitting in your garage until garbage day. Don’t forget your car and work areas.

If your unconverted mate brings bread in afterwards, that is on them. You have done your part.

And with each piece of leaven you remove, consider it one of your sins. Ask Yehovah to help reveal those secret sins you keep deep inside you. Ask Him to help you remove them as well.

Always remember that as you move closer to Yehovah, He moves closer to you. When you stop, so does He and He waits for you to make the next move.

The more you learn and practice, the more that will be revealed to you. But if you do nothing, you learn nothing.

So may your spring cleaning be bountiful in teaching you many lessons from the scriptures.

  2. I am fairly new to trying to keep the feasts. I have no one to share a Passover lamb with and truly wouldn’t know how to roast or slaughter it or get one to my house for that matter. How can I participate in the passover?

  3. Shalom dearest ones.
Just finished watching the sharing of Joseph in the Midian desert with his father-in-law Jethro. Amazing as the words of wisdom in this latter days is increasing. I. Deuteronomy 29:29 Father Elohim Adoni says the secret things belong to him, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law( instructions).. fascinating, as our Father Yehovah, reveals at such a time as this, His secrets more to His children. Praise Elohim Adoni for truth, praise Elohim Adoni for His mercy.
