Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom Brothers and Sisters of Yehovah family,

The Start of the 6th Month

This Sunday August 12, 2018 is potentially the start of the 6th month. Once Again I would like to ask each and every one of you to go out after sunset and look for the crescent moon to begin the month. And if you see it report it here in the comments section. And if you do not see it report it here from around the world.
You are practicing to understand why no man can know the day or the hour. Let us know your results in the comment section at the bottom of this article.

In the Mail this week

One of the posts had the following comment from last week and I thought you all should read it. it is written by Jan Sytsma

I learned this last week and it brought out even more of what Joe said in this weeks teaching. It’s as though Joe knew my thoughts. I’d like to share this if you approve.
Do you see the connection to WISDOM and The Torah? The Hebrew language shows it plain and clear!
Chokmah – Means “wisdom”
It comes from
Chakam – Means “to be wise” or “to become wise”
chukim – Means “rulings” plural (Refer to Deu 4:1 below which says “the laws” in English)
cho?q or khoke Means “rulings”
This is the word translated as “the laws” in Deu 6:1
Right-rulings is mishpat …judgments
DO YOU SEE the connection of RULINGS (His Laws) to the word Chakam ….To be wise?
Deu 4:1 “And now, O Yisra’?l, listen to the laws and the right-rulings (el-ha-chukim v’el-ha-mishpatim)
which I am teaching you to do, so that you live, and shall go in and possess the land which ???? Elohim of your fathers is giving you.
Deu 6:1 “And this is the command, the laws and right-rulings which ???? your Elohim has commanded, to teach you to do in the land which you are passing over to possess,
Deu 6:2 so that you fear ???? your Elohim, to guard all His laws and His commands which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days be prolonged.
Deu 6:3 “And you shall hear, O Yisra’?l, and shall guard to do, that it might be well with you, and that you increase greatly as ???? Elohim of your fathers has spoken to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
Deu 6:4 “Hear, O Yisra’?l: ???? our Elohim, ???? is one!
Proverbs 2:6 For Yehovah gives wisdom; Out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of Yehovah is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Set-apart One is understanding.
Proverbs 14:6 A scoffer shall seek wisdom but find none, But knowledge is swift to him who has understanding.
Psalm 119:172 My tongue shall speak Your Word, for all Your Commandments are righteousness.
And NOW, this piece of wisdom is just awesome….
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.
Psalm 119:172 My tongue shall speak Your Word, for all Your Commandments are righteousness.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.
You get it by studying His Word…His Torah is exactly what James is telling you to do!!!! WISDOM comes from the root word for LAW (English) RULINGS (correct translation)
The ROOT determines the meaning of the other words. WISDOM comes from LAW/RULINGS!!!!
All those James was teaching would clearly know this.
Also note James does NOT tell you to study Paul’s letters NOR even does he use the name Jesus….He points to ELOHIM…The Father and the Aleph Tav who is Jesus in the flesh.)
Proverbs 4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding…
Psalm 119:169 “Let my cry come near to You, O Jehovah; give me wisdom according to Your Word.”
NOW, this ties wonderfully with what Joe was sharing about HOPE having a meaning of a cistern (or a bucket) holding the LIVING WATER.
Yeshua is the LIVING TORAH…..the Living Rulings and Righteous Judgments… WHICH also means WISDOM. The Rulings (Law) mean Wisdom.
When HE Says GET WISDOM…He is saying GET THE LAW/RULINGS. GET the LIVING WATER and put it in “your cistern” to drink from throughout your day.
Wisdom of the Rulings is in this cistern / bucket for us to draw from.

Last week we finally added the teaching we did with a private group explaining how to understand the Charts and how to read them and what they all mean. They asked me questions and I answered them and explained it so they could understand. But we also recorded it and now we can share it with all of you. You can view it at https://youtu.be/l2mCHhHbY9A

Shalom Mr. Dumond,

I just want thank you for the video you added to your presentation page on You Tube. It was great to sit and have my questions answered through the discussions there in.. I was exited to see that although i learned this on my own most of my understanding was correct. Although there were things that I learned I had not seen in full
Lewis told me  he thought i  did a good job explaining it all to him so that was encouraging most over all to me.
I told you how I did my life cycle up to this year in a 49 year chart. I noticed very quickly that I started keeping the Sabbath and Holy Days (Incorrectly though) during the 6th cycle of Atonement. What I didn’t notice was it fell directly on  the Return to Yehovah year which almost made me fall straight out of my chair. Wow wow wow..
There is no denying the blessings in my life matched the research. I hope I not coming off haughty. I know this is not about me other than having to look at myself before anything.
Has anyone else mentioned to you anything about matching their life cycle to a 49 year chart like I just did??? Be interesting to hear what others found. Although I was near bursting with excitement I didn’t want to sound like a nut on your website and take away from the work you been so diligently presenting to us .
There has been a few other things I noticed in my life chart that definitely prove Yehovah’s design in it as I shared in the email when I first told you about this. It was what hammered the last nail in the Ark for me.
Look back and see when as I knew I had to start supporting you again after my mother died back around my birthday. What I didn’t notice was how the last cycle of my life matched up to keeping the Sabbatical years to joining the family of Elohim. Wow wow wow!!!!!
Anyhow needed to share that with anyone who might have understanding on the significance of what I seem to have learned.
As always thank you and know that there are some here in North America not spiritually dead but more alive than they ever been.
Thanks again Mr. Dumond Shalom to you and yours.

Update on World Events

It is now Thursday evening and I am about to post this week’s News Letter.  But there has been a number of things take place this week that trouble me. They trouble me because they are taking place in the order that precludes these end times and when I see it, I also see the many who deny and refuse to repent and will not believe. As I said we did a large campaign in the Anglo Saxon nations only to be met with stiff resistance. You can also see examples of this in the comments section of the News Letter for the past few weeks.
Last week Canadian Global Affairs Twitter account on Friday said it was “gravely concerned” about “additional arrests of civil society and women’s rights activists,” and urging the Saudi government to release them. In past years many nations have said similar things and the Saudi’s would just grumble under their breath and then move on. But not this time.
This lame attempt at standing for Human Rights was met with a strong rebuke from the Saudi Prince and Social Media. A Saudi Youth Groups issued this image on Twitter.

This does not go unnoticed when you recall that 15 of the 19 attackers of 9/11 were Saudi citizens.
Saudi Arabia then kicked out our Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and has called on the Kingdom to dump all Canadian investments even it if at a loss. Our Prime Minister is a weak leader on the world stage who prefers photo opts rather than engage in the business of the state on the world stage.
To show you how sad things are Prime Minister Trudeau’s one claim to fame thus far is to legalise Marijuana across Canada. Our New Premier of Ontario has just become elected a couple weeks ago and is now endorsing ” Buck  A Beer” Campaign to promote the economy. With weak leadership, other nations think they can bully their way past our defences. And Saudi Arabia is doing this although I do not at this time know the end game in this arena.
Like the Palestinians of Gaza who are firing countless rockets into the areas around Gaza where the Iron Dome does not have enough time to react and intercept them, many of the rockets are getting through and landing in civilian areas of Sderot and many other cities that border Gaza. Then when the IDF returns fire and takes out those mortar launch areas, the media says Israel is attacking the poor people of Gaza. I just saw this on the BBC tonight after I had seen the reports from Israel live. Saudi Arabia is no victim the same as the Palestinians are not victims. They bring this on themselves and then stomp their feet and scream until they get the attention they want or get their way.
Another thing I saw this week was that the USA said they would impose sanctions on Iran and anyone else who did business with Iran. The EU, our NATO partners, said they would do business with Iran and protect those companies in the EU that also did business with Iran. Trouble is those businesses do billions of dollars in trade with Iran but they also do Trillions of dollars in trade with the USA. So they will heed the sanctions even if the EU Government says they will not. Money talks and everything else walks. This is the same EU which is led by Germany that is doing billions of dollars in trade with Russia while asking the USA to back them militarily against Russia. President Trump called them out on this.
Why are they not doing that trade deal with their NATO partners like the USA? It would offset the trade imbalance that President Trump is hot and heavy about. I agree with President Trump on this.
Then We have Turkey, who are again NATO partners with the USA. Turkey is holding a Christian pastor one Andrew Brunson and President Trump and Vice President Pence both have called President Erdogan for his release and have stopped the shipment of 100 F-35 Fighter Jets to Turkey. Again this is NATO ally or it is supposed to be one.

The ban, the release added, can only be lifted if the White House can certify that the Turkish government is not undermining NATO and is not unlawfully jailing US citizens, among other conditions.

Then we have Turkey Iraq and China who have all stated that they will not support the sanctions against Iran. Turkey is our NATO Ally. Iraq is the nation the USA just liberated from Saddam Hussein and continues to have troops there now and has aided Iraq in defeating ISIS. No, I am not ignorant of the mess of Iraq because of the US attack on it. But I do recall the events and the lead up to that attack very clearly.
Since President Trump has come to the White House and to Washington to drain the swamp, the liberal left have been screaming their heads off and objecting to all things Trumps does. Even the media, for the most part, is against all his efforts, but the President does not help his own affairs with the things he also tweets. This led to the fake news reports and the attacks against CNN and other network news.
Then this past week Info Wars was taken down. Not just by one organisartion but by 5 all on the same day.
Here is what the Trumpet Brief had to say on this.

Dear Joseph,

We at the Trumpet depend on free speech. Speech that is guaranteed not only legally by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, but also by a society willing to countenance voices from outside the mainstream. God’s truth is definitely outside the mainstream. The Trumpet keeps a watchful eye on the ways this speech is being increasingly curtailed in public discourse by various forms of speech suppression and censorship. Among them are legal challenges against religious freedom, draconian firings of employees with “politically incorrect” views, exclusion of nonconformist guest speakers from university campuses, calls for public shaming and ostracism, even violence aimed to intimidate and silence.
It appears we have just witnessed a sudden escalation in this trend.
Firebrand radio host and commentator Alex Jones has some very unorthodox views, including erroneous conspiracy theories. Over a period of 24 hours at the start of this week, Apple, Facebook, Google, Pinterest and Spotify rapidly clamped down on his content. Apple removed five out of Jones’s six podcasts on Sunday. Early Monday, Facebook removed four pages controlled by Jones and Google banned the Alex Jones Channel from YouTube. Pinterest also removed its InfoWars board, and Spotify took down all episodes of The Alex Jones Show.
All five companies claim Jones violated their hate speech policies. Apple representative told BuzzFeed News, “Apple does not tolerate hate speech, and we have clear guidelines that creators and developers must follow to ensure we provide a safe environment for all of our users.” Facebook also released a detailed press statement on the matter: “As a result of reports we received, last week, we removed four videos on four Facebook Pages for violating our hate speech and bullying policies.”
Despite these reasons for censoring Jones’s opinions, there is no single explanation for why all five companies chose the same 24-hour period to crack down on his views. The move appears to have been coordinated by social media executives.
Jones’s rhetoric is often controversial and inflammatory. But this is only the latest example of the broader, concerning problem of Silicon Valley censorship. Apple, Facebook, Google, Pinterest and Spotify are private companies, but their power to regulate the market of ideas has grown to an extent that makes them like quasi-government actors. In effect, Silicon Valley has acquired the muscle to enact de facto restrictions on free speech.
Authoritarian governments in China and Iran regulate what information their citizens can see online. The First Amendment forbids Congress from enacting censorship laws. But that doesn’t stop these tech companies from making decisions with similar effects.
“[T]his isn’t about whether you like Jones or think he’s a reprehensible human being,” Holly Scheer wrote for the Federalist. “Rather, this is about what it means for our society if a few tech companies should be able to decide for everyone what information is available, and what is over the line.”
As the New American Morality grows more fanatical, powerful, stringent and hostile to biblical morality, the Trumpet, by standing its ground, finds itself more on the fringe.
We are well aware of an end-time prophecy where God’s message is marginalized as “the land is not able to bear all his words.” Public antagonism will combine with political force to abolish that message. “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord” (Amos 8:11).
We do appreciate your continued interest and support. Send me your thoughts on the issue at jhilliker@thetrumpet.com.

Anyone who has been reading the Sightedmoon.com News Letter will know just how much I dislike the things that come from INFO WARS and the conspiracy teaching he has put forward and that many of you have believed true. This information has tainted your testimony whenever you shared the Torah with others because you mixed it with INFO WARS lies. I have reprimanded you on this a number of times.
At the same time, I have not stopped those with different views from expressing them on our comments section at the end of each News Letter. I value other views but I do not have to agree with them.
Read Luke 18:1

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”
Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

We are near the end of this age. the Sabbatical and Jubilee years prove this. We are seeing the USA being alienated by its very own NATO Allies. Will Yehovah find faith when He comes? Faith is doing the will of the Father.

Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,

One day very soon you will see and hear how society will no longer tolerate anyone who speaks things that do not match what that society believes in. We are almost there. Our videos and our website will disappear one day without notice.
Persecutions Are Coming

Mat 10:16“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
“Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

But that time is not yet here. So while you can, while you still have breath, while you still are able to speak freely, speak out and warn your brethren of their sins and the curses that are now happening. Explain to them why California is plagued by wildfire. And soon they will be plagued by mudslides. Tell them why these curses are going across Europe and North America and why Australia is in another horrible drought with their animals dying off. Tell them, while you still can.

Galatians Law and Grace

2 Thess 2:1-12 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

I wanted to start with this verse before we get into our study this week. The falling away of many comes first. But those who do not love the law of Yehovah, those who are without the law of the Torah, those who are the same as the LAWLESS ONE, will be given by Yehovah strong delusion so that they will continue to believe the lies of the unrighteous one. They will think they are right and holy and…

John 16:1-4 “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them.

The time is coming when those who do not keep the law will kill you because you do keep the law and they will think they do it for the service of God.
I want you all to think about these things as you go through this week’s study on Galatians. How the blind Christian guides have misled all of us in teaching us that the law was done away.

This week we continue to study the works of Paul.

We have been showing you these past few weeks about the teachings of Paul and how they were as Peter said twisted by those who know not the Torah.

2Pe 3:16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

We are showing you how many in the Christian world use grace in order NOT to keep the law and this is where they have erred. At the same time as we do this, this teaching will cause many in the Messianic groups to become uncomfortable. I know I am when I study this. Why? Because we too, need to be reminded that we are not saved because we keep the Torah. There is a line that some cross between keeping Torah for the Love of Yehshua and keeping all the other laws to justify themselves.
Consider the following verse in Luke 18:9-14;

9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men–extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

What I have come to learn this week as I prepared this study was something that has nagged at me for a long time. Then this week I heard it again on the radio. One of the Christian radio stations used this verse to despise the Pharisee because he kept Torah or the law. The radio host then went on to say that “We are saved by grace”.
What he was doing was putting down the Jewish Torah and he was exulting those who only need to be saved by grace. I am not going to get into his sermon but it reminded me of this theme that both Yehshua and Paul were addressing. In fact, now as I think about it Yehshua was addressing it a number of times and we have never gotten it. Paul is more plain and this is where his message gets confused by those who do not know the scriptures.
It is not the Pharisee or the Torah that is being put down. It is the attitude that is being shown as contemptible. The Pharisee thought he was saved because he kept the Law because he kept the Torah. The Tax collector knew he had not and was guilty of sin and he was in a state of repentance.
As you go through this lesson and next week’s lesson on Romans please keep the above scripture in mind. It is not the Pharisee Yehshua is attacking, it is the attitude of self-righteousness.

Law and Grace – Galatians explained

We are looking at this subject as this is the one topic that prevents Judah from coming to know Yehshua. They are prevented because of how they see all those who call themselves Christian trying to do away with the Torah. It is how those who call themselves Christian actually take the scriptures and twist it and try to sell paganism back to those who actually know what Torah says. It is on this subject that those who call themselves Christian become an embarrassment to all of Yehshua’s followers, due to the hypocrisy of the way they quote scriptures. With their lack of understanding of Jewish ways and that Yehshua was a Torah observant Jew and that He never sinned. This means He kept both the law and had grace at the same time.

Unless you know Torah, you cannot understand how grace is applied. So please read the following very carefully and do not rush through it. In fact, many of you should read the following more than a couple of times. Even Monthly until we all get it.
I am going to quote from Torah Rediscovered by Ariel and D’vorah Berkowitz. Pages 111-115.

Another factor contributing to the misinterpretation of Sha’ul is the language he uses, especially in Romans and Galatians, in discussing the believers relationship to the Torah. We have two specific phrases in mind: upo nomon (“Under the law”) and erga nomou (“works of the law”). When Sha’ul uses these terms, it is generally in a negative light.

Look, for example, at Romans 6:14 which reads “for you are not under law but under grace [italics ours]”. Here Sha’ul is stressing that the believer in Yehshua is dependent on Messiah for his salvation, which he can only receive through the grace of Yahweh. An example of the second phrase, “works of the law”, is found in Galatians 2:16 “knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Yehshua the Messiah”. Whatever “works of law” means, it is clearly being used in a negative sense, denoting something opposed to having faith in Yehshua for salvation. Indeed, Sha’ul rebuked the Galatians for trusting in works of law.
In these passages, Sha’ul was teaching against legalism-the attempt to earn, merit, or keep ones salvation through obedience to law. But there were no sufficient words to express ‘legalism.” Instead he had to use certain phrases which, interpreted incorrectly, could easily lead one to believe that he was against Torah.

C.E.B. Cranfield has shed some light on the meaning of these two Greek phrases, helping us to perceive what Sha’ul actually meant as well as to understand more fully his true stand on the Torah.

‘It will be well to bear in mind the fact (which, as far as we know, had not received attention before it was noted) that the Greek language of Paul’s day possessed no word group corresponding to our “legalism”, “legalist”, and “legalistic”. This means that he lacked a convenient terminology for expressing a vital distinction, and so was surely seriously hampered in the work of clarifying the Christian position with regard to the law. In view of this we should always, we think, be ready to reckon with the possibility that Pauline statements, which at first sight seem to disparage the law, are really directed not against the law itself but against that misunderstanding and misuse of it for which we now have a convenient terminology.’

We encounter the same dilemma in the Hebrew language. There is no Hebrew word which can easily convey the concepts of “legalism” or “legalist”. Thus Sha’ul, whether using his Hebrew-oriented mind or his Greek language, was hindered in his attempts to explain that legalism was not what Yahweh intended.

The next detrimental theological tradition we must bring to light is the long standing misinterpretation of nomos/torah in the Book of Galatians. This is the book that says, “But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law” (5:18). Moreover, such people have “fallen from grace” (5:4). In addition, “I Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you.” (5:2).
These rather harsh-sounding statements, among a host of others in this letter, have been used for centuries against any believer who desired to follow Torah-especially in regard to circumcision, Shabbat observance, or any other non-moral issue. What are we to make of them?

The explanation is rather simple; all we have to know are two basic facts. The first is the hermeneutical principle established by Acts 21:20. If it appears that Sha’ul was teaching against the Torah in any way, that impression has to give to the truth of how he lived his life. If Acts 21 tells us that Sha’ul lived his life according to the Torah and encouraged other to do the same, then we will miss the boat if we interpret Galatians as coming from an anti-Torah viewpoint.

The second fact to bear in mind is the hermeneutical principle of context, especially the context of the whole book. To be specific, the context of the letter to the Galatians is that of justification by faith. Sha’ul was warning them not to make a “law” out of the Torah. By turning Yahweh`s teaching and covenant into a list of legalistic laws, the Galatians were abandoning the principle of justification by faith and resorting to justification by works. They were using the Torah as a means of earning, meriting, or keeping the eternal salvation which they had received by grace through faith in the finished work of Yahshua.

Sha’ul provides several indications that this was the case with the Galatians. The first was in 2:16, “nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but through faith in Messiah Yahshua, even we have believed in Messiah Yahshua, that we may be justified by faith in Messiah, and not by the works of the law; since by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” The issue on Sha’ul’s mind was Yahweh’s requirement for our justification.

Looking at the Greek of Galatians 2:16, we find that the definite article before the phrase “works of law” has been left out. It is not, as many English versions translate it, “works of the law”. If the translator adds the definite article, it helps the reader to assume that “the law” is a reference to the Torah. In fact, however it is not. “Works of law” is a phrase indicating a man-made system of works, of which performance based acceptance, is the core belief. Ergon nomou should be translated “works of law”

Thus, Galatians 2:16 should read: ‘knowing that a man is not justified by works of law but through faith in Messiah Yahshua, even we have believed in Messiah Yahshua, that we may be justified by faith in Messiah, and not by works of law; since by works of law shall no flesh be justified.”

Galatians 5:4 reads, “You have been severed from Messiah, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.” Many use this verse to demonstrate that those who follow the Torah have fallen from the grace of Yahweh because they are obeying the “law” instead of Messiah-who, it is argued, set them free from the law. In defense of this position, they cite the context (verse 2-3): “Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Messiah will be of no benefit to you. And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is under obligation to keep the whole law.” They say, “If you do what Torah says and circumcise your sons, you are no longer following Yahshua.”

Our response, Sha’ul himself provides the key for the correct understanding of this passage in verse 4, in which he tells us that anyone who observes Torah while “seeking to be justified by law” will encounter serious difficulties.

Some of the Galatians thought that obeying the Torah (or any set of standards) would cause them to receive their spiritual heritage-justification before Yahweh. However, the moment a person believes that obedience can secure righteousness, he has moved from the realm of grace, into that of works. The blessings of Yahweh, he thinks, are attainable as a result of what he does.
Sha’ul, on the other hand, says that such a person has fallen from the principle of grace to the principle of “law.” In effect, when one believes such an erroneous teaching, the atonement accomplished by Yahshua has no value for him, since he is relying on what he does instead of what Yahshua did for him.

The teachings of the Torah were never to be used for such a purpose. Eternal salvation is based on the receiving the promises of Yahweh, which are given by grace to those who do not deserve them. The only acceptable response to this grace is to receive it by faith, rather than to attempt to earn it by doing something. If we obey the Torah in order to enjoy the blessings of the grace of Yahweh received by faith, we are not “fallen from grace”; but rather, we are embracing the grace of Yahweh for our lives. Put another way, if man tries to earn the blessings of Yahweh instead of appropriating Messiah’s life, he has abandoned the principle of grace and fallen to the principle of “law”. To live the Torah is to live our new creation life in Messiah: it is actually His life in us, a life of grace and truth. Thus, the Torah is Yahweh’s revelation to those born of Him, concerning how they are to act in line with truth of the Good News. (Galatians 2:1)

Real biblical faith is the kind of trust in Yahweh that always results in a changed way of life. The Torah (as well as the New Covenant-Brit Chadasha) describes what that changed life looks like. It does not cause that changed life. That is the miraculous work of Yahweh, born of His grace.

Our point was to establish the fact that the statements in the letter which seem to teach against the Torah are not against it at all if one uses the Torah properly. There were some Galatians who were turning the Torah into “law” by using it as a means of justification rather than as a way of life resulting from their justification.

From another book by Ariel and D’vorah Berkowitz called Hold Fast we read on pages 143-149 the following.

Even more so than the letter to the Romans, the epistle to the Galatians is cited to discourage those in the body of Messiah who desire to live according to the teachings of Moses.

All of the so called “problem passages” from Galatians can easily be answered in a Torah-positive way if we simply bear in mind the context of the whole book of Galatians. The context is established in the letter’s thesis statement in 2:15-16: “We are Jews by nature and not sinners from among the Gentiles; nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Messiah Yahshua , even we have believed in Messiah Yahshua, so that we may be justified by faith in Messiah and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.
Please note what we just explained in the passage above about ‘works of law’.

The thesis is this: No person may be justified before Yahweh by obeying any list of rules or teachings. That is legalism. Rather, justification is a gift of Yahweh given by grace to those who rely solely on the person and work of Messiah Yahshua.
One of the problems in the Galatians fellowship was that there were apparently teachers circulating either from within or from without who were saying that justification is achieved by a combination of faith plus works. In other words, they were teaching that a person had to do the Torah in addition to trusting Messiah in order for Yahweh to declare him righteous. Accordingly, we can expect to find many seemingly anti-Torah statements in this letter, which we do! If we remember this background then we can realize that Paul is not teaching against Torah, but he is writing against a legalistic observance of the Torah. Let us examine several passages from this oft-misunderstood letter.

Galatians 2:15-16
“We are Jews by nature and not sinners from among the Gentiles; nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.

As we have already stated, this passage is the thesis statement for this letter to the Galatians. The issue on Paul’s mind was Yahweh’s requirement for our justification.

There is one more point from verse 16 that we would like to make. Thus this phrase is Ergon nomou and should be translated “works of law”.

Accordingly, Galatians 2:16 should read ‘knowing that a man is not justified by works of law but through faith in Messiah Yahshua, even we have believed in Messiah Yahshua, that we may be justified by faith in Messiah, and not by works of law; since by works of law no flesh be justified.”

We encounter the same translation mistake in verse 19 which states, “For through the Law I died to the Law, that I might live to Yahweh.” Here again, in the Greek, there are no definite articles before the words translated “law”, Knowing this permits us to translate this verse: “For, I through law, died to law, in order that to Yahweh I might live.” The point here is that Paul was not saying that he died to the Torah, but merely to “law”. We can paraphrase what he was saying in this way: “It was through legalistic obedience to a set of laws that I realized that I was a sinner. For, I found that it is only through a personal relationship with Him that Yahweh grants a new life. My attempt at legalism backfired! Instead of making me closer to Yahweh, it only served to emphasize my sinfulness. Therefore, in Messiah, Yahweh caused me to die to law that I might live for Him.”

The Torah then, was not in question. Our constant need in the flesh to feel good about ourselves by believing that we have earned righteousness is what is in question! Any time that the Torah of Yahweh is reduced to a system of works, what we have is no longer Torah but a man made system of works-law. Man will always try to reduce Yahweh’s words to laws to be obeyed instead of the Words of Life-what they truly are. We who are in Messiah have died to exactly this abuse of the Word of Yahweh. Now we embrace the Renewed Covenant in our relationship with Yahweh as that which is our very life, our new creation life!

Galatians 3:2
This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
There are some who use this verse to contrast life in the Spirit against a life of Torah. Their argument is that we did not receive the Spirit of Yahweh by following the Torah.

Our suggestion is that the Torah is not even in this verse. Once again, we encounter the phrase ”works of the law”. In the Greek it is the same grammatical construction that was in 2:16. Therefore, it should not read “works of the law”, as it is the Torah that is being referred to, but “works of law”. Hence, this verse is saying that it was not through legalism that we received the Spirit of Yahweh. We could not earn Yahweh’s Spirit. Rather Yahweh gave us His Spirit by faith, at the moment of salvation. Thus, this verse is against legalism, not against Torah.

Galatians 3:21-25
21 Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? May it never be! For if a law had been given which was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law. 22 But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. 24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Here is a case where the word nomos is probably being used to refer to the Torah. In the Greek, it has a definite article before it, “the Law” (the Torah). This series of verses concludes a passage where Paul is comparing the covenant with Abraham with the covenant of Sinai. His conclusion is that the Torah was not given to impart life. That was the purpose of the covenant with Abraham. We receive life by faith. He continues to argue that there are only two things the Torah can do for those who attempt to receive spiritual life from Yahweh by obeying the Torah. First, the Torah can point out their sinfulness (Verse 22) and second, the Torah can, then point them to the one who removes sin-The Messiah (verses 23-25).

Verses 23-24 represent only one of the many purposes for the Torah. In fact, the Torah has specific functions for both the righteous (the Saved) and the unrighteous (the unsaved). As far as the righteous are concerned, 2 Timothy 3:16 states, “All scriptures is inspired by Yahweh and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of Yahweh may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” Of course, “all scripture” would most certainly have included the Torah.

As far as the unrighteous are concerned, our passage in Galatians indicates what the Torah can accomplish for them. It can serve to point out their sinfulness and point them to Messiah. In this capacity, we should note that 3:25 says, “But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.” The tutor” is, in context, the Torah. When a person comes to Messiah and receives Him by faith, that particular function of the Torah has ceased (i.e., there is no longer a need for the Torah to serve as a tutor to lead the person to the Messiah). At that point, the Torah begins to function in a totally different capacity-the capacity for which it was originally designed; it describes the lifestyle of the redeemed.

[The Greek word translated “tutor” is actually “pedagogue”. Paul was drawing upon a very familiar illustration Greco-Roman world of which he was a part. Well-to-do families often hired someone to serve as a protector for their children when they sent them to their teachers. The protector was not the teacher, but merely someone who made sure that a child would safely reach his or her teacher. Paul uses this kind of language in Galatians 3:22 to illustrate how the Torah functioned as a protector.

How does Yahweh preserve such people? One way He has chosen to do so, though certainly not the only way, is through the Torah. According to Galatians 3:22, the Torah can function as a pedagogue, as the Greek word for “tutor” should be translated (verse 24). The pedagogue’s duty was “to conduct the youth to and from school and to superintend his conduct…he was not a ‘teacher’” Hence he was something of a body guard to help ensure the students safety on the way to the teacher.

In verse 23, Paul explains this protective concept with a slightly different image. There he uses a word which has usually been translated as “kept in custody.” However, by rendering the Greek verb sunkleiomenoi in such a manner, translators have unwittingly cast a negative shadow on the Torah, depicting it as something that holds people captive, like prisoners. But the word can have a slightly different connotation. It can also be rendered “close up”, “hem in”, or “enclose” in a positive sense. Seen in this light, the verse emphasizes protection rather than imprisonment. Furthermore, this translation also fits well with the concept of the pedagogue.

Thus, the Torah was intended to preserve the mental, moral and social safety of the environment into which an individual was born and raised. The person was protected “until the date set by the Father” (Galatians 4:2) when the Spirit of Yahweh would lead them to the Teacher, the Messiah.
Galatians 3:28

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

This verse has often been cited to show that there is no place in the life of a believer in Yahshua for the Torah or anything pertaining to Israel. It has often been said that, in Messiah, there is no room for Jewishness because we are new people in Messiah.
Dr. Daniel Juster remarks in his book Jewish Roots page 111-112, “Paul is not saying that all distinctions between men and women have been obliterated…It is precisely the same Jew and non-Jew in the Messiah. Both may be called to different styles of life and witness, to different fields of service, yet they are spiritually one in Messiah… Note as well, non-Jews are called (in verse 29) not spiritual Israel, but the offspring of Abraham by faith.”

It is interesting how most believers have applied this verse over the years. Erroneously thinking that this verse teaches that there is to be no more Torah expression (“neither Jew…”), many believers have lived non-Torah oriented lifestyles. In doing so, however, they have not realized that they did not practice the second expression of the verse that says, “there is neither Jew nor Greek.” They did not realize that much of their lifestyle reflected that of gentile non-believers. For example, in their attempt to practice the “neither is there Jew” part, they replaced explicit Torah teachings with manmade traditions propagated by some church leaders decades after the Newer Covenant Scriptures were written. In this process, they have failed to realize that such practices would then, also violate the second phrase, “neither is there Greek (gentile)”. In so doing, they have espoused a decidedly culturally non-Jewish life style (and have pressured Jewish believers to do the same.)

This verse actually speaks nothing about Torah observance or non-observance. Rather, it merely emphasizes the spiritual equality of Jewish believers with believers from among the gentiles.
Galatians 4:21-31

Tell me, you who want to be under law, do you not listen to the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the bondwoman and one by the free woman. 23 But the son by the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise. 24 This is allegorically speaking, for these women are two covenants: one proceeding from Mount Sinai bearing children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar. 25 Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother. 27 For it is written, “REJOICE , BARREN WOMAN WHO DOES NOT BEAR; BREAK FORTH AND SHOUT, YOU WHO ARE NOT IN LABOR; FOR MORE NUMEROUS ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE DESOLATE THAN OF THE ONE WHO HAS A HUSBAND.” 28 And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also. 30 But what does the Scripture say? “CAST OUT THE BONDWOMAN AND HER SON, FOR THE SON OF THE BONDWOMAN SHALL NOT BE AN HEIR WITH THE SON OF THE FREE WOMAN.” 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of a bondwoman, but of the free woman.
This passage is a midrash developed by Paul in order to illustrate the difference between those who trust Messiah for their righteousness and those who are relying on a legalistic observance of the Torah or any set of laws for their salvation.
In our opinion, the key to understanding this midrash is to remember the context in which it is found. The immediate context begins in chapter three where Paul begins to compare the two covenants-the covenant with Abraham and the covenant of Sinai. In this midrash, Paul relates what happens when people reverse the proper theological order of the covenants. In other words, theologically, as well as historically, Yahweh made the Abrahamic covenant before He enacted the covenant of Sinai. It had to be that way because in the Abrahamic covenant, the promises of Yahweh were to be received by faith, while the second covenant was basically one in which those promises would only be fully enjoyed with fruitfulness through obedience.
Abraham’s relationship to Hagar and the subsequent fruit of that bond (Ishmael) is compared to those who put the covenant of Sinai first before the covenant of promise (Abrahamic). Through Hagar, Abraham was attempting to secure the promises through his own efforts instead of relying on Yahweh’s word and trusting in Yahweh’s promises concerning Sarah. Thus, it is with those who try to earn their righteousness from Yahweh by obeying the Torah. Faith always must precede obedience. In addition, saving faith always results in obedience.

Galatians 5:1-6
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. 2 Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you. 3 And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law. 4 You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5 For we, through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.

This will be the final text from Galatians that we will study. It appears to be a devastating blow to our whole argument, stating that if anyone practices circumcision (or any part of the Torah, for that matter,) he will be severed from Messiah.

The key to the proper interpretation of this passage is the following italicized phrase in 5:4 where Paul states, “You have been severed from Messiah, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.” This phrase indicates the motive behind the circumcisions being performed among the Galatians, which were the focus of Paul’s criticisms. It tells us that some people were being circumcised in order to be justified by Yahweh. In other words, legalism was the problem, not circumcision.
We need to remember that Paul of Tarsus lived according to the Torah (Acts 21). He would never have taught against the Torah. Since circumcision was one of the many teachings of the Torah, we can safely conclude, therefore, that Paul was not arguing against circumcision per se. In fact, we recall that he had Timothy circumcised (Act 16:3).

Paul’s problem with circumcision in Galatians was that some were doing it in order to earn or keep their salvation; they were seeking to be justified by it. Herein was the core of the problem He had no problems with practicing circumcision provided it was done with the proper biblical motive (i.e., as the sign of the covenant between Yahweh and Israel).

Verse 4 presents the stark contrast between law and grace. One either attempts to earn or keep his salvation by what he does or he relies solely on the grace of Yahweh for salvation. The two concepts, law and grace, do not and never can mix. Paul said that whenever a person begins to trust in what he does to gain (or keep) his salvation, he has ceased practicing the principle of grace and has gone over to law. In fact, some people even attempt to make a law out of Torah (by practicing circumcision, in this context). The plain truth is that whenever someone relies on his works to gain righteousness from Yahweh, he has ceased to function according to grace. No one can be saved in this manner. Salvation is solely by grace through faith in the person and work of Yahshua.

Brethren we have looked at some very hard to understand scriptures and I hope you are able to grasp what is being taught here by Paul. Some of you have told me that the things I teach here at www.sightedmoon.com are way over your head. That I am teaching at a university level and you are just learning at a grade school level. It is the same thing as Paul. Please read these texts carefully and prayerfully.

To help you a little, consider this. You’re going to a new Church or Synagogue. You’re late and trying to find a shortcut. Traffic is backed up and you see a street that goes right to the side of the place you’re looking for. You take it, and once you’re on the road you see it is a one-way road and you’re going the wrong way. You safely make it to the parking lot of the church or Synagogue and a Police car pulls in right behind you.

You try to justify yourself because you are going to worship at this building. But the officer still takes your license and insurance and goes back to his car. You have driven the wrong way on a one-way street. It is going to cost you $350 dollars in fines. Money you don’t have and can’t afford.

The police officer comes back and gives you a warning (go and sin no more) and asks you to be more careful next time. But this time he is not going to charge you and bids you a good day. You have now received grace. You did nothing to deserve it. You did earn the penalty for breaking the law. But you were pardoned and not charged. This is grace.

The law that says the street is a one-way street does not change. It is still a law. You are still not allowed to go the wrong way on it. If you do, people could die. Just because you have been given grace this time for breaking a law does not absolve you from obeying it from here on out. The laws still must be kept. Does this law get you into the kingdom? No. Nor are you a legalist by keeping this law.
We do not keep the laws of Yehovah to be saved. We keep the laws of Yehovah because we are saved. The laws of Torah like the laws of society are there for the good of all. We can keep these laws and not believe. It is Yehovah who has called you. By Faith you are answering that call.
I want to close this study with Jude 4

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

This word Lasciviousness;

is a compound of (as a negative particle) and a presumed selges (of uncertain derivation, but apparently meaning continent); licentiousness (sometimes including other vices) — filthy, lasciviousness, wantonness.
1. unbridled lust, excess, licentiousness, lasciviousness, wantonness, outrageous, shamelessness, insolence
King James Word Usage – Total: 9
lasciviousness 6, wantonness 2, filthy 1

In Galatians 5:19 we read

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

You become unclean when you sin. You sin when you cave into your lusts and do not restrain them. So, people can do whatever they want, believing that the sins they repeatedly commit are forgiven by grace because the laws are done away. But sin is still sin.
Consider the warnings of Jude, each one of you, who are turning the grace of Yehshua into a license to continue to sin and to satisfy your own lust of the flesh.

Heb 10:26-31 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Once you have come to understand that the Torah was there to guide you, how we are to live. Once you learn the Laws, the Covenant of Mount Sinai, the laws which were there to teach us how to live, to then throw them aside and to say you are saved by grace and have no need for the law, what sacrifice is left for you?
As we shared with you in our study on Colossians 2:16, Yehshua paid the debt that you were under for not keeping the law. The law tells you the price for not keeping it and the blessings for keeping it. Yehshua paid that price, that debt, which was your life, your soul, that you owed.
Now you are to carry on with your life having had that debt removed. It does not give you free reign to keep on sinning.

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

Jude is telling you that there are some who are saying the law is done away and will lead you away from the truth. He is warning you that they are taking what Yehshua did on the tree for you and turning it into evil by telling you not to obey the law. Yehshua paid the penalty because you broke that law. Now that it is paid for go and enjoy your life and do not sin, do not break that law anymore.
The men Jude is warning you about the same ones Yehovah is speaking to on the judgment day in Mat 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Mat 25:1-12 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

You read the comments after our Articles from those who do not keep the law and are trying to justify it through grace. They are misled and will be told I do not know you. Yehovah is going to say that because it is by keeping the law that we come to know Yehovah. It is by keeping the law that we come to know him.

1 John 2:3 By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments.
1 John 2:5 But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him:
1 John 5:1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

40 Days of Repentance & Selichot

Shalom Brethren,
On Sunday August 12th of 2018 we now begin the 6th month which Judah calls the month of Elul and the start of the traditional 40 days of repentance.
The 6th month of Elul is a time of repentance in preparation for the High Holidays of Yom Teruah The Feast of Trumets and Yom Kippur The Day of Atonement. Tradition teaches that the month of Elul is a particularly propitious time for repentance. Elul is seen as a time to search one’s heart and draw close to God in preparation for the coming Day of Judgment. This mood of repentance builds through the month of Elul to the period of Selichot, to Yom Teruah, and finally to Yom Kippur.

The name of the month (spelled lwla Alef-Lamed-Vay-Lamed) is said to be an acronym of “Ani l’dodi v’dodi li,” “I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine,” a quote from Song of Songs 6:3, where the Beloved is Yehovah and the “I” is all twelve Tribes of Israel. In Aramaic (the vernacular of the Jewish people at the time that the month names were adopted), the word “Elul” means “search,” which is appropriate, because this is a time of year when we search our hearts.

According to tradition, the month of Elul is the time that Moses spent on Mount Sinai preparing the second set of tablets after the incident of the golden calf (Ex. 32; 34:27-28). He ascended on Rosh Chodesh Elul and descended on the 10th of Tishri, at the end of Yom Kippur, when repentance was complete. Other sources say that Elul is the beginning of a period of 40 days that Moses prayed for G-d to forgive the people after the Golden Calf incident, after which the commandment to prepare the second set of tablets was given.

Customs of Elul

During the month of Elul, from the second day of Elul to the 28th day, the shofar is blown after morning services every weekday. The shofar is not blown on Shabbat. It is also not blown on the day before Yom Teruah to make a clear distinction between the rabbinical rule of blowing the shofar in Elul and the biblical mitzvah to blow the shofar on Yom Teruah.

Four blasts are blown: tekiah, shevarim-teruah, tekiah. You can listen to this combination of blasts at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkThNw210is. Rambam explained the custom of blowing shofar as a wake-up call to sleepers, designed to rouse us from our complacency. It is a call to repentance. The blast of the shofar is a very piercing sound when done properly.

Elul is also a time to begin the process of asking forgiveness for wrongs done to other people and the time to forgive those seeking it from you. According to Jewish tradition, Yehovah cannot forgive us for sins committed against another person until we have first obtained forgiveness from the person we have wronged. This is not as easy a task as you might think if you have never done it. This process of seeking forgiveness continues through the Days of Awe.

The Days of Awe are the Ten days from Yom Teruah to Yom Kippur, a time for deep introspection and considering the sins of the previous year.

Many people visit cemeteries at this time because the awe-inspiring nature of this time makes us think about life and death and our own mortality. Again these are the traditions that Judah has developed during this time.
It is also customary to recite Psalm 27 each day from the New Moon of the 6th month until Sukkot in the 7th Month.

Psa 27:1 A Psalm of David. Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, my enemies and my foes, came on me to eat my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army should camp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this I am trusting. 4 One thing I have desired from Jehovah, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to pray in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His shelter, in the secrecy of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me up on a rock. 6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies, my encirclers; and I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle. I will sing; yea, I will sing praises to Jehovah. 7 Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice; and have mercy on me, and answer me. 8 My heart says to You, Seek my face; Your face, O Jehovah, I will seek; 9 Hide not Your face from me. Turn not Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. 10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then Jehovah will take me up. 11 Teach me Your way, O Jehovah, and lead me in a plain path, because of my enemies. 12 Deliver me not over to the will of my enemies; for false witnesses have risen up against me, and he that breathes out cruelty. 13 I would have fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living. 14 Hope in Jehovah; be of good courage, and He shall make your heart strong; yea, hope in Jehovah.

Selichot

As the month of Elul draws to a close, the mood of repentance becomes more urgent. Prayers for forgiveness called selichot (properly pronounced “s’lee-KHOHT,” but often pronounced “SLI-khus”) are added to the daily cycle of religious services. Selichot are recited in the early morning, before normal daily shacharit service. They add about 45 minutes to the regular daily service.

Selichot are recited from the Sunday before Yom Teruah unitl Yom. If Rosh Hashanah begins on a Monday or Tuesday, selichot begins on the Sunday of the week before Rosh Hashanah, to make sure that there are at least 3 days of Selichot. The first selichot service of the holiday season is usually a large community service, held around midnight on Motzaei Shabbat (the night after the sabbath ends; that is, after nightfall on Saturday) . The entire community, including men, women and older children, attend the service, and the rabbi gives a sermon. The remaining selichot services are normally only attended by those who ordinarily attend daily shacharit services in synagogue.

A fundamental part of the selichot service is the repeated recitation of the “Thirteen Attributes,” a list of Yehovah’s thirteen attributes of mercy that were revealed to Moses after the sin of the golden calf (Ex 34:6-7):

Exo 34:6 And Yehovah passed by before him and proclaimed, Yehovah! Yehovah God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the sons, and on the sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

Yehovah Yehovah El Rachum Vechanun Erek Apieyim Verav Chesed Veemet
Yehovah [1], Yehovah [2], God [3], merciful [4], and gracious [5], long-suffering [6], abundant in goodness [7] and truth [8], keeping mercy unto the thousandth generation [9], forgiving iniquity [10] and transgression [11] and sin [12], who cleanses [13].
Why is “Yehovah” listed twice as an attribute? And why are three of these “attributes” Names of God? Different names of God connote different characteristics of God. The four-letter Name of God (rendered here as “YHVH”) is the Name used when God is exhibiting characteristics of mercy, and the Talmud explains that this dual usage indicates that God is merciful before a person sins, but is also merciful after a person sins. The third attribute is a different Name of God that is used when God acts in His capacity as the almighty ruler of nature and the universe.

Consider this if you will. In the year 2033 Satan is to be locked away. The Ten Years before this time is also known as the Days of Awe and they begin in the year 2024. 30 Years before this would bring you to 1994. That is the year I left the Worldwide Church of God and began my own in-depth studies, which have continued up until today.

Soul searching in the Selichot – Ask the Rabbi
Q. What are the origins of the Selichot (penitential prayers) that are recited in the lead up to Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur?
A. There were times when the approach of the day of judgment, proclaimed with the shofar each weekday of Ellul and on Rosh HaShanah, sent shivers through Jewish hearts. Fearful lest they might not repent in time or even, God forbid, add further sins to those that had accumulated during the year, some would even observe a “fast of words” and hardly speak during Ellul.
Into this pattern, the prayers for forgiveness, Selichot, fitted so naturally, that had they not existed it would have been necessary to invent them. SM Lehrman wrote,

“One can still visualise the crowded houses of worship with men, women and children; and in one’s ears there still reverberate the sobs and groans of a prayerful congregation swayed by the heart-felt cry of ‘Do not cast us away when old age creeps in upon us; do not abandon us when our strength is spent’.”

The word Selichot comes from selichah, “forgiveness”. The Psalmist said, ki im’cha haselichah, “for forgiveness is with Thee” (Psalm 130:4). Prayers for forgiveness were solemnly recited on fast-days in time of drought (Mishnah Ta’anit, chap. 2). Eventually they formed part of the service on all public fast days and days of intercession. They reflected the theology that suffering must have been caused by sin, and therefore repentance, confession and prayer for pardon would surely secure God’s favour and avert the evil decree.
The best known Selichot service is associated with the end of Ellul (amongst Sephardim, from Rosh Chodesh) and the beginning of Tishri. It has won its way into Jewish hearts and yet, like a number of the other specially popular occasions in the calendar, does not have a very ancient lineage. Simchat Torah and Tu BiShvat, Yahrzeit and Yizkor and even Bar-Mitzvah are other examples of observances that entered Judaism long after the Biblical period and yet are so well-entrenched that people assume they must surely stem from Sinai.
The Ten Days of Penitence were known from the time of the Talmud. The verse from Isaiah 55:6, “Seek ye the Lord while He may be found”, was applied to this time of the year when, said the Rabbis, God is especially accessible. In post-Talmudic times, the days of penitence were marked by changes and interpolations (such as zochrenu) in the liturgy. It also became customary to rise early on these days to supplicate Divine favour, and there was a long debate amongst the Geonim as to whether and when to fast during the ten days, even on Rosh HaShanah and Shabbat Shuvah.

Eventually the custom settled that instead of fasting on the two days of Rosh HaShanah and Shabbat Shuvah and Erev Yom Kippur, four days of fasting should precede Rosh HaShanah. Today we have abandoned these fasts but retained the prayers that went with them. Hence we commence Selichot four days before Rosh HaShanah. In practical terms this means that Selichot commence on the Sunday before Rosh HaShanah, but if the festival falls on Monday or Tuesday they commence from the Sunday of the previous week.
A further reason suggested for having four days of Selichot is that the Rosh HaShanah liturgy includes the Biblical phrase, “you shall observe a burnt offering”, and like an offering which needs to be scrutinised for defects for four days, so we need four days of self-searching before the day of judgment.

The Sephardi custom of commencing Selichot forty days before Yom Kippur (though some communities had the custom of commencing on 15th Ellul and not on Rosh Chodesh) reminds us that at the beginning of Ellul, after the episode of the Golden Calf, Moses ascended Mount Sinai again, after warning the people to behave properly in his absence, and came down on 10 Tishri with the message salachti, “I have forgiven”.

The Selichot reverberate with references to b’ashmoret haboker, “the beginning of dawn” and indeed much weight attaches to the custom of dawn or pre-dawn Selichot. It is not only that there were objections to uttering supplications at night. Psychologically there is a more subdued mood just before daybreak than is often seen in the more excited, almost theatre-like feeling of midnight Selichot.
This does not mean to say that Selichot at midnight, especially on the first Saturday night, are not permissible, and probably most who come to midnight Selichot would otherwise not attend or recite Selichot at all, but it is not always possible to combine a musical performance with the mood of introspection and penitence.

At first, the Selichot service consisted of Biblical verses and short invocations of God’s mercy. Later the Thirteen Divine Attributes came to be constantly repeated, since the Talmud attached great importance to enunciating and striving to emulate them. Rabbi Yochanan, in a daring piece of imagery, even declared that God put on a tallit like a cantor and demonstrated to Moses how to recite the attributes, assuring him that if Israel had sinned but recited this passage they would secure forgiveness.

With the development of liturgical hymns, Piyyutim, the Selichot were embellished with poetical compositions which were distributed amongst the days when Selichot were said. These fall into four groups, tochachot (admonitions), akedot (reflections on the Binding of Isaac), techinnot (supplications) and bakkashot (petitions). Every day has its pizmon, a composition with a refrain; the name derives from the same Greek root as the word Psalm.

Like most Piyyutim, these tend to be intricate interweavings of phrases and ideas from the Bible, Talmud and Midrash. Their literary structure and ideological ambience are, however, of little interest to the average worshipper. What moves most people is not the intellectual as much as the emotional content of the service. And in terms of the feelings aroused by the time of year, the mood of the moment, the melodies and refrains, and even the fact that Selichot probably creates more genuine piety than any of our other prayers, it must be said that this is truly one of our most successful liturgical experiences.

There is a custom to recite ten chapters of Tehillim each day during the month of Elul after the morning Shaharit service. After talking to Rico Cortes about this amazing subject, he shared with me the psalms to be read each day.
The Psalms of Repentance.
Psalm16,
Psalm 32,
Psalm 41,
Psalm 42,
Psalm 59,
Psalm 77,
Psalm 90,
Psalm 105,
Psalm 137,
Psalm 150.

Brethren I have searched this subject out to bring as much information to you as I could about it.
If you do not totally understand this or agree that is OK. I would like to strongly suggest you all now go to my friend Rico Cortes site and read and as well listen to each of the prayers sung at this time.

While the whole Messianic world argues about how to pronounce the Name, Calendars, One Law or two laws, one house or two house. Our Jewish Brothers are at the proper time praying as One Nation, One People, One Heart, One Voice. It is Sad, that we the people who believe in Yeshua, can not agree on anything but the ones that do not recognize Yeshua as Messiah know how to pray to the Father in Unity. I think that we need to repent and learn how to pray for forgiveness.

Rico Cortes.
Please go and listen to the psalms as they are sung in Hebrew and read the psalms as you repent during this next 40 days leading up to the Day of Atonement.

One last point.
I have been keeping the Feasts since 1982 and this Hebraic way since 2005. Without exception during the time leading up to Sukkot each year have been trials and tribulations that have happened to me and to those I know going to the Feast. We lose our jobs or we have the car break down the day before we are to go. Something unforeseen happens and you have to make that awful choice of do you stay and not go to the Feast or do you say damn the torpedoes and go anyway.

I have been threatened to be fired and people get all heated up about my going. I have left expecting to be divorced when I get back or all my things tossed out of the house. These are the days of trials, which are symbolic of the years before the tribulation when you will be sorely tried.

Sometimes all you can do is throw your hands in the air and let Yehovah know you are sorry for your sins and you are going to keep the Holy Days no matter what.

We who understand the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles know how little time is left. We know that in 2020 the worse disasters we could ever imagine will be upon us. We are told to ENDURE to the end. It means you put up with a great deal that you do not like. Brethren know and understand the meaning of these days and endure until He comes.
With permission from Rico I share with you his teaching on Selichot.

Shalom and Welcome

Welcome to Wisdom in Torah. This little booklet contains the Selichot prayers for our time of Repentance during the month of Elul, starting August, to the day of Yom Kippur. On Wisdom in Torah website I will be doing the opening prayers by only using the psalms. Then I will read from the Selichot Siddur.

For those who do not know, Selichot are prayers for forgiveness and Siddur is a prayer book.
The opening prayers are listed separately so you can pick which ones you want to start with. Then continue with the prayers in the Siddur.

I really pray that we can all put our hearts, minds, and souls into approaching our father who is our king. Remember, the principle is for us to be together praying to the father as one people, one nation, one mind, one heart, one voice and one soul.

Learning the Protocol of the King

The Four Steps of Repentance

Teshuvah (Return or Repentance) is a generous gift from G-d, which allows us to erase our improper actions through a four-step process (see below).
The Torah tells us that no matter how far we stray or how many times we sin, G-d will wait for us to return to him through Teshuvah.
There are four basic parts to Teshuvah:
1. Leaving the Sin
2. Regret
3. Confession Before G-d
4. Acceptance for the Future
1. Leaving the Sin
Leaving the sin consists of stopping the commission of the sinful act. One cannot do Teshuvah if one continues to do the sin, even if he or she were to perform the next three steps perfectly.
2. Regret
Regret consists in sincerely regretting one’s wrong action. One must be genuinely ashamed and embarrassed over one’s sins.
3. Confession Before G-d
Acceptance for the future consists of resolving in one’s heart never to commit the sin ever again.
4. Acceptance for the Future
Confession before G-d consists of an oral confession spoken out loud, in which one formulates in words the commitments and attitudes one has reached in his or her heart. One should say, “I have sinned, I have done such and such; I deeply regret my actions, and I declare before G-d, Who knows my innermost thoughts, that I will never do this sin again.”
What YHVH is really looking for is the sincerity of the effort that a person puts into their Teshuvah!

Introduction to Prayer

Psalm 51:15 O YHVH, open my lips, And that my mouth declare Your praise.

Shema

Devarim 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Devarim 11:13 ‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled.’ Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them, lest the Lord’s anger be aroused against you, and He shut up the heavens so that there be no rain, and the land yield no produce, and you perish quickly from the good land which the Lord is giving you.

“Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.

Numbers 15:37 And YHVH spoke to Mosheh, saying, 38 “Speak to the children of Yisra‘el, and you shall say to them to make tzitziyot1 on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue cord in the tzitzit1 of the corners. Footnote: 1 See Explanatory notes – “Tzitzit” – plural Tzitziyot. 39 “And it shall be to you for a tzitzit, and you shall see it, and shall remember all the commands of YHVH and shall do them, and not search after your own heart and your own eyes after which you went whoring, 40 so that you remember, and shall do all My commands, and be set-apart unto your Elohim.?41 “I am YHVH your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, to be your Elohim. I am YHVH your Elohim.”

Blessing after the Shema

And certain, established and enduring, fair and faithful, beloved and cherished, delightful and pleasant, awesome and powerful, correct and accepted, good and beautiful is this affirmation to us forever and ever.

True – the God of the universe is our King; the Rock of Jacob is the Shield of our salvation. From generation to generation He endures and His Name endures and His throne is well established; His sovereignty and faithfulness endure forever. His words are living and enduring, faithful and delightful forever and to all eternity; for our forefathers and for us, for our children and for our generations, and for all the generations of Your servant Israel’s offspring.

Upon the earlier and upon later generations, this affirmation is good and enduring forever. True and faithful, it is an unbreakable decree. It is true that You are the YHVH, our God and the God of our forefathers, our King and the King of our forefathers, our Redeemer, the Redeemer of our forefathers; our Molder, the Rock of our salvation; our Liberator and our Rescuer – this has ever been Your Name. There is no God but you.

ASHREI – Contentment Awaits (Psalm 145)

Ashrei Psalm 145
Contentment awaits those who dwell in Your house; may they always praise You, Selah. Contentment awaits the people for whom this is so, contentment awaits the people whose God is the LORD.

I will exalt you, my God the King, and I will bless Your Name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You and I will laud Your Name forever and ever. The LORD is great and exceedingly lauded, and His greatness is beyond investigation. Each generation will praise Your deeds to the next and of Your mighty deeds they will tell; The splendorous glory of Your power and Your wondrous deeds I shall discuss. And of Your awesome power they will speak, and Your greatness I shall relate. A recollection of Your abundant goodness they will utter, and of Your righteousness they will sing exultantly.

Gracious and merciful is the LORD, slow to anger, and great in kindness. The LORD is good to all; His mercies are on all His works. All Your works shall thank You, O LORD, and your devout ones will bless You. Of the glory of Your kingdom they will speak, and of Your power they will tell; To inform human beings of His mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of His kingdom. Your kingdom is a kingdom spanning all eternities, and Your dominion is throughout every generation.

The LORD supports all those who are fallen and straightens all those who are bent. The eyes of all look to You with hope, and You give them their food in its proper time; You open Your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing. Righteous is the LORD in all His ways, and magnanimous in all His deeds. The LORD is close to all who call upon Him— to all who call upon Him sincerely. The will of those who fear Him He will do, and their cry He will hear and save them. The LORD protects all who love Him; but all the wicked He will destroy.

Psalms of Selichot

Psalm 27:1 YHVH is my light and my deliverance; Whom should I fear? YHVH is the refuge of my life; Whom should I dread? 2 When evil-doers come against me To eat up my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, They shall stumble and fall. 3 Though an army encamps against me, My heart does not fear; Though battle comes up against me, Even then I would be trusting. 4 One matter I asked of YHVH – this I seek: To dwell in the House of YHVH All the days of my life, To see the pleasantness of YHVH, And to inquire in His H?kal. 5 For in the day of evil He hides me in His booth; In the covering of His Tent He hides me; On a rock He raises me up. 6 And now my head is lifted up above my enemies all around me; And I offer in His Tent with shouts of joy; I sing, yea, I sing praises to YHVH. 7 Hear, O YHVH, when I cry with my voice! And show me favour, and answer me. 8 To my heart You have said, “Seek My face.” Your face, YHVH, I seek. 9 Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in displeasure; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O Elohim of my deliverance. 10 When my father and my mother have forsaken me, Then YHVH does take me in. 11 Teach me Your way, O YHVH, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. 12 Do not give me over To the desire of my adversaries; For false witnesses have risen against me, And they 13 What if I had not believed To see the goodness of YHVH In the land of the living! 14 Wait on YHVH, be strong, And let Him strengthen your heart! Wait, I say, on YHVH!
Psalm 130: 1 A Song of degrees. Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Jehovah. 2 Lord, hear my voice, and let Your ears listen to the voice of My prayers. 3 If You will keep in mind iniquities, O Jehovah, who shall stand, O Lord? 4 But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. 5 I wait for Jehovah, my soul waits, and in His Word I hope. 6 My soul waits for Jehovah more than morning-watchers who are watching for the morning. 7 Let Israel hope in Jehovah; for with Jehovah there is mercy, and with Him is plentiful redemption. 8 And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.Psa 17:1 A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O Jehovah; listen to my cry; Give ear to my prayer, for it is not in lips of deceit. 2 Let my judgment go out from Your presence; let Your eyes behold uprightly. 3 You have proved my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me, and You will find nothing; my thoughts do not pass beyond my mouth. 4 Concerning the works of men, by the Words of Your lips, I am kept from the paths of the destroyer. 5 My steps have been held in Your paths, so that my footsteps have not slipped. 6 I have called on You, for You will hear me, O God; bow down Your ear to me; hear my speech. 7 Set out Your wonderful loving-kindness, O Savior of those seeking refuge in You, by Your right hand, from those who rise up against me. 8 Keep me as the pupil, the daughter of the eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings, 9 from the face of the wicked who strip me. Those against my soul, My foes, encircle me. 10 They are enclosed in their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly, 11 they have now hemmed in our steps, they have set their eyes to bow me to the earth, 12 their likeness is like a lion that longs to tear, and like a young lion lurking in secret places. 13 Arise, O Jehovah, disappoint him, bow him down; deliver my soul from the wicked by Your sword, 14 from men by Your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life, and whose belly You fill with Your treasure. They are satisfied with sons, and will leave their riches to their babes. 15 As for me, I will behold Your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with Your image.
Psa 32:1 A Psalm of David. A Contemplation. Blessed is the man whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man to whom Jehovah does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. 3 When I kept silence, my bones became old through my roaring all the day long. 4 For by day and by night Your hand was heavy on me; my sap is turned into the droughts of summer. Selah. 5 I confessed my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, I will confess my transgression to Jehovah; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. 6 For this let every godly one pray to You, in a time when You may be found; surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near him. 7 You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall circle me with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you, My eye shall be on you. 9 Be not like the horse, or like the mule, who have no understanding, whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, so that they do not come near you. 10 The wicked has many sorrows, but mercy embraces him who trusts in Jehovah. 11 Be glad in Jehovah, and rejoice, you righteous; and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.
Psa 51:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your loving-kindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me completely from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I confess my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done evil in Your sight; that You might be justified when You speak, and be clear when You judge. 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts; and in the hidden part You shall make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which You have broken may rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from Your presence, and take not Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways; and sinners shall be converted to You. 14 Deliver me from the guilt of shedding blood, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. 15 O Jehovah, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. 16 For You do not desire sacrifice; or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. 18 Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; build the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then shall You be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then they shall offer bulls on Your altar.
Psa 65:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm and Song of David. To You silence is praise, O God, in Zion; and to You is a vow paid. 2 To You who hears prayer, all flesh comes. 3 Things of iniquity are mightier than I; as for our transgressions, You shall purge them away. 4 Blessed is the one whom You choose, and cause to come near You. He shall dwell in Your courts; we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple. 5 By awesome things in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation; who are the hope of all the ends of the earth and the sea, of those far away. 6 The mountains are established by Your strength, banded together with might, 7 who stills the noise of the sea, the roar of their waves, and the uproar of the peoples. 8 And the inhabitants of the furthermost places are afraid of Your signs; You make the beginning of the morning and the evening rejoice. 9 You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; You provide their grain, for in this way You have prepared it. 10 You fill its terraces with water; You deepen its furrows; You make it soft with showers; You bless the sprouting of it. 11 You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drop fatness. 12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness; and the little hills gird themselves with joy. 13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with grain; they shout for joy and sing.
Psa 85:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm for the sons of Korah. O Jehovah, You have been gracious to Your land; You have brought back the captivity of Jacob. 2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sins. Selah. 3 You have taken away all Your wrath; You have turned from the heat of Your anger. 4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your anger toward us to cease. 5 Will You be angry with us forever? Will You draw out Your anger to all generations? 6 Will You not give us life again, so that Your people may rejoice in You? 7 Show us Your mercy, O Jehovah, and grant us Your salvation. 8 I will hear what God Jehovah will speak; for He will speak peace to His people, and to His saints; but let them not turn again to folly. 9 Surely His salvation is near those that fear Him, so that glory may dwell in our land. 10 Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from Heaven. 12 Yea, Jehovah shall give good; and our land shall yield its increase. 13 Righteousness shall go before Him and shall set us in the way of His steps.
Psa 102:1 A prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed and pours out his complaint before Jehovah. Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and let my cry come to You. 2 Hide not Your face from me in the day when I am in trouble; bow down Your ear to me; in the day I call, answer me quickly. 3 For my days go up like smoke, and my bones glow like a firebrand. 4 My heart is stricken, and dried like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread. 5 Because of the voice of my groaning, my bones hold fast to my skin. 6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl of the desert. 7 I watch, and am as a sparrow alone on the house top. 8 My enemies curse me all the day; and they who are mad against me are sworn against me. 9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and have mixed my drink with weeping, 10 because of Your anger and Your wrath; for You have lifted me up and cast me down. 11 My days are like a shadow stretched out; and I wither like grass. 12 But You, O Jehovah, shall endure forever; and Your memory to all generations. 13 You shall arise, and have mercy on Zion; for the time to pity her, yea, the set time, has come. 14 For Your servants take pleasure in its stones, and pity its dust. 15 So the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. 16 When Jehovah shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory. 17 He will turn to the prayer of the forsaken and not despise their prayer. 18 This shall be written for the generation to come; and the people who shall be created shall praise Jehovah. 19 For He has looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from Heaven Jehovah beheld the earth; 20 to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free the sons of death; 21 to declare the name of Jehovah in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem; 22 when the peoples and the kingdoms have gathered together to serve Jehovah. 23 He weakened my strength in the way; He shortened my days. 24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days; Your years are through the generation of generations. 25 Of old You have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of Your hands. 26 They shall perish, but You shall endure; yea, all of them shall become old like a garment; like a robe You shall change them, and they shall be changed; 27 but You are He, and Your years shall have no end. 28 The sons of Your servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before You.
Psa 103:1 A Psalm of David. Bless Jehovah, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name. 2 Bless Jehovah, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; 3 who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; 4 who redeems your life from ruin; who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies; 5 who satisfies your mouth with good; your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 6 Jehovah works righteousness and judgment for all who are pressed down. 7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel. 8 Jehovah is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and rich in mercy. 9 He will not always chasten, nor will He keep His anger forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so is His mercy toward those who fear Him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father pities his children, Jehovah pities those who fear Him. 14 For He knows our form; He remembers that we are dust. 15 As for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone; and its place shall know it no more. 17 But the mercy of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness is to sons of sons; 18 to those who keep His covenant, and to those who remember to do His Commandments. 19 Jehovah has prepared His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom rules over all. 20 Bless Jehovah, O angels of His, who excel in strength, who do His command, listening to the voice of His Word. 21 Bless Jehovah, all His hosts, ministers of His who do His pleasure. 22 Bless Jehovah, all His works in all places of His rule; bless Jehovah, O my soul.
Psa 104:1 Bless Jehovah, O my soul. O Jehovah my God, You are very great; You have put on honor and majesty, 2 covering Yourself with light as with a robe; and stretching out the heavens like a curtain; 3 He lays the beams of His upper rooms in the waters. He sets the clouds as His chariots; He walks on the wings of the wind; 4 He makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flaming fire. 5 He laid the earth on its foundations; it shall not be shaken forever. 6 You covered the deep as with a robe; the waters stand above the mountains. 7 At Your rebuke they flee; at the voice of Your thunder they hurry away. 8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys to the place which You have founded for them. 9 You have set a bound that they may not pass over, so that they do not turn again to cover the earth. 10 He sends the springs into the valleys; they flow between the hills. 11 They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses break their thirst. 12 By them the birds of the heavens will have their place of rest; they sing among the branches. 13 He waters the hills from His upper rooms; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works. 14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for the service of man, to bring forth food out of the earth, 15 and wine cheers the heart of man, and oil makes his face shine, and bread sustains the heart of man. 16 The trees of Jehovah are full, the cedars of Lebanon which He has planted; 17 where the birds make their nests; the fir trees are the house of the stork. 18 The high hills are for the wild goats, and the rocks are a refuge for the badgers. 19 He appointed the moon for seasons; the sun knows its going down. 20 You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the beasts of the forest creep forth. 21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God. 22 The sun rises; they are gathered, and go to their dens to lie down. 23 Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening. 24 O Jehovah, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your riches. 25 This is the great and wide sea, in which are creeping things without number, both small and great animals. 26 There the ships go; You made this great sea animal to play in it. 27 These all wait on You, that You may give them their food in due season. 28 You give to them, they gather; You open Your hand; they are filled with good. 29 You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. 30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth. 31 The glory of Jehovah shall endure forever; Jehovah shall rejoice in His works. 32 He looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the hills, and they smoke. 33 I will sing to Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. 34 My thoughts of Him shall be sweet; I will be glad in Jehovah. 35 Let the sinners perish from the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Praise Jehovah!

The Orot Sephardic Selichot
El Melech / GOD KING

El, King, who sits in judgment on a throne of mercy and acts with kindness, Who forgives the iniquities of His people, removes sins one by one, abundantly grants forgiveness to transgressors and pardon to sinners, Who performs righteous deeds with all those of flesh and spirit:
not according to their wickedness does He exact retribution. EL, you taught us to recite the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy, therefore, recall for us today the covenant of the Thirteen Attributes, as you made known to the humble one in ancient times. Such is it written in Your Torah: “YHVH descended in the cloud and stood there with him, and called out with the Name: YHVH and there it was stated:YHVH passed by before him and called out:
YHVH, YHVH 1. Elohim 2. Compassionate One 3. Gracious One, 4. Who is slow 5. to anger 6. and abounding in kindness 7. and Truth 8. He keeps kindness 9. for thousands of generations, 10. bears iniquity 11. sin 12. and transgression, 13 and absolves those who repent.
May you forgive our iniquity and our transgression, and take us as your inheritance. and YHVH said to Moshe: I will cause My entire Goodness to pass before you. and I will call in the Name of YHVH before you, I will show grace to whomever I will be gracious, and I will show compassion to whomever I will show compassion.

Ata Ha Melech / You are King

Hear Heavens turn your attention; turn your ear to me. Now, falling to my face, I am returning from my sin and embezzlement, O My Eli (YHVH) you are my King. I will bow my head and go down on my knees the one who makes life good, show me the way So I won‘t be like a wanderer, when the days passed, when the strange dark days has passed by. PLEASE, show mercy O King, King, King of Kings

Nehemiah 1:5 and I said, “I pray, YHVH Elohim of the heavens, O great and awesome ?l, guarding the covenant and kindness with those who love You, and with those guarding Your commands, 6 please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, to hear the prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, for the children of Yisra‘?l Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Yisra‘?l which we have sinned against You. Both my father‘s house and I have sinned. 7 “We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not guarded the commands, nor the laws, nor the right-rulings which You commanded Your servant Mosheh. 8 “Please remember the word that You commanded Your servant Mosheh, saying, “If you trespass, I shall scatter you among the peoples, 9 but if you shall turn back to Me, and guard My commands and do them, though you were cast out to the end of the heavens, I shall gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen, to make My Name dwell there.”10 “And they are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand. 11 “O YHVH, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who delight to fear Your Name. And let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him compassion in the presence of this man.” For I was cupbearer to the sovereign.

Viduy (Confession)

Daniel 9:3 So I set my face toward YHVH the Elohim to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.4 And I prayed to YHVH my Elohim, and made confession, and said, “O YHVH, great and awesome ?l, guarding the covenant and the kindness to those who love Him, and to those who guard His commands.5 “We have sinned and did crookedness, and did wrong and rebelled, to turn aside from Your commands and from Your right-rulings.6 “And we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your Name to our sovereigns, our heads, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.7 “O YHVH, to You is the righteousness, and to us the shame of face, as it is this day – to the men of Yehudah, to the inhabitants of Yerushalayim and all Yisra‘?l, those near and those far off in all the lands to which You have driven them, because of their trespass which they have trespassed against You.8 “O Master, to us is the shame of face, to our sovereigns, to our heads, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against You.9 “To YHVH our Elohim are the compassions and forgivenesses, for we have rebelled against Him.10 “And we have not obeyed the voice of YHVH our Elohim, to walk in His Torah, which He set before us through His servants the prophets.11 “And all Yisra‘?l have transgressed Your Torah, and turned aside, so as not to obey Your voice. So the curse and the oath written in the Torah of Mosheh the servant of Elohim have been poured out on us, for we have sinned against Him.12 “And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our rulers who judged us, by bringing upon us great evil. For under all the heavens there has not been done like what was done to Yerushalayim.13 “As it is written in the Torah of Mosheh, all this evil has come upon us, and we have not entreated the face of YHVH our Elohim, to turn back from our crookednesses, and to study Your truth.14 “Hence YHVH has watched over the evil and has brought it upon us. For YHVH our Elohim is righteous in all the works which He has done, but we have not obeyed His voice.15 “And now, O YHVH our Elohim, who brought Your people out of the land of Mitsrayim with a strong hand, and made Yourself a Name, as it is this day – we have sinned, we have done wrong!16 “O YHVH, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your displeasure and Your wrath be turned away from Your city Yerushalayim, Your set-apart mountain. For, because of our sins, and because of the crookednesses of our fathers, Yerushalayim and Your people have become a reproach to all those around us.17 “And now, our Elohim, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and for the sake of YHVH cause Your face to shine on Your set-apart place, which is laid waste.18 “O my Elohim, incline Your ear and hear. Open Your eyes and see our wastes, and the city which is called by Your Name. For we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great compassions.19 “O YHVH, hear! O YHVH, forgive! O YHVH, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my Elohim, for Your city and Your people are called by Your Name.”

Yah, Shema / Yah Hear

O Yah, hearken to your poor who plead before you, Our Father, to your children do not close your ear.
O Yah, a nation from the depths called from an abundance of troubles: please do not turn them away empty-handed today from before you.
Their treachery and their iniquity erase, along with their abundant blatant sins, and if you will not act for their sake, act, my Rock, for your sake.
Erase their offense today and favor their speech like a gift: guide their heart to You, and let Your ear be attentive.
Turn to the tears on their faces and gather the straying flock: appoint for Yourself a shepherd, and tent in a goodly fashion to your sheep.
Those who walk on a straight path herald to them forgiveness today: and with the morning prayer, grant then Your grace.

Psa 25:1 A Psalm of David. To You, O Jehovah, I lift up my soul. 2 O my God, I trust in You; do not let me be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me. 3 Yea, let none who wait on You be ashamed; let them be ashamed who sin without cause. 4 Make me know Your ways, O Jehovah; teach me Your paths. 5 Lead me in Your truth, and teach me; for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day long. 6 Remember, O Jehovah, Your tender mercies and Your loving-kindnesses; for they are from eternity. 7 Do not remember the sins of my youth, or my rebellings; according to Your mercy remember me for Your goodness’ sake, O Jehovah. 8 Good and upright is Jehovah; therefore He will teach sinners in the way. 9 The meek He will guide in judgment; and the meek He will teach His way. 10 All the paths of Jehovah are mercy and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies. 11 For Your name’s sake, O Jehovah, pardon my iniquity; for it is great. 12 What man is he who fears Jehovah? He shall teach him in the way that he shall choose. 13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. 14 The secret of Jehovah is with those who fear Him; and He will show them His covenant. 15 My eyes are ever toward Jehovah; for He shall pluck my feet out of the net. 16 Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am wasted and afflicted. 17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. 18 Look on my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins. 19 Look on my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. 20 Keep my soul, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You. 21 Let purity and uprightness keep me; for I wait on You. 22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

Elecha YHVH

Toward You, Adonai, I have raised up my eyes; hear the sound of my pleas as befits Your great kindness. I have trusted in your Name and have spread out my palms; I have taken words and have come unto You. My sorrows have been overpowering and my groans have increased, for all of my sins have set before you. My delicate soul dissipates from grief; release from anxiety the soul of your servant. Remove my sin, O Elohim of my salvation; also my tears may you place in Your flask.
In times of anger, Your mercy may you recall and reconsider, and gladden and console the soul of your servant. Recall my poverty and my sadness, my bitterness from my earliest existence; until when, against me will You renew your witnesses?
My oppressors have humiliated me as have my enemies and my adversaries; please hear my statements when I approach in fear of you. The haughty people have set for me snares and traps, in them are trapped the legs of Your loved ones. They set traps for me and they testify falsely against me; strangers have engulfed me, O Rock-other than You. O Rock, reveal Your glory to a people who are led and helped and Your hidden good grant to your remnants.
Those oppressed under much pressure do not distance yourself from them; recall Abraham, Isaac and Yisrael, Your servants. O compassionate One, be a support to a people sated with bitter herbs; and act, please, for the sake of our forefathers. Shaddai, You have been powerful in all that you have done, for your are righteous and righteousness is your cloak. May You forgive my sin, for my hope is in You, my King; and set straight my path, my Elohim, to serve you. May you turn to my prayer and to my expression of song, for You are my hope and who will not testify about You? Toward you, Adonai, I have raised up my eyes; hear the sound of my please as befits Your great kindness.
Out Father, the merciful Father, save us for the sake of Your Name. Our Elohim, Elohim of our forefathers, save us for the sake of Your Name. When we are in distress we call on You; save us for the sake of your Name. Bestow upon us Your stirring Mercies, and save us for the sake of your Name. We have sought You, so make Yourself available to us; Respond to us today, and each and every day, in our prayer; and save us for the sake of Your name. Do not embarrass us from our hope; and save us for the sake of your name. Remember, us favorably before you; and save us for sake of Your name. Purify us from the defilement of our iniquities; and save us for the sake of Your Name.
Our Father our King, You are our Father; Our Father, our King, we have none but You; our Father, our King, have mercy on us. If we have done good deeds, You are our Father, and if we have evil deeds, we have none but You, Our Father, our King, have mercy on us. If our sins are many, You are our Father, you are the Rock of our salvation, we have none but You; Our Father, our King have mercy on us. If we have spoken much You are our Father. Remember that we are merely physical substance, we have none but you.
Our Father, our King have mercy on us. If we have sinned to you, You are our Father, our Master! Forgive us, we have none but You; our Father, our King, have mercy on us. To You, Adonai, we have hoped You are our Father; for you are our Father; for You are our Father, we have none but You; Our Father, our King have mercy on us. To You we spread our hands in prayer, You are our Father; make to us a healing, we have none but You; Deal with us with righteousness and kindness for the sake of Your great Name, and save us.

Hon Tahon

Be merciful to Your children who are returning to You, and who stand before You with trepidation, fearful of the time they will be called to judgment; it is for that reason that they come in distress. Recall compassion, on the Day of Judgment; do away with anger and wrath at the time You will judge those who fear You and those who are engrossed in Your Name they who are sitting in judgment. Bring near to me the year of the Redeemer and redeem me; upon restful waters, O Elohim, lead me. And recall for me the merit of the perfect man, place like a seal upon Your heart. If you were to keep an accounting of sins for me to create for me a burden, see, my Rock and my Redeemer, how can I carry them? I cannot carry them upon myself; rather, the evil of my actions may You carry, O Elohim be merciful on with us.

Psalm 130:1 A Song of degrees. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O YHVH. 2 Adonia, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3 If thou, YHVH, shouldest mark iniquities, O Adonai, who shall stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. 5 I wait for the YHVH, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.7 Let Israel hope in the YHVH: for with the YHVH there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
Psalm 133:1 O YHVH, my heart has not been proud, Nor have my eyes been haughty. Neither have I concerned myself with great matters, Nor with those too wondrous for me.2 Have I not calmed, and kept my being silent, Like one weaned by its mother? My being is like one weaned. 3 O Yisra?‘l, wait for YHVH, Now and forever.
May the expressions of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart always find favor before you, YHVH, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Hello brother Joseph, thank you for all the work you do. I was following along with this teaching fine until I read the following from the Berkowitz’s book,
“One of the problems in the Galatians fellowship was that there were apparently teachers circulating either from within or from without who were saying that justification is achieved by a combination of faith plus works. In other words, they were teaching that a person had to do the Torah in addition to trusting Messiah in order for Yahweh to declare him righteous.” This seems to go against everything I understand about a Torah perspective on salvation! This is exactly what James addresses in his, ‘ Faith without works is dead…’ message in chapter 2. I really hope this is a mis-print/ mis-quote. Please clarify your position on this. Thank you. If you choose to post this, please leave my name off.

Shabbat Shalom Wilson, Your name is on and I cannot remove it without deleting the post. Sorry.
Let’s get the whole quote that you are citing.
I agree with what you are saying. Faith without obedience to the law is faith without works. We agree on this. But you need to read the rest of what I am quoting from the book and read it slowly and carefully. This is a very hard subject to grasp and understand.
What the authors are saying is that in order to develop a relationship with Yehovah you must keep the law. We have many scriptures that state that. The will of Father is that you keep the commandments. Not keeping them is sin. Those who continue to sin do not have any faith in Yehovah. So Faith without works, without obeying is dead.
Now on the other hand. To expect to get into heaven just by obeying the laws to the tenth degree does not qualify you. And this is what Paul is teaching. Yehovah has called certain people throughout the ages. He has not called everyone. Only a few out of 7 Billion on this earth today. So our righteousness did not get us called. Our legalistic values did not get us saved. It was by the law that we knew we had sinned. But by the Grace of Yehovah and He alone we were called in such a way that we said we would obey. It is by His Grace that we are saved. Nothing else. But then once called do we reject that calling by continuing to sin or by repenting and then by obeying.
AS I read what the book is saying they and I are agreeing with what Paul is saying.
Those who do not want to obey call the Torah being legalistic and will not obey, claiming grace has saved them. But the fruit is not there. They do not keep the Sabbath or Holidays or Sabbatical years. Obeying is not being legalistic. It is repenting from breaking the law. And it is only by the Spirit of Yehovah that we know this. Not by our own intelligence. It is all because Yehovah opened our minds to understand. That is the grace that we have received.

This is actually was something I wasn’t going to share as we all have a personal relationship with Yehovah who do his works but it not always wise to tell others seeing they will turn on you and destroy the pearls you want to share. Seeing Mr. Dumond posted a little of what I shared with his website administrations I know Yehovah wants me to share this with those who will also have opportunity to see the pattern of Yehovah
I only emailed this week with the info Mr. Dumond shared. There were a few other that were not shared so I will start at the beginning in hopes some of you will check your own.
Now this all proves what James was saying about Following the Pattern(Pod Cast). Yehovah has a certain way he does things. Both curses and blessings depending on how we are living prior to these times.
Not everyone has turned 49 this year so i would be very confident if you are over this age doing the first Jubilee cycle will be enough. If you are younger than it might get a little more challenging but doable with a few calculations. Maybe use every 6 months as one of the years type idea.
I was born in 1969. So my Jubilee birthday year is this present year. Now i know i am assuming you all will trust I am being nothing but sincere in all i am sharing here.
I turn 50 on February 13 so I am enjoying my Jubilee year on this planet. Because I did this I ended up realizing something while watching the new postings on the charts. Mr. Dumond started or was being prepared for the Jubilee Cycle revelation just prior or during his Jubilee year.. That is just to cool to me. Yehovah does have some sense of humor. Getting revelation on Jubilee cycles during your Jubilee year. Powerful indeed. I may be off as I have only the knowledge that Mr. Dumond is turning 60 soon lol. Enough that with out calculation it pretty easy to see it would be close in any case. How cool is that everyone. Wow!!
I just want quickly share what led me to do this. My birthday last year was a blood moon. So it got my thinking about these cycles possibly being able to see in my life. Wow did they ever show up
I quickly started to see obvious things that matched the research. Like my first born son being born directly in the middle of my jubilee cycle life chart. Then again I noticed in the 4th cycle my daughter was born. Same spot in the jubilee cycle Noah was born. My birthday year in 69 10th persecutions of saints, same spot again.
I noticed quickly how I started to keep Sabbath in the 6th cycle but it wasn’t until I did the charts and watched Mr. Dumond and the others talk out a few things I almost fell of my chair as low and behold it was the very year that represents the Return to Yehovah. Wow wow wow.
This is something I just noticed also. In 2009 I organized a garbage cleanup of our local Victoria Park. I had no knowledge I was sinning against Yehovah but He had me atoning for my sins that summer by cleaning His land. That blows me away. There is much more guys but some was sort of personal. The curses showed through and were following the Pattern of this websites research. If I didn’t believe this before hand that was the nail that finished the Ark lol.
One last thing that although this is a person thing I need to share with you all. During the 5th cycle of Captivity. I was in Prison for Armed Robbery.
Please try to calculate your life to this research. I know the rewards will be worth while as the carrots just keep coming and coming and coming ha ha ha.
This is all real folks and I believe I have given you all a way to see the Fathers pattern in your lives.
Provably good to go listen to or re listen to Follow the Pattern on the Sighted Moon.com pod casts by James I believe.
As always thank you Jame s Pauline and Mr. Dumond. Loved this article as always.
    Love from NS
    Shabbat Shalom everyone.

Joseph, I guess I would say your position on grace and Torah is clear, and I agree with you. The quote from the book that I commented on is poorly written and adds confusion. Not that the book is poorly written, just those couple of sentences. They are actually contradictory to the theme of the rest of the statements. Thanks again, and please don’t post my name.

    Greetings Joe!
A quick question. What is the relationship between Yeshua and Yehovah? Did Yehovah create Yeshua or have they always existed together? Are they equals?
    Thanks,

        Hi Joe,
Thanks for the archive article you posted. In it you state that Yehovah came and was hung on a tree. I take it that Yeshua was Yehovah. If I am correct in this statement, then who is the Father that Yeshua refers to repeatedly?
        Thanks,
        Ben

Shabbat Shalom Ben. I do not have all the answers. There are many other scriptures that are difficult to explain. The Father is Yehovah. Here is another article for you to consider. https://sightedmoon.com/the-zeroah-of-yehovah/
The Zeroah of Yehovah is His right hand. No one can see the Father but Moses saw the right hand that covered his eyes.

            Shabbat Shalom Joe,
Thanks for the second link. Yes, it is a head scratcher because if Yehovah is the Father, then Yeshua cannot be Yehovah. Or can he be?
            Blessings,

Ben, Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 holds a large key to understanding.
Gen 1:1  In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.
          Gen 1:1  ??????? ??? ????? ?? ?????? ??? ?????
The Hebrew shows the Aleph Tav (1st and last letter of Hebrew alphabet) as positioned before the words heavens and earth. This indicates it is the Aleph Tav that created the heavens and the earth.
WHAT? It says Elohim created them…so which one created them?
That was the question on the minds of the Jews for centuries especially in light of the Shema in Deu 6:4 that indicates God is ONE.
          Deu 6:4  “Hear, O Yisra’?l: ???? our Elohim, ???? is one!
This verse says YHVH…YEHOVAH our ELOHIM is ONE.
So again, who is the Aleph Tav that created the heavens and the earth if there is only one Elohim?
John 1:1 now tells us….the Apostle John who spent time learning and loving Yeshua….
John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.
John 1:2  He was in the beginning with Elohim.
          “The Word” is the English for the Greek “?????? – logos log’-os From G3004;
What is the HEBREW word for this? It is the “Aleph Tav” that spoke creation into existence.
We now see Yeshua speaking through John:
Looking at “alpha omega” which translates to “Aleph Tav” in Hebrew we now see this:
Rev_1:8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Rev_1:11  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
Rev_21:6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Rev_22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
We clearly see Yeshua calling HIMSELF the Aleph Tav (translated as Alpha Omega)
The SAME Aleph Tav that was WITH ELOHIM from the beginning as spoken by JOHN and seen in GENESIS 1:1
          So…WHO IS the SON ?
The Aleph Tav IS WITH Elohim and IS ELOHIM. according to John 1:1.
He is ALSO the Aleph Tav MADE FLESH as Yeshua as explained by John in John’s letter and revealed by Yeshua speaking in John’s 2nd letter of Revelation.
WHO IS the Father? That is Yehovah. Going back to the Shema again….
          Deu 6:4  “Hear, O Yisra’?l: ???? our Elohim, ???? is one!
It clearly says YHVH IS ELOHIM and YHVH is ONE.
But….we ALSO saw Genesis 1:1 say Elohim AND the Aleph Tav created the world.
What it is showing is Elohim is both Father (SPIRIT) and the Aleph Tav. Remember he was NOT called “Father” until REnewed Covenant times and Isaiah spoke that has a prophecy. It wasn’t until the Aleph Tav became flesh as “the son” that we started referring to the SPIRIT creator as Father.
Another very interesting thing is Mt. Sinai. You will see both the Aleph Tav and YHVH as being present giving the covenant to the children of Israel.
Deu 4:10 “The day when you stood before ???? your Elohim in ?ore?, ???? said to me,
In the Hebrew you see it worded like this:
‘Assemble (Qahal) the people to Me (Aleph Tav Am)
“Am” means children and it is preceded with the Aleph Tav.
The people were to be assembled before the Aleph Tav!!!! And yet, we clearly see the name YHVH also present. JUST LIKE IN GENESIS 1:1 only it uses ELOHIM and ALeph Tav.
We also see this at Mount Sinai…
Deu 4:12 “And ???? (YEHOVAH) spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard a voice of words, but saw no form, you only heard a voice.
Deu 4:13 “And He made known to you His covenant (Brit) which He commanded you to do, the Ten Words (Dabar), and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.
Deu 4:14 “And ???? commanded me at that time to teach (lamad) you laws and right-rulings (Aleph Tav Choq Mishpat), for you to do (Asah) them
NOTICE HERE….the CHOQ …commandments and MISHPAT….judgements are PRECEEDED by the ALEPH TAV!
I hope you are seeing the spoken form of the spirit as being Aleph Tav. This is how John explains Yeshua is THE WORD that was present and spoke the world into existence.
He also spoke the “Law” to AM Israel.
The WORD (Aleph Tav) who IS THE SPIRIT FATHER as ELOHIM became flesh when Elohim hovered over Mary. Imparting the Aleph Tav into her to become flesh. He died on the tree and arose and returned BACK to ELOHIM / YHVH. The SPIRIT never ceased. He was still the Spirit Father while also being HIS SON…the Aleph Tav in the flesh dying on the tree.
SON means “One who comes forth from”…..don’t think of our limited means of requiring a physical father to pass sperm to create a physical son and they are two separate beings with two sets of dna.
Please read this very good teaching as well:

Sorry guys something occurred to me I didn’t state. I found the symbolism for each 7 year period stood out clear and true to my life, the blessings and curses. It was that symbolism that showed through straight away in the things I was living through at the time. Mostly there were blessing where curses have happened or coming judgments. I am almost certain you all find some evidence of this pattern in your lives.
Since I did this there has been so many Wow moments I screamed out my neighbors must think I some old hippy dude . Thanks guy lol.
OK think that all I need to share, hoping you all have some fun with this one.
    Thanks

Shabbat Shalom Jimmy, yes Grace is found in the 3rd commandment.
      “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Mercy is Chesed in Herbew and is the same as grace.

    Shabbat Shalom Everyone!
    I love this website.
We look directly at the painful truths of our times. It’s disturbing, but it’s Reality! We study to discover difficult to understand truths in the Word. It’s uplifting and inspiring! And we learn how to do what will help us grow in truth and love. It’s useful beyond measure.
Sometimes I feel so grateful that the words, ‘thank you’ are clearly inadequate. Praise be to Yehovah for leading me here!
I really like the traffic violation analogy, Joseph. I want to expand on that idea. I hope it doesn’t come across as just silly.
    I call it
    The City of Perfect Drivers
    Chapter 1 The Gracious Cop.
You are speeding. A cop stops you. He inspects your car and finds many issues. Some worse than others.
You say you’re sorry. You will do better. He tells you get everything fixed. He warns you that because there are so many violations, you could lose your driver’s license permanenrly if you don’t comply. He lets you go telling not to speed again.
You thank him and promise to do better. You drive away. You’ve just been saved by grace!
Two days later you make an illegal left turn. The same Cop stops you. But this time the signal light, bald tires and broken rear view mirror have all been fixed! Everything except the cracked windshield.
You say you’re sorry; that you didn’t see the sign and didn’t know it was illegal to turn where you did. You tell him that you did your best to repair everything but, you just can’t afford a new windshield until payday.
He sees you have been trying to comply, so he gives you a book with all the traffic laws and regulations so that you will know how to be a better driver. He lets your off again but reminds you that with all of the infractions he has collected against you, you could still lose your driver’s license permanenrly.
You thank him for being so kind and you promise to get the windshield fixed and pay more attention to signs. You drive away; saved by grace again!
Three months later he sees you driving by and your windshield is still not repaired. You are driving properly, everything looks fine otherwise but, you just kept putting off getting that windshield fixed. He pulls you over and without a word, he starts writing out a ticket. All the while he is doing that, you are begging for mercy. Then he tells you that he could take your license forever but instead he is going to fine you $200.
Relieved and thankful, you get the windshield repaired and you go pay the $200 fine, feeling stupid for not having taken care of it before.
You have been saved by grace again! Only this time you have been chastised! From this point on you strive to know and do all the laws of the land. You are grateful for the Grace that saved you from losing your driver’s license. You are also grateful for the fine because it was the kick in the pants you needed to stop procrastinating. So, from then onward, you genuinely do your best to become a good driver.
    Chapter 2 Heavy Chastisement
But, what if after the first time you were stopped and were let off, you had counted your lucky stars and drove away happy that you got away Scott free!
Then, two days later you are stopped for speeding again. What’s more, nothing is fixed. The cop warns you that you could lose your licence but he’s giving you another chance. He gives you a $500/ fine instead and let’s you go
You pay the fine, but you still don’t fix all the problems with your car. You get pulled over again in a few days. How gracious do you think that cop is going to be?
He takes you to court. The judge finds you guilty of all charges. He suspends your license for 6 months and orders you to pay $1000 fine. This is a big problem for you, but by the Grace of the Court you have a chance to redeem your driver’s license.
This time you have been very heavily chastised. You realize that if you don’t comply with all the laws and regulations you may end up never being allowed to drive again.
Suddenly, your attitude changes. You realize how generously you have been treated and how wrong you have been. You become more diligent in learning the rules and regulations. You study the book of laws. You fix all the problems as ordered knowing that you have been saved by grace, maybe for the last time. You are grateful it was only a fine and temporary suspension. From that point on, you genuinely strive to be a better driver.
You are saved by grace but you are expected to learn the laws of the land and obey them. If you refuse to follow the laws you will suffer permanent loss of all driving privileges.
    Chapter 3 The Narrow Road
Now imagine that you are on a journey to the City of Perfect Drivers. The highway is straight and narrow. It takes vigilance to stay on the road but you do your best. October you break one of the laws and veer off the straight and narrow. Each time you are given a reprieve and let go (saved by grace). You do your best to know and comply with all the laws until eventually you arrive at your destination. All along the way, you have been trying to be a perfect driver, and even though you have made many mistakes, the Gate Keeper sees that you are sincere and he permits you to enter the city to drive happily ever after!
You didn’t earn the rights to the city. You were granted entry by the Grace of the Gate Keeper.
    Chapter 4 The Broad Road
Now imagine that there are all kinds of other drivers out there. They get stopped, are given Grace and released. They mistakenly think that because they got away with it once, they will always get away with it. So, they continue to ignore the laws.
They may have been stopped, warned, fined and released, perhaps many times. Or maybe they were never stopped. Either way, every time they get behind the wheel they drive wherever they want, as fast as they want and without regard for any laws. They drive on the Broad Road where everyone else is driving. Everyone driving there is lawless.
Once these people arrive at the city, do you think they will be allowed entry into the City of Perfect Drivers? The Gate Keeper sees that they are a threat to the good citizens and will not allow them to go in.
    Once saved, always saved? Hmmm!
It’s more like, once saved always given a chance to learn and obey right up until you arrive at the City. Those committed to Lawlessness will not enter. For if they were to enter, they would be a danger to the other drivers.
    Charter 5 Saved by Grace
Those who have continued to learn and obey enter freely because the Gate Keeper knows their heart and freely grants them Mercy. They have been getting to know him, too. They have learned his ways and have tried to be like him.
He pays all the fines they have accrued along the way. And because he did that they love him and demonstrate that love by keeping the laws of the land to the best of their ability, just as he does.
They did not earn entry into the City. That was freely given to them by the Grace of the Gate Keeper. But He would not have given them entry if they had shown disregard for the law. And all those who are granted entry will have to continue to grow in knowledge and obedience so that the City will remain safe for everyone.
The best drivers will have greater privelages. Poorer drivers will be guided closely with love and fairness, until they also become perfect drivers.
Terrible drivers, those who continued to fail, but were contrite and sincerely tried to do better, may have to ride a bicycle for a while when they enter the City. The best drivers may get to oversee the progress of other, less experienced drivers.
    Chapter 6 The Gate Keeper.
He is a perfect driver. We follow His example and strive to drive like He does by learning and obeying all the laws. Our faithfulness is rewarded; not our obedience to the law. But that obedience demonstrates our love for Him.
The lawless will remain outside! They have not learned. Instead they have driven with reckless abandon. There is no chaos in the City. So they will hear the words, “I never knew you.” Entry denied!
    Chapter 7 The Perfect City
Having freely chosen to become good drivers like the Gatekeeper, citizens are transformed. All the laws of the city are inscribed in their hearts. The spirit of Lawlessness
is replaced with the Spirit of Love.
Citizens all work together in love to maintain perfection within the city walls. And from this City, Citizens are dispatched to assist others learning to find the narrow road and gain access to all that the City has to offer…
To this story there is no end!
This is just a story. It’s not to in the Bible. But, if people think this analogy is useful and can add to it, improve it or correct it in any way, please let me know. I think this could be a very useful tool.
As I see it the Grace of God is a call to repentence! By turning away from the world toward the Kingdom of Yehovah, we demonstrate our desire to be citizens. If we don’t repent of this world then we are of the world. Yeshua said it. “Be in the world, but not of the world”. For me, repentence has to be a daily exercise and the Law helps me maintain a contrite heart.
There has been so much to learn from these past few newsletters. One thing I have been struggling with is the issue of ‘legalism’. I have been praying for guidance to find a way to explain this term. Amazingly! You have laid it out like a direct answer to my prayers! It makes perfect sense to me. I hope my analogy expresses that.
Also, because I access the internet on a not-so-smart, smart phone, many features of your website have been difficult to see. But yesterday I checked the Archives and suddenly everything is right there! I had never seen Lesson Book 1 before. I now have it on my phone. I want the entire library so that when we are cut off from internet access, I will have a library of knowledge to share. I do wish there were some way to download all the videos though.
Blessings to all on this wonderful Sabbath Day. Enjoy your rest!

I did a study a while back with Steve Berkson called Searching for the Doctrine of Grace that really opened my eyes! Grace, more properly translated favor, is MERITED not unmerited as so many teach. Abraham received merited favor BECAUSE he obeyed YHWH.

Can you find a link to that teaching and post it here?

Grace / Favor does become quite confusing to understand. I don’t think we can narrow it down to say His Favor comes AFTER we are obedient. Yes, it does say Abraham received favor from his obedience.
Gen_6:8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
    Gen_39:4  And Joseph found grace
Gen_33:10  And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight,
BUT…..did they have this obedience from day 1? NO. They had to learn. They also had righteous Fathers teaching them so they are a little unique from the rest of us.
Here’s my order of events to explain why I disagree…..
I was a Christian….totally ignorant of Torah…..fully the Christian view point. Law done away with. Spouting what I hear from pastors.
I DETERMINED to read the OT even though others said it was a waste of time and done away with….SOMETHING inspired me to want to know how it all started.
I was blown away by the depth of the stories I THOUGHT I knew.
I was drawn closer and closer to JESUS (still totally ignorant of Hebrew mindset)…reading more Christian books, etc.
An event occurred and I KNEW JESUS wanted me to go to Israel, but didn’t know why. I just knew He had something important to show me. I sent up a fleece and He answered me BIG TIME straight out! that I was to go.
I went. NOTHING new discovered. Toured all the Christian sites, etc. along with the 7 churches of Israel (in pagan Turkey) and toured pagan Egypt. Brought home a love of idolatry and idolatrous souvenirs that would take years to realize.
On the day I left, I was depressed that I hadn’t found what I KNEW HE took me there for.
On the final leg home from Istanbul to New York, I started to read a book I had just grabbed off the bookshelf with no time to leaf through it to see what it was about. I NEVER do this.
THAT was what HE sent me to Israel for. THIS BOOK. It opened my eyes to the beginnings of the Hebrew life and upon arriving home, I read every article on his web site and from there found the COG web site and have never stopped reading and learning.
Obedience did NOT come until months after this trip before I could RECONCILE what I was reading in the OT as APPLYING to ME.
I am QUITE SURE the HOLY SPIRIT was IN ME BEFORE the time I became obedient to the Torah even initially.
It was HIM that led me to read, to be awestruck by what I was reading in the Torah, YET STILL FULLY BLINDED that these Torah laws, etc. applied to me. I only saw it as this great love story to the Jews and a far deeper understanding. This was before the trip. Before I started reading that book from Israel.
I was drawn to books on the law, the tabernacle, etc. BEFORE I even knew it applied to me!!!
I THINK THIS IS HIS FAVOR…HIS GRACE poured out on me BECAUSE HE KNEW my END from the BEGINNING.
ONLY His Spirit could have drawn me to start reading from Genesis 1:1 and ONLY His Spirit answered a fleece that told me to go to Israel. Only HIs Spirit caused me to buy that book in Israel and then search out the web sites.
ALL OF THIS BEFORE I knew any of it applied to me!!!
It took TIME to realize it applied to me and then start to become obedient.
    ONLY LOVE was present.
BUT, HE KNEW I was GOING to become obedient to His Torah…..in the future.
Therefore, to say the HOLY SPIRIT can NOT come until AFTER obedience to the Torah…..this is false!
To say FAVOR can ONLY come after obedience to the Torah….this is false.
I think this is where HIS MERCY, HIS LOVE, HIS KNOWING OUR END form the beginning…comes into play.
For those Christians who say they have His Mercy, love, salvation….if they NEVER COME to the TRUTH,…they do not have His Holy Spirit leading them. They reject His Spirit for another voice. The Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil…WHICH VOICE are you going to HEAR AND OBEY? HIS voice or haSatan’s voice.
Is it this “measure of faith” we are born with? A “measure” of His Holy Spirit to lead us IF WE LET HIM?????
Obedience came AFTER He showed me HIS FAVOR and HIS HOLY SPIRIT guiding me into His Torah!!!
BUT, I had a willing mind and heart and HE KNEW THIS.
This is my thoughts and I’m sticking to it due to my own personal experience.

I do like Rico and he has a lot of great studies. Unfortunately, you have to pay to read them now. Strike one.
Strike two is he insists he is a levite and is preparing himself for such a purpose. AND YET….He refuses to keep the Sabbatical Year AND He refuses to keep the Moad’m at the proper time via the Sighted Moon and Abiv Barley. He chooses instead to follow Judah with her false traditions in both of these cases. He prefers unity with Judah and traditions over unity with Yehovah and His Word. He will NOT be Yehovah’s Priest until he repents. He lifts up all these traditions of prayers instead. They are doing nothing for him until he repents. He does NOT have the MARK ..the “OT” of being in covenant with Yehovah. All the prayers and temple traditions isn’t going to change things. This is like Paul saying “circumcision” serves no purpose.
This last part doesn’t go with this teaching, but it does apply to Rico and Joseph Dumond….
My opinion is the sons do not represent DNA for this end time. They represent character. Names mean character. It is impossible to assign people to a tribe, via the 144,000. I have 16 lines going back just 150 years. Those 16 double to 32 just 30 year later. Then to 64. and so on. By the time you’re back to these sons being born, I have literally tens of thousands of lines I trace back to AND those lines will trace back to EVERY SON in all likelihood. We are therefore based on character.
YOU, JOSEPH DUMOND….Are the Levite for the eternal Levitical Priesthood. You are not just Reuben (France). You are many in DNA. You and all of us will be ALL the sons in DNA AND in character after we are refined. But I think our primary character will align us to a tribe and for Joseph, that is LEVI.
YOU have the MARK for the Levitical Priesthood…NOT RICO.

I am not judging what Rico does or does not do. I am using one of his teachings to help the brethren learn to repent. Period. Do not throw out the baby with the bath water.
I could give you a list of things about Rico and many other Torah Teachers. I choose rather to find those things I can use from them to help feed the Brethren as best I can.
AS to whether or not I am a Levite does no one any good. I am just another person sharing the teachings I have come to understand. I claim to be nothing more than that.

    Hi Joe,
I read in a comment you made to a reader that grace was found in the Torah. Have you ever read John 1:17 which states categorically, “for the law was given to Moses but GRACE AND TRUTH CAME BY JESUS CHRIST.” Sorry Joe, I know you love your Old Testament but start reading the New Testament with an open heart and without an agenda. There is a reason you can’t even muster together a congregation of followers but keep putting out your biased and erroneous message week after week… You work is not being blessed because it is in error!! Wake up!!

One more comment Joe. You keep harping away in Hebrew and ignoring the fact that Greek, not Hebrew recorded the life of our saviour Jesus Christ. Christo is a Greek word. The great apostle Paul was a Hellenic Jew. He didn’t speak or write in Hebrew. He wrote and thought in Greek. Further the entire New Testament was written in Greek! The New Testament writers referred to the Greek Septuagint translation of the Old Testament and NOT the Hebrew Masoretic Text. Greek, Greek and more Greek. The concept of the Logos in John is Greek, Greek and really Greek not Hebrew.
Do you even know one word of Greek? Shame on you for your biased, distorted presentation of the message of the New Testament. Stick to your Torah and all its stonings and executions. Your teachings belong in the stone age Joe and I guess that’s why you love your eye for eye punishments of the Torah. Why don’t you enlighten your readers on all the wonderful death penalties in the Torah. Should be great reading for a modern audience.
My only comfort is in the fact you have virtually NO FOLLOWERS and never will. Praise Jesus for that!!
    In the truth of Christos,

I know you will not bother to check this out. But the Gospel of Mathew was written in Hebrew. https://www.amazon.com/HEBREW-GOSPEL-MATTHEW-George-Howard/dp/0865549893
But your ignorance of the facts shows your overall ignorance of the Gospels and the Jewish Writers who wrote them.
Here is one short article that you will not agree with.
Gospel of Luke is one of the 4 gospels from which the underlying hebrew strikes out particularly strong.
Many influental exegets claim that based on the beautiful greek in the beginning, the original gospel was written in greek. These claims are however totally unsupported when examining the scripture.
Let’s begin (note that there are some hebrew letters which I couldn’t really depict in english, because I dont find anything that sounds remotely like that).
And they were both righteous before God (hebrew `le-fanim`, literally translated “before the face of God”), walking blameless in all the commandments(hebrew `mitzvhat`) and ordinances of the Lord.
And no child was born to them, because Elizabeth was barren. And both were advanced in their days.
The words in bold may be quite easy to understand for todays people, but this very ancient hebrew terminology (in hebrew `ba ba-yamim`) found for example in Genesis 18:11, ancient greeks educated in greek literature would think that there has been forming a very dark cloud around the greek language.
Also notice the typical hebrew sentense structure in Luke 1:18 (verb in the beginning of sentense)
kai eipen zacariaV proV ton aggelon kata ti gnwsomai touto egw gar eimi presbuthV kai h gunh mou probebhkuia en taiV hmeraiV authV
which would be literally translated into greek
and said zacarias to the angel, By what shall I know this? For I am an old man and my wife [is] advanced in her days
Luke 1:20, in our common english Bible would be translated as
And behold, you shall be silent and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which shall be fulfilled in their season.
which eliminates the most important part of the sentense (shown below bold), so typical in hebrew, and so non-existent in greek.
`kai idou esh siwpwn kai mh dunamenoV lalhsai acri hV hmeraV genhtai tauta anq wn ouk episteusaV toiV logoiV mou oitineV plhrwqhsontai eiV ton kairon autwn`
The words in bold are usually translated as that “because” in our common bibles, however, literal translation of the two words unhides the hebrew original. `anq wn ouk` literally means “instead, so as”, which on the other hand is `tachat usher` in hebrew, and found in the hebrew bible for example in Deuteronomy 28:62
`And you shall be left few in number, whereas (hebrew `tachat usher`, literally “instead, so as”) you were as the stars of the heavens for multitude, because you would not obey the voice of Jehovah your God.`
Or Numbers 25:13, or 1 Samuel 26;21, or 2 Kings 22:17, or Isaiah 53:12. Check out your self.
Let’s now have a look at Luke 1:55.
      Common english bible reads:
even as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed to the age., in hebrew it would sound `le-abraham vu-lezero ad-olam`
What would a person educated in greek and greek literature think about this call made to the “seed”, greek `sperma`, of Abraham? It is a typical hebrew call, which is used very often in hebrew, however in greek it cannot be used. Greek thinking of that time was very different to the hebrew one.
Luke 5:34-35 in common english bible:
34 But He said to them, You are not able to make the sons of the bridechamber(greek `hyius tou nymfonos`, hebrew `benei ha-chupa`) fast while the bridegroom(greek `nymfios`, hebrew `ha-chatan`) is with them.
35 But days will come(hebrew `tamin bajim`), even when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then in those days they will fast.
I spoke about sons of bridechamber in my previous thread, and I will speak about it again here. What would this sentense say to a pagan, christian coming from the pagan world? Nothing at all. It would only have sense to those who understood the hebrew term `benei ha-chupa`, which is a term used by rabbis(who of course spoke hebrew), that understood who is the bridegroom that Master is talking about. (the rabbis of course knew the Song of Songs from which this terminology comes from)
And theres many many more examples, but right now I’m getting kinda tired

Let me speak to your comfort level.
Our website has reached over 10 million. We have over 2000 each week coming to watch or read those things we post. Each day between 200 and 500 come to the website. How many people are going to your church every day? When I do go out to speak in Africa we have 500 to over 1000 come sit in the hot sun. IN the Philippines we have hundreds turn out to hear the things we are presenting and they want to have me on TV.
My Goal was never to have a Local group. My Goal was to reach as many as I could in the world. We are attaining our goals. Like you have said I have no followers and in this you are correct. I teach each and everyone who comes to our site to follow Yehovah and Him Alone. I also teach all those who come here to learn how to teach so they can go out and teach others what they have learned here. I have never sought to get a large group following me. No I teach them to learn the truths and then teach others to then learn those same truths and then they, in turn, go out and teach others. Most people stay here for one or two years and then begin to teach themselves..
Shame on you for thinking you have to be a mega church in order to do teach the truth. Have you never heard of the mustard seed parable? Whole churches in the Philippines are converting from the Sunday lies they have been taught to now keeping the Sabbath and Holy Days and finally understanding the things Yehshua said which can only be understood when you begin to obey. But I guess you would not understand that.
Look this up in your bible. God does not hear the prayers of sinners. Those who do not keep the commandments. Those who say they love Yehshua and do nto keep the commandments are liars. Which is what you are Spiros. Until you repent your prayers are not being heard.

“Scripture taken from the Aramaic English New Testament Copyright 2008. Used by permission of Netzari Press.”
1 Peter 5:12-14 indicates Peter (Keefa) is in Babylon.
The following passage comes from the AENT as indicated above in the copyright notice:
“This verse and the Church of the East, who preserved the Peshitta text for nearly 2,000 years, agree. Their documents are unanimous in proclaiming that Keefa had his First Epistle delivered to their door in Abdiabne, from Keefa’s assembly in Babylon. Furthermore, Babylon was an obvious choice for Keefa, since it boasted the largest Jewish population in the world outside of Israel.”
“The church of the East only accepted copies of these books from Shlichim or their immediate associates.” (This included the 2nd tier of talmidim known as the 70 which often times delivered the letters).”
Rav Saul (Paul) often quoted from Matthew, which is understandable since Matthew was a leader of the Talmidim and Paul himself says he doesn’t consider himself equal to them.
The assemblies of the East were as great or greater then the assemblies that went westward. Furthermore, the Aramaic Scriptures of the East are more vast and accurate then those coming out of the Greek west which became influenced by Constantine and the new doctrines that began to take root.
The Eastern Aramaic Peshitta is traced back to the original manuscripts and letters of the original talmidim making the translation from the Khabouris Codex, one of 360 manuscripts that make up the Eastern Peshitta family, the most accurate of translations.
We can see from these many source testifying the Book of Matthew was originally written in HEBREW and then translated into Greek. We therefore also know that when Paul quotes Matthew in the Greek, he (or an assistant) is translating the original quote from Hebrew into Greek.
So much for those Christian experts that insist the entire NT was written in Greek and then translated into Hebrew.
      From Eusebius, Ecclesiastical history, 3.39
Papias (150-170 CE); “Matthew composed his work in the Hebrew dialect, and each translated as best the could.”
      From Irenaeus, Against Heresies, 3.1
Irenaeus (170 CE): “Matthew also issued a written Gospel among the Hebrews in their own dialect.”
In the work called Hypotyposes, to sum up the matter briefly
he [Clement of Alexandria] has given us the abridged accounts
of all the canonical Scriptures,… the Epistle to the Hebrews he
asserts was written by Paul, to the Hebrews, in the Hebrew tongue; but that it was carefully translated by Luke, and published among the Greeks.
(Clement of Alexandria; Hypotyposes (c. 200 CE) referred to by
      Eusebius in Eccl. Hist. 6:14:2)
For as Paul had addressed the Hebrews in the language of his country; some say that the evangelist Luke, others that Clement, translated the epistle.
(Eusebius (4th Cent.); Eccl. Hist. 3:38:2-3)
Eusebius (315 CE) – Matthew also, having first proclaimed the Gospel in Hebrew, when on the point of going also to the other nations, committed it to writing in his native tongue, and thus supplied the want of his presence to them by his writings. [Eccl. Hist. 3:24]
Epiphanius (370 CE) – They [The Nazarenes] have the Gospel according to Matthew quite complete in Hebrew, for this Gospel is certainly still preserved among them as it was first written, in Hebrew letters. [Panarion 29:9:4]
Jerome ( 382 CE) – Matthew, who is also Levi, and from a tax collectore came to be an Apostle first of all evangelists composed a Gospel of Christ in Judea in the Hebrew language and letters, for the benefit of those of the circumcision who had believed, who translated it into Greek is not sufficiently ascertained. Furthermore, the Hebrew itself is preserved to this day in the library at Caesarea, which the martyr Pamphilus so diligently collected. I also was allowed by the Nazarenes who use this volume in the Syrian cityof Borea to copy it. In which is to be remarked that, wherever the evangelist…. makes use of the testimonies of the Old Scripture, he does not follow the authority of the seventy translators, but that of the Hebrew. [Lives of Illustrious Men, Book 5]
Isho’dad (850 CE) – His [Matthew’s] book was in existence in Caesarea of Palestine, and everyone acknowledges that he wrote it with his hands in Hebrew. [Isho’dad Commentary on the Gospels]
The AENT tells us the 1905 Critical Edition Peshitta did a fairly good job of translating FROM these Eastern manuscripts, however “it also allowed Western Christian bias to creep in by selecting later readings as well.”
These next two passages come from the AENT:
“The two sets of 22 books reveal the Alap-Taw (Alef-Tav) the beginning and the end, and provide two distinct and powerful witnesses that YHWH is One and His Name is One. From within time and space, while Mashiyach was on Earth, he revealed himself physically and spiritually to the Renewed Covenant writers, always referring to YHWH as his Father. Pre-incarnate Mashiyach was the Word (Miltha) of YHWH whom Yochanan testifies came and dwelt among us, the Living Torah (instructions in righteousness) and the Way of YHWH that brings salvation.”
“The “Word” within the Renewed Covenant is Mashiyach and is Spirit which is meant to be written upon our neshama (spirit) and that Word is the same Torah and Prophetic Word that was revealed in the 22 books of the Tanakh. We can see throughout the Renewed Covenant that the tzelem (image) of this same nature is the Sons’ reflection of Father YHWH (Hebrews 1:1-5) of whom the terms devar and memra mature the revelation of Mashiyach onward towards the Miltha – which Yochanan 1:1 reveals as being with YHWH and was YHWH Himself!”
The AENT uses the word “Miltha” rather then “The Word” indicating there is no good way of translating this word other then to maybe say “reflection”.
Flavius Josephus (A.D. 37-100) tells us there were 22 books in the Tanach and the Eastern Peshitta says the same thing. The AENT is presented likewise as 22 books.
“We have but twenty-two [books] containing the history of all time, books that are justly believed in; and of these, five are the books of Moses, which comprise the law and earliest traditions from the creation of mankind down to his death. From the death of Moses to the reign of Artaxerxes, King of Persia, the successor of Xerxes, the prophets who succeeded Moses wrote the history of the events that occurred in their own time, in thirteen books. The remaining four documents comprise hymns to God and practical precepts to men (William Whiston, trans., Flavius Josephus against Apion, Vol. I, in Josephus, Complete Works, Grand Rapids: Kregel, 1960, p. 8). ”
Jeff Benner tells us more about the Jews disdain for Greek:
      http://www.ancient-hebrew.org/nt_origins.html
“The book of Maccabees, one of the books of the Apocrypha, tells the story of the Jewish Revolt about 150 years before the time of the New Testament. The Greeks, lead by Antiochus Epiphines, conquered the land of Israel and forced the Jews to leave their national heritage and the Torah and begin following the Greek culture. Because of the Jews hatred for all things Hellenistic, including the culture and language, Judah Maccabee lead a revolt against Antiochus Epiphines, both expelling the Greeks and slaughtering those Jews that had adopted the Greek language and culture. This revolt demonstrates the Jewish hatred of the Hellistic culture and the incorrect assumption that the Jews freely adopted the Greek language during the time of the New Testament.”
      Jeff Benner continues with this:
“The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church that once said in 1958 in its first edition, Hebrew “ceased to be a spoken language around the fourth century BC”, now says in 1997 in its third edition, Hebrew “continued to be used as a spoken and written language in the New Testament period””.
Again, those Christians who insist that Israel spoke Greek have zero understanding of the real truth.
Maybe they need to update their Pastors on the deceptions they learned in cemetery school.

Act 22:3  I am truly a man, a Jew born in Tarsus in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, taught according to the exactness of the Law of the fathers, being a zealous one of God, as you all are today.
Gamaliel is a Hebrew Scholar and sage. He required ALL of his followers to memorize the entire Torah. THIS WOULD BE HEBREW. Paul therefore most assured knew and spoke Hebrew and was skilled in knowledge of Torah LONG before he started teaching about Yeshua in Asia Minor. He spoke the Hebraic idioms we see throughout the Renewed Covenant.
(I want to add I KNEW everything I am saying here BEFORE ever knowing Joseph Dumond lest you think I am brainwashed by Joe and only speaking what he speaks.)
Nehemiah Gordon and Brad Scott both worked on the translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls. I would think they would hold a lot of knowledge of Hebrew and Aramaic to be asked to serve in this role. Likely more knowledge then most Christians have. Nehemiah holds a Masters Degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelors Degree in Archeology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem as has become an expert in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek….this is why he was then asked to work on the Dead Sea Scrolls. He has worked as a translator on the Dead Sea Scrolls and a researcher deciphering ancient Hebrew manuscripts.
Nehemiah also translated the Hebrew Matthew book that was hidden away in the Pope’s archives. I WONDER WHY they kept it hidden? They are both Torah followers and see the original came from Hebrew, then translated into Greek. You can not maintain Hebraic idioms when the original is in Greek. There are many OTHER experts in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek that ALSO see the original as being Hebrew.
What Christians spout as truth is nothing more then what is repeated by Pope’s to Pastors ever since the Greeks called the Hebrew follower of Jews…Christos…..followers of Messiah. THEY themselves did NOT call themselves that.
Constantine felt threatened so created a religion to blend the teachings of Yeshua with the sun god worship of the Roman Empire. He then created his churches and preachers to teach this crap and deceive the whole world just as Yeshua said would happen.
He then proceeded to kill those who wouldn’t convert. YOUR Peter is actually the fake Peter located in St Peter’s Basilica. It came from Egypt. Oh yeah, that’s the real peter alright. Straight out of the sun god temple as a gift to the Pope.
I’ve been to Nicea. Have you? It is just outside Istanbul (formerly CONSTANTINOPLE) where Constantine had his summer home. This is where he met with his Catholic Priests to create the Nicene creed to go forth teaching as Yeshua’s teaching. They changed the Saturday sabbath to SUNDAY in honor of the sun god, which they worshiped and continue to do so. They changed Passover to Easter, to align with their Ishtar worship. Easter IS Ishtar. SHOW me Easter in Scripture!! SHOW ME 3 days and 3 nights from Friday to Sunday AM!!!
Mat 7:21  Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.
Mat 7:22  Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23  And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!
LAW LESS NESS — means ABSENCE of LAW. DUH! Any 3rd grader can understand that.
It does NOT SAY THOSE WORKING THE LAW!!!!!
If the Law is done away with, I ask you, have you rejected all the laws in your nations? Especially those Christians in the western nations. Since they are ALL based on Torah…EXPLICITLY….then any 3rd grader could deduce since the Law of Torah is done away with then USA laws are done away with as well.
Since the Law is replaced ONLY with a Law of LOVE….then atheists are accepted into the Kingdom of Heaven as well. Many atheists have love of family and others and they love their god too. Muslims love their god and love their family, then they go blow up innocent children to show their love of god. Don’t tell me they can’t murder, because the law is done away with and MURDER along with the other 10 commands come straight from the Torah.

A graceful start and end to a statement with haughtiness and insults all the rest way through is still the same as statements without any gracefulness. The only ones you are fooling is yourselves sadly.
I keep seeing King David’s grave sin of numbering his armies instead of Trusting the Father Yehovah written here over and over and over. Except David repented when he realized he had sinned against Yehovah.
There no difference from trusting in the numbers of the christian mega churches.
    David’s Census
2Sa 24:1  And again the displeasure of ???? burned against Yisra’?l, and moved Dawi? against them to say, “Go, number and Yehu?ah.”
2Sa 24:2  And the sovereign said to Yo’a? the commander of the army who was with him, “Go please, throughout all the tribes of Yisra’?l, from Dan to Be’?rshe?a, and register the people, so that I know the number of the people.”
2Sa 24:3  And Yo’a? said to the sovereign, “Even if ???? your Elohim does add to the people a hundredfold more than there are, and the eyes of my master the sovereign see it, but why does my master the sovereign delight in this matter?”
2Sa 24:4  However, the sovereign’s word was strong towards Yo’a? and against the commanders of the army. And Yo’a? and the commanders of the army went out from the presence of the sovereign to register the people of Yisra’?l.
