Moses 40th Day to The 9th of Av

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

CHINESE LEADER SPEAKS OUT
-Brother Yun

Before I travelled to the West I had absolutely no idea that so many churches were spiritually asleep. I presumed the Western
church was strong and vibrant because it had brought the gospel to my country with such incredible faith and tenacity. Many
missionaries had shown a powerful example to us by laying down their lives for the sake of Jesus.

On some occasions I’ve struggled while speaking in Western churches. There seems to be something missing that leaves me
feeling terrible inside. Many meetings are cold and and lack the fire and presence of God that we have in China.

In the West many Christians have an abundance of material possessions, yet they live in a backslidden state. They have
silver and gold, but they don’t rise up and walk in Jesus’ name. In China, we have no possessions to hold us down, so there’s
nothing preventing us from moving out for the Lord. The Chinese church is like Peter at the Beautiful Gate. When he saw the
crippled beggar he said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!”

In a similar way, I pray that God might use the Chinese church to help the Western church rise up and walk in the power of the
Holy Spirit. It’s almost impossible for the church in China to go to sleep in its present situation. There’s always something to
keep us on the run, and it’s very difficult to sleep while you’re running. If persecution stops, I fear we’ll become complacent and fall asleep.

In THE WEST…

Multitudes of church members are satisfied with giving their minimum to God, not their maximum. I’ve watched men and
women during offering time in church. They open their fat wallets and search for the smallest amount they can give. This type of attitude will never do! Jesus gave his whole life for us, and we give as little of our lives, time, and money as we can give back to God. What a disgrace! Repent!

This may sound strange, but I even miss the offerings we used to give in China. On numerous occasions, the leader of a meeting would announce, “We have a new worker who is leaving tomorrow to serve the Lord.” Immediately every single person would completely empty their pockets of everything they had. With that money, the worker would buy a train or bus ticket and leave the next day.

Often this money was not just everything we had in our pockets at that time, but everything we owned in the whole world.

Just because you have a church building doesn’t necessarily mean Jesus is with you. He is not welcome in many churches
today. In Revelation 3:20 Jesus said, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I
will come in and dine with him, and he with me.”

Often this verse is used as an invitation for salvation, but actually the context Jesus was speaking in was very different. He was standing outside the door of the church of Laodicea, knocking to get in!

(-Highly recommended).

I want to remind and ask you all, have you remembered the widows and the orphans this year thus far? We are one week away from the end of the 4th month now. Many of you have supported this cause and I want to thank you on their behalf. I will keep reminding you about this responsibility for the entirety of this year.

2022 is the 6th year of the 4th Sabbatical cycle. And anyone who has been reading our website for any time will know how to prove beyond all doubt when the Sabbatical and Jubilee years are. Once you have done that then you will know when the 3rd and the 6th year of the Sabbatical Cycles are. We are told to raise a tithe every third year for the widow, the orphan and the Levite in your gates.

Here is a very severe warning from Yehovah to each of us.

Exo 22:21  You shall neither vex a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry. And My wrath shall become hot, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your sons fatherless.

We have now sent out  (as of June 20, 2022)  our 4th round of gift offerings that you have sent in for the widows and orphans. We have also supported a couple of other ministries that aid us in doing this work. This will fulfill the Levite part of the commandment. It was our desire to get the funds to them as we are told to do in Deuteronomy.

Deu 14:28  At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up inside your gates.

Deu 14:29  And the Levite, because he has no part nor inheritance with you, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are inside your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

We will soon be making another gift to them. If you do not know of anyone in the faith who is a widow or orphan then you can send it to us. Make sure you write me to let me know that those funds are for the widows and I will see to it they get it. But if you do not write me then I will not know where to apply your donation.

May each one of you who has given to this cause, be blessed as Boaz was blessed by Yehovah for his generosity. May each one of you be known for your support of the laws that will make the Kingdom of Yehovah strong and righteous. And may Yehovah bless you so that what you give is never missed and you never lack for your generosity towards Yehovah’s heart.

Shabbat Zoom Meeting

There are many people in need of fellowship and who are sitting at home on the Sabbath with no one to talk to or debate with. I want to encourage all of you to join us on Shabbat, and to invite others to come and join us as well. If the time is not convenient then you can listen to the teaching and the midrash after on our YouTube channel.

What are we doing and why do we teach this way?

We are going to discuss both sides of an issue and then let you choose. It is the work of the Ruach (Spirit) to direct and to teach you.

The medieval commentator Rashi wrote that the Hebrew word for wrestle (avek) implies that Jacob was “tied”, for the same word is used to describe knotted fringes in a Jewish prayer shawl, the tzitzityot. Rashi says, “thus is the manner of two people who struggle to overthrow each other, that one embraces the other and knots him with his arms”.

Our intellectual wrestling has been replaced by a different kind of struggle. We are Wrestling with Yehovah as we grapple with His Word. It is an intimate act, symbolizing a relationship in which Yehovah and I and you are bound together. My wrestling is a struggle to discover what Yehovah expects of us, and we are “tied” to the One who assists us in that struggle.

Today, many say Israel means “Champion of God”, or better — the “Wrestler of God”.

Our Torah sessions each Shabbat teaches you and encourages you to constantly challenge, question, argue against, as well as view alternative views and explanations of the Word. In other words, we are to “wrestle with the Word” to get to the truth. Jews worldwide believe that you need to wrestle with the Word and constantly challenge Dogma, Theology, and views or else you will never get to the Truth.

We are not like most churches where “The preacher talks and everyone listens.” We encourage everyone to participate, to question and to contribute what they know on the subject being discussed. We want you to be a champion wrestler of the Word of Yehovah. We want you to wear the title of Israel, knowing that you not only know but are capable of explaining why you know the Torah to be true with logic and facts.

We have a few rules though. Let others talk and listen. There is no discussion about UFO’s Nephilim, Vaccines or conspiracy-type subjects. We have people from around the world with different world views. Not everyone cares who is the President of any particular country. Treat each other with respect as Fellow wrestlers of the word. Some of our subjects are hard to understand and require you to be mature and if you do not know, then listen to gain knowledge and understanding and hopefully wisdom. The very things you are commanded to ask Yehovah for and He gives to those who ask.

Jas 1:5  But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.

We hope you can invite those who want to keep Torah to come and join us by hitting the link below. It is almost like a Torah teaching fellowship talk show with people from around the world taking part and sharing their insights and understandings.

We start off with some music and then some prayers and it’s as though you were sitting around the kitchen back in Newfoundland having a cup of coffee and all of us enjoying each other’s company. I hope you will grace us with your company someday.

Sabbath services begin June 25 at 12:30 PM EDT we will be doing prayers songs and teaching from this hour.

Shabbat Services will begin at about 1:15 pm Eastern.

We look forward to you joining our family and getting to know us as we get to know you.

Joseph Dumond is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Septennial Torah Portion

If you go to Torah Portion at our archived section, you can then go to the 6th year which is the 6th year of the Sabbatical Cycle, the one we are in now, as we state at the top of every News Letter. There you can scroll down to June 25, 2022, and see that this Shabbat we could very well be midrashing about:

Leviticus 7

Jeremiah 32-33

Proverbs 19

Acts 16

If you missed last week’s exciting discoveries as we studied that section you can go and watch past Shabbats on our media section.

Numbering Our Days

This past Thursday, June 23, was the 40th day since Moses entered the cloud on top of Mount Sinai. He went into the cloud 7 days after Shavuot and after he and the 70 elders ate the Shavuot meal with Yehovah in person.

What does this mean? I do not know, but I am merely recording it and watching. And I am keeping in mind the things Cyrus warned us about concerning the increase in the intensity of the crazy cycle which he says will be ratcheting up and peaking this fall. We had an urgent meeting this past Wednesday, June 22, as Mark had discovered some things about the dates I have been asking about. All I can say is WOW. Let me share a clue or two with you.

Clue # 1: Torah Calendar says that on August 17/18 it will be new moon day in 2023. If we are one month ahead again in 2023 as we have been for the past 3 years then this does get exciting as that would be the Feast of Trumpets 2023.

Clue #2:

Here is clue # 3. In our last meeting, I spoke about the abomination of desolation that was to be set up. Watch the last video again and take more notes so you’re ready for our next video meeting scheduled for July 6, 2022.

Our book The Restoration of All  Things is almost ready to be released. Once we do that then we will begin to get the final edits done on the second book in our 3 book series titled, The Abomination That Makes Desolate, which is going to shock and awe many of you. I am going to have to add this new information.

How is that for a bunch of teasers?

At this meeting, on Wednesday, Cyrus was adamant about June 29, 2022, and that something big was about to take place with the financial markets. I mention this again now because of the timing of everything I am sharing about this time right now. So we are watching.

On May 14, 2022, we had a blood moon eclipse.

Then on June 14, 2022, we had what is called a strawberry moon.

Then on June 17, June 20 and again this Thursday morning June 23, as I looked at the planets before sunrise, on each of those nights I saw the waning crescent of the moon and each time it was red as it rose in the east. (Friday morning after 3 am, I looked again and the crescent moon was red as it rose up from the horizon.) We cannot blame this on wildfires as there are hardly any right now. And it was not in eclipse as the full moon was on June 14, 2022. The skies were clear on each of those mornings I looked out.

I am going to try and get this Newsletter done and out early on Thursday so you can take advantage of the following information before sunrise Friday morning.

View across the solar system

This month, all seven planets line up, joined by the Moon. Pull out binoculars or a small scope to spot Uranus and Neptune.

Astronomy: Roen Kelly

Friday, June 24

If you’re only willing to get up early one morning this week, it should be today: Early risers now have a unique view out across the solar system in the predawn sky, as the five classical planets — plus our Moon — line up in order of distance from the Sun.

By about 50 minutes before sunrise, the entire tableau is on display, stretching some 106° along the ecliptic. Let’s start with Mercury, which is last to rise and now glows at magnitude –0.1 about 3.7° above the horizon. The small planet sits 3.5° northeast of Aldebaran, whose orangey light may just be visible in the growing twilight.

Next is Venus, 10° west of Mercury. It’s the brightest of the lot by far at magnitude –3.9. Venus now hangs nearly 6° southeast of the Pleiades, while the thin crescent Moon, next in line from the Sun, lies in Aries the Ram, 20° west of Venus.

Then comes Mars, now nearly 19.5° west of the Moon and still glowing at magnitude 0.5. Jupiter, which has brightened slightly to magnitude –2.4, is 15.5° west of Mars, right at the border between Pisces and Cetus. It’s sitting about 16° directly above 3rd-magnitude Dheneb (Eta [η] Ceti, not to be confused with Deneb [Alpha Cygni] in Cygnus). And topping off our view across our star system is magnitude 0.5 Saturn, 42° west of Jupiter and located just northeast of Deneb Algedi in Capricornus.

Situated between the naked-eye planets are the ice giants, meaning every single planet is visible this morning if you’ve got some binoculars on hand. Uranus’ dim, tiny disk sits in Aries the Ram, located between Venus and the Moon. It’s some 6° east of our satellite before dawn; the Moon will pass 0.05° due south of Uranus later today at 6 P.M. EDT. Neptune’s magnitude 7.8 disk is 11.5° west of Jupiter this morning, located in western Pisces.

On June 25, 2022, on Shabbat, we will be just 14 days away from the auspicious date of the 9th of Av. As I showed you in last week’s newsletter just as it was in the days before Moses came down from Mount Sinai, the Israelites were dancing naked in front of Aaron. A very similar event is taking place now in the month of June around the world.

Although I can’t prove it, I wonder if the Baal Peor incident and Phineas killing Zimri the Simeonite Prince and his Midianite lover, Cozbi, took place at this same time in the 38th year of Israel’s wandering in the wilderness.

One last point. This year beginning on January 4, 2022, the DOW has dropped over 7000 points including the over 3000 points it has dropped since June 7, 2022. The inflation rate in the USA was set at 8.6% in June. They are now calling for a recession in 2022 and 2023. Gas prices are still extremely  high. Food prices are soaring. Droughts in the USA are here again. The COVID crisis death rates have dropped but they expect it to surge again this fall and winter as mutants form. Extreme weather events continue to increase in the number of them and the severity. The war in Ukraine threatens to expand into Europe and the NATO countries including the USA. Iran is still negotiating to be released from the Trump sanctions. Israel’s government just failed for the 5th time in 3 years. 2000 head of cattle die in one night from heat exhaustion. The UN, as does this article from the 23rd of June, warns of major famines around the world in 2022/2023 due in part to the war in Ukraine.

Wildfire season has turned into wildfire years and they are increasing in both number and severity.

OK, I will stop. That was more than one more thing. But here is the point. Since 2019 with the wildfires in Australia followed by COVID being declared a worldwide pandemic on March 11, 2020, the day we kept Passover, Yehovah has not given us one moments rest. Yes Yehovah is sending all of these things against us. Our anxiety levels keep going up.

Yehovah has become our enemy. Or at least the enemy of Israel and those who rebel against His Torah.

Isa 63:7  I will mention the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah, the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah has benefited for us, and the great good to the house of Israel by which He benefited them according to His mercies, and according to the multitude of His loving-kindnesses.

Isa 63:8  For He said, Surely they are My people, sons that will not lie; so He was their Savior.

Isa 63:9  In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

Isa 63:10  But they rebelled, and troubled His Holy Spirit; therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.

Isa 63:11  Then He remembered the days of old, Moses and His people, saying, Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within him;

Isa 63:12  who led them by the right hand of Moses with His glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting name?

We were warned about grieving the Holy Spirit.

Eph 4:30  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption.

When we grieve the Holy Spirit, you had better run……

Lam 2:1  How the Lord has covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in His anger! He cast down the beauty of Israel from the heavens to the earth and remembered not His footstool in the day of His anger.

Lam 2:2  The Lord swallowed up all the dwelling-places of Jacob and has not pitied. In His wrath He has thrown down the strongholds of the daughter of Judah; He has brought them down to the ground. He has defiled the kingdom and its rulers.

Lam 2:3  He has cut off all the horn of Israel in His fierce anger; He has drawn back His right hand from before the enemy, and He burned against Jacob like flaming fire which devours all around.

Lam 2:4  He has bent His bow like an enemy; He stood with His right hand like an adversary, and killed all who were desirable to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion. He poured out His fury like fire.

Lam 2:5  Jehovah was like an enemy; He swallowed up Israel; He has swallowed up all her palaces, and destroyed His strongholds. And He has increased mourning and weeping in the daughter of Judah.

Lam 2:6  And He violated His booth like a garden, and destroyed His meeting places. Jehovah caused the meeting places and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and He despised the king and the priest in the fury of His anger.

Jer 30:12  For so says Jehovah, Your break cannot be cured, and your wound is grievous.

Jer 30:13  There is none to plead your cause; for your ulcer there are no healing medicines for you.

Jer 30:14  All your lovers have forgotten you; they do not seek you. For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of your iniquity; because your sins are many.

Jer 30:15  Why do you cry over your crushing? Your pain is incurable, for the greatness of your iniquity; because your sins are many, I have done these things to you.

When we look at the nightly news and see all these things happening and how we just go from one disaster to another. We have no time to mourn before the next thing strikes. These are the curses from Yehovah by which we have been warning you were coming and are now here.

No one repents! NO ONE!

And because no one will repent, look again to Leviticus 26 to learn what is coming next. Before you do though read the list of curses and compare them to the many one more things I shared above. Do they not sound the very same?

Lev 26:14  But if you will not listen to Me, and will not do all these commandments,

Lev 26:15  and if you shall despise My statutes, or if your soul hates My judgments, so that you will not do all My commandments, so that you break My covenant;

Lev 26:16  I will also do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, consumption, and burning fever, consuming the eyes and causing sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

Lev 26:17  And I will set My face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies. They that hate you shall reign over you. And you shall flee when none pursues you.

Lev 26:18  And if you will not yet listen to Me for all this, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.

Lev 26:19  And I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your heaven like iron and your earth like bronze.

Lev 26:20  And your strength shall be spent in vain. For your land shall not yield its increase, neither shall the trees of the field yield their fruits.

Lev 26:21  And if you walk contrary to Me, and will not listen to Me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.

Lev 26:22  I will also send wild beasts among you, who shall bereave you. And I will destroy your cattle, and make you few. And your highways shall be deserted.

Lev 26:23  And if you will not be reformed by Me by these things, but will still walk contrary to Me,

This is what is coming next. All of the things above have already happened and will continue to happen along with what is coming next.

Lev 26:24   then I will walk contrary to you and will punish you seven times more for your sins.

Lev 26:25  And I will bring a sword on you that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant. And when you are gathered inside your cities, I will send the plague among you. And you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

Lev 26:26  When I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight. And you shall eat and not be satisfied.

Lev 26:27  And if you will not for all of this listen to Me, but will walk contrary to Me,

Lev 26:28  then I will walk contrary to you also in fury. And I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

Lev 26:29  And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters you shall eat.

Lev 26:30  And I will destroy your high places and cut down your images, and throw your carcasses on the carcasses of your idols, and My soul shall despise you.

Lev 26:31  And I will make your cities waste and cause your sanctuaries to be deserted. And I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors.

Lev 26:32  And I will turn the land into wasteland. And your enemies who dwell in it shall be astonished at it.

Lev 26:33  And I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out a sword after you. And your land shall be waste, and your cities waste.

Lev 26:34  Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths, as long as it lies waste, and you are in your enemies’ land; then shall the land rest and enjoy its sabbaths.

The Land Sabbath, The Holy Days at the proper time, and the weekly Sabbath. They are the base by which the Kingdom of Yehovah is ruled. When are we all going to obey Him and do these simple things?

Lev 26:35  As long as it lies waste it shall rest, because it did not rest in your sabbaths when you lived on it.

Lev 26:36  And on those of you that are left I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them, and they shall flee as if fleeing from a sword. And they shall fall when none pursues.

Lev 26:37  And they shall fall on one another, as if it were before a sword, when none pursues. And you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

Lev 26:38  And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

Lev 26:39  And they that are left of you shall putrefy in their iniquity in the lands of your enemies. And also they shall putrefy with them in the iniquities of their fathers.

But there is still hope for those who repent. Compare the rest of Leviticus 26 with the first three verses of Deuteronomy 30.

Deu 30:1  And it shall be when all these things have come on you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and when you shall call them to mind among all the nations where Jehovah your God has driven you,

Deu 30:2  and shall return to Jehovah your God and shall obey His voice according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, with all your heart, and with all your soul,

Deu 30:3  then Jehovah your God will turn your captivity. And He will have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the nations where Jehovah your God has scattered you.

Lev 26:40  If they shall confess their willfulness and the willfulness of their fathers, with their sin which they sinned against Me, and that also they have walked contrary to Me,

Lev 26:41  I also will walk contrary to them and will bring them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they then pay for their iniquity,

Lev 26:42  then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham I will remember. And I will remember the land.

Lev 26:43  The land also shall be forsaken by them, and shall enjoy its sabbaths, while it lies waste without them. And they shall accept the punishment of their iniquities; because, even because they despised My judgments, and because their soul hated My statutes.

Lev 26:44  And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I hate them, to destroy them utterly and to break My covenant with them. For I am Jehovah their God.

Lev 26:45  But for their sakes, I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, so that I might be their God. I am Jehovah.

Lev 26:46  These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which Jehovah made between Him and the sons of Israel in Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

It is with all of this in mind that I remind you of the time. Of the end of the 40 days of Moses on Mount Sinai and now just two weeks away from the 9th of Av.

The New moon of the 5th month will begin on June 30th at sunset.

Then 9 days later is the 9th of Ave.

The 9th Of Av

With the 9th of the 5th month just two weeks away, I have for you the history of the 9th of Av and why you should remember this date. This date begins the 40 days of mourning in Jewish tradition for the destruction of both Temples.

This year the 9th of Av is on August 7th, 2022 on the Hebrew Calendar. But for us it will be July 8-9th, 2022 on the Sighted Moon Barley Calendar.

It was on this date that many things in History took place which has caused us to mourn;

  • The Rebellion of the 10 spies, which incurred the curse of wandering in the wilderness for 40 years until they had all died.
  • The destruction of Solomon’s Temple
  • The Destruction of Herod’s Temple all took place at this same time.

I am going to also include here the fall of Samaria, although I have no exact date. Historians agree that Hoshea stopped tribute to the Assyrians in the 4th month of the year 726 BC which then resulted in the siege of Samaria for 3 three years by Shalmaneser until Samaria fell in 723 BC and Hosea was arrested and later died in prison.

2Ki 17:1  In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, nine years.

2Ki 17:2  And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, but not like the kings of Israel who were before him.

2Ki 17:3  Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against him. And Hoshea became his servant and gave him taxes.

2Ki 17:4  And the king of Assyria found treachery in Hoshea, for he had sent messengers to So, king of Egypt, and had brought no taxes to the king of Assyria, as before, year by year. And the king of Assyria shut him up and bound him in prison.

2Ki 17:5  And the king of Assyria went up into all the land. And he went up to Samaria and besieged it three years.

We remember this day whether you are a Jew or you are part of the Ten Tribes or a Gentile, it matters not. A great tragedy took place on this date.

2730 years after being expelled from Israel the curse of Ezekiel`s 390 year X 7 prophecy, which began around the captivity in 723 BC. If we begin this curse with the siege and death of Hosea then it ends in 2005 if we use the traditional date of the fall of Samaria in 721 then it ends in 2010. Whichever date you use, the Ten Northern tribes of Israel can return back to the Land of Israel. It is interesting to note that Sightedmoon.com began in 2005 with our understanding of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. We are currently reexamining this prophecy as what I just said is full of holes. But that is the current thinking.

So here is a more complete list of significant events on this date in Jewish history and why it is a time of mourning for the nation of Israel:

Av 9, 1377 BC – The ten spies brought the bad report leading to the wilderness wandering.
723 BC Samaria falls to Assyria Actual date not known Captivity begins 721 BC
Av 9, 586 BC – Babylonians destroy Solomon’s temple.
Av 9, 70 AD – Romans destroy 2nd temple.
Av 9, 135 AD – The Bar Kochba revolt was crushed by Roman Emperor Hadrian. The city of Betar — the Jews’ last stand against the Romans — was captured and liquidated. Over 100,000 Jews were slaughtered.
Av 9, 1290 AD – July 25, 1290 Jews forced out of England.
Av 9, 1492 AD – August 11, 1492 Jews forced out of Spain.
Av 9, 1914 AD – August 1, 1914 World War I Began (The immediate cause of the war was the June 28, 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, by Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian Serb citizen of Austria-Hungary and member of the Black Hand. Wikipedia On August 1, 1914 Germany declared war on Russia)
Av 9, 1942 AD – July 23, 1942 – Treblinka extermination camp opened in occupied Poland, east of Warsaw. The camp is fitted with two buildings containing 10 gas chambers, each holding 200 persons. Carbon monoxide gas is piped in from engines placed outside the chamber, but Zyklon-B will later be substituted. Bodies are burned in open pits.
Av 9, 2005 AD – Starting at midnight on August 14, 2005, the entry and presence of Israeli citizens in the areas to be evacuated was prohibited under paragraph 22A of the Implementation of the Disengagement Plan Law 2005. Disengagement from the Gaza Strip was completed on August 22, and from northern Samaria on August 23, 2005.

This is why we read Lamentations at this time.

To understand the root of all of these calamities we must investigate the first event that took place on the 9th of Av. In this week’s Torah portion, Moses starts his final speech to the Israelite people where he rebukes them for their various mistakes and shortcomings throughout the forty years of wandering in the wilderness. One of the incidents of rebuke concerned the sending of the spies. Upon their return, the majority of the spies gave a negative report. This made the Israelite people nervous, and they did not want to proceed into the land of Israel. As it says, (Devarim 1:26-28): “And you did not want to ascend, and you rebelled against the word of HASHEM your G’d. You spoke evil in your tents and you said, ‘Because G’d hates us He took us out from the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hands of the Emorite to destroy us. To where shall we ascend? … A people greater and taller than we …:”

Time of weeping

Earlier (Bamidbar 14:1) the Torah related the return of the spies and the reaction of the people: “The entire assembly raised their voice and the people wept on that night.” Our sages (Taanis 29a) explain that it was the night of the 9th of Av when the Israelite people wept and G’d declared, “You were weeping without a cause. This night will be established as a time of weeping throughout the generations.”

Mind-boggling

It is mind-boggling how a small group of Israelite leaders could cause a whole nation to lose their faith in G’d who had taken them out of Egypt, split the Red Sea, and revealed Himself at Mount Sinai. As Moses responded (Devarim 1:30-33) “Don’t be broken and don’t fear them. HASHEM your G’d, Who goes ahead of you, He will fight for you, like all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes. And as you have seen in the wilderness that HASHEM your G’d carried you as a man carries his son. And in this matter, you don’t trust HASHEM your G’d?” How can people who experienced daily miracles with the Manna falling from Heaven to sustain them, and the well of Miriam following them throughout their journey in the wilderness, as well as the Clouds of Glory protecting them from their enemies and natural dangers, suddenly lose faith in the One who provided all these constant miracles? How could they even consider that G’d hated them, or, as our sages explain, that they feared that G’d did not have the power to conquer the land of Israel for them?

We also have the Temple again being destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. Why did Yehovah allow this a second time?

You have the curse coming on Israel the first time for not having Faith in Yehovah. You have the Temple being destroyed at this time in 586 BC because they were not obeying Yehovah. And we have the Temple destroyed in 70 AD. because they did not have a love for one another. In 2022, what is going on? Do you see a pattern?

The Romans Destroy the Temple

In the year 66 AD the Jews of Judea rebelled against their Roman masters. In response, the Emperor Nero dispatched an army under the generalship of Vespasian to restore order. By the year 68, resistance in the northern part of the province had been eradicated and the Romans turned their full attention to the subjugation of Jerusalem. That same year, the Emperor Nero died by his own hand, creating a power vacuum in Rome. In the resultant chaos, Vespasian was declared Emperor and returned to the Imperial City. It fell to his son, Titus, to lead the remaining army in the assault on Jerusalem.

The Roman legions surrounded the city and began to slowly squeeze the life out of the Jewish stronghold. By the year 70, the attackers had breached Jerusalem’s outer walls and began a systematic ransacking of the city. The assault culminated in the burning and destruction of the Temple that served as the center of Judaism.

In victory, the Romans slaughtered thousands. Of those spared from death: thousands more were enslaved and sent to toil in the mines of Egypt, others were dispersed to arenas throughout the Empire to be butchered for the amusement of the public. The Temple’s sacred relics were taken to Rome where they were displayed in celebration of the victory.

The rebellion sputtered on for another three years and was finally extinguished in 73 AD with the fall of the various pockets of resistance including the stronghold at Masada.

What was the problem with the 10 spies?

Sat 17 June 2017 / 23 Sivan 5777 B”H Dr Maurice M. Mizrahi
Congregation Adat Reyim
Torah discussion on Shlach Lecha

What did the spies do wrong? Introduction

-Moses sends 12 spies to scout the land of Israel, at the request of the people [Deut. 1:22], who are not ready to accept God’s statement that the land is good and that He will grant them victory against its inhabitants.
-Ten of the 12 spies bring back an alarming report about the strength of the enemy and say that he cannot be defeated, which demoralizes the people. -God gets angry and decrees a forty-year wandering so the offenders will die before reaching the land.

What did the spies do wrong? Didn’t they do what spies are supposed to do?

The Lord spoke to Moses saying, “Send out for yourself men who will scout the Land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel… So Moses sent… [twelve] righteous men of distinction [including Joshua and Caleb]… Moses… said to them: …
“[Find out:] What [kind of] land is it? Are the people who inhabit it strong or weak? Are there few or many? [Is] the land… good or bad? [Are] the cities in camps or in fortresses? Is the soil fat or lean? Are there any trees in it or not?”

So they went up and explored the land… and returned… forty days later. They… came to Moses and Aaron and all… of Israel and [ten of the twelve spies] reported:

“…The land… is flowing with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
However, the inhabitants are mighty, and the cities are extremely huge and fortified… We are unable to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we… The land… consumes its inhabitants, and all the people we saw in it are men of stature… giants… descended from the giants. In our eyes, we seemed like grasshoppers, and so were we in their eyes.”

[Numbers 13:1-33]

The entire community raised their voices and shouted, and the people wept on that night. [They] complained against Moses and Aaron… saying,

“…Why does the Lord bring us to this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be as spoils. Is it not better for us to return to Egypt? … Let us appoint a leader and return to Egypt!” Moses and Aaron fell on their faces… and Joshua and Caleb [the two dissenting spies] tore their clothes and said: “The land… is exceedingly good… The Lord… will bring us there and give it to us… Do not fear the inhabitants because… their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”

The entire congregation threatened to pelt them with stones… The Lord said to Moses:

“How long will this people provoke Me? How much longer will they not believe in Me after all the signs I have performed in their midst? I will strike them with a plague and annihilate them…”

Moses said…
“But [then] the nations… will say… ‘Since the Lord lacked the ability to [give Israel the land] He slaughtered them in the desert…’ Please forgive…”

And the Lord said:
“I… forgive… However… how much longer will I have to put up with this evil congregation? … All those from the age of twenty and up… shall [not] come into the Land… except Caleb and Joshua… I will bring [your infants there]… but as for you, your corpses shall fall in this desert [after] wandering for forty years.”

[The ten spies] who spread an evil report about the Land died in a plague… The people said: …

“We are ready to go up to the place of which the Lord spoke, for we have

sinned.” [Numbers 14:1-40]

The spies’ report came on the 9th of Av. Mishna: Every major disaster in Jewish history is connected to this date, beginning with the incident of the spies. [Taanit 4:6]

What did the spies do wrong?

They scared and demoralized the people.

Counter: 39 years later, Moses himself said the same to their children, as they were about to enter the Promised Land:

You will be coming to conquer nations that are greater and more powerful than you, with great cities, fortified to the skies. They are a great nation, as tall as giants… [Deut. 9:1-2]

Counter-counter: Moses was saying that to young men, to bring some realism into their enthusiasm.
They doubted God’s power. Their very mission implied doubt about the value of God’s gift and God’s ability to deliver it.
-God said “Send for yourself”, meaning “I am not commanding you, but if you wish, you may send.” Indeed, the people had come to Moses asking for that. [Deut. 1:22]

-Talmud: God told Moses, “I told them that the land is good. By their lives! Now I will give them the opportunity to fall into error through the words of the spies, so that they will not inherit it.” [Sotah 34b, Midrash Tanchuma, Shlach 5] -But spying for military preparations is OK. The Torah does not tell us to rely on miracles. It’s the spies’ presentation that was not OK. [Ramban]

They thought God may have changed His mind.

The spies reasoned that since Israel had sinned with the Golden Calf and in many places, God may not honor His promise of the land.

They asked themselves: “Why is God treating us like royalty when we are not deserving of such treatment?” Because of their sense of unworthiness the Jewish people could not have absolute trust in God. [Chafetz Chayyim]

They did not do a thorough job.

-Moses had tasked the spies: Find out if the people who inhabit the land are strong or weak. Implies physically and morally.
They did not report (or did not try to find out) what the inhabitants thought of them. Forty years later, Rahav in Jericho tells the spies sent by Joshua that the inhabitants feared Israel:

I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that a great fear of you has fallen upon us. All the inhabitants of the land faint because of you… As soon as we heard [of the miracles God performed for you] our hearts melted, no courage remained in any man, because of you. [Joshua 2:9-11].

-And the Jews themselves knew that. Earlier, in their Song at the Sea, they had said:

The people of Canaan will melt away. Terror and dread will fall on them. [Ex. 15:15-16]

-The spies made unwarranted assumptions. They said: “In our eyes, we

seemed like grasshoppers, and so were we in their eyes.” In Talmud,

Rabbi Mesharsheya asks:
The spies were liars. As regards “In our eyes, we seemed like grasshoppers”, very well; but how could they know that “so were we in their eyes”? [Sotah 35a]

How did the spies know how the inhabitants saw ISrael?

Being former slaves, they were fearful.

Their fear was greater than their faith, because they had been slaves. They were not ready to fight battles and be free in their own land. That would take a new generation, born in freedom. [Rambam, Guide for the Perplexed 3:32]

They wanted to continue to live in the desert, in isolation with a direct spiritual connection to God.
Hassidic masters: The spies did not doubt Israel could win battles, they just did not want to lose their unique relationship with God in the desert, removed from civilization and its problems. They did not want to become just another nation. They were not ready to “leave home and launch”.

But God wanted engagement with the world, not retreat from it. [Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi]

They went beyond their mission.

Spies are only supposed to provide hard information dispassionately. They have no business coloring their report with alarmist language or advising on a course of action. [Ramban on Num. 13:1, 13:27; Akeidat Yitzchak (Rabbi Yitzchak Arama, 15th- century Spain and Italy); Malbim on Num. 13:2]

They reported to the whole people.

Spies are supposed to report only to the leaders, not to the whole people!

The leaders then decide what to disclose, to whom and when. [Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch, 19th century Germany]

They spoke lashon hara against the land and God.

The Talmud says:
-It was taught: Rabbi Eleazar ben Perata said, “Come and see how great is the power of an evil tongue! From where do we know [its power]? From the spies, because if this is what happens to those who bring an evil report against wood and stones, how much more will it happen to one who brings an evil report against his neighbor!”
How does it follow? Perhaps it is as explained by Rabbi Hanina ben Papa… who said: “A stark thing did the spies say in that hour, as it is written: ‘For they are stronger than we.’” [The implication being “stronger than God”, since God is with us.] [Arachin 15a]
-Rabbi Yochanan said in the name of Rabbi Meir: The spies began with a true report and then spoke ill, because any piece of slander needs some truth in the beginning to be heard through to the end. [Sotah 35a]

They were affected by their people’s attitude.

When one represents another, he is affected by the mindset of that other. Israel was distrustful of Hashem, and this colored the spies’ judgment.

Today we are just about to begin the greatest event in history and many of you are scared to move forward. We shared with you last week about the Second Great Exodus that is going to take place in the very near future. But first, there must be another great captivity, which means that many millions in the 12 tribes of Israel are about to die.

The Lord Will Restore Israel

Eze 20:33  As I live, says the Lord Jehovah, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, I will reign over you.

Eze 20:34  And I will bring you out from the people, and I will gather you out of the lands in which you are scattered among them, with a mighty hand and with a stretched out arm and with fury poured out.

Eze 20:35  And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face.

Eze 20:36  Just as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, says the Lord Jehovah.

Eze 20:37  And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

Eze 20:38  And I will purge out from among you the rebels and those who sin against Me. I will bring them out from the land where they reside, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am Jehovah.

Eze 20:39  And you, O house of Israel, so says the Lord Jehovah: Every man go and serve his idols, and do so from now on if you will not listen to Me. But never again defile My holy name with your gifts and with your idols.

Brethren these are very strong words to ponder. And when you consider just who that rod is that you will pass under….

Isa 10:3  And what will you do in the day of judgment and in destruction, of ruin when it comes from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?

Isa 10:4  Surely they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. In all this His hand is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Judgment on Arrogant Assyria

Isa 10:5  Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger! And the staff in their hand is My fury.

Isa 10:6  I will send him against an ungodly nation, and against the people of My wrath. I will command him to take the plunder, and to strip off the spoil, and to trample them like the mud of the streets.

Isa 10:7  Yet he does not plan this, nor does his heart think so. For it is in his heart to destroy and cut off not a few nations.

The nations of Israel are about to pass under the Rod of the Assyrians. What this means is that every tenth one is holy or set apart while the other nine are for slaughter.

Isa 13:6  Howl! For the day of Jehovah is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

Isa 13:7  Therefore all hands shall be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt;

Isa 13:8  and they shall be afraid. Pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them. They shall be in pain like a woman who travails. They shall be amazed at one another, their faces like flames.

Isa 13:9  Behold, the day of Jehovah comes, cruel and with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land waste; and He shall destroy its sinners out of it.

Isa 13:10  For the stars of the heavens and their constellations shall not give light; the sun shall be darkened in its going forth, and the moon shall not reflect its light.

Isa 13:11  And I will visit evil on the world, and their iniquity on the wicked. And I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will lay low the pride of tyrants.

Isa 13:12  I will make a man more precious than gold; even a man than the fine gold of Ophir.

I believed it was to begin in 2020. Instead, we were sent COVID. Now the nations of Israel seem to be coming out of the COVID curse as more and more are being vaccinated. The economies are opening up. President Biden has pledged a billion dollars so the rest of the world can get vaccinated and then we can return back to normal. Or the way we were in 2019.

But not one of the 12 tribes of Israel is repenting. No not even one of the states or any of the provinces in any of the 12 tribes are falling on their faces and praying to Yehovah asking for forgiveness and then turning and returning to keeping the Torah. No NOT ONE!

There is no one calling for fasting and prayers at this time.

Brethren, you know these things. I have explained this and much more to you many times now over the past 17 years, through videos, books and endless newsletters. You all know and understand just how few years are left in this 6th Millennial day. You all know.

And you all know what you are being told to do in order to protect yourself and your loved ones from the fury of Yehovah that is coming.

Lev 26:23  And if you will not be reformed by Me by these things, but will still walk contrary to Me,

Isa 26:20  Come, my people, enter into your rooms and shut your doors around you; hide for a little moment, until the fury has passedby.

I have told you many times to look up the Hebrew word for rooms and to compare it to the Kedar in Isaiah 42.

Isa 42:11  Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, the villages where Kedar dwells. Let the dwellers of the rock sing, let them shout from the mountain tops.

Yehovah has called you and brought you to this site and to understand the things we have taught you here at sightedmoon.com. Yehovah brought you here. Yehovah gave you this understanding. He called you to this point to do a work. He has called you and blessed you to be able to help do this end-time work.

So I have to ask you. Why do so many of you sit there with your talent, whether one two or five talents all stuck safely away in your pockets? Why are you not helping us to do this work? Why do many of you waste your time studying things that just do not matter?

I wrote you earlier this year an article “So Now What?”. In it, I told you what I was going to do. I am charging ahead and I will prepare that room, that chamber, that Chedar.

We also just published a video this past week. Aleph Bet Gimel Dalet and Chet. I have not heard any of you comment on it. I think you all should go and watch it if not for the first time then watch it again a second time. You did not get the connections. I think the connections we make in this video are absolutely stunning.

Again I tell you to look up the Hebrew word Chedar in Isaiah 26:20. Here is the Pictograph meaning of the word. Chet Dalet Rosh.

2150) Rdh% (Rdh% HhDR) ac: Surround co: Chamber ab: ?:The surrounding walls of a chamber providing privacy and security. [from: dh – as surrounded by walls with a door]

V) Rdh% (Rdh% Hh-DR) – Surround: To encircle. [freq. 1] (vf: Paal) |kjv: enter| {H2314}

Nm) Rdh% (Rdh% Hh-DR) – Chamber: A place surrounded by walls. An inner place as hidden or secret. [freq. 38] |kjv: chamber, inner, inward, innermost, parlour, south, within| {H2315}

Mat 13:34  Jesus spoke all these things to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak to them without a parable,

Mat 13:35  so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.”

I wonder at times why I bother to share these things with you all. And then I am reminded of the things I said to Yehovah way back in 2005 when I said here I am, send me, to speak about the Jubilee Cycles. When I read the rest of the verse in Isaiah I am saddened to know these things are coming true. People get excited but will not change and will not return to Yehovah and be healed. Maybe this is why so few step forward and help to do this work. They have faith but no works.

Isa 6:8  And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me!

Isa 6:9  And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know.

Isa 6:10  Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed.

Isa 6:11  Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation,

Isa 6:12  and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Isa 6:13  But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return and be consumed like the terebinth and like the oak being felled, yet has its stump; the holy seed is its stump.

Israel did not believe Yehovah would do mighty works for them so that they could have entered the land two years after the Exodus. And because of that, they had to spend the next 40 years waiting in the wilderness for that whole generation to die.

You have a decision to make. You get to choose which way you will go. Or you can come up with all sorts of excuses and logical reasons for going back to Egypt. But they all come down to one explanation. You have no faith in Yehovah.

I have no clue how this is all going to work out. I do know how little time it left. And I read the scriptures the same as you can. I am choosing to use the knowledge the scriptures has given us and to help be part of preparing a people that have a job to do. And at the same time get myself and my family out of the line of fire that is soon going to begin.

Dont think Joe, what you do to educate the brethren is for nothing. There are people out here that do appreciate all you and your crew . Never forget that. When I go for a walk there may be a barking angry dog up ahead. I pray for protection and Yehovah closes the dogs mouth, till I pass, which happened today.Trust in Him. We do see, we do hear and understand It is a hard road we all walk, but we can do with Yehovahs help. Phyllis Mannering.

Did wonder if David a man after Yah’s heart ever kept the Land Sabbath’s? Maybe my math is wrong but wasn’t the 70 years in Babylon 1 year of punishment for each Sabbatical ignored. 490 years of neglect. How are we to understand that?
    Any ideas?
