Choosing to be First Fruits of the Kingdom

Joseph F. Dumond

Isa 6:9-12 And He said, Go, and tell this people, You hear indeed, but do not understand; and seeing you see, but do not know. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, and be healed. Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation, and until Jehovah has moved men far away, and the desolation in the midst of the land is great.

Shabbat Shalom to the First Fruits of the Kingdom of Yehovah,

“Shavuot 2015 First Fruits”

To all the Saints keeping Shavuot this HIgh Day in 2015, Yehovah bless you as you continue to walk out the walk of the Kingdom that we all strive to be a part of.

I have just a few things to say.

You have been called to be one of the First Fruits in Yehovah’s Kingdom. How awesome that is, how unbelievable that He actually called you and me. We have spoken to you many times about the wedding we have been invited to attend. We also spoke of this wedding as a renewal of our vows in this weeks News Letter 5851-011.

But although you have been called, not all that hear come and not all that come are chosen.

Mat 22:12  And he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here without having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13  Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14  For many are called, but few chosen.

On this day of Shavuot when the First Fruits are presented to Yehovah, how will you be able to assure your part in that Kingdom? How will you be able to make sure you are one of the First Fruits?

As we have explained before these First Fruits are part of the first fruits that were raised at Passover when Yehshua came out of the grave, who then led a host of Captive with Him to Heaven on that Wave Sheaf day.

Mat 27:50  And crying again with a loud voice, Yeshua released His spirit. 51  And, behold! The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And the earth quaked, and the rocks were sheared, 52  and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep arose, 53  and coming out of the tomb after His resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

Shavuot is another wave offering of first fruits. The one that is to take place on this day in the near future. Watch our teaching on this.

We read in Revelation that there are only 144,000 places and that from each tribe there is only 12,000.

Rev 7:1  And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth so that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2  And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3  saying, Do not hurt the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4  And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousands, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel.

These 144,000 are going to come out of the Tribulation. And those 144,000 will be with our Redeemer forever.

Rev 14:1  And I looked, and lo, the Lamb stood on Mount Zion. And with Him were a hundred and forty-four thousands, having His Father’s name written in their foreheads. 2  And I heard a voice from Heaven, like the voice of many waters and like the voice of a great thunder. And I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps. 3  And they sang as it were a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. And no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousands who were redeemed from the earth. 4  These are those who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, as a firstfruit to God and to the Lamb. 5  And in their mouth was found no guile, for they were without blemish before the throne of God.

Notice it says these 144,000 are first fruits. But we also read in Rev 7 of an innumerable number of others Saints that also went through the Tribulation and are now in heaven.

Rev 7:9  After these things I looked, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues, stood before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palms in their hands. 10  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb. 11  And all the angels stood around the throne, and the elders, and the four living creatures, and they fell before the throne on their faces and worshiped God, 12  saying, Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever. Amen. 13  And one of the elders answered, saying to me, Who are these who are arrayed in white robes, and from where do they come? 14  And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are the ones who came out of the great tribulation and have washed their robes, and have whitened them in the blood of the Lamb. 15  Therefore they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple. And He sitting on the throne will dwell among them. 16  They will not hunger any more, nor thirst any more, nor will the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17  For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them and will lead them to the fountains of living waters. And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

When does all of this take place? On Shavuot the next wave offering of First Fruits.

1Co 15:50  And I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51  Behold, I speak a mystery to you; we shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed; 52  in a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed. 53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54  But when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and when this mortal shall put on immortality, then will take place the word that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. 55  O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?” 56  The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the Law.

1 Th 4:16  For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first. 17  Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord. 18  Therefore comfort one another with these words.

So how will you know if you are one of them? Will you be part of the First Fruits that are either raised from the dead or changed in an instant at His coming?

Many claim they are saved because they are in a certain group. Or because they believe in Yehshua or Jesus or God. Even the Demons believe in Yehshua so what is the difference between you and them?

Jas 2:14  My brothers, what profit is it if a man says he has faith and does not have works? Can faith save him? 15  If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16  and if one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, but you do not give them those things which are needful to the body, what good is it17  Even so, if it does not have works, faith is dead, being by itself. 18  But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith from my works. 19  You believe that there is one God, you do well; even the demons believe and tremble. 20  But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21  Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22  Do you see how faith worked with his works, and from the works faith was made complete? 23  And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God.” 24  You see then how a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25  And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she had received the messengers and had sent them out another way? 26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Some say that the keeping of the Sabbaths, the weekly Sabbath and the Holy Days and the Sabbatical years is works, but Yehovah says something else. He says the keeping of the Sabbath is a sign between us and Him.

Exo 31:13  Speak also to the sons of Israel, saying, Truly you shall keep My sabbaths. For it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, to know that I am Jehovah who sanctifies you. 14  You shall keep the Sabbath therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone that defiles it shall surely be put to death. For whoever does any work in it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 15  Six days may work be done, but on the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to Jehovah. Whoever does any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16  Therefore the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant. 17  It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever. For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed.

Deu 6:4  Hear, O, Israel. Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. 5  And you shall love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6  And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart. 7  And you shall carefully teach them to your sons, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8  And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

We are told in Revelation that we are sealed in our foreheads, the same place we are to bind the understanding of the Sabbaths. That is the way we think or plan on how we are going to keep the Sabbaths; the weekly, annual Holy Days and Sabbatical and Jubilee years. This is how we are sealed, this is how we are marked by Yehovah. It is an action that we must do in order to be marked by Yehovah’s sign. You cannot just give this one lip service, you must do them in order to be sealed, in order to have them written on our foreheads. The fact that so many are now being called is testimony to what we read in Revelation. Nuclear war is being held back until this process is completed.

Rev 7:3  saying, Do not hurt the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

I would suggest this Shavuot you read the entire book of James. It is very valuable.

What works are you doing? What fruits does your life produce?

We are told to bring our First Fruits and give them to Yehovah.

Exo 22:29  You shall not delay giving the fullness of your crops and juices of your vintage. You shall give the first-born of your sons to Me.

Exo 23:19  The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.

Deu 26:1  And it shall be, when you come into the land which Jehovah your God gives you for an inheritance, and possess it, and live in it, 2  you shall take of the first of all the fruit of the earth which you shall bring of your land that Jehovah your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket, and shall go to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose to place His name there. 3  And you shall go to the priest in those days, and say to him, I profess today to Jehovah your God that I have come into the land which Jehovah swore to our fathers to give us. 4  And the priest shall take the basket out of your hand and set it down before the altar of Jehovah your God. 5  And you shall speak and say before Jehovah your God, My father was a Syrian ready to perish. And he went down to Egypt, and stayed there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and many. 6  And the Egyptians ill-treated us, and afflicted us, and laid hard bondage on us. 7  And when we cried to Jehovah, the God of our fathers, Jehovah heard our voice and looked on our afflictions and our labor and our oppression. 8  And Jehovah brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fearful might, and with miracles and with wonders. 9  And He has brought us into this place, and has given us this land, a land that flows with milk and honey. 10  And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which You, O Jehovah, have given me. And you shall set it before Jehovah your God, and worship before Jehovah your God. 11  And you shall rejoice in all the good which Jehovah your God has given to you, and to your house; you, and the Levite, and the stranger in your midst.

Pro 3:9  Honor Jehovah with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10  and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine.

Many people excuse themselves from doing any of this. They say we are not in the land so we do not have to do it. Or there is no temple so we can’t do it.

In both cases they are declaring they won’t do it and will not obey Yehovah.

We are told in Deut that in order for us to return to the land of Israel we had to obey His laws while we are in the other lands He has driven us to, where it would be harder to do. And yet we are to do these commandments anyway. Putting our works and faith in the same basket and presenting both.

Deu 30:1  And it shall be when all these things have come on you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and when you shall call them to mind among all the nations where Jehovah your God has driven you, 2  and shall return to Jehovah your God and shall obey His voice according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, with all your heart, and with all your soul, 3  then Jehovah your God will turn your captivity. And He will have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the nations where Jehovah your God has scattered you. 4  If you are driven out into the outermost parts of the heavens, Jehovah your  God will gather you from there, and He will bring you from there. 5  And Jehovah your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. And He will do you good, and multiply you above your fathers. 6  And Jehovah your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your seed, to love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.

This Shavuot I will be taking some of my First Fruits and placing them in a basket. Rhubarb, swiss Chard, Onions and asparagus. It is a wicker basket with a 100% cotton liner. I will fill it with those things from my garden that have already grown this year. I will also decorate it with Lilacs and Hybiscus flowers that have also bloomed in my yard.

I will then take the basket to the Young Rabbi who teaches at a Messianic Synagogue that I have attended in the past.

This is not the temple. But I am going to show my faith by the works that I do.

In examining myself this Passover season when we remove the leaven from our lives and during the counting of the omer, as I continue to examine myself, I see that I have never given of my fruit of the ground, because I had no idea how to do this. Now I am going to do this even if it is imperfect by not being done at the Temple.

And we are told that when we do do this we are to rejoice.

Deu 16:9  You shall count seven weeks to yourselves. Begin to count the seven weeks from the time you began to put the sickle to the grain. 10  And you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to Jehovah your God with a measure of a free-will offering of your hand, which you shall give according as Jehovah your God has blessed you. 11  And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your slave girl, and the Levite inside your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, those among you, in the place which Jehovah your God has chosen to place His name there.

In the past many have said they will not tithe but will give the tithe of their crops, and they never do, being full of hot air. We are not talking about tithes here. But many people talk the talk and do not walk the walk. What about you?

Deu 16:16  Three times in a year shall all your males appear before Jehovah your God in the place which He shall choose: in the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and in the Feast of Weeks, and in the Feast of Tabernacles. And they shall not appear before Jehovah empty, 17  but each with his gift in his hand, according to the blessing of Jehovah your God, which He has given you.

Think about yourself this Shavuot and whether or not you will be allowed to be in the wedding Feast or whether or not you will be one of those not chosen and cast out bound hand and foot. The choice is yours to make. You can make that choice by producing fruits and works in your life. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words. Those who are always complaining are showing you their fruits for the actions they failed to take.

Sometimes the silence in your actions speaks volumes to Yehovah. You choose whether or not you are part of the 144,000 or the enumerable crowd. You choose.

You all know the story of the unprofitable servant who buried his talent out of fear. It was told immediately after the 10 virgins that were invited to the wedding and waiting for the groom. But 5 of them were told that the Groom never knew them.

Mat 25:12  But he answered and said, Truly I say to you, I do not know you.

This is the same expression used in Matt 7 about those who work lawlessness. Some say they are saved by grace and will not do works. But being lawless is a work in itself. And not keeping the Sabbaths or the Feasts or giving to Yehovah is a work of rebellion and lawlessness.

Mat 7:22  Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works? 23  And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!

Mat 25:22  He also who had received two talents came and said, Lord, you delivered two talents to me. Behold, I have gained two other talents above them. 23  His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. 24  And he who had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew that you were a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter. 25  And I was afraid and went and hid your talent in the earth. Lo, you have yours. 26  His lord answered and said to him, Evil and slothful servant! You knew that I reaped where I did not sow, and gathered where I did not scatter, 27  then you should have put my money to the exchangers, and coming I would have received my own with interest. 28  Therefore take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents. 29  For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will abound. But from him who has not, even that which he has shall be taken away from him. 30  And throw the unprofitable servant into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

You choose your own paths of righteousness. You choose. Your walk determines your faith, and your works show your faith. The fruits of your faith are determined by your works. So choose wisely what you will do or not do. Galatians tells you of the fruits you need to produce in your lives.

Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23  meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Do not wait until His return and find out He never knew you because you never did anything. Go and teach, go and serve, go and produce fruits to give to Him. Stop finding excuses and start finding reasons to get things done. And pray for His help in doing this.

Again you get to choose how you will obey or not and to what degree. Even the unprofitable servant had one talent from Yehovah, but he choose not to use it. You too get to choose. Choose wisely.
