Shabbat Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,
The Wheat is Ready. With just one week to go for Shavuot, the wheat is now ready and this is despite all the rain and snow that has come, which some are saying is proof they are right. Please see our report in the section titled Three Months Too Late.
I want to invite you all to follow me on Telegram. Just click this link. Since I was removed from Facebook, I have been looking for a way to get my message out. Trying to fit it all into one email is going to be challenging to read. I can post notices on Telegram and you will be able to share them with your own people.
Speaking Tours
I am adding a new line to the sign up forms so that you can add your state or province which you live in.
I am doing this because some are asking for fellowship in certain states. If I have this information I can send an email out to all those just in that one state or province if they would like to meet. Up until now we only wanted to know what country you are in. I will leave the state as optional.
I am also offering to come to various countries and speak. This way I can let all those in that state or country know when I would be meeting and where in their area.
So if you want to know these things then please fill in your state or province on the sign up form for the News letter. https://sightedmoon.org/newsletter-signup55469575
It is my hope to be able to speak in London England, Netherland, France, Switzerland, the Philippines and South Africa. And it is my hope to do so this summer before the abomination is set up.
We will be in Hong Kong May 16-17 and then in Manila Phillippines from May 18 to June 14. Let us know if your interested in joining us.
Here is what I need from those of you who want me to come. I need a hall with a minimum of 12 foot ceiling so I can put up our banner. It is 11 feet tall and 20 feet wide. I need a minimum of 50 people. I need someone local to host me. That is, organize and set up the event and take care of all the details for the event and take care of me from the time I get off the plane until I get back on it again.
If you want me to present this to your group then time is fast running out. Organize it ASAP and make it happen.
Today is the 42nd Day
This now means we are just one week away from Shavuot.
Today is the seventh day of the sixth week of seven weeks, the forty-second day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath. Today is Sabbath, the sixth Sabbath of seven Sabbaths. Today completes the sixth week of seven weeks.

The Shmita Year of 2023
We are just 0ne week away from Shavuot and we have now begun the 3rd month. It is time to take stock of your food supplies. Is everything going according to plan?
I have now fasted for about 7 days and reduced my food intake to the absolute bare minimum. I have also eaten one meal a day for two weeks. I am looking at my food stocks and wondering.
Why am I doing this? I am trying to find a way no matter what problems are placed in front of me to obey Yehovah. So now I am pretending to be someone who does not have enough food. So I am fasting to see if that will help.
Brethren find a way to obey. Stop finding excuses why you can’t do this or that.
If you just discovered this was the Shmita year, then stock up now for the remainder of the year. Don’t plant or harvest this year. Obey Yehovah.
The Shmita Year of 2023
Aviv 1 on February 21/22 2023 began the 7th Year of Rest. You can prove this by understanding that 2 King 19:29 spoke about a 49th and 50th-year land rest. Knowing this was 701 and 700 BC, you can then count by 7 or 49 and land on every Sabbatical year or every Jubilee in history. All of our proof’s line up with this understanding.
We want to encourage you to watch and share this video of our teaching at GLC about the Sabbatical Year.
In this Sabbatical year you are:
- Not to Plant
- Not to Harvest
- Stock up on Food in the 6th year
- Forgive Debts
- Read the Torah Out Loud on the 1st day of Sukkot.
These are the basic rules that you are to keep in order to be blessed by Yehovah. As of this writing March 11, 2023, it is not too late to begin to stock up now for the year.
There are 365 days in the year. Let’s just say there are 400 days, in case there is an Adar Bet next year. You can buy 400 Cans of Soup to have one meal of soup each day during the year. One can of soup costs about $2, so for $800 you have a year’s supply of soup. But if you are not going to eat soup every day then take out half and buy canned beans, vegetables and fruits.
You must de-leaven your homes so do not buy anything that has leaven in it until after the last day of Unleavened Bread which is March 14, 2023.
You can do this. Do not say you can’t do this. Find the will to find a way to get this done. Find excuses as to why you will obey. We are coming into the 5th curse over the next 7 years. That curse is famine and it will be so bad that people will eat their own children. So stock up on food now so you can obey Yehovah. And extra food will be a welcome blessing later.
I went out and in the past week I have spent just over $1000, and I have now stocked up about 3/4 of a year’s worth of meals. I will do the rest after Passover and the days of Unleavened bread are over. I have entered everything into my excel program to count each meal. Brethren, this is not that hard to do. What it takes is the willpower to do it: that and a little planning. You can buy meat throughout the year. It is not a ban on meat. You can also eat anything that grows of itself during the year. But do not plan on living off of those things that come from the ground. It they fail then you have no food. Stock up now, and if something grows, they are a bonus, but they are also free game for the neighbours and the animals. So they might eat it before you do. Plan ahead and stock up now. You still have time to get it done.
I received this email this week and want to share it and answer it with you all.
Message: Hello Joseph
I was wondering – are we allowed to still buy “old stock” from the store up to 22 Feb 2023? Most products have Production dates and Sell by dates on them. I am staying away from fresh vegetables and fruit but if I can see on a canned item or on frozen vegetables that the Production date in well outside of the beginning of the Shmita year, I am allowed to buy it?
As you might know, we (South Africa) are sometimes without power for up to 8 hours, sometimes more, a day. I therefore did not invest in an extra freezer or fridge for we are expecting the collapse of the grid any day and all those frozen things will have to be thrown away. I have stocked up for the Shmita year, but still have this impression on my spirit that I have to keep doing it for as long as I can – especially canned goods.
Personally I do not see why I can’t, because it is old stock. Nowhere do I read in the Torah that you are not allowed to buy the old stock in the Shmita year (provided of course that you can find a Production date on the can/container that is well outside the beginning of our Shmita year. But, my understanding of it may be wrong, so I would really appreciate your input.
Shalom
Melanie

As I always do here is my standard answer as to what you are to do during the Sabbatical year.
- Not to Plant
- Not to Harvest
- Stock up on Food in the 6th year
- Forgive Debts
- Read the Torah Out Loud on the 1st day of Sukkot.
Each person is different. Each person has a different culture they live in. Some do not have electric power. Some are called and discover this information and the sabbatical year has already begun. Yehovah has called each of us from the walk we are in. Different races, different problems. But He HAS called you to begin NOW to obey. So, start to obey from that point on with all your might and all your ability. But Start!!!
Joe Dumond Rules
In answer to Melanie, these are now what I do. They are not written in Torah. This would come under Joe Dumond rules, which must be changed when found to be out of alignment with Yehovah’s Laws. Each of you will develop you own rules for you and your family. I might not agree with them but so long as we are all keeping the 5 rules of the Shmita year then do not judge others who are trying to obey. Let Yehovah judge them. Let Yehovah bless them according to what they do right and what they do wrong. But do not let us go around attacking each other, and especially those who are trying.
I have stocked up my food for the upcoming year. Here in Ontario Canada, I am going to use Shavuot as another one of my bench marks. I will explain in a moment.
Here in Ontario, I will continue to buy and eat apples that were grown in Ontario up until about Shavuot 2023. This means any apples marked as product of Ontario would have been grown and harvested in 2022. New Apples will not be available from Ontario until some time in the summer of 2023. So my cut off date will be Shavuot 2023. Potatoes grown here in Canada either from Ontario or Prince Edward Island, the main place potatoes are grown in Canada will not come on the market until about August. Again, I can use last years stocks up until my cut off date of Shavuot 2023.
Here in Ontario, our lettuce and most fresh fruit and vegetables comes from around the world and take about 7 days to go from being picked to the store. So for me, as of Passover 2023, I will not be eating any fresh greens from the stores. I will eat only what I have already bought before that date which is now passed. Most canned fruits and vegetables are from last years harvest. So canned goods I will continue to stock up on. I believe I will finish this the week after the Days of Unleavened Bread. I know there is no yeast in them, but I have had many problems to resolve with my wife about storing food here in the apartment, which is forcing me to be very precise in all I do.
Now if I am going to use Shavuot as my cut off date for those things grown here in Ontario, then next year when the Sabbatical Year ends at Aviv in 2024, then I also will continue to not eat those things grown in Ontario, until they come into season here locally. For example, I will wait until August before eating Apples again. I will wait until August before I eat new potatoes.
After Aviv 1 in 2024, when fresh strawberries begin to arrive on the store shelves in Ontario I will wait until around the 1st of the second month before I eat them. I am doing this because the shelve life is about a week or two. So if I wait until the 1st of the 2nd month, then those fresh products will have been harvested in 2024 after Aviv, when we can then again harvest. In the past I have waited and to set the date at Shavuot.
Here is an example from the Bible you need to understand and once you do then can decide what to do for yourself. It is upon this understanding that I set the date for myself of Shavuot.
Lev 25:20 And if you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow nor gather in our increase!
Lev 25:21 Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.
Lev 25:22 And you shall sow the eighth year, and eat of old fruit until the ninth year; until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old fruit.
The Barley was sown around Sukkot in the fall. It is harvested after Passover. In a Sabbatical year you could not harvest the barley in the Sabbatical Year. You would not be able to plant in the Sabbatical year in the fall. This then meant you would not have a barley crop the year after the Sabbatical year at Passover. This is now the 8th year. In the fall around Sukkkot in the 8th year, you could plant but would not be able to harvest until Passover in the 9th year.
What ever the crop or food you are desiring to plant or harvest, in what ever part of the world you you live in, you must plant and harvest according to the Sabbatical Year rules from Aviv to Aviv.
So each person must figure out when Strawberries are planted and harvested according to this understanding. When Potatoes are planted according to this understanding. Our society does not obey Yehovah. So each of us must read the labels and decide if this is kosher or not. To this day, I do not drink any wine harvested in the year 2016 or 2009 both Sabbatical years I have kept.
We all must obey. Do the best you can and pray Yehovah helps you to understand and to be able to obey.
If you want to use aquaponics or soilless planting then you must decide if this is kosher or not. I am not going to come up with an entire Targum or set of Tamudic do’s and don’ts. Read the rules or read Lev 25 and then you decide. You are called to be a King and Priest in the Kingdom of Yehovah. As a King and Preist you must uphold the Law of Yehovah and enforce it. As a King or Priest in the Kingdom, is what you are going to do, upholding those laws? Is what you are going to do pleasing to Yehovah? You must decide. I am not your judge.
Php 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, cultivate your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Php 2:13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
Php 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings,
Php 2:15 so that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. Among these you shine as lights in the world,
Php 2:16 holding forth the Word of Life, so that I may rejoice with you in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain nor labored in vain.
Some are asking how to do you travel? When you go to someones home what do you do? YOU can assume that those people are obeying Yehovah and you eat. Or you can pull out your own food from your purse and eat it in front of them. Again I am not your judge. You must decide what to do.
Joshua crossed the Jordan in the 50th year. He did not plant anything the year before or this year. And yet he ate everything they captured from the cities of the Caananites. They did not obey Yehovah. Joshua ate their food.
There is not commandment telling you you cannot eat. I have given you Joe Dumond rules above. They are not Yehovah’s rules. You must decide what you are going to do.
Three Months Too Late
Two months ago we declared the Barley to be Aviv. We sent Randy Cates there to assist Becca and to be another witness to the Barley being Aviv.
All the nay-sayers came out in droves condemning us once again. We kept Passover March 8, 2022. Then Devorah began to waffle in how she was reporting to the point where Michael Rood and Arthur Bailey have broken from her reports to keep Passover this past week on March 22nd. Even Nehemia and Keith were to my knowledge low keyed about Passover this year. Devorah is saying the barley is not Aviv and will keep Passover next month on May 4th or 5th. We have updated all of Devorah’s reports in our Newsletter YOU WILL BE A JUDGE! DO YOU KNOW HOW TO JUDGE?
And here now is a follow-up report created before the 2nd Passover on March 22. The barley we showed you last month is gone. It is shattered and reseeded itself. There is nothing left there to make a wave offering on March 26 if we had to.
Any doubts I may have had are now 100% put at ease. We are indeed in sync with Yehovah’s timing.
Thank you Becca once again for following up on the field to show the world it was indeed Aviv last month and now there is nothing left.
One of the takanots that have been put forward is that you cannot harvest the barley if it is still raining. After we kept Passover on March 8, there was more rain. That would seem to justify those who kept Passover on March 22, which was the majority. But now we even have the JP reporting of heavy snow in the north and flooding in the south on April 12, 2023. This does not change the fact the barley we reported has reseeded itself. Those keeping Passover in May will be two months too late.
Roads blocked in South as floods, heavy rains surprise Israel
Mount Hermon closed to visitors due to heavy snowfall • Highway 90 closed off, Health Ministry issues warning against bathing in Tel Aviv beaches
Here is anotehr Jerusalem Post fro APril 13, 20223 https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-739144
Why is it hailing in Israel in April?
“Everyone is talking about democracy, but we must react to the climate change crisis,” said Professor Hadas Saaroni.
He said that Israel and the rest of the region – Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait and Iraq – have all been experiencing increased bouts of heavy rain and major floods, which “might be connected to a trend that is predicted to appear in a warming world.
With all the bad weather in Israel, you will be told it is not possible for the farmers to harvest. Whether that is true or not is irrelevant. Because as you are about to witness, the wheat is ready to be harvested. And this is one week before we keep Shavuot. How can people still deny the Barley was Aviv in March? We now have wheat ready to harvest just before Shavuot. Do any of these other groups search for wheat? Have you asked them? And if Michael Arthur and others are not trusting Devorah for her barley reports, then who are they going to listen to next year?
Once again you get to judge if the wheat is now ready to be harvested in time for Shavuot. You judge. Are we keeping the Holy Days at the right time?

THE SABBATH 101
The Sabbath 101
I have been asked a number of times for the basics of keeping Torah. I have told those asking where to look but still more come and they are overwhelmed by the amount of articles, videos and books to go through. I never set out for it to be like that. But we have been posting a weekly newsletter since 2005. That is about 938 newsletters which have been viewed 9,701,688 times. We have written 8 books selling 5,439 copies as of this week. We have created about 552 videos, which have had 2,778,234 views as of today.
Just looking at these numbers tells me we are doing something right. And at the same time we continue to dive deeper into the things we are teaching. But for the new people it can be over whelming.
I had the great opportunity to visit Batman, Bat-woman and Alfred, and I even stayed in the Bat-cave. Batman has compiled a number of teachings that are geared for the new person and those just starting out in this walk. He also put together three of the books we now offer at Sightedmoon. I want to make all of these available for you to take advantage of, but you can’t tell Batman.
Here is the video section.
You can order one of two books. Scripture Lessons for the Kingdom & More Scripture Lessons for the Kingdom
Scripture Lessons for the Kingdom is exactly that, short lessons for those new to Torah. We have taken many of the lessons from the website and condensed them down into one to two-page lessons. While these do not cover everything, they will cover the basics and give you a good starting place for your journey into the Word of YHVH. We hope you enjoy this book and look forward to hearing back from you and your stories about this journey.
AND
We also have a third book about the covenant titled I Do. It is an e-book only format.
The servants of the groom are announcing the wedding, but will the bride prepare herself properly to say “I do”? I do is a short book that both teaches and challenges one who has accepted the betrothal to the Lamb to do that which will prepare them for that great day when the groom arrives.
TORAH PORTIONS
Torah Portions
We read through the entire Torah along with the Prophets and the New Testament, once over the course of 3 1/2 years. Or according to the Sabbatical Cycle which means we read it all twice over a 7 year period. This allows us to cover more in-depth rather than being rushed to cover as much as is covered on an annual basis. We allow all to comment and take part in the discussions.
Septennial Torah Portion
If you go to Torah Portion at our archived section, you can then go to the 7th year which is the 7th year of the Sabbatical Cycle, the one we are in now, as we state at the top of every News Letter. There you can scroll down to the proper date, and see that this Shabbat we could very well be midrashing about:
Numbers 22
Ruth 1-4
Romans 16
If you missed last week’s exciting discoveries as we studied that section you can go and watch past Shabbats on our media section.
SABBATH MEETINGS
Sabbath Meetings
There are many people in need of fellowship and who are sitting at home on the Sabbath with no one to talk to or debate with. I want to encourage all of you to join us on Shabbat, and to invite others to come and join us as well. If the time is not convenient then you can listen to the teaching and the midrash after on our YouTube channel.
What are we doing and why do we teach this way?
We are going to discuss both sides of an issue and then let you choose. It is the work of the Ruach (Spirit) to direct and to teach you.
The medieval commentator Rashi wrote that the Hebrew word for wrestle (avek) implies that Jacob was “tied”, for the same word is used to describe knotted fringes in a Jewish prayer shawl, the tzitzityot. Rashi says, “thus is the manner of two people who struggle to overthrow each other, that one embraces the other and knots him with his arms”.
Our intellectual wrestling has been replaced by a different kind of struggle. We are Wrestling with Yehovah as we grapple with His Word. It is an intimate act, symbolizing a relationship in which Yehovah and I and you are bound together. My wrestling is a struggle to discover what Yehovah expects of us, and we are “tied” to the One who assists us in that struggle.
Today, many say Israel means “Champion of God”, or better — the “Wrestler of God”.
Our Torah sessions each Shabbat teaches you and encourages you to constantly challenge, question, argue against, as well as view alternative views and explanations of the Word. In other words, we are to “wrestle with the Word” to get to the truth. Jews worldwide believe that you need to wrestle with the Word and constantly challenge Dogma, Theology, and views or else you will never get to the Truth.
We are not like most churches where “The preacher talks and everyone listens.” We encourage everyone to participate, to question and to contribute what they know on the subject being discussed. We want you to be a champion wrestler of the Word of Yehovah. We want you to wear the title of Israel, knowing that you not only know but are capable of explaining why you know the Torah to be true with logic and facts.
We have a few rules though. Let others talk and listen. There is no discussion about UFO’s Nephilim, Vaccines or conspiracy-type subjects. We have people from around the world with different world views. Not everyone cares who is the President of any particular country. Treat each other with respect as Fellow wrestlers of the word. Some of our subjects are hard to understand and require you to be mature and if you do not know, then listen to gain knowledge and understanding and hopefully wisdom. The very things you are commanded to ask Yehovah for and He gives to those who ask.
Jas 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.
We hope you can invite those who want to keep Torah to come and join us by hitting the link below. It is almost like a Torah teaching fellowship talk show with people from around the world taking part and sharing their insights and understandings.
We start off with some music and then some prayers and it’s as though you were sitting around the kitchen back in Newfoundland having a cup of coffee and all of us enjoying each other’s company. I hope you will grace us with your company someday.
Sabbath services begin at 12:30 PM EDT where we will be doing prayers songs and teaching from this hour.
Shabbat Services will begin at about 1:15 pm Eastern.
On the Holy Day, The Last day of Unleavened Bread, we will be having two meetings. One at 10 AM Eastern and the afternoon will be 2 PM Eastern. Look forward to seeing you all there.
We look forward to you joining our family and getting to know us as we get to know you.
Joseph Dumond is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Counting the Omer
Counting the Omer
Someone is surely going to ask you or say it publicly, where are we commanded to count the omer?
When you are asked this then you will take them to Lev 23:15
“You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of new grain to the Lord.
Lev 23:15 And ye shall count H5608 unto you from the morrow H4480 H4283 after the sabbath, H7676 from the day H4480 H3117 that ye brought H935(H853) the sheaf H6016 of the wave offering; H8573 seven H7651 sabbaths H7676 shall be H1961 complete: H8549
Counting is the word Saphar or H5608 omer is the word for sheaf or H6016.
This mitzvah (“commandment”) derives from the Torah commandment to count forty-nine days beginning from the day on which the Omer, a sacrifice containing an omer-measure of barley, was offered in the Temple in Jerusalem, up until the day before an offering of wheat was brought to the Temple on Shavuot. The Counting of the Omer begins on the morrow after the weekly Shabbat during Passover, and ends the day before the holiday of Shavuot, the ‘fiftieth day.’
Here you are told that there are different methods of counting the 50 days. The first was to count 7 full weeks and the second was to count out the full 50 days.
Again in Deut 16:9 you are told to again COUNT. It is a commandment to count the days and or weeks. And you start from the time when the sickle is first put to the Barley grain which was done after sunset after the weekly Saturday Sabbath. This counting began with Wave Sheaf Day.
“You shall count seven weeks. Begin to count the seven weeks from the time the sickle is first put to the standing grain.
According to some the commandment ‘and you shall count for yourselves fifty days’ means to simply observe the 50th day as Shavuot while others actually declare out loud the number on each of the fifty days. A medieval Karaite Jewish practice combines two different methods of declaring the daily count. The first method is the counting of seven weeks. Each day, the number of the week and the number of the day in the week are declared. So for example, the first day is ‘first day of the first week’. The second counting method used is an overall number for each day. In this method Day one is ‘the first day’ and Day 25 is ‘the twenty-fifth day’. These two methods are used to satisfy the commandment to count seven weeks (Deuteronomy 16:9) as well as the commandment to count fifty days (Leviticus 23:16).
During each one of these days of Counting the Omer to Pentecost, Jewish tradition has developed around reading the Psalms on certain days. I find this to be very beneficial. It is customary that following the “Counting of the Omer,” one recites Psalm 67, for according to tradition, that Psalm has forty-nine words, which corresponds perfectly to the forty-nine days of the “Counting of the Omer.”
And as you meditate on and do these readings, which includes the Counting of the Omer command, keep in mind what this symbolizes. It is the counting of the Sabbatical and Jubilee Years and where we are in that cycle. We are in the twenty-eighth year in 2023, which corresponds to the twenty-eighth day of the “Counting of the Omer.”
Wave Sheaf day is so exciting to understand and so amazing to believe because it forebodes the time when we will be changed and raised up. If you want to call this the Rapture then I can except that if you are obeying Yehovah. If you’re not obeying Yehovah and you think the laws are done away with, then you will not be in this resurrection or raptured. You will be told to be gone you workers of lawlessness, I never knew you.

We will speak more about this as Pentecost draws closer. The Feast of Oaths, the 8th day and the Jubilee year. Think about how they are all connected to each other.
When you count from the Wave offering of the barley to Pentecost it is called the counting of the Omer. You are to count each day up to the 50th day. This Sunday, March 12, 2023, is day one. We are to count the Omer.
As I said, this is the most special time of year for me and in years past I couldn’t put my finger on exactly why, other than it had something to do with Yehshua’s resurrection and waiting in anticipation for Shavuot. While I cannot put into words how my understanding of this has grown, all I can say is that “it clicked!” and “now I get it!”, at least more than before. Understanding follows obedience. So OBEY and learn. You learn by doing as we are told in James.
James 2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

Day Thirty-One | Yehovah & His People (Part II) Psalm 78:17-31
Psa 78:17 Yet they sinned still more against Him To rebel against the Most High in the desert.
Psa 78:18 And they tried ?l in their heart By asking food according to their desire.
Psa 78:19 And they spoke against Elohim. They said, “Is ?l able to set a table in the wilderness?
Psa 78:20 “Look, He struck the rock, So that the waters gushed out, And the streams overflowed. Is He able to give bread also? Would He provide meat for His people?”
Psa 78:21 Therefore Yehovah heard, and He was wroth; So a fire was kindled against Ya?aqo?, And displeasure also came up against Yisrael?
Psa 78:22 Because they did not believe in Elohim, Neither did they trust in His deliverance.
Psa 78:23 Yet He had commanded the clouds above, And opened the doors of the heavens,
Psa 78:24 And He rained down manna on them to eat, And He gave them the grain of the heavens.
Psa 78:25 Men ate bread of the mighty; He sent them provisions to satisfaction.
Psa 78:26 He made an east wind blow in the heavens; And by His power He brought in the south wind.
Psa 78:27 And He rained meat on them like the dust, And winged birds like the sand of the seas,
Psa 78:28 And let them fall in the midst of His camp, All around His Dwelling Place.
Psa 78:29 So they ate and were completely satisfied, For He brought them what they desired.
Psa 78:30 They had not turned away from their desire, Their food was still in their mouths,
Psa 78:31 When the wrath of Elohim came against them, And He killed among their fat ones, And He struck down the choice ones of Yisra’?l.

Day Thirty-Two | Yehovah & His People (Part III) Psalm 78:32-39
Psa 78:32 In spite of all this they still sinned, And did not believe in His wonders.
Psa 78:33 So He ended their days in a breath, And their years in trouble.
Psa 78:34 When He killed them, then they sought Him, And they returned and did earnestly seek ?l.
Psa 78:35 And they remembered that Elohim was their rock, And the Most High ?l their redeemer.
Psa 78:36 But they flattered Him with their mouth, And they lied to Him with their tongue,
Psa 78:37 For their heart was not steadfast with Him, And they were not true to His covenant.
Psa 78:38 But He, the Compassionate One, Pardoned crookedness, And did not destroy them. And many a time He turned His displeasure away, And did not stir up all His wrath.
Psa 78:39 For He remembered that they were but flesh, A passing breath that does not return.

Day Thirty-Three | Yehovah & His People (Part IV) | Psalm 78:40-55
Psa 78:40 How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness, And grieved Him in the desert!
Psa 78:41 And again and again they tried ?l, And provoked the Set-apart One of Yisra’?l.
Psa 78:42 They did not remember His hand, The day when He redeemed them from the adversary,
Psa 78:43 How He worked His signs in Mitsrayim, And His wonders in the field of Tso?an.
Psa 78:44 He turned their rivers into blood, And they could not drink their streams.
Psa 78:45 He sent among them swarms of flies which devoured them, And frogs which destroyed them,
Psa 78:46 And gave their crops to the caterpillar, And their labour to the locust.
Psa 78:47 He destroyed their vines with hail, And their sycamore trees with frost,
Psa 78:48 And gave their beasts over to the hail, And their livestock to bolts of fire.
Psa 78:49 He sent on them the burning of His displeasure, Wrath, and rage, and distress, A deputation of messengers of evils.
Psa 78:50 He made a path for His displeasure; He did not spare their being from death, But gave their life over to the plague.
Psa 78:51 And He struck all the first-born in Mitsrayim, The first-fruits of strength in the tents of ?am,
Psa 78:52 Then made His own people go forth like sheep, And led them in the wilderness like a flock.
Psa 78:53 And He led them on safely, And they did not fear, But the sea covered their enemies.
Psa 78:54 And He brought them to the border of His set-apart place, This mountain which His right hand had gained,
Psa 78:55 And drove out nations before them, And allotted them a measured inheritance, And made the tribes of Yisra’?l dwell in their tents.

Psa 78:56 Yet they tried and rebelled Against the Most High Elohim, And did not guard His witnesses,
Psa 78:57 But they turned back And acted treacherously like their fathers; They twisted like a treacherous bow.
Psa 78:58 For they enraged Him with their high places, And moved Him to jealousy with their carved images.
Psa 78:59 When Elohim heard this, He was wroth, And greatly despised Yisra’el,
Psa 78:60 And He left the Dwelling Place of Shiloh, The Tent which He had set up among men.
Psa 78:61 And He gave His strength into captivity, And His comeliness into the hand of the adversary.
Psa 78:62 And He gave His people over to the sword, And He was wroth with His inheritance.
Psa 78:63 His young men were consumed by fire, And His maidens were not praised.
Psa 78:64 His priests fell by the sword, And their widows could not weep.
Psa 78:65 Then Yehovah awoke as one asleep, As a mighty man who shouts because of wine.
Psa 78:66 And He struck His adversaries backward, He put them to an everlasting reproach.
Psa 78:67 Then He rejected the tent of Yoseph, And did not choose the tribe of Ephrayim,
Psa 78:68 But chose the tribe of Yehudah, Mount Tsiyon, which He loved.
Psa 78:69 And He built His set-apart place like the heights, Like the earth He founded it forever.
Psa 78:70 And He chose Dawi? His servant, And took him from the sheepfolds;
Psa 78:71 He brought him in from tending the ewes, To shepherd Yacaqob His people, And Yisra’?l His inheritance.

The 40th Day-Ascension Day
The 40th Day-Ascension Day
This is the 40th day of Counting the Omer. It is the same day Yehshua ascended to heaven, with just 10 Days until the Holy Spirit was given on Shavuot. Today is Thursday, April 20, 2023, as I write this. I had posted the 40th Omer count last night and I had a couple of comments, or questions this past week, about the day Yehshua ascended up to heaven. But I did not give them much thought then.
Today is the fifth day of the sixth week of seven weeks, the fortieth day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.
Psa 67:1 Elohim does favour us and bless us, Cause His face to shine upon us. Selah.
Psa 67:2 For Your way to be known on earth, Your deliverance among all nations.
Psa 67:3 Let the peoples praise You, O Elohim, Let all the peoples praise You.
Psa 67:4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You judge the peoples uprightly, And lead the nations on earth. Selah.
Psa 67:5 Let the peoples praise You, O Elohim; Let all the peoples praise You.
Psa 67:6 The earth shall give her increase; Elohim, our own Elohim, blesses us!
Psa 67:7 Elohim blesses us! And all the ends of the earth fear Him!Day Forty | Yehovah, the Supreme King Psalm 99:1-9
Psa 99:1 Jehovah reigns; let the peoples tremble. He sits between the cherubs; let the earth quake.
Psa 99:2 Jehovah is great in Zion; and He is high above all the peoples.
Psa 99:3 Let them praise Your great and fearful name; it is holy.
Psa 99:4 The king’s strength also loved judgment; You established uprightness; You worked judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
Psa 99:5 Praise Jehovah our God, and worship at His footstool; He is holy.
Psa 99:6 Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel among those who called on His name; they called on Jehovah, and He answered them.
Psa 99:7 He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; they kept His testimonies and the ordinance that He gave them.
Psa 99:8 You answered them, O Jehovah our God; You were a God who forgave them, though You take vengeance for their deeds.
Psa 99:9 Praise Jehovah our God, and worship at His holy hill; for Jehovah our God is holy.
After I posted this, I then posted the account in Acts of Yehshua’s Ascension. I was not really thinking about it. Just that it took place on this same 40th day of counting the Omer. Then as I fell asleep, I began to think about it. And this morning, when I woke up, my mind was racing the more I thought about it.
We fully expect the fulfilment of Shavuot to take place on Shavuot in the year 2033. This understanding comes from understanding Wave Sheaf Day during the Days of Unleavened Bread, as well as understanding Shmenini Atzeret and the meaning of the Jubilee Year.
2033 is the year that matches up with the Days of Noah year and the days of Lot year, as well as 2033 being the year that lines up with the fall Holy Days when laid out as years counting from 2045, the Jubilee year, as the 8th Day, Shemini Atzeret. Yes, I understand I am going fast with this explanation. Keep studying.
I continue to state, that in order to understand end-time prophecy, you MUST UNDERSTAND the Jubilee Cycles. The Sabbatical and Jubilee Cycles are the Key to understanding all end-time prophecies.
Ezekiel tells us a day for a year. 2024 is ten years before 2033 when the Saints will be raised on the day of Shavuot. 2024 is the first year in the 10 Days of Awe, the 10 days of Judgment, which are 10 years. Nimrod was judged in both the upper and lower courts of Egypt by Shem before being found guilty and then torn apart as his punishment and his body parts were sent to the leading cities of the world at that time as a warning that if they continued to follow Nimrods teachings, the same would happen to them.
This period of judgment begins at Aviv in 2024.
What will we see in 2024?
Let’s read Acts to learn about the day Yehshua left.
Act 1:1 Truly, O Theophilus, I made the first report as to all things that Jesus began both to do and teach
Act 1:2 until the day He was taken up, having given directions to the apostles whom He chose, through the Holy Spirit;
Act 1:3 to whom He also presented Himself living after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
Act 1:4 And having met with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father which you heard from Me.
Act 1:5 For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.The Ascension
Act 1:6 Then, indeed, these coming together, they asked Him, saying, Lord, do You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?
Act 1:7 And He said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in His own authority.
Act 1:8 But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Act 1:9 And saying these things, as they watched, He was taken up. And a cloud received Him out of their sight.
Act 1:10 And while they were looking intently into the heaven, He having gone, even behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them,
Act 1:11 who also said, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into the heaven? This same Jesus who is taken up from you into Heaven, will come in the way you have seen Him going into Heaven.
This same Jesus who is taken up from you into Heaven, will come in the way you have seen Him going into Heaven.
This same Jesus who is taken up from you into Heaven, will come in the way you have seen Him going into Heaven.
What does this mean? What are we being told by these two angels? If we take this as a day for a year in a prophetic sense, then what are we to make of it?
If our understanding of the Days of Noah, and the Days of Lot are correct in that the final judgment of Satan takes place at Atonement in 2033, and this also means the Saints will be raised up and those of us alive will be changed on Shavuot to meet Him in the air, because the 144,000 come out at the end of the Great Tribulation, then 10 years before this would be the 40th year, which is 2024. This then makes 1983 the first year and this is where I get confused again. What does 1983 mean? It was the year I was baptized into this walk. Other than that I got nothing.
Leaving that aside and looking only at the prophecy of the two angels in Acts then we should be looking at 2024 for something in the clouds.
Joh 8:31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed on Him, If you continue in My Word, you are My disciples indeed.
Joh 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If we are obeying the commandments then we should know the truth. He promised to be with us even now at the end of this age.
Mat 28:19 Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.
In 31 A.D., the Apostles were in that room when the Holy Spirit descended on them in tongues of fire. Today you have been called out of 8 Billion people on this earth, you and I have been called out. Why? Why us? We have not learned these things by our own intellect or cleverness. No, we have been led by the spirit.
2Pe 1:21 For prophecy was not borne at any time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke being borne along by the Holy Spirit.
Yehshua went to heaven on that 40th day in order that the Holy Spirit would come on the 50th day. What is the significance of that? Why did He not wait until the 50th day and tell the spirit to come then? I do not know, just thinking out loud.
In John Yehshua spoke again about the Holy Spirit:
Joh 16:7 But I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I depart, I will send Him to you.
Joh 16:8 And when that One comes, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.
Joh 16:9 Concerning sin, because they do not believe on Me;
Joh 16:10 concerning righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;
Joh 16:11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
Joh 16:12 I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
Joh 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. For He shall not speak of Himself, but whatever He hears, He shall speak. And He will announce to you things to come.
Joh 16:14 He will glorify Me, for He will receive of Mine and will announce it to you.
Joh 16:15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and will announce it to you.
I am going to give you the rest of John 16 to read as well, as it is also appropriate for our time now. Ask Him, to understand.
Your Sorrow Will Turn into Joy
Joh 16:16 A little while and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father.Joh 16:17 Then His disciples said to one another, What is this that He says to us, A little while and you will not see Me, and again a little and you will see Me? And, Because I go to the Father?
Joh 16:18 Therefore they said, What is this that He says, A little while? We do not know what He is saying.
Joh 16:19 Then Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him, and said to them, Do you seek answers with one another concerning this, because I said, A little whileand you shall not see Me; and again a little while, and you shall see Me?
Joh 16:20 Truly, truly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. And you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
Joh 16:21 The woman has grief when she bears, because her hour has come. But when she brings forth the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, because of the joy that a man is born into the world.
Joh 16:22 And therefore you now have sorrow. But I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
Joh 16:23 And in that day you shall ask Me nothing. Truly, truly, I say to you, Whatever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give you.
Joh 16:24 Before now you have asked nothing in My name; ask and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.
I Have Overcome the World
Joh 16:25 I have spoken these things to you in parables, but the time is coming when I shall no more speak to you in parables, but I will show you plainly of the Father.Joh 16:26 At that day you will ask in My name; and I do not say to you that I will pray to the Father for you,
Joh 16:27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from God.
Joh 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and have come into the world. Again I leave the world and go to the Father.
Joh 16:29 The disciples said to Him, Lo, now You speak plainly and speak no parable.
Joh 16:30 Now we know that You know all things and do not need that anyone should ask You. By this we believe that You have come forth from God.
Joh 16:31 Jesus answered them, Do you now believe?
Joh 16:32 Behold, the hour comes, yea, has now come, that you will be scattered, each man to his own things, and you will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.
Joh 16:33 I have spoken these things to you so that you might have peace in Me. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.
The number 40 is clearly associated with judgment, tests or trials. When Yehovah brought the flood in Noah’s generation, it rained 40 days and nights. Moses was on Mount Sinai and received the ten commandments after 40 days and nights. He fasted that entire time. He then went back up another 40 days and 40 nights to get the second set of commandments after the golden calf event. The spies scouted out the Promised Land for 40 days. Then they were punished for 40 years, wandering in the wilderness for bringing back an evil report. Yehshua fasted 40 days before He faced off with Satan. We are now about to face off with Satan. Are we ready for what is about to begin?
Yeshua was here on earth for 40 days after His resurrection. He ascended to Heaven with just ten days to go to Shavuot. Is He about to return in 2024 to begin the 10 years of judgment on mankind? Is this what we are being told? This is the whole meaning of the 10 Days of Awe. They are the last 10 days before the final judgment on the Day of Atonement.
Are we watching for Him? Are you focused on watching for Him? The five foolish thought they were ready. But on the Feast of Trumpets, when He comes, they went out to buy oil. If they knew Him, they would know you are not to buy or sell on the Holy Day of the Feast of Trumpets. 2024 represents the Feast of Trumpets, the start of the 10 years of Judgment.
Sept 22, 2023, we fully expect to see some sort of Abomination set up on the corner of Mount Golgotha. Randy and I will be there. We will need your prayers and financial support. We are warned about this event by Yehshua. Pay attention to all He says as we are about to enter this time.
Mat 24:15 Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand).
Mat 24:16 Then let those in Judea flee into the mountains.
Mat 24:17 Let him on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house;
Mat 24:18 nor let him in the field turn back to take his clothes.
Mat 24:19 And woe to those who are with child, and to those who give suck in those days!
Mat 24:20 But pray that your flight is not in the winter, nor on the sabbath day;
Mat 24:21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world to this time; no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22 And unless those days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect’s sake, those days shall be shortened.
Mat 24:23 Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here isChrist! Or, There! Do not believe it.
Mat 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders; so much so that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect.
Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you beforehand.
Mat 24:26 Therefore if they shall say to you, Behold, He is in the desert! Do not go out. Behold, He is in the secret rooms! Do not believe it.
Mat 24:27 For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even to the west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Mat 24:28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered.
After these events, we are told about the time when Yehovah will come.
Mat 24:29 And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
Mat 24:30 And then the sign of the Son of Man shall appear in the heavens. And then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of the heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
I read this and understand it is to take place at the end of the Tribulation in the year 2033. So, as I return to thinking about Acts 1:11 This same Jesus who is taken up from you into Heaven, will come in the way you have seen Him going into Heaven.
I am left to wonder about the meaning of this 40th day and its relationship to the 10 days or 10 years of Awe directly in front of us. What does it mean? What are we to be looking for? When are we to look for it? The Holy Spirit will lead us to understand when we ask.
Amos tells us that the prophet and Yehovah work together to warn the people.
Amo 3:3 Can two walk together unless they are agreed?
Amo 3:4 Will a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey for him? Will a young lion cry out of his den unless he has caught?
Amo 3:5 Will a bird fall into a trap on the ground, and there is no bait for it? Will a trap spring up from the ground, and nothing at all be caught?
Amo 3:6 If a ram’s horn is blown in a city, will the people not also tremble? If there is a calamity in a city, has Jehovah not also done it?
Amo 3:7 For the Lord Jehovah will do nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
Amo 3:8 The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord Jehovah has spoken; who will not prophesy?
Amo 3:9 Make it heard at the palaces of Ashdod, and the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say: Gather yourselves on the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great uproars in its midst, and the oppressed in its midst.
Amo 3:10 For they do not know to do right, says Jehovah, those who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
Amo 3:11 So the Lord Jehovah says this: An enemy! And he shall be all around the land; and he shall bring you down from your strength, and your palaces shall be plundered.
Amo 3:12 So says Jehovah: As the shepherd takes two legs out of the mouth of the lion, or a piece of an ear; so shall the sons of Israel be taken out, those who dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus on a couch.
Amo 3:13 Hear and testify in the house of Jacob, says the Lord Jehovah, the God of Hosts,
Amo 3:14 for in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also visit the altars of Bethel. And the horns of the altar shall be cut off and shall fall to the ground.
Amo 3:15 And I will strike the winter house together with the summer house, and the houses of ivory shall perish. And the great houses shall be swept away, says Jehovah.
Why Cain's Offering Was Rejected
Why Cain’s Offering Was Rejected
Gen 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife. And she conceived and bore Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from Jehovah.
Gen 4:2 And she bore again, his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Gen 4:3 And in the end of days, it happened, Cain brought to Jehovah an offering of the fruit of the ground.
Gen 4:4 And Abel also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat of it. And Jehovah had respect to Abel and to his offering,
Gen 4:5 but He did not have respect to Cain and to his offering. And Cain glowed with anger, and his face fell.
Gen 4:6 And Jehovah said to Cain, Why have you angrily glowed? And why did your face fall?
Gen 4:7 If you do well, shall you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door; and its desire is for you, and you shall rule over it.
Why was Cain’s offering rejected? Was it because it was fruit from the ground?
Why was Abels offering accepted? Was it because it was an animal?
I would like to suggest it was because Cain did not honour the office of the King of all Creation, Yehovah.
Abel brought the first of his flocks. His first fruits. Cain’s offering was not the first. It was common or from the entire crop, but it was not the first. Yehovah does accept crops as offerings. Look at the barley and the wheat.
This is why we are so determined to find the very first of the barley each year to begin the year. We do not have a Temple to make the offering, but we strive to prepare the first fruits offering for the day when we do have a Temple. We have word this week the first fruits of the wheat are now ready. Imagine that. In spite of all the rain and cold temperatures, the wheat is still ready to harvest now, just one week before Shavuot. The very first of the wheat harvest.
Other groups will not be looking for wheat. They don’t care. They don’t understand. They are like Cain, offering the common wheat or the common barley from the crop. NOT THE FIRST FRUITS! It is important you understand this.
The barley Becca and Randy found was shattered and reseeded by the time the majority of the Karaites groups kept Passover on April 5th. Now the wheat is ready and Devorah is still looking for the barley to be Aviv so she can keep Passover in May.
I am asking you all to watch the video Becca posted and we shared above and for you to judge which one is the first fruits. Will your offering, the bullocks of your lips be accepted as Abels was or will it be rejected as Cains was? Understand why.
Prepare to Celebrate Shavuot
Prepare to Celebrate Shavuot
While we here at Sighted Moon love to sit around the kitchen table and Study Yehovah’s word, the Feast days are for Celebrating! Celebration is to bring joy and mirth, and what better time to express these emotions than at Shavuot, the remembrance and renewal of our betrothal to our beloved Bridegroom.
Now I know many of us are alone in our keeping of the feasts, and so the aspect of celebration is difficult, but we won’t have the “feeling” of Joy unless we actively pursue it, and pursuing it means we have to get our noses out of a book, our eyes off the computer screen and get to work making our own space a celebration.
There are certain traditions that help bring the joyful feelings to the Shavuot Feast. I’ll share a few and you choose which to participate in. Because Shavuot is a remembrance of the Betrothal event at Mount Sinai, this event encourages rich and delicious foods you would serve at a wedding, things like cheesecake or cheeses and fruit platter, creamy soups and fancy challah.
Jamie Gellar has a page with suggested menu according to various themes https://jamiegeller.com/tag/shavuot-menu/
And this page has lots of recipes you could serve for Shavuot. https://mayihavethatrecipe.com/14-mouthwatering-recipes-to-make-on-shavuot/
Now as I peruse these two web pages I’m reminded we are limited by the Shmittah this year, so use your creativity. Those beautiful fresh salads won’t work this year, but we’ve all stored away some fruits and veggies. Imagine how you could serve a can of fruit with a custard for dessert, a yummy peach cobbler or turn some frozen sweet potatoes and carrots into a casserole or that wonderful wheat salad we make here on the prairies. Maybe you don’t like to cook, maybe you prefer a catered affair, maybe ask a local deli to cater some meat and cheese platters for you. You can up scale it or down scale it, but make it special for you. The grocery store often has platters made up. Depending on how you are observing your Shmittah year, go with your guidelines, maybe a platter of fruits and veggies is within your personal understanding of the Shmittah. The point is, the very word FEAST implies FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD! So find a way to delight yourself with a bountiful days worth of delicacies.
Creating a beautiful Challah is one way to get into the joyful spirit of the Shavuot event, after all, it is also the time of the firstfruit of the Wheat. There is tradition to be creative with the design of the challah. This one I made in the shape of an open Torah scroll. It does not quite look like the pinterest version, but it was my own worshipful creation. Remember that our Abba Father has given us creative skills and talents as a means to worship Him, so don’t fear imperfection, proudly bring Him the best your talents have to offer.
This challah was made as a sheaf of wheat to offer as the firstfruit offering. The whole purpose of symbols and images is not that we worship the created thing, but that we remember the details of what our worship of Him is about. Even the braiding of the challah bread is to remind us of a cord of three strands.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
And that’s why we have traditions that the whole community keeps, not that it’s a commandment to make the challah, but that when we all do it, this binds us together in unity, reminding ourselves that we need each other, not just those sitting at your table, but all those who are entering into the Sabbath, all those who are keeping the Feasts
This Feast of Shavuot has so many wonderful themes we can work with. It is a betrothal event, it is the giving of the 10 Commandments, it is a first fruits offering, it is a remembrance of the giving of the Holy Spirit. The book of Ruth is filled with Shavuot themes
It’s not just about Challah, We can be creative with all kinds of foods. I made these one year.

In a Hebrew wedding, a chuppah is a symbol of the house the groom will provide for his bride. It’s a symbol of the home, the comfort, the place to dwell together. It’s a place of security. It is a picture of the cloud which set on top of Mount Sinai Exodus 19:16 On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud on the mountain and a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people in the camp trembled.
We have taken this picture of the Chuppah and have renewed our covenant with Yehovah under the chuppah over the years. We build a chuppah from whatever we have available, Our first year we stood between bookshelves with a tallit stretched between the two. The next year we found some lumber in the garage and built a structure.
Under the chuppah we recite aloud our ketubah with our Bridegroom
Exodus 20
The Ten Commandments
1 And God spoke all these words, saying,
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands[b] of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.[c]
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”
Exodus 19:8 All the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.”
Another thing you could do under the chuppah is bless the children.
For the boys, may you be as Ephraim and Menasseh,
For the girls, May you be like Sarah Rebecca Rachel and Leah
May the Lord Bless you and keep you,
May He cause his face to shine upon you
May Yehovah turn His face toward you and give you peace.
As I look back at these photos from years ago, I see at least 4 of these kids have entered into their own marriages and started families.

The Showbread: The How and Why of the Temple Bread Offering
The Showbread: The How and Why of the Temple Bread Offering
The bread of the Presence (also called the showbread or shewbread in some translations) was special bread always present on a table in the Tabernacle (and later in the Temple). Leviticus 24:5–7 describes this bread:
Lev 24:5 And you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes of it. Two-tenth parts shall be in one cake.
Lev 24:6 And you shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure table before Jehovah.
Lev 24:7 And you shall put pure frankincense on each row, so that it may be on the bread for a memorial, a fire offering to Jehovah.
This bread of the Presence was:
1) made of fine flour,
2) baked in 12 loaves,
3) arranged in two piles of six loaves each on a table of pure gold,
4) covered with frankincense, and
5) served as a memorial food offering to the Lord. The bread could only be eaten by Aaron and his sons in a holy place and was set out every Sabbath day (Leviticus 24:8–9).
Lev 24:8 Every sabbath he shall set it in order before Jehovah forever, from the sons of Israel by an everlasting covenant.
Lev 24:9 And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’. And they shall eat it in the holy place, for it is most holy to him of the fire offerings of Jehovah, by a never-ending statute.
The bread of the Presence is first mentioned in Exodus 25:30.
Exo 25:23 You shall also make a table of acacia-wood, its length two cubits, and its breadth a cubit, and its height a cubit and a half.
Exo 25:24 And you shall overlay it with pure gold, and make to this a crown of gold all around.
Exo 25:25 And you shall make to it a border of a hand’s breadth round about. And you shall make a golden crown to the border of it, all around.
Exo 25:26 And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet of it.
Exo 25:27 The rings shall be adjoining the border as housings for the staves to carry the table.
Exo 25:28 And you shall make the staves of acacia-wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them.
Exo 25:29 And you shall make its dishes, and its spoons, and its pitchers, and its sacrificial cups with which a drink-offering is made. You shall make them of pure gold.
Exo 25:30 And you shall set upon the table Bread of the Presence before Me always.
The bread is also listed in the contributions for the tabernacle in Exodus 35:13 and noted as part of the completed tabernacle in Exodus 39:36. In Numbers 4 the Kohathites, who were sons of Levi, were given responsibility for the care of the table of showbread.
1Ch 9:32 And others of the sons of the Kohathites, from among their brothers, were over The Bread of Arrangement, to prepare sabbath by sabbath.
The Showbread: The How and Why of the Temple Bread Offering
It was the showbread, the bread of the Tabernacle (the portable Temple) and, later, the Holy Temples.
Bread for the Creator
When G‑d commanded the children of Israel to make a Tabernacle, He gave a long, detailed list of all the vessels to be used in it. Among them was a golden table. The showbread was to be placed on the table: “On the table, the showbread should be placed before Me at all times.”1
The Torah gives us more details about this mitzvah—how many loaves of bread there should be, their weight, and the day of the week on which they should be brought as an offering to the Creator:
Take the finest grade of wheat flour and bake it into 12 loaves. Each loaf will be made from two-tenths of an eifah (2.7 liters; 1 gallon). Arrange these loaves in two stacks, six loaves to a stack, on the pure table, before G‑d. Put pure frankincense beside these stacks. This will be the memorial portion, a fire-offering to G‑d. Every Shabbat these loaves should be placed before G‑d—it is an eternal covenant that this must come from the children of Israel. The [bread] will be given to Aaron and his descendants to eat in a holy place, since it is a most holy fire-offering to G‑d. This is an eternal law.2
From this passage we learn that the showbread was placed on the table in two stacks, each stack containing six loaves. Frankincense (resin extracted from the Boswellia sacra tree) was placed on the table with the showbread. Fresh loaves of bread replaced the old loaves on the table every Shabbat, and the Kohanim (priests) would eat the loaves that were removed from the table.
Bread Artisans
How did the loaves of showbread look? The Talmud cites different opinions.
According to Rabbi Chanina, the loaves were made “like an open ark,” but according to Rabbi Yochanan, they looked “like a dancing ship.”3
What do these images mean?
Rashi4 opines that “an open ark” is like an upside down “chet” (ח, the eighth letter of the Hebrew alphabet). In other words, each loaf looked like a two-sided box with no lid. The Rambam (Maimonides),5on the other hand, says that the upper edges of the loaves were turned in, so that the loaves looked like a two-sided box whose upper flaps were slightly pushed in.
And what does “a dancing ship” look like? Rashi says that this refers to the shape of a ship whose hull is narrow where it touches the water, but wider towards the top. Since the ship stands on a narrow base, it’s not very stable, and so it “dances.” In his commentary on the Talmud, Rashi draws a picture that looks like the English letter V. However, the Ba’alei HaTosefot (another commentary on the Talmud) say that above the V shape, the sides of the loaves rose straight up.
Whatever shape it was, the baking of the showbread was a real art.
Remember that:
- The loaves were uniquely shaped, and they had to remain whole and unbroken during the baking and afterwards.
- The loaves were standing exposed to the air for a full week, and they must have been made according to a special recipe, because they never became moldy or dried out.
- The loaves had to be baked quickly so they wouldn’t become chametz (leavened).
- The loaves were fairly large, each weighing almost five kilograms (11 lbs.).
The Talmud6 tells us that there was a family named Garmu who were experts at preparing the showbread. The sages asked them to teach other people the secrets of preparing the showbread, but they refused and were fired. Specialists were brought from Alexandria, Egypt, who knew how to bake, but they did not know how to take the loaves from the oven as well as the Garmus did, and in spite of their many attempts, their loaves became moldy. The Garmus were summoned back to their job, and the showbread was once again offered. When they were asked why they wouldn’t teach anyone else how to do the work, they said, “We know that the Temple will be destroyed, and we are concerned that an unworthy man will learn how to bake the showbread and use it to serve an idol.”
In addition, the Garmu family was known to be honest. The showbread was made from clean flour that had been sifted many times. The family never ate bread made from fine flour, only simple, rough bread, so that no one would suspect them of using the lechem hapanim flour for their own meals.
What Was Done with the Showbread?
The loaves of showbread were placed on the table in the Tabernacle and, later, in the Temple. They were placed in two stacks of six loaves each, with reeds separating the loaves.
Every Shabbat, after the Mincha (afternoon) sacrifice, the old loaves were replaced with new ones. The old loaves were given to Kohanim to eat.
Reasons for the Name
In Hebrew, the showbread is called lechem hapanim, which translates literally as “face bread.” The Talmud says that it was called lechem hapanim because it had many “faces,” i.e., many sides.7 The translation of the verse by Yonatan ben Uziel into Aramaic says that the showbread got its name because it was inside (“p’nim”) the hall of the Tabernacle and the Temple.
Why Showbread?
Maimonides says8 that he wasn’t able to find explanations for this mitzvah. However, different explanations have been given over the years, and there is a central message that is similar in all the explanations: the showbread symbolizes the material abundance that G‑d gives to the Jews. It’s a continuous reminder that our livelihoods and food come only from G‑d.
Three times a year, when the children of Israel made the pilgrimage to the Holy Temple—on Passover, Shavuot and Sukkot—they were shown the table and the showbread. “Look at how beloved you are by G‑d!” the Kohanim would tell them, pointing to the showbread, which stayed hot and fresh even though it was left out for a whole week.9
The Talmud10 tells us, “If a person wants to become rich, he should point his feet to the north when he prays.” The table was on the north side of the Temple, and the showbread was a perpetual reminder of G‑d’s generosity, and the channel for abundance and prosperity.
Here’s another good scripture passage that goes well along with the “Why Cain’s Offering was Rejected” section:
Isaiah 66:2-4 NKJV
2 For all those things My hand has made, And all those [things] exist,” Says the LORD. “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.
3 “He who kills a bull [is as if] he slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog’s neck; He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood; He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol. Just as they have chosen their own ways, And their soul delights in their abominations,
4 So will I choose their delusions, And bring their fears on them; Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did not hear; But they did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight.”
The comforter comes.why is the Ruach called the comforter? Why do we need to wait for a comforter, what are we being comforted from? Our captivity? From 1000 on one side, 10,000 on the other falling before us? Things that make you go hmmmmm.
[[This is part of your newsletter, Brother Joseph. Please, correct me if I got this wrong. But I did some minor editing for clarity.]]
Look at the barley and the wheat.
This is why we (Sighted Moon) are so determined to find the very first of the barley each year to begin the year.
We do [not] have a Temple to make the offering, but we strive to prepare the first fruits offering for
the day when we do have a Temple.
We have word this week the first fruits of the wheat are now
ready. Imagine that. In spite of all the rain and cold temperatures, the wheat is still ready to
harvest now, just one week before Shavuot.
The very first of the wheat harvest.
Other groups will not be looking for wheat. They don’t care. They don’t understand. They are like
Cain, offering the common wheat or the common barley from the crop. NOT THE FIRST
FRUITS!
It is important you understand this.
The barley Becca and Randy found was Aviv (when they found it).
But later was shattered and reseeded, by the time the majority of the
Karaites groups kept Passover in late March.
Now the wheat is ready and Devorah is still looking
for the barley to be Aviv so she can keep Passover in May.
I am asking you all to watch the video Becca posted and we shared above and for you to judge
which one is the first fruits.
Will your offering, the bullocks of your lips be accepted as Abels
was or will it be rejected as Cains was?
Understand why.
*I did some minor editing for clarity.
Shalom Joseph – copied the following :
Also with Easter now behind us, many still want to know where Ascension Sunday is spoken of in the Old Testament.
Do you refer to Passover as Easter , or was this intended for Christians and people of other faiths , who might be reading this article .
Went into a Christian bookshop the other day and was met with a banner – books to read this Easter . Asked the lady behind the counter politely – Why : this Easter and not this Passover – to which she replied – i really don’t know . Will we keep Passover – for those who know what it means – and Easter for the pagans from which it originated .
Take care and God bless
Shalom Neil, yes that was for those who keep Easter. I want to target the audience I am going after with language they are familiar with.
I really appreciate the article on how to celebrate Shavuot and the article on the showbread. How fascinating the shapes of the 12 loaves and each were 11 lbs. Wow. There is so much beautiful details in Yehovah’s kingdom.
Your Newsletter was awesome, outstanding even.
You don’t know how long I waited to hear someone say why Cain’s offer was rejected REALLY.
I rejected the stuff I had first swallowed about the lamb initially. As I came more to understand Torah, I began to question that. Then I began to wonder IF Cain’s offering was rejected because it wasn’t good enough, not because it was from the ground.
And just as I am pondering this — You answer my question — in context of the season we are in. Amazing!
And I truly thank you!
Be blessed on Day 42, and Sivan New Moon Day! Shabbat Shalom!
I don’t know if I believe we will see Yeshua coming on Trumpets 5860, but I’m not falling asleep on the Watch now
Thank you, for all you posted for us to enjoy and ponder about our coming celebration, too.
And Skip Moen’s videos were a real experience last week, just took me a bit to watch them all. I also enjoyed the one the lady contributed. All very thought-provoking.
I had heard some of this from Steve & Jana Ben Nun, but he had a bit more.
And though he missed speaking on the pagan temple whore tradition associated with “saved in childbearing” (which I believe is what it was really about, refuting
that superstition), he did quite well — and brought some real food for thought to the table.
So, thank you for all that, too! Be blessed!
The following is a question I asked on Zoom chat at our Sabbath meeting.
Joe asks the question in this Newsletter “Is He about to return in 2024 to begin the 10 years of judgment on mankind?
Then Sombra answered my question and was followed by Joseph encouraging the conversation to be here in comments.
Sombra’s answered: My answer is NO – he is not about to return.. but the Shofar is going to blow to tell us the Bridgegroom is coming in 2024.. at a Hebrew wedding, the shofar is blown to warn the bride to get dressed and ready because the bridegroom is coming, but she doesn’t know when, it’s not like it’s a timer starting.. I mean, it is.. but it’s not an exact thing. it’s a warning.. get ready.. because he is coming, and you want to be ready when he comes… and not still in your jeans instead of your wedding gown.
but there is a pattern of 10 – a number representing completion. so when the shofar blast comes, the bride needs to be getting ready.. because when the completion comes the Bridegroom will appear.
Shalom brother Joe, the following is a quote from your newsletter.
“Nimrod was judged in both the upper and lower courts of Egypt by Shem before being found guilty and then torn apart as his punishment and his body parts were sent to the leading cities of the world at that time as a warning that if they continued to follow Nimrods teachings, the same would happen to them.”
Where is that from? Thanks
Shalom WB, I believe you can find this information buried deep in the Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop. Typho was a curse name for the King who executed Nimrod. That would be Shem. Shem was depicted in the Hierogyphs as a wild boar with golden chains coming from his mouth to indicate how his words led the people to follow him. There are also hieroglyphs in Egypt that show Seth was the one who murdered Osiris, who was Nimrod.
Even Wikipedia has mentions of the long battle between Seth and Osiris and or Horus which was to be determined by a judge.

THE DEATH OF THE CHILD. 55
theD, it appears that Atlas, with the heavens resting on his broad shoulders, refers to no mere distinction in astronomical knowledge, however great, as some have supposed, but to a quite different thing, even to that great apostacy in which the Giants rebelled against Heaven* and in which Nimrod, " the

the acknowledged ringleader, occupied a pre-eminent place. J According to the system which Nimrod was the grand instrument
in introducing, men were led to believe that a real spiritual change
of heart was unnecessary, and that so far as change was needful, they could be regenerated by mere external means. Looking at the subject in the light of the Bacchanalian orgies, which, as the reader has seen, commemorated the history of Nimrod, it is evident that he led mankind to seek their chief good in sensual enjoyment, and showed them how they might enjoy the pleasures of sin, without any fear of the wrath of a holy God. In his various expeditions he was always accompanied by troops of women ; and by music and song, and games and revelries, and everything that could please the natural heart, he commended himself to the good graces of mankind.
SUB-SECTION IV. THE DEATH OF THE CHILD.
How Nimrod died, Scripture is entirely silent. There was an
ancient tradition that he came to a violent end. The circumstances
of that end, however, as antiquity represents them, are clouded with fable. It is said that tempests of wind sent by God against the Tower of Babel overthrew it, and that Nimrod perished in its ruins. This could not be true, for we have sufficient evidence that the Tower of Babel stood long after Nimrod s day. Then, in regard to the death of Ninus, profane history speaks darkly and mysteriously, although one account tells of his having met with a violent death similar to that of Pentheus,|| Lycurgus,U and Orpheus,** who were
plainly an allusion in the words of Daniel to Nebuchadnezzar, when announcing

said to have been torn in pieces.* The identity of Nimrod, however, and the Egyptian Osiris,^having been established, we have thereby light as to Nimrod s death. Osiris met with a violent death, and that violent death of Osiris was the central theme of the whole
idolatry of Egypt. If Osiris was Nimrod, as we have seen, that
violent death which the Egyptians so pathetically deplored in their annual festivals was just the death of Nimrod. The accounts in
regard to the death of the god worshipped in the several mysteries of the different countries are all to the same effect. A statement of
Plato seems to show, that in his day the Egyptian Osiris was regarded as identical with Tammuz ; f and Tammuz is well known to have been the same as Adonis,J the famous HUNTSMAN, for whose death Yenus is fabled to have made such bitter lamentations. As the women of Egypt wept for Osiris, as the Phenician and Assyrian women wept for Tammuz, so in Greece and Rome the women wept for Bacchus, whose name, as we have seen, means "The bewailed,"

large and consenting evidence, all leading to one conclusion, that the death of Nimrod, the child worshipped in the arms of the goddess- mother of Babylon, was a death of violence.
Now, when this mighty hero, in the midst of his career of glory, was suddenly cut off by a violent death, great seems to have been the shock that the catastrophe occasioned. When the news spread abroad, the devotees of pleasure felt as if the best benefactor of mankind were gone, and the gaiety of nations eclipsed. Loud was the wail that everywhere ascended to heaven among the apostates from the
primeval faith for so dire a catastrophe. Then began those weepings for Tammuz, in the guilt of which the daughters of Israel allowed themselves to be implicated, and the existence of which can be traced not merely in the annals of classical antiquity, but in the literature of the world from Ultima Thule to Japan.
Of the prevalence of such weepings in China, thus speaks the Rev.
and is a season of great excitement. About 2000 years ago there
lived a young Chinese Mandarin, Wat-yune, highly respected and
beloved by the people. To the grief of all, he was suddenly drowned in the river. Many boats immediately rushed out in search of him, but his body was never found. Ever since that time, on the same

It was while the sun was in Scorpio that Osiris in Egypt disappeared (WILKINSON, vol. iv. p. 331), and great lamentations were made for his disappear ance. Another subject was mixed up with the death of the Egyptian god ; but it is specially to be noticed that, as it was in consequence of a conflict with a scorpion that Orion was "added to the stars," so it was when the scorpion was in the ascendant that Osiris "

Volar from her infernal abode. All the gods trembled at the know ledge of this event. Then Frigga [the wife of Odin] called on every object, animate and inanimate, to take an oath not to destroy or furnish arms against Balder. Fire, water, rocks, and vegetables were bound by this solemn obligation. One plant only, the misletoe, was overlooked. Loki discovered the omission, and made that con temptible shrub the fatal weapon. Among the warlike pastimes of Valhalla [the assembly of the gods] one was to throw darts at the invulnerable deity, who felt a pleasure in presenting his charmed breast to their weapons. At a tournament of this kind, the evil genius putting a sprig of the misletoe into the hands of the blind
Hoder, and directing his aim, the dreaded prediction was accomplished by an unintentional fratricide.* The spectators were struck with
speechless wonder; and their misfortune was the greater, that no one, out of respect to the sacredness of the place, dared to avenge it. With tears of lamentation they carried the lifeless body to the shore, and laid it upon a ship, as a funeral pile, with that of Nanna his lovely bride, who had died of a broken heart. His horse and arms were burnt at the same time, as was customary at the obsequies of the ancient heroes of the north." Then Frigga, his mother, was overwhelmed with distress. "Inconsolable for the loss of her beautiful son," says Dr. Crichton, "she despatched Hermod (the swift) to the abode of Hela [the goddess of Hell, or the infernal regions], to offer a ransom for his release. The gloomy goddess pro mised that he should be restored, provided everything on earth were found to weep for him. SUB-SECTION V. THE DEIFICATION OF THE CHILD.
If there was one who was more deeply concerned in the tragic death of Nimrod than another, it was his wife Semiramis, who, from an originally humble position, had been raised to share with him the throne of Babylon. What, in this emergency shall she do ? Shall she quietly forego the pomp and pride to which she has been raised 1 No. Though the death of her husband has given a rude shock to her power, yet her resolution and unbounded ambition were in nowise checked. On the contrary, her ambition took a still higher flight. In life her husband had been honoured as a hero ; in death she will have him worshipped as a god, yea, as the woman s promised

The reader who consults the able and very learned work of Dr. Wilson of Bombay, on the Parsi Religion, will find that there was a Zoroaster long before that Zoroaster who lived in the reign of Darius Hystaspes. (See note to WILSON S Parsi Religion, p. 398.) In general history, the Zoroaster of Bactria is most frequently referred to ; but the voice of antiquity is clear and distinct to the effect that the first and great Zoroaster was an Assyrian or Chaldean (SuiDAS, torn. i. p. 1133), and that he was the founder of the idolatrous system of Babylon, and therefore Nimrod. It is equally clear also in stating that he perished by a violent death, even as was the case with Nimrod, Tammuz, or Bacchus. The identity of Bacchus and Zoroaster is still further proved by the epithet Pyrisporus, bestowed on Bacchus in the Orphic flymns (Hymn xliv. 1). When the primeval promise of Eden began to be forgotten, the meaning of the name Zero-ashta was lost to all who knew only the exoteric doctrine of Paganism ; and as "ashta" signified "fire" in Chaldee, as well as "the woman," and the rites of Bacchus
had much to do with fire-worship, "Zero-ashta "

FromthismisunderstandingofthemeaningofthenameZero-ashta, or rather from its wilful perversion by the priests, who wished to establish one doctrine for the initiated, and another for the profane vulgar, came the whole story about the unborn infant Bacchus having been rescued from the flames that consumed his mother Semele, when Jupiter came in his glory to visit her. (Note to OVID S Metam., lib. iii. v. 254, torn. ii. p. 139.)
There was another name by which Zoroaster was known, and which is not a
little instructive, and that is Zar-adas, " The
is given either Zoroadus, or Zarades (p. 400). The ancient Pagans, while they recognised supremely one only God, knew also that there was one only seed, on whom the hopes of the world were founded. In almost all nations, not only was a great god known under the name of Zero or Zer,

head, recorded in Genesis, as made to our first parents, was actually made, and if all mankind were descended from them, then it might be expected that some trace of this promise would be found in all nations. And such is the fact. There is hardly a people or kindred on earth in whose mythology it is not shadowed forth. The Greeks
represented their great god Apollo as slaying the serpent Pytho, and Hercules as strangling serpents while yet in his cradle. In Egypt,
in India, in Scandinavia, in Mexico, we find clear allusions to the
" of the

belief among the Mexicans, we find Humboldt saying, that "The serpent crushed by the great spirit Teotl, when he takes the form of one of the subaltern deities, is the genius of evil a real Kako- dsemon."! Now, in almost all cases, when the subject is examined to the bottom, it turns out that the serpent destroying god is repre sented as enduring hardships and sufferings that end in his death. Thus the god Thor, while succeeding at last in destroying the great serpent, is represented as, in the very moment of victory, perishing from the venomous effluvia of his breath. The same would seem to
be the way in which the Babylonians represented their great serpent- destroyer among the figures of their ancient sphere. His myste rious suffering is thus described by the Greek poet Aratus, whose

poet ; but it is plain that, as Engonasis came from the Baby lonians, it must be interpreted, not in a Greek, but in a Chaldee
sense, and so interpreted, as the action of the figure itself implies, the title of the mysterious sufferer is just "The Serpent-crusher."!
Sometimes, however, the actual crushing of the serpent was repre
sented as a much more easy process ; yet, even then, death was the
ultimate result; and that death of the serpent-destroyer is so
described as to leave no doubt whence the fable was borrowed.
This is particularly the case with the Indian God Crishna, to whom
Wilkinson alludes in the extract already given. In the legend that
concerns him, the whole of the primeval promise in Eden is very
strikingly embodied. First, he is represented in pictures and images
with his foot on the great serpent s head,! an(^ then, after destroying
it, he is fabled to have died in consequence of being shot by an arrow
in the foot ; and, as in the case of Tammuz, great lamentations are
annually made for his death. Even in Greece, also, in the classic
story of Paris and Achilles, we have a very plain allusion to that
part of the primeval promise, which referred to the bruising of the

At that his adversary took aim, and death was the result.
Now, if there be such evidence still, that even Pagans knew that it was by dying that the promised Messiah was to destroy death and him that has the power of death, that is the Devil, how much more vivid must have been the impression of mankind in general in regard to this vital truth in the early days of Semiramis, when they were

worship and apostacy, there can be no doubt of the meaning which that name was intended to convey. And the fact of the violent death of the hero, who, in the esteem of his partisans, had done so much to bless mankind, to make life happy, and to deliver them from the fear of the wrath to come, instead of being fatal to the bestowal of such a title upon him, favoured rather than otherwise the daring design. All that was needed to countenance the scheme on the part of those who wished an excuse for continued apostacy from the true God, was just to give out that, though the great patron of the apostacy had fallen a prey to the malice of men, he had freely offered himself for the good of mankind. Now, this was what was actually done. The Chaldean version of the story of the great Zoroaster is that he prayed to the supreme God of heaven to take away his life ; that his prayer was heard, and that he expired, assur ing his followers that, if they cherished due regard for his memory,

Berosus, the Babylonian historian, says of the cutting off of the head
of the great god Belus, is plainly to the same effect. Belus, says Berosus, commanded one of the gods to cut off his head, that from the blood thus shed by his own command and with his own consent, when mingled with the earth, new creatures might be formed, the first creation being represented as a sort of a failure,f Thus the death of Belus, who was Nimrod, like that attributed to Zoroaster, was represented as entirely voluntary, and as submitted to for the benefit ofthe world.
It seems to have been now only when the dead hero was to be deified, that the secret Mysteries were set up. The previous form of apostacy during the life of Nimrod appears to have been open and public. Now, it was evidently felt that publicity was out of the
question. The death of the great ringleader of the apostacy was not the death of a warrior slain in battle, but an act of judicial rigour,
solemnly inflicted. This is well established by the accounts of the deaths of both Tammuz and Osiris. The following is the account of Tammuz, given by the celebrated Maimonides, deeply read in all
" When the false
Thammuz preached to a certain king that he should worship the seven stars and the twelve signs of the Zodiac, that king ordered him to be put to a terrible death. On the night of his death all the images assembled from the ends of the earth into the temple of
Babylon, to the great golden image of the Sun, which was suspended between heaven and earth. That image prostrated itself in the midst
of the temple, and so did all the images around it, while it related to them all that had happened to Thammuz. The images wept and lamented all the night long, and then in the morning they flew away, each to his own temple again, to the ends of the earth. And hence arose the custom every year, on the first day of the month Thammuz, to mourn and to weep for Thammuz."J There is here, of course, all

From what is related

truly primitive one, was he who was known in Egypt as having,

of Hercules were afterwards given by the Pagans to him whom they
worshipped as the grand deliverer or Messiah, just as the adversaries

They were Nimrod and his party; for the "Giants" were just the "Mighty ones," of whom Nimrod was the leader. Who, then, was most likely to head the opposition to the apostacy from the primitive worship 1 If Shem

leading men of Egypt, he got him into his power, put him to death, and then cut his dead body into pieces, and sent the different parts to so many different cities throughout the country. J The real mean ing of this statement will appear, if we glance at the judicial institu tions of Egypt. Seventy-two was just the number of the judges, both civil and sacred, who, according to Egyptian law, were required to determine what was to be the punishment of one guilty of so high an offence as that of Osiris, supposing this to have become a matter of judicial inquiry. In determining such a case, there were neces sarily two tribunals concerned. Eirst, there were the ordinary judges, who had power of life and death, and who amounted to thirty, then there was, over and above, a tribunal consisting of forty-two judges, who, if Osiris was condemned to die, had to deter mine whether his body should be buried or no, for, before burial,

every one after death had to pass the ordeal of this tribunal.* As burial was refused him, both tribunals would necessarily be con cerned ; and thus there would be exactly seventy-two persons, under Typho the president, to condemn Osiris to die and to be cut in pieces. What, then, does the statement amount to, in regard to the con spiracy, but just to this, that the great opponent of the idolatrous system which Osiris introduced, had so convinced these judges of the enormity of the offence which he had committed, that they gave up the offender to an awful death, and to ignominy after it, as a terror to any who might afterwards tread in his steps. The cutting of the dead body in pieces, and sending the dismembered parts among the different cities, is paralleled, and its object explained, by what we read in the Bible of the cutting of the dead body of the Levite s concubine
in pieces (Judges xix. 29), and sending one of the parts to each of the twelve tribes of Israel ; and the similar step taken by Saul, when he hewed the two yoke of oxen asunder, and sent them throughout all the coasts of his kingdom (1 Sam. xi. 7). It is admitted by com mentators that both the Levite and Saul acted on a patriarchal custom, according to which summary vengeance would be dealt to those who failed to come to the gathering that in this solemn way wassummoned. the power of persuasion; the very power with which "Sem," the primitiveHercules, wassosignallyendowed. Evenfromtheancient traditions of the Gael, we get an item of evidence that at once illus trates this idea of power in the mouth, and connects it with that great son of Noah, on whom the blessing of the Highest, as recorded in Scripture, did specially rest. When once it is knownthatatuskisregardedasa"horn" accordingtothesymbolism of idolatry, the meaning of the boar s tusks, by which Adonis perished, is not far to seek. The bull s horns that Nimrod wore were the symbol of physical power. The boar s tusks were the symbol of spiritual power. As a "horn" means power, so a tusk, that is, a horn in the means " in the mouth " in other words,

Shem, however, seems to have been known in Egypt as Typho, not only under the name of Seth, but under his own name ; for Wilkinson tells us that Typho was characterised by a name that signified "to destroy and render desert." (Egyptians, vol. iv. p. 434.) Now the name of Shem also in one of its meanings signifies "to desolate" or lay waste. So Shem, the appointed

Hercules
Ogmius, which,
in is " Hercules the Lamenter."* Chaldee,
No name could be more appropriate, none more descriptive of the
history of Shem, than this. Except our first parent, Adam, there
was, perhaps, never a mere man that saw so much grief as he. Not
only did he see a vast apostacy, which, with his righteous feelings, and witness as he had been of the awful catastrophe of the flood,
must have deeply grieved him ; but he lived to bury SEVEN GENERA TIONS of his descendants. He lived 502 years after the flood, and as the lives of men were rapidly shortened after that event, no less than SEVEN generations of his lineal descendants died before him (Gen. xi. 10-32). How appropriate a name Ogmius, "The Lamenter or
Mourner," for one who had such a history ! Now, how is this " "
Mourning Hercules represented as putting down enormities and redressing wrongs? Not by his club, like the Hercules of the Greeks, but by the force of persuasion. Multitudes were represented as following him, drawn by fine chains of gold and amber inserted into their ears, and which chains proceeded from his mouth, f There is a great difference between the two symbols the tusks of a boar and the golden chains issuing from the mouth, that draw willing crowds by the ears ; but both very beautifully illustrate the same
idea the might of that persuasive power that enabled Shem for a time to withstand the tide of evil that came rapidly rushing in upon the world.
Now when Shem had so powerfully wrought upon the minds of men as to induce them to make a terrible example of the great Apostate, and when that Apostate s dismembered limbs were sent to the chief cities, where no doubt his system had been established, it will be readily perceived that, in these circumstances, if idolatry was to continue if, above all, it was to take a step in advance, it was indispensable that it should operate in secret. The terror of an execution, inflicted on one so mighty as Nimrod, made it needful that, for some time to come at least, the extreme of caution should be used. In these circumstances, then, began, there can hardly be a

Hercules who overcame the Giants, is worthy of notice. That name is Chon. In the Etymologicum Magnum, apud BRYANT, vol. ii. p. 33, we thus read " They say that in the

circumstances as Khon " the lamenter " would form an additional reason why he should be distinguished by that name by which the EgyptianHerculeswasknown. Anditisnottobeoverlooked, thatonthepart of those who seek to turn sinners from the error of their ways, there is an

centre, has spread over the world. In these Mysteries, under the seal of secrecy and the sanction of an oath, and by means of all the fertile resources of magic, men were gradually led back to all the idolatry that had been publicly suppressed, while new features were added to that idolatry that made it still more blasphemous than before. That magic and idolatry were twin sisters, and came into the world we have abundant evidence. " He "
together,
says Justin the historian, "was said to be the first that invented
magic arts, and that most diligently studied the motions of the

I believe that 40 days or 40 years is a deliberate signal to us:
1. From passover (death and ressurection of Yeshua) to the promised land (circumcision of heart, transformation, spiritual birth, resurrection of believers etc) was 40 years (40 jubilees = 2000years)
2. Time from conception (of the bride) to birth (spiritual) in humans is 40 weeks (40 jubilees).
3. It rained for 40 days to cleanse the earth in the time if Noah. Christ washed his bride by the water of the word (eph 5) for 40 jubilees.
4. Yeshua allowed satan 40 days to temp him then said “enough”. From the time of Yeshua till when he says enough to satan will also be 40 jubilees then satan will be locked up for a thousand years.
5. Hos 6:2 Says “after two days [thousand years] he will raise us up”. A day with the lord is 1000 years (2 pet 3:8)
6. We know Yeshua died about 4000 years after creation. Daniel 9:27 says “messiah will be cut off in the midst of the week” (wednesday) and in the middle (4th) millennia of the 7 millenia of history. This means there are at least 2000 years between when Yeshua died and his return.
7. There are many more ways to use “40” in the bible to explain 40 jubilees between Yeshuas first and second comings.
If Yeshua died in 30Ad then he CANT return till 2030 at the earliest.
My personal belief is that he will collect his bride 7 years (biblical marriages lasted 7 days) before the 2045 jubilee. Ie in the year 2038.
The year 2033 has a dual purpose as both Yom Kippur when Satan is arrested and also Shavuot with the completion of the 1st resurrection. So the 10 Years of Awe from 2024 to 2033 also fulfill Yeshua’s last 10 days until Shavuot (days 41-50). We pass the shofar sound throughout the land on Yom Kippur in the Jubilee year, so Atonement, Shavuot and the Jubilee are all related in that we are truly liberated from death and return to our land and bounty, our families, and the presence of Yehovah.
