Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom to the Royal Family of Yehovah,

Pray for Our Brethren in Prison

I am asking you brethren to begin to pray for each other and and al of our extended brethren.

I have just been told by the sister who takes care of our Prison Ministry and keeps me informed about it communicates to those inmates on my behalf that one of the prisons in which two of our brethren are being housed was hit by a tornado on Sunday.

Hundreds of inmates from tornado-damaged SC prison will be housed in Pennsylvania

By John Beauge | Special to PennLive
LEWISBURG – At least 900 inmates will be transferred from a tornado-damaged prison in South Carolina to the Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary, a union official says.

The medium-security prison in Estill, located almost 100 miles west of Charleston, was damaged Monday morning by a tornado, forcing the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to make the move, Andrew Kline, president of Local 148 of the American Federal of Government Employees at Lewisburg, said Tuesday.

He did not know when the transfer would begin but said he anticipates it will be soon. The prisoners will have to be quarantined for 14 days as a precaution against COVID-19, he said.

The quarantine will have to be two to a cell because with the current 179 prisoners, Lewisburg will have approximately 1,100 inmates, Kline said.

Here is the note I was sent.

Just wanted to update you. We hadn’t heard from Mike for about a week now and thought it was because of the Corona virus quarantine at the prison but found out that his section of the prison was hit by a tornado this past Sunday and they moved all of the inmates to Pennsylvania. No one at the Estill, SC prison was hurt but I guess the building sustained enough damage that they had to relocate the inmates. We were never notified but found out by accident today when we were researching if there were any virus cases at the Estill prison. So now we are just waiting to hear from Mike and hopefully soon. On another note, I don’t think Keith was moved because he might be in a different section. They still have him listed in Estill.

And to let you know brethren, Michael reached out to us a number of years ago and has been studying the Sabbatical and Jubilee year information 24/7. He then began to teach it and the Holy Days and the Sabbath to the other inmates. I did not know, but Keith was I think one who was taught by Michael. I originally thought he was in another prison all together. But they have been teaching others and are always eager to know when the Holy Days are so they can get the special permission to keep them at the proper times.

I do ask you to keep them in your prayers now and as well because of the COVID 19 that has entered their prison as well.

I am also getting prayer requests from brethren who have family members that are nurses and doctors who are being sent to the front lines in the heavier hit areas of their countries. We ask that you keep those family members and our brethren who are serving on these front lines safe from this curse Yehovah has sent on the entire world.

I am asking you all to pray for each other and to not stop. And to understand just how powerful your prayers are.

Rev 8:3  And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer. And many incenses were given to him, so that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints on the golden altar before the throne.

Rev 8:4  And the smoke of the incense which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God from the angel’s hand.

Rev 8:5  And the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar, and cast it into the earth. And voices and thunderings and lightnings and an earthquake occurred.

In fact the teaching this Sabbath at our zoom meeting is going to be about prayer. I hope you all can join us.

On Line Shabbat Meeting

We have been inviting different people to come and teach each week from around the world. We have had a brother from Canada, and then Netherlands, and this week our speaker is coming all the way from Uruguay to teach us about prayers. Then after that if I there is time I will do a teaching on a couple of Hebrew words.

Come for the fellowship and to learn something and to encourage each other as we help others to teach Torah to the Nations. I am impressed by the subjects that others are going to teach about each week and into the future.

Joseph Dumond is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Ad Campaigns

I wanted to update you on the results of our advertising campaigns. We have two on the go right now.

Last August 2019 we began an advertising campaign with the NRB, (National Religious Broadcasters)(you can see our ad by clicking on the link) and at the same time we made an application to have floor space so we could host a booth at the convention in Nashville this past February 2020. We got the banner made and delivered. but the NRB decided to vote against our application. But we let the heads run for the year anyway.

This campaign cost $3500 US for the year. Here are the results until the end of March 2020. The campaign continues to run until the end of July.

As you can see we did get some exposure to some of the people who subscribe to this national broadcasting outfit. I am not able to tell you how many clicked through to the web site and subscribed to the News Letter or how many bought the two books we are offering. The 2300 Days of Hell and IT Was A Riddle Not a Command. But I do know we have now some exposure to them.

We also bought ad space at the Church Network and Cross Tv.  This campaign cost us $3500 US and started April 1st, 2020. There was some confusion as to where our ad was to be placed which is now being sorted out.

But here are the results of the first week.

Advertiser Site Impressions Clicks CTR
Sightedmoon.com cmcweb – Cross Media Corporation – MultiWeb 2820 20 0.71%
Sightedmoon.com NACBAweb – The Church Network – MultiWeb 196 2 1.02%

Again we do not know how many of these impressions turn into book sales. It is our hopes to get our books into the hands of these Christian groups so that they can begin the process of learning about the Sabbath Holy Days and Sabbatical years and how they reveal end time prophecy. they can do this in the privacy of their own homes and study on their own.

That is why we are doing the advertising. To help find others Yehovah is calling to learn about His truths.

Pauline has spent weeks designing our ads and has had to adjust them to fit the guidelines of the company we are working with. I would like to show you what she was working on last fall. The first two are what are called skyscraper ads.

The next two are known as box ads for smaller placements.

And these last two are our banner ads

Each ad had its own landing page and from there the viewer could go to order the respective book once they learned more about it.

Promotional 2300 Days of Hell

Promotion – It was a Riddle Not a Command

James, Ross, Pauline and I spent a lot of time trying to get the wording and the design right to help people to want to get the books. We did the best we could.

We do have a continuous number of new people who are finding the web site and the books and are now reading them. Some of them do write in like the new person below.

I still have a lot to learn from your 2300 days in hell, and Remembering The Sabbatical Years of 2016. your style of teaching has gotten me very interested, the wealth of information you have put out and how it ties everything together amazes me. you have really helped bring things alive for me. I have enjoyed your charts and how you have added all the highlights of major events. You were the first teacher I found teaching about the jubilee and sabbatical cycles. Please forgive me if i get some of the terminology wrong this is all so new to me. I can’t wait to get more in depth and learn more of Gods ways. Again I want to Thank You for your hard work in putting all this information together. I hope to catch some of your online meetings. I also enjoy the news letters your web site puts out seems like everyday i am learning more new and Amazing things ! Thanks so much Mr. Dumond for replying back. I look forward to the days ahead and increasing my knowledge, I’m sure i’ll have plenty of questions.

And another from this man;

Hi Josef

thanks you so much for the effort you have put int revealing the truth of God’s Word. I have just read another of your books and am trying to share this with as many as will listen

There is so much I also need to learn and  it has been exciting to see many misconceptions and false hoods being stripped off my life and understanding.

I am humbled as I look in the mirror and see many things I felt were not correct that I had learnt and even supported but now am rejoicing that truth is prevailing

It is one step at a time in this amazing time period we are living in

May God strengthen you and walk with you

Kind Regards

David

Six Experts Share Their Thoughts about the End Times

Last week I was invited to join this group of men to discuss end time Prophecy. I was given a zoom meeting account that all of you could have attended and listen in as the 6 of us talked. It was while I was in the meeting that I was told they were not going to open it up for the public. Then Doug Hamp said he had people who wanted to listen in so they shut down our meeting and moved it to his site. I then sent out an invitation quickly to some of you and hoped you all could share it. That turned out to be the link for the speakers and not the public. So Doug was kicking people out of it. I never got the right link, but some of you were able to watch it live.

I do apologize for the confusion. Doug has asked me to come back on this Tuesday for a one on one discussion about what we are talking about in relation to the Jubilee message. And Scott is working on having me do more talks with Doug Kreiger and John Haller. I do not know when those times will be yet.

Let me share with you some of the people that we are sharing with and who they are that we are talking to.

The next man that was in the group was John Haller of The Fellowship Bible Chapel and who also puts out the Prhophecy Update on youtube. Now I did not know any of these people before this meeting. I think for me right now the best way to describe John is to have you watch his teaching from last Sunday April 12, 2020.
Much of this has been set up by Scott Harwell who is a Laywer whose web site is graftingtheology.org and 7000yearplan.com.
And I must also say that this is also a result of some of you talking to others about the message we teach here at sightedmoon.com. So thank you.

Shanah

Out of the discussion above in the video came this dominant view for dismissing the things I am saying. And people once they get into that rut can’t get out until they actually sit down and do a study on it. Most never do.

As we count the omer, I thought it would be good to address these two sticking points head on and then to make a video about them. So this is going to be the notes I have for each of the two points of objection put forward.

The word Shanah

In Genesis 6:3 it states;

Gen 6:3  And Jehovah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, in his erring; he is flesh. Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

The word Shanah is translated as years but it also can mean something else. But all the enterpreters use only the one translation and say it is the word years.

sha?neh / sha?na?h

BDB Definition:

1) year

1a) as division of time

1b) as measure of time

1c) as indication of age

1d) a lifetime (of years of life)

Part of Speech: noun feminine

H8141   (Strong)

sha?neh    sha?na?h

shaw-neh’, shaw-naw’

(The first form being in plural only, the second form being feminine); from H8138; a year (as a revolution of time): –    + whole age, X long, + old, year (X -ly).

H8138

sha?na?h

shaw-naw’

A primitive root; to fold, that is, duplicate (literally or figuratively (); by implication to transmute(transitively or intransitively): – do (speak, strike) again, alter, double, (be given to) change, disguise, (be) diverse, pervert, prefer, repeat, return, do the second time.

What both Strongs and Brown-Driver-Briggs are saying is that an acceptable understanding of the word they said means years is also the phrase;

1a) as division of time

1b) as measure of time

from H8138; a year (as a revolution of time)

In questioning my use of the phrase revolution of time instead of the word year Dr. Doug Hamp sent me the following two authorities or commentaries on this part of the scripture in question.

Targum Onkelos

And the Lord said, This evil generation shall not stand before me for ever, because they are flesh, and their works are evil. A term (or length) will I give them, an hundred and twenty years, if they may be converted.

Here is Targum Jonathan:

[JERUSALEM. And the Word of the Lord said, The generations which are to arise shall not be judged after (the manner of) the generation of the deluge, (which is) to be destroyed, and exterminated, and finally blotted out. Have I not imparted My Spirit to the sons of men, because they are flesh, that they may work good works? But they do works of evil. Behold, I have given them a prolongment of a hundred and twenty years, that they may work repentance; but they have not done it.]

Dr. Doug Hamp then commented;

From these two texts, it seems they understood the 120 to be how long before sending the flood…To just reassign it to be a “period of time” is tough to justify from the Hebrew word…but I am open to seeing a source that provides that.

I am not able to provide a source as Dr. Hamp would like. I do provide an example from the scriptures themselves as my justification for doing this.

Gen 5:32  And Noah was five hundred years old. And Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Many assume that Shem was 500 years old from this statement alone.

After that statement in 5:32 which is the last one then comes the following verses in Gen 6:3.

Increasing Corruption on Earth
Gen 6:1  And it happened, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and when daughters were born to them,

Gen 6:2  the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were good. And they took wives for themselves from all whom they chose.

Gen 6:3  And Jehovah said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, in his erring; he is flesh. Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

What are these three verse talking about? Are they connected to the Flood? Yet many have assumed they are in fact about the flood.

After verse it says,

Gen 6:4  There were giants in the earth in those days. And also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore to them, they were mighty men who existed of old, men of renown.

Gen 6:5  And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Gen 6:6  And Jehovah repented that He had made man on the earth, and He was angry to His heart.

Gen 6:7  And Jehovah said, I will destroy man whom I have created, from the face of the earth, both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air. For I repent that I have made them.

Gen 6:8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah.

What we are being told here is the history of Mankind since the creation of Adam up until in verse 8 we are told that Noah found graces before Yehovah.

Then again we are told in Gen 6:10 that Noah had fathered his three sons. Not just one or two but all three.

Noah and the Flood

Gen 6:9  These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

Gen 6:10  And Noah fathered three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Gen 6:11  The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Gen 6:12  And God looked upon the earth. And, behold, it was corrupted! For all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.

Gen 6:13  And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Gen 6:14  Make an ark of cyprus timbers. You shall make rooms in the ark. And you shall pitch it inside and outside with pitch.

What we have now read in Chapter 6 is a history of mankind from Adam up until this time now when Yehovah is about to destroy the earth. But before Noah found grace, Yehovah already said

My spirit shall not always strive with man, in his erring; he is flesh. Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

This was spoken before Noah’s time. This was determined long before the flood. Yehovah did not decide this just before the flood.

Read what is said about Shem in

Gen 11:10  These are the generations of Shem. Shem was a hundred years old and fathered Arpachshad two years after the flood.

In order for Shem to be part of the building of the Ark He was born 98 years before the flood took place

This then makes Noah 502 years old when Shem was born. He was around 500 when Japheth and Ham were born.

And the time from when Noah was told to build the ark with his three boys was at the very most only 98 years and not the 120 that most people assume. Yehovah was not talking about the 120 years left to warn humanity until the flood. Nor was He telling us that men would only live to be 120, which men do not do now. After the flood they might have for a short while, but the average age has never been about 120 with an equally amount of those who live past that number as there are who die before it.

If you apply this 120 to the flood then the time from when this was told was actually 98 years not 120.

Again I am saying this 120 Shanah is 120 cycles of time and not 120 years per say.

The reason this is important to establish as we have no other reason in the bible to assume that there are going to be 120 Jubilee Cycle unless we have this statement in Gen 6:3 as our defining statement.

There were 120 priests blowing trumpets at the dedication of Solomon’s Temple, when the Spirit of Yehovah filled that Temple.

2Ch 5:12  And the Levitical singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brothers, being clothed in white linen, having cymbals and with harps and lyres, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets,

There were 120 disciples in the upper room when the Peter addressed them concerning Judas

Act 1:15  And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples and said, (the number of names together was about a hundred and twenty,).

So this 120 has something significant about it.

Again I am claiming that a perfectly legitimate translation of the word in Hebrew pronounced Shanah is the world cycles of time instead of Years. It can mean both. But in Gen 6:3 it did not mean years but revolutions of time.

And I have now just shown you that this Gen 6:3 was spoken about mankind since Adam and not just 120 years before the flood.

Let me use another example

Gen 2:17  but you shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

When Yehovah says, “For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” would have you thinking about immediate death. However, that is not what happened. Yehovah was not referring to a twenty four hour period of time, but a millennial period of time.

If the word Shanah must be years then the word Yom which means day, must mean the 24 hour day. But in this case it does not.

2 Pe 3:8  But, beloved, let not this one thing be hidden from you, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Adam never lived one complete millennium (day) whether that is 980 or 1000 we have not yet addressed.

In fact, none of Adams descendants lived to see their one thousandth birthday nor their 980th birthday. Methusalah lived to be the oldest man in History at 969 years of age.

So when Yehovah said, “For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die., He was referring to one thousand years or the 980 years period of time. Adam did not die that same day that he ate of the forbidden fruit. Instead, he lived up to 930 years of age, just short of reaching that millennial day.

Genesis 5:5 reads, “And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.”

We have a very clear and obvious example right here in Genesis that the word “Day” Yom in Hebrew, does not necessarily mean a 24 hour period of time. Having said that I could just as easily say and understand that the word Shanah in Hebrew does not only mean a year but that it could very well mean cycles of time.

Here is something else to think about. We have already mentioned that the 120 years are not directly connected to the life of Noah since the scriptures only give a 98 to 100 year account of his life before the flood. However, Gen 6:3 is more directly tied to Adam. In fact, the one hundred twenty cycles of time or jubilees start with Adam and the creation. It says so right in the Gen 6:3. Lets read it again.

In Genesis 6:3 the word ‘man’ is from the Hebrew adam (H120 in the Strongs Hebrew and Greek dictionaries). Why is the word Adam then translated to be man and not left as Adam? It is the interpreter who made the call. So the verse is more likely referring to Adam since all mankind originated from him and the one hundred twenty cycles of time is inclusive of all generations beginning with Adam.

The word for man is

H120   (Brown-Driver-Briggs)

‘a?da?m

BDB Definition:

1) man, mankind

1a) man, human being

1b) man, mankind (much more frequently intended sense in OT)

1c) Adam, first man

1d) city in Jordan valley

So is this verse saying that God is not always going to strive with Adam?

No we understand the word to mean both Adam and or mankind.

In the exact same understanding we know that the word Shanah can also mean cycles of time and not just Years?

Context is King. And in proper context verses 3 of Gen 6 is speaking of all mankind from Adam up until this time.

As a Thousand Years

What Does This Mean?

What is implied when Peter writes, “one day is like a thousand years” (II Peter 3:8)? Is this a literal (1,000) years? We have been taught to believe that. I, for one, have never questioned it before. We also have to determine the context and how broadly we can apply it. This study started out as a quick look-up of this phrase but, as I studied, I realized that it is a key to understanding some of the Bible prophecies.

3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of  creation.” 5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of YHVH the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. 7 But by His Word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the Day of Judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with YHVH one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9 YHVH is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 10 But the day of YHVH will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. (II Peter 3:3-10)

The discussion in this passage is about the coming of the Messiah at the end of the age. People were expecting it to be in their time. Since it has not occurred yet; they are now mocking it. A. Robertson explains it well when he says:

Peter applies the language of Psalm 90:4 about the eternity of YHVH and shortness of human life to ‘the impatience of human expectations’ (Bigg) about the Second Coming of Christ. ‘The Day of Judgment’ is at hand (I Peter 4:7). It may come tomorrow; but what is tomorrow? What does YHVH mean by a day? It may be a thousand years. Precisely the same argument applies to those who argue for a literal interpretation of the thousand year (timeframe) mentioned in Revelation 20:4-6. It may be a day or a day may be a thousand years. YHVH’s clock does not run by our timepieces. The scoffers scoff ignorantly.120

To explain it further, we must look at the meaning of the word “like.” The Greek word “hos” means an approximation of time.

4.  hos (??, 5613) usually means “as.” Used with numerals it signifies “about,” (e.g., Mark 5:13, 8:9; John 1:40, 6:19, 11:18; Acts 1:15; Revelation 8:1).

5.  hosei (????, 5616), “as if,” before numerals, denotes “about, nearly, something like,” with perhaps an indication of greater indefiniteness than No. 4 (e.g., Matthew 14:21;

Luke 3:23, 9:14, 28; Acts 2:41; with a measure of space, Luke 22:41, “about a stone’s cast.” See LIKE.121

If we look at all the other passages where this word was used with numerals it was translated as “about.”

(I do not include John 1:40 in the examples below, as it uses a different Greek word “heis”).

13 Y’shua gave them permission. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, about (hos) two thousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea. (Mark 5:13)

9 About (hos) four thousand were there; and He sent them away. (Mark 8:9)

19 Then, when they had rowed about (hos) three or four miles, they saw Y’shua walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened. (John 6:19)

18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about (hos) two miles off. (John 11:18)

15 At this time Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren [a gathering of about (hosei) one hundred and twenty persons was there together]. (Acts 1:15)

1 When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about (hos) half an hour. (Revelation 8:1)

10 But the day of YHVH will come like (hos) a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. (II Peter 3:10)

I have included the last passage to illustrate to you that the word “like” (hos), is meant as a comparative phrase. It does not mean that Y’shua will literally come as a thief to steal, but it means that He will come unexpectedly. The phrase “as a thousand years” is equally not meant in a literal sense. It alludes to a time period, likened to “a thousand years.” There is a similar passage comparing “a thousand years” with a day in (the following Psalm):

4 For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it passes by, or as a watch in the night. 5 You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep; in the morning they are like grass which sprouts anew. 6 In the morning it flourishes and sprouts anew; toward evening it fades and withers away. (Psalm 90:4-6)

In this passage “a thousand years” is compared to two things:

ï       Yesterday

ï       A Night Watch

Yesterday

919 ??? ???  ? (???·môl): adv.; Strong’s 865; TWOT 2521—1. LN 67.201–67.208 yesterday,

[i.e., the day before today (Psalm 90:4+)], see also 9453; 2. LN 67.17–67.64 lately, before, heretofore, [i.e., a period of time prior to another time, either short or long (Isaiah

30:33; Micah 2:8+)]; 3. LN 67.17–67.64 unit: ??? ???  ?

??? ??? ?

(???·môl šil·šôm) formerly,

before, in the past, i.e., formally, yesterday and day before, [i.e., pertaining to a point in time prior to another time (I Samuel 4:7, 10:11, 14:21, 19:7+)]; 4. LN 67.17–67.64 unit:

??? ??? ???  ?

??? ??? ??? ?

(g?m ???·môl g?m šil·šôm) formerly, before, in the past, [i.e., formally,

yesterday and day before, i.e., pertaining to a point in time prior to another time (II Samuel 5:2+)]122

The word “yesterday” can refer to either a period of time prior to another time (short or long), or to the past.

A Night Watch

A watch in the night was approximately four hours (Jude 7:19 refers to a middle watch, suggesting three periods). Such a portion of the night, when man sleeps, is brief.123

We can conclude the same for this passage in Psalms as for the passage in II Peter. These time periods do not have to be a literal (1,000) years, although (they) could be.

How Do We Apply This To the Interpretation of Bible Prophecy?

In order for us to (further) apply this prophetic principle of “one day is like a thousand years,” we must first find proof in Scripture. In the second book of Genesis, we (find) a good example of the prophetic application and fulfillment of this principle:

17 “… but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” (Genesis 2:17)

It is no coincidence that those who lived before The Flood died just short of 1,000 years of age. Thus, figuratively speaking, Adam and all his offspring before The Flood, died within a “day”— that is, within (1,000) years.124

Can we assume that whenever the word “day” is used, it could mean (1,000) years? I don’t think so. It is more complex than that. As always, context is king when interpreting Scripture. Let’s look at some verses (that better) illustrate this point.

The Scripture says that the world was created in six days. Was the world actually created in 6,000 years? I would not go so far as to say that. Plants were created before the sun and (wouldn’t) be able to survive for 1,000 years without photosynthesis. Therefore, I support a literal six-day creation.

Another example would be the time Y’shua spent in the grave. Those were a literal three days and three nights. We can find many more examples.

Both verses Psalm 90 and II Peter 3 speak about the return of our Messiah. Therefore, we can conclude: the phrase “one day is like a thousand years” can only be applied in a prophetic context.

It is often said that Genesis 6:3 points to a prophetic time period. It refers to the period of man on earth before Y’shua returns. The calculation is as follows:

120 x 50 = 6,000

The ‘50’ refers to the number of years (in) a Jubilee Cycle.

3 Then YHVH said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” (Genesis 6:3)

The (main) problem (with this) is a Jubilee Cycle is, (in truth), only forty-nine years. Shall we investigate this further?

How Long Is A Jubilee?

10 “You shall thus consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim a release through the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you, and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family. 11You shall have the fiftieth year as a Jubilee; you shall not sow, nor reap its aftergrowth, nor gather in from its untrimmed vines.” (Leviticus 25:10-11)

From the above Scripture, clearly the fiftieth year is the Jubilee. Why do I say forty-nine years?

How Do We Calculate A Jubilee?

We calculate the Jubilee Year in the same way we calculate the fifty days for Shavuot.

15 “You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete  Sabbaths. 16 You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall present a new grain offering to YHVH.” (Leviticus 23:15-16)

ï       We are to count from the day after the weekly Sabbath—the first day of the week.

ï       There shall be seven complete Sabbaths.

ï       You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath—the first day of the week.

It is very important to follow the instructions carefully. We are to commence counting on the first day of the week and end the count on the first day of the week. Take note: the fiftieth day is also the first day of the weekly cycle. This is a pattern for us for the calculation of the Jubilee Years. Thus, the fiftieth year—the Jubilee Year—is also the first year of the next Sabbatical Cycle. Don’t you think it’s awesome to see how YHVH uses the same pattern?

I would just like to add this for clarification: If a Jubilee Cycle is fifty years, then between the last year of the first cycle and the first Sabbatical Year of the next cycle, (that) would (constitute a total of) eight years to (make) a Jubilee Year. This cannot be as we are told in Scripture that a Sabbath Cycle is to be seven years.

How Do We Apply All We Have Learned In This Study?

We have just proven from Scripture the Jubilee Cycle is forty-nine years instead of fifty years. We also have the prophetic Scripture in Genesis 6:3. If we apply what we have learned, our calculation of prophetic years would be as follows:

120 x 49 = 5,880

We can conclude in saying that, “(a) day is like 980 years.”

12 So teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom. 13 Do return, O YHVH; how long will it be? And be sorry for Your servants. (Psalm 90:12-13)

We can only ask YHVH for His wisdom to live our lives according to His plan. Time is short. We have to number our days.

Some people will tell you that the Jubilee Cycles are spaced precisely fifty years apart from one to another. They are convinced that every fifty years is a Jubilee. And as such, they also think that all you have to do is count in increments of fifty.

But is this right? And if so, how do we prove or disprove it?

Each year we have an annual reminder of how to count the Sabbatical and Jubilee Years. It is during this annual reminder that we are reminded exactly where we are in the Jubilee Cycle. This annual reminder is called Shavuot (aka, Pentecost, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Shabua). Shabua is Hebrew for seven and there are seven days in a week.

15 And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you shall count for yourselves: seven completed Sabbaths. 16 Until the morrow after the seventh Sabbath you count fifty days, then you shall bring a new grain offering to Yehovah. (Leviticus 23:15-16)

These two verses command us to count seven weeks from the time that the omer, the new barley offering, was brought to the Temple, (i.e., from the Sunday after the weekly Sabbath).

Inasmuch and insofar as we are to count the Omer to Pentecost, we are commanded in Leviticus 25 in the very same way to count to the Jubilee Year. Compare the two sections in scripture and see.

  • “Speak to the children of Yisra’?l, and you shall say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest.” (Leviticus 23:10)
  • “And he shall wave the sheaf before Yehovah, for your acceptance. On the morrow after the Sabbath the priest waves it.” (Leviticus 23:11)
  • “And from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you shall count for yourselves: seven completed Sabbaths.” (Leviticus 23:15)
  • “Until the morrow after the seventh Sabbath you count fifty days, then you shall bring a new grain offering to Yehovah.” (Leviticus 23:16)

The first Wave Offering of barley is made on the Sunday during the Days of Unleavened Bread. The second Wave Offering of two leavened loaves is then made fifty days later and is called Shavuot and it too, is on a Sunday; the first day of the week.

Now let’s read about the Sabbatical and Jubilee Years and compare. Keep in mind what I have already shown you in Exodus:

10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof: 11 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy olive yard. 12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed. (Exodus 23:10-12)

Right here Yehovah is showing you that the way you count for the weekly Sabbath, which is always, without exception, on the seventh day, you also count for the Sabbatical Years, which is always, without exception, on the seventh year—the former occurring every seven days and the latter occurring every seven years, but both in multiples of seven.

3 “Six years you sow your field, and six years you prune your vineyard, and gather in its fruit, 4 but in the seventh year the land is to have a Sabbath of rest, a Sabbath to Yehovah. Do not sow your field and do not prune your vineyard.” (Leviticus 25:3-4)

The Sabbatical Year is just like the weekly Sabbath. It comes every Seventh Year, like clockwork and without a break.

8 “And you shall count seven Sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years. And the time of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years. 9 You shall then sound a ram’s horn to pass through on the tenth day of the seventh month, on the Day of Atonement cause a ram’s horn to pass through all your land. 10 And you shall set the fiftieth year apart, and proclaim release throughout all the land to all its inhabitants, it is a Jubilee for you. And each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you return to his clan. 11 The fiftieth year is a Jubilee to you. Do not sow, nor reap what grows of its own, nor gather from its unpruned vine. 12 It is a Jubilee, it is set-apart to you. Eat from the field its crops. 13 In the Year of this Jubilee let each one of you return to his possession. (Leviticus 25:8-13)

The Jubilee Year comes on the first year in the next count to seven or the first year in the count to the next Sabbatical Year. So we count like this:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7—which is the Sabbath Day and the Sabbatical Year, for they are identical.

And we repeat this seven times as we are commanded in both Leviticus 23 and 25:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 7
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 14
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 21
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 28
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 35
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 42
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 49

And as we then begin the count again toward the next Sabbath or the next Sabbatical Year we count ‘… 47, 48, 49, 50…’ Which is also the first year or ‘1,’ followed by ‘2, 3, 4…’ so that from one Sabbath or one Sabbatical Year to the next is just seven years. In the exact same context, Pentecost Sunday is the fiftieth day and also it is the first day of the week in our count toward the next weekly Sabbath.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 7
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 14
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 21
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 28
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 35
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 42
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 49
50, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 7

When people insert ‘50’ and then begin to count from ‘1’ after that, they errantly succeed in turning a seven-day week into an actual eight-day week, when it should only ever be seven:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 7
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 14
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 21
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 28
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 35
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 42
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 49
50, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Total of 8

Notice how it now is a total of eight and not seven. And yet, it should only total seven each week. So by counting ‘… 48, 49, 50, 1, 2…’ you have erred.

When you count from the Wave Offering of the barley to Pentecost it is called the counting of the Omer. You are to count each day up to the fiftieth day. We are to count the Omer as a reminder of where we are in the Jubilee Cycle. This is what we are doing right now. This Sabbath is the 35th day in the count. And this year is the 25th year in the count to the Jubilee Year in 2045.
