Moon NOT Sighted-May Your Name be Found

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,

May your Name be found in the Book of Life.

The New Moon Has NOT Been Sighted

Shalom Brethren the sighting of the new moon this year to begin the 7th month has been a very difficult one to see.

I am going to share with you, each of the following reports. I was also watching live with Kenny Russel’s live stream and he was not able to site it from Caesarea on the Mediterranean Sea.

Hi all! Please note: THERE HAS NOT BEEN REPORT OF NEW MOON SIGHTING YET

Kenny Russell attepted to sight from Caesarea, Israel was unsuccessful

Becca Biderman and a girl named Shoshanna attempted to sight it from Poriya Illit. They both saw it with an optical aid, but please know that Becca did not sight it by naked eye, and Shoshanna, being a new sighter, would not feel comfortable testifying in a court that she saw it 100% though she thinks she did.

Still awaiting further reports from other sighters

So we have 1 witness who will not testify in a court of law she did see it and another who saw it only using binoculars.

Yoel Halevi reports:

This evening, the 10th of September 2018, after sunset I attempted to sight the moon. This was a difficult sighting and I was able determine the position of the moon with binoculars at around 7:26pm local time. However, seeing the moon with the naked eye was a big challenge, and I’m 100% sure I was able to see it. However, I cannot base any final conclusion based on what I saw. My oldest son was able to detect the moon with the binoculars, but not with the naked eye.
The binoculars sighting is 100% correct, but the naked I can be challenged.
I am convinced that under crystal clear sky the moon would have been much easier to see. Unfortunately this was not the case in my area.
Due to the conditions, taking a photo was extremely difficult, and would have probably not given us anything.
The only thing left to do from my position is to wait and hear from others.

From northern Israel,
Yoel

So although Yoel saw it and says he was 100% sure he saw it, he is our only witness.

We also had many people from South Africa sight the moon. But they are not in Israel.

And we now have this report from Devorah.

Dear Friends,
As we mentioned when we sent out the information on When and Where to Look for the New Moon tonight, this sighting was a very difficult one. As of this writing, we are not aware of any concrete positive sightings of the new moon from Israel with the naked eye. If no positive reports come in from tonight’s observation, the month will begin tomorrow evening (11 September 2018), as a lunar month cannot be more than 30 days. We will of course send out an update should we receive any positive reports before then, so be sure to subscribe to receive these reports directly to your inbox.

So brethren we have had an exciting evening trying to learn if the Feast Day begins at Sunset of Sept 10 or whether it will be at sunset of Sept 11. As for me because we do not have two reliable witnesses the Feast of Yom Teruah will begin at Sunset Sept 11.
This is the day no man can know and Yehovah has once again demonstrated that to us this evening. So we must obey and change our plans for each of the Holy Days and the time we will be off from work. This is also the reason in the past and present whey Judah kept the Feast of Trumpets for two days. Because they just did not know.

Here are the fall Holy Day dates. Note, all of these dates begin the evening before.

Feast of Trumpets- Yom Teruah 1st day of the Seventh Month Wednesday, September 12, 2018 – Begins Sunset night before
Day of Atonement- Yom Kippur 10th Day of the Seventh Month Friday, September 21, 2018 – Begins Sunset night before
Feast of Sukkot- Feast of Tabernacles 15th day of the Seventh Month Wednesday, September 26, 2018 – Begins Sunset night before
8th Day Feast-Feast of Dedication 22nd Day of the Seventh Month Wednesday, October 3, 2018 – Begins Sunset night before

And just as I posted this News Letter this follow up report comes in.

UPDATE from Yoel Halevi:

A clarification:

First I have to ask everyone to not try and send me messages. I usually shut down during Shabbat and feasts.

Second, due to the fact that no one has come forward with a testimony of an accurate sighting the situation remains in my opinion indeterminate. Though I am convinced that I saw the moon with the naked eye, I would prefer at least one more person who can say they saw it. As I’ve disclosed in the past I’m not sure we actually need two witnesses for the moon, but in this case I cannot give any decisive decision due to the degree of difficulty in the sighting.

Third, I am hoping that maybe someone might give a testimony in the next couple of days. There are sighters which don’t use their phones or computers during a feast and Shabbat. Hence I am not doing any work from tonight and will be observing the feast on the side of caution.

An Exciting Update from the Philippines

I received this note from Brother Aike last Sabbath and it cannot wait until next Sabbath to share.

We are again helping him in this work in Mindanao. We do so with our teachings and the lessons on our website. We have also sponsored ad campaigns that have done very well in each city we have posted them and they, in turn, have generated new people to have our Newsletters. About 6000 new people this past year alone. But like Aike is saying in this report we have no teachers in this area. Bro Matt Samario has left to return to the USA after two months of teaching after I left there after Passover. I will be meeting Matt in Jerusalem for Sukkot. Sister Corette who was also there at this time will also be in Jerusalem and I hope to gather more information from her at that time. I am considering how it could be possible for me to teach there full time.

There is much more work to be done and we really do need your help. Brother Aike is asking for help from us and our piggy bank is now once again broke. Those of you who have faithfully donated each and every month, I do thank you for allowing us the means to do this work. As Brother Aike reminds me, it is Yehovah’s work, but airfare and hotels and hosting and meals do cost money. And we at Sightedmoon.com would not have been able to do much of what we have done had it not been for your generous support. The $5 dollars up to the hundreds and even the thousands that some have given. Thank you all and individually. May Yehovah bless each of you and cause your cups to be overfilled.

I know all too well how much it cost to do this work. We are sending James to Burundi Africa right after Sukkot once again this year. And we are sending funding with James to give to Bishop Telesphore. We would that it was much more. James has been working on the teachings he is bringing and has copied the lessons from our site onto USB sticks for Telesphore to share with the groups he is reaching. Again this is the poorest of nations with little to no internet. So it makes it very hard to reach all the people. And this being the poorest of nations we expect no financial gains or returns.

The Philippines is second world nation and is not nearly as poor as Burundi, but neither are they a rich nation monetarily but they are rich in their desire to learn about Yehovah and His Torah. We do hope that more from the Philippines will stand with us and support this work in that nation. Until that time though we will continue to send funds to Brother Aike and again we would that it was much more. We are planting and seeding and during this time there is no product to sell. It is not until the harvest time that we will see just how productive our soil has been and our efforts to raise a crop for Yehovah will have been.

We continue to rely upon you the supporters of sightedmoon to be able to grow this work.

Deut 16:16 “Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God at the place that he will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths. They shall not appear before the Lord empty-handed. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you.

We would humbly ask that you consider our work when you make your offerings to Yehovah this Sukkot. And we would ask that if you have not already done so to consider making monthly donations. By now you should have seen that we do not sell things or gimmicks to get your money. We teach the truths of the Torah and do not worry about whether or not it offends those who read it. We challenge you and those who read our News Letter to prove us wrong and some do try. But our Critics never support this work. You the readers do.

So here is the report from Brother Aike about what is happening and how our seed has been growing.

Shalom sightedmoon Family,

May all be well with you as you read this latest report from the Philippines.

It’s my first two days here in Davao City, Mindanao Islands. I’m here in hope that what we have started since Joseph Dumond and I came here last April (for Passover ) will not come to waste but comes to fruition just as it is written in the Apostolic Writings,

1 Cor. 3:5-11  Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, even as the Lord gave to each?  (6)  I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.  (7)  So then neither is he who plants anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.  (8)  So he planting, and he watering, are one, and each one shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.  (9)  For of God we are fellow-workers, a field of God, and you are a building of God.  (10)  According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let every man be careful how he builds on it.  (11)  For any other foundation can no one lay than the one being laid, who is Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah).

As far as I know this is my fourth trip to Mindanao which started last December 2017. The Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) convicted me to start a Res-torah-tion work here. Because I believed this is my calling, in each cities that I went to in the past such as those in North and southern Luzon, there people started to return to YHVH’s Instructions and Commandments. In Cavite ( southern part of Manila) our fellow workers led by Pastor Pike Halip whom I mentored for quite a while  have started to build their own Torah Centers for the purpose of regularly meeting together every Sabbath day and midweeks torah studies and the high Holy days.

Signage of just of the torah centers being constructed. We are establishing our presence in the eyes of the believing filipinos. But take note, it took nearly 5 years of constant teachings for this to comes to fruition.

Pictures during the combined Passover Fellowship for Messiah Hebraic Faith Ministers last April 2018 with Joseph Dumond as guest torah lecturer and as our official prophecy consultant. These pastors are turning their former Pentecostal churches into Torah Study Centers. HalleluYah  praise YHVH ! This is only happening during our time now, to my knowledge nowhere in the history of religions in the Philippines that change like this took place. Praise our Abba Father up above, for He is definitely the one who is behind all these.

I was chatting with Joseph Dumond one time and I told him, planting the seed of torah in the hearts of the people is not just planting a mango tree which bears fruits after 5 years and its like a planting the seed of an olive tree, it will take a while for it to grow and mature but it will bear fruits for a thousand years just like those that are found in the land of Israel today.

No one can stop this work, not even the devil himself.

The fall feasts is upcoming soon and we have a nationwide celebrating in different key cities in the Philippines.

True love is sacrifice. Yes, our love for torah and YHVH and His son Yeshua demands a sacrifice just as how Yeshua exemplified His work on the cross to show the ultimate meaning of redemption sacrifice.

I left my home congregation in Mandaluyong city, as you know its MLTC, Messiah the Living Torah Center, and I’m now I Davao city to make follow ups on some key leaders and believers here in hope that I can lead them keep the Feast of Trumpets, Atonement, tabernacles for the first time. Yes, its confirmed in Davao City alone we will be celebrating the Feast of Trumpets in two different venues, one in Camacop Christian Alliance Church in Mintal Davao City and one with Davao City intercessory groups. And we have confirmed feast of tabernacles celebration in General Santos city on September 25 & 26 as well. At least I will be visiting Digos city and Bukidnon Province within the next couple of weeks.

I’m so encouraged because now that I came back here and the thought these group of Christians are willing to celebrate the high holy days is a very good sign that the torah restoration work here is indeed starting. Praise YHVH for this. Our brother Matthew Samario did a great job watering the brethren here with torah teachings while I was away for almost two months. See the report in Sightedmoon newsletter archived how many have keep the previous of feast of Pentecost in our sphere of influence in the Philippines. https://sightedmoon.com/how-all-of-us-can-serve/

Meanwhile, something highly significant is happening in the Political scene. Joseph Dumond’s last visit to the Philippines last April 2018, he prophecied that the Islands of the sea that yearned for the Torah of YHVH is most probably the Philippines which is composed of something like 7000 Islands. See Joseph teachings on these : https://sightedmoon.com/where-do-we-flee-to/

To compliment these prophecies, here are some of the things that did happened very quickly in the Philippines just in the last couple of weeks. You probably are aware that there is pending bill in the house of congress recognizing the 7 feasts as annual holidays in the Philippines.

https://www.congress.gov.ph/legisdocs/basic_17/HB06312.pdf

Our senate recently had made it official that Philippines and Israel are two countries that have real friendships and ties.

Meanwhile President Rodrigo Duterte just last week makes prophetic history to be the first filipino president to visit the holy land of Israel since 1957.

In this video President Duterte had told Israel’s Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu that indeed his first wife Elizabeth Zimmerman is jewish and his daughter Davao City mayor Sarah simerman Duterte is of jewish descent.

Duterte Meets Israel President Reuven Rivlin.

Genesis 12:3 YHVH said to Abraham “ I will bless those who bless you , in you all the nations will  be blessed.”

I believed this is just the beginning of an era that we have never seen before. Exciting times ahead of us to see how biblical prophecies comes to become a reality.

Of President Duterte recent visit to the Holy land have generated investments opportunities by Israeli companies in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, we that have spiritual discernment can relate that for the nations to be blessed just like Israel today, we need to know how to obey YHVH’s Torah commandments such as keeping the Sabbath day holy and 7 Feasts of Leviticus 23.

The fight to make house bill 6312 a reality in the Philippine House of representatives is like mission impossible. To date at least 9 congressmen have supported this bill. If each congressmen gets 9 each to favor the bill then it will be approved. Sister Carmen Jimenez was our guest speaker last august 21 on updates on house bill 6312.

There is a shortcut however and our friend Greco Belgica a close aide of Pres. Duterte had told me that we need to pray for a miracle that to fastrack the approval of our bill, it will only takes President Duterte to sign and executive bill to honor it.

Joseph Dumond had talked to Greco regarding this while they met in Manila last April 2018.

That’s right, for what I know there’s nothing impossible with YHVH. He is a God who likes to surprise us all the time.

All we need to do now is less no other than keep His commandments and Obey Him. Spread the Torah as much as we can because this our duty for our God who covenanted Himself to us through His Son Yeshua our Messiah.

We are in this for the long run, as a matter fact till the end of the age and up until the millennial kingdom.

For without divine vision the people perish, for is he that keep the Torah ( Proverb. 29:18). In the end, the winners in these religious race called life are those that “Blessed are they who do His commandments, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and they may enter in by the gates into the city. (Rev. 22:14)

This is our hope of Glory. Please include me in your prayers as I’m in the forefront of this spiritual warfare in bringing more Filipinos to the truth of the Torah.

Thank you and may YHVH richly bless all of sightedmoon family.

Please do continue to donate to sightedmoon since Joseph have been helping us with this trips to Mindanao. You know the reality it costs money to do this. Yes, I’m a volunteer. But airfare, Hotel accommodations , food, venues, blessings other ministries costs money. So please prayerfully consider donating to sightedmoon regularly.

May Your Name be Found in the Book of Life

The Feast of Trumpets The Feast of Yom Teruah is now here and the common expression at this time of year is May Your Name be found in the Book of Life.

The meaning of teruah comes from the root word “alert” or “alarm” or “to raise awareness,” but Yehovah gave no further explanations for this day, only specific instructions to rest, blow the shofar and present an offering by fire.

Compared with all the other appointed times of Yehovah, Yom Teruah is the only one that begins at the sighting of the new moon. Therefore, it involves waiting, watching and being alert. Generally, the Bible seems to indicate that blowing a shofar is almost always a summons, a war-cry, an alert warning to prepare for something, to hail an arrival, or a wake-up call if one has been slumbering, whether spiritually or physically.

It acknowledges and confirms that the Feast of Yom Teruah, the Feast of Trumpets is the start of Judgment on all Mankind. A fitting time to blow the shofars as it warned of the coming danger. Judgment and being not found in the book of life is the danger you are to warn those who do not obey about.

Yes, I said all mankind. The Feast of Trumpets is not just for the Jews.

Isaiah 24:1 Behold, the Lord will empty the earth and make it desolate,
and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants.
And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;
as with the slave, so with his master;
as with the maid, so with her mistress;
as with the buyer, so with the seller;
as with the lender, so with the borrower;
as with the creditor, so with the debtor.
The earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered;
for the Lord has spoken this word.
The earth mourns and withers;
the world languishes and withers;
the highest people of the earth languish.
The earth lies defiled
under its inhabitants;
for they have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant.
Therefore a curse devours the earth,
and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,
and few men are left.

It is the whole earth that is being judged and found guilty for not keeping the covenant.

The earth lies defiled
under its inhabitants;
for they have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant.

The first place I have found where the Book of Life is mentioned or spoken of is in Exodus.

Exodus 32:30 The next day Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. And now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.” So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Alas, this people has sinned a great sin. They have made for themselves gods of gold. But now, if you will forgive their sin—but if not, please blot me out of your book that you have written.” But the Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot out of my book.

Isaiah mentions this;

Isaiah 4:2 In that day the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, everyone who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem, when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by a spirit of burning.

everyone who has been recorded for life

Yehovah mentions this book of life also in Ezekiel 9:3

Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub on which it rested to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writing case at his waist. And the Lord said to him, “Pass through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.” And to the others he said in my hearing, “Pass through the city after him, and strike. Your eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity. Kill old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but touch no one on whom is the mark. And begin at my sanctuary.”

What is the Mark of Yehovah that is on their foreheads?

We have our Article The Mark of the Beast and the Mark of Yahweh which explains this very plainly.

The Mark of Yehovah are His Sabbaths and Holy Days of Lev 23 which are how you think (His mark on your head) and how you do not work on them, (His mark on your hands) Satans mark is then any day is the holy day except the true Sabbaths and those with Satans mark work on the Sabbath and Holy Days and do not honour them. So this is most of Christianity and all of the other faiths of the world who bare the mark of Satan. Satan has in fact deceived the whole world.

One of the Israelites’ most flagrant sins leading up to their national captivity was the violation of Yehovah’s Sabbath. Even as the kingdom of Judah was self-destructing from its citizens’ sinful behaviour, Yehovah continued to warn them through the prophet Jeremiah to

“bear no burden on the Sabbath day . . . nor do any work, but hallow the Sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers . . . But if you will not heed Me to hallow the Sabbath day . . . then I will kindle a fire . . . , and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched” (Jeremiah:17:21-22, 27).

Through the prophet Ezekiel, in Babylon, after he and much of the kingdom of Judah had been taken into captivity, Yehovah said of the Israelites who had been taken away 137 years earlier:

“I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them. Yet . . . they greatly defiled My Sabbaths . . . They despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths” (Ezekiel:20:12-13, 16).

Yehovah also said of His people,

“Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them” (Ezekiel:22:).

I strongly encourage you to read that article about The Mark of the Beast and the Mark of Yahweh and understand why keeping the Sabbath and Holy Days is so important in so many ways. That is the Mark that Yehovah puts into our minds and it is identifying mark that if we obey it will find us written in the book of life.

That mark that identifies us is His Sabbath and His Holy Days.

David also wrote about this book of life.

Psalm 56:8 You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your book?

Psalm 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living;
let them not be enrolled among the righteous.

Let me say here the righteous are not those who claim to be followers of Jesus and are waiting for His return to be raptured out. They are not those who keep Sunday Mass every week. The righteous ones whose names will be found in the book of life are those who keep the commandments.

Psalm 119:172 Let my tongue sing of thy word; For all thy commandments are righteousness.

John 14:15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

John 14:21 Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.”

John 14:23 Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him.

John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

1 John 2:3 By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,

2 John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the very commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you must walk in love.

Returning to the psalms that David wrote about the book of life.

Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

Daniel also speaks of this book of life.

Daniel 12:1 “At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

Are you one of the wise ones? Will you shine like the stars? Are you turning many to righteousness now?

Psalm 11:10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth for ever.

If you have a fear of Yehovah, of breaking His commandments then you are considered wise. When you do His commandments you have the understanding of His ways.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Paul also says that those who work to share the truth are found in the book of life.

Phil 4:2 I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

We know what sin is and John describes it for us very plainly.

1 John 3:4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.

And Yehshua warns us that those who practice lawlessness will not be with Him.

Mathew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Are not Christians prophesying in His name? Are Christians not casting out demons in the name of Jesus? Are not the mega churches based on the name of Jesus and have many “good” things they do for the poor and others? But these large Christian groups do not keep the Sabbath nor the Holy Days nor are they keeping today the feast of Trumpets, a day that comes on a day and at an hour when no man can know. And by their own actions, we can see they are lawless and they will be told by Yehshua I never knew you, be gone. The most terrifying words in the bible.

So it is quite obvious that those who practice lawlessness will not be found in the book of Life. Then what?

Rev 20:15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Christianity practices lawlessness and will not keep the Sabbath or the Holy Days. The very sign of Yehovah. And they are at great risk of being thrown into the lake of fire. I am harping on them not to abuse them but in the hopes they might see the scriptures and understand.

Yehshua also warned us of this event.

Mat 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

We were told way back in Ezekiel that the soul does not live forever as Christians have been taught. The soul that sins will die.

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins shall die.

:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

And the soul not keeping the commandments, the soul not keeping the Sabbath and the Holy Days will die. I do not care how much you argue with me about the laws being done away or nailed to the cross. The soul who sins and does not keep the commandments will be told I never knew you, you worker of lawlessness and that soul will be thrown into the lake of fire and die!!! They will not be found in the book of life.

Do you not fear Yehovah enough to obey Him?

Malachi 3:16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name. “They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.

The Book of Life is referred to seven times in the Book of Revelation. Last week we spoke to you about the thief in the night and we mentioned to you Revelation 3. Here it is again in relation to the Book of Life.

Rev 3:1 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.
“‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

Rev 13:5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven. Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. If anyone has an ear, let him hear:
If anyone is to be taken captive,
to captivity he goes;
if anyone is to be slain with the sword,
with the sword must he be slain.
Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.

Rev 17:7 When I saw her, I marveled greatly. But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come. This calls for a mind with wisdom:

Rev 20:11 Judgment Before the Great White Throne
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Rev 22:19). As described, only those whose names are written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, and have not been blotted out by the Lamb, are saved at the Last Judgment; all others are doomed. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev. 20:15, King James Version). “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works”. (Rev. 20:12, King James Version)

What is the unpardonable sin?

Mat 12:22 Then a demon-oppressed man who was blind and mute was brought to him, and he healed him, so that the man spoke and saw. And all the people were amazed, and said, “Can this be the Son of David?” But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.” Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand. And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Many people fear they have committed some sin that Yehovah cannot or will not forgive, and they feel there is no hope for them, no matter what they do. Satan would like nothing more than to keep people labouring under that misconception.

James 4:1 What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
Do not speak evil against one another, brothers.

Yehshua died on the tree and He paid the penalty for our sins. They are paid for if we will just accept that free gift.

We have many in prison for various crimes write us. They have been found guilty and are now paying for it in prison. If they have murdered then Yehovah is willing to forgive them if they repent and keep the commandments from this point forward.

This past week I was caught speeding. I have no good excuses. The police officer wrote me a ticket which is going to cost me $338 dollars. OUCH!!! I was doing 124 in an 80 Km zone. I have no good reasons for doing it.

The law is 80 Klm. I am guilty of breaking that law and I will have to pay for that sin. Had the officer not issued the ticket and gave me a warning he would have been giving me grace. The penalty was paid for but the law remained in effect. Go and sin no more. Many Christians claim the saved by grace part and then turn right around and keep on sinning. I drove the speed limit the rest of that day and beyond. The law does not change. But I must change to obey that law.

Hebrew 10:26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The unpardonable sin is stated by Yehshua.

If you are repenting when you sin and feel remorse when you do then you are not to be in fear of the unpardonable sin. Continue to draw near to Yehovah and He will draw near to you.

I want to close with this thought though.

Mat 18:21 Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.
“Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’ So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

Many of you have and can forgive your brother and this is admirable. But many of you that write me to say things that show me that you cannot and do not forgive yourself for some crime in the past. Read this parable above again.

Mat 6:14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

James 2:8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it. For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Some of you will not forgive your parents for the evil they did to you as a child 100 years ago. Many of you will not forgive your former spouse for divorcing you or having an affair on you. Many of you will not forgive the rapist or the murderer that took one of your family. You will not honour your Mother and Father because they were bad parents, they had sex with you as a child, they were drunks and beat you up or locked you in the basement.

The commandment is

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

There are no conditions on here about how good your parents must be before they EARN your respect. Those who have trespassed against you do not have to EARN your respect before you forgive them.

You seek to be forgiven for your sins. You beg Yehovah to forgive you for your sins during these Ten Days of Awe from the Feast of Trumpets to the Day of Atonement when they will be blotted out and forgotten. It is on the Day of Atonement that Satan and the false prophet along with death and Hades and those not found in the book of life will be thrown into the lake of fire. Your sins are also sent and forgotten about at this time. Will you now forgive those who have hurt you in the past? Will you now forgive yourself for the things you have done or not done in the past?

Will you show them mercy? Will you now show mercy to yourself?

Now for those Christians who will not keep the Sabbath or the Holy Days re-read this section of James 2. For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said to remember the Sabbath day and to keep it Holy. Yehshua was the word and that word is the  Torah and Lev 23 is part of That word which makes up Yehshua. Keep the Sabbath and keep the Holy Days of Yehovah so that your fear of Yehovah will be the start of your wisdom and so that your name will be found in the book of Life.

Yom Teruah Sameah!

Deut 28:1 “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

What does the Sound of the Shofar mean

I have been to Jerusalem now 17 times. This Sukkot will be the 18th trip for me. I have been blessed beyond measure.

I often I think of my first time there and how I considered it the trip of a lifetime and the one and only time I would ever be able to go. I had saved for years.

Now I know I can go there for two weeks for less than $1500 Canadian including housing and airfare and food. And I have conducted tours with groups for I think it was $700 not including airfare but including everything else.

I also know many would love to go and want to go and have come up with every excuse not to go.

One Year I had the opportunity to have Sukkot with one of the local Rabbi in Jerusalem. And I have been to his house a number of times since and brought others with me.

I would like to let you listen to Rabbi Machlis explain the shofar to you while he is walking through the Mahane Yehuda Market more widely known as the Shuk. I will this year be about two blocks away from this market once again.

Each year as we approach the Feast of Sukkot many of you have attested to this fact, that all sorts of disasters happen. The Bills all come in at once and now they must be paid and we cannot afford to go to the Feast. The Car breaks down. The demands at work get so big that it is impossible for you to leave for two weeks at this time. The boss just days before you are to leave tells you-you will not have a job when you get back if you go. Someone else will be doing your work. Those with unconverted mates are in the middle of the worse fighting ever. You are told by your spouse if you go then, they want a divorce. You no doubt have many of these and more you can write about.

One year I was hearing from a lady who was so gun hoe to keep the Feast that I fully expected to see her that one year in Tennessee. But work piled up on her and they threatened her job and she gave in to them. She never wrote again and I think she has completely stopped learning because of this one failure.

I have had so many of them happen to me that I have lost count. But despite all the failures I have had, I endured them and learned from them and grew to never repeat them again or to allow myself to be in that position again where I would fail.

When my brains said you could not go and that I had better stay and get these things fixed, my heart said Damn the Torpedoes. Full steam ahead. The trials of this life would still be affecting me until about the 3rd day of the Feast. It was only about then that I would be settling down and begin to enjoy this very special time with Yehovah at His Moedim. His Appointments. It was at this time I began to meet many others who also were hurting from the same sorts of trials as I was having. I was not alone in my walk.

This year is no different. The Bills are all arriving, Work is very busy and the burden for getting it done seems to be resting upon me.

As Rabbi Machlis is saying these are the ta tat tat tas of the shofar and of life and we eagerly await the long melodic tekia sound of the Shofar.

In Jerusalem, they sound a very loud siren just as Sabbath is about to begin. All the Stores are now shut and many began to close down at 3 PM. You notice how the very busy streets packed with traffic now have almost no cars. The Trains Taxis and almost all other modes of travel come to a complete halt. One year one of the tourists laid down on a busy road while his friend took his picture from high up in an apartment building. And he never got ran over as there was no traffic on this Sabbath day.

The Tekia of the Shofar. The rest.

    We did sight the New Moon of the 7th month here in Tuscola, Texas at 8:05 by Brian Gagnon, then our daughter, Brittany Burks, then me, (June Gagnon) followed by Brenda
    Kennedy.
    Blessings to you all!

    New moon sighted at 7:37 MDT in central New Mexico. I realize no one sighted it from Israel but, no one has addressed the following. Here we are, Israel scattered into the four corners of the earth. If we did not have technology to know the new moon wasn’t sighted from Israel, would we go ahead and be obedient with our own sighting? I think so. If we use technology to determine if the moon was sighted from the Land, then why can’t we use this same reasoning and use binoculars? I’m not trying to throw a monkey wrench in this mix but have a valid observation….pun intended. Truly, we do not know the day or hour. Shalom to the people of Yehovah!

      Valid points for a discussion. I too was thinking of this earlier. And does the moon have to be seen in Israel to validate it? Cold we not utilize the whole world and technology? But what would happen is Hawaii is the only one to site the moon. Do the rest of us miss out on trumpets in that case? Who do we use as our authority? Some group or do we continue to use Jerusalem as our Authority? It would be interesting to hear what people have to say about this.

        Bro Joseph; all valid points for discussion. An additional factor is that in times of old when Judah and Canaan was fully inhabited by Israel, there would have been many zealous observers, probably those with the sharpest eyes would have taken the greatest interest, for zeal for Yah, the free banquet, and the public recognition for their service. Here in this time, we have few looking, and if they are sharp sighted it is only by chance or Yah’s mercies. If the sharpest eyed and most experienced out of millions had been looking from all the land tonight, there probably would have been many confirmed sightings. I know it is a cop-out, but in a case like this I also just resign myself to keep double days all through the month. May Yah have mercy on us, and send Yahshua back to teach us with authority and guide us in the right ways.

        From India to South Africa to all across the United States the moon was sighted (last night, the Monday evening of September 10, 2018); however, only one well known fellow in Israel reported sighting the moon with the naked eye, where others in Israel needed the used of binoculars. So, many in Israel are postponing until tonight (the Tuesday evening of September 11, 2018). So, does one who went out and blew their trumpet due to the new moon last night witnessed on their side of the planet (under the design/authority of Genesis 1:14), now decide to wait and blow it again tonight because of this world wide web phenomenon?
        In the past, there was a Levitical priesthood that was the authority that announced the new moon (and thus, the holy days). In the future seventh millennia, we will have the restored Kingdom with David on the throne to whom we can look to as an authority in Israel. Currently, however, we have no such authority in Israel. But, Paul does tell us in 1st Corinthians 11:3 that every man is the head of their home under Christ…
        So, this year is another one of those times where if you live on another part of planet than Israel and want to “sync up with folks in Israel,” you will be faced with the difficult choice of either celebrating the Feast day either a half a day early (beginning last night) or a half a day late (waiting until tonight)… no way around it. As a consolidation: either way, you will overlap with a time that folks in Israel are keeping the feast… as I write this, the sun is setting in Jerusalem. We should all give thanks that we are discussing the finer details of how/when to obey the commandments rather than following the way of the world that either replaces or disregards them completely.
        So, once again, according to 1st Corinthians 11:3, each man of their household will need to make the decision for themselves.

        There was a similar newsletter concerning this issue back on January 18 of this year concerning issues with the International Dateline and such (link below) that points out this issue (mentioning the Feast of Trumpets in Australia or New Zealand) as a reason why many do the two day Feast day thing. However, on the flip side, the article then goes on to discuss what to do if you are near one of the Poles in the Arctic or Antarctic circles where the sun does not even set or come up for months at a time pretty much concluding with the fact that one must simply choose (once again, see 1st Corinthians 11:3).

          Chag Sameach Mike, You may not realize just how much goes into each announcement of the sighting of the crescent moon in the 1st and the 7th months. It is very stressful on those who are in the land to get it right and then on those of us announcing it to our readership to have checked all sources and to double and triple and quadruple check everything again before we press send. We all realize that many are counting on out reports and our views and judgments. And this is a very terrifying thing to be responsible for.
          Yehovah said in Lev 23:30 And whoever does any work on that very day, that person I will destroy from among his people.
          Speaking of the Day of Atonement. So it behoves us to get the right day.
          We have all these following scriptures about those witnessing.
          A lone witness is not sufficient to establish any wrongdoing or sin against a man, regardless of what offense he may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. Deut 19:15
          Matthew 18:16
          But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’
          John 8:17
          Even in your own Law it is written that the testimony of two men is valid.
          2 Corinthians 13:1
          This is the third time I am coming to you. “Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”
          1 Timothy 5:19
          Do not entertain an accusation against an elder, except on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
          Hebrews 10:28
          Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
          Numbers 35:30
          If anyone kills a person, the murderer is to be put to death on the testimony of multiple witnesses. But no one is to be put to death based on the testimony of a lone witness.
          Deuteronomy 17:6
          On the testimony of two or three witnesses, a man shall be put to death, but he shall not be executed on the testimony of a lone witness.
          On Monday evening we had one credible witness in Israel. He was sure he sighted the moon with his naked eye. OK great. We also had another witness sight it with binoculars and another first-timer see it but not willing to testify in a court of law. So based on this I and others decided on our own that the moon was not seen because we did not have enough witnesses in the land of Israel. Many others also concluded the same thing and we did not collude with each other about our decisions.
          Now based on the current rules of understanding this is how it should be. Two valid witnesses that can walk to the Temple and testify.
          So now let us bring in all the other situations that you are now bringing up and to which I have pondered for many a year. And I will list them A, B, C etc… so that people can comment on each point.
          A) Why do we need two witnesses? I have quoted you the scriptures already above as the biblical reason. Why not allow one witness who is trustworthy along with a picture? After all, we are in the 21st century.
          Response- Pictures can be altered by some. The Jews used to light bonfires to let those in Babylon know the moon was seen. The Samaritans and others would also light bonfires to cause confusion.
          Why did the Jews not accept the testimony or just let those in Babylon sight the moon themselves? Because they were to go to the Temple to testify and the Temple would announce it.
          Why not allow the Muslim witnesses that sight the moon each month around the world testify? It says in the Quran that they are allowed to lie to achieve their goals of spreading Islam. I need not say any more on that.
          So a trusted witness today could become untrustworthy next month due to something. But with two or more we can trust them to keep the other in check.
          B) Why not take witnesses from around the world? In Israel, we do not have a temple and they use phones and emails to let each other and us know the moon has been sighted, so why not use the same technology to sight the moon from around the world and have them call it in. The Philippines or Japan could sight the moon or Fiji while those in Israel are still eating lunch. Or those in the USA could see it when Israel does not. Or even Hawaii could be the only ones to see it at all. And if they were excepted at true then those in the Philippines or Australia or Japan would already near the end of the day after the Holy Day was almost over.
          How many times in Judges does it say that every man did what was good in his own sight?
          Judges 17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
          Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
          In our days today, we have no King and everyone does what is right in their own eyes.
          Well, let’s say King David is about to come back or let’s say Yehovah is King and why not all of us become united and work together in unity. Israel is the centre of the earth. Japan is about 10 or so hours ahead. The USA is about 12 or so hours behind. And like you quoted those in the north where the sun does not shine for 6 months must choose what longitude you are going to belong with and use that for all your calendar issues.
          By working together in unity on this issue we subject ourselves to the King that is going to be setting up His throne in Jerusalem.
          I have presented a few questions and the potential outcomes of using them. Please do discuss this and see if it can be midrashed out as if you are part of the Sanhedrin and finding a solution.

            Yes, I understand what you are saying. I only commented in on this matter because you directly asked for discussion. It was expected that this year’s seventh moon would be a hard one to see, and it was. Hence, I understand without any condemnation at all that some people may choose to recognize and celebrate the feast of trumpets slightly ahead or slightly behind other people trying to sync up with Israel this year. There’s no need for me to say when exactly I personally recognize the moon being sighted this year, as that does not matter per the discussion (although the answer may surprise you). For me the issue is one of quality and authority – which at this time in history according to the scriptures that we both shared above, resides in the individual to determine what to do with the various reports of the sighted moon being reported on various websites.
            I’m ok if you don’t publish this comment on the website… might be better as a “private” comment, as I’m just giving you feedback/discussion from someone you know supports and admires your efforts here at sighted moon. But, I want to offer insight from a differing perspective, since you thought it would be an interesting and needed discussion.
            For many months (years…?), this website has asked readers to go out and sight the moon each month and then report their findings (regardless of their location in the world). Many have done this. This week, however, this newsletter/announcement pretty much gives the impression that their reports are and were a wasted effort due to them not living in Israel (honestly, why keep asking people to do this?). The title of this newsletter is “The New Moon has NOT Been Sighted” with a picture showing the text “removed from the book of life” as somewhat of an ultimatum – all of this may have come across a bit rough to folks who have gone out and sighted the moon as instructed. That’s why they commented, and I offered my comments in gentle response.
            Back to “quality and authority” – the issue I am focusing on to discuss:
            Since 1984 in the city of San Diego in Southern California, the local authority (the government) has only allowed orange-yellow street lights in the city. This to minimize interference with the 200-inch telescope at Caltech’s astronomical observatory at Palomar Mountain and the smaller observatory atop Mt. Laguna run by San Diego State University and the University of Illinois. The authorities do this for quality control, and hence these observatories have a world renowned positive reputation because of the quality of their viewings.
            However, the city of Jerusalem and the larger surrounding state of Israel has no such quality controls. I do not know of any reputable academic institutions similar to the astronomical activities of San Diego, for instance, reporting on their sightings of the new moon each month (does Hebrew University do this?), nor can I find an Israeli government Ministry (such as those listed on http://www.gov.il/en) that makes an official reporting. What we have are a small handful of volunteers who are not a recognized Israeli authority with very limited means and movement (ie: if they wanted to make the 30 minute trip from Jerusalem to Jericho to get a better view of the sky out away from the lights of the city, they would need to go to the authorities [the government] and get permission and an armed military escort). So if some needed a set of binoculars – which are as commonly available as a pair of eyeglasses – to verify what they are seeing surrounded by the urban lights of the cities, I can completely understand that. That’s just how it is in Israel right now.
            Take all of this into account and the multiple reported other sightings of the new moon around the world, and I can understand why this year is an unusually tough one. So, rather than making any kind of ultimatum (which, to be blunt, sighted moon did this year), I presented into the discussion the reminder that this year is a tough one and it’s every man’s own responsibility to use his own God given authority to make the choice this year.
            (note: This discussion is a rather long one that could go on and on… I personally don’t want to spend any more extra time on it and distract from the joy of the Holy Days; so, I’ll give you and other folks wishing to comment out there the last word.)

            Chag Sameach Mike, first of all, let me apologise if my title of the article was taken as an ultimatum if you did not agree with me on the views about the sighting of the moon. I in no uncertain terms did not mean to do that. I was trying to entice people to read it and wanted to lead off with the two main subjects of the newsletter. So please forgive me if that was the impression I left.
            I share what those who sight the moon say and I do not demand anyone do as I do. I encourage people to do what they believe is best based on the facts presented. And I give you my views and reasoning. I argue my case. But I do know there are those who keep the Hebrew calendar and others going by the moon they have sighted where they live and then others who do some things different altogether.
            The ultimatum is for those who do not keep the Sabbath or Holy Days at all. They are the ones who will not be found in the book of life. Be gone I never knew you.
            One day all of us will be together in the one place. It is good for everyone to practice sighting the moon now. There are vital lessons to learn when they do this. Such as no man can know the day or the hour. This expression was echoed across all sites this year. It cemented the expression of what Yehshua said and many people got it. But had they not tried on this difficult sighting then they would not have learned this lesson. So by no means do I want to discourage people from looking only to yank the rug out from under them by saying that Jerusalem is the only place that counts. Then no one would want to look. But the fact is Jerusalem is headquarters and always will be.
            And on another point. I look forward to discussions on some subject. But I often forget that people have put me at another level. So anything I say is the final word and those who do not agree are condemned. This is nonsense and yet when I speak it sort of ends the discussion or offends those with differing views. I am the same as anyone else with views and opinions and questions about things I do not understand. But I argue my case with zeal until proven otherwise.
            Anyway, I hope this helps.
            Chag Sameach

    Ps; Have to admit, what pushed me over to the Israel sighting camp was the over confidence and over stated arguments of the anywhere sighting camp I was associated with at the time. However, I still see a valid argument for Israel sightings in a glimpse into the future kingdom of Yah. So: If Yahshua and all the saints and patriarchs are sitting on their thrones in Jerusalem waiting for reports of sightings, how late at night are they going to be willing to stay up waiting to announce the start of the relevant ceremonies? My guess is they would want to get the show on the road in a timely manner, perhaps before complete dark, which would dictate local holy land sightings during the kingdom. Eh?

    I enjoyed the Crescent Moon watch this month. We had two 29 day months in a row so we were bound to have a 30 day month soon
    I was more uneasy by having a 29 day month and Trumpets would fall on September 11. September 11, 2001 should always stay in our minds Think that something to pay attention to personally. I doubt I alone in this thinking lol.
    Great to have a newsletter for the Feast of Trumpets . Yehovah be with you all in your traveling for Trumpets.
    All the best this Trumpets
    Love from Truro NS. Canada

    Wednesday evening at 7:35 PM From Orangeville Ontario Canada.
    Getting ready and planning to start the feast on the 29th is like a surprise birthday party. Today after the 30th day and not seeing it on the 29th is also like a birthday party. The surprise is more fun but this is just as much fun when you see it for yourself. I just become like a kid again. I dance and blow the shofar and thank Yehovah for calling me and showing me all the truths He has shared with me. How honoured we are to live at such a time as this.
    Chag Sameach Brethren MAy your names all be found in the Book of Life and mine too.

    Due to cloud cover, the new moon was not sighted from Jacksonville, FL on the evening ending September 10th. It was, however, seen with clear skies at 8:03 p.m. EST on September 11th. So much to celebrate today. A blessed Yom Teruah to all.

    I very much appreciate all the comments from every perspective about sighting the New Moon. I do fully agree Jerusalem is the headquarters and the Sanhedrin accepted or not the reports of 2 or more witnesses regarding any matter, not just the New Moon.
    The numerous Scriptures you pointed out Joe regarding 2 or more witnesses are numerous. I’ve never thought to do a search on that before. With this month, the comments from everyone on every web site reporting the New Moon, unless I missed something, have involved two witnesses that are both fairly sure they’ve seen the New Moon without optics, BUT both of them follow that with saying it was very difficult and if brought before a court of law, they would have to say they were unsure. Even the very seasoned spotter with a high reputation was not willing to say any more then that….he was unsure with the other being a new person with no experience at it. That they are unsure and basically saying, they are not willing to risk their life for it….especially if standing before Yah Himself. I think any court of law, whether it be the Sanhedrin or our own court systems and certainly Yehovah, would go with a No sighting… when you have two unsure witnesses. THIS is a test and a practice session for everyone. What would happen in any court system regarding any criminal matter when people start making their own determination because I SAW IT with no other witnesses…even those close by? What happens when we have no seasonal expert who saw it and then a newbie who says she is unsure? What happens when an innocent person is accused of rape and murder because one person is certain they saw him do it? There is good reason multiple witnesses have been set as a requirement in Scripture and the same goes with sighting the New Moon. We are all to be in unity and that is why the Sanhedrin made the determination. When I see the reputable groups all going with a No sighting due to no established spotters seeing it and/or are unwilling to stand before a court of law willing to say anything more then they are unsure and then an individual calling it a Yes because she trusts the word of two unsure witnesses…that disturbs me.

    If what I learned from the article Pauline posted on Facebook . This year Yom Teruah did fall on same date as the birth of Yehshua was born. If he was born the evening of September 11 at twilight. Getting very used to having eat my words after learning new truths i had not seen before lol. I must of read over it the first time I read about the timing of Messiah’s birth. The article included information about the constellations and the Revelation 12 fulfillment in the heavens above us and few other subjects
    So grateful for such treasures of truth being only a keyboard away. It actually made my Yom Teruah this year (:
    Shalom all
