The Birthday of Jesus Is the Day He is Going to Return

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,

This Work is Still Going Forward

I am getting notes from people in Kenya who are so excited and surprised by the things Bishop Telesphore is teaching them in regards to the 120 Jubilee Cycles and where we are in the plan of Yehovah. This note is from one of those people who were just awakened to the Jubilee Cycles and what they reveal.

We spoke about shabbat, feast, counting jubilee years, false pagan celebrations and more… I would like to invite you and your ministry again to come and give the word at our assembly We have five branches in Nairobi We have more than 200 believer alone in Nairobi

You recall I told you Bishop Telesphore was on his way to speak in Kenya the past few weeks. Will even though I do not always hear from Telesphore I do hear from those who hear him speak. And they are excited and continue to ask for me or to ask for James to come and teach them more. They are eager to learn and starving to learn more. And as always it has been a lack of funding that holds us back from doing more with more people that are keen to learn and teach.

Here is Telesphore email to me about this event.

Shalom Joseph
I was doing a follow up for the Bishops, Pastors and deacons of Kenya whom I gave the books and taught the truth in their churches from Monday 3rd – 7 to Friday 7th December in Kenya. I taught Victor Kiri about the Feasts of the Lord and he was excited about the books and the Feasts of Yahweh. We were discussing he can gother the 3 churches in one place and speak the truth to them as they are Hungry.

I spoke to Kii from Nairobi how we can organize 200 from his 3 churches with others church leaders from other denominations from Nairobi to meet in one of the churches in Nairobi so that they can be taught the Sabbatical Years and Jubilee Cycles, Feasts of Yahweh and the lies that the church leaders keep spreading in the church. I told him that this need to be fast as the time is running

At this time I am in the country of Rwanda, there is some church leaders there who requested the books and Hungry to know the truth. I am returning back this Friday.

This week we also had Brother Aike meet with Atty Jeremiah Belgica and His Brother Senator Greco Belgica and this father Bishop Butch Belgica where they discussed a number of the things I had written to them about and how the Philippines Government can be involved in these last days.

Between Burundi, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Tanzania, as well as the Philippines, James and I could be kept busy there full time just teaching. But the bottom line comes back to the same old issue we have had since we began, a lack of funds to support our efforts financially. I am not asking those of you who are already supporting this work to do more. No. I am asking you all to pray to Yehovah who owns all things to make a way possible so that we can go forward because right now I do not see how we are to be able to do this great work otherwise.

To each and everyone who has made the effort and to those who have doubled up on their donations, Thank you so very much for the help you have been to us and in working with us to share this message in these countries. May Yehovah bless you and keep you in the center of His palms.

At Sightedmoon.com, since we first began, we have not demanded that you join our group and make monthly donations in order to get those things we are teaching. Many Messianic teachers require you to do just that in order before you get their info. We never have and never will. We have made all of our teachings and videos available for free online. We have paid for the productions and the publishing and even had some books translated and made them all available for free. Yes, we sell those things that cost us money to make, but they are still available online for free. And we have given many of our products away.

We have also been showing you the work we are doing with the funds you have shared with us and the fruits of our actions. The fruits of your actions. So Thank you.

For those who write me and tell me why you will not support this work, please do not send us anything. We want those who want to do a work to work with us. We do not want anyone to feel obligated or guilted into giving us one penny. This is Yehovah’s work and He provides the amount He wants us to use at the time He wants us to use it. We do not always know that though and keep striving to do more with the little we have and to be ready when the door is opened for us to go forward.

New Moon of the 10th Month

The New Moon was seen last Saturday evening making Sunday, December 9, 2018, the 1st day of the 10th month. The day begins with sunset the previous day. December is Latin for the tenth month.

Here is the report

Dear Friends,

The new moon was sighted from Israel this evening on December 8, 2018!

* From Eilat at around 5:00pm by Lukas Schneider, Anabelle Santos, and Lior Schneider.
* From Beer Sheva at 5:20pm by Ephraim Amnon

As Rosh Chodesh (the first day of the month) begins the evening the new moon is sighted, the first day of this month is from sunset December 8, 2018 – sunset December 9, 2018. Be sure to keep track of what number month this is, based on when you started the new year.

The photos at the top of this report were taken by our faithful observers from their respective observation points throughout the Land of Israel this evening. On behalf of all of us who rely on these reports, we wish to thank everyone in Israel who looked for the new moon this evening (despite the weather) and sent in their observations in a timely manner. We also wish to take this opportunity to thank those of you have chosen to be a part of restoring the Biblical Calendar by supporting our efforts, we truly appreciate it.

New moon search update: cloud coverage across northern Israel

Becca Biderman: “We are still under cloud cover, but in looking at the weather map for all of Israel the southern region may have a chance of seeing the moon tonight”

Yoel Halevi: “A the moment there is a massive storm over Israel, and the sky is covered with clouds as far as the eye can see. As a result I am unable to sight the moon from my position in Northern Israel. If I hear of any sightings from other areas I will update everyone on the page.”

Dennis Chkolnik: “Complete cloud cover, zero visibility….no moon sighted tonight from Tiberias….praise Yehovah for the desirable rain, though!!! His mercy endures forever!!!”

Let’s Get Real

Diwali in 2018 started on Tuesday, the 6th of November and continued for 5 days until Saturday, the 10th of November.

Diwali (also called Lakshmi Puja, Laxmi Puja and Diwali Puja) is the Hindu festival of lights. It is celebrated in late Ashwin (September–October) and ends in early Kartika (October–November).

The main festival night of Diwali coincides with the darkest, new moon night of the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika in Bikram Sambat calendar.

Diwali Puja symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope. Diwali is one of the most popular holidays in Hindu countries.

Chanukah in 2018 started on Monday, the 3rd of December and continued for 8 days until Monday, the 10th of December. All dates begin the day evening before.

Chanukah (also spelled Chanuka, Hanuka, Hanukka, Hannukah or Hanukkah) is the Jewish Festival of Lights, the Feast of Consecration, or the Feast of the Maccabees.

We are now about to begin the third great festival of lights that the world celebrates called Christmas. And many of the Hypocritical messed up Messianics that found every reason and excuse to keep the Festival of lights for Chanukah will now loathsomely condemn those evil pagans for keeping the Christian Festival of Lights called Christmas. These types of Messianics are wannabe Jews and do everything Jewish just because the Jews do it and they keep the Sabbath. If you are one of those wannabe Jews then I make no apologies. You are to be following Yehovah and not a group of people or blindly keeping traditions that do not line up with Torah.

We are called to do a specific job. You were called by Yehovah to do a work. Are you doing that work? Are you supporting those that are doing that work? Or are you just another one of those self-righteous ones condemning others as pagans or false teachers but then doing the exact same festival by another name?

You were called to teach and find fellow disciples from all nations of the world.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Mark 16:15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Luke 24:45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Are you doing that?

Why would anyone listen to you when you speak Heb-rish, That is English with a lot of Hebrew sounding words so that you sound (to yourself) Righteous. It is the same as those who are very Holy and speak sanctimoniously using the King James thees and thous to again sound Holy.

Those people who are now about to keep the Feast of Christmas are not the enemy. You and I, not that long ago, were keeping the very same Festival. Someone or some article or Yehovah Himself opened your eyes to understand His truths and thus began your return to the Torah. We all have different ways in which Yehovah called us and yet overall they are similar. You have been called for a purpose. That is to get ready for the wedding and to invite others.

Mat 22:1 And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son, and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’ But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’ And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.
“But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. And he said to him, Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Notice that many are invited but only a few are chosen to be in the Wedding Feast. Again in the parable of the Ten Virgins, we see that all 10 were called and in the end, only 5 were allowed into the Wedding. They all had let their oil go very low and only 5 were prepared with backup or spare oil. The others had to go back out to get some and that takes time studying and reading and praying. Basically relearning the truth they did not learn because they were playing religion.

Right now we have many false teachers and some very prominent ones at that. Many thousands follow them, as do some of you.

They grow beards and put on yarmulkas and begin to dress like the Amish. They take on a Hebrew Sounding name. They can quote copious scriptures and condemn all those around them but they do not have the love of Yehovah in them. Their faith is shallow and if you do not dress like them or agree with the things they say then you are hated and cast out of their select group. You are called anti-Semitic and a hater of the Jews.

Mat 24:3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

If you are one of those doing this then stop doing it right now. All of us need to stop the hate we have towards those who do not yet know all that you know. It is the same as though you were reading the Torah for 10, 20, or 30 years and more and expecting a 3-year-old to understand and obey. And we know how trying a three-year-old can be and yet we still love them.

I have learned so much from Bro Aike in the Philippines and Bishop Telesphore in Burundi. Both of them walk into Christian Churches and Christian and Catholic groups and read the Torah and read the Gospels to them. And when they leave, and even when I was there with them and after I left, the whole church or the whole group began to keep the Sabbath and was eager to learn more about the Holy Days and how to keep them. They wanted to learn more. They did not understand the truth.

Read once again slowly read what it says in Acts.

Acts 15:1 But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” And after Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and the elders about this question. So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, describing in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and brought great joy to all the brothers. When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they declared all that God had done with them. But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses.”
The apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider this matter. And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith. Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.”
And all the assembly fell silent, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles. After they finished speaking, James replied, “Brothers, listen to me. Simeon has related how God first visited the Gentiles, to take from them a people for his name. And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written,
“‘After this I will return,
and I will rebuild the tent of David that has fallen;
I will rebuild its ruins,
and I will restore it,
that the remnant of mankind may seek the Lord,
and all the Gentiles who are called by my name,
says the Lord, who makes these things known from of old.’
Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who turn to God, but should write to them to abstain from the things polluted by idols, and from sexual immorality, and from what has been strangled, and from blood. For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, for he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.”
The Council’s Letter to Gentile Believers
Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They sent Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers, with the following letter: “The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings. Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions, it has seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”
So when they were sent off, they went down to Antioch, and having gathered the congregation together, they delivered the letter. And when they had read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement. And Judas and Silas, who were themselves prophets, encouraged and strengthened the brothers with many words. And after they had spent some time, they were sent off in peace by the brothers to those who had sent them. But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

They don’t have to know everything before they can come. They just have to want to learn and want to start to obey. It is that simple and the rest they will learn each week where ever the law is taught in every city by those teaching Torah, for it is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.

Are you Blaspheming the Name of Yehovah?

I want each of you to look at yourself. Not me or others but you examine yourself and see if you are blaspheming the name of Yehovah. You are to go amongst the nations and teach them the truth about Yehovah.

Isaiah 52:1 Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Shake yourself from the dust and arise; be seated, O Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
For thus says the Lord: “You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.” For thus says the Lord God: “My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there, and the Assyrian oppressed them for nothing. Now therefore what have I here,” declares the Lord, “seeing that my people are taken away for nothing? Their rulers wail,” declares the Lord, “and continually all the day my name is despised. Therefore my people shall know my name. Therefore in that day they shall know that it is I who speak; here I am.” How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the Lord to Zion. Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Depart, depart, go out from there; touch no unclean thing;  go out from the midst of her; purify yourselves, you who bear the vessels of the Lord. For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

When David sinned with Bathsheba he was blaspheming the name of Yehovah. When you sin, you are taking the name of Yehovah in vain because you are already betrothed to Him. You have already taken on His name. And when you sin, you scorn His name.

2 Sam. 12:13 David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die.” Then Nathan went to his house.

Our sins, our lack of love, our hatred for our brethren blasphemes the name of Yehovah. We will pay a penalty for those sins.

Ezek. 36:19 I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries. In accordance with their ways and their deeds I judged them. But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that people said of them, ‘These are the people of the Lord, and yet they had to go out of his land.’ But I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations to which they came.
I Will Put My Spirit Within You
“Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

Peter says the same thing.

2 Pet. 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority.
Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord. But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction, suffering wrong as the wage for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, while they feast with you. They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error. They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

And the Apostle Paul also said the name of Yehovah is blasphemed because of our sins and our hypocrisy.

Roman 2:24 For, as it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”
For circumcision indeed is of value if you obey the law, but if you break the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision. So, if a man who is uncircumcised keeps the precepts of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision? Then he who is physically uncircumcised but keeps the law will condemn you who have the written code and circumcision but break the law. For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical. But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.

Blood on your hands?

Before I get sidetracked I am talking to you this week about Christmas.

Many of you are married to unconverted mates the same as I am. We have done great harm to our families which Yehovah is calling through us. I took my Christmas tree on Christmas day, the very first year I learned about Christmas; only telling my wife about it two weeks before Christmas, and took the tree and all the decorations still on it and threw it on the curb in the snow with the garbage.

My wife was furious and I was right and oh so wrong at the same time. That was 36 years ago now and my wife and none of my children have ever taken an interest in the things I teach or do until this year when my daughter came to Jerusalem with me. This self-righteous act of mine also was the basis for my wife and I almost getting divorced about 1000 times in our marriage which this year was our 40th anniversary. Right now I have a son who will not and has not spoken with me for almost a year now because of my beliefs.

I am reading how some of you will not go to your families home during the holiday break because they set up a tree in their house. You will not eat the meal with the family because it is sacrificed to false gods. You have become isolated and alone and even the Grandchildren do not understand why you hate them so much. Some of you have children born on December 25 and will not celebrate with them because it might look like you’re keeping Christmas.

How are you to witness to them the great things you have come to know about Yehovah if you do not and will not visit them during this time of the year? How can you go into all the world and preach the gospel and not say boo to your own family? I am speaking to myself here and to you as well. How can you claim not to have their blood on your hands if you keep silent? I am referring to Ezekiel 33.

Ezek 33:1 The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, speak to your people and say to them, If I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and make him their watchman, and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people, then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.
“So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, that person shall die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.

And some of you right about now are stressing out. You know the huge fight you had the last time and do not want to have it again. You hate and dread this time of the year. So do I. Keep reading.

First of all, the meal is just a family get together. Read what Paul says.

1 Cor 10:23 “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience. But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for the sake of conscience— I do not mean your conscience, but his. For why should my liberty be determined by someone else’s conscience? If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks?
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

Why does Paul do this? Why am I asking you to do this? Read again the very last part, “That they might be saved” Bottom line.

1 Cor 9:19 For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.

What is Christmas about after all? It is supposed to be about the birth of Yehshua. But like the rest of the world and like we were and some of us still are to a certain degree, Satan has deceived them and us. So should you condemn them for being the same way you were not that long ago? No. You should want to help them and you can only do that by being there and letting them see just how NOT WERD you are.

This by no means is condoning the celebration of the Saturnalia Feast. Nor am I telling you to take part in the false worship of it.

When we go to my family or they come to our house, I am there and we talk and play and have fun and eat. But on Christmas morning when they gather around the tree, I do not join in. I stay in my room until it is over and then come out. My absence is noticed.

Waiting on Yehovah

While you are with the family and they begin to sing certain songs or talk about the meaning of this day, do not barge in condemning them all to hell. You will have successfully slammed the door shut this year. Rather wait in silence and listen for Yehovah to provide you that opportunity to talk.

Here is the song Oh Holy Night. Read the words

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining. Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices! O night divine, the night when Christ was born; O night, O Holy Night , O night divine! O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming, With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. O’er the world a star is sweetly gleaming, Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land. The King of kings lay thus lowly manger; In all our trials born to be our friends. He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger, Behold your King! Before him lowly bend! Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another, His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother. And in his name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, With all our hearts we praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we, His power and glory ever more proclaim! His power and glory ever more proclaim!

Now here is a conversation you could have about this song. You could talk about many of the Christmas songs to do this, I just picked this one for an example.

They are celebrating the birth of the Messiah. The same as you do. They are worshipping the Messiah the same as you do. OK well, not the same, but their intentions are towards the Messiah even though they have been deceived into something else just as you were. So, find the common ground and begin a conversation. Not an argument. I have had many of those. But seek to find some common ground. Send out a few fliers and if they are shot down right away or have a great deal of resistance then shut up.

But if and only if they are received with interest or in a positive light then and only then begin to share but stop after each little bit you share and wait for them to ask for more. If they do not ask or the conversation changes then shut up. Learn when to talk and when to be silent. And Pray Yehovah blesses your mouth so you can speak with those He is calling.

But you also need to learn what might be of interest to those you are talking to. And this can be used around the office or coffee cooler. But DO NOT ARGUE.

For example, did you know that the Birth of Yehshua almost a caused a major war between the Romans and the Parthian Empire? You can read about it in a recent article of ours The Magi Almost Caused a War and then once you know the facts talk about this subject. And if you forget the details and they are still interested then you can send them to the link to read it for themselves.

You can also use this article to talk about the Magi coming two years after the birth when Jesus was two. That is why Herod killed all the babies two years old or younger.

Or what about the actual day He was born on. They will say no one knows for sure and then concede to December 25. But you can say you can know the actual day and know for sure using your Bible.

Here is another article proving this very thing. The Birth Day of Yehshua-The Feast of Yom Teruah.

Many expect to be raptured when the Messiah comes. You do know that the day the Messiah is going to come is the same day he came the first time. On a day and at an hour that no one knows in the exact same way a pregnant woman does not know the day or the hour of her birthing until it happens. This was the Day Yehshua was born on the Feast of Trumpets. Talk about it.

I was raised believing that all the animals around the manger knelt down and worshipped Jesus when He was born. And I was told they do this every Christmas. Then one year I decided to check it out. I stayed in the barn for hours Christmas eve watching to see if the Cows and the Pigs and the horses would kneel down at midnight. Why Midnight I do not know but I stayed there for hours watching and the barn is not exactly warm here in December in Canada. My Dad still laughs at me for doing that. If you want to know if they do or do not then I suggest you find yourself a barn and spend December 25 in there watching.

So then if the conversation turns to the manger, you could then talk about the importance of the manger for the Temple as this was the place where the lambs were watched by the shepherds to later be sacrificed at the Temple, just as Yehshua was.  The shepherds were Levitical Priests not some ragamuffins in the field. Our article Migdal Eder-The Truth of Messiahs Birth can help give you all the details about this little-known subject. He was not born in any old manger but He was born in a very specific Manger that was for the Temple.

Now here is another conversation you can have. The very same day that the Messiah was born on is going to be the very same day that He comes back on. No, I am not saying Yehshua is coming back on Christmas Day. He is coming back on the same day He was born one, The Feast of Trumpets. Again our article The Return Of Yeshua can help you so that you can have a calm conversation with those Yehovah is calling if they are interested in talking about these things. Do not force the issue. Be patient and wait for your opportunity to share.

And if they object saying no man can know the day or the hour, then say exactly, and they are correct. Then you can explain what that means. Again it is the Feast of Trumpets.

Every single major event Yehovah does has been done on the Holy Days of Lev 23 and when people do not know them or understand them then they have no hope of knowing what is going to come in the future. And this describes all Christians who have done away with the law and now are rudderless in a sea of confusion.

Passover; the story of the Exodus and every single detail of this miraculous event was a prelude of the time when Yehshua was going to be killed just as the Passover Lambs were on this very same day Nisan 14th. Again this ties into the Manger and the Shepherds in the article above. Noah Abraham and Lot all kept this time of the year long before there was ever anyone known as a Jew.

The Wave Sheaf day is the day Yehshua ascended to Heaven with the captives that were dead and brought back to life at this same time.

The 7th day of Unleavened Bread is the day they crossed the Red Sea putting Egypt and sin out of their existence.

The Feast of Pentecost was the day the Ten Commandments were given and the on this very same day The Holy Spirit was given to the Apostles.

The Feast of Trumpets is the Feast that comes at a day or an hour that no man can know. And just like a baby being born you could not predict what day the mother was to give birth. No One Knows the Day or the Hour. This was the day Yehshua was born on and it is also the same day He is going to come back on. It was His birthday and this is why we shout for joy and blow the party horns which we call shofars. So keep the birthdays with your family.

Then we next have the very somber Day of Atonement. This is the day when God himself said he would die for our sins and put the blame back on the guilty one who caused it, Satan who is then led away by a strong man on this very day. This is when you are cleansed and your sins are forgotten.

After this, we have the Feast of Sukkot which is the wedding party for 7 whole days. The day we are to be married to the Messiah. All of Christendom awaits this day but does not know or understand it because they have done away with the laws that teach it.

And last comes the 8th Day Feast which shows us that on this Day Yehovah is going to come and dwell us.

You do not need to rattle off endless and copious amounts of scripture to them. All you need to do is to talk to them like real people one on one face to face.

1 Cor 3:1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?
What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

You brethren, are just those who plant a seed or maybe bring some water. Nothing more. You cannot save anyone. You cannot call anyone.

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the Prophets, And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me— not that anyone has seen the Father except he who is from God; he has seen the Father.

Only Yehovah can call them and only Yehovah can open their minds to teach them. It is Yehovah who teaches them, not you nor me. We are just seed planters or waterers. So plant whatever seeds you can while you have time to plant them.

this is so much better….the way of love in truth. Glad you liked the video link to the ‘Temple’ Fort Antonia. too. Have been trying seeds and watering for a bit after fearing God so much that it alienated opportunity to share gently in hope too. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then and God has blessed me with much greater wisdom and deeper love to replace the fear that leads us in to condemning judgments by our actions not being full of grace towards others who do not know any better.
Relationship helps us through our misunderstandings about Our righteous judge………….He is MERCIFUL and faithful to forgive just as we should be if we want the Lord’s Prayer Forgiveness too.
Your comment on the new moon has prompted me to write you but I will do it on the admin email for the sake of love.
May you be blessed with great strength for the path Elohim has set you on.

    Dear Joseph,
Thanks for your newsletter and for your studious nature and love of truth.
I had a couple of questions about what you wrote.
You wrote regarding false teachers: “They grow beards and put on yarmulkas and begin to dress like the Amish. They take on a Hebrew Sounding name.”
I agree with you that many come into Torah observance and then begin to gravitate toward these leaders because they sound, look and appear like they’re the real deal. However, like almost every group, not every single thing they do is wrong or anti-torah.
Lev 19:26 ‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying. 27 You shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you destroy the sides of your beard. 28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am Yahweh.
I’m sure you’d agree that consuming blood, divination, soothsaying and tattoos are transgressions of the Torah. In others words sin. So why do you get up each morning and not just destroy the sides of your beard but destroy all of it. You must know the scriptures clearly show the prophets and apostles all had beards, and most importantly Yahshua as well.
Just to reiterate what you said: “When you sin, you are taking the name of Yehovah in vain because you are already betrothed to Him. You have already taken on His name. And when you sin, you scorn His name.”
Just a side note regarding the latest fashionable haircut for men, I call it the Kim Jong-un do. It’s described in Lev 19:27: You shall not shave around the sides of your head.
    Adam Clarke’s Commentary Vol. 1, pg. 575.
“Herodotus (Greek historian, 484?-425 BC) observes that the Arabs shave or cut their hair round, in honor of Bacchus (God of wine), who, they say, had his hair cut in this way, lib. 3, cap. 8. He says also that the Macians, a people of Libya, cut their hair round, so as to leave a tuft on top of the head, lib. 4, cap. 175. In this manner the Chinese cut their hair to the present day (1830).
So, many men today are unaware they cut their hair like the pagans did in honor of their gods.
You wrote: “…the very somber Day of Atonement. This is the day when God himself said he would die for our sins.”
I can’t find in the Bible where “God himself said he would die for our sins.” Could you please point me to the chapter and verse?
    Shalom,

We had this article David, that shows Yehovah is the one who died for us. https://sightedmoon.com/human-sacrifice-lev-16/
Ahhh the Beard debate. You are not to shave around the sides of your head nor destroy the sides of your beard. Notice this was done for the dead.
When David sent two ambassadors to the funeral of the King of the Ammonites. They did not mare their beards as they ammonites did for the dead so Hanun did it to them which was to their shame.
2 Sam 10:1 After this the king of the Ammonites died, and Hanun his son reigned in his place. And David said, “I will deal loyally with Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father dealt loyally with me.” So David sent by his servants to console him concerning his father. And David’s servants came into the land of the Ammonites. But the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think, because David has sent comforters to you, that he is honoring your father? Has not David sent his servants to you to search the city and to spy it out and to overthrow it?” So Hanun took David’s servants and shaved off half the beard of each and cut off their garments in the middle, at their hips, and sent them away. When it was told David, he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, “Remain at Jericho until your beards have grown and then return.”
There is no commandment to grow a beard and those who say you must are adding to the torah what is not there.
Your argument about men cutting their hair like the pagans is ridiculous. The Pagans also had beards and does this mean that anyone today growing a beard does so in like manner as the pagans.

    Hi Joe,
Thanks for all the great advice in the newsletter. I said to Chris … would have been good to know that 5 years ago LOL
Your suggestions are really helpful, practical and straight forward. Thanks!

Thank you for this particular teaching. This will be my first christmas with family and grandchildren who have a tree and little gifts under it. I was planning to ignore all of it. Let them do their thing (which does not include the birth of Christ, only the tinsel and gifts and a special meal) and stay seperate; “righteous and holy”. My heart told me it would not plant or water seeds . . . All those plans are now revised.
A note: the first line of the newsletter I read “The New Moon was seen last Saturday evening making Sunday, December 16, 2018, the 1st day of the 10th month.” Was that not the 8/9th?

Shabbat Shalom Joseph, SightedMoon team and Brothers and Sisters around the world,
I love this newsletter. You speak with wisdom and love, without compromising Trurh!
I have been considering these things and what you say is what has been in my heart but couldn’t communicate. Thank you for Excellent advice!
Why throw the baby out with the bathwater? Christians are celebrating the birth of our Saviour! They have been misled! But I see no good reason to punish them (or ourselves) for having been lied to! Better to take it as an opportunity, Instead of hating the season, we can love the people Yehovah has given us.
I have an update that might interest you. I found out that there will be a Xmas party at the local church on December 21st. Also there is a Christian woman living near here. She doesn’t speak English but my sister in law will invite her to come here for a visit. She knows the local peacher who will host the Xmas event. I hope to arrange a meeting. I may have to attend the party in order to do that but, you have given me some useful tips for making good use of the opportunity.
    Jeremiah 10
3  For the customs of the people [are] vain; for one cuts a tree out of the forest with the axe, …
4  They adorn it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and hammers, so that it will not wobble. 5  … DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THEM; for they cannot do evil nor good, for it is not in them.
I ain’t afraid of no christmas tree!
    Blessings to all.

“I ain’t afraid of no Christmas tree!”. Love it!!!!
As an aside, we don’t observe, probably since childless. Remembering Christmas as a child, this season, was not a rewarding experience. As the family scapegoat, which my mother did not do a very good job of trying to hide, my unwantedness just became that much more apparent when “gifts” were opened.
Christmas After – difficult to continue to deny the low grade chronic depression that was my family’s constant companion all year long, since precious energy resources used up with unrealistic and unmet expectations….
I can understand the need for some sort of pick-me-up during the shorter, darker days….D3 levels starting to wane, sugar/carb consumption on the rise, alcohol flowing freely most places….false love and light just a poor substitute, but maybe better than nothing….

    Greetings Joseph,
Joseph wrote: “Ahhh the Beard debate. Notice this was done for the dead.”
Cutting the flesh was done for the dead (see Lev 19:27) but tattoos, shaving the beard in what today is call a goatee or shaving the head with just the hair left on top was not done for the dead as we’ll see.
Lev. 19:27 is among a long list of commandments up to and including Lev. 20:21, and finally Yahweh makes it clear He will not tolerate any of this for His people.
Lev. 20:23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
24d I am Yahweh your God, which have separated you from other people.
26b And ye shall be holy unto me: for I Yahweh am holy, and have separated you from other people, that ye should be mine.
Just what did the heathen of this period look like? We get a look at them from several sources because these nations, unlike Israel, left behind images, carvings and sculptures of what they look like. Joseph, you’re noted for laying on us page after page of historical information to prove your point so after reading all this please feel free to show us your side of this debate.
    Clarke’s Commentary Vol. 1, pg. 575.
“Herodotus (Greek historian, 484?-425 BC) observes that the Arabs shave or cut their hair round, in honor of Bacchus (God of wine), who, they say, had his hair cut in this way, lib. 3, cap. 8. In this manner the Chinese cut their hair to the present day (1830). If the hair was rounded, and dedicated for purposes of this kind (that is to their gods), it will at once account for the prohibition in this verse. The corners of thy beard.] Probably meaning the hair of the cheek that connects the hair of the head with the beard. From the images and paintings which remain of the ancient Egyptians, we find that they were accustomed to shave the whole hair off their face, except merely that upon the chin.”
Revised Easton’ Bible Dictionary articles Beard, Baldness and Hair.
The mode of wearing it was definitely prescribed to the Jews (Le. 19:27, 21:5). Hence the import of Ezekiel’s description of the “razor” i.e., the agents of an angry providence being used against the guilty nation of the Jews (Ez. 5:1-4). It was a part of a Jew’s daily toilet to anoint his beard with oil and perfume (Ps. 133:2). Beards were trimmed with the most fastidious care (2Sa. 19:24) and their neglect was an indication of deep sorrow (Isa. 15:2, Jer. 41:5). The custom was to shave or pluck off the hair as a sign of mourning (Isa. 50:6, Jer. 48:37, Ezr. 9:3). The beards of David’s ambassadors were cut off by Hanun (2Sa. 10:4) as a mark of indignity. On the other hand, the Egyptians carefully shaved the hair off their faces, and they compelled their slaves to do so also (Ge. 41:14). The Egyptians let the hair of their head and beard grow only when they were in mourning, shaving it off at other times. “So particular were they on this point that to have neglected it was a subject of reproach and ridicule; and whenever they intended to convey the idea of a man of low condition, or a slovenly person, the artists represented him with a beard.” Joseph shaved himself before going in to Pharaoh (Ge. 41:14). The women of Egypt wore their hair long and plaited. Wigs were worn by priests and laymen to cover the shaven skull, and false beards were common. The great masses of hair seen in the portraits and statues of kings and priests are thus altogether artificial.
    “Beard,” 1994 Funk & Wagnall’s Encyclopedia.
The early Egyptians, however, usually shaved their beards, except in time of mourning. Among the Jews an unkempt, neglected beard was a sign of grief. After World War I the custom of wearing beards almost disappeared in the Western world, except among certain Orthodox Jews, who strictly observed the biblical prohibition against cutting the hair, and among those who wore beards to proclaim their freedom from convention.
The priests of Isis* shaved their heads close to the skin; the priests of Budhoo do so still; their ordinances oblige them to shave their heads every tenth day. To let the hair grow long would have been improper; therefore the Lord commands them to poll—cut the hair short, but not to shave. [*Egyptian goddess of fertility and motherhood]. Clarke’s Commentary, vol. 4, pg. 544.
There were only three reasons Yahweh allowed for shaving ones head: 1) A Nazarite vow, Nu. 6:2,13,18; 2) Leprosy or infection on the head, Lev. 13:33 & 14:8-9; 3) death of a relative, Lev. 21:1-3.
“The Talmud points out that the beard is one of the physical traits that distinguishes man from woman. To remove it is an offense against nature.” [Abrabanel, Isaac (1437-1508), Jewish statesman, philosopher, and theologian re Lev.19:27].*
The beard is “the adornment of a man’s face,” (BM 84a).*
A man without his beard is compared to a eunuch [Yev.80b; Shabb.152a].*
    *Encyclopedia Judaica, Vol.4, pg. 358.
Some Medieval Jewish commentators considered a man with a shaven face to be tantamount to a man in a woman’s garment, an abomination according to Deut.22:5
The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol.2, pg. 123.
Clement of Alexandria called the beard man’s “natural adornment” and said it is “never permissible” to remove it1.
“The hairs of the beard have been numbered.” and “To seek beauty in hairlessness is sheer effeminacy, if done by men.” Clement2.
“God planned that woman be smooth-skinned, taking pride in her natural tresses, the only hair she has, as the horse in its mane.” and “But man he adorned like the lion, with a beard. . . .” Clement3.
    The Fathers of the Church, Vol.23. 1pg. 218; 2pg. 215; 3 pg. 214.
Other early Christian writings similarly oppose shaving. Jerome wrote against the removal of the beard 1.
The “Apostolic Constitutions” (i.3) insisted that men should have beards 1.
In 398, the fourth council of Carthage prohibited clergymen from removing the beard 2.
It did little good to try to force the laity to conform to the prohibition against shaving, but for many centuries after this, clergymen were expected to have beards, according to Bingham’s “Antiquities of the Christian Church” [I.ii.15,16] 2.
    The Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol.II. 1pg. 612; 2 pg. 614.
As the centuries passed, shaving became more and more acceptable among Christians until finally, by about the year 1000, men in Christendom were almost universally clean-shaven. Krumholz, Phillip L. A History of Shaving and Razors, pg. 6.
In 1528, (William) Tyndale pointed out that shaving “is borrowed of the heathen” and proclaimed that “the shaven nation hath put Christ out of his room”
Oxford English Dictionary XV, pg. 194f.
In 1859, another Englishman, James Ward, wrote “Defence of the Beard”, a pamphlet which listed eighteen reasons why a man was “bound to grow a beard, unless he was indifferent as to offending the Creator and good taste”
Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics pg. 442.
Jamieson, Fausset, Brown Commentary: It seems probable that this fashion had been learned by the Israelites in Egypt, for the ancient Egyptians had their dark locks cropped short or shaved with great nicety, so that what remained on the crown appeared in the form of a circle surrounding the head, while the beard was dressed into a square form. This kind of coiffure had a highly idolatrous meaning; and it was adopted, with some slight variations, by almost all idolaters in ancient times. (Jer 9:25,26 25:23, where “in the utmost corners” means having the corners of their hair cut.) Frequently a lock or tuft of hair was left on the hinder part of the head, the rest being cut round in the form of a ring, as the Turks, Chinese, and Hindus do at the present day.
neither shalt thou mar –The Egyptians used to cut or shave off their whiskers, as may be seen in the coffins of mummies, and the representations of divinities on the monuments. But the Hebrews, in order to separate them from the neighboring nations, or perhaps to put a stop to some existing superstition, were forbidden to imitate this practice. It may appear surprising that Moses should condescend to such minutia as that of regulating the fashion of the hair and the beard–matters which do not usually occupy the attention of a legislator–and which appear widely remote from the province either of government or of a religion. A strong presumption, therefore, arises that he had in mind by these regulations to combat some superstitious practices of the Egyptians. Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible (1871)
27 The corners of your heads – That is your temples, ye shall not cut off the hair of your heads round about your temples. This the Gentiles did, either for the worship of their idols, to whom young men used to consecrate their hair, being cut off from their heads, as Homer, Plutarch and many others write; or in funerals or immoderate mournings, as appears from Isa 15:2 Jer 48:37. And the like is to be thought concerning the beard or the hair in the corner, that is, corners of the beard. The reason then of this prohibition is because God would not have his people agree with idolaters, neither in their idolatries, nor in their excessive sorrowing, no nor so much as in the appearances of it. Wesley’s Explanatory Notes
Among the Jews, as among most Oriental peoples, the beard was especially cherished as a symbol of virility; to cut off another man’s beard was an outrage (II Kings, x, 4); to shave or to pluck one’s own beard was a sign of mourning (Jer., xli, 5; xlviii, 37); to allow the beard to be defiled constituted a presumption of madness (I Kings, xxi, 13). Certain ceremonial cuttings of the beard which probably imitated pagan superstition were strictly forbidden (Lev., xiv, 9). These usages which we learn from the Bible are confirmed by the testimony of monuments, both Egyptian and Assyrian, in which the Jews are invariably depicted as bearded. The Egyptians themselves commonly shaved, and we are told that Joseph, on being taken from his prison, was made to shave before appearing in the presence of the king (Gen., xli, 14).

So Yahweh was saying don’t copy what you see the other nations doing for they are not my children, you are. Do not desire to look like them but be content looking like I created you to look like. Is it a consequence that today, as the end draws near, you see more and more men with shaved heads and goatees? Today many men look like women with earrings etc. and women, with short cropped hair, like men, this is without even getting into the clothes they wear.
Deut 12:30-31 Do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise. You shall not worship Yahweh your Elohim in that way; for every abomination to Yahweh which He hates they have done for their gods
Joseph wrote: “When David sent two ambassadors to the funeral of the King of the Ammonites. They did not mare their beards as they ammonites did for the dead so Hanun did it to them which was to their shame.”
David’s ambassadors were not sent for the funeral of Hanun’s father but afterwards. And I suppose the ambassadors did not also “cut off their garments in the middle, at their buttocks.” Did the Ammonites cut off their garments in the middle, at their buttocks to mourn the dead? If they just went for the funeral would the advisors to the king get suspicious and allege “Has not David sent his servants to you to search the city and to spy it out and to overthrow it?”
Joseph wrote: “There is no commandment to grow a beard.”
You are correct Joe but why would you need a commandment to do something that happens naturally? There is also no commandment to grow hair on your head or to grow finger nails either. And because all men grow beards the commandment is what to do or not to do with what our Creator gave us.
Joseph wrote: “Your argument about men cutting their hair like the pagans is ridiculous. The Pagans also had beards and does this mean that anyone today growing a beard does so in like manner as the pagans.”
You’ve read all the evidence I presented so now you know different and if you destroy your beard altogether or fashion it as did the pagans you are doing an “abomination to Yahweh which He hates” (Deut 12:31).

I am wondering if this also applies to the women not to mar the sides of their heads. They would have to let their facial hair grow as well. LOL Show me the commandment then I will do it. You have provided many views but not one commanded scripture. And if it is a commandment then why are NAzarines commanded to shave al their body hair. INconsistant theology is why.

Native American Indians have very little to no body hair facially or on the chest as the way they come out of the shop……just an unusual thing I have learned recently. I tend to agree about the beard thing though.

    Greetings Joseph,
As a person, who had a wife that celebrated xmas, I have tried the route you suggest and believe me no one enraptured by the spirit of xmas and the pervasive materialism at this time of year wants any discussion that might diminish the glow of their festivities. It’s wise to stay clear of the celebrating taking place this month and arrange to be present at a more advantageous time of year, like a family reunion or summer get together. It’s unfair of you Joe to equate a person’s absence at xmas dinner with Ez 33:8.
Eze 33:8 If I say to the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.
Surely you must tell them of the “wickedness” of xmas before they are consumed by the spirit of the season. Your absence then will heighten the seriousness of your warning.
The Apostle Paul would be the first to tell you the meal is NOT just a family get together. Who are you kidding Joe? Paul says in your quote “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful.” Going to an xmas feast is not the most helpful time to “save some of them.” Would Paul have attended some pagan feast as the most “helpful” time to preach the gospel or would he have come back the next day after they had sobered up? What’s wrong with the other 364 days in the year to “say boo to your family”?
Joseph you wrote: “No. You should want to help them and you can only do that by being there and letting them see just how NOT WERD you are. When we go to my family or they come to our house, I am there and we talk and play and have fun and eat. But on Christmas morning when they gather around the tree, I do not join in. I stay in my room until it is over and then come out. My absence is noticed.”
What are you saying Joe? Your “absence is noticed” at the most important, the most pivotal time of this whole pagan extravaganza. Sorry, but they’re not going to think you’re “not weird” if you miss the climax of this colossally expensive spectacle. Nothing wrong with being called weird as long as you have explained your position before hand.
To tell the truth (and this may seem harsh but you’re a tough cookie) this article seems like a justification piece. It has no common sense behind it at all and hopefully will not encourage others to fall into this trap. I say this because you did say earlier in the newsletter not to follow people but only Yah.
One last thing: You indicated some years you have xmas at your house, tree and all. As head of your household you are responsible for what takes place under your roof and allowing the pagan symbol of fertility into your home is opening the door for the wickedness Ezekiel was speaking of.
    Shalom,

      Shalom David,
How brave of you to post your email to Joseph.
I do agree with you and we have three young Jewish men in Babylon who would not bow to pagan practice willing to be thrown in the furnace and they were.
Matthew 5:10-11 and Matthew 10:34-38 says to me that we take no thought for how pagans look upon us and that includes our family when we don’t join them.

        Hi Sonia
The battle is not always won at the first engagement. Christ offends those who understand AND those who do not because he challenges the lies in our lives. He is TRUTH. These people may or may not even believe in Christ who are ‘keeping’ Christmas.
You may be called to be a firebrand by the Father and have a ministry like John the Baptist but also remember he was speaking to a community that was brought up with Torah knowledge and chose to reject it too. Far greater base understanding as a nation.
To undo lies do we condemn the confused or guide them into understanding through example in giving the alternatives of God feasts?
The NT also says to answer those who have questions about the faith YOU have in Christ. These people may not have questions until you gently start moving in a different direction, just as much as if you are a firebrand. That is God’s choice for you to listen to and be obedient as to how it is He wants you to minister to them the truth.
Yes, we are to have fear for our own purity before God and not bow down to idols but that does not allow us to condemn others to death.
Look at Lot he was suffering amongst the sin in Sodom. Patience is part of suffering and is one of the gifts of the Spirit too. Just as not being happy with sin is a gift which our family neighbours and friends and enemies may not have received yet.
Maybe those into Christmas will be more inclined to eventually ask questions if we don’t burn them alive at the stake of our exalted knowledge and give the Spirit of Truth in gentleness time to work as we pray too.
There seems to be a wide gamut of ministry in proclaiming the truth of God. I think it is a false peace to FORCE your beliefs on another. Would this produce a true convert to Christ’s truth?
Even God didn’t do that to the Jews and allowed them to be blinded until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. It is God who opens the eyes of the heart.
        What do you think?
If you use FORCE you are aligning yourself with darkness …………just look at what ‘Christianity did to jews or pagan objectors to Christ in the past.
Only Christ has the right to judge all mankind. We are only to judge those within our community of faith and if you are judging those who are not open to the Hebraic understanding we would perhaps be judging out of our authority.
Christ as head of his household of Apostles had the one who would betray him at the Passover Memorial Table & knew it, but did not stop loving Judas either nor did Christ become like Judas……….Just some thoughts to balance boldness. God has called each person to be in the body in a place operating according to His will. Shalom Sister. Blessings FJ

I make no apologies for reminding people of the seriousness of Ezekiel 33. David, it is your own family. If you do not want to help save of your own flesh and blood then that is your dealings and you will have to answer for the things you do or not do.
As I have said, the result from our work in the Philippines and in Africa are showing that if you find common ground you can get more people to listen to you than to go in condemning them all to hell. I have done this approach and gotten no results other than one once in a while. By using the common ground approach we are seeing entire churches convert to keep the Sabbath and start to keep the Holy Days. This by no means is suggesting we start to keep and practice these false teachings. But it meeting the people where they are with the understanding that they currently have and as Acts says then they can learn the rest of Torah where it is taught in the synagogues.

Greeting everyone .This was a very timely message this week. I’ve discussed this issue of spening time with family during the not so holy holidays of the traditional christian teachings quite often lately and i have to agree that we miss opportunity to witness to our loved ones when we not take time to be with them during meals and family get togethers at this time. I admit it does get challenging seeing there is always an uncle and aunt that buys something regardless of our insistance not to do so.
I was very self rightous about it all in the begining of this walk and also hard on those around me at these times looking back. It took a lot of trials I brought on myself to get a more balanced outlook about this. I not saying I accepted the gifts either. I guess I was lucky to have brethren who were already balanced in this area of their life to learn from. Hard Core Feasts keepers but they advised family time whenever possible. My daughter recently bought me a hat with the Grinch that stole Christmas as a playful poke at my faith to help break tensions for this time of year. We both got a good laugh from it lol. Family the only thing that matters. They are watching us adn we need to not turn away from their love. More so at these times than others.
You think Yehovah will look on us without anything other than judgement if we judge our own families and give up on them. That what the enemy wants to have us do. He knows us and will use our self rightousness. His favorite sin. Our own vanity disguised as rightousness. We are to be wise as serpents but harmless as doves. Doesn’t mean we are falling away or comprizing. We just using our circumstance to draw closer to our loved ones and even those around us.
Yehshsua would of been trying to educate people this time of the year. He wouldn’t be hiding away somewhere. Hard to believe He wouldn’t be out and about. Maybe even at some get together or office staff partry teaching at every opprtunity. Sure others feel differently but that is my opinion on the matter.
This weeks article was short but definately a good peace of meat to digest over this next week. MAYBE MORE in through the holidays. I finished up and went back to the study I been doing on the Arcives and Lesson book section of website. I on 5th tab now ” the Chronological Order of Prophesys” tab . I often wonder if many others realize the vast amounts of information and work been done for all to use and learn from on this part of the website. I sure othes have figured it out but for those who have not please take a look. It has taken weeks to get as far as I have but worth it to read the information in such a controlled manner of subject by subject. My thanks to all involved in putting this up to learn from. I know there are few who not want the atttention but thank you anyway lol. May you all be blessed for the time you gave. I absolutely love it.

The approach in this newsletter works…
I spent many years trying to share my beliefs (which are very similar to those presented here at http://www.sightedmoon.com) to others while living in the “Bible Belt” of the Southeastern United States. Christians in this region of the world are the most passionate, devout, and completely uneducated Christians that I have ever known. My wife, who did not understand or share my beliefs at the time, had many allies both in her family and community to support her rejection of my beliefs. Until we moved out west, my children were enrolled in a private Christian school which strongly and unknowingly taught against my beliefs. Christmas and Easter were especially annoying, as I was an outcast in my own home and community. But, I avoided taking the “angry” approach. Over the years, when Christians would stumble across my path and force me to share my beliefs, I used the gentle approach that Joe recommended in the newsletter above. Although I planted a lot of seeds, and even wrote a book on the subject, I don’t know of any of those Christians that converted.
HOWEVER, my own family did convert. Without me ever getting angry. Although I had to painstakingly prove every detail of what I believe over many years, my family converted from pagan Christianity to Torah based Christianity (I don’t know what “label” to put on it, but I hope you understand what I mean). My wife, who was actually my greatest challenger to my beliefs during those times due to the massive support that she had around her to oppose me, has kept the weekly Sabbath and the other appointed times with me for years. My two sons have grown up strong in the Torah as well, and are very respectable young college aged men of whom I have no worries. They can teach others! Even my mother (who used to show up at my doorstep with several dozen wrapped Christmas gifts each year, along with baskets of candy at Easter as well) turned from her old beliefs and converted to keeping the Torah. When the Sabbatical Year came around, it was not an issue of IF we were going to do it, but HOW (a search/study that actually led me to discover http://www.sightedmoon.com, actually – to show to my family that we were not alone in our beliefs).
Keep in mind that Christ, Himself, ate with the tax collectors and sinners (Matthew 9:10-13, Mark 2:15-16, Luke 5:29-32). I doubt Christ was an angry jerk to them. As you can guess, the religious folks of the day criticized Him for that, too. But, the tax collectors and sinners NEEDED Him. (Side note — the one time that Christ was recorded as being angry, guess who he was actually angry at?)
So, you don’t like being around the whole Christmas thing? I get it… I hate to even type or say “Easter” (yes, I’m a little nerdy and think of Exodus 23:13 which instructs not to speak the name of false gods even though it does not pertain to explaining academic things). I have no doubt that Paul felt the same way when he was in Athens (Acts 17:16-34 starts out by saying that Paul was distressed at seeing the false god stuff), but Paul seemed to be a pretty gentle teacher who was careful with his words and, in the end, “some” of the people in Athens became followers and believed. That’s about all that you can hope for. And, I think that’s kind of what Joe’s point was in this newsletter.
Once again, I’m glad to see the approach given in this newsletter. This newsletter does not “condone” the pagan stuff, but recommends an approach to “dealing” with it.
    ——————————————————————————–
On a related note, I’m going to take this opportunity to promote the Biblical Lesson Books presented on this website. In this newsletter, Joe also recommends engaging in spiritual/religious based conversations. I, personally, was given the opportunity by Joe to contribute to the Lesson Booklets on this website, and I can testify that they were written with the most gentle non-offending approach that one could possibly employ. If you happen to be given the opportunity of being part of a “bible study” type setting with a group of believers, I would encourage you to take advantage of this resource.
You can find multiple Lesson Booklets written by various authors under the collapsible topic headings by clicking “Library” at the top of this page and selecting “Biblical Lesson Booklets” or by going directly to the link below:

    Greetings Sonia,
How trouble-free it is to go along with the crowd and how heart-breaking and stressful it is standing against your family. The scriptures you brought out are telling: “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me” (Mt 10:37). But this is about doing things the hard way or the easy way, the narrow or wide road. But do we have ears to hear the scriptures or do we hear what we like to hear?
Ep 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things (sins vs 5) the wrath of Elohim comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them. 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
2Co 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Messiah with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? 17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says Yahweh. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
Those things are tough to hear and even harder to do.
When Ross writes, “I ain’t afraid of no Christmas tree!” and “Why throw the baby out with the bathwater? Christians are celebrating the birth of our Saviour! They have been misled! But I see no good reason to punish them (or ourselves) for having been lied to! Better to take it as an opportunity, Instead of hating the season.” It worries me when I read what Paul said, “Let no one deceive you with empty words” and what John said, “If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1Jo 2:15).
When others frame this as “judging” or “forcing” or “condemning” or “the angry approach,” how do we answer? FJ said, “that does not allow us to condemn others to death” and “don’t burn them alive at the stake” and “If you use FORCE you are aligning yourself with darkness.” How does a discussion on whether to participate in family xmas activities become so twisted?
I choose to witness to my family at every opportunity during other times of the year but separate myself at xmas and I was surprised when Joseph wrote this, “If you do not want to help save of your own flesh and blood then that is your dealings and you will have to answer for the things you do or not do.”
Re 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
We are in the end of this age which is no time to compromise. Let’s make the choice Moses made and suffer ill treatment than to have sin’s pleasure for a season (Heb 11:25). Paul in his wisdom said, “Evil company corrupts good habits” (1Co 15:33) and that’s why we are to “come out from among them and be separate.” It truly comes down to how much you love the truth and if it’s not a strong, lasting love this world will erode it and without you even noticing it’ll slip away from you.
2Th 2:10 They did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason Elohim will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
Mt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Thanks for your timely words of scripture. Let the sword of the word do its work. I was using hyperbole with the burning etc. because some have horrible disagreements & arguments about this emotional subject when they do not know the scriptures and feel persecuted by a doctrine they have not come across before and actually believe Christmas is ‘kosher’.
The discovery they have been living a lie is not a one sentence all is finished event & a lot of chewing happens for the weak in faith to overcome the pressure of the world & the flesh tempted by Satan to cave into pressure in this area of their faith.
Most of us suffer as we don’t have the Spirit of God in a mature way of witnessing this truth to them in love. The paradigm shift is perhaps a little different too in that the scriptures you use speak about things that are obviously pagan but Christmas has been packaged very craftily for some generations and so many are not convinced until they test it out and that can be process and not immediate compliance with what we understand and some who were never on the path seeking truth don’t actually care any ways.
There are ways that say the truth of God in love but it will create division on any day of the year & we can but hope that the division will cause reflection at some point.
Of course we are not to walk as Babylon ourselves but nor do we need to fear any one but God.
I don’t attend or participate in any Xmas functions as my understanding is that it is idolatry but I still have association with those who do as I live in the world and have hope. Does it mean you love your father and mother more if you visit with family and don’t partake of Xmas stuff, I don’t know. It is a time when a lot of us have no work and Each of us has to test our conscience against scripture as to what is offered to idols in this and if we are partaking. Peaceable fruit does not actually mean we maintain the status quo of accepting the lie and not addressing it. Each person has the battle to discern when, where & how to draw the line. I think God is gentle in bringing his children back into truth and all the opposition from families is part of learning how to stand faithfully in gentleness.
I have an Xmas avoidance plan myself, now, which has me end up travelling interstate to arrive late on that day and miss out : ) and as my elderly father has a birthday 2 days later and no-one wants me to work as they are ‘doing xmas I have opportunity to honour my parents in hope they will see the good things Faith has done in me and slowly the doors to talk more about God are opening but only God knows when and if they will receive salvation.

Brother Joe, (is that okay ? or do you prefer Joseph?)
I really appreciate the advice you gave in this newsletter. I know from prior contact that we both have dealt with similar circumstances. I’m sure you’ve noticed that all of us “Hebrew Roots-ers” go through similar things. We start out shocked, excited and thankful for all that Yehovah has shown us. But then, many of us get puffed up and are critical of the “others” who don’t do as we do. We also have to try to deal with family and friends who want nothing to do with our new ways. Your advice is good. It is hard to implement sometimes, but the best is just to “shut up” if not asked.
I won’t go into detail, but I have had to deal with similar “issues” surrounding this time of year. I also have agreed to join my wife’s family (mine is on the other side of the country) and we eat dinner and visit together. They do open presents, but there is almost no discussion of why any of this is done. They have heard over the past what I believe, but I don’t make any waves, and we just have a nice time together. I know it makes it easier for my wife and there is no stress that way.
Now, if I could, I’d like to pose a question for you and anyone on your site who might want to chime in with their two cents.
The question requires a little bit of background. It pertains to Ezekiel’s Vision of the Temple in chapters 40-48 of his book. It contains great detail for building this Temple, but so far, it has never been built. I happen to believe it will be the Temple that Messiah Yeshua will build for use in His Millennial Kingdom and that He is the “Prince” that is mentioned in these chapters.
This came up recently in a lengthy discussion I got in with a couple of Christians (that is non-Torah believers) over the idea that the Law is done away because Jesus’ sacrifice was Once and For ALL! They pointed out the many familiar New Testament verses that we have all had to deal with. I pointed to many places where the John, Paul, Yeshua (of course) and other apostles agreed that we are to “keep the commandments of God”. They refused to accept any of that, but I kept things respectful.
I then somehow brought up this Temple of Ezekiel’s vision. When I explained that it will be the Temple in use when Yeshua reigns on earth for his 1000-year Millennial kingdom; and that there will indeed be sacrifices going on by actual priests. I thought that was a great example of how things are Not done away or were just “on hold”. Not surprisingly, they were not moved an inch, but I got a couple different reasons why.
    1. Some believed this will NOT be Messiah’s Temple, because the Law is done away and He would NOT have anything to do with sacrifices!
    2. Some believed this WILL be His Temple, but somehow reasoned that the sacrifices WON’T be done, because again, the Law is done away.
Yes, I point out the places where Yeshua said the Law will NOT pass away – UNTIL heaven and earth pass away, but the read that differently. They believe Yeshua fulfilled all the Law and the Prophets already, so now the Law can pass away.
I was a little frustrated at these responses, but also realized I can’t PROVE beyond a shadow of a doubt that this WILL BE the Temple of the Millennial Kingdom. I’m still working on it but thought you might have some insight. I have no doubt that it will be, but my hope is to make it clear to those who doubt it.
** I ran this question by Joseph first, and he suggested I add it in the comment section in the hope that others will respond, too.
Thank you and Yehovah bless you all.
    Gregg

Paul continued to make sacrifices after Yehoshua’s death, burial and resurrection (Act 21:26).
Sacrifices will continue in the 7th Mill. because Satan is not yet finished (Rev 20:3).
There are specific measurements for a literal slaughter-place (Eze 43:13-17) and sacrifices will continue after Yehoshua’s death:
And He said to me, “Son of man, thus said the Master Yehovah, ‘These are the laws for the slaughter-place on the day when it is made, for offering ascending offerings on it, and for sprinkling blood on it (Eze 43:18).
Sacrifices will no longer continue in the 8th Mill. when Yehovah reigns (Rev 21:22).

Hi Joseph … i am intently (yet only at the beginning of the journey) trying to discern whether the Almighty and Omniscient YHWH would have needed 2 covenants when He could see the end from the beginning. Your life’s research (or at least the last 15 years) has certainly convinced you that we are to keep the Sabbath(s) as they are part of the Law. Yet Hebrews 8:6-13 is pretty compelling by Paul. Is the Anglicized translation of our Bible’s at fault re: talk of a New Covenant vs perhaps a renewed Covenant? I want to worship correctly and not go down a legalistic path … but i’m in such a mental wrestling match on this. I am so thankful for your ministry! James

Shalom James, we all wrestle with the word. Do not give up.
Here is what Heb 10:26 says. For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?
