Shabbat Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,
Yehshua said Elijah must come first and restore all things. You have all seen the calendar restored, using the barley and crescent moon to begin each month. This is credited to Nehemia Gordon, who researched it and began implementing it in the late 1980s and early 1990s. We owe Nehemia a huge debt of gratitude for this. I am thrilled to have been taught this by Him. You have also learned about the Sabbatical and Jubilee years here at Sightedmoon.com since 2005, and you have also learned how we are to take care of the widows and orphans in the third and sixth years of each Sabbatical cycle. These, along with the commandments of Exodus 20, are the backbone of the Kingdom of Yehovah. We all want to be in the Kingdom, but many don’t want to obey its laws. You are an ambassador to Yehovah’s Kingdom, no matter what country you live in. You do not represent Alaska or Zimbabwe, even though we may live there. No, we represent the Kingdom of Yehovah.
We are keen to learn about the calendar because through it we learn about when to keep the Holy Days. We are keen to learn about the Sabbatical and Jubilee years because they emphasize letting the land rest, forgiving debts, and freeing slaves. The sabbatical cycles also teach us when to do certain tithes. Tithing and donations are also part of the governance and duties of a citizen or ambassador of the Kingdom of Yehovah.
This is not something new Elijah is restoring; it is something you all should not need to be told to do, because you are already keeping the Torah. Or are you? Are you robbing Yehovah with your tithes and, in so doing, robbing yourselves? Do you support those who are teaching you? Or do you only support your own fiefdom? Those barons and lords who did not support the King soon learned how much it would cost them for doing so. Yes, this week we will discuss your finances. Oops, I said that wrong. We are going to talk about the money Yehovah has blessed you with and how much of His own money He wants you to give back to Him.
The festival dates have all been updated at https://sightedmoon.com/holy-days/. If the barley is Aviv by Wave Sheaf Day on March 8, 2026, then all these dates are very close, depending on when the moon will be seen. Once again, this confirms the Hebrewism Yehshua said, that no one would know the day or the hour. We are just not sure until we actually see the barley and sight the moon; then we will know for certain.
We also launched Sightedmoon Radio in December 2025, with Ryan Nall as our host and manager. https://live365.com/station/Sightedmoon-Radio-a64763 We are still in the process of building it out, but Ryan has permitted me to announce it to you all so that you can tune in and enjoy my selection of music and our ongoing teachings. You Can Learn the Secret Meaning of:
No One Knows the Day of the Hour
Why does no One Know When Jesus was born?
When Does the Thief in the Night Come?
Why Are the Foolish Virgins Rejected?
No One Knows The Day or The Hour is a Hebrew idiom or parable.
Jesus spoke in parables to conceal His message which He later explained to the Apostles.
No One Knows The Day or the Hour is telling you the very day He will come back on!
The exact opposite to what you thought it said!
This is the very same day when He first came.
The Book of Revelation Tells you the very day and hour He was born.
You are given clues in Revelation about the thief that comes in the night, about being caught naked and ashamed. All of these clues tell you about the very day He is coming back.
Paul wrote to the Thessalonians telling them they had no need to write them about the Day of the Lord
FOR THEY KNEW FULL WELL THE MOEDIM!!!
Knowing the Moedim shows you the Day and Hour No Man Can Know.
We are also told about the Two Witnesses in the Book of Revelation…
What revelations do the Two Witnesses show you about the birth of Jesus?
There was a heavenly Host praising God when Jesus was born.
This, too, tells you the Day He was born.
Are you aware that the 5 Foolish Virgins did not understand what the Thief in the Night was?
Do You?
All these questions and so much more are explained in detail.
It was a Riddle for us to figure out.
It was not a command that we could not know.
We can KNOW.
YOU Can Know!
Thoroughly researched and profoundly significant!
5.0 out of 5 stars
There just isn’t a better book on Christian prophecy than this! What an eye opener!
Of the many books and articles that I have read on prophecy in my personal search for truth, this is the only one that does not rely on old ideas that were developed hundreds of years ago when knowledge was minimal. So much more has been learned through historical and archeological research. The world has changed so much that before now no one could have clearly envisioned how prophecy might play out.
I think the average Christian doesn’t realize that recent developments in technology and huge increases in knowledge offer us a unique opportunity to raise the veil so that we might see clearly what was once hidden behind a dark glass.
After learning about these things and seriously considering the Bible, with a willingness to set aside my traditional beliefs about prophecy, I have come to the conclusion that this book is inspired by God. Mr. Dumond presents compelling information that overturns long held assumptions and unverified beliefs making the entire body of prophetic knowledge fully accessible. As a matter of fact I think that just about anyone with no previous knowledge of the Bible would understand things that scholars have devoted their lives to explaining.
I would like everyone to know what is being shown in the pages of this book. No serious truth seeker should pass up the opportunity to have their eyes opened through its revelations. I believe it is the most important book ever written,- next to the Bible itself.
Thank you Joseph Dumond.

The Stones Cry Out Part 1 & Part 2
The Stones Cry Out Part 1 & Part 2
Do you want to know how to prove the Zadok Calendar, the Enoch Calendar, and the Book of Jubilee Calendar false?
Do you want to know how the calendar issue became so confusing?
I got this awesome endorsement and I want to share it here now. with you.
In The Stones Cry Out, I walk you through the history of each change and why those changes came about, starting with the Maccabean days. Yes, it all began around 164 B.C. When Yehshua was here, he was dealing with two schools of thought. The Sadducees were all but wiped out when the Temple fell in 70 C.E. This left only the Pharisees, who began to be persecuted after the failure of the Bar Kochbah Revolt in 134 C.E.
The truth began to become out of focus around 160 C.E. when Rabbi Jose wrote the Seder Olam. This work originally was written to proof Simon Bar Kochbah was the Messiah. When that did not pan out the history was later revived and then redacted as the truth into the Mishneh Torah by Rabbi Judah ha Nasi in 180 C.E. After this the Jerusalem Talmud begins to debate these issues. It was then during this time as the Jerusalem Talmudist are forced to flee and the Babylonian Talmudist continue to grow until the 6th century that Hillel came up with a solution to help them keep the Holy Days at the proper time while they were out of the land of Israel. He did this in 358 C.E. This work was then modified and adjusted over the next 800 years with additions added and other rejected. Until it was finally redacted once again in 1177 by Rambam. And with that we now have the modern Hillel calendar which includes the errors passed on during each redaction. These errors included the time of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years.
Once the Temple was destroyed in 70 C.E., the Jews recorded time by counting from the time It was destroyed. This is why the 40 tombstones of Zoar, which record this information, are crucial to understand.
When you understand why the Postponement rules were first created so that the crescent moon would not be seen in another part of the world before it was seen in Israel then you can understand how they were still trying to follow the crescent moon to begin the month. The Tombstones show us this exact thing. The tombstones also show us when the Jews changed from a crescent moon to a Conjunction moon to begin the month. They also show us when the Jews changed the year from the month of Aviv to the Tishri to begin the year.
I really want you to understand these things so you know why you do what you do as far as following a calendar to keep Yehovah’s moedim.

I would like to add this recent comment to encourage you all to get this book and learn these truths. And the Book is FREE. You have no reason not to get it.
Most people assume that Hillel created the calendar in 358 C.E. They then assume that because it was a Sanhedrin, they are not allowed to change in order to obey Yehovah. The Hillel calendar has been changed many times since 358 C.E. up until 1177 C.E. Few people talk about these changes but we do in our latest Book The Stones Cry Out Part 1 which is free on our website. The Hillel calendar was changed on many occasions and many sought to make other changes during this time. They never needed a Bet Din to approve those changes. They just did them. So this excuse that we do not have the right to obey Yehovah because the Bet Din has not approved it is a crock of crap.
You have the obligation to obey Yehovah. You have the duty to prove which calendar you are to go by. You must prove it beyond all doubt. Yehshua never followed the Hillel calendar. Nor did any of the Apostles.
The reason no man can know the day or the hour is because it refers to a crescent moon to begin the 7th month. That is the day He was born on and the day He comes to judge on. At a day and hour no one can know. Using the Hillel calendar predicts Yom Teruah years in advance so every one knows when to keep it. But even in the Hillel calendar they keep two days of Yom Teruah reckoning back to the sighted moon. Also in the postponement rules developed long after Hillel, they again state that if the conjunction is at a certain time then the day begins at such and such, in order that the moon will not be seen in another part of the world before it is seen in Israel. That was rule number 2.
Everyone has to choose. You have the right to be wrong. But if you choose to be wrong then you also must live with the consequences that come with sin. And that is the death penalty for not keeping the Holy Days, these Sabbath at the proper time. It is your choice.
Just because you write in to me to justify your position does mean it is right. It just means your sounding off.
Allow me to share this endorsement of our latest book again. If you have read our books, please share your thoughts about them with us in the comments below or email me.
And yes, many observe the Equinox. There are many who are deceived, improperly educated. And this is why Joe puts out a newsletter every week, why he writes books, why the SightedMoon Zoom Shabbat service started, why he travels to places like England and the Philippines to share this message and why were are going to the NRB in February. The calendar is always a divisive issue in social circles because the details are many, that’s why there are so many books Joe has written. I’m not looking to put Joe on a pedestal here. This is not about Joe worship. But Joe has tenaciously studied out the calendar from every angle, not to prove himself right, to to seek to find and share what Yehovah is telling us about His Calendar.
In The Stones Cry Out, Joe has shared the history of all the different groups within Israel, and the beliefs they had about the scriptures and the feast days and the calendar. When you line it all up, you can see for yourself the how and why these misunderstandings and arguments about how and where and why they came about.
This is my new favourite book and I’m only 60-70 pages in. And I encourage you to read the footnotes in this one. Sometimes there’s more footnote on the page than Joe’s words.

When I wrote Stones Cry Out, I wanted it to be one of our FREE books so everyone would have it. It is more of an encyclopedia than a book to read. It will be your quick resource book; you will have access to every question about any calendar, how it got started, and who started it. You will also learn the history of how the Mishnah was assembled, when it was assembled and why. Then, you will learn how that information was transferred into both the Jerusalem and the Babylonian Talmud until it reached its final stage in the Mishneh Torah. Along with this progression, the calendar also progressed and changed long after 358 C.E. when Rabbi Hillel first published it. But…what was before the Hillel calendar? What does the Mishnah record about those things?
The Stones Cry Out was originally going to be one book explaining all the various proofs we have discovered, demonstrating when the Sabbatical and Jubilee years are throughout history.
You can know; it is not a mystery.
As I began to write The Stones Cry Out, I quickly found myself going back, time and time again, to explain how the calendar is behind the confusion of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. The Rabbis, as they began to write the Mishnah, incorporated wrong understandings, and those errors were written into what became known as the Talmud and then the Mishneh Torah. The expulsion from the land and subsequent persecutions in trying to send out messengers to report the barley being found or the crescent moon being seen, proved to be more and more dangerous over time. All of these things took place over 14 centuries.
Then as I was working on The Stones Cry Out, I discovered that many people were now accepting the Zadok calendar as factual. This is when we pivoted to include all the details of the various calendars that have crept back into public knowledge today and are being used to mislead new people who are just starting to learn about the calendar. All of this was directly connected to the period starting with the Hasmonaeans, up to the destruction of the Temple. Then, with the compiling of the Mishnah, the studies that led into the writing of the Jerusalem Talmud, then the Babylonian Talmud and finally the Mishneh Torah, each error that was added is compounded over time.
The Stones Cry Out, Part 1 explains the history of how each compilation of the Oral Torah incorporated errors, leading the followers thereof away from the actual Torah. In understanding these facts, it is then possible to understand more readily how the Sabbatical and Jubilee years were then mixed and later changed. By explaining all this history, I will be able to help you the reader understand the tombstones when most authorities do not. They have assumed, to their error, the Hillel calendar to have always been in use since Mount Sinai. Not understanding the history of the calendars is why most authorities dismiss the tombstones as too confusing to use. Once you understand The Stones Cry Out Part 1, Part 2 will be very easy to grasp.
Daniel 7:25 tells us he will change the appointed seasons and commandments. Many assume Constantine did this when he made Sunday the Sabbath. Few have considered the calendar’s many changes and how they relate to us today. Hidden in this proverbial swamp of confusion is the truth about the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. The Sabbatical and Jubilee years reveal the truths about the calendar that have been hidden for almost 2000 years.
We are in the very last days and Yehshua warned us that during this time:
Mat 24:10 And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another.
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets will rise and deceive many.
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will become cold.
Mat 24:13 But he who endures to the end, the same shall be kept safe.
Paul also warned Timothy about these last days, warning that some would leave the truth and begin to follow demonic teachers:
1Ti 4:1 But the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,
Paul again warned the Thessalonians that the Great Falling away would take place in the last days. How can you fall away if you have never come to know the truth? So who is Paul talking to? Those who are called and answer that calling begin to walk this road of restoration back to Yehovah, and then at some point along that walk, they change and leave this walk following the teachings of demons to false calendar.
2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, my brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,
2Th 2:2 that you should not be soon shaken in mind or troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word or letter, as through us, as if the Day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition,
2Th 2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.
We must endure until the end. We must not let ourselves become offended by personalities and leave the faith once given.

Torah Portion
Torah Portions
We read through the entire Torah along with the Prophets and the New Testament, once over the course of 3 1/2 years. Or according to the Sabbatical Cycle which means we read it all twice over a 7-year period. This allows us to cover more in-depth rather than being rushed to cover as much as is covered on an annual basis. We allow all to comment and take part in the discussions.
Septennial Torah Portion
If you go to Torah Portion in our archived section, you can then go to the 1st year, which is the 1st year of the Sabbatical Cycle, the one we are in now, as we state at the top of every Newsletter. There, you can scroll down to the proper date and see that this Shabbat, we could very well be midrashing about:
Leviticus 15
Jeremiah 52
Proverb 27-28
Acts 24
We are in the 1st Sabbatical Cycle in 2024-2025. We go through the entire bible twice in a 7 year cycle. This means we cover the entire bible once every 3 1/2 years. It gives us more time to debate and discuss each portion we read.
If you missed last week’s exciting discoveries as we studied that section, you can go and watch past Shabbats on our media section.

Join Our Sabbath Meetings
There are many people in need of fellowship and who are sitting at home on the Sabbath with no one to talk to or debate with. I want to encourage all of you to join us on Shabbat, and to invite others to come and join us as well. If the time is not convenient then you can listen to the teaching and the midrash after on our YouTube channel.
What are we doing and why do we teach this way?
We are going to discuss both sides of an issue and then let you choose. It is the work of the Ruach (Spirit) to direct and to teach you.
The medieval commentator Rashi wrote that the Hebrew word for wrestle (avek) implies that Jacob was “tied”, for the same word is used to describe knotted fringes in a Jewish prayer shawl, the tzitzityot. Rashi says, “thus is the manner of two people who struggle to overthrow each other, that one embraces the other and knots him with his arms”.
Our intellectual wrestling has been replaced by a different kind of struggle. We are wrestling with Yehovah as we grapple with His Word. It is an intimate act, symbolizing a relationship in which Yehovah and you and I are bound together. My wrestling is a struggle to discover what Yehovah expects of us, and we are “tied” to the One who assists us in that struggle.
Today, many say Israel means “Champion of God”, or better — the “Wrestler of God”.
Our Torah sessions each Shabbat teaches you and encourages you to constantly challenge, question, argue against, as well as view alternative views and explanations of the Word. In other words, we are to “wrestle with the Word” to get to the truth. Jews worldwide believe that you need to wrestle with the Word and constantly challenge Dogma, Theology, and views or else you will never get to the Truth.
We are not like most churches where “The preacher talks and everyone listens.” We encourage everyone to participate, to question and to contribute what they know on the subject being discussed. We want you to be a champion wrestler of the Word of Yehovah. We want you to wear the title of Israel, knowing that you not only know but are capable of explaining why you know the Torah to be true with logic and facts.
We have a few rules though. Let others talk and listen. There is no discussion about UFO’s, Nephilim, Vaccines or conspiracy-type subjects. We have people from around the world with different world views. Not everyone cares who is the President of any particular country. Treat each other with respect as fellow wrestlers of the word. Some of our subjects are hard to understand and require you to be mature and if you do not know, then listen to gain knowledge and understanding and hopefully wisdom. The very things you are commanded to ask Yehovah for and He gives to those who ask.
Jas 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.
We hope you can invite those who want to keep Torah to come and join us by hitting the link below. It is almost like a Torah teaching fellowship talk show with people from around the world taking part and sharing their insights and understandings.
We start off with some music and then some prayers and it’s as though you were sitting around the kitchen back in Newfoundland having a cup of coffee and all of us enjoying each other’s company. I hope you will grace us with your company someday.
Sabbath services begin at 12:30 PM EDT where we will be doing prayers, songs and teaching from this hour.
Shabbat midrash will begin at about 1:15 pm Eastern.
We look forward to you joining our family and getting to know us as we get to know you.

Are you Keeping the Third Tithe Year?
Are you Keeping the Third Tithe Year?
We are now about to begin the 3rd year of this current 5th Sabbatical Cycle. We are in the 120th Jubilee Cycle since the creation of Adam. In 2045 we will begin the 7th Millennium of rest.
I want to remind you all once again not to forget about the widows and the orphans this coming year.
You are commanded to collect a tithe for the widows, the orphans, and the Levites in the 3rd and the 6th year of the Sabbatical Cycle. 2026, starting at Aviv 1, begins the 3rd year of this 5th Sabbatical cycle.

Deu 14:28 At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up inside your gates. And the Levite, because he has no part nor inheritance with you, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are inside your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
I must address those who will not tithe and who offer all sorts of excuses for not doing so.
It is almost a guarantee that some clever person who does not want to obey Yehovah will write to me and say this is only speaking of the produce of the land. You are only to tithe of the produce that you grow. Since I am not a farmer, I do not have to tithe.
So what they are saying is that only the farmers have to tithe, is that right?
Not one of these people has ever sent me ten bales of hay for every hundred they bailed. Nor have I ever received five bushels of tomatoes for the fifty they harvested. In fact, they never send me a tithe of their produce. They just send me their excuses for why they will not obey.
Let me say here right now, I have never considered myself or this ministry to be a Levitical priesthood. I have never considered it worthy of tithing to. Only the Levite is to be given the tithes, and they are given that tithe in order for them to maintain the Temple. We have no Temple today and no priesthood, so you should not be tithing. (Is this really how we are to be thinking?) But at sightedmoon.com, we have expenses and goals and other ministries we are supporting in the Philippines and Africa, and maybe soon other places. We accept your donations to help with the work we are doing here.
In 2025, we spent approximately $150,000 in our efforts to reach out to others. This includes things like our presentation at the NRB, multiple advertising campaigns throughout the year, the barley search in Israel, and the many things we do here at sightedmoon.com to provide a place to teach you with the website and maintenance, newsletter, and all the software needed for that.
In 2026, we are again going to search for the barley in Israel, present at the NRB, and launch a massive ad campaign. We have already paid over $50,000 towards these projects, which are being done in January through March. And we have now launched our Sightedmoon.com radio show, which airs 24/7, and we must pay royalties and licensing fees each month for the music we use.
So, although we have no temple, Sightedmoon.com is working our tails off to reach the world in every way we can, with the limited resources we have, before time runs out during these final 10 years of judgment. If you are not tithing, you are only hurting yourself.
I also remember one year I brought my First Fruits offering to a local synagogue and presented it in front of the congregation. It was rhubarb and asparagus. This was the only First Fruits I had at that time when Pentecost arrived that year. Everyone watching wondered what was going on, and the Rabbi did not know what to think. But I presented my First Fruits offering as I was commanded.

H8393 (Strong) תְּבוּאָה tebû’âh teb-oo-aw’
From H935; income, that is, produce (literally or figuratively): – fruit, gain, increase, revenue.
Total KJV occurrences: 42
As you can see from the scriptures below, the same word Tebuah can and does also mean revenue.
Proverbs 15:6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure; But in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
Proverbs 16:8 Better is a little, with righteousness, Than great revenues with injustice.
Jer 12:13 (Darby) They have sown wheat, and they reap thorns; they have put themselves to pain, and do not profit. Be ye therefore ashamed of your revenues, because of the fierce anger of Jehovah.
Proverb 8:19
(ASV) My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; And my revenue than choice silver.
(BBE) My fruit is better than gold, even than the best gold; and my increase is more to be desired than silver.
(Brenton) It is better to have my fruit than to have gold and precious stones; and my produce is better than choice silver.
(CEV) What you receive from me is more valuable than even the finest gold or the purest silver.
(Darby) My fruit is better than fine gold, yea, than pure gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
(DRB) For my fruit is better than gold and the precious stone, and my blossoms than choice silver.
(ERV) What I give is better than fine gold. What I produce is better than pure silver.
(ESV) My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver.
(ESV+) My fruit is ?R16?better than ?R17?gold, even fine gold, and my yield than ?R18?choice silver.
(GNB) What you get from me is better than the finest gold, better than the purest silver.
(Greek NT INT+)
(GW) What I produce is better than gold, pure gold. What I yield is better than fine silver.
On my E-sword program, I am now able to pull up the Ancient Paleo Hebrew for this word Tebuah which is as follows.
H8393 (Ancient Hebrew)

I want you to notice that in the Beit which is the house. It is the Aleph of Yehovah that fills that empty space. You are also commanded in Deut 14 to “and shall lay it up inside your gates.”
Notice the word for laying it up.
1307) Hn% (Hn% NHh) ac: Guide co: Rest ab: ?: The pictograph nun n is a picture of a seed representing continuance; the cheth H is a picture of a wall that separates the inside from the outside. Combined, these mean “continue outside.” The shepherd would guide his flock to a place of water. Here is water for drinking as well as green grass for pasturing. Once the flock arrives, they are free to rest after the long journey. A guided journey to a place of rest. A sigh of rest. (eng: night—from the German nocht, as the time of rest)
Thus far, you are being told to fill up the void of her loss, to fill up the space at the entrance and give the widow rest, give her ease.
With this understanding, we should easily be able to understand that it is Yehovah who fills our empty space with His presence and His increase.

We are addressing those who claim that “fruits” only refers to crops and not to income. If you made $50,000 last year in wages, then a tithe of that would be $5,000 that would not be deducted as a taxable write-off. There are no receipts when you give to the widows or the orphans or the stranger or the poor or the Levite. There is just the simple satisfaction of keeping the Torah of Yehovah, and in doing your little bit, you have helped the overall functioning of the Kingdom.
“The overall function of the Kingdom”—how is my little part a blessing for the Kingdom? Read what you are told in Deut 26 when you do this one commandment. It says not that you will be blessed for doing your tithe, but that the Kingdom will also be blessed, and the Nation of Israel as a whole will be blessed.
“Look down from Your holy dwelling, from Heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land which You have given us, as You swore to our fathers, a land that flows with milk and honey. ”
Deu 26:11 And you shall rejoice in all the good which Jehovah your God has given to you, and to your house; you, and the Levite, and the stranger in your midst. When you have made an end of tithing all the tithes of your increase the third year, the year of tithing, and have given it to the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow (that they may eat inside your gates and be filled), then you shall say before Jehovah your God, I have brought away the holy things out of my house, and also have given them to the Levite, and to the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all Your commandments which You have commanded me. I have not broken Your commandments, neither have I forgotten. I have not eaten of it in my mourning, neither have I put any of it away for unclean use, nor have I given of it for the dead. I have listened to the voice of Jehovah my God, and have done according to all that You have commanded me. Look down from Your holy dwelling, from Heaven, and bless Your people Israel and the land which You have given us, as You swore to our fathers, a land that flows with milk and honey. Today Jehovah your God has commanded you to do these statutes and judgments. You therefore shall keep and do them with all your heart and with all your soul. You have today said that Jehovah is your God, and that you would walk in His ways, and keep His statutes and His commandments and His judgments, and listen to His voice. And Jehovah has taken you today to be His peculiar people, as He has promised you, and to keep all His commandments, and to make you high above all nations which He has made, in praise and in name and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to Jehovah your God, even as He has spoken.
When we as a people, as Yehovah’s chosen people, obey this one command and take care of the widow in the 3rd and 6th years, then He promises to bless us, His people, and the land He has given us. It is good for us to do these things so that we can be blessed.
Here is a very severe warning from Yehovah to each of us.
Exo 22:21 You shall neither vex a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry. And My wrath shall become hot, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your sons fatherless.
If the widows are hurting and not taken care of, then we as a people will suffer. The men will be killed, and then our wives will get to learn what it is like not to have a husband. Our children will learn what it is like not to have a father.
And all of you know just how close we are to the wrath of Yehovah being poured out. Do you really want to roll the dice and take this chance now with just a few years left to go?
The widows, the orphans, and the Levites were not taken care of only in the 3rd and 6th years of the Sabbatical Cycles. Yehovah commanded Israel to take care of them year-round.
Deu 24:17 You shall not pervert the rightful judgment of the stranger nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow’s clothing to pledge.
Deu 24:18 But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and Jehovah your God redeemed you from there. Therefore I command you to do this thing.
Deu 24:19 When you cut down your harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go again to bring it. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow; so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand.
Deu 24:20 When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
Deu 24:21 When you gather the grapes from your vineyard, you shall not glean afterward. It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
Deu 24:22 And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt. Therefore I command you to do this thing.
We can see Boaz doing this very thing.
Rth 2:1 And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech. And his name was Boaz.
Rth 2:2 And Ruth of Moab said to Naomi, Let me now go to the field and glean ears of grain after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said to her, Go, my daughter.
Rth 2:3 And she went. And she came and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come upon a part of the field of Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
Rth 2:4 And behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem and said to the reapers, Jehovah be with you. And they answered him, Jehovah bless you.
Rth 2:5 And Boaz said to his servant who was set over the reapers, Whose girl is this?
Rth 2:6 And the servant who was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the girl from Moab who came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab.
Rth 2:7 And she said, Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves. And she came, and has kept on from the morning until now, but that she stayed a little in the house.
Rth 2:8 And Boaz said to Ruth, Do you not hear, my daughter? Do not go to glean in another field, neither go away from here, but stay here close by my maidens.
Rth 2:9 Let your eyes be on the field that they reap, and go after them. Have I not commanded the young men that they shall not touch you? And when you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
Rth 2:10 Then she fell on her face and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, Why have I found grace in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?
Rth 2:11 And Boaz answered and said to her, It has been fully shown to me all that you have done to your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, And you left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before now.
Rth 2:12 May Jehovah repay your work, and may a full reward be given you from Jehovah, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to trust.
Rth 2:13 Then she said, Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, for you have comforted me; for you have spoken kindly to your handmaid, though I am not like one of your handmaidens.
Rth 2:14 And Boaz said to her, At mealtime come here and eat of the bread and dip your bit in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers. And he handed her roasted grain, and she ate and was satisfied, and left.
Rth 2:15 And when she had risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not rebuke her.
Rth 2:16 And also let fall of the handfuls on purpose for her, and leave them so that she may glean them, and do not rebuke her.
Rth 2:17 And she gleaned in the field until the evening, and beat out what she had gleaned. And it was about an ephah of barley.
Rth 2:18 And she took it up and went into the city. And her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned. And she brought it forth, and gave to her what she had kept after she was satisfied.
Rth 2:19 And her mother-in-law said to her, Where have you gleaned today? And where did you work? Blessed is he who took notice of you. And she told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked, and said, The man’s name with whom I worked today is Boaz.
Rth 2:20 And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, Blessed is he of Jehovah, who has not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said to her, The man is near of kin to us, he is of our redeemers.
Rth 2:21 And Ruth of Moab said, He said to me also, You shall keep close by my young men whom I have until they have ended all my harvest.
Rth 2:22 And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law Ruth, Good, my daughter. You go out with his maidens so that they do not fall upon you in any other field.
Rth 2:23 And she kept close by the maidens of Boaz to glean until the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
In the other years that are not 3rd tithe years, can we not all show mercy to the widows in our flock? Why don’t we look out for them as Boaz did and bless them from our abundance?
This brings me to a question for each of you to figure out. In Leviticus 23, we are told which of the Holy Days to observe, when to observe them, and the other events surrounding those moedim. We have explained to you many times and written about it in our book The Mystery of the Jewish Rapture 2033, the spiritual meaning of each of the Holy Days. The rapture of the Saints on Wave Sheaf day and the coming rapture again of the Saints at Shavuot, and the third resurrection at Sukkot at the end of the 7th millennium.
Here is my question. What is the spiritual meaning of this command in Leviticus 23 that goes with the Shavuot Holy Day? I look forward to your comments this week as you answer this question.
Lev 23:22 And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not completely reap the corner of your field. When you reap the gleaning of your harvest, you shall not gather. You shall leave them to the poor and to the stranger. I am Jehovah your God.
Let me say this. Those who do this command should understand it. Those who do not do this may very well be standing there scratching their heads. What is the spiritual meaning of this command that was done each year and not just in the 3rd tithe years?
Rom 2:13 For it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.
Answering the Question!
Answering the Question!

Lev 23:22 And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not completely reap the corner of your field. When you reap the gleaning of your harvest, you shall not gather. You shall leave them to the poor and to the stranger. I am Jehovah your God.
Every harvest (not just sabbatical or tithe years), Israelites were to:
- Leave the corners (pe’ah) of fields unreaped.
- Not pick up dropped sheaves (leket) or go back for forgotten bundles (shikchah).
- Allow the poor and strangers (gerim—resident aliens) to gather freely.
This provided ongoing provision for the vulnerable, teaching humility, generosity, and trust in Yehovah’s abundance.
Spiritual Meaning Tied to Shavuot
Shavuot celebrates the giving of Torah (law) and the firstfruits of the harvest. The command in verse 22 reveals profound spiritual truths about how Yehovah’s Kingdom operates:
- Humility Before Yehovah
The farmer must restrain his hand—not harvesting everything he “earned” by labor. This mirrors Shavuot’s theme: We receive Torah not by our merit but by grace. We “leave corners” because all belongs to Yehovah (Psalm 24:1 MKJV: “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein”). Pride says, “It’s all mine”; humility leaves room for His provision.- Provision for the “Poor and Stranger” – Grafting in the Gentiles
The “poor” and “stranger” symbolize those outside the covenant—spiritually poor or foreigners to Israel. At Shavuot (Pentecost), the Holy Spirit fell on Jewish believers first, but the harvest was for all nations (Acts 2:5-11 MKJV lists Parthians, Medes, Elamites, etc.—”strangers” hearing in their tongues). Romans 11:17-18 (MKJV) describes Gentiles as “wild olive” grafted into Israel’s tree, partaking of the root (Torah) while natural branches (unbelieving Jews and Northern Ten Tribes) are broken off temporarily. Leaving the gleanings pictures Yehovah’s plan: The “corners” of Israel’s harvest are left for Gentiles to gather freely through faith.- Firstfruits and the Greater Harvest
Shavuot’s two wave loaves (Leviticus 23:17) contain leaven—imperfect, picturing redeemed humanity. The corners/gleanings show the harvest is not complete without including the poor/stranger. Ruth (a Moabite “stranger”) gleaned in Boaz’s field (Ruth 2)—a type of Gentiles entering the lineage of the Messiah. Boaz (redeemer) left extra for her, foreshadowing Yehshua leaving “gleanings” of salvation for outsiders. Here is a very clear example of what has just been said here:Rev 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth so that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
Rev 7:2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Rev 7:3 saying, Do not hurt the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousands, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel.
Rev 7:9 After these things I looked, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues, stood before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palms in their hands.
Rev 7:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb.
Rev 7:11 And all the angels stood around the throne, and the elders, and the four living creatures, and they fell before the throne on their faces and worshiped God,
Rev 7:12 saying, Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever. Amen.
Rev 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying to me, Who are these who are arrayed in white robes, and from where do they come?
Rev 7:14 And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are the ones who came out of the great tribulation and have washed their robes, and have whitened them in the blood of the Lamb.
Rev 7:15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple. And He sitting on the throne will dwell among them.
Rev 7:16 They will not hunger any more, nor thirst any more, nor will the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them and will lead them to the fountains of living waters. And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.
- Doing vs. Hearing – Fruit That Remains
As Romans 2:13 (MKJV) states: “For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” Those who practice this command understand its depth—generosity reflects Yehovah’s heart. Mere hearers (who study but don’t live it) miss the revelation. The corners teach that true Shavuot obedience produces fruit for others, not hoarding for self.
Gem for Today
This command, embedded in Shavuot, reveals Yehovah’s inclusive Kingdom: Torah is given so all—Jew and stranger—may eat from His harvest. In Messiah, we are no longer strangers
Eph 2:19 Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,
Eph 2:20 and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being thechief cornerstone,
Eph 2:21 in whom every building having been fitly framed together, grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord;
Eph 2:22 in whom you also are built together for a dwelling place of God through the Spirit.
Practicing generosity (tzedakah) today—leaving “corners” in time, resources, and kindness—prepares us to be vessels for the greater end-time harvest. Those who hoard miss the blessing; those who leave gleanings walk in the Spirit of Shavuot. As James urges:
Jas 1:23 For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man studying his natural face in a mirror.
Jas 1:24 For he studied himself and went his way, and immediately he forgot what he was like.
Jas 1:25 But whoever looks into the perfect Law of liberty and continues in it, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. This one shall be blessed in his doing.
The corners remind us: True worship shares the harvest. The Torah is not just for DNA descendants of Israel. We who have this gift and are studying it are to share it with the strangers and all those who are not of the DNA of Israel. In other words, the world.
“Why is the law of peah/gleanings inserted amid the festivals—Passover/Shavuot on one side, Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kippur/Sukkot on the other? To teach that one who properly gives leket, shikchah, peah, and poor tithe is regarded as if the Temple stood and he offered sacrifices therein” (Sifra Emor 13:12, per Rashi). Charity equals Temple service—Shavuot’s firstfruits require sharing harvest with vulnerable.
Quoting Sifra: “Scripture repeats it to make transgression of two negatives… R. Avdimi b. R. Yossi said: Why place it amid festivals? To teach whoever gives gleanings/corners/poor tithe properly is deemed to have built the Temple and offered sacrifices” (Rashi on Leviticus 23:22). Placement reminds that Shavuot gratitude demands active generosity.
Notes: Repetition teaches restraint even in abundance—Shavuot’s wheat-harvest joy must include the poor/stranger, reflecting Yehovah’s provision (Ramban on Leviticus 23:22). Ties to humility: the farmer leaves “corners,” acknowledging that all belongs to God.
Practical: Repeats because Shavuot is the main wheat harvest—ensure poor benefit at peak giving time (Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 23:22).
Shavuot (Atzeret) links to charity—giving to poor equals sacrifices, as Temple stood for atonement/redemption.
Where Your Treasure Is
Where Your Treasure Is
Whenever you go to the bank for a loan for a car or a mortgage they want to know everything about you. Where your income is coming from and where you spend it and how much of it you save. They want all the details about your finances before they decide what rate to give you if they give you the loan at all.
Mat 6:19 Do not lay up treasures on earth for yourselves, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.
Mat 6:20 But lay up treasures in Heaven for yourselves, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
If you were to do an inventory of your own finances, what will you discover? If you do it seriously you might just discover where your heart is. You will discover what is important to you. Does most of your money go towards your house payment, or car payment or towards your food payment. Where do you spend all your money each month?
This week we are going to look at a subject I have avoided for almost my entire time here at sightedmoon.com. I have done so because I have always felt that when others did this subject it was a money grab or they laid on the guilt complex on me or you in order to get us to give to them. I never wanted to do that.
I have also never felt worthy of or justified to receive tithes. So we always encouraged donations instead of tithes.
It has also always bothered me that those who say the old testament laws are all done away, will readily revive the law of tithing as justifiable to do for their church which has taken over since the apostles who took over for the Levitical Priests.
Have I been doing you a disservice in this? Am I wrong for avoiding this subject as I have?
I am working on the history of the Sabbath in North America. I have been looking at this in an effort to show those things that have been restored. Yehshua said Elijah would be here before He came and that Elijah would restore all things. It has been through the Sabbatical Groups that this restoration has been taking place. And it was only after those Sabbath groups in our history taught about tithing that the work they were doing flourished. Yes, you can see where I am going, but there is more to it than just what you are thinking.
You have just read about Boaz and his role in caring for the poor and widows. You have also just read about Yehovah’s heart towards the widows and He is their protector. By studying the tithing laws, I am hoping you will see the heart of Yehovah towards you and His nation.
I have said before that when I tithed in the Worldwide Church of God, I had many blessings happening to me. Even though I was in a high tax rate and paying tithes, I still paid off my first house in 5 years’ time and I also paid off my car payments. I was paying about 37% in taxes and getting most of it back at tax time. On top of this, I was paying some years 30% in tithes. Although it was sometimes tight, I have never lacked and looking back I have had a blessed life.
Let us look at this subject to learn about the heart of Yehovah and then decide what you want to do. It is not the amount you give nor is it just about the money. It is much, much more than that. It is about your relationship with Yehovah.
We have already shown you that tithing is giving 10% of your increase of what Yehovah has already blessed you with.
Let’s get this next section out of the way. Most Christians are going to tell you about how Abraham tithed. In fact, even the book of Hebrews tells you as much. But let’s just read this and see who gave what to whom.
Gen 14:17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and of the kings with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s valley.
Gen 14:18 And Melchizedek the king of Salem brought forth bread and wine. And he was the priest of the most high God.
Gen 14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of Heaven and earth.
Gen 14:20 And blessed be the most high God, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
The main subject of the verses 17-20 have been about Melchizedek.
Melchizedek went out to meet Abraham.
Melchizedek brought bread and wine.
Melchizedek was the Priest of the Most High.
Melchizedek blessed Abraham. The entire section has been about Melchizedek and all that he did on this day. Then in verse 20, the “he” that is being spoken of is not Abraham, but it is Melchizedek who gave Abraham a tithe of all that Abraham had brought back, which was stolen from Jerusalem.
Gen 14:21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the people and take the goods for yourself.
The King of Sodom seeks to outdo Melchizedek by offering Abraham all the loot that Abraham had already captured. The King of Sodom was trying to show he was more righteous than Melchizedek.
Gen 14:22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand to Jehovah, the most high God, the possessor of Heaven and earth,
Gen 14:23 that I will take from all that is yours, not from a thread even to a shoestring, lest you say, I have made Abram rich.
Gen 14:24 Nothing for me, only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
Abraham was taught by Noah and knew Shem, who is Melchizedek. Abraham had spent considerable time with them. Abraham knew the righteousness in them. After all, it is Abraham who records these events, and Abraham calls Shem Melchizedek, the Priest of the Most High.
If Abraham is giving Melchizedek 10% why did he not give the King of Sodom 10%? So now you know who gave whom what. Many modern pastors then make Melchizedek to be Yehshua and thereby it is justified to tithe to Christ as an act of worship. However, that is not what is occurring here. Go back and read the scriptures yourself and decide.
That is the first truth about tithing that I wanted to put in front of you. The TRUTH.
The next set of scriptures used to justify tithing is Genesis 28. Again, let’s read it all in context.
Gen 28:10 And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.
Gen 28:11 And he came on a certain place, and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took of the stones of that place, and placed them at his head. And he lay down in that place to sleep.
Gen 28:12 And he dreamed. And behold! A ladder was set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to Heaven! And behold! The angels of God wereascending and descending on it!
Gen 28:13 And behold! Jehovah stood above it, and said, I am Jehovah, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac! The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your seed.
Pay attention here. What is being spoken of? The Land and Jacobs Seed. Yehovah tells Jacob that his seed will be like the dust of the earth. The seed of Jacob is what Yehovah is promising to increase.
Gen 28:14 And your seed shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. And in you and in your Seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Gen 28:15 And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in every place where you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.
Gen 28:16 And Jacob awakened from his sleep. And he said, Surely Jehovah is in this place, and I did not know.
Gen 28:17 And he was afraid, and said, How fearful is this place! This is nothing but the house of God, and this is the gate of Heaven!
Gen 28:18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone which he had put at his head, and set it as a memorial pillar, and poured oil on the top of it.
This tradition of pouring oil on the pillar stone is found throughout the scriptures and history, including to the present day.
Gen 28:19 And he called the name of that place The House of God. But the name of that city was Luz at first.
Gen 28:20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,
Gen 28:21 and I come again to my father’s house in peace, then shall Jehovah be my God.
Gen 28:22 And this stone which I have set for a pillar shall be God’s house. And of all that You shall give me, I will surely give the tenth to You.
Again, what was Yehovah giving to Jacob? Did Yehovah say anywhere that he would give him silver or gold? No! Yehovah spoke to Jacob about giving him the land and seed that would be like the dust of the earth. It is this seed, the subject of this section of the bible that Jacob says he will give a tenth of.
Now that we have removed two false teachings used to encourage tithing, let us examine the truth and the scriptures on tithing.
Lev 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Jehovah’s. It is holy to Jehovah.
Lev 27:31 And if a man will at all redeem anything of his tithes, he shall add to it the fifth part of it.
Lev 27:32 And all the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, all that passes under the rod, a tenth shall be holy to Jehovah
Lev 27:33 He shall not search whether it is good or bad, neither shall he change it. And if he changes it at all, then both it and the change of it shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed.
Lev 27:34 These are the commandments which Jehovah commanded Moses for the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai.
Now, verse 30 is directly related to Jacob in Genesis 28:18, where he set up the pillar stone as a memorial, stating that he would give 10% of all that came from the land and from his seed.
We observe this tithe among the sons of Israel beginning in Exodus. The firstborn sons of Israel were to serve Yehovah. They were to be the priests of the nation until the golden calf incident.
Exo 32:25 And when Moses saw that the people were naked, (for Aaron had made them naked to their shame among their enemies,)
Exo 32:26 then Moses stood in the gate of the camp and said, Who is on Jehovah’s side? Come to me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves to him.
Exo 32:27 And he said to them, Thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel: Each man put his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and kill each one his brother, and each one his neighbor, and each one his kindred.
Exo 32:28 And the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. And there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
Exo 32:29 For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves today to Jehovah, since each one has been against his son, and against his brother, and in order to give you a blessing today.
Exo 32:30 And it happened on the next day, Moses said to the people, You have sinned a great sin. And now I will go up to Jehovah. Perhaps I shall make an atonement for your sin.
Exo 32:31 And Moses returned to Jehovah, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.
Exo 32:32 And now will You forgive their sin! And if not, I pray You, blot me out of Your book which You have written.
Exo 32:33 And Jehovah said to Moses, Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.
Exo 32:34 And now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, My Angel shall go before you. And in the day of My visitation I will visit their sin upon them.
Exo 32:35 And Jehovah plagued the people because they made the calf, which Aaron made.
The taking of the Levites as the Priests instead of the firstborn is explained in Numbers.
Num 8:5 And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,
Num 8:6 Take the Levites from among the sons of Israel, and purify them.
Num 8:7 And in this way shall you do to them to purify them. Sprinkle water of sin-offering on them, and let them shave all their flesh and wash their clothes, and make themselves clean.
Num 8:8 Then let them take a young bull with its food offering, fine flour mixed with oil, and another young bull shall you take for a sin offering.
Num 8:9 And you shall bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation. And you shall gather the whole assembly of the sons of Israel together.
Num 8:10 And you shall bring the Levites before Jehovah. And the sons of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites.
Num 8:11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before Jehovah for an offering of the sons of Israel, so that they may do the service of Jehovah.
Num 8:12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bulls. And you shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, to Jehovah, to make an atonement for the Levites.
Num 8:13 And you shall set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering to Jehovah.
Num 8:14 So you shall separate the Levites from among the sons of Israel. And the Levites shall be Mine.
Num 8:15 And after that the Levites shall go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. And you shall purify them and offer them for a wave offering.
Num 8:16 For they are wholly given to Me from among the sons of Israel, instead of those that open every womb. The first-born of all the sons of Israel, I have taken them to Me.
Num 8:17 For all the first-born of the sons of Israel are Mine, both man and animal. On the day that I struck every first-born in the land of Egypt I set them apart for Myself.
Num 8:18 And I have taken the Levites for all the first-born of the sons of Israel.
Num 8:19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the sons of Israel, to do the service of the sons of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the sons of Israel, so that there may be no plague among the sons of Israel when the sons of Israel come near the sanctuary.
Num 8:20 And Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the sons of Israel did to the Levites according to all that Jehovah commanded Moses concerning the Levites. So the sons of Israel did to them.
Num 8:21 And the Levites purified themselves, and they washed their clothes. And Aaron offered them, an offering before Jehovah. And Aaron made an atonement for them to purify them.
Num 8:22 And after that the Levites went in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron and before his sons. Even as Jehovah had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
Retirement of the Levites
Num 8:23 And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,
Num 8:24 This is that which pertains to the Levites. From twenty-five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Num 8:25 And from the age of fifty years they shall stop waiting upon the service, and shall serve no more.
Num 8:26 But they shall minister with their brothers in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge; only he shall not serve at a service. So you shall do to the Levites as to their duties.
These Levites are now the 10% Jacob promised on that pillar stone.
Yehovah also tells us in Numbers that all the Levites are to serve Aaron and the Tabernacle on behalf of the people and that the people were to give the Levites the firstborn that opened the womb and a tithe of all that they received from the land.
Num 18:1 And Jehovah said to Aaron, You and your sons, and your father’s house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary. And you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
Num 18:2 And bring your brothers also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father with you, so that they may be joined to you and minister to you, you and your sons with you, before the tabernacle of witness.
Num 18:3 And they shall keep your charge and the charge of all the tabernacle. Only they shall not come near the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, so that neither they nor you also may die.
Num 18:4 And they shall be joined to you, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle. And a stranger shall not come near you.
Num 18:5 And you shall keep the charge of the sanctuary and the charge of the altar, so that there may be no wrath any more upon the sons of Israel.
Num 18:6 And I, behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from among the sons of Israel. They are given to you as a gift by Jehovah, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Num 18:7 Therefore you and your sons with you shall keep your priests’ office for everything of the altar and inside the veil. And you shall serve. I have given your priest’s office as a service of gift. And the stranger that comes near shall be put to death.
Num 18:8 And Jehovah spoke to Aaron, Behold, I have also given you the charge of My heave offerings of all the holy things of the sons of Israel. I have given them to you for the anointing, and to your sons, by an ordinance forever.
Num 18:9 This shall be yours of the most holy things, reserved from the fire, every sacrifice of theirs, every food offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which they shall give Me. These are most holy for you and for your sons.
Num 18:10 You shall eat it in the Holy of Holies. Every male shall eat it. It shall be holy to you.
Num 18:11 And this is yours, the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the sons of Israel. I have given them to you and to your sons and to your daughters with you, by a statute forever. Everyone that is clean in your house shall eat it.
Num 18:12 All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the first-fruits of them which they shall offer to Jehovah, I have given them to you.
Num 18:13 The first fruits of all that is in the land, which they shall bring to Jehovah, shall be yours. Everyone that is clean in your house shall eat of it.
Num 18:14 Everything devoted in Israel shall be yours.
Num 18:15 Everything that opens the womb in all flesh, which they bring to Jehovah, of men or animals, shall be yours. Nevertheless, the first-born of man you shall surely redeem, and the first-born of unclean animals you shall redeem.
Num 18:16 And those that are to be redeemed from a month old you shall redeem, according to your judgment for the silver of five shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.
Num 18:17 But the first-born of a cow, or the first-born of a sheep, or the first-born of a goat, you shall not redeem. They are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shall burn their fat, an offering made by fire, for a sweet savor to Jehovah.
Num 18:18 And their flesh shall be yours, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are yours.
Num 18:19 All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the sons of Israel offer to Jehovah, I have given you and your sons and your daughters with you, by a law forever. It is a covenant of salt forever before Jehovah to you and to your seed with you.
Num 18:20 And Jehovah said to Aaron, You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any part among them. I am your part and your inheritance among the sons of Israel.
Num 18:21 And behold, I have given the sons of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Num 18:22 Neither must the sons of Israel come near the tabernacle of the congregation from now on, lest they bear sin and die.
Num 18:23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity, a statute forever throughout your generations, that among the sons of Israel they have no inheritance.
Num 18:24 But the tithes of the sons of Israel, which they offer as a heave offering to Jehovah, I have given to the Levites to inherit. Therefore I have said to them, Among the sons of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
Num 18:25 And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,
Num 18:26 And you shall speak to the Levites, and you shall say to them, When you take tithes from the sons of Israel, which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up a heave offering of it for Jehovah, a tenth of the tithe.
Num 18:27 And your heave offering shall be credited to you as grain of the threshing-floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.
Num 18:28 So you also shall offer a heave offering to Jehovah of all your tithes which you receive from the sons of Israel. And you shall give from it Jehovah’s heave offering to Aaron the priest.
Num 18:29 Out of all your gifts you shall offer every heave offering of Jehovah, of all its fat, the holy part of it out of it.
Num 18:30 And you shall say to them, When you have lifted up its fat, then it shall be credited to the Levites as the increase of the threshing-floor, and as the increase of the winepress.
Num 18:31 And you shall eat it in every place, you and your households. For it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.
Num 18:32 And you shall bear no sin because of it, when you have lifted up the fat of it. Neither shall you defile the holy things of the sons of Israel, lest you die.
You are to tithe to the Levites so they can minister on your behalf to Yehovah. Now notice what you are told to do for yourself. You are to take a tithe of your produce for yourself. You are to take 10% and spend it on yourself at each of the Feasts of Yehovah. Pay special attention to verse 19. DO NOT FORSAKE THE LEVITE. Have you done this? Are you guiltless in this regard?
Deu 12:17 You may not eat inside your gates the tithe of your grain or of your wine or of your oil, or the first-born of your herds or of your flock, or any of your vows which you vow, or your free-will offerings or the heave offering of your hand.
Deu 12:18 But you must eat them before Jehovah your God in the place which Jehovah your God shall choose; you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite within your gates. And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God in all that you put your hand to.
Deu 12:19 Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live on the earth.
Yehovah is looking out for you and telling you to come and enjoy the Feasts with Him. Take 10% of what He has blessed you with and come and take your vacation at the Feast days with Him. How awesome.
Deuteronomy 14:22-29 (MKJV)
22 You shall truly tithe all the increase of your seed that the field brings forth year by year.23 And you shall eat before Jehovah your God in the place which He shall choose to place His name there, the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the first-born of your herds and of your flocks, so that you may learn to fear Jehovah your God always.
24 And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it, or if the place is too far from you, which Jehovah your God shall choose to set His name there, when Jehovah your God has blessed you,
25 then you shall turn it into silver and bind up the silver in your hand, and shall go to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose.
26 And you shall pay that silver for whatever your soul desires, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever your soul desires. And you shall eat there before Jehovah your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household
27 and the Levite within your gates, you shall not forsake him, for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
28 At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up inside your gates.
29 And the Levite, because he has no part nor inheritance with you, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are inside your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
The word “increase” is tebû’âh BDB Definition: 1) produce, product, revenue which is what other article in the Newsletter is teaching you.
When Judah returned from the Captivity, Nehemiah again established the tithing laws.
Nehemiah 10:37-39 (MKJV)
37 and that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all kinds of trees, of wine and of oil, to the priests, to the rooms of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites, and they, the Levites, might have the tithes in all the cities we farmed.38 And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes, and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the rooms, into the treasure house.
39 For the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi shall bring the offering of the grain, of the new wine, and the oil, to the rooms where the vessels of the sanctuary are, and the priests who minister, and the gatekeepers and the singers. And we will not forsake the house of our God.
Now, when you do not tithe, what happens? Each of you wants to be in the Kingdom of Yehovah. You want to be part of it. Are you willing to work at it now to make it happen? We do not have a tabernacle. We cannot tithe to the work for the Tabernacle. But we do have men who are teaching you the Torah. Men who are teaching you about the Sabbath, the calendar and when the Holy Days are, and the Jubilee Cycles and men who are reminding you of these things both physically and spiritually.
Do you support them?
Many do not. You begrudge paying them for what they provide to you, yet you do have a monthly internet subscription you pay for. You have outrageous phone bills each month you pay so you can talk to people. You pay for lots of other things but you will not support nor do you think you have to support those who teach you about Yehovah. This is why those teaching, walk away. They have no support to do the work they are trying to do and yet people think they are free to dump all their crap on them.
If you are unwilling to support those doing the work now, are you also saying you will not support the work afterwards? Tithing will be part of the Kingdom, so you are commanded to practice it now.
Neh 13:10 And I saw that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them; for the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled each one to his field.
Neh 13:11 And I contended with the rulers and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together and set them in their place.
Neh 13:12 And all Judah brought the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil into the treasuries.
Neh 13:13 And I made treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah. And next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah. For they were counted faithful, and their office was to distribute to their brothers.
Neh 13:14 Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds which I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices of it.
Have we all forgotten this one little verse? How long are you to do this for? Some think until they get tired of learning from the Levites.
Deu 12:19 Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live on the earth.
We are told in Matthew that Elijah must come before the Messiah comes and he is going to restore all things.
Mat 17:10 And His disciples asked Him, saying, Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?
Mat 17:11 And answering Jesus said to them, Elijah truly shall come first and restore all things.
What has been restored? The Sabbath, the Holy Days, the Calendar using the Barley and the crescent moon. Many of you see how this has been refined over the past 20 years. You have also witnessed how the proper timing for the Sabbatical and Jubilee years has now been restored. How did any of this happen and by whom did any of these things happen? Now we must restore the tithing laws so that all can be blessed. If you are not tithing then this part of the restoration has not yet happened and it will not happen until you do begin.
Mal 3:1 Behold, I will send My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And Jehovah, whom you seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of Hosts.
Mal 3:2 But who can endure the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fuller’s soap.
Mal 3:3 And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. And He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may be offerers of a food offering in righteousness to Jehovah.
Mal 3:4 Then the food offering of Judah and Jerusalem shall be pleasing to Jehovah, as in the days of old and as in former years.
Mal 3:5 And I will come near you to judgment. And I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those who extort from the hired laborer’s wages, and turning away the widow, and the orphan, the alien, and not fearing Me, says Jehovah of Hosts.
I do not want you to believe me on any of this. Our motto from the beginning has been to prove all things. Even Yehovah tells you to test Him on this subject.
Mal 3:6 For I am Jehovah, I change not. Because of this you sons of Jacob are not destroyed.
Mal 3:7 From the days of your fathers, you have turned aside from My statutes, and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you, says Jehovah of Hosts. But you say. In what way shall we return?
Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering!
Mal 3:9 You are cursed with a curse; for you are robbing Me, the nation, all of it.
Mal 3:10 Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. And test Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, to see if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you, and pour out a blessing for you, until there is not enough room.
Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke your devourer, and he shall not decay the fruit of your ground against you; nor shall your vine miscarry against you in the field, says Jehovah of Hosts.
Mal 3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed; for you shall be a delightful land, says Jehovah of Hosts.
Mal 3:13 Your words have been strong against Me, says Jehovah. Yet you say, What have we spoken against You?
Mal 3:14 You have said, It is vain to serve God; and, What profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked as mourners before Jehovah of Hosts?
Mal 3:15 And now we are calling the arrogant blessed. Not only are the doers of wickedness built up, they also test God, and escape.
The Book of Remembrance
Mal 3:16 Then those fearing Jehovah spoke together, each man to his neighbor. And Jehovah listened and heard. And a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who feared Jehovah, and for those esteeming His name.
Mal 3:17 And they shall be Mine, says Jehovah of Hosts, for the day that I will make up My treasure. And I will pity them as a man has pity on his son who serves him.
Mal 3:18 Then you shall again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God, and him who does not serve Him.
Start today to take the 1st 10% and dedicate it to Yehovah. Then take the 2nd 10% and dedicate it to your family for keeping the Feasts anywhere He sets His name. It is a test. Yehovah is going to let you test Him and you get to see if He will bless you. At the same time, He is testing you to see if you are going to put into practice those things that make up and help His Kingdom to function.
You must also decide where you are going to send your first tithe. As I said, I never considered myself worthy. I have never been anointed by men or had them lay hands on me for this office, and yet I do hold this office and I have been anointed by Yehovah in the understanding of the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles and the prophecies they reveal. Do you know of anyone else who is doing this? If you do, then support them.
We have developed a team of pastors who teach these principles to those they teach. Our list of pastors is growing. Many of them are concerned about paying the bills because they do not have a job. sightedmoon.com has been supporting them so they can do the work. We have invested in a gravel pit operation that hires brethren and uses the profits to support the ministry of that region. But we could start to look after more teachers if we knew we could support them. And that depends on each one of you.
If you are in North America, Africa, or the Philippines, your tithe, big or small, helps run the Kingdom of Yehovah. It helps to care for those who teach you.
We have previously requested donations from you. We did not want to trouble you with tithing. We felt unworthy to accept it. But in so doing, we have robbed Yehovah of His command for us, and we have robbed ourselves of His blessing.
We can call it whatever we want. Donations, subscriptions, giving, or whatever. It does not matter. What matters is that we obey Him and do what He has said for the blessings to come and for us to be in His Kingdom that functions on tithing. He told us to tithe. He did not say to skimp on our tithes but to do more than just the minimum.
I want to encourage each of you to tithe to your local ministry pastor. I also want those associate ministries to take a tithe and send it to us if we are whom they are learning from for their assembly. If we are the place you are learning from, I ask that you tithe to us at sightedmoon.com. We are, after all, implementing the Sabbath and Holy Days according to the Barley and crescent moon as well as the Sabbatical and Jubilee years, are we not? Is there another ministry doing this?
I have been foolish for not obeying Yehovah in this matter. I apologize and I am now repenting for having not implemented it sooner. There are only two other ministries I know of that I would support and in fact I am already supporting.
Our world is in crisis. You can see it and you know it. You see the severe weather around the world. Who else is showing you how these curses fit in with Yehovah’s curses of Leviticus 26 and the Jubilee cycles? Who?
You have all learned a lot here at sightedmoon.com, and some of you owe Yehovah quite a lot for these revelations. Not all of you but some. If you want to continue to support Billy Graham, let him teach you these truths.
Yehovah did not command sending your tithes to the Egyptians or the Canaanites. He said to send them to those doing the work on behalf of the Tabernacle. We are doing that on behalf of the Kingdom now.
When we get Yehovah’s laws right, then good things happen. We keep the Sabbath and tell others you cannot cherry-pick which commandments you are going to keep. I say that again to you. You cannot cherry-pick which commandments you will keep. Tithing is part of the commandments that support His Kingdom.
We all want to be in the Kingdom, and we all want to reap the blessings from being part of that Kingdom. That Kingdom functions upon each citizen doing their part. Are you doing your part to bring about or to prepare to be a part of that Kingdom? We are called to be Kings and Priests in that Kingdom. Are you going to enforce those laws as a King, and are you going to teach those laws as a Priest?
We pay taxes in what ever country we are in to support the infrastructure, roads and bridges and the many things the Government provides. As Ambassadors to the Kingdom of Yehovah, what are you supporting and how are you doing that?
The world may have abused these laws or cherry-picked which ones they will keep in the past. It does not matter now what they did. What matters now is what you are going to do as a citizen of that Kingdom. The restoration of all things involves the restoration of the tithing laws. The world may have abused this one law and made many of you sick of it. Are you now ready to restore this law to build the Kingdom and show the world how to do it properly?
Do not forsake the Levite.
Deu 12:19 Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live on the earth.
We all talk about being a Bond Servant of Yehovah. We even discussed this at a recent midrash one Sabbath. If we truly are owned by Yehovah and mean it then He owns everything you have already. Should we be found complaining to our King who has commanded this?
One Tithe or Three Tithes? That is the Question.
One Tithe or Three Tithes? That is the Question.
I have come out of the Worldwide Church of God system, where we were taught to have a 1st tithe for the work and a 2nd tithe just for you to keep the Feasts to their full with your family. I was also taught that you kept the 3rd tithe for the widows and orphans every three years. They did not have a specific year, as they did not understand the Sabbatical year system
So as an individual do you keep 1 tithe and split that amongst all those involved, or do you have 3 tithes, 30% to share between all those involved? I have done the 3 tithes, which meant I was paying close to 60% in tithes and taxes. Even so, I managed to pay off my first house in just 6 years’ time.
Others say I have misunderstood this. I am going to share with you what I was sent that Nehemia teaches. You can then decide what you want to do. This is a selected transcript from Torah Pearls.
Nehemia: So, we’ve got three passages that talk about tithing, and there are others, but three main passages. One is over in Leviticus, where it talks about giving the tithe to the Levite. The second one is verses 22 through 27, which talks about taking the tithe up to Jerusalem. And the third one is verses 28 to 29 of this chapter in Deuteronomy 14, or in mine it’s 28 or 29, which talks about at the end of every third year giving it to the poor, including the Levite, because he has no portion with you.
This has been interpreted in various ways. The rabbinical interpretation has been to say there are really two tithes. We’re talking about 20 percent – 10 percent goes to the Levite, the other 10 percent goes either for the pilgrimage, which is what it’s really talking about in verses 22 through 27. You have to appear three times a year for the pilgrimage, we’ll talk about that in the next chapter. You bring it to Jerusalem at that time, or wherever you come on the pilgrimage, and you spend it on your pilgrimage, on pilgrimage feasts. Then in the third year you give it to the poor and the Levites.
So that’s 20 percent, and the rabbis refer to that as the first tithe and the second tithe, and the second tithe essentially has a variation in the third year; it goes to an alternative purpose. There have actually been some groups who have said that no, it’s 30 percent every year, 30 percent – three tithes, 30 percent. And the third-year tithes, well, you just collect it for the first two years, and then at the end of the third year you give this accumulated three years’ worth of 10 percent to the poor and the Levite.
So those are two interpretations that are out there. A third interpretation, which is one I’m going to suggest here, is that all three are talking about the same 10 percent. To me, the proof that it’s all three are the same 10 percent is in verses 27 and 29, where it’s talking about the Levite, and it says, “For he has no portion and inheritance with you,” which is kind of strange because, according to the rabbinical interpretation, he sure does have a portion in inheritance; he’s got 10 percent.
Jono: Yeah.
Nehemia: In other words, why does he need my 10 percent that I use for my pilgrimage feasts if he’s got the 10 percent I gave him last week? Why does he need this part of the second 10 percent, if he’s already got the first 10 percent?
Jono: Fair enough.
Nehemia: Also, in verse 29, that’s even more clear, that he’s along with the poor. He’s got nothing, right? So, you’ve got to give him of that 10 percent. What I argue is that actually all three are talking about the same tithe and different things that are being done with this tithe. It’s being used for the pilgrimage and then part of it is being given to the poor and part of that is being given to the Levite.
Neh 13:10 And I saw that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them; for the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled each one to his field.
I am not going to debate and argue over this with you all now. Most of those who want to argue do so and never tithe a nickel. They just argue. If you believe you should take 10% and divide it up amongst the Levite and this work, the widow, the orphan, and the poor, then great. Yehovah bless you for doing that. If, on the other hand, you believe you are obligated to do a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tithe, then do so, and do not neglect your own family.
You are now keeping the Sabbath from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. You are now keeping the Holy Days of Leviticus 23 according to the barley being Aviv to begin the year and the crescent moon to begin the month. And you are now letting the land rest in the Sabbatical years, storing food for that Sabbatical year and forgiving the debts of those who owe you as well as releasing your slaves at Sukkoth in the Sabbatical year. You are doing all of this to be in sync with Yehovah and obey Him so you can be part of His kingdom. You need to tithe for the education of others and the feeding of those who are acting as or like the Levitical priesthood, even though they are not proven to be so at this time. You need to tithe in order for the Kingdom of Yehovah to operate. This is the restoration process of all things.
Please study it and make a decision as to which way you are going to act, and then follow through and do it. I know the world is economically a very scary place right now, but I am throwing my hat into Yehovah’s system and trusting Him to take care of me while the world goes into turmoil.
Some say they will try it for a week or two and then see if they get any blessings. And if they do not see a ten-fold increase right away, they quit. Read again now how Yehovah will bless you if you obey. He does not say He is going to give you tenfold.
Robbing God
I also want to point out something that many of you may have read over. You have robbed Yehovah, not just of your tithes, but also of your offerings.
Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering!
You are commanded to keep the Holy Days, and you are also commanded not to appear before Yehovah empty-handed.
The Feast of Weeks
Deu 16:9 You shall count seven weeks to yourselves. Begin to count the seven weeks from the time you began to put the sickle to the grain.
Deu 16:10 And you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to Jehovah your God with a measure of a free-will offering of your hand, which you shall give according as Jehovah your God has blessed you.
Deu 16:11 And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your slave girl, and the Levite inside your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, those among you, in the place which Jehovah your God has chosen to place His name there.
Deu 16:12 And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt. And you shall be careful to do these statutes.
The Feast of Booths
Deu 16:13 You shall keep the Feast of Tabernacles seven days after you have gathered in your grain floor and your wine press.Deu 16:14 And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male slave, and your slave-girl, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow inside your gates.
Deu 16:15 Seven days you shall keep a solemn feast to Jehovah your God in the place which Jehovah shall choose. Because Jehovah your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.
Deu 16:16 Three times in a year shall all your males appear before Jehovah your God in the place which He shall choose: in the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and in the Feast of Weeks, and in the Feast of Tabernacles. And they shall not appear before Jehovah empty,
Deu 16:17 but each with his gift in his hand, according to the blessing of Jehovah your God, which He has given you.
Yehovah is asking you for a free-will offering. A freewill offering is an offering that is your choice—you decide what to give. Note: It is not called a free-will offering, because you have a choice on IF you are going to give or not give, but only because you are deciding WHAT you are going to give, at each of the Festivals or other times. Your gift should be in proportion to the blessing Yehovah has given you. You are to bring it to the place of worship with rejoicing—cheerfully and joyfully. You should be writing down all the blessings you have had over the course of the year to remind yourself of His kindness towards you. Of what Yehovah has done for you so that you can appreciate what He has done in your life.
Yehovah has instructed us to come and worship Him with our offering and to do it joyfully as we celebrate His feast days with Him.
Deu 16:15 Seven days you shall keep a solemn feast to Jehovah your God in the place which Jehovah shall choose.
The word, translated “solemn” here, means:
H2287 (Strong)
חָגַגchâgag
khaw-gag’
A primitive root (compare H2283, H2328); properly to move in a circle, that is, (specifically) to march in a sacred procession, to observe a festival; by implication to be giddy: – celebrate, dance, (keep, hold) a (solemn) feast (holiday), reel to and fro.
Yehovah promised—if you obey—to bless you in all your increase and in all the work of your hands. You are to give joyfully—in expectation of the upcoming blessing. Giving and joy go hand in hand.
Pay attention to Verse 16 where Yehovah says, you should not appear before the Lord empty-handed. Do not come to worship Yehovah with nothing in your hand. You can’t give what you don’t have, but…
…every man (and woman) is to give as he/she is able, according to the blessing of the Lord.
I know some of you will think I am just trying to make a money grab. Awesome. Don’t send me a dime. But do send it to Nehemia’s website, or Keith Johnson’s, or Michael Rood’s site. They all keep the Holy Days as we do, although we currently differ on what counts as Aviv barley. But do stop robbing Yehovah.

I remember Jacob Myers ( teaching about going to Isreal to look at the state of barley to see if it was aviv or not aviv in the 1950’s. Nehmiah Gordon was probably not even born yet at that time
I don’t know his age
Shalom Jerry, I did not post this right away because I wanted to do some research on this to see if there are any records to it. This would be news to me. While Jacob Meyers may have taught this subject as you said, there are no historical records confirming that he actually went and did it. To the contrary the Sacrded Name group he founded and promoted use the calculated calendar, and from my interactions with the group from about 2005-2012 that was what I understood as well. But I was not paying a lot of attention to it then.
So I will share what I was able to find here.
No, there is no confirmation that Jacob O. Meyer (1934–2010), founder of the Assemblies of Yahweh and a key figure in the Sacred Name Movement, taught, promoted, or kept the biblical calendar according to the state of the Aviv barley in Israel during the 1950s. Historical accounts of Meyer and the movement indicate he became interested in Sacred Name doctrines around 1955 (introduced by a college professor) and founded his organization in 1966, focusing primarily on using Yahweh/Yahshua and Torah observance, including Jewish festivals like Passover (influenced by earlier pioneers like C.O. Dodd who began keeping Passover in 1928). However, no primary sources or biographies (e.g., from Assemblies of Yahweh publications or Richard Nickels’ Origin and History of the Sacred Name Movement, 1999) mention Meyer organizing or promoting Aviv barley searches in Israel or using barley ripeness to determine the new year. Aviv barley revival is a more recent phenomenon, starting in the late 1980s with figures like Nehemia Gordon. Meyer’s group emphasized a calculated calendar based on Sacred Name principles, not on-site Aviv inspections in the 1950s.
Dear Mr. Dumond, I have a grandson Dean, he wants to obey Yehovah and learn His Word. There will be a time when he wants be baptized. Could I do it? If so, how do I do it? There is no man in this area that I can call on. Thankyou. Phyllis Mannering.
Shabbat Shalom Phylis, we do have someone not far who would be willing to assist when ever the time comes.Just give us a heads up.
Joseph, could you please answer phyllis’ question?
I feel confused about the tithe for widows and orphans. Am I supposed to save money every month (2%?) for three years and give it all at the end of that time? Somehow it doesn’t seem very practical.
When I left my Christian assembly, I redirected that tithe to local and global service organizations and sighted moon (3-4 ministries). Then I learned about the tithe for the feasts, which I used for travel, and barley flour, and other things I desired at the end of Sukkot. Then with a third tithe, I kept it with me and made it available when I learned of needs of widows, fatherless, and distressed (filling a void at an opportune time). This third tithe never really grew to a large amount.
Thank you, thankyou, I was quite concerned about the matter.God bless you all. Phyllis Mannering.
