Yehovah or Yahweh? Prove it!

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom To the Royal Family,

Mail about Last Weeks Dateline Article

Dear Brother,

What a shame that your very valuable time was taken up with this subject. Why is it that some choose to consider these things and miss the greater picture of focusing on Him.
I used to meet with a very scattered group to discuss scripture when two parties from our very small group decided to follow a calendar, which is no longer the sighting of the moon but some obscure in between date of the spring equinox. The weekly Sabbath changes from year to year? Not only that, but the flat earth…….say no more.
The above subject you have taken the time to address is like the two subjects I have mentioned here.

Thankfully for me, there is a lot of people 20 miles away coming out of Sunday and going through the weekly Torah and finding fellowship with each other. The Ruach is moving within the group, which is growing, from meeting in a house to a rented room from the church of England.
Let us keep our eyes on Him and keep a check on our own hearts.

Many blessings to you Joseph
A sister in the UK Sonia

There was another email that I had missed or forgotten about that I could have and should have added had I of known. The person who wrote those emails to me reminded me that they had asked because they were going from New Zealand to Hawaii and would be crossing the international dateline and going from the end of Sabbath in New Zealand and arriving in Hawaii while it was still the Sabbath there. And they wanted to know what to do.

Their research led into those people I had mentioned last week. The person writing the emails was not seeking to switch the Sabbath to Sunday which I may have inferred in my blanket statement.

So let me address this issue now.

When I fly to Israel I make sure I do not fly on the Sabbath. I make sure I do not leave nor do I land there on the Sabbath nor on a Holy Day. Not on the Holy Day, the Jews keep and not on the one I use by the crescent moon and the barley being Aviv. I do this to obey Yehovah and to be respectful of the Jews who are on a different Holy Day.

So even though I had kept the Sabbath Holy in New Zealand and after the Sabbath would be flying to Hawaii which would still be keeping the Sabbath by the time I arrive, I would not do it. because I would be employing someone on the Sabbath to serve me. Either the Stewardess or the ground crew or a taxi or hotel staff.

So I would make sure I landed on a day that was not the Sabbath even it meant I had to leave one day later.

This then raises another question. What about Hotel Staff, when you meet in a hotel for a convention for the weekend. The costs are paid for before the Sabbath. No staff should be used during the Sabbath. All setup and take down of equipment for the event should be done by Brethren. Much like the Levite who laboured on the Sabbath to perform the offerings. It was not sinning to them. So I am OK with meetings in Hotels but against the doing of business in the hotel on the Sabbath. All business should be completed before time.

Panics and Epidemics

At the time of this writing, we have just had two Missile launch warnings. One in Hawaii and another in Japan. In both cases, people went running for cover and did not know where to go or what to do to protect themselves. All of this comes on the heels of US President Trump threatening to send fire and fury on North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who is threatening to send Nuclear ICBM on Guam and now all of the USA.

Across Hawaii, thousands of cell phones received a message: “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

The message, sent at approximately 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, immediately propelled almost all of Hawaii’s 1.4 million residents into panic. The chaos lasted for more than half an hour before another cell-phone message was sent out, retracting the warning.

Since 2005 we have been warning across North America, the UK and her territories as well as the rest of the world about what was to come. In this past year, we have begun to speak to leaders of some countries about the curses of Leviticus 26. We have been warning you through this Newsletter, books, and videos and Podcasts of the coming horror that is prophesied to come. We have had close to 10 million hits to our various sites, but only a few actually believe this information, these prophecies. Far too many consider it just head knowledge and interesting to know, but do nothing about it.

We are warned in Ezekiel that when you see the sword coming you must shout out a warning to the others or else their blood will be on your hands. So how many of you are shouting out this warning? How many of you are dragging people back to the videos and books at sightedmoon.com?

Yehovah said He would punish the 12 Tribes of Israel if they forgot and disobeyed Him:

“… I will even appoint over you terror …. and ye shall flee when none pursueth you” (Leviticus 26:16-17).

Verse 36 offers more detail:

“the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.”

You have now just witnessed thousands of people fleeing for cover in Hawaii. We have shown you before many times how the people are running for cover in Israel daily when rockets are launched at many of their cities.

Yehshua warned us of this time just before He was killed.

Mat 24:6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

North Korea is not going to do anything to the US except jump up and down and make a lot of noise to gain attention. They are not mentioned in Bible Prophecy. And yet we are also told that

Gen 49:22 “Joseph is a fruitful bough,
a fruitful bough by a spring;
his branches run over the wall.
The archers bitterly attacked him,
shot at him, and harassed him severely,

In biblical prophecy, archers are those who launch missiles, and we are being told that Joseph, the USA and the UK and her dominion, of Canada, Australia and New Zealand, are going to be bitterly attacked by archers. But who? And when?

We have also been sharing with you those curses in Lev 26 that are found in the 3rd Sabbatical cycle and would carry over into the 4th one we are now in.

The third curse of Lev 26 is epidemics and death by diseases. Even as I go to post this the news today about the flu outbreak in Toronto and how some are dying.

I know of my own family members that died in this story in 1919.

100 Years Ago: Deadliest Flu in History Killed Tens of Millions: Could it Happen Again?

The U.S. Centers for Disese Control says the current flu seaon is the most severe in nine years and getting worse.  30 children have died from the virus and most states are reporting sharp increases in hospitalizations each week.  Concern over the current flu outbreak has some wondering how bad it could get,-even questioning the likelihood of what occurred in 1918.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Spanish Flu.  It was the deadliest flu pandemic in human history and the third deadliest disease outbreak ever.

Within just one year, Spanish Flu swept the entire globe, killing 50 million people, about four percent of the world’s population at that time, including 675,000 Americans.  By comparison, smallpox killed an estimated 300 million people in the 20th century, The Plague killed 20 million people in a four-year period during the 1300s.  The AIDS virus has reportedly killed a total of 35 million people worldwide since the 1970s.

The catastrophic Spanish Flu killed its victims suddenly.  People who contracted the aggressive virus often appeared fine in the morning and were dead that night.  Unlike most influenza viruses which prove fatal mostly to the very old or very young, Spanish Flu morbidity centered on healthy people in their twenties and thirties.

One of the first known outbreaks of Spanish Flu occurred in Kansas in 1918.  However, it wasn’t named “Spanish Flu” until later after a reported outbreak in Spain.  It’s believed U.S. servicemen deployed to Europe during World World I greatly contributed to the rapid spread of the virus.

This season’s virulent flu outbreak, combined with marking the 100th anniversary of the Spanish Flu has many wondering whether another pandemic like it could occur today.

Unlike today, before and during the Spanish Flu pandemic, there were no effective vaccines.  According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, it wasn’t until the 1950s that vaccine manufacturers could routinely produce vaccines that would help control and prevent future pandemics.

However, even though we have flu vaccines, they are far from effective, only as much as 60% at best.  This year’s vaccine is estimated to be only about 30% effective, some estimates have it as low as 10%.  The actual efficacy won’t be determined until after the flu season has ended.

This years strain is known as the H3N2 virus.

The CDC expects the 2017-2018 flu epidemic is shaping up to be the most deadly since 2009-2010 swine flu epidemic that killed 284,000 people worldwide and 657 Californians. What makes this year’s flu potentially so deadly is that there are three sub-type variations of the Influenza A strain and three variations of the Influenza circulating.

According to a CDC weekly report released Friday, the flu is now widespread in all states except Hawaii and the District of Columbia. At least 60,000 cases of the flu have been reported.

Cases of influenza have reached epidemic proportions, touching nearly all parts of the United States and killing at least 20 children, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.

We are keeping you abreast of the times we are in and how they coincide with the curses of Lev 26.

Yehovah or Yahweh? Prove it!

Well, this week I have had 4 days to work on the News Letter and it is still not complete. It is incomplete as I have had to spend a great deal of time reading and researching old journals. But it has paid off.

I am so excited at what we have just found and wanted to share it. I have found three more Tombstones giving us now a total of 11 that are translated into English. All 11 of them confirming the Sabbatical and Jubilee years we have in our charts. But this week’s News Letter is not yet completed and in fact, there is more to come in about a months time. And this has me on the edge of my seat. I was going to post it in an incomplete form. Then the following came in and I am inspired that this new news is more important and better for you to learn from this week.

Nehemiah Gordon has just announced that they have over 1000 manuscripts with the proper name of Yehovah with the vowel points in it. I know many of you have your own understanding of how to say the name based on someone who was not raised speaking Hebrew and who later learned the language. If your version of the name is correct then you should be able to find it over 1000 times in all kinds of manuscripts and be able to prove Nehemiah wrong. Unfortunately, for those who believe His name is Yahweh, Yahweh has not been found in any of these old manuscripts. Could it be possible that you have been pronouncing the Name wrong?

I wrote to Nehemia and told him I was going to post his findings in this week’s News Letter and I asked him to explain one of the things he mentions in the audio. He wrote back right away to me and blessed me and you with the following.

Shalom Joe,

Good to hear from you. Yehovah be with you!

As of this morning (Jan 25, 2018), we have found 1,019 manuscripts with the vowels Yehovah (Sheva, Cholam, Kamatz). We also found two manuscripts containing the vowels Sheva, Cholam, Patach, also pronounced… Yehovah! One of the most exciting finds is the Name written as Yehovah in Babylonian Pointing. The vowel symbols used by most Jewish communities are known as Tiberian Pointing. Babylonian Pointing represents a separate dialect of Hebrew. For example, Moses is pronounced Mosheh in Tiberian Pointed Hebrew, but Moshah in Babylonian Pointed Hebrew! Tiberian Pointing has 7 vowels, whereas Babylonian Pointing only has 6. These two dialects of Hebrew were preserved by different Jewish communities, independently. So far we have found three manuscripts with the Name written as Yehovah (Sheva, Cholam, Kamatz) in Babylonian Pointing!

I’m attaching some photos you should feel free to use.

Cambridge University Library: Hosea 14:2 says “return to Yehovah your God” and Yehovah is written with Sheva, Cholam, Kamatz in Babylonian Pointing.
British Library, Or. 1467: Leviticus 4:1 Yehovah with Sheva, Cholam, Patach
Aleppo Codex: Isaiah 30:1 Yehovah with Sheva, Cholam, Kamatz (one of only 7 known places in the Aleppo Codex)

Let me know if you have any questions or need any further assistance.

Please celebrate with Nehemiah at this new milestone of discovery that he has just announced and listen to this new episode of his discoveries.

In this special episode of Hebrew Voices1,000 Manuscripts with Yehovah, Nehemia Gordon celebrates the incredible milestone of finding God’s holy name with full vowels in over 1,000 Hebrew Bible manuscripts. Nehemia speaks with some of his team scouring Bible manuscripts in libraries around the world, as well as some of the people who have been key in spreading this vital information to Israel and the Nations. He also shares the exciting project he has planned next.

My thanks to all those who support my ministry and make it possible for me to do this important research! Thanks also to T-Bone, Dawn Irion, Chris Clark, Adam Kinghorn, and all the other volunteers scouring the libraries of the world looking for Yehovah’s holy name in Hebrew Bible manuscripts!

This is the first passage we found in the 1,000th Hebrew Bible manuscript we discovered with the full vowels of God’s holy name Yehovah. The passage is Deuteronomy 18:5 and says, “to serve the name of Yehovah”! This manuscript is from the Cairo Genizah and is now housed at the Bodleian Library at Oxford University.

Thank you for this announcement of these latest findings on the Name. Previously, my personal research led me to only look at each of the four letters in the name YHWH individually — ie: What sound does Yod make? What sound Hey make? What sound does Waw/Vav make? Not speaking Hebrew, I came up with Y-ah-oo-ah. Once again, not speaking Hebrew (I feel that this point must be repeated), I told people that it was my best guess at the Name and may not be the exact pronunciation, as vowel sounds differ heavily according to accent/region. I also told people not to argue over the exact pronunciation of the name, as such arguments rarely led to positive conversations.
However, my desire to better learn the Name has never gone away. This topic has been a repeated one from time to time in my household with my family, and especially my oldest son. I am glad and thankful for both Nehemiah’s research and your ability and interest in sharing it! Do I feel bad that my initial guess (or other later guesses) at the name were wrong? That I was like a child learning to talk and mispronouncing my letters… ABSOLUTELY NOT! I’m glad that Yehovah put the desire in my heart to learn His Name…
… and, I’m glad that I’m not alone. I am thankful to have an online community such as this with which to to learn and share.

    Hi Joe,
You got Nehemia converted yet? One of these days I think he’ll come around having spent so much time with you and other faithful believers like you.
Interested in getting your opinion (and others too) on this Michael Brown article I’ve added in order to understand why so many scripts are found with the word Yehovah in Hebrew.
Was it a Jewish tradition to write the vowels for the word ’adonai, LORD, with the consonants for the name Yahweh and they wrongly read this hybrid word as Yehowah, or Jehovah? Not just this most sacred word but they did it to other “offensive” words as well.
Consider this report from Michael Brown.
Before getting into more specifics about the original pronunciation of God’s name, YHWH, let me explain the Jewish scribal custom known as qere-ketiv (pronounced q’rey, k’teev), Aramaic for “read” and “it is written.” This practice included several different scribal customs, including: (1) the practice of not reading certain words that were considered objectionable in the biblical Hebrew text and replacing them with less offensive words in their place; and (2) the practice of replacing one reading of a word with a variant reading of that same word, normally reflecting a minor difference in spelling or grammar. An example of the former would be the reading of the verb “lie with” (Hebrew shakab) for the verb “ravish” (Hebrew shagal). This occurs four times in the Tanakh, Deuteronomy 28:30; Isaiah 13:16; Jeremiah 3:2; and Zechariah 14:2, which is why the NIV translates with “ravish” (as written in the Hebrew text) but in an ancient synagogue, the marginal text with “lie with” would have been read. In this case, “ravish” would be the ketiv, what is written in the main Hebrew text, while “lie with” would be the qere, the word to be read in place of what is written. An example of the latter would be the substitution of the plural form of a word for the singular form, or, to use English as an example, substituting the spelling “color” for “colour.” These types of substitutions occur frequently. Again, the substituted form is the qere while the replaced form is the ketiv.
How did the Jewish scribes indicate this? In some manuscripts, the word to be replaced (the ketiv, the word written in the main text) would be left without vowels, which would be quite conspicuous. Then, in the margin of the text, the qere would be written in full (that is, with both consonants and vowels). In other manuscripts, the consonants of the word in the text (ketiv) would be preserved but the vowels of the word to be read in its place (qere) would be substituted, creating a hybrid form, while the consonants of the qere word would be written in the margin.
Recreating this in English—this is only for the purpose of illustration, since the languages are very different—I will substitute the Hebrew name Miryam for the name Mary, using the two methods just mentioned.
The first method would look like this, where the vowels would be left out from the word in question in the main text (the ketiv) and the word to be read in its place (the qere) would be written out in full:
The virgin’s name was Mry. Miryam
The second method would look like this, where the vowels from the marginal text (the qere) would be inserted into the word in the main text (the ketiv), creating a hybrid, non-existent form in the main text, while the word in the margin would be written without vowels.
The virgin’s name was Miriya. Mrym
In both cases, any English reader would recognize at once that there was something wrong with the form in the main text (either Mry or Miriya), looking at once to the margin to see the replacement word. How then was it that the Christian scholars who began studying Hebrew in the late Middle Ages missed the fact that the Hebrew formyehowah was a combination of the consonants for yahweh and the vowels for ’adonai?
It is very simple. In the case of the divine name yhwh, which occurs roughly 6,800 times in the Hebrew Bible, the scribes did not write the qere form, ’adonai, in the margins, so these scholars had no idea that they were actually looking at a hybrid form, similar to the make believe Miriya just used as an illustration.
It had been a Jewish belief for many centuries that the Lord’s name was too sacred to be pronounced and so, whenever it occurred in the text, Jews would say “the Lord” (’adonai) in its place. This is reflected as far back as the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures made by Jewish scholars in the third to second centuries B.C., in which the Greek word kurios, “lord,” was substituted for the name yahweh. It may also be reflected in the scribal practice found in the Dead Sea Scrolls in which a different script was used when writing out the consonants y-h-w-h.
There was no need, then, for later Jewish scribes to constantly indicate in the margins that y?howah was not the original reading, since this was universally known to all literate Jews. It was not known, however, to the Christian scholars who were newcomers to Hebrew and who mistakenly took the hybrid form of the name to be the original form of the name.
What then was the original pronunciation of the Lord’s name? It is best reconstructed as yahweh, a causative form of the root “to be” and meaning, “He who causes things to be; he who make things happen.” (The Hebrew for the famous words “I am that I am” in Exodus 3:14 is, ’eh?yeh ’asher ’eh?yeh, with the word ’eh?yeh being a play on words with yahweh, also coming from the same root, “to be.”) This reconstruction is also based on the short formyah, which occurs in the word “Hallelujah” (from the Hebrew words hall?lu [praise] yah), as well as in names such as Elijah (from the Hebrew ’eliyahu, short for “my God is Yahweh).
Religious Jews would not think of referring to God by either the wrong name Jehovah or the right name Yahweh, since the former is basically meaningless to them and the latter would be considered too sacred to pronounce. To them, He would be called God or the Lord or HaShem (literally, the Name; in popular practice, then, HaShem becomes the Lord’s new name). However, when words such as God or Lord are written by religious Jews, they are not written in full—hence the common forms G-d or L-rd—since they are considered too sacred even to write out, except in official, sacred texts, such as the Bible or prayer book. [End of M. Brown’s article].
So, with this type of cover-up or alteration of Hebrew script, regardless of the reasons, we can understand why so many copies are found with the name WHYH misrepresented. It’s actually a wonder Nehemia hasn’t found more or even that all of them are not modify to get readers to pronounce the name incorrectly.
Just something to consider as we all strive to live our life in obedience. Blessings Joe and all others out there.

    Joe,
Why don’t you look at what Brother Don Esposito podcasted in his teaching on the name: http://www.coyhwh.com It would be wise on your part to research both sides with an open mind. Why then aren’t the Jews celebrating as the pronunciation of the name has now been found? Because it isn’t Yehovah. Go to the wall on Yom Kippurim and listen in on what they quietly say…it isn’t Yehovah. Look up the other scholars research on YHWH and you will find that through their research Yehovah is grammatically incorrect. So you are telling me that Nehemia is correct and all of them are wrong? Within the ancient paleo Hebrew, the vav was always pronounced wav. I don’t want to know what people think in their own understanding of today of what it meant… I want to go back to Josephus and earlier to see what they thought and understood. Josephus references the vowel points on the High Priest headband with the only conclusion being Yahweh. The Talmudic scribes and scholars admit to adding the vowel points of Adonai to mispronounce the name- it was too holy to utter in their understanding. What did Clement of Alexandria think? Yahweh Theodore of Cyprus? Yahweh The Samaritans on Mt Gerizim still pronounce YHWH from the paleo Hebrew scroll that they have as Yahweh! Yeminites pronounce the vav and wav.

    Hi
I am going through the book of Samuel and I would like to have a timeline that shows me what year he was born and how old he was when he died. We are told that he anointed Saul as king in 1050, and Saul died in 2011 and Samuel also anointed David as the king that would take over from Saul. I assume that when YHVH called his name three times and Samuel answered “Here I am YHVH” that he was about 12 or 13 years old which is the traditional age of a young boy doing barmitsvah; but we are not told his age.
And when and IF you do answer please, give me the reference that you got the information from.
    Thank you very much

Thank you for your work Joe, and Nehemiah too. It is difficult to walk the path alone (almost) so it is good to get validation here and there. One day those without ears to hear will hear for better or worse. Praise to be to YAH.

    Shabbat Shalom Joseph,
The further we go back to the source of the ancient language the more accurate of an answer we will receive. Most linguistic and etymological scholars believe that the ancient pronunciation of the letter ‘vav’ was more like a “w” than that of a “v”. If we look at some modern languages close to Israel, Arabic does not contain a “v” sound but a “w” and Syrian/Aramaic does not contain the “v” or ‘vav’ sound, only the “w” or “waw”. Modern Samaritans do not use the ‘vav’ sound neither does the Druze or Bedouins living in the Middle East. Generally speaking, most modern dialects and linguistics are passed down from their ancient predecessors. So what about the ancient languages? The Ancient Sumerian language does not contain a ‘v’ nor does the Akkadian language. Ancient Assyrian and Babylonian are mainly derived from Ancient Akkadian and Sumerian. Both do not have the ‘v’ in their language. If we dig in to the Proto-Sinaitic alphabet (which was later adopted by the Phoenicians and very close to ancient Hebrew), it did not contain a ‘v’ or ‘vav’ sound but a ‘w’ or ‘waw’ sound. This is the same with Paleo-Hebrew. What about ancient Hittite? No ‘v’. The Ugaritic (near modern day Lebanon) language also does not contain a ‘v’ but a ‘w’. What about ancient Greek? The Attic dialect (5th century BC) used by writers such as Plato did not have the ‘v’ pronunciation. If we advance to the time of Alexander the Great (4th century BC), the Koine Greek dialect still did not have the ‘v’ pronunciation. It stands to reason that if the ancient cultures around the area of Israel did not have a dialect that contained the ‘v’ sound, then most likely the Torah and the Tanakh did not contain a ‘v’ nor was the letter ‘vav’ spoken as a “vav” but rather as a ‘w’ or “waw”. How did Moshe and ancient Israel pronounce the ‘vav’? IMO I believe it was spoken and pronounced as a ‘waw’ just like their neighbors around Israel and those in the land (Canaanites) before their return conquest. Languages and linguistics change over time. Just because some modern languages contain a ‘v’ or ‘vav’ sound today doesn’t mean that they did 2,500+ years ago. One perfect example is the letter ‘J’. Practically non existent in any language prior to the 1500’s (CE). Just my 2 shekels. Shabbat blessings everyone

Thank you for inspiring us to research and study and most of all prove all things.
On a totally different note. Can you possibly advise why some of us never seem to have breakthrough in our personal lives. Where do we start to look for the reasons why. We have seasons of breakthroughs but it is not consistent enough to be able to continue with what we believe we are called to do.
I’m referring here to our every day lives. What is your believe system on generational curses. I look forward to hearing from you. Or if you already addressed this discussion previously then please be so kind as to direct me to the study subject.
For example, I know my calling. I am passionate about it. But struggling to get it going and off the ground.
    Thank you.

    Shalom Joseph,
Concerning the name of our Father, it is similar to coming into Torah obedience. We, none of us, can persuade anyone else we are correct. All we can do is stand on what we are convinced with charity and compassion of heart for the Brethren. It may help your readers to know that Nehemiah Gordon didn’t just decide Yehovah was the correct pronunciation. His account of his walk to this position is a lively testimony to his own walk with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The 1019 vowel pointed references are confirmation to Nehemiah of a job well done. The book is called, ‘Shattering the Conspiracy of Silence’. It is worth reading.

Joseph, another good and informative newsletter. I am amazed that you are able to produce so much within a week, along with all the other things going on as well as just normal things. I always try to read your letters. Always fruitful. I lean towards Nehemias’s understanding. When we start cutting out scriptures, where do we stop? To me that would be the flaw in Dr. Brown’s theory, but I am grateful you posted some decent objections on your comments. It helps us to be good bereans. To decide for ourselves. Shalom!

Shalom Joseph I found this in the Besorah of Yahusha by Lew White. I personally use the Names YAHUAH and YAHUSHA.
I found that the Mesoretes did a lot to divert anyone using the correct Name.
    The Father’s Name
Now let’s examine the pronunciation of the Father’s Name. The 1st century
writer called “Josephus” tells us that the Name consists of “four vowels”.
Commonly we see the Name in encyclopedias as YHWH. These vowel-letters stand for the Hebrew letters: Yod, Hay, Waw/Vav (or Uau) and Hay. The
Yod is the same as our letter “Y.” The Hay is the same as the letter “H” and
the Waw/Vav (Uau) is often represented as the “double u”, but is essentially
the sound of “oo.” The letter “Hay” appears as the second and fourth letter.
The Assyrians heard and transcribed the proper transliteration of our Father’s
Name as Ya-u-a (Yahuah). Having lived with the Israelites who had been
taken into captivity by the Assyrians, their transliteration is then creditable.
The state of “IOWA” is said to be based on the Name, handed-down through
the native Americans. These tribes were remnants of the explorers sent by
Solomon to establish colonies and mine copper, tin, silver, iron and gold.
Concerning Josephus, the frst century historian, we read in his book
Josephus Complete Works, p. 556, that he had observed the priestly headpiece. On this headpiece the Father’s Name consisted of four vowels. The
frst two vowel-letters are “Yod Hay” and according to Strong’s #H3050 it is
pronounced as “Yah.” We fnd an example of this shortened, poetic form of
Yahuah’s Name in Psalms 68:4. We can see these letters are vowels even as
they are used in English. When we say “Y” we can hear the “i” sound. When
we pronounce the “H,” we can hear the “a” sound because the “h” is silent,
    as seen with Sarah.
Now we come to the third vowel-letter “Waw/Vav (Uau).” The “Uau” is the
vowel-letter sound “oo.” It is not pronounced as the consonant “W”, since
the Hebrew alef beth does not have a letter to correspond to our “W”. The
letter “W” frst appeared in the 13th century. It should not be thought of as a
“double” anything; t’s simply a “U”. So now we have two syllables
“YaH + U.” The fourth letter of the Name is the vowel-letter “Hay.”
Some believe that the ending of Yahuah’s Name has an “ah” and others Aeh.
But the Tribe of “Yahudah” gives us a signifcant clue. The Name15
“YAHUDAH” is spelled: Yod-Hay-Uau-Daleth-Hay. If we remove the
“Daleth” which is a “D,” we fnd the four letters, Yod-Hay-Uau-Hay.
    YAHUDAH – D = YAHUAH.
Is it possible to fnd this truth in the Greek? Josephus (Flavius Yusef, 37-101
CE, Yahudi historian) confrms that our Father’s Name consisted of Greek
vowels “IAOUE” with the Uau having the “oo” sound which agrees with the
Assyrian pronunciation “Ya-u-a” and is pronounced “YAHUAH”.
    Strong’s #H3068 (6823 entries) renders Yahuah’s Name as “Yehovah”,which
is inaccurate. Checking word #H3050 we fnd that His shortened, poetic
name,“YaH”, refers us right back to #H3068, which which they rendered as
“Yeh…” “Yah” is correct; “Yeh” is incorrect. The “Yeh” spelling is the result
of the Masoretes, who used alternative vowels from another word (adonai) in
order to keep the Name of Yahuah concealed from the masses, thus
perpetuating the ban of pronouncing the Name aloud. The vowel-pointing by
the Masoretes cannot be trusted because of their intention to hide the Name of
our Father, HWHY. The vowels they used were intended to direct the reader
to say “ADONAI” instead of what was written – it was to “cue” the reader
to not pronounce the Name! In the Name Yahusha, “Ya/Yah” was changed
to “Ye/Yeh” which hides the connection with the Name of the Father,
    Exodus 23:21

    Thank you Joseph and Nehemiah.
Years ago when I came to the knowledge that Lord is not my Father’s Name I began a study to find His Name. After months of study I realized it was hopeless and that I always depend on man to teach me His Name and we all very well know that man is not trustworthy. I was left with no alternative but to ask my Father his Name directly. At that stage I didn’t even know/understood Yehshua’s promise in John 17:26 that He will teach future generations His Father’s Name (you need to study the greek text to totally comprehend this verse.)
    He told me that:
    1) I may know His Name
    2) I may use His Name
    3) His Name is specifically not yahweh, but His Name is Yehovah
I was stunned because I truly thought it to be yahweh, but since He gave me His Name directly as being Yehovah I obviously had no alternative but to believe Him because my Father does not lie.
(By this process he taught me to trust Him as my teacher first and foremost.)
He later gave me many confirmations that indeed His Name is Yehovah. The one dearest to my heart is one of the simplest kind, just count the consonants and vowels:
    Y-e-h-o-v-a-h is 7, His number.
y-a-h-w-e-h is 6 and we all know who’s number this is.
No way that The Creator Of All would have missed this.
Now we must know that there are plenty other’s who’s god really is yahweh and they will surely stone you for this revelation among others you previously made, but we must stick to the truth as you guys does.
Yeshua said that he comes in the Name of His Father and the people of His time on earth (but also us today) does not accept Him, but when another one come in his own name, that one we will accept. Now the christian world and most of the Jewish world at least is being prepared to accept yahweh (the wrong one that will come first) before the return of Yehovshua.
Now also you can see why (Jesus) Yehovshua said He come in the Name of His Father. Yehov -shua = Yehovah-shua or Yehovah Saves. See Zechariah 6 and the name of Joshua Zech6:11 in the Hebrew.
May Yehovah bless you and also teach you the full Name of His Son.

Biblical teachings emphasize repeatedly that God sees and hears “the Heart” (the thoughts) first and foremost; and then, the “according acts” (the results); and lastly, “the spoken or written word” (the reflection) in order of importance according to His ordained immutable laws of cause and effect.
Because God’s laws are immutable to man… meaning we can either use them, or mis-use them, but we cannot change them… they are therefore eternal and universal to the very nature of all things He has created.
Why then are we so bogged down in defining the pronunciation(s) of things that the Creator of all things places such little priority on, and even warns us of their deceitful nature.
Alas, the bible says its the nature of man to put last things first in the eyes of God, and it seems that we are in fact proving it herewith.

I have attended with Don Esposito’s group for two years in 2005 and 2006 before they kicked me out and banning anyone from even associating with me. I too have heard him make this claim about the High Priest saying the name of God as Yahweh. But I could not find the actual recording that Annomynous said was there.
So here is a Challenge for everyone and anyone.
Go to Israel and go to the Kotel on Yom Kippur and listen to the name the Priest says out loud. Record it and present it here. I do not want you telling me what he is saying. I want to hear what the High Priest says is the name of God. So record it and let us all hear it.

This is for the person who adked when you were goibg to convert Nahemiah. If they believe John 1:1 they would know that is not necessary. The Jews believe the Word that became flesh more than we do!

I read every post just to see if I can find some new information. I have been searching what HIS NAME is, since I started studying and memorizing the Hebrew “.aleph-bet”. I could see the NAME in all the Aramaic and Hebrew text, but not in English. I was very curious as to why this was so. We were never taught to recognize it in English because the teachers has no idea what the were saying when the read it in the contracted form.
I read and listened to Nehem-iah’s books and speeches and listened to his explanation; after all he is a “scholar”. I discovered that what is called “modern Hebrew”, is actually Aramaic Square Script. The Book of Daniel was started in Paleo Hebrew, then switched to Aramaic when Daniel was in the Babylonian Captivity.
The Sixth letter in the “aleph-bet” is called a “waw” in Hebrew and in Aramaic it is called a “vav” as one of the posters pointed out. So the tetragrammaton is YHWH in Hebrew, and YHVH in Aramaic.
The original Hebrew was in pictograph, which is what Moshe/Moses wrote in. As the letters evolved into different shapes they were always called by the same name, that is, until we go into Aramaic Square Script. In both Hebrew and Aramaic, the Sixth letter doubled as the vowels “O” and “U”. Notice one other thing, the spelling “Mose-s” is a perfect transliteration of the Hebrew “Moshe”. the Greeks don’t have an “sh” sound, so just use an “s” and it is pronounced as “mo’say-s” with the masculine “s” on the end. All Greek male names end with an “s” to denote masculine gender.
So the Hebrew “mo’shay” is the Greek “mo’say” in pronunciation.
The Greeks were very good at TRANSliterating the names. Transliteration is capturing the phonetic sound of a name and using your own alphabet, to capture the sound of the name. Take “nehemiah’s” name for example, that’s the Greek spelling, which is transliterated into English. The same for “Elias”, “Zecarias” and “Jeremias”. If you notice, the “S” on the end is the Greek masculine gender. The other two letters “ia” is “YH” in Hebrew and Aramaic. We recognize it when we say the Hebrew “hallelu-YaH”, which means “Praise You YaH”.
One poster mentioned the Greek spelling of the Creators NAME as “IA”OU”E or IAOUE. The “OU” is a Greek diphthong used to capture the sound of the Sixth letter. The Greek was quoting a Samaritan who spoke Paleo Hebrew (and they still do today). That means what the Greek was quoting was the “waw” or the sound of the “waw”. In other words, was quoting the sound of YHWH. I know Joseph can pronounce these letters because he is French. Notice the first two letters “IA”. We in English would pronounce this as (eye’ah) like in “Elias” or (ee’lie’as). The Greeks would pronounce this as (el’ee’as) taken from the Hebrew or Aramaic as (El’ee’yah) or Eli-YaH which means “My Powerful Authority YaH”. This is ?? in Aramaic Square Script.
We are fortunate to have a Prime Minister in Israel known as Benjamin Netanyahu. The last letters in Netan-yahu is the three letters in the tetragrammaton YHW-H. YHW is pronounced as YaHU.
Nehemia Gordon agrees, if it is on the end of a name it is YaHU. If those same three letters ??? are in front of a name, it is the pronounced as YeHO. There is a street in Israel where the market is, by the name Ben YeHUdah. We know this as JU-dah in English It is not YeHOdah. The same three letters in “Netan-YaHU” as a suffix is YeHUdah as a prefix.
Nehem-YeHO Gordon will tell us that the vowels in YeHoVaH are not from the word “adonai” as one of the posters stated. All you have to do is listen to this following teacher and see if you will agree……
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYO8it0hxyk
When Nehemiah Gordon asked his Rabbi how to pronounce “the Name”, he didn’t get a direct answer and even the word “yihyeh” was mentioned. This is a legitamate word found in the First Commandment….
    Lo yih’yeh le’kha e’lo’him a’hhey’rim al pa’nai
Not exist to you elohim others upon faces me.
    This is translated as …
You shall have no other gods before me.
The word (yihyeh) is the causative form of YHWH which means EXIST.
One more thing, the Catholic Church has banned the NAME Yahweh again, as more and more people are searching for the pronunciation and started using Yahweh in their hymns. Here is the article from the Catholic Church…..
    https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/yahweh_not_to_be_used_in_liturgy_songs_and_prayers_cardinal_arinze_says
So the Greeks have IA as the contracted form and IAOUE for the pronunciation in transliteration for YaHWeH
Benjamin Netan-YaHU with the three letters of the Tetragrammaton and it’s pronunciation YaHU for ??? .
Well what is HIS Son’s Name? It is the last word in [Numbers 13:16]…..
    http://www.hebrewoldtestament.com/B04C013.htm#V16
If you look in your Strong’s Concordance under H3091 you will see the Hebrew YaHUsha ????? pronunciation and YaHUshua ?????? in the Aramaic pronunciation.
Just in case you didn’t know, YaHWeH took HIS NAME out of the mouths of the “Jews”/YaHUdim in Egypt that refused to stop the worship of the Queen of Heaven…. [Yirm?-YaH/Jeremiah 44:26].
When the letter “J” was invented in the 1500’s, it had the same phonetic sound as the capital letter ” i ” or “Y”. It then morphed into the soft “g” we are familiar with today.
This is some of the history.

I am a non-Jew who worked at an Orthodox Jewish school. The head rabbi of the shul across the street from the school was looking at my copy of the Aleppo Codex. When he got to the name of God, he spoke it as Yehovah. I was confused because the tradition at the school was to say Hashem whenever saying the name of God. So, I asked another rabbi and he told me that every kid in the school knows the name is Yehovah but that they used the term Hashem out of tradition.
