I do not know you, you workers of lawlessness!

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom To the Royal Family,

Death of a Saint

I arrived home from Israel early Sunday Morning. Everything was good but I had picked up a cold the last couple of days in Israel.

As I caught up on my e-mails and the news and did the laundry and all I came across the following story about Chanda Hatt and how she was killed after returning home from the Feast. I sent my condolences on behalf of Sightedmoon.com and the brethren to Steve Berkson of Beth Shalom Messianic Congregation who talks about this horrible event that Sabbath which was the day after the shooting. Chanda Hatt and her family are part of the fellowship with this ministry. I do encourage you all to listen to the things Steve Berkson talks about in that service and for all of us to step back and think and to pray for this family and others.

The 8th Month

The New Moon will not be possible to be seen on the 29th day which was Friday evening. This then makes this Sabbath the 30th day by default making this evening after the Sabbath and Sunday the 1st Day of the 8th month.

Picking up Sticks

This week’s Newsletter has been written and in my mind long before I heard the news about the tragic shooting of Mrs. Hatt. So do not think anything I am about to say has anything to do with this sad situation. I do not know anything about this family and I am not at all judging them.

But never the less I have to say what I am now about to say to many of you.

1 Cor 13:1-3 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Many of you think I have the ability to understand prophecies and that I am gifted with this understanding of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years and how they reveal the end of this age. Then there are some of you who think I do not show love or do not show enough love in the things I teach.

So this verse in Corinthians begs the question ‘what is love?’ I understand what love is. I no longer have the Christian thinking of love which is tolerance of everything. I can no longer tolerate what many of you assume to be love which you have been taught in your former denominations. That type of love I want to vomit out.

Here are the Strongs meaning of this word used here.

G26 agape?   ag-ah’-pay

From G25love, that is, affection or benevolence; specifically (plural) a: – (feast of) charity ([-ably]), dear, love.

G25 agapao?   ag-ap-ah’-o

Perhaps from ?????? agan (much; or compare [H5689]); to love (in a social or moral sense): – (be-) love (-ed). Compare G5368.

H5689   ?a^gab    aw-gab’

A primitive root; to breathe after, that is, to love (sensually): – dote, lover.

G5368   phileo?   fil-eh’-o

From G5384; to beafriendto (fondof [an individual or an object]), that is, haveaffection for (denoting personal attachment, as a matter of sentiment or feeling; while G25 is wider, embracing especially the judgment and the deliberate assent of the will as a matter of principle, duty and propriety: the two thus stand related very much as G2309 and G1014, or as G2372 and G3563 respectively; the former being chiefly of the heart and the latter of the head); specifically to kiss (as a mark of tenderness): – kiss, love.

So without love, we are nothing even though we have great faith. Without Love, we are a clanging cymbal. Just making noise but not in harmony with the truth. Again, so what is love?

Yehshua says that;

John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

So we show Yehshua that we love Him just by obeying the commandments. So is that love? Are we loving each other when we keep the commandments?

1 John 2:3-6 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

This is saying that the love of Yehovah is perfected in each of us as we keep the commandments. And in Mat 5:48 we are told to be perfect:

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

This word perfect is:

G5046   teleios    tel’-i-os

From G5056complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.); neuter (as noun, with G3588completeness: – of full age, man, perfect.

G505  telos    tel’-os

From a primary word ?????? tello? (to setout for a definite point or goal); properly the point aimed at as a limit, that is, (by implication) the conclusion of an act or state (termination [literally, figuratively or indefinitely], result [immediate, ultimate or prophetic], purpose); specifically an impost or levy (as paid): – + continual, custom, end (-ing), finally, uttermost. Compare G5411.

We are to aim at the bullseye with our mental and moral character by keeping the commandments and as we perfect this we show Yehovah our love towards Him and towards each other. This is the love of Yehovah, that we keep His commandments.

1 John 5:1-3 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

Love is keeping the commandments. This is how we show Yehovah we love Him. The more we obey the more we show Him our love. And those who do not keep the commandments but say they love Yehovah or they love Yehshua are nothing by liars. But there are some of you and it is more than just a few, who think they can break the commandments and get away with it.

Mat 7:23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Yes, I know you know who these are, but some of you do not even consider that it is speaking to you who are now keeping the Feasts and Holy Days. Yes, those of you who call yourselves brethren. Not only is this going to be spoken of to the Christians of the world, but also to those of you who say you are Torah observant. Yehovah is going to say to some of you that He does not know you.

Your wear the tzit tzits and you have grown the beards. Some of you dress like the Jews and wear kippas. You look on the outside like the Hebrew Roots or Messianic peoples but inside you’re liars. You’re fakes and you’re going to be told I do not know you.

Lev 19:17-18 commands us to speak up when we see our brothers sinning.

“You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

If we keep silent then we are showing hate towards those who are our brothers.

1 John 4:20-21 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

1 John 3:13-15 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

When you see your brethren sinning, and you say nothing or do nothing about it to warn them, then you are showing Yehovah you hate your brethren. You saw them sin and they will be found guilty of that sin and then they will be sentenced to death and die. But you did not warn them and their blood will be required of you. You are guilty of having murdered them by your silence.

It is exactly the same as Ezekiel 33.

Ezekiel 33:1-7 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’

10 “Therefore you, O son of man, say to the house of Israel: ‘Thus you say, “If our transgressions and our sins lie upon us, and we pine away in them, how can we then live?” ’ Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’
“So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.

This is why I have to speak up. This is why I plead with you to turn from continuing to sin. I am commanded to tell you lest I show hate for you and you die for your sin but your blood be upon me for having not warned you. This is why I speak up. And also why many hate my guts as a dear friend so eloquently told me recently. But what I am doing is showing love towards each of you and especially those of you who continue to sin.

This year I witnessed a group of people arrive at the hotel at the end of the Sabbath. They were brethren and they had traveled all day and the night before from California to Israel on the Sabbath. It was a last minute decision and the price was really cheap. So they said they had gods blessing and came. (Notice I spelt god with a small “g”.) (That little voice is not always Yehovah telling you what to do. Sometimes Yehovah sends an evil spirit to test you.)

After all there is no commandment about how far you can travel on the Sabbath right?

According to the Mosaic law every Israelite was forbidden to travel on the Sabbath day.

Exodus 16:29 “See, for the Lord hath given you the Sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.”

But there is also evidence that the Israelites were permitted to go a certain distance on that special day. For example they could visit the tabernacle and temple from any distance within the encampment or city.

Over the centuries the authorities within the rabbinical circles of Judaism found ways, from examining the miniscule details of the law, to increase the distance that an Israelite may travel on the Sabbath day. In ancient times they determined that one may travel on the Sabbath from within the city boundaries and this distance was fixed at 2,000 cubits. They based this on Joshua 3:4-5:

“And they commanded the people, saying, When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about 2,000 cubits by measure; come not near it, thay ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.”

Then after some time the rabbis interpreted “place” to mean city so that it would be acceptable to travel 2,000 cubits outside his city limits on the Sabbath day. Then again later the Pharisees doubled the distance that one might travel by yet another minute detail. They inserted a rule that if one placed food preparations at another location, then that place figuratively became his abode and he may travel to there up to 2,000 cubits and then another 2,000 cubits which made the whole journey 4,000 cubits, or about 6,000 feet or a little over a mile. A cubit was around 18 inches (from forefinger to elbow), although the measurement differed during different periods of Hebrew history.

In New Testament times and soon after, the Pharisees found another legal fiction and stretched the distance for traveling on the Sabbath a little farther. They theorized that if a person was to travel 4,000 cubits on the Sabbath day, then he would also need to return and thus they allowed 8,000 cubits as the standard.

There are some mentions in the New Testament alluding to the Sabbath day’s journey such as in:

Matthew 24:20: “But pray that your flight may not be in the winter, nor on the Sabbath day”

Acts 1:12: “Then they returned to Jerusalem from the Mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a Sabbath day’s journey.”

In traveling from California on the Sabbath they also had to stop and change planes a number of times along the way. They had employed the Pilot, co-pilot, and Engineers to fly the plane, as well as the control tower and fuel trucks stewards and stewardesses. They themselves had to carry on and off the plane their luggage. Then in the late afternoon of the Sabbath as it drew to a close they had to employ a Sharute or taxi to get to the Hotel and then check in.

I met them just after the Sabbath had ended and they were checking in and I was on my way out.

They told me in that first couple of minutes how blessed they were to find rooms here because their apartment they had rented had been given to someone else when they were in the air on the Sabbath. I immediately knew why but I did not have time to talk as I headed off to my appointment with other brethren. Yehovah had removed His blessing upon them when they broke His commandment but they thought they were blessed with finding a room.

This group spent each day dragging their luggage around Jerusalem with them. They spend each day looking for a room that night. They paid double what most would have normally paid because they were behind the 8 ball. And they ended up in some very dingy caves. By the end of the week they were all exhausted and fighting with each other and that is how they brought in the 8th day Feast. In Chaos.

It was on this day that I spoke with the head of the family and explained to him about Lev 19 and why I had to tell him and I also told him I would be writing this up for all of you. I am not judging him to death, but it is obvious that he and his family had sinned and were paying the price. I spoke to him in love and out of concern.

They were fortunate that Yehovah had not executed them. Look at Numbers 15. The whole purpose for us to wear Tzit Tzits today is because of the death of this man who forgot or choose not to keep the commandments.

Num 15:32-41 Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him.
Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” So, as the Lord commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.
Tassels on Garments
Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel: Tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined, and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.”

He did not murder someone. This man did not commit pedophilia on some child. He did not rape anyone. He did not steal anything from anyone. This man was just picking up a few sticks on the Sabbath. A few sticks and Yehovah had him executed. He had not even employed a pilot to fly an airplane and their whole crew that goes with that. And yet Yehovah had this poor man executed.

There were others who said they were keeping the crescent moon calendar who would go shopping or out to eat on the High Holy Days when the stores were open because they were all closed the day before on the Jewish High Holy Day or the Hebrew Calendar. They would also shop on the Sabbath if the urge came up. And these same people were coming to me telling me how they had been robbed by the Arabs or asked for sexual gratuities by both Arab and Jew alike. And I would tell them they were buying and selling on the Sabbath and that is why they had been robbed. Then the following week they were telling me about the things they had just bought, again on the Sabbath. Then that night they complained about all the hardships they were going through. Again Yehovah had withdrawn His blessing of Shalom and given them chaos instead.

Just how thick are some people?

Exodus 20:9-11 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

That man who Yehovah had executed was just picking up sticks and because of his sin we now have tzit tzits and yet every one of those I have spoken of was wearing tzit tzits and playing religion, but they were not obeying Yehovah and they were not loving Him and they did not and do not know Him.

But these were not alone.

This year the Jewish High day was on Thursday followed by the Crescent Moon Calendar making our High Days on Friday and then came the Sabbath. It would make for a virtual three day period when you could not buy or sell. I understand some kept one calendar and not the other. I myself found a restaurant on the Jewish High day and ate before my High Day started.

But there are those who were keeping the Crescent moon Calendar who would be flying out on our High Holy Days. They claimed they could not get another flight or they had to be back in time for work or tear down the camp or check out of the hotel. But, there was always some kind of excuse that made it OK to break Yehovah’s commandments.

Then they write saying how they feel Yehovah is not answering their prayers and how they felt far from Yehovah and could not understand why. They had trampled all over the Sabbath and or the High Holy Days and had not repented.

But the guy picking up sticks was executed. IT WAS JUST A FEW STICKS AND HE WAS KILLED and you think you are privileged to disobey because you dress like a messianic or a jew or have a beard of that you wear tzit tzits. You are the ones practicing lawlessness. YOU WHO CLAIM TO KNOW THE LAW!!!

You are being the foolish virgins who think they have already been accepted into the wedding. But they have a rude surprise coming to them and to you. Yehovah does not know you!!!!

Mat 25:11-12 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

Yehovah does not know you because you will not obey Him and you continue to practice not keeping the law!!!! You are lawlessness when you do that. Read what is about to happen at the end of this age.

Mat 13:39-43 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

The tares think they are the good crops. They think they are saved. They do not keep the commandments and don’t care if they break them.

1 John 2:3-6 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

The demons know Yehovah and tremble, but you say you know Yehovah and you are not ashamed nor tremble at breaking His commandments.

James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

When people break the Sabbath or they break the commandments and do not care, then their lives are all chaotic. They are filled with problems and they never seem to be able to get them solved. I have to wonder just how much sin they are continuing to do and never repent of.

David sinned with Bathsheba. He was going to be killed by Yehovah for his sins. After he repented he was forgiven and was not going to die but the curse was leveled on him about the sword and trouble never leaving his house and that the baby would die in 9 months time.

2 Samuel 12:1-14 Then the Lord sent Nathan to David. And he came to him, and said to him: “There were two men in one city, one rich and the other poor. The rich man had exceedingly many flocks and herds. But the poor man had nothing, except one little ewe lamb which he had bought and nourished; and it grew up together with him and with his children. It ate of his own food and drank from his own cup and lay in his bosom; and it was like a daughter to him. And a traveler came to the rich man, who refused to take from his own flock and from his own herd to prepare one for the wayfaring man who had come to him; but he took the poor man’s lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.”

So David’s anger was greatly aroused against the man, and he said to Nathan, “As the Lord lives, the man who has done this shall surely die! And he shall restore fourfold for the lamb, because he did this thing and because he had no pity.”

Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more! Why have you despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in His sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword; you have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the people of Ammon. Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’ Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will raise up adversity against you from your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’ ”

So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”

And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”

Some of these people repented when I spoke to them about what they had done. They would have been forgiven, but the penalty is going to go with them just as it did with David.

I have heard of others who go hunting on the Sabbath for Turkey or Squirrels. Others go fishing. Others go out to dinner on the Sabbath employing the waitress and cook to serve them.

Isaiah 11 is speaking of the 7th Millennium when the world will be at peace. This 7th Millennium is represented each week by the weekly Sabbath. Read it and see if you should be hunting or fishing on the weekly Sabbath.

Isaiah 11:6-9 “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
The cow and the bear shall graze;
Their young ones shall lie down together;
And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole,
And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.

I know people who spend the Sabbath watching TV or doing anything they can find to do just so they will not have to read that bible. Your wife, your husband, and your kids are not to be doing chores or working on the Sabbath.

Exodus 20:8-11 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.

The Sabbath was a gift to you from Yehovah. Do you not see that? Do you not get it?

Mark 2:27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”

Many of you do not get it. You continue to profane the Sabbath. Eager for it to end so you can do your own stuff. Some of you do not even wait and just go ahead and do whatever you want anyway. Then when trouble comes you start to pray and ask Yehovah for help in solving your problems.  You pray and pray but they do not get answered.

You tell yourself that you must endure these hardships for the glory of God. That is stinken Christian thinken which they get from Roman 5:1-4

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope.

What does Yehovah say?

Deut 28:1-2 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:

Do you believe Him or not? If this is not happening to you then time to do an examination of you and your families practices. You endure hardships but you do not repent.

Read Deuteronomy and write down each of the blessings that are happening to you. Then once you have done that go and read Deut 28 starting in verse 15 and write down each of the curses that are happening to you.

“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

But you pray and you pray and nothing happens. Do you ask why? Have you repented and meant it or was that just lip service?

Ezekiel 20:1-4 the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord, and sat before me. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live,” says the Lord God, “I will not be inquired of by you.” ’ Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Then make known to them the abominations of their fathers.

You pray to ask what is going on and Yehovah is not answering your prayers for it to stop or for things to get better. But you never examine yourself to see if what you have been doing is contrary to His will.

Proverbs 1:22-33 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity?
For scorners delight in their scorning,
And fools hate knowledge.
Turn at my rebuke;
Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you.
Because I have called and you refused,
I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,
Because you disdained all my counsel,
And would have none of my rebuke,
I also will laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when your terror comes,
When your terror comes like a storm,
And your destruction comes like a whirlwind,
When distress and anguish come upon you.
“Then they will call on me, but I will not answer;
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
Because they hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the Lord,
They would have none of my counsel
And despised my every rebuke.
Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way,
And be filled to the full with their own fancies.
For the turning away of the simple will slay them,
And the complacency of fools will destroy them;
But whoever listens to me will dwell safely,
And will be secure, without fear of evil.”

Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened,
That it cannot save;
Nor His ear heavy,
That it cannot hear.
But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
And your sins have hidden His face from you,
So that He will not hear.

We just said above that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. Do you understand that? Christians use this verse to justify not keeping the Sabbath. Is that what it says or is this what you think it means?

Ezekiel 20:12-14 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them. Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, “which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them. But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Yehovah gave us the Weekly Sabbath, the Holy Day Sabbaths of Lev 23 and the Sabbatical and Jubilee years of Lev 25. Yehovah gave them to us as a special sign between Him and us. Imagine the Sabbaths as a huge diamond engagement ring that He has made and given to you. Now imagine you take that ring in front of Yehovah and your toss it into a pile of human excrement. Then turn your back on Yehovah and walk away. How angry do you think He might be with you.

Each time He reminds us to keep the Sabbaths, and we walk all over them and trample them, Yehovah has in His mind to wipe us out. He then repents of this and then tries once again to show us the beauty of these Sabbaths.

Ezekiel 20:15-24 So I also raised My hand in an oath to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, ‘flowing with milk and honey,’ the glory of all lands, because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols. Nevertheless My eye spared them from destruction. I did not make an end of them in the wilderness.

“But I said to their children in the wilderness, ‘Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols. I am the Lord your God: Walk in My statutes, keep My judgments, and do them; hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’
“Notwithstanding, the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, and were not careful to observe My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; but they profaned My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness. Nevertheless I withdrew My hand and acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the Gentiles, in whose sight I had brought them out. Also I raised My hand in an oath to those in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the Gentiles and disperse them throughout the countries, because they had not executed My judgments, but had despised My statutes, profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were fixed on their fathers’ idols.

Today you wear those tzit tzits as a memorial to the man who picked up sticks on the Sabbath. You wear those tzits tzits and yet you do not remember why they were made in the first place. A man gave up His life as an example to you in order to spare your life.

The Sabbath is the one sign between us and Yehovah. When we do not value it Yehovah will cause you to be destroyed. When Israel did not keep it they were destroyed. Whether it is one man or one nation the punishment is the same. Are you ready to bear the punishment for breaking the Sabbath, especially when you know better?

We have just until 2020 before the sword comes. Is now the time to be complacent?

We are to Guard the Sabbath. We are also to remember the Sabbath. Guard and Remember, two very important points.

Here is a short note from set apart people, Schalk and Elsa Klee on this.

Remember the Sabbath

Later, when I did my Bible study, I got some very gentle reminders on what the Sabbath is actually about and I had to repent of my poor planning and wrong choices. Worst part is, I pulled my family into this. So, having repented is one thing, but repentance means turning back and not doing the same sin again. Yes, what I did was sin, I did not “remember” the Sabbath and did not set it apart as a result of nor “remembering.” (You will understand later why I put “remember” in quotes.)

YHVH commanded us to remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy (set apart.)

Exodus 20:8–11
8 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 “Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of YHVH your Elohim; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. 11“For in six days YHVH made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore YHVH blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
What does it actually mean to remember the Sabbath? The Hebrew word “zakar” is translated as remember.

2349 I. ????? (z?·??r): v.; ? Str 2142; TWOT 551—1. LN 29.6–29.12 (qal) remember, i.e., to recall information or events (2Ki 9:25); (nif) remembered (Eze 33:13); 2. LN 29.16–29.18 (qal) remember, i.e., to recall information or events, with a focus on responding in an appropriate manner (Ex 6:5); (qal pass.) be remembered (Ps 103:14), see also 2345; (nif) remembered, invoked (Hos 2:19); (hif) mention, remind, cause to remember (Ge 40:14); 3. LN 33.218–33.223 (hif) proclaim, tell, i.e., assert truths about one, as one speaks publicly, implying that this information has been known before (Jer 4:16)2
When I read this verse now, after looking at the meaning of the word, it has new meaning to me. We are to remember the Sabbath in everything we do, even during the week, and plan accordingly. “Remember with a focus on responding in an appropriate manner. “ For, if we don’t plan, we end up like I did, compromising and breaking YHVH’s commandment by not setting this day apart.

Maybe YHVH specifically commanded us to remember the Sabbath because He knows how easily we “forget.” After having kept the Sabbath for so many years, I also “forgot” in a way as I was not diligent in remembering, assuming that it would be fine. YHVH is faithful though and showed me the error of my ways. I am so thankful for that.

Keep the Sabbath

We are not only commanded to remember the Sabbath, but also to keep it. In Leviticus 26:2 YHVH commanded us to keep His Sabbaths. Why did YHVH use a different word here?

Leviticus 26:2
2 ‘You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary; I am YHVH.
The Hebrew word “samar” was used here. No word in Scripture is redundant, so lets look at the meaning of this word.

9068 ?????? (š?·m?r): v.; ? Str 8104; TWOT 2414—1. LN 13.1–13.47 (qal) keep, i.e., cause a state or condition to remain (Job 2:6; Ps 17:4); (qal pass.) be kept, set aside (1Sa 9:24+); (hitp) keep oneself (2Sa 22:24; Ps 18:24[EB 23]+); 2. LN 37.119–37.126 (qal) guard, watch, i.e., limit access and movement of persons or objects in and out of an area, implying protection to or from the object being guarded (Ge 3:24); (qal pass.) be secured (2Sa 23:5; Ecc 5:12[EB 13]+), note: for qal act. ptcp. as noun, see 9070.5; 3. LN 36.12–36.30 (qal) observe, keep, i.e., obey a command with diligence and in detail (Lev 19:30); (hitp) observe for oneself(Mic 6:16+); 4. LN 27.55–27.60 (qal) be careful, beware, pay attention, make sure, watch oneself, guard oneself, i.e., learn or remember information and take care to watch for dangers (Dt 5:32); (nif) be careful (Ex 23:21); 5. LN 35.36–35.46 (qal) care for, tend, keep, attend to, take care of an object, implying concern for the objects cared for (Hos 12:13[EB 12]), note: this can be animals or other objects; (nif) cared for (Hos 12:14[EB 13]); 6. LN 31.82–31.101 (qal) revere, cling to, i.e., have a worshipful trust and reliance on an object of deity, as an extension of carefully guarding or caring for an object (Ps 31:7[EB 6]); (piel) cling to, revere, care for (Jnh 2:9[EB 8]+)2
Wow, just consider the rich meaning of this word and see how beautifully it connects with the previous word we looked at. “Samar” means to set aside, guard, watch, observe, be careful, beware and to pay attention. It is almost as if YHVH, knowing our nature, warns us with these words “zakar” and “samar.” We need to heed this warning, for if we don’t, we will compromise and break His commandments.

You know; this also helped me understand Jewish halacha a bit better. We do not agree with all their extra laws and restrictions, but I can certainly see the intention behind it. They have put fences in place in order to remember and guard the Sabbath better. This is not a problem, as long as we know what is commanded by YHVH and what is man’s laws. It does make it difficult though, especially for new believers to differentiate between YHVH’s commandments and those of man. We, therefor, advice against following these extra instructions.

All we need to do according to Scripture is to remember and guard the Sabbaths(plural, referring to the feast days and Sabbatical years also), and every person will do this in a different way. Do it in your own special way, by considering what you do before you do it and by planning ahead of time. YHVH will show you His way, and He will show you when you stray from it like He showed me on this day.

You know what’s great about making mistakes? Learning from them, because it makes our foundation stronger, as long as we remember what we have learned. That is also why we get to read about all the mistakes of the Israelites, it is instruction for us.

Why am I carrying on about this?

We have been keeping the Sabbath for many years and have come to experience the Sabbath as our life-line, a true delight. Keeping the Sabbath day makes it possible for us to cope with all the stresses we experience during the week. Even more so, it strengthens us spiritually to face life with all its challenges. It also builds our faith and makes our foundation stronger through study and fellowship. When you have been keeping the Sabbath for quite a while, you tend to take this for granted, you may even think you have it all figured out. That is a huge mistake! The Apostle Paul taught: ” let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall“

1 Corinthians 10:12
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.
A very valid warning for every one of us. Do you understand now why YHVH commanded us to remember and guard the Sabbath? Two small words, but so profound!

So why do we actually need to set this day apart? We shall give you a very concise answer to this question. If you’d like more detail, you could go and read the previous articles about Shabbat as we go into much more detail. You will find a link to all the previous articles underneath this post under the heading related articles.

Why do we need to set this day apart?
We as human beings, tend to drift off in our own direction. YHVH gave us this day to re-calibrate us in a way. It brings us back to our Creator and gives us enough time with Him to re-align us with Him and His way for another week in the world.

Not only do we re-charge spiritually, because we spend time with YHVH, we also rest physically from our labors. This is beneficial to our health. So, if we keep the Sabbath as YHVH Intended, we will enter His rest physically and spiritually, and we will experience His peace during the day and be refreshed afterwards. It is up to us to choose to remember and guard this day in order to keep it set apart. We can easily sabotage this day if we don’t.

On set apartness; we are busy with an extensive study on the meaning of set apartness, so please subscribe to make sure you don’t miss this.

Conclusion
In conclusion, we want to press you on the heart to remember and guard the Sabbath. Don’t assume anything. Plan diligently to set this day apart. It was important to YHVH from the very beginning, He blessed this day and set it apart. It is a sign that we are His. Don’t take it for granted and don’t start compromising. Heed this warning for it is life to you in more than one way. Choose life!

Deuteronomy 30:19
19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

I would like to conclude this weeks rebuke with a note I just got from my dear friend Barb Hemphill. She lives in Alberta Canada. She is a pillar of strength in this walk to myself and many others.

Brother joe,

Absolute testimony to the faithfulness of our awesome Yah.
The fire broke out 3.45 pm yesterday. 120kph winds downed a power line 2 km west of us. In 5 mins it was coming up to our properties from the valley in front and down from the highway above.
My youngest daughters house is the first one in picture.
The fire went right up to the deck poles and to my garden shed and a few feet from my back door but I lost nothing . Absolutely nothing.
Neither did sarah or the neighbours in between us. (That house used to be my son’s. )
Actually sarah and Scott lost the kids tree fort but nothing else.
We are still evacuated as there are hot spots. The winds are continuing til tomorrow and all of Coleman is on evacuation alert with the fire now in the forest on west side of the ridge . If it goes over the ridge Coleman is in big trouble.
Sarah and Scott were just escorted in to our places so they could get stuff and sarah sent me videos of it all and her comment was. ” it was knocking at your door mum”. She said she was in tears the whole time at how Yahs hand was so incredibly obvious in protecting our homes, especially mine.

We got back from Cincinnati early Tuesday morning. It was a great sukkot there. The kids loved the ark encounter and the creation museum too. We went to a UCG Shabbat service but that’s all with their holy days being on different days.
I kept up with your jerusalem posts, again Yahs hand being obvious in the Joshua altar trip.
I assume you are safely home. Did you see peter and rhonda, Elsa and schalk?

Blessings love and always the hugs

Barb

Love and blessings

My house from up near the highway

After 2 days of evacuation we were allowed to return to our acreage homes this afternoon. It rained well overnight and today and the horrific Winds that started and fuelled the fire are finally calm. The blackened land is very ugly but almost everything that was burned will come back in the spring. I really choked up when I walked around my house to see just how close the fire had come. As my daughter said, ” it was knocking at your door mum”. I have lost nothing whatsoever and am singing for joy at the faithfulness of GOd because evidence of His hand in protecting us down here in our valley is everywhere.

Licking at the Door

There is also a video showing the flames all around the house and a great deal of smoke. And you can hear the wind howling as it pushes the fire closer and closer. But the house was not touched.

Those who obey Yehovah, He has promised to protect our property while we are away.

Exodus 34:24 For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither will any man covet your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year.

Love = An act of self-sacrafice for another. If it doesn’t meet this simple test, then is’s NOT an act of love. Thinking good thoughts or wishing good tidings to another just doesn’t apply.
An act requires physical action… even to an ox in the ditch.
    Simply & Daily:
By giving up your precious planned time (scheduled events) for another, or giving up some, or all, of your stored wealth from your own labor (money, commodities and belongings) for another’s benefit willingly and cheerfully… without grudge nor expectation of any compensation or recognition.
    Principally & Ultimately:
By sacrificing your physical life for another’s… as per many acts recorded in acts-of-heroism on a battle field, in fires, and other catastrophic events.
    The Greatest:
The willing sacrifice of your own spiritual (immortal) life for the salvation of another… a requirement that is guaranteed to empty most of the churches of christendom.

    Joseph,
A good word. Can’t say exactly I enjoyed it, but I did appreciate it. With all of our learning and studying, it is good to get back to the basics. Re-plumb our selves so to speak.
I wanted to mention, last year in Israel we read the Torah at the city of David. I enjoyed it and got the opportunity to read Deut.32. An honor. I was reading it again this year and again realized again the difficult word it was for Israel. I noticed though a distinction this time. In verse 21, it mentions using “lo ami” or not my people. The same ones as Hosea 1:9, and Hosea 2:23 and Romans 9:25. It is a hard chapter, but there makes a distinction between the House of Judah, and the House of Ephraim. Sadly it shows a very rough road ahead for Judah, and we know us as well. Still I was excited that it is a promise of His to use Ephraim . Its a promise (again) that we are back in the picture. Back, being used by him. You may have already noticed this vesre almost hidden in the chapter. For me to stumble on it was exciting.
Enjoyed seeing your pictures of Israel. Maybe next year.
    Shalom!

    Hi Joseph,
thank you for this insightful newsletter……I now finally realize and understand why my prayers have not been answered and why Yehovah is withholding His blessings. Yehovah bless you for speaking out and teaching us His ways.

Thank you for another awesome and timely newsletter. This verse makes even more sense to me when I see the word Sabbath expressed as the 7th millennial Sabbath. Mark 2:27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” Yehovah wanted mankind to enjoy the perfect world He envisioned, but He also wanted them to have free choice. The millennial Sabbath is His great gift and blessing to us after we’ve been refined in the fire and return fully to His image as before sin entered the picture. And it might even be telling us that Yeshua is the Master of this millennial Sabbath (with David as King). Just as Moshe, under Yehovah’s guiding hand.

From what I understand about the Scriptures, the Father rested on the Sabbath after creating all things. It was at that time that He instituted it for Adam and Eve (which many forget about), and from that time forward, He has put in place the Sabbath of rest for all of creation. I enjoy the time by spending it admiring His work through animals, trees, plants, flowers, water, the birds… anything that I can rest to see and hear, He brings in my path. There is such peace in Yehovah’s created order, if you look and listen for it. I remember Elijah listening for the voice of Yehovah in the furious things that He created, such as the hurricane/tornado, and the earthquake and finally finding His voice in the stillness of creation. I recommend to anyone who cannot hear the voice of our Elohim, to go to the stillness of nature and listen. We get so busy in our minds, even in our willingness to follow Sabbath, that we do not hear the still small voice of Yehovah – thoughts are noisy business. I find Sabbath a refreshing time to listen to His voice in the birds, in the rippling water, and even the leaves in the wind, for they all speak of the glory of His mighty hand and of His eternal love for us. As Yehoshua said, even the rocks would cry out.” I can testify that they do indeed.

    Alas…
    I really like figs.
The joy of them falling all about as we wait patiently under their tree… anticipating to see, and to hear, what they show and say.
But, to do this, we must have the spiritual discernment to see, and/or hear them ‘fact’ually vs.’truth’fully’
(fact is evidential and concerned with what is actually the case rather than any interpretations or reactions to it): [for example, a mixture of comment and factual information may be, or not be, ‘truth’ful in intent, but nevertheless, is not ‘fact’ual simply by the potential act of of the commentator adding or deleting, from it.]
It should be stated that satanic forces use the more subtle lies-of-omission over comissive-lies more effectively most of the time.
Therefore, we must prey continually for one of the promised gifts of the holy spirit: the ability to discern (to set apart or aside) and have the ability to discriminate (see and hear) the sometimes subtile differences between ‘Fact’ and the sometimes intended ‘Truth’ or falsehood in the spirit of: “PROVE ALL THINGS THAT THEY BE SO, AND HOLD FAST TO THAT WHICH IS GOOD.”
